Happy Terril:

He locked one 10 year old son (Joshua) up in cryogenic suspension in a missile silo because he couldn’t deal with him. He then had his next son (Ray) raised completely in the dark by his brother and lied that if Ray went outside he’d die. And that’s just their origin stories.

A bitch-ass man who declined to raise his son for eighteen years, lied to him about sunlight killing him and to everyone else about his son having died in childbirth, and then had the temerity to complain about how the kid he did absolutely nothing to parent turned out. Somehow a worse father figure than Vandal Savage, a man who grows his descendants in vats so they can give him replacement body parts.

Ebenezer Batson:

He is Billy's uncle and former legal guardian, who stole the family's money and then abandoned Billy to live on the streets. He later tries to steal more from Billy, by taking the money he earned from being a radio jockey.

i’ve basically accepted that joe locke is going to be playing wiccan in the mcu but since that’s not confirmed yet let me share with you my slightly unhinged casting idea for billy kaplan

i want to cast joshua rush to play wiccan. if you don’t know who he is, he was a disney channel actor on the show andi mack. his character cyrus goodman was an openly and actively religious jew and the first character to ever say the words “i’m gay” on disney channel in america (possibly elsewhere but definitely here). i think rush’s acting is well suited for billy and as someone who’s followed his acting before and a fan of the young avengers comics i would love to see him take on the role of such an iconic super hero.

but that’s not the unhinged part.

the unhinged part is that another actor that was on andi mack currently plays a super hero at dc, that being asher angel who portrays billy batson aka the child portion of shazam. if joshua rush were to be cast to play billy kaplan at marvel that would mean that both of them would be playing teen superheroes named billy in movies with the same target audiences at rivaling studios and i just think it would be really funny if they started fake internet beef with each other about who has the better super hero

I got Parker’d again

Tumblr has a habit of infantilising baby faced characters played by actives who’s voices have broken. Peter Parker. Billy Batson. Ricky Bowen. And I keep falling for it. I saw so many gifsets of hsmtmts before I started watching it (I only got Disneyplus two days ago) that I didn’t know what to expect., even though I’ve seen him die on greys anatomy but he didn’t have many lines on that. And I keep forgetting Tom Holland doesn’t sound like Tommy pickles. The infantilism really does a number on you. With Billy it’s a little more understandable cause I only ever saw a single episode of andi mack. But Asher has gone through puberty. And you can tell by the voice. A toddler he isn’t. Nor does he sound like it. With Tony Stark it’s sort of the opposite. He’s basically shrouded in myth so you’d thing he’d have a deep voice but he doesn’t. He sounds like he gargles helium each morning. It’s not a dig at Robert by any means. But the hype built around these characters makes it rather jarring when you actually watch the stuff and reality hits
