You hadn't even asked the guy for his name. It occurred to you as he pressed his face into your neck, pressing a tender kiss at the hinge of your jaw. It was too sweet a feeling for a hookup in a dirty bar bathroom.
You grasped his cheek, drawing him up for a rough kiss as he steered you back against the bathroom wall. Your heart was pounding roughly in your chest, practically in time with the pulsing bass being pumped through the bar outside. He caged you in against the wall plastered with torn stickers and graffiti, moaning against your lips as his hand slid down, groping your breast through your shirt.
You’d never done anything like this before. Why were you doing it now? Why this man? Why this filthy bathroom?
One last hurrah, you supposed. Starting tomorrow, you were taking over a command post for a mission on one of the most prestigious ships in Starfleet. You understood the significance of your position, knew that you would have to be an upstanding crew member. You were nervous. You needed to blow off some steam.
You bit your lip to quiet a moan as the man slotted his thigh between your legs, drawing you close to grind down against him. You shivered at the feeling, raising your hand to comb through his hair as you thrusted and shifted together. It felt good, but it just wasn’t enough. You gave his chest a shove, sending him back against the wall on the other side of the small bathroom. His brilliant blue eyes lit up, lips splitting into a grin as you gripped the sleeves of his leather jacket, tugging it off of his shoulders as your lips crashed into his. He groaned, shaking the jacket off and letting it crumple to the ground before he raised his hands to cup your face.
You smoothed your hand down over his chest, palming his muscles beneath his threadbare t-shirt before massaging the growing bulge in his pants. He tipped his head back against the wall, pressing his hips up into your hand. You kissed his neck, nipping just beneath his ear and giggling as he rested his hand on the crown of your neck, drawing you closer to mark the skin there.
You undid his pants, slipping your hand inside and feeling his stiff, heated flesh in your hand. You bit your lip, smoothing your thumb over the head of his dick, swiping and spreading a bead of precum. You tipped your chin up, nipping his earlobe.
“I want you to fuck me,” You murmured.
“Fuck—Turn around.”
You pulled away from him, letting him steer you toward the toilet. You shoved your pants down, bending over the toilet tank and bracing your hands on it. You felt him step up behind you, glancing back just in time to see him crouching behind you. He steadied a hand on your thigh as he leaned in, swiping his tongue across your pussy. You cursed, pressing your hips back against his face as he lapped at you hungrily. You felt the hot slide of his spit slipping over your opening before you felt the press of his fingers. He pressed a kiss to the inside of your thigh as he straightened, curling and spearing his fingers in twice more before drawing away. You stomach flipped as you heard the crinkle of a condom wrapper and turned your head, watching him slide it on before he stepped closer again.
He rested his hand on your hip, steadying you as he drew his cockhead along your slit. He eased into you slowly, the two of you groaning harshly as he pressed in.
“Fuck,” You breathed, letting your head hang heavy as he pressed closer. He grasped your shoulder, drawing you back onto his cock as he began to thrust into you. You braced your hands more firmly on the tank, pressing back thrust for thrust. He curled over you, sliding his hand up beneath your shirt and tugging down one of your bra cups. He thumbed your nipple, swiping at the same pace as his thrusts, sending trickles of pleasure through you. You honed in on his steady thrusts, the brush of his breath against your neck, the soft grunts and moans falling from his lips.
You both ignored the knocking on the door, the question of whether or not anyone was in there, chased by the jiggle of the handle. You reached back, gripping hm by the shirt and urging him on, tugging him closer as his steady thrust turned to a sharp pounding, his groans swelling as his pace turned frantic, nearly obscuring the music—
--
You were still thinking about it the next morning as you prepared to beam aboard. You were a little sore, but you didn’t mind it. Now and again, you found yourself squeezing your thighs together for that little throbbing sensation. You could practically still hear the man’s stuttering grunt as he came, see the curious way he watched at you as the two of you straightened yourselves out. You couldn’t help but smile as you remember the wink he gave you, opening the door and offering, “Ladies first,” As you left.
You never had gotten his name.
You shook your head, trying to shift your train of thought. Now was not the time. You had to focus. You were beaming abroad, meeting the Captain and his first mate. Work now, fond memories later.
The golden beam engulfed you as you drew in a deep breath, then pushed it out slowly as the Transporter Bay came into view. You stood at attention, hands tucked behind your back as…Incredibly familiar blue eyes came into view. The all-too-familiar man’s grin faltered, and shock swept through you as you took in the sight of your one-time bathroom buddy in command gold.
You blinked dazedly at him, your own smile dropping away. Oh, crap. Oh—fuck, fuck, fuck, the one time you go a little crazy—
“Welcome aboard the Enterprise, Commander.” The no-nonsense tone of the first officer beside the Captain snapped you back onto focus, and you forced your face into a neutral mask as you nodded, stepping down from the transporter pads.
“Glad to be aboard,” You insisted, meeting both their gazes. You felt a little guilty for hardly focusing as Spock introduced himself, but you could feel the way that the Captain was watching you. When you turned to greet him, you found that his smile had softened to a flirty curl, his brows raised slightly as he held his hand out.
“Jim Kirk.”
Jim. It was sort of nice to put a name to the face. You shook his hand, nodding.
"It's nice to meet you."
"It certainly is."
Your stomach flipped at the steady gaze that he fixed you with. You could feel the scrutiny of the Vulcan beside you, and you widened your eyes slightly at the Captain when he didn't let go of your hand. He cleared his throat as he finally let go, stepping aside and gesturing out of the Transporter Bay.
"Ladies first."
You bit the inside of your cheek as you stepped past him, fighting back a groan. This was going to be a long mission.

Time to Kill

You smiled with contentment as you finished laying the soft blankets on the bed. Lying down, you checked that the projection screen was set up just right before you dimmed the lights and turned on the fake fire nearby. The windows showed beautiful fall trees swaying in a light rainy breeze, and for a moment, you really did forget you were on Starship deep in space.
Halloween was approaching on Earth, and the whole ship buzzed with ideas of Halloween parties and costume contests. As you traveled to a distant area of space, you had time to kill, so the crew was allowed to do as they pleased.
Time to kill, also meant, the two of you could relax and have a cozy evening all to yourself. Something Jim was more than happy about.
Hearing a buzz at the door, you looked over to see it slide open, revealing Jim, clad in a cozy outfit, holding a tray brimmed with various foods and snacks.
You grinned as you locked eyes and you felt a warmth fill your chest as he walked over to the bed.
"Wow" He smiled as he looked around, noting all of the various changes you had made to give his suite the perfect autumn vibe.
"You like it?" You asked a bit uncertainly.
He smiled at you as he leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. "I love it, its perfect."
You smiled in relief, before your eyes widened a bit, seeing all of the food he had brought. You recognized old Earth Halloween candy, as well as some of your favorite sweets. There were small cakes, chips and dip, and hot chocolate complete with mini marshmallows.
"And how did I do?" He asked with a smile.
You grinned up at him, "Perfect."
He clapped his hands, "So we ready then?"
You nodded happily as you gingerly moved the tray to the middle of the bed, allowing Jim to climb in next to you. He let out a relaxed sigh as he leaned back.
Looking over his shoulder he quirked his brow. "Where did you get all of these pillows?"
You grinned, "I'm a comfort hoarder, you know this."
He chuckled, "Right."
He reached out his arm as you settled in to lean against him, hot chocolate in hand.
Grabbing a PAD he started to flick through the various movies you had downloaded for the evening.
"Ooh, we have to watch this later." He smiled as he pointed at Beetlejuice.
You nodded, "Of course."
"Hmm, but first." He stopped on a movie in the list and your eyes widened. You had not downloaded that one.
Immediately you shook your head, "Absolutely not."
He scoffed, "Why not? IT's a classic!"
"I don't care if it's a classic, I hate it!"
"Oh come on, it's not that bad!"
"IT is that bad" you chuckled "I watched it as a kid and it gave me nightmares, and it made me hate clowns."
"If we aren't watching IT then we aren't watching Hocus Pocus."
You gasped as you sat up, setting down your hot chocolate before you spilled it. "Those movies are not comparable! And Hocus Pocus is so much better!"
He shook his head stubbornly and you pouted at him, your eyes glaring playfully. He glared back, but you saw his resolve failing as his eyes drifted to the pout on your lips.
He finally let out a sigh and rested his head back. "Fine, we can watch Hocus Pocus, BUT, we have to watch a different horror movie if we can't watch IT."
You thought for a moment before nodding "Okay, fine, but nothing with clowns!"
He chuckled, grabbing you and pulling you back into his chest. He pressed a kiss to your temple "Okay, nothing with clowns."

Summary: Bones' SO hurts themselves on an away mission and has to stitch themselves up as well as they can to buy time for a med evac to the Enterprise
Word Count: 1,533
Category: Fluff, Humor, a little bit of Angst
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"Shit," I hissed, pressing a hand to my side as I slid down the wall. When I finally got up the courage to pull my hand back and look, it came away with a lot more blood than I'd hoped to find. I'd fallen pretty far and managed to avoid any broken bones based on my pain levels, but the wound in my side was gaping and looked concerningly serious.
I could practically hear the extended bridge crew chorusing "I told you so" from here.
As if on cue, my communicator beeped. I grimaced, but managed to take it out of my bag and open it to respond.
"What's up?" I groaned.
"Y/N, where are you?" came the voice of Jim Kirk, one of my best friends and the captain of the Enterprise. "Scotty's reporting he can only find two targets to beam up."
Dammit. That figured.
"I'm... not totally sure. I was trying to follow the signature on my tricorder to that plant I've been looking for when the ground just gave way under me. I'm not sure how far I fell, but I hit something pretty hard on the way down and I've got... quite the gash in my side."
Silence on the other end for a few moments, then:
"Hang tight. We're coming to find you."
The communicator hung up with a click, and I sighed, ignoring the flare of pain in my side. I had faith in Jim's determination and ability to find me, especially with Spock here helping him, but I still needed to do something if I wanted to be alive when they found me.
Thankfully, I'd watched my boyfriend, Doctor Leonard McCoy, stich people up often enough that I felt fairly confident I could do a passable job on myself. I dug some sewing supplies out of my bag that I hadn't removed from my last away mission misadventure, and pulled the hem of my shirt up to get a better look at the wound.
I grimaced, gritting my teeth and trying to prepare for this. I'd been so excited to join Kirk and Spock on this away mission. This planet was supposed to have one of the rarest plants in the galaxy, and I'd been looking forward to finding it since I'd first heard we'd be coming here. And now, I was at the bottom of this pit or cave or whatever, slowly bleeding out, without even a picture of the plant to show for it.
Ugh.
I tried to focus on my breathing as I threaded a needle and put it to my skin. I knew the wound needed to be disinfected before I totally closed it, but I didn't have anything on me to do that with, and I knew Bones would be able to take care of it for me if I could manage to get back to him.
I took a few deep breaths to steel myself, then stuck the needle through. I swore loudly and kept up a steady stream of expletives as I sewed up the wound. I pulled it closed as tightly as I dared, then held my jacket to my waist to try to staunch the remainder of the bleeding.
I sighed, long and hard, then leaned my head back against the wall of whatever hole I'd fallen into. I had no idea how long those stitches had taken me, but it certainly hadn't been quick. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too much longer before I heard Jim and Spock stumbling down some passage towards me.
I focused on deep breaths as the pain continued to throb in my side, completely zoning out to the time and environment around me. Finally, I heard some shuffling movement from a slightly more gradual incline up ahead of me. The voices of my friends echoed out, curious and searching.
"Y/N!"
"I'm here!" I called back, my voice a little weaker than normal. I cleared my throat, then tried again. "Here!"
A moment later, my friends came into view. Jim grinned at me as Spock started scanning the space, probably trying to decide on the best way to get me out of here.
"How're you holding up?" asked Jim. I forced a smile.
"Living the dream."
He scoffed, then moved to crouch beside me and put one of my arms over his shoulder.
"Spock! Come help me."
"We'll need to get around the corner and most of the way back up the incline we came down to reach a spot where Mr. Scott can register us," said Spock as he joined us. "There seems to be some property of this rock that's prohibiting the transporter signal from reaching us."
"Great," I huffed, grimacing as my friends pulled me to my feet. Even resting most of my weight on them, I was still seeing spots. "This is gonna be great."
Between the three of us, somehow, we managed to get back into transporter range. I almost lost consciousness at one point, but we'd paused, and I'd managed to pull myself back from the brink. When the Enterprise's transporter room finally materialized before me, the relief was palpable, not least of all because Bones was waiting for me.
"Y/N," he said, jumping to attention and rushing onto the pad to replace Jim at my side. With Spock's help, we started moving immediately for the Med Bay. "What happened?"
"I was following the signature of the plant I was looking for on my tricorder. Then all of a sudden, the ground gave way underneath me. It wasn't a straight drop, I don't think, but I fell a pretty long way, bouncing off the rock slide and the walls of the cave I fell into on the way down. I'm bruised, but I don't think it's anything bad besides the cut on my stomach."
Bones nodded. "We'll get you to Med Bay and make sure."
Luckily, my boyfriend was very good at staying calm and focused in a crisis for his patients. He was completely in the zone as he and Spock helped me into a bed once we reached Med Bay, and then Bones started checking my vitals and assessing my injuries. I watched him carefully for any break in his usual bedside manner to tell me if I needed to be worried about something, but none came.
Hopefully that was a good sign, and not just because he was an incredible doctor.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity to me, Bones returned from his testing and reappeared by  my bedside. His hands were on his hips, but he seemed calmer, and definitely out of intense doctor mode.
"Alright, the good news is you'll be just fine. But I'm still gonna need to disinfect the wound and stitch you up," he said. I gave him the best smile I could muster.
"Sounds like a plan."
He sighed, then gently lifted my shirt high enough to give him access to the gash in my side. The light touch of his fingertips sent goosebumps along my skin, but I did my best to ignore them, especially as Bones frowned.
"What the hell did you do to yourself?" he asked, not looking away from his work on my side.
"Uh... I slammed into a rock. We covered this already, remember?"
"No, I didn't mean your injury." Bones paused and looked up at me, the smallest smile tugging at his lips. "I meant these stitches. Yikes."
I scoffed and rolled my eyes, making Bones chuckle as he got back to work.
"Okay, whatever. I'm a biologist, not a doctor, dammit. I think I did a pretty good job, considering the circumstances."
"Mm, I guess so. Barely."
"Hey!" I laughed, hitting him lightly in the shoulder. "You better knock it off or I'm gonna start practicing my stitches on you."
Bones snorted, but I could see the smile on his face as he continued working. Thanks to the medical facilities of the Enterprise, it barely hurt as he undid my messy job and redid it with a much better one of his own.
"So... what are you doing after this?" I asked after a few long moments of letting him work in peace. He paused to look up at me again, one eyebrow raised.
"Don't tell me you're hitting on your own boyfriend after only the low-level painkillers I gave you?"
"I can and will hit on my own boyfriend whenever I want, no painkillers required. But I was mostly asking if you had other patients to deal with after me, or if you'd be free to come cuddle on the couch and eat junk food with me. I think it'd really help speed up my recovery process."
Bones' mouth quirked into a smile again as he put the finishing touches on my stitches.
"Well if it's for the wellness of a patient... I think Nurse Chapel might be willing to take over from me for the rest of the day."
"Thank goodness for Christine."
Bones and I shared a smile, then he returned to his work and I watched him contentedly. Obviously, life and death situations on away missions were never ideal—but I couldn't really bring myself to be upset about how this one had played out, even if I hadn't managed to get my plant in the end.

Can some lovely people please recommend me some Star Trek TOS fanfics where the character portrayal is VERY canonical/accurate in your opinion? Would love hurt-comfort /whump/damsel in distress of someone of the triumvirate (bonus points if it’s Bones but not necessary) and where all three are in focus and have cute or interesting or angsty moments with each other. Please and thank you. Will leave the authors comments!

Save Her! (Kirk/Spock)
Tumblr media
Description: Kirk sends his and Spock’s girlfriend on an away mission without them due to a meeting.....
Word Count: 1,935
Request:Hi, if you’re comfortable, could I request a star trek fanfic where both Kirk and Spock are y/n’s boyfriends (poly relationship). Maybe they’re on an away mission together and their girl gets into trouble and they have to save her. Thank you <3
Author’s note: I missed the part about them being on the mission together but I feel like it’s still pretty good
Lying in bed Y/N was nervous for this mission. It was a big one and not just because of the description but because her boyfriends were not gonna be there with her. Kirk hated that he couldn’t reschedule the meeting that he and Spock had but he trusted her and Bones so he had hoped that everything would be okay.
Spock also was worried but didn’t show it like Kirk did. Y/N was cuddled against Spock while Kirk spooned her. He was still asleep but Spock and Y/N were wide awake dreading today. Even with Bones and Scotty there Y/N couldn’t help but feel scared. She needed her boyfriends there but it was not possible.
“It will be okay.” Spock told her like he could tell she was scared. “I hope so.” Kirk stirred in his sleep and Spock checked the clock. Kirk had 5 minutes left of sleep before he had to get up. “I must get up and get ready.” He told her and she nodded. She leaned up and gave him a kiss on the lips before letting him get up.
Her moving caused Kirk to wake, “Good morning.” He mumbled to her and she giggled. “Is it a good morning though?” She asked. He sighed and pulled her closer, “I hope so. I’m very nervous about today.” He told her and she agreed. “You must get up Jim. We have that meeting.” Spock tells him and Kirk mocks him. Y/N giggles and pushes him out of bed. “I’ll be fine.” She tells him. But would she?
She was shaking in her boots and it wasn’t just from the coldness of the planet. Bones, Scotty and her were covered in blankets and coats as they went on a hunt for shelter. “You think we are getting closer?” She yelled over the wind to her friends.
Bones grumbled something and Scotty pointed ahead. It looked like a cave. They were miles away from it and she hoped they would make it before they couldn’t walk anymore. It was that cold. “Good thing we came prepared.” Scotty yelled and that was the truth.
Time was slowing as they walked to the cave. It felt like hours but it was only 20 minutes until they reached it. All three were shaking and colder than the planet itself it seemed. Bones was dragging the wood into the cave which was heavy. “Either of you could have helped.” He told them as they walked into the cave. “Ey you were the one to find the wood.” Scotty told the man. “At Least we can light it now.” Y/N told the men and they agreed.
Y/N looked around and scanned the cave for anything. The cave was quiet and cold but maybe that was a good thing. With it being daylight out they could still see some of the cave. “Guys light the fire.” She told them, still shaking from the cold. “Wanna come over here and help?” Bones asked with a little sass.
They all sat around the fire and talked a little. Y/N wondered how Spock and Kirk were doing and hoped that they weren’t worrying like she was. “Guys, we left the food by the entrance.” She said as she looked for it. “We left it outside the cave. It might be frozen by now.” Bones said and she sighed. She got up and started walking. “Want us to come?” Scotty asked and she told him No. She was a big girl, she had this.
But she thought that too soon because once she was outside to grab the food she got attacked by some creature and screamed. Bones and Scotty stood up and looked at each other in terror before running to the entrance of the cave. They saw the creature carrying an unconscious Y/N and yelled out. “We have to get in contact with Jim and Spock.” Bones told Scotty.
The meeting was over and they were back in their quarters. Spock who was more calm then Jim watched as he paced the room. “Pacing will not help.” Spock told him and Jim chuckled, “Yeah well sitting here won’t help either.” Kirk was more than nervous. He wanted to find them right now and just make sure that everything was okay. He couldn’t lose her, they couldn’t lose her.
Spock was about to say something when the comms went off. Kirk ran over to his and picked it up. “Bones to Kirk.” It was breaking up but luckily he could understand it. “Kirk here.” He said as his heart beat. Spock joined him as they tried to listen to what Bones was saying. “And she’s lost.” Was all they heard. “What?” Kirk nearly yelled through the comm. She was lost?
“Some creature took her and we need help!” Kirk felt his heart drop, this was his biggest fear and why he never had her go on a mission without him or Spock. “We are coming.” Spock said and though Kirk could sense nervousness in his voice he masked it very well.
“Beam us down right now.” Kirk demanded the ensign as Spock and he ran to the transporter. Cliche as it was, it didn't work and Kirk was freaking out. Spock had never seen him act like this but they also have never been in this situation before. “We need to take a shuttle down there.” He was spewing ideas and Spock placed a hand on his shoulder, “Jim, we will get to her.” He told his boyfriend.
Jim knew that Spock had better control on his emotions but during this how could he? “How are you so calm right now? Our girlfriend might be dead and you are just acting like it’s fine?” He yelled at Spock who raised his eyebrows. Spock was not acting like it was fine or to him he wasn’t but Kirk took his calmness to heart. “Jim I am not trying-” “I am freaking the fuck out right now and I don’t need your comfort! I need us down there looking for her! And I need you to act like you give a shit.” That set Spock off.
“I do give a shit, I just know that acting illogically won’t help the situation.” He yelled at Kirk. Kirk’s eyes widened at the outburst and they were beamed down onto the planet. They looked around and tried to ignore the cold. They had a coat and blanket but that was it. They should have more but they both were freaking out. Jim used his comm to let Bones know that they landed and were on the hunt for Y/N. “The cave I see it!” Spock said and the two, cold as can be, ran like hell to the cave.
Scotty saw them halling ass to them and waved them over. Thankfully they got transported closer to the cave then Bones, Y/N and Scotty did. “Where the hell is she?” Kirk asked Scotty. “The creature took her to an underground cave a few miles that way.” “Bones?” Spock asked. “By or inside the cave.” They nodded and followed Scotty to where the creature was. Kirk had never looked more pissed and nervous than he did now.
The cave was more creepy than the one that they were in. “She’s in here?” “Should be.” Kirk, without a thought, went into the cave. Spock followed but hated that they didn’t come up with a plan. The cave was darker than the last one and more silent if that was possible. They could hear soft cries of what sounded like their girlfriend. “Y/N?” Kirk whispered and ran to the noise. Spock followed knowing how illogically it was.
“Please don’t hurt me.” She cried to them. Kirk felt his heart break at that. Spock leaned down and shined the light on her. “It is okay t’hy’la. We are here.” Spock told her. “We’re gonna get you out of here.” Kirk told her. “He’ll be back soon.” She whispered. “Who will be back?” Kirk asked and Y/N sighed. “The creature that took me.” Kirk looked around, “Maybe we can get you out of here before that.” Kirk had hope but Y/N didn’t. “He’s strong hun, he knocked me out.” Y/N told him and they heard a noise.
Hoping that it was Scotty. “We will get you out of here and then after we will get married.” Y/N looked at Kirk like he was crazy. Married? “It is something we have talked about.” Spock told her and the footsteps got louder, it was definitely not Scotty. Kirk and Spock kissed her before hiding. “Jim, is that you?” A whisper asked and they turned to the noise. “Bones?” Jim felt like a terrible friend cuz he forgot about him.
“Yes it’s me. I managed to sneak past the creature before it left.” “Why did you not attack it?” Spock asked. “My phaser broke and Y/N no longer has hers.” Bones told them. Kirk hit the two as he noticed the 8 foot tall creature that was moving towards Y/N. She was whimpering in fear as the creature stalked towards her. Was it going to eat her? Kirk was thinking of the worst. Could the three of them take it? Spock noticed it was limping towards as if it was attacked already.
Scotty! He wasn’t in the cave with them. “Please.” Y/N whispered as it leaned down and sniffed her face. Kirk had to act now before it was too late but only had a phaser. Spock was looking for something to kill it with. Jim aimed the phaser at the creature with shaky hands. It hit the creature but didn’t kill it. The creature yelled in pain and stepped away from Y/N.
Jim kept hitting it with the phaser hoping it would kill it eventually. Scotty must have heard it scream cuz he ran forward with a piece of wood and hit it. Jim watched as it barely affected the creature but got an idea from it. They needed to make it into a sphere or light it on fire. “Spock, I have an idea.”
Kirk ran over to Scotty who nearly screamed in fear until he realized it was Kirk. “We need to set the wood on fire.” Scotty nodded. The creature saw the two and tried to attack but Spock hit it in the foot that was injured. It nearly fell as Kirk used the phaser to set the wood on fire. It burned and he threw it at the creature. For once the entire cave was lit up and everyone stared as the creature caught on fire.
Kirk and Spock ran over to Y/N who was quivering and helped her get loose for the chains. Y/N quickly hugged them but Bones was yelling, “We have to go.” They quickly got up and Spock carried her out of the cave leaving the screaming creature behind. Spock wrapped Y/N in the blanket with him as they got away from the cave.
“5 to beam up.” Kirk called into the comm and thankfully this time it worked. Y/N looked around and sighed in relief that she was back on the enterprise. Kirk sighed in relief that she was okay. “I need a hot shower.” She mumbled into Spock’s neck and he chuckled, something he didn’t do often but he was happy.
Y/N showered in the hot water and sighed. It felt amazing but even more amazing cuz her boyfriends joined her. “I’m glad you’re okay.” Kirk told her and Spock agreed. She smiled and pulled them closer under the water with her. “Now about that wedding?”

Don't do anything stupid (1)
Bones thinks you and Captain Kirk are very similar, and it takes an away mission to prove him right.
Captain Kirk x reader
Fluff and Adventure (Completed Series) Warning: minor blood, needles, minor injuries. mild violence This is a rewrite of a fic called "Another You" I did. Fixed it up a bit. Read Part 2 here <3
Tumblr media
Dr. McCoy was at it again, trying to coerce you into visiting the Med Bay. This time, he seemed to think that threatening to involve the Captain would somehow sway your decision.
“I’m telling you right now, Y/N, you can’t go on your away mission without getting your immunizations for this planet,” McCoy said, leaning against the counter like he had no intention of leaving. “Ever heard of the Quazulu VIII Virus? No? That’s because there’s a vaccine for it!”
“Dr. McCoy, it’s just a quick trip to the planet to grab a few specimens. I won’t be staying for the diplomatic engagements like the rest of the team,” you explained, continuing to pack your equipment in the research ward.
Your preparations were nearly complete when the ship’s chief medical officer decided to ambush you. The task was straightforward: collect samples of water and nearby vegetation. This planet had only recently become accessible, and much of its biological features remained a mystery.
McCoy gave you a pointed look, his expression clearly unimpressed. “As a scientist, I’d think you’d be the first to appreciate the importance of vaccines,” he grumbled.
“On the contrary, Doctor,” you retorted with a smirk, carefully placing empty sterile test tubes into your case. “I firmly believe medicines like vaccines are life-saving. But as a scientist, I’m also keenly aware of just how dirty hospitals and Med Bays can be.”
His face contorted in a mix of offense and exasperation, as he threw his hands in the air.
“You do realize you’re going on an away mission to a planet that is far from sterile—to literally play in the dirt,” he mocked, crossing his arms as he tilted his head in mock dismissal. “And when you get injured, will you refuse medical care, too?”
You recognized the "gotcha" moment he was relishing—and he wasn’t entirely wrong. The truth was, you just hated needles. They grossed you out.
“I’ll be careful,” you stated confidently, adding a playful wink, which earned an unimpressed scoff from the young doctor.
“Fine, you don’t like my Med Bay, but what if I gave you the shots here?” he countered, tilting his head slightly.
You hesitated, but admittedly, it wasn’t a bad compromise. The Med Bay gave you more of a sinking feeling than the needles themselves ever did. You’d always noticed that too many people who went in didn’t come out—or if they did, they weren’t the same. That persistent sense of dread lingered every time you stepped through its doors.
“If this place is too dirty for you, then you’ve only got yourself to blame,” McCoy added dryly, motioning around the room. “You are, after all, the head lab runner.”
You pretended to mull it over, feigning indecision for a moment before muttering your reluctant agreement. “Fine. Go get them, then.” It was standard policy to receive the immunizations, and deep down, you knew they’d be a lifesaver if something went wrong on the mission.
“Great!” he exclaimed, grabbing a red bag you hadn’t even noticed he’d brought in. Your jaw dropped as he began pulling out the vaccines.
“You knew I’d agree?” you asked, narrowing your eyes suspiciously as you reluctantly took a seat on the stool in front of him.
You had spent countless hours working alongside Dr. McCoy in the labs, and you liked to think you knew him well. What you hadn’t anticipated was just how well he seemed to know you—including your aversion to the Med Bay.
“I deal with you the same way I deal with him,” McCoy said as he prepared one of the doses. He paused, smirking as if a thought had just struck him. “You two are a lot alike.”
“Who?” you asked, curious about who you were being compared to, as you rolled up your sleeve.
Before McCoy could answer, the doors to your lab chimed, signalling someone’s arrival. You kept your eyes tightly shut, bracing yourself. McCoy had your skin pinched at the top of your arm, and you knew the needle was coming.
“Bones? We’re supposed to be having breakfast,” a familiar voice said. You jumped—and not because of the needle. “Chapel said you were here waiting for me…”
Your eyes snapped open. “You were actually going to tell the Captain on me?” you muttered through gritted teeth, glaring at McCoy. A small chuckle sounded from across the room, drawing your attention. Your gaze locked with his piercing blue eyes, and your heart skipped a beat.
“Y/N,” Kirk said, walking over and leaning casually on the counter in front of you. “Causing trouble?” His tone was light, laced with amusement.
“Captain,” you mumbled, feeling your face heat up as you turned back to McCoy, who looked far too pleased with himself.
“Jim,” McCoy interjected, preparing the second dose with a practiced ease. “Why don’t you explain to our young scientist here the importance of getting inoculated before an away mission?” He glanced at you with a smirk. “After all, you have the most experience finding out the hard way.”
Ignoring the second half of McCoy’s comment—one you were far more interested in hearing about—you turned your attention to the Captain who asked, “Y/N, will you be coming tonight?” His voice was so alluring, that it sent a slight tremor through you.
Clearing your throat, you offered a simple response. “Yes, Sir.” It was all you could manage, as it often was when you found yourself in conversation with him. He was so handsome, so kind, and so funny—it was incredibly intimidating.
“And Bones is giving you trouble,” he said with a soft chuckle, breaking your gaze as he began to casually scan the lab. He had a habit of doing that whenever he came in to talk to McCoy—picking around at things like a child unable to sit still.
You watched him smile to himself as he pulled open your backpack for the mission, his easygoing nature only adding to the warmth in your chest. Then, something about how he had called McCoy ‘Bones’ dawned on you. “Bones?”
“Don’t start calling me that too,” McCoy grumbled, clearly unamused.
“Ouch!” you jerked at the unexpected jab, your focus finally breaking from the Captain. You began rubbing your arm, still sensitive from the injection. “You didn’t warn me,” you muttered, your voice tinged with mild frustration.
“You’ll survive,” McCoy said dismissively, preparing the last dose. After a moment, he added, “Captain, you were about to explain the merits of getting all your inoculations.”
It was odd to hear Dr. McCoy refer to the blonde man by his official title, and it seemed to dawn on him as well. “Right,” Kirk muttered, dropping everything he was tinkering with and walking back over to you. “As your captain, I’d inform you that it is mandatory, and refusal can compromise the health and overall well-being of the crew…” He finished with a thumbs-up directed at the doctor.
To be honest, you weren’t really listening. His voice was far too distracting for lectures. So, it wasn’t until you heard the clatter of the final needle hitting the counter that you realized McCoy had finished with you. “All done,” he announced.
As you began pulling your sleeve down, the Captain cleared his throat. “If that’s everything, then—”
“Oh, Jim,” Dr. McCoy interrupted, launching out of his chair and grabbing the Captain’s arm before he could say another word. “Leaders lead by example… Can’t be a hypocrite now.”
You noticed the three other needles lined up on the counter. This had been McCoy’s plan all along. Despite feeling a bit of satisfaction that you weren’t the only one afraid of needles, you couldn’t resist teasing, “For the well-being of the crew and all.”
“Right,” the Captain replied with a dejected sigh, taking the spot McCoy had just vacated. His warmth brushed against you as his shoulder lightly nudged yours. “Just make it fast,” he muttered, lifting his shirt just enough to free his arm. Your eyes darted anywhere but at him.
“You two are very similar,” McCoy remarked, earning a scoff from you.
Feeling the eyes of both men on you, your cheeks flushed with heat. You hadn’t meant anything negative by your comment; you simply couldn’t imagine having much in common. He was important and useful, and you… well, you played in the dirt.
The silence stretched on, and feeling embarrassed, you muttered, “We do have a pretty good style.” You were thinking of the mandatory uniforms you all wore. While yours perfectly matched McCoy’s, the Captain’s gold uniform complemented him far too well.
The Captain softly chuckled, about to add something before a jab of the needle interrupted him. He let out a hiss of pain.
“Dammit, Jim, stay still,” McCoy muttered before adding, “You’re just proving my point.”
“What? That we’re both good at making fun of you? Have a good sense of humour?” You laughed, debating whether now was a good time to ask about the Bones nickname.
“You like my sense of humour?” the Captain asked, looking down at you. You were flustered over what you had just admitted, but thankfully, McCoy spoke up.
“You both like causing me stress and making my job harder than it already is.” The doctor complained though the small smirk on his face betrayed his irritation.
“That’s hurtful, Bones,” you said sweetly, finally using the nickname Jim always called him.
“Dammit, Jim,” McCoy muttered under his breath as the final needle clattered to the table. “Just promise me you both won’t do anything stupid tonight.”

★ WHEN YOU’RE SICK — STAR TREK.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-> characters: jim kirk, spock, leonard mccoy, nyota uhura, montgomery scott, pavel chekov, hikaru sulu, christine chapel, janice rand
-> authors note: this isn’t specifically tos/aos btw you can read it as either (i wrote it with tos in mind but it can definitely be perceived as either). also not directly romantic or platonic but implied reader is super close with the characters
word count: 1.4k || masterlist
Tumblr media
⋆。° ✮ jim kirk
for the most part, he’ll kind of just let you be. he knows that you’re sick and for the most part just want to lay down and try to feel better, and he’s a captain who really can’t get sick in the first place so he doesn’t get to see you much anyway. he leaves the bridge a few times he shouldn’t to check on you or just see how you’re doing. if you ask him to bring you something he’ll kind of roll his eyes and smile a bit in a joking manner, like he can’t believe that you’re asking him but he doesn’t actually really care and brings it anyway. after his shift, he comes and checks on you immediately and stays for awhile at your bedside. he gives in immediately if you ask him to stay and ends up also getting sick over the next few days which drives spock and bones absolutely insane, but he still believes it was worth it.
⋆。° ✮ spock
spock would be a little avoidant, but for the reason he thinks it’s not worth it for both of you to get sick. he’ll still check up on you however or ask every other hour or so how you’re doing, and occasionally checks up on you on his own a couple of times so he doesn’t feel something akin to worry as well. i think he’d bring you things without you having to ask. maybe he had a feeling or something you were hungry or thirsty, and the next time he sees you, he’s got water and/or food. he does this because while he’s very busy and can’t be around you all day and bringing you things all day, he still doesn’t think it’s smart for you to be walking around on your own so he just brings what he thinks you’ll need. he also does it to subtly show he was thinking about you (he was worried).
⋆。° ✮ bones mccoy
the second bones has even the slightest inkling you’re not up to perfect health, he’s all over you about it. he’ll quite literally either just find you in the hallway or specifically call you to his office so he can give you shit for working while sick. after that, he specifically puts you under his care almost immediately. for the most part, he’s still kind of bitchy but he does loosen up and gets slowly nicer throughout the day as you continue to be sick. he doesn’t bring you anything himself on his own time but if you asked him and there’s nobody else around, he’ll sigh and go get your water or extra blanket or whatever you wanted. for the most part, he’ll just tell a nurse to do that. he’s by your side most of the day, except he’ll tell you it’s because he doesn’t want you to leave the sickbay and pass out or do something dumb, but it’s really because you’re his top priority to get out of the sickbay. he does notttt wanna see you sick
⋆。° ✮ nyota uhura
worried, but somehow in the most calmest way possible. i think she’d catch you working while sick rather talk to you immediately when you wake up and realize you’re sick. you’re probably walking around in the hallway with sweaty skin, major fever, on the verge of passing out and she takes you into a room where you guys can sit down and she just says so calmly “you really shouldn’t have come to work today” and then walks you back, tells whoever you work with that you’re sick, and then takes you to your quarters. she doesn’t stay since she has her own job, but after her shift she comes back and sits at your bedside and just like checks up on you and sees if you need anything or for her to give you medicine or water or food or something. absolutely she teases you when you’re not sick anymore
⋆。° ✮ montgomery scott
lowkey he doesn’t notice at first. he just assumes that you’ve worked too hard for too long and tells you to take a break for a bit. when you come back, still shaken and still sickly, he’s befuddled because he was under the impression you just were overworked. he keeps an eye out for the rest of the day after that, and also makes sure to give you some of the easier jobs until he figures out what’s wrong and the appropriate means of fixing it. once he does (finally) come to the conclusion that you’re not feeling well, he’s really calm about it. he ends up just taking you somewhere you guys can sit down and he’ll get you something to eat and drink and then just like talk to you for a few minutes, he drops you off at your quarters afterwards and lets dr. mccoy now that you’re sick
⋆。° ✮ pavel chekov
will not leave you alone at all. he genuinely takes the whole day off to look after you and everything. it’s kind of like a package deal, you’re sick so he gets to stay with you. for the most part he’d be really sweet and would fold and do basically anything you asked of him soooo quickly <3 but he can also be really clingy and kinda touchy by accident, but for the most part he really wants to take care of you while you’re sick. he’s perfect for running and getting you things. the second you ask him he stands up and runs away and comes back two seconds later with whatever you asked him for. he’s bad with medicine and regularly checking your condition however, so he gets really annoyed when there’s the occasional nurse/bones himself coming into your room to check on you but also kind of yell at him for not keeping them updated. he’d also 100% get sick after and act like it’s your fault just to become whiny and pathetic within an hour.
⋆。° ✮ hikaru sulu
he might be the best person to take care of you in this lineup. he leaves you alone when you’re sleeping and does his own thing, brings you soups he made himself with herbs to heal you, and actually regularly checks in and makes sure your not getting worse. he doesn’t fully leave you alone though, he will occasionally come in for a little bit and you guys can hang out while you like lay there and listen to him talk or vice versa until he has to leave to do something else. i feel like he doesn’t necessarily find out your sick from you and more-so hears about it and thinks “oh. i’ll go take care of them cause why not” so you’re under his care for the whole time. typa guy to also lowkey sit with you in bed every night and kinda like gossip and fill you in on anything you missed. but only for a little bit because after like 30 mins he tells you to rest so you feel better
⋆。° ✮ christine chapel
when you’re dragged into her office looking half dead on a random afternoon she kinda just sighs and lays you down on one of the beds. she’s very sweet while she takes care of you, but you can still see part of her wishes she had something more eventful to do. she’s another person who’s absolutely fantastic to be taken care of (the ranking is: bones, sulu, chapel btw). makes you take the most awful thickest worst tasting medicine ever but it’s after effects are absolutely delightful. while she gives it to you she says “it won’t taste good, but it’ll feel good when it kicks in.” and kinda smiles. you wouldn’t have to be embarrassed to throw up in front of her because she encourages it, tells you that if you don’t wanna be sick you have to throw up. she’d hold your hair back for you and bring you something to drink afterwards before sitting on the edge of your bed just to talk about whatever for a few minutes.
⋆。° ✮ janice rand
she wouldn’t say something to you directly, but she’d tell whatever senior officer you’re around the most that she doesn’t think you’re feeling well. she visits you later, however. janice is smart, and she knows you’re gonna ask her for something, so instead she tries to think of important things you might ask her for like entertainment or food or water and just brings it all. she’d try to do it in a way where it just looks like she’s taking care of you, but she does kind of make it like a sleepover (where she doesn’t actually sleep over, she stays until you fall asleep peacefully) because she knows it’ll be more enjoyable for you. i think after you fall asleep she’d like tuck you in a little bit and make sure you’re warm and comfy before leaving <3 she never speaks a word of it again and acts so casual about the night afterwards if it’s mentioned

His pace was strong and exact as he walked through the ships shining white hallway. Hair cut to a precise straight line with pointed ears, a shining example of his Valcan linage.
His uniform was nothing short of excellent, no wrinkle or crease would dare disturb it's perfection. The tablet in his hand had many names of crew members across the screen.
Behind him, hundreds of cadets, Ensign's and officers ran through the hallway. Some carrying baggage or equipment for the long journey that lay ahead.
The blue, red, and yellow uniforms looked like smudged lines to Spock. No one daring to crash into him or hinder his way, as his intense focus on the tablet demanded his presence to be known.
Behind him came a red uniform, short skirted Lieutenant Commander Uhura runs closer. Her pace quickened to a jog to catch up to him. She dodged one of the Cadets carrying heavy boxes until she finally caught up to Spock.
"Spock!" she called to him but his attention never faltered from the tablet screen.
One name of the many pops up and he selects it. The profile of Ensign Y/n L/n appeared.
"What is it, Uhura?"
"I just needed to enquire on the specific time of launch."
Spock scrolls down to the information on the profile.
"There's no question, we leave O' eight hundred hours, current planet time. We've given everyone sufficient time to prepare for a life long expedition of exploration."
Uhura growls and dodges another Cadet carrying some equipment and engineering tools.
"Yes I understand! But some Cadets have questioned the captains choice to bring inexperienced Ensign's on board for this mission."
Spock finally stops once they've reached the back of the hallway with a large door at the end. His hands are placed behind his back delicately and without hesitation he answers.
"Uhura, I can see the unease that this may have caused. However our Captain has never put us in harms way before and he certainly won't now. I trust Kirk's decisions whole heartedly."
Uhura sighs and nods slowly. Her arms fold into a somewhat comforting hug.
"I guess I should too. It's just a really big decision for everyone to make. There's a chance we may never come home."
She slowly glances through the large window beside them at the spinning blue and green planet below.
Spock looks at earth and then back at her.
"The U.S.S Enterprise is our home now. And like earth. We must protect it."
She laughs a little through her nose at Spock.
"Yeah, you're right."
With a small hand, she pats on his shoulder and then makes her way back down the hallway.
"Oh! And Good luck with the new Ensign!" she calls back to him before disappearing into the corridor.
Finally, the hallway seemed a little quieter. Spock looks back down at his tablet and scrolls through the profile. The first thing he noticed is no picture of the Ensign. Odd.
The second thing he notices is the lack of specified species. The Enterprise was a decorated vessel with many mixed species staff. A proud ship of the The United Federation of Planets.
The doors at the end of the hallway finally slide open.
"Ensign L/n! You're-"
He looks up at the new Ensign but stops when he sees a short bodied, light blue skinned species. Not a harsh blue, but a pale skin tone similar to the planet Andoria.
The blue uniform perfectly hugging their figure and snow-white hair covering their ears.
"...-Late."
He finishes looking at their profile then back at them.
"Sir, I'm sorry. They had some trouble confirming my authentication due to my incomplete file."
They look down shyly. Holding a suitcase and a box of glass tubes and bottles.
"Then let's make an effort to complete it."
Spock walks a circle around them them with a raised eyebrow as he studied their species.
"Tell me, Ensign, what's your species? Your skin and hair would suggest Andorian. However, I see no antennae."
Y/n slowly scratches the bottom of their ear and clears their throat.
"I am Andorian, sir. I lost my antennas in a chemical accident."
Again, Spock looks down at his tablet. His face showing no visible confusion, but he was, in fact, a little confused. Yet also mesmerized.
"It says here you're a Medical Ensign."
They quickly nod watching Spock.
"Yes! Chemistry is my main practice. I can't have the Medical Officer mixing the wrong, atorvastatin with fluticasone and causing someone to come down with some disease!"
They finish their explication but quickly step back after.
"Apologies! I didn't mean to sound so accusatory."
Spock nods before turning on his heel and starting his walk.
"Not at all, I am Vulcan. We try to keep our emotions-"
"-Controlled." Y/n says, catching up to him.
"Yes, I'm aware." they confess, looking down.
Spock squints for a second before looking back at the tablet for some information.
"Now, your room is on deck 37. This deck is reserved for medical and research personnel. Med Bay is also on deck 37."
He explains as they walk to the turbolift, taking them both up to Deck 37. The lift is filled with a few seconds of awkward silence. Spock takes this time to study his blue skinned Ensign.
Their existence is shrouded in mystery. The story of their antennas being chemically detached is questionable, Andorian's antenna grow back after time. Their short stature compared to many of the tall built andorians. An incomplete file made Spock's curiosity spark.
Finally arriving at their room. Spock hands them a key card. He turns his back to them without a goodbye.
"Spock!" Y/n calls.
Spock turns back to them. A darkened blue color covered their cheeks like blush would a human's face.
"Yes, Ensign?"
Y/n takes a breath of confidence and looks at Spock.
"Thank you for accompanying me. You have other duties to see to. But I appreciate your time."
Spock only bows his head.
"It's my duty, Ensign. Now hurry to your medical checkups. We launch in 5 hours."
Y/n gives a happy nod, then entering their room with a little excited skip.
Spock couldn't tell why, but his heart gave a pleased thump when he saw the excitement from Y/n. A young new Ensign is unaware of the vastness of space that lays ahead.
The crew started settling into their bunks and rooms with quick paced ease. A fast five hour jump to the launch and Spock was confident in his preparation.
He was sat at his launch pad watching all systems make necessary calculations. As Head Commanding Science Officer and First Officer. He had to be sure the Enterprise was ready for Captain Kirk's arrival.
A sudden hand placed on Spock's shoulder pulls him from his thought process. Jim Kirk stood behind him. His close friend and captain. Even though he was human, Kirk knew what to say to let Spock know everything was ok.
"Well, Spock! How's she lookin?"
Kirk questions.
Spock straightens himself out and with a proud, non emotional face, then says.
"She is, in human terms, Spick and span!"
Kirk smiles giving Spock a good smack on the shoulder.
"Good! Because I'm about ready to head on a life long adventure. To explore strange new worlds!"
Kirk monologs while he strides over to the Captains chair. His palm slides over the arm rest and guides him to his seat.
"Yes, Captain. We're about ready for launch!"
Kirk smirks and turns to a button on his seat. Once he presses it the button starts broadcasting his voice though the entire ship.
"This is your Captain speaking."
Y/n was in a room with a scanner in their hand when they quickly look up at the speaker.
"We are preparing for Launch now. So to start off our journey. Here's a little quote from the very first Starship Captain. Captain Johnathan Archer."
Y/n smiled hearing the name of a big Historical hero. looking back at the Cadet they were doing a Medical check on. Y/n delicately pushes the Cadets head to the side and presses the scanner against their neck.
"He started the voyage by saying and I quote: 'We're going to stumble, make mistakes - I'm sure more than a few, before we find our footing. But we're going to learn From those mistakes. That's what being explorers is all about.'"
Captain Kirk smiles to himself hearing a few Crew members cheer down the hallway.
"This Voyage will be long. But it's purpose is to bring species together united. To Explore and to forge alliances. With that being said! Everyone hold tight!"
Cadets suddenly run off and hold steady to a rail or to anything nailed down. A brand new ship, Y/n stumbles past everyone while packing up the equipment. They look down at the list of Cadets to check but sees one name still open.
Spock had yet to be checked. With seconds before lift off, Y/n decides that the Bridge Control room isn't too far, and they might be able to make it there on time for launch.
With a little stumble, they make their way past the cadets and run for the lift to the Bridge.
Captain Kirk on the bridge looked at his pilot and smirked.
"Hit it!"
The ship yanks a little at the sudden force blasting them into hyperspace at warpspeed.
Y/n still in the turbo lift gets yanked forward suddenly and their hand slips from the rail with a heavy thud.
Spock holds carefully and waits till they get to an even pace. He watches everyone applaud as the ship steadied and they comfortably sat at hyperspeed.
The Captain pats the pilots on the back and Uhura gives Spock a smiling nod.
The lively energy circled though the bridge, even when Y/n fell through the door holding their head people surrounded them with cheers.
They smiled, clapping along and laughing a little before silence once again fell and everyone returned to their posts.
Uhura walks up to Y/n and shakes their hand. Brief conversation that Spock couldn't hear but he could tell Y/n was anxious.
Their hands clutching onto the medical case and their shoulders tightened into a straight, tense, posture.
"Y/n!" he called.
Y/n runs over to him with a thankful smile.
"Ensign, may I enquire as to your purpose on the bridge?"
Y/n sets their equipment down and stands straight at ease.
"Sir, I was on my way to take your vitals and complete medical check up's. But I was interrupted by launch! And I took the lift-"
During Y/n's anxious ramble, Spock studied her movements and noticed a light trickle of dark blue blood coming from beneath the white hair.
"Ensign."
"Yes sir! I know it was foolish! But I wanted to finish soon to get to other duties-"
"Y/n!" Spock's sudden voice brings Y/n's attention back to look up at him.
The chatter of crewmen in the background started fading out as Y/n's heartbeat took its place.
Spock delicately moves his fingertips to the side of their head and wipes the blood away bringing Y/n's attention to it.
"I.. Fell in the lift." they confess with their hand looking for the point of injury.
Spock looks down at the medical box and lifts it back off the ground.
"Ensign. I will report to Med bay for my medical check up in two hours. For the moment, see to your own medical care. Please."
A soft plea from Spock brought Y/n's heart back to a calm beating. They inhale and exhale slowly, focusing back on the problem at hand.
"Yes sir! I will be ready once you arrive!" Y/n says with a determined smile.
They take the bag with new found bravery but once again shyly smile at Spock before walking to the lift.
Uhura watches Y/n walk off and the doors slide shut as Uhura arrives at Spock's side.
"You saw it too?" Uhura questions still watching the lift doors.
"Yes. No Antenna scaring or any signs of growth. Andorian's antenna usually grow back in a matter of weeks."
Spock turns to Uhura and they start their deduction.
Spock continues :
"I considered the fact that it was a Chemical accident into my theory. However even a chemical wound wouldn't stop antennae from growth."
Uhura taps her finger on her folded arms while nodding in agreement.
"Y/n's accent has no clear signs of being raised in an andorian environment. No matter how faint the accent is. As the Communications officer I can hear it."
Spock takes a tablet off his desk and opens Y/n's profile once more.
"Y/n is not Andorian."

Day Eighteen Prompt: "You always have a plan."
Summary: Bones's SO has a Valentine's Day surprise planned for him that's fit for the CMO of the Enterprise.
Word Count: 1,295
Category: Fluff, Humor
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"Jim!"
My best friend, Jim Kirk, whirled around at the sound of my voice, one eyebrow raised. He was incredibly used to me and my shenanigans, so he didn't even look phased as I charged towards him while he waited for the machine to fill his cup with caf.
"I need you to distract Bones for, like, half an hour. Preferably today. And within the next hour," I said, only slightly breathless as I reached him.
"So... you want me to go distract Bones as soon as I get my caf?"
"Pretty much, yeah."
Jim grinned at me. "You know I'm in. But care to tell me why?"
"I've got a Valentine's Day suprirse I want to put together for him. It's the first time we've been a couple for the holiday, and I want to do something special."
"And I take it you already have a plan?" I gave Jim a withering look and he just laughed. "Of course. You always have a plan."
"Damn right I do. Now come on, take that caf to go and get out of here. I've got things to do today."
"Alright, alright, I'm going. But next time you pull me away from a rare break to help you with something, it better be for a prank. Not a date."
I grinned. "I think I can commit to that deal."
Jim smirked back at me, then raised his cup of caf in mock salute as he strode out of the cafeteria, off to distract Bones. I paused, letting him get a little bit ahead of me so there was no chance of running into him or my boyfriend on their way out of medical, then quickly made my way through the familiar hallways of the Enterprise.
Luckily for me, when I made it to sickbay (after one brief stop in my quarters), it was almost completely empty. Jim must've been doing as I'd asked in getting Bones out of here, and now, I had exactly the window I needed to pull off my Valentine's Day surprise.
I made my way to one of the heart rate monitors and popped open the back panel, then got to work breaking it the way I wanted to break it. Althought Starfleet Engineering hadn't covered exactly this kind of change to equipment on a starship, it had been a thorough enough course that I had the skills regardless.
Once I finished, I tested my handiwork, then grinned and made everything look like it had before I'd showed up. Finally, I snuck the bouquet of fresh roses I'd managed to secure on our last shore leave out of my bag, tucking them behind the pillows of the bed. I paused to take one last look at my setup, then took off out of sickbay with a grin. Not a moment later, I heard Jim's voice echoing loudly down the corridor, clearly trying to give me a heads up about his return with Bones.
I hid around the corner while Bones and Jim said their goodbyes, then waited for Jim's footsteps to fade in the opposite direction before turning the corner and reentering sickbay.
"Hey," I said, a small smile on my face as I found Bones just outside his office. "Happy Valentine's Day."
He'd had a slight frown on his face when he'd first turned around, but it dissolved the moment he saw me.
"Hey yourself. Happy Valentine's Day." He took a few steps closer to me, a faint smile growing on his face as he approached. "What brings you in? I wasn't expecting to get to see you until tonight."
"Actually... I'm feeling a little rough. I was hoping you could check me out."
Bones narrowed his eyes. "...Is this a bad pickup line?"
"What? No!"
He held up his hands in surrender, then gently stepped forward and took my elbow.
"Alright. Valentine's Day and all, I had to check. Let's get you on a bed."
"And you're talking to me about bad pickup lines?"
Bones snorted, and I grinned. I didn't wait for him to direct me to a bed, and instead I headed straight for the one I'd just finished modifying. Bones didn't even bat an eye at my decision, instead following me over and carefully getting me hooked up to the various monitoring machines.
"Do you want to tell me about your symptoms?" he asked as he worked. I sighed.
"I don't know, I just haven't been feeling well. A little lighthearted, a little fluttering in my chest."
I expected Bones to make another bad pickup line comment, but clearly, he'd switched into doctor mode. He just hummed as he continued to work.
"And what's been your food and water to caffeine ratio so far today?"
I grunted. "Food, water, and no caffeine so far, thank you very much."
Bones just gave me a look, which I couldn't really argue. Too much caffeine and not enough other, better fuel had been the cause of me not feeling good before, and we both knew it.
"Well, let's see what we can see here, hm?"
I barely managed to fight back a giddy smile as Bones turned to look at the monitor read out, including the heart rate monitor. What he found, instead of the normally reading beeping line, was the green line tracing the shape of a (non-anatomical) heart. I snuck my hand behind my pillow to retrieve the roses while Bones blinked at the display in shock.
"My god... what is..." He glanced from the monitor to me, then got halfway through turning back to the monitor before stopping to stay on me and my roses. His wide eyes and slightly-open mouth were instantly replaced with a squint and a frown. "What did you do to this monitor?"
"I made it cute for Valentine's Day!" I replied. I held out the roses to him, but before I could get through another word, he'd crossed his arms and fixed me with a glare.
"I thought something was seriously wrong, either with you or with my highly-sophisticated medical equipment, which is essential to the health and safety of this crew. What if we'd had an emergency situaiton before you could fix this, or even tell me about it?"
I sighed.
"I hear you, baby, but come on. I made sure the odds of that were crazy low, it's one monitor, and I made the whole thing easy to fix."
"Easy enough that a non-engineer who didn't know the machine had been tampered with could fix it?"
"Yes."
Bones raised an eyebrow, so I sighed, and used my free hand to give the machine a nice hard whack. Theoretically, the same one a stressed and confused medical professional would give it in the heat of the moment.
It beeped, then the readout changed back to the normal, boring heart monitor readout. I turned back to Bones with a look.
He sighed. "Fine. But you still scared me when I saw that coming up as a readout of your heart beat."
"Just take the roses and get M'benga to cover the end of your shift. This is just the first Valentine's surprise of the day."
Despite himself, a smile clawed its way onto my boyfriend's face. I grinned back at him. I knew he couldn't hold out here much longer.
"Alright, fine," he said, taking the roses out of my hand and leaning in to give me a kiss. I leaned up and into it, bringing one hand up to rest at the nape of his neck. After a long, sweet moment, he pulled back. "I'm all yours until dinner tonight."
"What happens at dinner tonight?"
"Then it's my turn to take over with the Valentine's planning. I put together a nice dinner for the both of us, and as a bonus, it won't give either of us a heart attack."
I laughed and leaned up to kiss him again.
"Sounds perfect to me."

Note
I've been binging romcoms with my younger sister and we just finished "To all the boys I have loved before" and now I can't get the idea out of my head: reader writing letters for different starfleet members without intending to send them and suddenly the letters are gone and being sent to their unintended targets (lol, probably Jim did it not knowing that they were not supposed to be read or something). Problem is: our favorite vulcan will too be receiving quite a love letter. Idk, I just thought it was cute, you can ignore if it's too silly ^\\\^
This was such a cute request and I love rom-com-type situations so I ran wild. Also, I'm sorry that this took so long for me to get out I have been busy with school and other annoying responsibilities! I hope you enjoy it!
Title: Message in a Bottle
Pairing: Spock x Kirk!reader
Warnings- none!
Word Count: 4047 my hand slipped
Lieutenant (Y/N) Kirk had been having a totally normal day. She completed her duties on the bridge as normal and had just finished eating dinner with her brother Jim. Now as she headed back to her room, she could not wait to shower, crawl into bed, and enjoy the next few hours of sleep before she had to get up and do everything again. When she entered her room the automated door hissed closed and she was finally completely alone. She took a deep breath and turned the lights in the room on. She almost immediately noticed something that completely ruined her peace.
Earlier that morning, (Y/N) was clearing out her storage closet and had sat a white box full of envelopes on her dining room table so that she would remember to find a new place for them. That box was no longer on the table. Now, one might think why is a missing box of envelopes a big deal? Well, they aren’t. It’s the fact that the envelopes were all properly addressed and full of letters to people she knew that she never intended to send. A few sappy ‘thank you’s to old teachers, a couple to her higher-ups including Captain Christopher Pike – the man who told the Kirk siblings to enroll in Star Fleet Academy. These letters would be slightly embarrassing if they got out but nothing (Y/N) couldn’t handle. After all, everything she wrote in them was true and she appreciates everything those people have done for her. There was only one letter in that whole box that worried (Y/N)—her love letter – a detailed love letter – to one Commander Spock. She cursed herself for writing and keeping a love letter in the first place though she didn’t anticipate the whole box would disappear. She tried to think back to earlier to see if she could remember if she moved it, but when she left her room after lunch it was still on the table and she hadn’t returned since.
“This can’t be happening. It didn’t just sprout legs and walk away!” She said to herself. (Y/N) ran a hand down her face and thought hard. She paused, “No fucking way.” She exited her room at a jog and progressively got faster as she headed toward her brother’s room. She slid to a stop in front of the white door of the captain's quarters and rapidly slammed her fist against it.
“James, open the door right now!”
The door slid open revealing a perplexed – and slightly afraid – Jim Kirk. He knew he had done something wrong for her to be angry enough to come to his room calling him by his full name. Of course, he had no idea what he had done but he decided it was best to try to start off ahead.
“Look, I know you’re upset about-“
“Did you move the white box on my dining room table when you were in my room earlier?”
“Wait, what? That’s what you’re mad about?” Jim scrunched his face up and scratched the top of his head. (Y/N)’s eyes widened and she briefly looked around the corridor before shoving Jim back into his room and following him in. The door shut with a hiss and (Y/N) closed her eyes and took a deep breath in through her nose and out through her mouth. When she opened her eyes Jim was staring at her with a confused expression and his hands crossed over his chest.
“Please, for the love of god, tell me you didn’t mail those letters,” (Y/N) said as calmly as she possibly could. Silence followed her question and she already knew the answer.
            “Well –“
            “Oh. My. God.”
“There was a box of addressed envelopes on the table so I thought you needed them mailed!”
“Jim! Why would you mail someone else's letters? Isn’t that, like, illegal or something?” (Y/N) was absolutely freaking out and, for the life of him, Jim couldn’t understand why.
“I was trying to be nice! I knew you had a long day today and I wanted to take something off your plate! Excuse me for being a good brother,” Jim rolled his eyes at his sister and threw his hands in the air in exasperation.
“Well, jackass, a good brother would have asked before just taking a box from his sister’s room and now there is a love letter headed to your second in command!”
A long pause followed her statement. Jim blinked once. Twice. Then a prolonged third blink.
“What?” Jim had no idea what to say. (Y/N) groaned and ran her hands through her hair in frustration. She began to pace in the entryway and ramble about how dumb she was to write it in the first place and how she should have burned the letters when she had the chance. Jim finally shook his head to rouse himself out of his stunned silence.
“Why the hell would you write a love letter…to Spock? Or to anyone for that matter what is this 1812?” Jim chuckled at his own joke but covered it with a cough when (Y/N) glared at him.
“I don’t know! I like writing letters and I just started writing one day and it turned into a full blown sappy confession that I had planned to keep hidden till the day I died! Now it’s headed off to the last person in the universe who I wanted to see it.”
“Well, maybe this isn’t so bad.”
“I want you to stop talking.”
“No, I’m serious maybe this is what you two need to stop dancing around the obvious!” Jim gestured vaguely with his hands as (Y/N) ceased her pacing. She sighed and shook her head.
“Jim, we’ve been over this: Spock does not feel that way about me. And that’s fine!” (Y/N) and her brother had had many conversations about this subject. Always with Jim insisting that the feelings were mutual and (Y/N) denying that Spock would ever even look at her in that way. I’m his best friend’s little sister and his subordinate, she thought, He’s way too professional for that.
Before Jim could respond, both of their communicators chimed. They were being called back to the bridge for an emergency. They briefly held eye contact before rushing toward the door. As they jogged toward the bridge, (Y/N) continued the conversation.
“Okay did you just mail them today?”
“Why are we still talking about this?”
“Because I want to know how long I have to transfer to another part of the fucking galaxy to avoid embarrassment,” They turned a corner and the lights flickered before flashing red. The ship shuttered and Jim and (Y/N) struggled to regain footing.
“Is it bad that I’m hoping whatever just happened happened to happen to the mail room?”
“Yes. And that was way too many uses of the word ‘happened’.”
Six hours and several shots fired later, the trouble was averted. A rogue Klingon battalion had decided to attack the Enterprise while it was stationary and almost destroyed the engines but quick thinking from Jim, (Y/N), Spock, and Sulu had saved the day. (Y/N) was officially beyond exhausted. She was so tired, in fact, that she forgot about the whole letter situation and went straight to bed after the whole debacle was over.
Day 1 of waiting:
She slept blissfully and woke up rested and ready for the day. She had gotten dressed and ready and made her way back to the bridge. Unfortunately, her blissful restfulness was cut short when she laid eyes on a certain Commander and remembered the imminent embarrassment that was bound to ruin her life at some point this week.
“Good morning, Lieutenant Kirk. You look rested.” Spock greeted her with a nod as he fell in step with her toward the bridge elevator.
“Uh, yeah, good morning,” (Y/N) managed to only stutter once and she quickly cleared her throat. She shouldn’t be freaking out. They walked together to the bridge all the time. Of course, normally Jim is with them but still, casual meetings with Spock were not entirely out of the ordinary. As they walked, silence filled the space between the two and, to (Y/N), it was suffocating. Something on her face must have given away the fact that something was wrong.
“Are you feeling alright, Lieutenant?” Spock asked. His face was neutral but he side eyed (Y/N) intensely. Briefly, (Y/N) met his heavy gaze before looking straight ahead.
“Yup, feeling absolutely terrific!” She couldn’t even believe herself. Spock raised an eyebrow and opened his mouth to speak again but, luckily for (Y/N), he was interrupted.
“Lieutenant Kirk.” It was Scotty. God bless him! (Y/N) thought.
“What’s up, Scotty?” Was that the formal way to address him? No. But (Y/N) just wanted to get out of speaking with Spock one-on-one.
“I need to speak to you. There are some issues with a few of the privates stationed in the engine room and I could use your help to resolve the issue before I throw some people out of the airlock!” His accent was strong with annoyance and (Y/N) couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Sure thing,” She turned to Spock who had paused beside her, “You go on to the bridge, I’ll be in the engine room if you need me in the meantime.” Without waiting for an answer, (Y/N) hurried toward the engine room leaving Scotty to trail behind.
Day 2 of waiting:
It was only the second day, and Spock had already caught on to the fact that (Y/N) was avoiding him. (Y/N) knew it was not going to be easy to allude him while also keeping it a secret that she was doing it on purpose, after all – Spock isn’t an idiot and (Y/N) is anything but subtle. Spock and (Y/N) had a routine and of course in an effort to not speak to him (Y/N) had changed it so that she was usually off the bridge when Spock was there and vice versa.
“Lieutenant Kirk you are needed on the bridge,” Chekov’s thick accent crackled through (Y/N)’s communicator and she sighed. She knew Spock would be there which is why she was currently in the engine room recalibrating the warp drive. It was busy work that she normally wouldn’t do but anything to avoid the impending embarrassment.
            “On my way.”
When she arrived, Spock immediately shifted his gaze from his work to her. (Y/N) briefly met his gaze before walking toward her brother who was seated in his chair with his legs thrown over the armrest. She rolled her eyes.
            “What do you want, Jim?”
“That’s no way to address your captain, Lieutenant,” Jim had a smug smile on his face – as usual – and it took everything in (Y/N) not to smack him on the back of his head.
“Tell me what you want or I’m leaving. I was working, unlike some people,” She scoffed as she crossed her arms over her chest and leaned into her hip.
“Okay, I am sending you and Spock on a mission,” Jim’s smirk got wider as he noticed his sister’s eye twitch in annoyance. “The planet we’re coming up on is supposed to be abandoned but there should be evidence of a previous civilization. I figured with your archeological knowledge and Spock’s general smart-assery you two would fit the job perfectly.”
(Y/N) took a deep breath in through her nose as she glared at Jim. She sneaked a glance at Spock.
He was listening in on the conversation – an action he deemed logical since it also pertained to him. His eyes were focused on the screen in front of him but he could see (Y/N) from the corner of his eye. He noticed her normally relaxed state was exchanged for tensed shoulders and a glowering expression. Whatever had been going on yesterday had most certainly carried into today. He thought. (Y/N) Kirk was one of his closest friends just as James Kirk was. Though many things that the younger Kirk did were illogical and not well thought out, she knew how to get the results she wanted and always figured out a way for everyone to be happy or at least safe. Spock enjoyed her company even more than he enjoyed her brother’s. She was smart, kind, and usually quiet if it was just the two of them. She was a challenging chess opponent and someone dear to his heart. Not that he would say that to her.
(Y/N) sighed, “Okay. When do we leave?”
“Tomorrow afternoon. We’ll be in the atmosphere at around 12 o’clock Earth time so you’ve got plenty of time to research and prepare. Why don’t you and Spock take the rest of the day for whatever nerd stuff you need to do,” Jim waved his sister off before getting up and leaving the bridge. (Y/N) glared at his back as he left before begrudgingly walking over to Spock.
“Hey, Spock,” she said. Her eyes were focused on the ground rather than up at the Vulcan who was looking at her intently. (Y/N) took a breath in through her nose before finally lifting her gaze to meet Spock’s, “Let’s go get some lunch and we can talk about the mission.”
Before the Vulcan had the chance to respond, (Y/N) quickly turned on her hell and started walking toward the elevator. Spock easily caught up to her before the doors closed and as the elevator began to descend, Spock spoke up.
“(Y/N), are you feeling ill?” Spock dropped the formalities and asked straight out. (Y/N) lifted an eyebrow and looked at her Commander with a curious gaze.
“No, I’m fine. Why do you ask?” This was a stupid question, (Y/N) realized. Her behavior was at best erratic and clearly intentional so it was only logical for Spock to know something was wrong. She did breathe an internal sigh of relief knowing that Spock hadn’t received the letter, otherwise, she was sure he would have confronted her by now – mutual feelings or not.
“You’ve been acting strange for the last couple of days. I want to be sure that your behavior will not negatively affect your performance on this mission.”
(Y/N) fought the urge to roll her eyes as the elevator doors hissed open. Of course. She thought. He’s only worried about this dumb mission my dumb brother is sending us on to torture me.
“I am also worried about your well-being, Lieutenant.” Spock’s surprising sentiment almost made (Y/N) trip on her own foot. She cleared her throat and shrugged her shoulders as they turned the corner of the hallway.
“I promise, I’m okay. Just have a lot on my mind right now.”
“Ah, yes, the letter.”
(Y/N) swore her heart stopped right there in the hallway. She hesitantly looked at Spock, trying her best to keep her expression as neutral as his. She didn't know how to respond I could play dumb, she mused, but he’s too smart for that to work. The man knows my handwriting so it would be impossible for me to deny that I wrote it. She took a deep breath through her nose, Fuck it.
“Yeah, actually that is what’s on my mind. And honestly, I had hoped I could just ignore the problem but I should have known that wouldn’t work with you.” (Y/N) rambled.
“Why would this be a problem?” Spock tilted his head slightly and furrowed his eyebrows, something that (Y/N) found impossible endearing.
“It could ruin things! In so many ways!” By now, (Y/N) was pacing the hallway and Spock was more confused than ever. “You’re my superior officer and I just sent a love letter to you! Of course, I wouldn’t be dumb enough to send it that would be my genius brother. But I was dumb enough to leave the box out and allow him into my room! But I mean, who mails other people’s letters without asking? What was he even thinking?”
“(Y/N) –“
“I’m so sorry! I seriously didn’t mean to tell you like this and if I’m honest, I didn’t intend on telling you at all! My feelings were supposed to be kept to myself! Well, to myself and Jim but he’s a nosey bastard who obviously can’t mind his business! I don't know why I tell him anything and honestly, I wish he’d just – “
“(Y/N).” Spock, tired of listening to her pointlessly rambling on about how annoying her brother is – a fact he knew to be true – grabbed her gently by the shoulder to get her to stop pacing. Now that she wasn’t speaking and instead was staring up at him like a kicked puppy waiting to be scolded his mind went blank. Spock was officially at a loss for words. “I was talking about the letter of promotion Admiral Pike sent you. About the head of engineering position.”
She wanted to disappear. Perhaps if she willed it hard enough, she could fade from existence on the spot. For once, it was running her own mouth that got her in trouble instead of her brother’s. (Y/N) tried to read Spock’s expression but couldn’t and that sent even more anxiety straight to her gut.
“Oh.” That was all she managed to say. She quickly regained her wits, “Then just forget everything I said and we can just go back to normal!” She let out a nervous laugh that sounded more like a cry and started to walk in the direction of the cafeteria. However, Spock hadn’t let go of her shoulder and as she walked away his grip slipped from her shoulder down to her hand, stopping her in her tracks.
“Wait.” That was all he managed to say. His mind was still reeling trying to decipher her quick words. A love letter. He thought. She loves me? He couldn’t believe it. “You love me?”
Despite her distraught state, she had to admit she had never seen Spock looking so dumbfounded, as if what she said was something he had never thought of in any scenario. His hand still held hers firmly and he gently pulled her back towards him. “You love me.” He said again, though this time it seemed as though he was finally understanding the situation.
“Okay, Spock, you’re starting to sound like a broken record, and the record is titled Hurting (Y/N)’s Feelings.” She chuckled only to keep herself from bursting into tears out of sheer embarrassment. This was the moment she was dreading. The absolute end of a friendship and a lifetime of shame. I’ll have to go into exile. Maybe I’ll ask Scotty to throw me out of the airlock. She thought. Just as she was about to speak again, Spock dropped her hand turned on his heel, and headed back in the direction they came from. That was when the damn broke and (Y/N)’s eyes welled up with hot tears. Blinking rapidly, she haphazardly looked around the hallway to make sure no one saw her before jetting away in the direction of her room.
“You left her in the hallway?” Jim was on the verge of shouting. He was absolutely flabbergasted at Spock’s behavior. Spock rolled his eyes.
“I was unsure of what I was supposed to do.”
“So you decided to leave my baby sister in the hallway, by herself, after basically confessing her undying love for you.”
“You’re being dramatic.”
“Trust me, I am not.” Jim ran a hand through his hair and huffed out an annoyed sigh. He paced back and forth, a habit that Spock noticed the siblings share, before looking back at his second in command. “Okay, you have to go after her.”
Spock knew this. It was obviously the most logical course of action. There was only one problem: “What am I supposed to say to her?”
“Apologize for rudely walking away, first off. Then – and this is just a spitball idea – tell her you feel the same!”
Jim was actually convinced that Spock’s brain had short-circuited. Spock wasn’t firing on all cylinders because if he was, he would understand the logical thing to do. Secretly, Jim was happy this situation happened. He had been trying to the Spock and his sister together for months now but he found the process to be similar to cutting a tree down with a blunt axe.
“Beginning a relationship with Lieutenant Kirk would violate –“
“Not if she accepts the promotion.”
“She’d still be my subordinate!”
“Only in the same way Scotty is our subordinate! He only has to listen to us sometimes.”
“That is not how the ranking system works.”
“Who cares?” Jim was tired of arguing with Spock over something that seemed so obvious. Spock felt the same way. “Listen, if you don’t want to tell her you have feelings for her I can’t make you. What I can tell you is that no matter what you do the sentence needs to start with I’m sorry and end with something nice. Turn off the Vulcan side for a change, not everything you do has to be completely logical. Sometimes we just need to do things that we want.”
It must have been a strange sight. The commanding officer of the USS Enterprise stood stiffly in front of (Y/N)’s quarters. He was still trying to figure out what exact words he needed to say and he had taken to scratching at his cuticles out of nervousness. I should not just be standing here. He thought. Shaking his head and finally lifting his clenched fist, he knocked twice. Panic briefly set into his veins as he realized he was actually going to have to talk to (Y/N). A cold shiver ran up his spine as the door’s airlock hissed open and revealed (Y/N) on the other side. He could tell she had been crying, though the tears seemed to be mostly dry by now. Her red-rimmed eyes lightly glared up at him and she crossed her arms tightly over her body.
“Can I help you?” Her voice was scratchy and her words were punctuated by a sniffle. Spock felt an ache deep in his gut from knowing he had made her feel this way.
“I-“ He paused. Once again he was speechless but he was determined to make this right. “I apologized for the way I behaved. Leaving you there after such an important moment was not the right thing to do and I am sorry for hurting you.” Even as he did his best to keep his tone even he couldn’t help the slight waver in his voice.
“It’s alright, Spock. Honest. I’ll be okay and ready for the mission tomorrow. Like I said we can just go back to normal and forget about it.” She was offering him an out. He knew he could easily just take it and go but part of him, a large part of him refused to give up that easily.
“No.”
“What?”
“I do not wish to return to normal.”
“Oh.” (Y/N) believed this to be the final moment of friendship. He wanted nothing to do with her anymore. “Um, okay. I guess you can just do the mission alone or ask my brother to –“
“You misunderstand. I do not want to return to normal because I reciprocate your feelings of affection.”
Oh. (Y/N) thought. A moment of silence passed between them. Spock watched (Y/N)’s face for any sign of emotion but she seemed frozen. He wouldn’t lie, she thought. Vulcans don’t lie. “You do?” her voice was quieter than she intended, almost a whisper.
Spock took her hand in his larger one. “Of course I do. I believe an adequate way to put it would be you have bewitched me, body and soul.”
(Y/N) couldn’t help the giggle, “So you do listen when I talk about Jane Austin. I thought you found romance novels illogical.”
“Everything about you is illogical, but that is one of the many things I find alluring about you.” They both smiled. (Y/N) had only seen Spock actually smile a few times and each time it was like new life had filled her lungs but this time it was even better knowing that the smile was put there solely for her. And this time, she couldn’t stop herself from kissing that smile even if she tried.

F*** You: A Kirk x Reader soulmate AU
Tumblr media
You were walking down the corridor headed from the Bridge to your quarters, engaged in a tense digital conversation that was making you angrier and angrier. Your ex was trying to blame you for the relationship failure and you were not having it.
“Oh, FUCK YOU!” you proclaimed loudly, after he’d called you a whore again. You slammed the block button. A throat cleared nearby and the blood drained from your face as you saw you’d stopped right in the path of the Captain.
“I’m gonna assume that wasn’t aimed at me.” he said, looking at you steadily.
You wanted to drop through the floor, but you were frozen in place by the reality that he’d just said your words.
“No, sir,” you finally confirmed. “My ex. He’s slime. I apologize for the bad language, but I don’t take well to being called a whore.”
“Of course not,” the Captain agreed with a frown. “Does he work with you?”
“Unfortunately, yes,” you groaned. “I should have never said yes to that first date. He’s unmarked and I’m marked, but I was lonely and desperate. I kind of gave up on my soulmate, which was really stupid.”
Captain Kirk just kept looking at you, then a smile crossed his very handsome face and he suddenly shoved his sleeve up to reveal “FUCK YOU!” written in your writing on his arm.
“Oh, gosh,” you covered your face with your hand and shook with mortified laughter, grabbing the wall to keep yourself steady..
“I’m so sorry, Captain. That was quite the mark to leave on you.”
You pulled at your collar to show your own words that marched across your collarbone.
“It certainly made for some interesting speculation,” the Captain agreed with a good humored grin. “Pleased to meet you, Soulmate. Jim Kirk.”
Your hand was engulfed in his large one and you felt your face grow warm again as you returned the handshake.
“Lieutenant Y/N Y/L/N, Sir. What a way to make an impression, huh?”
Jim laughed. You were so relieved he had a good sense of humor about this. He was known for being a very fair Captain, but you wouldn’t have blamed him if he’d given you a verbal warning for that outburst.
“It’ll be a good story to tell,” he declared. “But first off, I want to make sure this ex of yours won’t be a problem anymore. How long has he been harassing you?”
“Since we broke up last week,” you admitted. “I ended things because I knew we weren’t right, but he thought it was because I was cheating. If he finds out I met my soulmate, he might feel he was justified.
Jim frowned. “Sounds like a long term stint on Gamma shift is in his future. I’ll keep the Soulmates thing under wraps for now, but he is going to be investigated. I won’t put up with that kind of behavior.”
“Thank you, Captain,” you said gratefully. “I’ve got plenty of receipts for evidence.” You waved your PADD.
“Good. Hang on to them,” Jim told you and then his tone softened. “I really look forward to getting to know you, Y/N. Not gonna let some asshole ruin this. We waited a long time.”
“We sure did,” you agreed. “I can’t wait to find out what the real Jim Kirk is like. I’ve heard mixed reviews.”
“Depends on who you ask,” Jim said with a twinkle in his blue eyes. “I can be a bit of an acquired taste.”
You chuckled. “Me too.”
Jim was as good as his word. Your ex, after languishing on Gamma shift for a few months, ended up transferring to another ship and never bothered you again after that day.
You found that your soulmate was a very good human and a lot of fun to be with. His friends revelled in hearing you recount the story of how you met and provided loving teasing.
“The stories didn’t really do this justice,” you admitted after Jim kissed you for the first time. “Holy crap.” You leaned against him as you caught your breath, mind blown by his skills.
“Good,” he breathed happily. “Only the best for my soulmate.”
