Freelancer, Jealous?

Far into the early months of being with Gavin, Freelancer doesn't understand how anyone could sideline any of the incubi.

Schoolmates and faculty alike are actually proud to say that they have a sex demon they can call when they're already in a relationship with another person. Freelancer had been forced to listen to a litany of how that one succubus drastically improved a senior student's relationship with her partner, or how the Intermediate Elemental Command professor rekindled the spark in his marriage when he hooked up with an incubus.

"Do they know you're talking about them like that?" They blurted out at one point. Absolutely no effort went into holding back. "How would they feel?"

They all laughed in Freelancer's face. "Who cares what they feel?"

Damien had tugged at Freelancer's sleeve and whispered. "Maybe don't pick that fight."

Now, monitoring who else Gavin fed from aside from Freelancer ― there's an idea. Where was the guarantee that he wasn't fucking the water elemental tutor or he wasn't taking it up the ass by some broad-shouldered junior that Freelancer walked past in the school halls?

They'd been glaring daggers at yet another schoolmate parroting about the number of positions she put a succubus into when Huxley gently elbowed them in the side. Freelancer snapped, more harshly than intended. "Ow! What?!"

"They're gonna notice you. Why are you glaring?" He said softly, but not weakly.

Freelancer huffed through their nose. They scrape away the frost that formed in the floor beneath their shoes. "Nothing."

Huxley drew his mouth into a thin line. "Damien says your new hobby is listening to anyone bragging about being with an incubus."

"Oh, you speak to Damien a lot, do you?" Freelancer challenged.

"That's not fair." The side of his lips curled. "Unlike me, you're actually dating the person you like. Go talk to him."

At the sigh that escaped Freelancer, Huxley continued in a more serious tone. "We can't both be miserable, Freelancer."

Schoolwork wasn't an effective distraction. For fuck's sake, Freelancer gave their first time to Gavin after reviewing. Every other turn of the pages in the lecture books felt like the strands of Gavin's hair when he was feasting between Freelancer's legs. Each ache in their shoulders and neck was always eased by those lovely hands and that incredibly sinful mouth.

As if summoned by thought alone (it wasn't that far-fetched in actuality), Gavin now lounged on the other end of the couch. He traced lines on Freelancer's calves, smirking like a cat. "Thinking twice about enrolling, deviant?"

Normally a rabid, even feral, creature that relished in his touch, Freelancer slowly pulled their legs back, flipping to the next page. Gavin's hair felt exactly like that when he kissed Freelancer so deeply their voice broke.

Gavin's smirk flickered, but another flash of pleasure from them had him chuckling. Freelancer was playing hard to get.

He crawled across the couch, trailing a line of soft kisses from Freelancer's forearm, up to their bicep, and to their shoulder. That was when the pleasure suddenly folded into itself and became anger.

Fear.

Gavin withdrew, blinking. It wasn't fear of him ― never, unless they were playing it up during sex, but fear... Of... Of something he couldn't pinpoint, watching the person he adored most now ignore him.

"Freelancer?"

They flipped to the next page. Their hand was trembling. "Hm?"

He forced himself to ask calmly. Pretended that he wasn't three seconds away from dying. "Is something wrong?" Did I do something wrong?

Whether Freelancer heard the shift in his tone anyway, or he wasn't as excellent at faking it as he thought, they looked at him. Searched his expression for something he didn't know, but now needed to.

Freelancer's throat bobbed. They anxiously fidgeted with the cover of their lecture book. "Do... Did you just come from..." A frustrated growl. "Are you hungry right now?"

Did you come back to me when you already fed on someone else?

If Gavin was being perfectly honest, the answer was yes. Always, and it bothered him as much as it thrilled him. Something about Freelancer reinvigorates his appetite and dries his throat that only tasting Freelancer could satisfy him. Nothing short of listening to how they moaned when Gavin was completely inside of them, and how they giggled into his bare chest when it was all said and done made him feel weightless. Sex alone couldn't accomplish that ― he would know.

Honesty. That wary, guarded look on Freelancer's face needed honesty and care. "Yes. For you."

Freelancer shut the book and set it aside, facing him fully. Gavin allowed them the quiet to sort through their thoughts. "Your fellow incubi and succubi get into relationships with people who... Already have someone else. Aren't they bothered that they're being cheated on?"

Gavin blinked once. Twice. The words settled. "Most aren't. From what little I hear of their entanglements, they have an agreement. Not every couple has the single-minded rapturous focus that we do, voyeur."

Some of the coldness in their expression thawed. But not all. He considered that beloved face. "Do you have someone else, Freelancer?"

"What? No!" Their hand clamped around Gavin's own, and his core warmed with recognition. There they are. "Don't even think that!"

"Do you think I have someone else?"

Freelancer opened their mouth. Then closed it.

It was a gamble to ask that question. And it paid off. Gavin tenderly kissed the back of Freelancer's hand. "I would only like to say this once. I have never desired any of them the way I desire you."

They clenched their jaw. Before tonight ended, Gavin mentally swore to fuck all of that frustration out of them. He kissed Freelancer's palms lovingly. "Look, I'd like us to be joined at the hip, but your life doesn't revolve around me."

"It should." Freelancer murmured, pouting.

Giggling, Gavin leaned in and kissed them. He was at his most natural self when his lips molded and moved with Freelancer's own, sucking on their tongue and mewling into their mouth. In between kisses, he says. "Jealousy looks amazing on you, Freelancer."

Freelancer pulled away first, wrapping their arms around his neck in a tight embrace. Gavin cradled the back of their head, his other hand slowly making circles on Freelancer's back. I'm here. I'm right here.

"Do you know what happens when I feed on someone else?" He asked quietly. "They're adorable when they're flustered, sure. But my effect on them is too shallow of a reason. When I make you blush, it's because I know you, and I know what excites you. I enjoy being the reason you're flustered, or laughing, or crying with pleasure." Three back to back kisses on Freelancer's head for emphasis. "I feed on someone else, and I just make comparisons with you. I just miss you... Freelancer?"

They were breathing deeply, slowly against him. Unshed tears glistened in their eyelashes, and their kiss-swollen lips moved with every breath. Asleep.

Gavin chuckled, angling his body farther than he probably should just to plant another kiss on Freelancer's lips. He smiled, and murmured. "Good night, my love. I'll see you in the morning."

Twst x Fe3h (Fire emblem 3 houses)

I've been playing fe3h a lot since graduation so i figured i'd be fun to make something like this, i don't actually have the dlc so i hope the dlc class assignments i did seemed somewhat correct

General ideas:

1st years would usually be in beginner classes

2nd years in intermediate classes

3rd years in advanced classes

Instead of 3 houses we have 2 schools (3 if we add noble bell but honestly i'm leaning towards only 2)

Instead of the white heron cup the vdc decides who gets to be in the dancer class (which i guess could mean we can have up to 7 dancers??)

Good at flying a broomstick = Good at wyvern/ pegasus riding(?)

I'm planning on ignoring the fact that some classes are genderlocked because i think that locking certain classes behind gender is stupid

Despite the fact that everyone in twst is capable of magic i will be ignoring it because it would be boring if everyone was a mage/warlock/gremory

(Ideas and explanation for class choices under the cut)

Riddle:

I know i said 2nd years get put in intermediate classes but i feel like riddle should be an exception

The only thing stopping him from getting his master class is his his level not being high enough for the certification exams

I'm leaning towards dark knight instead of gremory (he's good riding so why not?)

I feel like his stat growth would be similar to lysithea's

He'd probably have the highest magic growth (His dorm card has the highest attack stat right?)

I think he'd have warp as a spell list?

He'd probably be good at reason, faith and riding

Bad at axes and heavy armor

Trey

A healer and i take no criticism on this

His dorm card is really good defense card with high heals so i think it fits

I think he'd be a less squishy healer (higher defense growth?)

His strength probably wouldn't be bad so maybe he'd excell even if he wasn't a healer

I'm thinking he'd be good at axes and faith

Personal ability would be similar to mercedes (??)

Cater:

Unlike with trey i do take criticism on this because i'm not sure what to class him as

I ended up going with wyvern rider since riddle has a line that says cater's good at flying

I wanna put him as a falcon knight but unfortunately it's a master class and i'd prefer to save that for a timeskip

I feel like he'd be good at lances idk

Maybe his doubles can all be deployed in battle with different classes??

I feel like he might end up being op?

Ace:

Myrmidon but i feel like he can fit into any beginner class tbh

When he gets older he probably becomes a trickster (people who have the dlc please confirm)

Despite both him and deuce being in the same class i figured i'd try to make some differences in their uniform

Decent dancer class candidate (good at swords, no weakness in learning reason or faith, probably decent charm stat)

I feel like he'd be the type to hide in bushes and forests a lot for the high avoidance(?)

Probably has a balanced magic and strength growth

Deuce:

Another myrmidon but with different intermediate class choices

Would probably go into thief or mercenary

Although i think archer is pretty good fit?

Obvious advanced class choice would probably be assassin

Another good dancer candidate (good at swords, high speed stat, budding talent in reason)

Unfortunately i feel like he'd suffer in the charm department but that can probably be fixed with stat boosters and tea parties

After that we can class him as a dancer with the +20 sword avo and he'd be a dodge tank

Alternatively he can be a brawler?? Instead of training him in sword we can go down the brawler path so he can be a war master in end game

♯ 2003 - 2012 Mila lived with her parents in Sunshine Coast, Australia. Her mother was a medical student and her father was a musician, and were both young when they fell in love. Her father dreamt of performing for the world; her mother, however, disapproved of the time he spent away from home. Constant arguments and disagreements led to a divorce when Mila was 9, and Mila’s mother took her back to China afterwards. Mila wouldn’t see her father again until much later.

♯ 2013 - 2017 While in China, Mila would continue to pursue her passion for cheerleading, which she developed in Australia, after her mother had enrolled her with a free coupon she got from an associate. But at thirteen years old, she was suddenly dropped while stunting and fractured her spine, requiring a surgery and months of therapy. After the experience, her mother forbade her from continuing cheerleading, though she would still practice in secret—until she found a new passion.

♯ 2017-2018 Mila recovered fully from her surgery and searched for something else to do now that she can no longer continue her lifelong passion of cheer. One day, a school friend invited her to attend dance classes, and Mila decided to try it out. She started to fall in love with dance as time passed and decided it was something she wanted to continue doing on the future. One day, she sees that female trainee auditions are open at BigHit, and decides to audition with some Kpop friends who were interested. She was the only one in the group who was accepted.

♯ 2018-2020 Mila would eventually receive a difficult time from her mother, who condemned her for wanting to leave home to pursue fame, as it was the same thing her father did that caused her parent’s relationship to fall apart. Mila started to lose courage, not wanting to disappoint her mother. However, her grandmother stood firmly by her side and encouraged her to go. Mila would leave home without reconciling with her mother — something that would weigh heavy on her heart for years to come. However, during that time, she became close friends with Kiara, and met Heeseung, Jay and Sunghoon through her. Together, they would enter the survival show I-Land, and debut together in the group Enhypen.

♯ 2021-2022 Mila would grapple with the struggles of debuting and sudden rise to fame, as well as her awkward relationship with her mother. During this time, she also starts to realise that her feelings for certain members of the group. All of this becomes a melting pot of stress for Mila. However, Mila comes clean, and learns that the boys feel the same way about her. It would be a long and difficult process, but they would eventually accept a polyamorous relationship between Mila and the boys.

♯ 2022-PRESENT Despite many difficulties and challenges, Mila becomes one of the icons of the fourth generation of Kpop groups, with Enhypen continuing to rise in success and fame as time passes, while Mila and the boys continue to grow closer together.

She never actually met her younger half-brother and didn't even known about him until she overheard her mother talking about it on the phone, hence why she still claims to be an only child

Mila's family is actually very wealthy, with her grandfather being the chairman of a private hospital that was owned previously by her grandmother's father (Mila's great-grandfather)

Because of the previously stated fact, many of Mila's relatives are in the medical field, including her mother, who is a plastic surgeon with a clinic in Shenzhen

Mila is the only granddaughter and hence received preferential treatment from her grandparents and family members, who spoiled her

"We Happy Few" - @geometea. listen to me. listen. i am looking deeply into your eyes. read this fucking fic. it's hard to shill without spoiling anything, BUT: wyll is a still-pacted grand duke. he used to have a bunch of unresolved romantic tension with astarion and now hasn't spoken to him for 15 years. now take that premise and add body horror, beautiful ominous surreal images, and SURPRISE BIG EMOTIONS. just trust me on this one, guys

"Crossed Blades" - @rebelontherocks. this is a...i think i have to call this a cozy sex romp. wyll and astarion are married, wyll is a busy duke, astarion needs more enrichment, astarion invents a very silly sex game by roleplaying teenage-wyll's smut books. wyll is So Deeply Into It. i love this fic for its characterization, its banter, and its commitment to paralleling character psychology to what sounds like an absolutely wild in-universe smut series (that is sketched with an impressive amount of detail and care tbh??).

"Comfort" - @acephalouscreature. short and sweet. wyll is injured and everyone expects astarion to take care of him. luckily, astarion has a dastardly plan to fake feelings for wyll by thinking about his feelings for wyll. you sure fooled them, astarion!! also featuring: astarion trying to figure out how to comfort someone by thinking about horses

"False Compare" - @jellyfishline. i'd recommend checking out their work generally, but i fell in love with this one first. wyll writes a sonnet! astarion is mean about it until he isn't! deeply in-character with an emphasis on how each of them communicates affection. gorgeous prose

"how to escape the torment nexus" - @ushauz. this series is incredibly unique, set in a fucked-up bad end where wyll is a lemure, astarion is still on the run from cazador, and almost everyone else is dead. where this really shines imo is wyll's POV: he's been through literal hell, doesn't remember his life, and is wading through his unconscious attachment to astarion like a foreign language. (side note also read Heart of Stone for a great lae'zel character piece)

"An Acorn in the Moonlight" - @anonyhex. this is one of the first wyllstarion fics i ever read and it has a special place in my heart!! it's particularly cathartic to read for Wyll reasons, including him actually getting to Have Emotions about what Ulder put him through. and they are so sweet with each other!!

"temporal displacement" - @purplecatghostposts. ok this came out like. yesterday but listen, i LOVE outsider pov of an astarion who's learned to show affection somewhat, seen from the eyes of someone who doesn't know his history and has no reason to suspect All Of That. and when that "outsider" is a dying 20-year-old wyll who just saw astarion step out of a time portal. well.

Pony Consciousness is Compassionate Consciousness. Because the Ponies are not estranged from Nature the way we are, they have over the Eons developed a potent magic that allows them to interface with their biosphere in much more subtle, and powerful ways than we can.

The Alicorn Princesses are one of very most potent manifestations of this relationship. They appear according to laws and timing that we wouldn't understand. There's an element of Will and Choice to it, but I suspect Instinct plays an important role as well.

So, Alicorn Princesses can regulate the temperature of the Sun, or keep the Moon properly calibrated. And that keeps the tolerances tighter on how nuts ponies can get. Here on the human Earth, we've had some problems with that.

But the Alicorn Princesses of Equestria can also divert asteroids and comets to prevent catastrophic, world ending impacts. Those really are very rare though. More often, they just keep the weather patterns predictable, within reason, to see to it that crops don't fail or that animal populations don't decline. The biodiversity is maintained, though not in a greedy way.

So, the ponies are very close to nature and they can work with it more effectively and proactively than we can. But they have humility and thus a sense of belonging and surrender that we lack. They are not magical overlords who dominate their environment. Rather, the ponies really are in Harmony with their surroundings, and I suspect that, even though the Elements of Harmony represent the aspects of Friendship, that they are somehow based upon the foundation of this wonderous and gentle relationship the ponies have to their world.

This, all of this has deeply informed pony culture, norms, customs and rituals. Of course, the ponies are still in the material creation. Life is not perfect in Equestria. I feel that they too are an intermediate category world. But that is a wide section of bandwidth and they are still quite comfortably ahead of us. Thus, if we can cultivate Pony Consciousness in ourselves, both our culture and our environment will benefit and heal massively from their most excellent example.

Some language learning apps:

Notifyword - free, closest I cpuld find to a free alternative to Glossika with the feature to upload your own sentences/decks/spreadsheets, and it makes audio using TTS and plays them. However I did not test it enough to see if it schedules new/reviews so you don't need to manage figuring all that out yourself. It has potential, I will check into the app again in a year.

Smart Book by KursX - free, used to be my favorite app to read novels as it could do parallel sentence translation, then something broke on my version and it crashed whenever I opened a novel. Now any chinese book I add epub or txt shows me a black screen, no text, making the app unusable. Its easier to read in the web browser now. Which makes me sad because this app was so good back when I got it. Then something broke and I haven't been able to fix it. I paid for premium for this app I liked it so much, I'm really sad I can't see text in books in it anymore. If anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know? Maybe it's a txt file setting? But then why do the epubs also not load text? Anyway great app... if it works for you. Sadly its broken for me.

Live Transcribe - I don't use this enough. It transcribes what people say (or audio), then you can click to translate the text.

LingoTube - only free app I know where I can put in a youtube video link, and it will make dual subtitles/let me replay the video line by line (including repeating a loop on one line), click translate individual words. Excellent for intensive listening. I'm usually lazy so I just watch youtube and look up an occasional word in Google Translate or Pleco. But this tool is excellent for intensively looking a lot up in a video/relistening to particular lines.

Duoreader - basic collection of parallel texts. No options to upload files, but super nice for what it is. Totally free.

Chinese:

Hanly - a new free app for learning hanzi. Looks great, has great mnemonics and sound information and you can tell it was made with love/a goal in mind. It's still new though so only the first 1000 hanzi have full information filled out, making it more useful for beginners. As the app is worked on more, I'm hoping it will become more useful for intermediate learners.

Readibu - free, great for reading webnovels just get it if you want to read chinese webnovels. You can import almost ANY webpage into Readibu to read, just paste the url into the search. So if you have a particular novel in mind you may want to do that instead of searching the app's built in genres.

Pleco - free, great for everything just get it if you're learning chinese. Great dictionary, great (one time purchase) paid features like handwriting, additional dictionaries, graded readers. Great SRS flashcard system, great Reader tool (and free Clipboard Reader which is 80% of what I use the app for - especially Dictate Audio feature which Readibu can't do).

Bilibili.com app - look up a tutorial, it is fairly easy to make an account in the US (and I imagine other countries) using your email. The algorithm is quite good at suggesting things similar to what you search. So once I searched a couple danmei, I got way more recommended. Once I searched one manhua video, more popped up. Once I searched one dubbed cartoon, more popped up. You can easily spend as much time on this as you'd like.

Weibo - you can browse tags/search without an account. I could not make an account with a US phone and no wechat account. Nice for browsing tags/looking up particular topics.

Japanese:

Tae Kims Grammar Guide - has an app version that's formatted to read easier on phones.

Yomiwa - this is the dictionary app I use for japanese on android.

Satori Reader - amazing graded reader app for japanese with full audiobooks for each reader (which you can listen to individual sentences of on repeat if desired), individual grammar explanations for each part, human translations for each word and sentence. When I start reading more this is what I want to use. Too expensive right now unless I'm reading a bunch, as only the first chapter (or first few) of each graded reader is free. I would suggest checking out the free Tadoku Graded Readers first online, then coming to this app later.
