Die Störung
The disruption

very unserious post but if this show came out now there would be an episode where the patient is asking chat gpt about their symptoms and what the doctors should be doing throughout their stay at the hospital. the ducklings almost quit about 5 times while trying to treat them. House gets banned from entering the patient's room because he's way too eager to demonstrate that the procedure the ai is suggesting will quite literally set the patient on fire. IT changes the hospital's wifi password but the patient has a great mobile data plan. security has to be called at least twice. everyone is losing their mind. in the end patient inevitably thinks their recovery was thanks to the ai. Wilson has to stop House from putting laxatives into the patient's food. roll the credits

“we support the right to protest so long as it’s not disruptive” I feel like. being a little disruptive. to a system or power doing something you don’t approve of or support in order to change it. is kinda the point

I'm just confused on why the reporters made sure to specifically say he was white. He was a man, the skin color doesn't change the monstrous act that happened.
It's bc this country is full of racist, far-right, pieces of shit.
Whenever something like this happens, people assume it's a poc or an immigrant and use it to sprout their racist bs.
The Southport stabbings led to country-wide riots that involved poc and immigrants being attacked on the streets and even in their own homes, despite the attacker being born in the UK.
So, the reason they specified that it was a white man was to prevent those riots from happening again and to try and prevent poc and immigrants from being targeted and attacked.
Ofc race doesn't matter, he's a monster and he should go to hell, but in the context of the state of the UK right now, its important that we prevent fueling the far right and reform with their racist, anti-immigration propaganda.

What will you do if the Internet goes down?
The prospect of a widespread internet disruption is a genuine concern in our increasingly digital world. Our reliance on the internet for communication, commerce, and information access makes us vulnerable to the consequences of a prolonged outage. The centralization of our digital infrastructure, with a few tech giants controlling a significant portion of the cloud, exacerbates this vulnerability. A disruption to these services would have a ripple effect, impacting businesses, supply chains, and individuals alike.
Tumblr media
However, crises often breed opportunities. Could an internet outage catalyze the rise of decentralized, community-driven networks? We've seen glimpses of this resilience in mesh networks used during protests and the proliferation of open-source tools promoting digital freedom. Could such initiatives not only survive but flourish in a landscape devoid of the traditional internet? Personal resilience starts with individual preparedness. Backing up data, utilizing offline knowledge repositories, and adopting secure communication protocols are not just good practices; they're essential for digital sovereignty. Preparing for an internet outage isn't about fear; it's about empowering ourselves with self-sufficiency.
Financial autonomy is equally crucial. Recognizing that banks are susceptible to disruption, exploring alternatives like cryptocurrency (in cold storage) and localized trade becomes prudent. In essence, while we prepare for potential digital turbulence, let's ground ourselves with analog foundations. Community networks, contingency plans, and an adaptable mindset are our anchors. Our goal shouldn't be merely to endure a digital blackout; it should be to cultivate a resilient lifestyle that thrives regardless of our online connectivity.
Counter-cultures are not just about opposing the status quo; they're about resilience and adaptability. Our responses to restrictions can foster the emergence of more robust, diverse systems that align with our inherent need for freedom and privacy. As we navigate the delicate balance between convenience and sovereignty, let's remember to look beyond our screens. Our neighbors, local communities, and the independence of thought are pillars that cannot be gated or switched off.

things that have helped. bought beautiful groceries. ate a real apple today. couple days sobriety (risk). changes to routine which involved risk within familiar bounds (seeing finn after a while, hanging out w m&r, starting work again). creation of new routines and preciousness of the present (took a bath, all the reading, frequent writing practice). building strength w cleaning & hw & tasks i usually see as inherently draining but were instead a way to keep time moving at a steady pace, doing nice stuff for roommates & for myself (cooking chicken). above all spending time w people i love & choosing that before anything else

I only follow/am mutuals with like 7 ppl on this blog so far bc I forget how to do social media but let me tell you, I feel so attentive and informed for Tumblr Dash Purposes. 10 minute on this app and I know what’s up with all of you. I have reblogged a whole day’s worth of posts and am off to play video games and make art again. I know this won’t last bc I can’t not follow ppl (although im right now still very much in a “they don’t really want me to follow them on this new account, that would somehow be a bother bc no one is capable of either not noticing me or blocking me at their leisure” stage so we’ll see)
But man it’s nice while it’s here

Why does knowing I have DID because ✨DID Problems✨ make said problems both less and more Terrifying.
Like I know what it is and how to cope. I'm getting really good at it in fact.
But also these are like. Problem problems. I dunno if we can counsel ourselves outta this one gang..
Blogging time! Cuz like yeah it's objectively weird but just another Sunday for us lmao
Like tell me why, when we headed back to work shortly after hanging out with a friend, "we" briefly couldn't even remember who we hung out with. Except now that I know what's going on, I realize when I'm not fronting. This other alter fronted by surprise, probably because we were deciding where to work tonight.
Like cool I know why I was so out of it but still Doing Things but the WHY there makes things. So incredibly complicated for me. And bro felt baaaaad like shit he didn't remember jack. Because duh the Guy Who Was Not There fronted only after the other human is Gone. Some alters just can't help but mask and it's not good for us so they don't front with others around, you know the basics lol
And why do we feel like a bad friend even though we remember them perfectly clearly now. We remember them, but we had to consciously communicate it... To someone else in our own head... Like a thought-game of telephone? And like u know what it's like to think u can feel your brain working, and mine's like "compartmentalize or else." Whoops! Having fun? Many people wanna share front? Gonna slice up the memories! Oh you're conscious of this process? Amnesia. Get shadow realmed bitch you're not about to come into contact with something you shouldn't be reminded of. DAMN being wired for Living is so cool actually but also mom pick me up I'm scared (picks myself up). We always remember after a moment or two, which is why we never used to suspect amnesia to begin with. I will never understand why latching onto guilt for every little thing seems to be hardwired into our being.
It's up and down really, and makes socializing tough even though we love interacting with our friends so much. And Idk we always have really good communication when we're happy (and high ngl) but sometimes if we're alone we connect a lot of dots and don't know what to do with them. Silly funny interesting things and not something legit keeping me too dissociated to drive lmaoooo good thing we're freelance
BUT because we stopped, we saw a raccoon skitter across the ground. I love raccoons, they're cute. We were just thinking about them earlier. Makes up for the Horrors I think.
Tryna make some more money before bed but my phone is crying "no signal" despite working on certain apps. Guess I'm being forced to chill for a second. We're doing just fine and hopefully have a whole new job soon. We saw a magazine at the store that had part of the title obscured and all that remained visible was "your mind works." I think I'll take that as a good sign because uh it sure does! We deal we deal.
Being myself is the best advice I ever actually followed but damn this is difficult.
So yeah internal communication is a fuck. But less so than it used to be.

Kids, this is Bongo.
Pay attention - your life may depend upon this.
A series of coronal mass ejections from the Sun erupted a little under a week ago and the effects of which are scheduled to start hitting the Earth sometime around 4:00 p.m. eastern time. I'm in Florida, and the smallest bit is going to hit sometime around 4:00 there will be a relative pause for a few hours, and then there will be an extended slap to the Earth.
These CMEs have the ability to disrupt satellite communication, electrical systems and networks, and internet systems. Your phone may not work. If it starts getting hot, take the battery out and put it someplace away from anything flammable.
The second of the cme's that will hit will be sometime around 4:00 to 5 hours later. These are going to be extremely energetic, raising radiation levels on a, b, and gamma levels. Also, the electromagnetic discharge may be enough to start setting fires. If there is a fire near you please get to a safe spot. Animals, the tectonic plates, and Tides may be affected. A CME is being blamed at this point for a power outage in Scotland last week.
If this is a national or multinational electrical event, you may want to disregard the rest of this message because you're going to be on your own.
For more information, download the Solar Dynamics Observatory app from your app store.
Good luck, everybody. Keep thinking happy thoughts. - Bongo

My sister getting diagnosed with autism is literally the funniest thing to ever happen in my family because the more I learn about it the more I realize that the whole damn family is autistic.
Without getting too much into it, my dad and his mom and his brother and their cousins and really the majority of his family are almost certainly undiagnosed autistic or some other similar disorder(s). Which doesnt change anything or even feel like a revelation tbh.
But what makes this so fucking funny is that, for years, my sister has been convinced that there’s something wrong with my mom. Every week she comes and tells me about a different tiktok diagnoses that explains why our mom is so fucking weird.
And it turns out that the reason my siblings and I have spent our whole lives side-eying our mom is because she is the only neurotypical in a family of quirked up little freaks.

“It seems like almost all of those people don’t have HIV,” said Jennifer Kates, HIV policy director at KFF, a health-research nonprofit. “If they did, that would be substandard care at a pretty severe level,” she said.
Ya’ll. United Health just got accused of $17 billion in medicare fraud.
Basically they made up diagnosis which are improbable or impossible, “forgot” to remove ones which had been cured, and overall allegedly stole billions from taxpayers.
The government pays insurers a base rate for each Medicare Advantage member. The insurers are entitled to extra money when their patients are diagnosed with certain conditions that are costly to treat.
… About 18,000 Medicare Advantage recipients had insurer-driven diagnoses of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, but weren’t receiving treatment for the virus from doctors, between 2018 and 2021, the data showed. Each HIV diagnosis generates about $3,000 a year in added payments to insurers.
… He said internal company data for 2022 showed a treatment rate for patients UnitedHealth diagnosed with HIV of more than triple what the Journal found. He said the pandemic disrupted care, lowering treatment rates during the period analyzed by the Journal, and that the analysis failed to account for patients who started treatments in future years.
The Medicare data, however, show UnitedHealth’s patients with insurer-driven HIV diagnoses were on the antiretrovirals at low rates even before the pandemic, and hardly any started the drugs in the years after UnitedHealth diagnosed them.

I bet United Health really wishes it was a different week right now.
UPDATE/EDIT: Article is from July. I didn’t notice myself since it came up in my news feed. Don’t always trust the internet to be time accurate. 😎My guess is it is getting promoted due to current events. However, there are some updates concerning actions taken based on the report which you can look into by checking the authors’ other articles.
