(SPOILERS if you haven't seen the show yet):

We start things off with the title of the episode, "Kiss Kiss Fall in Portal" a fun nod to the lyrics of Ouran High School Host club's OP, Sakura Kiss by Chieko Kawabe. Very apt since Clark wanted to show the cherry blossoms to Lois on their date.

Next Jimmy razzing Clark for his extremely scheduled date plans for Lois and razzing Lois for her gift to Clark. Each of them reference what happened in previous episodes. With the first thing Clark and Lois I talked about it here and the second thing Clark mentioned I talked about it here.

After we cut back from Lois and Jimmy picking up Lois's dry cleaning, we meet the villain of the episode, Mr. Mxyztplk. In the comics, Mxy makes his first appearance in Superman #30 (1944) by Joe Shuster, Jerry Seigel, and Ira Yarbrough as you can see in the page above this text. Mxy is a 5th dimension imp who plays jokes and pranks on Superman and can only be rid of if Mxy says his name backwards. Yeah Mxy is a MAJORLY annoying thorn at Clarks side. MAwS Mxy, as you can tell has a DRASTIC overhaul in design kinda shares color and design choices with Whis from the Dragon Ball Super anime. Also in the show Mxy is a chaos god compared to the annoying imp in the comics.

Classic way to describe Clark Kent. That's a given in any Superman media.

Next we see Mxy mess with Clark by snapping him into his various Superman animation incarnations from the Max Fleischer cartoons, the Superfriends cartoons, and the cartoon that introduced Superman to me, Superman the Animated Series. Shout out to the MAwS team for remembering to give StAS Superman the darker trunks. People often forget that. Same with the red belt on the Fleisher Superman and the cape circling behind the neck of Superfriends Superman when usually the cape exposes the next a lot more too. Very good attention to detail.

With Lois and Jimmy they meet alternate versions of themselves. We meet two different Loises and one Louis Lane. There actually is a Louis Lane in the comics who has connections to Mxyzptlk.

In Superman #349 (1980) (W: Martin Pasko, P: Curt Swan, I: Frank Chiaramonte, C: Adrienne Roy, L: Ben Oda), Clark is forced into a genderbent world thanks to Mxyzptlk where he meets, as you can see on the page, gender flipped versions of his Daily Planet colleagues. Clark is eventually able to escape the world and defeat Mxy where he actually meet Louis Lane, Lois Lane's legit cousin. Bonus fun fact Osric Chau who voices Louis Lane, was the Atom/Ryan Choi on the CW DC shows

The League of Loises have a ship that's kinda similar to one of the ships designed by Rian Hughes and Grant Morrison on the Multiverse Map. I talked more about that map and the multiverse here

Lois Prime here shares similar designs to Fleischer Studios' Lois Lane. Very good homage to the look.

Next scene is EASTER EGGS GALORE and the section that took the longest for me to do. When Mxy and Clark break into the Science and Superhero Museum that Lois Prime created, we see a mace and an elaborately designed box of some sort. If you know your DC universe, these two things are a Thanagarian (alien hawk people) Nth Metal (strongest metal in the DC universe) Maces that is usually wielded by Hawkman and Hawkwoman/girl (as you can see both of them wielding their own respective maces on the comic covers here. The first one is from Justice League #15 (2019) done by Jim Cheung Tomey Moreu and the second cover is from Hawkman #1 (2018) done by Stjepan Šejić) and the box is a Mother Box from the New Gods. The Nth Metal mace makes its first debut in the Brave and the Bold #34 (1961) though it resembles more like flails and even then the Nth metal mace is a morningstar, but its alien technology maybe Thanagarians call these weapons maces where here we call it a morningstar.

Mother Boxes are basically supercomputers that the New Gods use. Created by Jack Kirby and debuted in the Forever People #1 (1971), Mother Boxes have a wide range of uses from energy and molecule manipulation, energy transferring, Boom Tube summoning to travel inter-dimensionally or inter-/intra- galactically, machine manipulation. The page from Who's Who-The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe #16 (1986) explains what a Mother Box is in full detail.

The camera then shifts and we see a Green Lantern Power Battery, a T-Sphere, and a book on display. The farthest item is an obvious one, a Power Battery that Green Lantern uses to recharge the Power Ring. This version of the Power Battery and Green Lantern make their debut in Showcase 22 (1959). The final two panels from the comic (W: Jon Broome, P: Gil Kane, I: Joe Giella, L: Gaspar Saladino) shows Hal Jordan recharging the ring with the Power Battery.

T-Spheres are floating spheres used by Mr. Terrific aka Michael Holt. These spheres can form laser grids, act as sensor arrays, bombs, record video and audio, hack into computers, display holograms, and discharge electricity to shock things or people. They make their debut in JSA #11 (2000) as seen there in the middle two panels (W: Geoff Johns, David Goyer, P: Buzz, I: Michael Bair, C: John Kalisz, L: Ken Lopez).

The book is a little harder to pinpoint, but my guess is this is the Book of Souls/the Cosmic Log/The Book of Destiny. If Lois Prime is able to find all this stuff and is able to preserve it in a museum, I wouldn't be surprised if Destiny of the Endless gave her an inert copy of the book for the museum. The book makes its debut in Weird Mystery Tales #1 (1972) (Page art by Michael Kaluta). The book records everything that is, was, and will be. If you haven't read the comics, you might have seen it be used on the CW DC shows rewriting the histories of their characters.

To the lad of all lads🫡, dragon prince, guitar slinger, dark lord of rock…yadayada… you have many a nickname! Last year I wrote a novel, so this year all I will say is this:

Thank you for being my muse???? In a way? and inspiring my artistic craft to the zenith always. Your creativity and tenacity is super inspiring, and your music quite literally shaped me into who I am today. 80 years is a long time, and there is so much you have created that is quite remarkable. Its so wonderful to see what has come of it! Keep being that funky lad with a penchant for the magickal. Heres my ode to you, pal!

please please please explain how the bullshit military death cult in Fourth Wing is unsustainable. I need more Iron Flame slander in my life lol

I may have chosen the wrong phrasing last night. It’s less about the sustainability of the magical dragon country’s military college, and more about how much Yarros’s tendency to use specific numbers riles me up. Very specifically, a graphic at the beginning of Iron Flame. 

(Note: I only got a little bit over 200 pages into Iron Flame before I had to return it to the library; if there is an universe rebuttal to any of this, I may not have reached it yet; I also do not have the book in front of my to double check specific numbers, but luckily Yarros’s Specific Numbers have rustled my jimmies so much that I have been spamming my group chats about them so I inevitably wrote them all down.)

The graphic in question is this:

It illustrates the structure of the titular Fourth Wing. As you can see, it is made out of 3 sections that are then divided into 3 squads. You will notice two important notes on this graphic:

Each squad contains 15-20 people

Each of the four wings that make up the dragon rider cadets in the military academy has the same layout

With this information, I should be able to more or less calculate the number of dragon riders attending the military academy. 

In theory, the fourth wing has 8 people in leadership positions, and 136 to 180 squad members. That’s a total of 144 to 188 people in the fourth wing. 

If the fourth wing is identical to the other three wings, that means that there are anywhere from 576 to 752 dragon rider cadets across three grade levels. That’s already a pretty small number, but this is an exclusive military program. It’s not an unreasonable.

Except it’s actually impossible for there to be 576 to 752 dragon rider cadets. Why do I know that? Because Yarros already gave us a Specific Number.

Let’s rewind. In Fourth Wing, it’s established that you cannot advance beyond your first year unless you bond with a dragon. If you do not bond with a dragon, you repeat the year until you either bond or die trying. There are also only a select few dragons who are willing to bond each year. 

Yarros, of course, told us specifically how many dragons were willing to bond not only for that current freshman class, but for the two years previous:

1st year: 100 dragons*

2nd year: 137 dragons

3rd year: 163 dragons

(*actually, it was 101 but two dragons, in a super special unprecedented move, bonded with the same person; I’m trying to count the cadets, not the dragons so this really does not matter)

That means that there are around 400 dragon rider cadets, which is way less than what the info graphic implied. You can argue that the missing 176 cadets are those who did not bond with any dragons, but I highly doubt they would make much of a difference. Why? Because dragon rider cadets keep dying. 

I kept track of how many people were dying in Fourth Wing. By the end of that book, there were less than 80 bonded cadets still alive. Yarros then contradicted herself in Iron Flame by stating that there were 89 cadets in the second year. This isn’t because a bunch of cadets suddenly bonded with dragons and advanced a year; that only happens in a one a year ceremony. Yarros is just bad with numbers, which shows how silly I am for going to this much trouble trying to prove her wrong.

All that’s to say that I’ll split the difference and say that 85 cadets were still alive at the end of the first year. That means that there is a 15% death rate between bonding with a dragon and getting to the end of the first year. 

That means that by the time each class ended their first year, this about how many dragon rider cadets there should be:

1st year 85 cadets

2nd year: 117 cadets

3rd year: 139 cadets

That’s 341 people across all four wings. That means each wing has about 85 people. 

But wait! People die beyond their first year. There’s an ever decreasing number of cadets each year. If we assume that 15% death rate is consistent each year, that means that by graduation day, each year has: 

1st year: 85 cadets

2nd year: 100 cadets

3rd year: 102 cadets

That’s 287 cadets across all four wings, or 71 people a wing. I need not remind you how that is far below our predicted 144 to 188 per a wing. 

And I haven’t even mentioned that not every dragon available to bond even bonds. So those starting numbers are already the best case scenario where every possible dragon selects a cadet. Our actual class numbers are probably 10 to 20 people smaller, and that’s before the numerous deaths. 

When I started Fourth Wing, I inferred that the incoming freshman class started with about 700 people. (Each of the freshman dorm floors hold 156 people; there are at least three but it makes more sense for there to be a floor for each wing. Sixty-seven freshman died on the parapets. That’s a total of 691 freshmen, which I rounded up to 700.) 

Xaden (terrible name) has a speech where he claims that 1/2 of the incoming class will die by the end of the first year, 1/3 by the second, and 1/3 by the third. He’s probably just trying to scare the newbies, but let’s take him at his word anyway. 

According to his estimation, by the time the freshman class graduation, 172 people should still be alive. That’s a 21% survival rate, according to Xaden. That is somehow less severe than what is actually happening in the books.

There's never a point in time in the story where we acknowledge that the class sizes are this small. Everyone is dying, and there always seems to be more nameless faces than not. Yet, as all evidence suggests, there's not even enough people in the entire dragon rider curriculum to fill up a movie theater.

Ultimately, the numbers don’t really matter. What matters is that this fantasy military system is wildly inefficient. I understand on a trope-level why it has to be deadly. New Adult, the gangly older sister of YA, loves a good deadly game of wits and wile. Yarros was commissioned to write a romantasy story, and by god she was going to write the most marketable one possible. But you would also assume that Rebecca “second generation army brat who loves military heroes and has been blissfully married to her for over twenty years” would have a better understanding of how the military works. 

On the most basic of levels, you win a war by having the most people still alive at the end. Everyone knows this. It’s not that hard. It’s in the best interest of the brass to keep your soldiers alive. When that best interest gets screwed over, it’s usually because of economic issues (like being able to afford the supplies needed to keep your troops alive), or prejudice (soldiers from persecuted demographics being less worthy of better food/ammo/missions, under qualified officials earning their jobs via privilege, etc.). 

That is in itself another gross simplification. My point is that there’s no good reason why you would kill your own troops before they can even reach the battlefield. That’s a waste of resources! I don’t care if the dragons demand a blood sacrifice, or whatever. A practical military leadership would find some way to reroute failed rider cadets to a different career track before they needlessly died in training. The training can be as dangerous as you want, but for world building sake, be practical about how wars work. At least acknowledge that the military’s favorite canon fodder aren’t soldiers, but foreign civilians. 

Believe it or not, but I actually don’t really care that the worldbuilding is nonsense. Can I write a needlessly long essay about how the numbers don’t add up? Sure, but who cares? It’s just bad in a normal way. I’m more than happy to let other people harp on it. 

What is interesting is the way that Yarros views the morality of the military. It’s one thing for something to be pro-military. It’s another when your book’s thesis comes down to “it’s morally wrong for the big, powerful, totally not American, country  to not provide military intervention to smaller, poorer foreign countries that are being viciously attacked by a seemingly unbeatable, dehumanized enemy.” Yarros doesn’t even try to cover it up; Xaden makes a giant, righteous speech about how they have a moral duty to protect citizens, to actually quote the book, “beyond our borders.”

As I said when I first read this: what the fuck? 

Rebecca “second generation army brat who loves military heroes and has been blissfully married to hers for over twenty years” Yarros claims she is writing a series about the dangers of censorship. See how callous we are for letting other people die, and then covering it up? Yet, she mindlessly reproduces that idealized justification we’ve been fed for decades. Yarros, it’s never about helping civilians. I know you’re a biased army wife, but you know about the oil and the military industrial complex. You know America is not the good guy. 

Moreso, the in-book movement to wage a war “beyond our borders” is labeled as a rebellion. According to this series, it’s counterculture to want military intervention overseas. Yes, Yarros is writing the world’s most marketable book. In a post Hunger Games society, there must be a little rebellion sprinkled in there. But to frame the desire to fight a war as any form of counterculture is downright insidious. 

Fourth Wing is a book that looks you in the eye and tells you that the government is lying to you-- the war beyond our borders is necessary, that if we do not send the army to fight our inhuman enemies, they will hurt not only our poorer, less fortunate allies but also our homeland. War is a morale imperative.

I haven’t finished Iron Flame yet. Perhaps this rant is premature. Maybe the series turns itself around. But as one can imagine, I don’t trust Rebecca “second generation army brat who loves military heroes and has been blissfully married to hers for over twenty years” Yarros to have thought it through all the way. Just a gut feeling. Who can say? If I am wrong, I would be more than happy to eat my words, though. I would love to be wrong. 

Me being wrong means that the most compelling reasons why Fourth Wing is bad really is the bad worldbuilding, prose, romance, characters, action, lore, smut, dialogue, editing, and everything else. There’s already a hundred big brained book reviewers who are making a video essay career off of telling you that in five hours or less. I respect the hustle. Personally, I never want to hear about this series again unless it’s about how Yarros built her blockbuster book series on conservative ideals of militarism and foreign policy, and then had the audacity to tell you that’s what it means to be a rebel.

The secret keepers met once a week at a diner somewhere deep in the void within the end. The faceless, yet watchful beings met to discuss all things secret life, from task ideas to personal favorite players.

The front door jingled as it opened, and the secret keepers went quiet as the man with the red sweater walked in. They threw him looks of curiosity and deep contempt. Grian was well aware that the secret keepers only tolerated him because he’d organized these games for them to enjoy in the first place. He walked over to the smattering of tables, holding a notebook tight to his chest. The secret keepers all took their seats, wandering back over from the pinball machines and music boxes they had been occupying their time with.

“Fellas, nice to see you all. How’s everyone feeling, what with reds already on the server, huh?” Grian asked, throwing out some finger guns. There was some general murmurs and nods of celestial heads. “Jimmy and Martyn, who would have thought, huh? The dragon really went yeet on Tim’s ass,” that statement was met with silence, so Grian cleared his throat and moved on. “So I had an idea, for both some tasks and server bonding activites.”

The tasks were usually left up to the secret keepers, as they loved to participate in the pain of the players they watched, so this statement raised a couple of eyebrows (metaphorically, anyway- Grian didn’t really know what they looked like under their hoods). Grian knew he didn’t have long before the secret keepers got annoyed with him, so he took out a notebook, and flipped to a page pretty far in the back.

“So, picture this, a warden and a wither fight, right in front of the secret keeper. Think of the drama, the carnage, the potential sacrifice, the teamwork to keep the two beasts in check. I’m thinking Etho for the warden part of this, as he’s pretty adept at wrangling them. And I wasn’t quite sure who could be the other person for the task, so let’s just call them… y/n, for now.”

“What does y slash n mean?” one of the secret keepers asked.

“It’s… um, well, it’s just kind of a placeholder for m- someone to put their name in post… publishing. The tasks are randomized, right?”

There were some confused murmurs from the group, but waves to .

“Right,” Grian continued, “so y/n would have to be super brave and go collect wither skulls in the nether to make a wither. And then y/n could work with Etho to make the fight happen. And they couldn’t tell anyone, so it would just be a secret between them, and they’d have to get super close and personal…”

“This seems more detailed and personal then our usual task dedications,” a secret keeper said. “Did you have a particular person in mind to be this… y slash n?”

“Umm…” Grian coughed. “Imaybehadmyselfinmind?”

“What was that?”

“I mean, I could go to the nether…”

There was a collective groan from the secret keepers.

“You just want to be best friends with Etho.”

“Him and the whole server.”

“Who elected you king of the secret keepers, deciding your own task?”

“Fellas, fellas…” Grian said, holding out his hands apologetically. “It’s only a suggestion. y/n could be whoever you want. But whoever it is, maybe we could also have a task that makes Mumbo y/n’s… butler?”

Grian cringed as several secret keepers threw their hands up in exasperation.

“You want Mumbo to be your butler?” one of them asked. “What kind of fantasy world do you live in?”

“No, no, it’s just for whoever this… y/n person ends up being!” Grian knew they were seeing right through his lies. “Maybe he can, like, help y/n and Etho pull off this fight! Mumbo is very competent.”

There was an uproar of noise at that, and Grian stared furiously down at his notes. They just don’t understand the vision, he thought. The secret keepers eventually settled down again, throwing him annoyed looks assumedly. “Anything else, Grian?” one of them asked exasperatedly.

Grian looked down at his notebook, reading the final idea he’d had last night, mentally facepalmed over the little hearts he’d put over the dot of the I’s. “No…”

“Don’t lie, you’ve already made a fool of yourself today.”

“Well, maybe the warden and the wither could fall in love,” Grian said, clinging as he said the words. “Enemies to lovers style… i wrote a little story about it last night if you want to read it sometime…”

If the secret keepers knew how to do more then just stare and mutter to one another, they would have booed him out of the diner. They didn’t, but Grian knew that their patience with him had run out.

“And that’s all I had, fellas. I hope you guys have tons of fun coming up with new tasks, they’re always so much fun and super awesome. Love you,” he left the diner as quickly as he could, and before he knew it, he was back in his bed on the Secret Life server.

The next day, each player recieved their newest task, a book popping into each of their inventories. Grian opened his and read it once, twice, and a giddy grin spread over his face. He clutched the book to his chest in a hug, then put it away in his inventory. He put his hair up into a messy bun, and raced to go find Etho. They had a lot to do today, after all.

GUITAR PRINCES [STYLE Series #004 - Muse (August 2010)]

The charm of the band lies in the “Prince”! From a super-girl's point of view, the history of the “Guitar Prince” from the beginning to the reign of Matthew Text: Sumi Imai

Matthew Bellamy is without a doubt one of the leading guitar heroes of our time. No one would argue with adding “princely” to that description (we welcome comments such as “from Wonderland?” or “from another planet?”). What are the requirements for a “prince” in the rock world? At my own discretion, I would say the first is beauty. This is a must. In addition, 2. a mysterious magic or unique talent that attracts the masses, 3. eccentric behaviour that creates legends & overwhelming persuasiveness that allows for almost anything, 4. pride and nobility, and 5. a partner that enhances the storytelling—it's even better if you have these.

With this in mind, I would like to take a quick look back at the lineage of prince-type guitarists (including bassists, but excluding “vocalists who occasionally play guitar as well”) from the 1970s to the present day. If you can't find a photo of a “prince” [in this article], please search for it on the Internet.

First of all, Jimmy Page, the guitar god of Led Zeppelin, who supported the glory of British hard rock in the 1970s, wrapped his slender body in mediaeval aristocratic style and dragon suits (black with dragon embroidery), etc. He was rumoured to be a thrifty man in Japan for some reason, and at the time, he was featured in many manga and readers' columns being known as the Miserly Prince. It was a prince's prerogative to be applauded for his eccentric clothing and his actions and words that became the source of stories. His magical fading is also an element that adds to his mystique. In this sense, Matthew is the heir to this lineage.

In the punk era of the late 70's, there were several cool, tall bassists who followed the rule (?) of bassists in punk bands: “Focus on the impact of Brooks [Tim Brooks of Bold], technique is secondary.” Paul Simonon of The Clash and Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols are two of the best examples. Paul's roughness, masculinity, and stylishness, and Sid's self-destructive danger, are worthy of the title as the Princes of Punk. At the same time, Paul Weller, who led The Jam, a three-piece band like Muse, was a sharp, mod-style British orthodoxy and the object of everyone's admiration. During his Style Council days, Weller even temporarily turned to the aesthetic school of one-lane slanted bangs. However, Weller's colleagues' plainness is a regrettable aspect of the band's storytelling. Although not as tall as the average height, Matthew's princeliness, playing ability, and singing ability as a whole are superior to all three of them.

The Goth of the early 80s is the root of the later Visual Kei. It sounds romantic, as if there were a lot of princes, but in fact, in the original Goth world, there was more of a horror component, and guitar princes who fulfilled the beauty aspect were rare. Among them, Daniel Ash (g) of Bauhaus, a pioneer of vampiric Gothic music, is the spearhead of decadence and aesthetics. Rowland S. Howard (g) was in charge of the army of beautiful men in “Beauty and the Beast” [probably based on the documentary film Autoluminescent: Rowland S. Howard] as The Birthday Party's Prince of Darkness. Blixa Bargeld, who was in another band with Nick Cave (vo), was the main member of Einstürzende Neubauten, a German industrial band, and was the Prince of Destruction with a slim body, tall stature, and good looks. When performing under the name Rocket Baby Dolls, Muse took the stage in black goth makeup, which I would love to see. I mean, isn't it a universal request to have Matthew dress up as Count Dracula (even if he doesn't want to)?

In the post-punk/New Wave era, there are many guitarists who are “talented, but a follower type?“ In the case of Echo & the Bunnymen, for example, the aura of the sharp-tongued Ian McCulloch (vo) is so dazzling that his surroundings become hazy. On the other hand, there is also a pattern of “Actually, there is a beautiful ‘nobleman’ in the rhythm section……” In a sense, Muse also fits into that…!? One of the most prominent figures in the New Wave scene was Matthew Ashman, the guitarist of Bow Wow Wow, whom John Frusciante, formerly of Red Hot Chili Peppers, admired. Although his haircut is often misleading, he was the most handsome prince with a Mohawk at the time.

Roddy Frame of Aztec Camera, with his long eyelashes and ribbon tie, was the Prince of Neo-acoustic Music. Johnny Marr of The Smiths, who reigned over the UK indie scene in the 1980s, had a strong image of being a delicate prince because of his musicality and sweet appearance, but later turned out to be a surprisingly wild man. In Matthew's case, his outdoor-oriented personality may attract some people.

The prince of 90's shoegaze is Mark Gardener & Andy Bell, the baby-faced, baby-boy duo who played the top two spots in Ride. In the case of Manic Street Preachers, the glamour of their two best friends, Richey Edwards (rhythm g) and Nicky Wire (tall b), complemented the hard-edged masculinity of James Dean Bradfield (vo,g), who was the musical core of the band and the duo added to the band's appeal. Matthew is the lone man at the top of the triangle, and his best friends and knights Dom and Chris certainly add to the “legend of the prince.”

The guitar prince of the early 90's has to be Bernard Butler of Suede. Although he was a full-time guitarist, he is in the same family as Matthew in terms of his intensely emotional and brilliant musical expression. In the Britpop period, the kingdom of Blur, with its king of beauty, Damon Albarn, in the centre, also had Graham Coxon (the shy prince with glasses, g) and Alex James (the intelligent prince of art, b), which made it a very rich and full kingdom. Crispian Mills (Kula Shaker), from the British upper class and famous for his eccentricities and tastes, is the psychedelic guitar prince of the late 1990s. Mansun's Paul Draper (vo,g), known as a maniac who defies the currents of the times, is also a Prince of Independent Pride. Mansun's second album, SIX, has much in common with Muse's Origin of Symmetry in terms of sound and attitude.

The Libertines' Carl Barât and Pete Doherty, whose anecdotes are stranger than fiction, are a pair of bard-prince sets. Kasabian's Sergio Pizzorno, a bearded prince of Italian heritage, is a dandy who looks great in hats and fur.

This overview of the lineage shows once again that Prince Matthew's charm lies in the coexistence of various elements, such as the darkness and the Latin, the literary and the military, the lone hero and his partner, and the slightly out of character, which makes us want to tinker with him.

Story

15 years have passed since the end of the nuclear war. The survivors have built colonies in various parts of the devastated world to make their homes. However, over these 15 years, the concept of nations has been lost, and the powerful people who govern the colonies now control politics and make the laws.

This colony established on the coast is one such city, ruled by some of these powerful people: a gang called the Shadow Warriors. Since their rise to power, the gap between rich and poor in the colony has intensified. People living in the slums struggle to get by, and there are constant rumors of mysterious disappearances. The Lee brothers, masters of the Sosetsuken, live in a corner of the city with their childhood friend Marian. The honest younger brother Billy and the free-spirited older brother Jimmy. When the Sosetsuken dojo they inherit ends up in the way of the city’s evil schemes, the story begins…

Double Dragon Revive is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in 2025.

Hermitdragons AU Masterpost

(Aka brief hermitcraft but mostly third life/wings of fire AU)

Welcome to my wings of fire AU! This story takes place in the wof universe using history from the first ten books, but very little prior knowledge is needed to read! Everything you need to know will be included in this post.

Wings of Fire Important Context

Dragon tribes are separated into several different species: Nightwings, Skywings, Rainwings, Mudwings, Icewings, and Seawings. I highly recommend looking up the species descriptions, but it isn't super necessary, most are intuitive.

Most necessary is that Nightwings, when born under a full moon, can be given one of two powers; mind reading or future sight. Mind readers have special teardrop scales by their eyes.

There’s also animus magic, an extremely rare power any dragon tribe can possess. All you need to know about animus magic is that it has literally no limits, but it is rumored that using it too much can make you lose your soul. That last part probably won't be too relavent though.

The main story is being written down on AO3! You can read it here, but if you don’t want to dive into a novel length fic, the main story will be summarized below.

Characters and Designs

most character designs are very subject to change, the only consistent designs as of right now are Grian, Scar, and Martyn

Grian (Nightwing disguised as a Skywing) - Animus dragon born to a group of Nightwings who used his magic to make themselves gods called the Nightwatchers. Using this power, all other Nightwings and animus dragons were murdered. Grian is extremely sheltered, and after finally being able to attend school, he ends up telling Scar some Nightwatcher secrets. As punishment, he and many classmates are put into a death game. Can read minds.

Scar (Rainwing) - A member of Grian’s school dorm. Thanks to the information given by Grian, he ends up setting off a chain of events that leads to Martyn’s capture. These memories are erased before the death game. Partnered with Grian in the death game, trying to convince him to turn against the Nightwatchers.

Martyn (Seawing with distant Nightwing heritage) - Raised in a deep sea Listener cult and prophesized to be able to defeat the Nightwatchers. Due to [SPOILERS] he is immune to Nightwing powers and resists the affects of animus magic. Only found out because of Scar’s unprotected mind figuring out what he was doing. Put in the death game in an attempt to figure out how he was able to hide for so long. Blind. Can read minds. Did not attend school.

Ren (Mudwing/Icewing hybrid) - A member of Grian’s school dorm. Partnered with Martyn in the death game. After finding out that Martyn believes the death game is a form of capital punishment for him specifically, Ren is determined to make sure Martyn wins, in a hope they won’t permanently kill him.

Scott (Seawing/Rainwing hybrid) - Martyn’s friend from before the death game. Born in a separate Listener cult than Martyn, where he learned strategies to protect his mind from mind readers. Quite talented at it! Partnered with Jimmy in the death game.

Pearl (Icewing) - A member of Grian’s school dorm. I literally forgot she wasn’t in third life so uh. She’s here now. Hanging in the crastle!

BigB (Seawing) - A member of Grian’s school dorm.

Skizz (Skywing) - doesn’t play a big role

Tango (Sandwing) - guys I have no idea what he did in third life but he’s not relevant here jbJdhdjd

Cleo (???) - doesn’t play a big role

Bdubs (Rainwing) - doesn’t play a big role

Joel (Sandwing) - doesn’t play a big role

Jimmy (normal ass human) - the Nightwatchers put him in the death game as a joke. Granted the ability to speak with dragons and nothing else. Will get squished like a bug forever.

Etho (Icewing) - doesn’t play a big role

Impulse (Mudwing) - doesn’t play a big role

Story Recap

There are two planned fics, one covering the events of Third Life and prior, and one continuing with Last Life, Double Life, and Limited Life. Future seasons will not be included, as there is already a planned ending.

Book 1 - Ruler of Everything - work in progress

Prologue Chapters - Grian’s hatching and early life before putting his magic into a book for the Nightwatchers to use. He is being manipulated from an early age into the Nightwatcher philosophy.

Chapters 1-6 - After centuries of immortality, Grian longs to experience life as a normal dragon. He has never had anyone his age to play with or talk so, so he asks permission to attend Jade Mountain academy for a semester. His request is accepted. Here he meets Scar, Pearl, Ren, and BigB, his dorm-mates, and has a grand ol time. Just kidding! He’s a disaster with a criminal staring problem! Scar and Pearl in particular help him to acclimate to life with other dragons, and after his entire winglet comes to the conclusion he was raised in a Skywing cult, (which Grian vehemently denies) they give it their all to teach him about normal life.

One problem. Grian can NOT take a hint. After borderline harassing Scar over the Nightwatchers and how cool they are, Scar snaps and Pearl intervenes, pulling Grian aside to yell at him for being an insensitive asshole. The Nightwatchers don’t like that! Grian’s mother attacks and threatens Pearl and takes him out of school for a couple weeks to make sure he stays properly indoctrinated. After he is allowed to return, the entire dorm agrees never to speak about Nightwatchers again.

Well, until the end of the school year that is. After the rest of the dorm leaves, Scar tries to convince Grian to join him in the rainforest and run away from his cult. Fearing what the Nightwatchers would do if he dared try that, but not wanting Scar to believe he’s genuinely a bad dragon, he tells Scar about the Nightwatcher’s animus magic, and what they might do to the Rainwings if they tried to protect him from them. Scar lets him go, a new determination that the Nightwatchers need to be stopped.

Chapters 7-11 - Twenty year pass. Grian grows apathetic towards his years at the academy, and keeps himself busy by watching all the new death games the Nightwatchers are trying out. That is, until he gets put into one. Every dragon involved belonged to the academy except two (Scott and Martyn), and only one dragon knows he’s here against his will. Enter Martyn, a Seawing that Grian quickly learns can read minds. He and Grian briefly fight before Martyn runs away, but they fight again after Grian lets Scar die by snake bite. Because Martyn can read minds, he knows this was done on purpose, but the other dragons separate them before Grian also dies. Martyn tells everyone Grian is a Nightwatcher and everyone thinks he’s crazy <\3 Grian does feel bad though, and tries to make it up to Scar by committing his first life to him. Scar accepts.

Typical third life events. Pizza! Reputation points. Desert tower. Enchanter shenanigans. Uh oh! Scar has fallen into a ravine and died. “Can we still be friends?” In this au, red lives had a magic induced bloodlust that worsens over time, and Scar is really struggling with this at first. Grian says it’s okay :D you’ll like it eventually! Scar is not amused. Ends with Grian convincing Scar to build a trap, and the two of them steal Martyn and Ren’s enchanting table.

Chapters 12-15 - That night, Martyn finds Grian sleeping in the desert, pins and silences him, and demands answers on how to escape the death game. Grian doesn’t have those answers. Martyn realizes that Grian isn’t actually valued by the Nightwatchers, and is basically useless to him. Martyn begins to mock him for this, and Grian escapes his pin, starting a fight that wakes Scar up. Just as Martyn is about kill Grian, Scar distracts him long enough for Grian to breathe fire, weakening Martyn enough for Scar to finish the job.

Grian admits everything to Scar. That he’s a Nightwatcher, was an animus, what he knows of Martyn’s role in everything, and the mind reading. Both dragons believe that Martyn won’t come back to life, but he isn’t immune to animus magic, he only resists it. The healing process is extremely slow and painful. After some time to process, Scar believes that Grian could be a valuable resource for a Nightwatcher rebellion, and is willing to stick with him. Grian is unsure. Once Martyn is revived, Scar walks him back to Dogwarts.

Next morning, Grian and Scar set up the trap, aiming for Ren, not Martyn. They meet, and ally themselves with Scott and Jimmy. The trap ends up killing Jimmy, Skizz, and Ren, and due to some Nightwatcher quirks, the suffering of this whole endeavor drives Grian a little bit nutty. He has a whole laughing thing and everyone is uncomfortable/kind of having the life drained out of them. Martyn stops Grian’s from accidentally hurting anyone else by stopping his breathing, and he and Scar go back. Neither of them are very happy.

Intermission - Martyn POV for the beheading scene. Ren is Not Happy and very afraid he won’t be able to protect them without being red. He gifts Martyn a ceremonial spear to kill him with. Martyn does not want to do this, and confesses he doesn’t think he will be coming back to life after the death game. Ren promises to do everything in his power to make Martyn the winner, but first, he needs to be red. Martyn gives in.

Chapters 17-19 - Scott and Jimmy keep visiting the desert to try and meet with Scar, but only Grian is home the entire day, and they are avoiding him like the plague. After confronting them, Scott forces Grian to leave them alone using the strategies he learned from his upbringing for dealing with mindreaders. Grian asks Scar later why they hate him. Scar says oh yeah they know you’re a Nightwatcher now and think you’re super evil after the laughing thing. Grian is not happy, and lies to Scar so he can meet Scott and Jimmy alone.

Grian surprises/scares shitless Scott and Jimmy the next day. He tries to give them gifts, but forgets where he put them, and Scott tries again to get Grian to leave them alone using his anti mind reader skills. This backfires, as Grian loses himself in Scott’s mind and accidentally lashes out in an attempt to get him to stop. Jimmy, who is red, attacks Grian in retaliation, and after doing considerable damage, is stopped by Grian. The three of them have an actual talk and Scott puts together that the Nightwatchers used Scar to find Martyn, and are trying to use Grian to figure out Martyn’s secrets. Grian commits himself to side against the Nightwatchers, angry with how they have manipulated him and how the lives of his friends and others mean nothing to them.

Then, Scar returns with a Dogwarts shield, running away from Ren, Martyn, and Skizz. Something is very clearly wrong with him. Scar, Scott, and Jimmy make it through the cactus wall (made of explosives in this au) but Grian gets a little trampled, leaving him outside with Ren, Martyn, and Skizz. Scar tells them not to come further, or he will have Grian blow up the cacti wall, killing the four. Everyone is concerned about the fact Scar is commanding Grian to blow himself up. Ren backs down. Scott argues with Scar after, angry with how he was using Grian, but quickly realizes Scar is on the verge of attacking his own allies and pivots to talking him down for that Red Life Rage. Scar has a big breakdown about the whole thing after. Grian comforts him. That is, until the Dogwarts folks start shooting for Pizza. Grian does his best to get to her, but he is too late. Pizza is dead.

The Origins of the Circle of Light: A Hasbro Show Most of You Probably Never Watched

I know the Visionaries was sort of a flop when it aired originally in the 80s, or at least, I remember it as having mostly flopped-- it couldn’t really compete with the other great shit on TV at the time, not even other Hasbro properties 

if I remember right it also aired at a timeslot (in my region at least) where it competed directly with Thundercats, which, uh, good luck beating Thundercats LOL

but for context, the first two episodes (one, two) help with figuring out the basics, if you can get through it lmao 

summary of the show:

tl;dr think medieval magic but also future sci-fi Power Rangers but also Animorphs if it were mystical and not necessarily alien stuff but also a touch of He-Man but with an ensemble cast sprinkle sort of reminiscent of GI Joe complete with some tough guy characters but also a little bit of She-Ra with a couple female characters, then sprinkle the whole thing with Dungeons and Dragons in terms of the magic elements but also Super Cool Rad Future Gear because It Was The 80s and Everything is the Future 

and of course the whole thing had extremely 80s writing and generally pretty cheesy dialogue 

it was pretty nuts, lmao 

and you might be wondering why I’m talking about this on my Transformers blog

WELL

in a Jimmy Neutron-style brain blast, out of nowhere, I remembered that the Circle of Light was a whole thing on that show!  

which was also made by Hasbro, because of course it was 

if I remember correctly, it also had overlapping production dates with Transformers, for the only season Visionaries ever got in 1987 (so concept/production probably ran for a couple years prior as well, but that’s just my guess in terms of development time) 

and in the IDW 1 era, they even did a Visionaries comic crossover with Transformers (although they didn’t mention the Circle of Light in the Visionaries context in this mini series if I remember correctly, I’ll have to re-read it to double check) 

BUT 

the Circle of Light concept was essentially done first in Visionaries: 

it’s worth remembering that the full title of the original show was Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light 

on the show, there were two groups of Knights, one of which was called the Spectral Knights (reminds me of how Spectralism was popular among the Knights of the Circle of Light in IDW 1 Transformers)

in the original Visionaries, the Circle of Light -- and this is really pushing my memory to try to remember this because it’s been MANY years since I watched this show LMAO -- was the magical basis for the Knights to form and be granted their respective powers, and was also effectively a way to refer to the Knights/their power-sources/the magic lore behind their team of Knights, and also referred to a sort of prior King Arthur/Round Table of Knights kind of situation as well (think spiritual/magic elders but also their own current group could be referred to as this, if I recall correctly-- I could be fucking this part up, though) 

their powers were also directly related to an energy/magic that was essentially gifted to them but also based on their innate personal “magic” (personality traits), which is somewhat similar to how the swords used by the Transformers Circle of Light Knights draws upon the wielder’s spark energy.

my memory is probably somewhat shitty regarding Visionaries, and there’s fairly little information about this series because it ran for a short period of time, it doesn’t have the biggest fanbase, and compared to other shows being aired at the time it’s a little more of a rough re-watch so I’m not sure how much fun it would be to go watch the whole thing again to confirm any details 

but I’m not the only one who’s noticed the similarities to the Transformers Circle of Light -- the TF Wiki page for the Circle of Light also notes that the concept existed previously in Visionaries! 

so it’s not just me, and since Visionaries was never overwhelmingly popular, I just figured I’d point it out here. I’m glad someone over at TF Wiki added this as a note. 

it would have been interesting, maybe, to see some of the Visionaries in the IDW 1 crossover maybe interact with a Spectralist, or perhaps even Drift or another Knight from Crystal City if that would be feasible 

but the storyline they went with was pretty decent, and I get that it was probably not possible within the plot they were going for or the characters they had available to work with! 

either way, hopefully this is a little interesting to those of you who never got to see Visionaries, or just aren’t familiar with it at all. <3

EXPLANATION TIME.

gem is a scourge aasimar because, like, look at her. look at her character’s story. she’s a princess of light. she worships the sun. honestly i also like the interpretation that she is a child of the sun, hence aasimar, and i made her a scourge because scourge aasimar are metal as fuck. sometimes you just gotta bleed light in the name of the sun. as for an ancient oath paladin—that just felt like it worked with her absolutely incomprehensible nature and the idea that yeah sun ancient what’re you gonna do.

false. kalashtar are people… sort of inhabited by reincarnated… dream? spirits? it’s weird and tricky and hard to explain, i’m not fully sure i understand it myself, but i thought a combination fey wanderer and kalashtar would be super fun for false’s dimension hopping thing! kalashtar don’t dream, they see windows into their past lives, and i thought that was super cool for false. plus i just love the fey wanderer subclass, and false always has ranger vibes. her fey blessing would probably be some kind of illusory feathers drifting around her or perhaps reflective coppery eyes!

katherine is the assignment i love the most and am least willing to change. before i get mauled on this one, i know there’s a ranger class called monster slayer, but this is about eight thousand times cooler. consider, for me, katherine’s story about her parents disapproving of her fighting monsters in a world where she is a high elf. high elves are weird motherfuckers like that. a beast barbarian princess who wears pink and saves fairies is my favorite fucking character ever she can use her rage to transform herself into a fucked up hulking bear creature thing and maul any dark beasts around her. her magical girl transformation is her going into a rage. i’m right on this one.

lizzie as a changeling! i loved this one because in order for her to like keep that weirdly suspicious disguise thing she’d have to be either a really bad changeling or really paranoid. and i mean it is incredibly lizzie to go “how can i make sure people don’t suspect i’m a fey shapeshifter. I KNOW. [pulls out a cardboard box with a bad drawing of her own face on it] nobody will ever notice a thing now!” circle of shepherds is because those druids have an affinity for being able to summon animal spirits to aid them in battle! lizzie’s got her crazy menagerie with her :^)

alright joel is a water genasi because i think it’s cool. he’s made of water whatre you gonna do about it. i knew i wanted to make him a sorcerer from the get go and then i read the storm sorcery page and i was like yeah. this is him. i’m like 85% sure that the wiki page even says you can get storm sorcery magic from a weird fountain. joel girlbossed too close to the sun on this one. like to imagine he just decided yeah im a god now after touching a fountain and suddenly becoming able to control lightning

fwhip’s race is pretty self explanatory! tried my best to find a race that fit the bill for cave goblin, hence darkwood goblins, who are a bit more chill and interested in machinery than other goblins, i think. the class was tough to pick for him, but i figured since he’s sort of a keeper of the end portal and was the one who wanted to solve the mystery of the stronghold, a horizon walker subclass would be good! they protect the intersection of the planes.

sausage’s race was one i struggled with a bit. i don’t know why but sausage just has such human vibes, but i just also really liked firbolg for his gentler homey sort of vibe this season. plus they’re sort of natural druids and i think that works well, as i was also considering making him a nature domain cleric, but then i found out peace domain existed and i went yeah that’s him. his empire is literally called sanctuary. his abilities all center around how good of a relationship his allies have, how well they’re able to get along, and i love that!

i have no justification for lotusden halfling scott. lotusden halflings are sort of more sneaky and tricky than typical halflings, which, it’s scott i think he deserves that, and i don’t know! i just kind of wanted to make him a halfling. scott’s so often a very typically graceful and beautiful race and idk i just wanna see him be a funny little jester with his rainbow empire full of flowers while also being beautiful and graceful anyway. a bard of creation just felt like it fit with his colorful empire, plus scott always has fey vibes and that’s a very typically fey-associated class.

joey’s race is something i struggled with HARD. i thought about verdin, i thought about kenku, i thought about half-elf, i thought about half-orc, but eventually the need to make joey graceffa a stabby murder cat won out. i imagine he’s a tiger-styled tabaxi! swashbuckler is a no-brainer and i couldn’t find anything that fit him better for me, unlike katherine, so he stays a tricksy pirate guy :^D

as i’m writing this i have just watched pix’s newest episode, episode 3, though i made this list on series launch day, and i am feeling VINDICATED. his projector thing!! he made it to help him!! he’s got his gadgets and gizmos to help him out!! i think alchemist was the subclass that encouraged the most sort of curious testing, so that’s why i chose it for him. he’s just a guy with some magic items, uncovering ghosts in the savannah like it’s a casual tuesday!

shelby obviously had to be a wizard with the way she described the system of magic she belongs to! for a bit, i wasn’t sure what subclass to give her, as we don’t know much about her specific magic capabilities, but then i found circle of scribes, and i was like yeah she needs to be part of the nerd ass wizard circle, aka the nerd class. double nerd, double academic pressure, poor thing! astral elf was just because i found it and thought it was sick as FUCK, and plus the image of this regal elven girl made and blessed by stars being exiled to the swamp is so good.

yes the sheriff is a human fighter. what do you want from me. my friend banana suggested a critrole homebrew class called gunslinger for him but 1) i have no idea how to find information on that, it wasn’t on the wiki i was using, and 2) i wanted to stay out of homebrew stuff for this list, so i felt banneret fit him the best! bannerets excel at leading others to follow them, and i think this season jimmy’s got the charisma to pull it off.

Well, I'll tell you!

This AU is my excuse to write small hermits. It's inspired a bit from CrazyCatMeow's meteor fic part for Tango (in which, when he dies, he becomes a child) and KeichiAkechi24's fic, the Hermitcraft Daycare AU (which is exclusively on Wattpad). That being said, this does take a twist on those two stories, but those two fic series got me into the idea of writing small hermits.

So here's a clearer concept for you:

Evil Xisuma, ever attention seeking, created a glitch making it so when a hermit dies or relogs into their world, they "de-age" to somewhere from 4-8. Thankfully they don't stay this way forever, instead growing up rapidly (one day of their lives equaling a year). But even with this, the hermits struggle... whether that's from being small and unable to care for themselves, more emotional than usual, or becoming extra closed off from their vulnerability. Some days it's chaos and fun and sometimes it's struggle and pain.

But you, my dearest reader, won't typically face a ton of angst. This series is supposed to be pretty chill, meaning if you're needing a bedtime story, this is for you.

a disclaimer before anyone starts reading: we all know led zeppelin is shady as hell and we hardly ever get anything confirmed or denied around here. so some stuff is up for speculation. everything in this post are things i've read in books, heard in interviews, or got from some other source. when it comes to “facts about led zeppelin” sometimes you gotta take it with a grain of salt. but honestly it’s led zeppelin we’re talking about, anything is possible. also this is all in good fun and giggles. with that being said, let’s get started with introductions to the members themselves.

born on January 9, 1944 

he’s a capricorn sun, cancer moon, and scorpio rising so you just know he’s a crazy motherfucker 

was an amazing session guitarist and basically everyone wanted him 

went to art school bc he’s just talented at everything i guess 

if you didn't know already he played the guitar for Joe cocker’s ‘with a little help from my friends’

declined his first offer to join the yardbirds but later decided to join 

was the last member to leave the group

basically was the leader of led zeppelin 

was gifted a telecaster guitar by his friend jeff beck and he adored it 

and he painted a cool dragon design on it 

played on it for the first led zeppelin album 

when he was on tour one of his friends painted over his dragon design and ruined the guitar 

he produced all of led zeppelin’s albums and is responsible for the remastering of those same albums 

paid for led zeppelin’s first album to be produced with his own money

deadass would have whips and handcuffs around with him on tour for the groupies 

but was apparently an amazing lover and cared for the people he slept with

one time he got naked on a food cart thingy, put whip cream over his body, and had john bonham push him into a room with groupies in it 

has such a small and soft voice 

was fascinated in aleister crowley and his work

would collect crowely memorabilia 

even bought crowley’s boleskine house 

had a bookstore at one point so he could get books easier 

struggled with addiction to drugs for most of the seventies 

went on a liquid diet late seventies and refused to eat solid food 

he got really skinny bc of it :( 

miss pamela (one of his girlfriends/lovers) once said that jimmy cried on the phone to her over her playboy photoshoot lmaoo

born on august 20, 1948

this is the most attractive man ever. do not argue with me. 

nicknamed percy 

wasnt jimmy’s first pick for a singer 

jerry reid suggested robert to jimmy. and when jimmy asked what he looked like jerry said, “like a greek god.”

jimmy thought something was wrong with robert when he first found him bc he was such a good singer and hadn't been signed yet 

after a practice together jimmy knew he had his singer 

he would call robert “the young guy with the powerful voice.”

he thought about leaving the band early on bc he was so nervous about being in it 

convinced john bonham to join the group bc they were the bestest of buddies 

he’s not credited on the first album bc he was still under another contract 

started song writing for the second album by jimmy’s memory 

it didn't take long for him to gain confidence and start owning the stage 

once when he was performing a dove flew in his hands 

there’s an audio of him singing john bonham happy birthday and it makes me so happy 

he would call himself a greek god 

would party with john bonham a lot 

kind of the hippy of the group 

moans moans moans and even louder moans into the microphone 

would wear women’s shirts and looked amazing in them 

nurses do it better 

not to mention his super tight jeans 

we all know his dick is huge and he’s just showing it off 

has the prettiest, fluffiest blonde hair 

and the sweetest smile

has a fear of earthquakes

though a close friend thinks that if the show went to charity robert would probably do it 

robert loved john bonham too much to play in led zeppelin without him

and i respect that a lot 

no matter how much he’s offered for a show he turns it down every time

in 1975 he got in a severe car crash and ended up being in a wheelchair 

still went on to record zeppelin’s album 

once while recording on crutches and started to fall and jimmy apparently zoomed in to save him. robert never saw him move that fast before

his five year old son (karac) died from a sudden stomach illness while he was in america on tour

absolutely crushed him 

was deeply upset that neither jimmy page or john paul jones reached out to him during that time of his life 

john bonham was there for him though 

robert apparently never forgave them for that 

a car he was working on fell on top of him and crushed some of his ribs as well 

late seventies was not a good time for robert plant 

but he got through it all like a champ

hates stairway to heaven with a passion lmao  

one time he paid a radio station a shit ton of money just to make sure they'd never play stairway to heaven again 

almost didn't sing stairway for the 2007 reunion but ended up agreeing to it after all 

he said he breaks out in hives when he has to play that song 

he and jimmy made their own symbols. robert’s is the feather inside the circle 

in 2007 he won beard of the year

oh boy, there’s a lot of stories about bonzo 

he was known as the nicest and sweetest guy ever 

unless he was drunk 

he drank a lot :/

denied jimmy’s offer to join the group and continued to deny it until robert convinced him 

once flew the starship (led zeppelin’s plane) even though he didn't have a license to 

hated touring so much 

he always missed his family 

so he drank 

he was so damn crazy when drunk that the other members would book rooms floors above where his was so he wouldn't disturb them

tore about his hotel rooms like no other 

he has a son named jason bonham who he loved a lot 

bought him a nice drum kit when he was younger 

jason is just about led zeppelin’s biggest fan next to jimmy page 

one time bonzo broke a girl’s vibrator when drunk

also punched a girl in the face when drunk once bc she waved at him 

partly responsible for the famous mud shark story where a girl was apparently fucked with a dead shark by him and zeppelin’s tour manager 

liked cars a lot 

really really loved his family. cannot stress it enough

was irked that john paul jones got out of playing shows during the christmas holiday and he didn't 

punched robert in the face once too 

him and john paul jones equals the best rhythm section ever 

jimmy would call it magic how well him and bonzo got along 

bonzo could handle anything jimmy threw at him 

he wasn't really a part of it, but he had to go to jail bc peter grant and two other dudes almost killing a man (long story omfg, but apparently the doctors had to put the dude’s eyeball back into his socket)

was there for robert when karac died 

they were really good friends 

there’s an interview with them together where bonzo is laughing at robert about his little farm 

gave good hugs apparently 

played drums like no other could and knew he was good 

but still sometimes got insecure and got upset when someone he looked up to said his drumming wasn't all that special

they had worked together before 

when he found out jimmy was forming a group he called jimmy and was basically given the spot immediately 

not only was the bassist but also the keyboardist 

and could play the recorder 

insanely talented. put some respect on his name 

he talks in italics i swear to god 

i don't have mainly crazy stories about jonesy bc he wasn't about that life 

deadass he would go on stage, perform, walk off stage and go to a whole separate hotel from the other

he would only tell one person where he was at and told them not to call unless for super urgent emergencies 

pissed peter grant off so much lmao 

wasn't really super close to anyone in the band tbh 

but bonzo was probably his greatest friend in the band 

jimmy and robert kind of leave him out in my opinion 

or they use to
