“Galactic Melancholy”-esque talentswap KG fic?? PLEASE tell us more, pretty please!

Alright!

So, like Galactic Melancholy, “Danganronpa: Atlantic Sorrow” is a talentswap fic with a mix of characters from the game! It takes place in a mysterious underwater facility, and is headed by a mysterious mermaid known as Monohina, heading by her crab and fish sidekicks.

The primary twist is that these talents are taken from Danganronpa Another and Danganronpa Another 2!

Our protagonist is Komaru Naegi, the Ultimate Pilot! Thanks to her having an Ultimate talent, I’d believe that she would be a far more confident person, without her losing that good ol’ Komaru charm. In spite of her hermbo energy, Komaru’s shocking moments of intelligence and craftiness could help her survive in the diametric opposite of the sky!

But she is not alone in her endeavors, for she also has the help of:

Toko Fukawa, the cowardly and distrusting Ultimate Police Officer as well as Komaru’s support, with a hidden free-spirited side!

Sayaka Maizono, the charismatic and cheery Ultimate Merchant/famous advertising personality with a million-dollar smile!

Leon Kuwata, the burnt-out prodigy Ultimate Actor who wants nothing more than to step out of the limelight and follow a different dream!

Chihiro Fujisaki, the timid yet superbly-kind-hearted Ultimate Cheerleader who wants nothing more than to assert himself as a real man!

Sakura Oogami, the wise and contemplative Ultimate Psychologist, who’s a firm believer in a healthy body equalling a healthy mind!

Kazuichi Souda, the Ultimate Billiards Player who wishes to reinvent himself as a tough assertive person, but can’t shake his natural cowardice!

chiaki is a-okay with all that, especially that whole wakizashi thing...

she thinks it's pretty cool, mostly the fact that you're brave enough to have a weapon on you at all times.

though sometimes whenever you guys get into childish little arguments, she'll be half-expecting for you to threaten her with your wakizashi.

but you would never hurt her.

you guys have a secret base in an old janitor's closet whenever you were hiding from nekomaru, akane or kazuichi or when you guys were just skipping class.

it took you both 2 weeks to decorate it with colorful and bright LED's, fluffy pillows and blankets, posters that may or may not be inappropriate, and a nantendo gamegirl charging dock for chiaki to well... charge her nantendo.

if you do sing vocaloid (or any other song), chiaki would always beg and persist to listen, even if you'd say no a hundred times.

well... not really good, but also good.

you guys would definitely argue a lot, since you both lose your tempers easily.

but then again after awhile it's either him or you finding the other crawling back to each other, begging and apologizing.

mostly it's hajime since you're stubborn.

It didn't take long for him to finally move on

After all, what he had for Sonia was little more than some superficial crush

Sure, she was great and all, but his feelings never went beyond that crush

With that, he finally decided to give up and find someone else

While he was roaming around the school, he spotted Fuyuhiko talking to his sister, Natsumi

Kazuichi wasn't sure what it was, but he held his gaze on Natsumi for a moment

Something about her attitude, the way the sun shined on her hair and made it appear golden was mesmerizing to him

And with that, the mechanic finally found himself a new target

He knew trying to get her attention wouldn't be easy

She was in a different class, and if Fuyuhiko caught him anywhere near her, he'd be dead

Which Natsumi had used as a threat against Kazuichi multiple times

But of course, that didn't stop him

He felt something for her that he never felt for Sonia, and he damn well wasn't about to lose his chance

So anytime Fuyuhiko wasn't around, Kazuichi wasted no time in approaching Natsumi

Naturally, he was met with coldness

Natsumi was not the most sociable person

She thought he was clingy and annoying

But that didn't stop him, and he continued talking to her

Fuyuhiko got suspicious and asked what his problem was, but he ignored the Pomeranian lookalike and kept shooting his shot

After a while, Natsumi finally started to warm up to the mechanic

She didn't start acting nice all of a sudden, but she did stop pushing him away, which seemed like progress in his eyes

Eventually, Fuyuhiko had enough and he, Peko, and his yakuza surrounded Kazuichi

But Natsumi rushed him and told him to stop, finally declaring aloud that she loved Kazuichi

This gathered shocked looks from everyone around, and Natsumi once again ordered Fuyuhiko to back off

on his left is a koi fish, a common feature in traditional japanese woodcut, and bluebells, which symbolize gratitude

on his back, there are five dragon heads emerging from a central point. the two on the sides are cut off (representing his parents), and the one on the top is as well, though it has a branch of cherry blossoms growing from the stump, which symbolize kindness and the transience of life. this neck is meant to represent his sister. the two diagonally to either side grow onto his arms. the five headed dragon is just generally meant to represent his family/clan — he wasnt sure if putting nine on there would give enough room for the other stuff he wanted, so they just settled on five

the dragon head on his right shoulder is meant to just sort of represent himself. the tail that wraps around his left bicep also features a katana and a camellia blossom, specifically a red one, which symbolizes both love and “perishing in grace”. this part of the dragon is, of course, meant for peko.

on his left shoulder are also a few kamchatka fritillaries, which symbolize both love and a curse

on his right arm and elbow replacing his mother’s hand are aster flowers, specifically tartarian aster, which symbolize remembrance. below that are just some traditionally stylized clouds to cover up the fire from before

on his left forearm is a little sigil he came up with, featuring a wrench, a crown, roses, and chains. this little combo is meant to represent his connections to the other survivors, kazuichi, sonia, and akane. on the wrist, replacing the band that symbolized his devotion to junko, is one featuring fifteen little pips in a bunch of different colors. y’all can guess with that one

on the back of his neck, above the cherry blossoms for natsumi, are a sunflower and orange blossoms. sunflowers symbolize respect and passionate love, and orange blossoms can mean purity, but thats… not really why he has either of them. and hajime also knows thats not why he has either of them. they dont talk about it.

(fun fact, orange blossoms are well known for being considered an aphrodisiac. just thought that was a fun thing to know.)

and finally, in the middle of his back, below the dragons, are a pair of red-crowned crane phoenixes. the crane is known in japan and china as being a sign of good luck and for granting favors, and the phoenix felt like it represented fuyuhiko in a weird way to me — but he specifically asked for two of them. because despite these being the final additions to his menagerie, he felt like he didnt yet have enough ink on his body representing how important hajime is to him, so he put this sappy shit in there. They Do Not Talk About It.

also, if youre wondering why he has a cross necklace, i. um. well. i just think. look they had to have left stuff in their lockers and dorms at the academy when they faked their deaths and most of the school was closed off to class 78 and its not like the Limbs could get in while they were there and then the Foundation would have raided the school so maybe they found some of their old stuff and look i’m just sayin that maybe—

thinking about a soudam genshin au where kazuichi is an inventor and gundham is a zoologist. very long drabbles below lol

gundham has a cryo vision (he’s the overlord of ice, after all) and kazuichi has a pyro vision

kazuichi’s family used to live in kannazuka like a really really long time ago but they moved to the poorer parts of inazuma city and have stayed there since. gundham was born in borou village but his mom found a job in the city and moved the two of them there when he was like five

they grew up somewhat around each other and have a general disdain for each other, having formed a rivalry when they attended school in inazuma city together

but now these two young adults are fresh out of school and being thrust into the job market. except, neither of them feel ready at all

they don’t teach you much about inventing and zoology in classes focused on writing and reading, after all

so they both independently decide that they want to travel the world of teyvat and learn as much as they can before returning to inazuma and actually starting their careers

kazuichi wants to learn about all the mechanical innovations supposedly happening, gundham wants to learn about the creatures native to other lands

the only problem with that is the new sakoku decree… passage in and out of the country is heavily restricted

so, with the vision hunt decree just announced, a strong desire to explore the world, but no safe way out on their own, gundham and kazuichi agree to team up, just this once, to escape inazuma for a trip around teyvat

the plan was to only stick together until they reached the port of liyue harbour, but the duo quickly realize that surviving on their own outside of the country they’ve always known is a lot harder than it looks, so they have no choice but to stick together during their travels in the six unfamiliar nations across the sea

and, of course, they fall in love along the way

some ideas about their adventures:

in liyue,

kazuichi gains way too much unimportant fishing knowledge. he realizes that the technology that fishermen in ritou use could be improved and makes some sketches to give to the fishing association

gundham somehow manages to tame a baby geovishap hatchling that’s all alone, but they’re able to find the mother after a day of wandering the guili planes and treating the hatchling like their son, protecting it

somehow they end up lost in huaguang stone forest and are able to encounter cloud retainer, who takes an instant liking to gundham but hates kazuichi for being a mess. gundham never lets him forget it

they’re both super scared about visiting the chasm but sneak in together anyway (to make the other think they’re brave and strong) (but they end up running away as soon as they hear some loud noises lol)

they spend a lot of time in liyue harbour and probably circle back to it when they’re travelling between the west and the east. gundham compares the stuff at wanwen bookhouse to the stuff at yae publishing house, and is very pleasantly surprised when there's a lot of fantasy novels. kazuichi examines the dockyard and trips, falling right into the water. the city becomes somewhat of a home away from home for them, and they have some fond memories there

in sumeru,

kazuichi is VERY excited to receive an akasha terminal, but he breaks his by accident as soon as it’s handed to him. to make him feel better, gundham doesn’t wear his own either, claiming it’s an evil device (and he’s actually correct, so they both avoid that whole dream mess)

they are both directionally challenged so exploring sumeru city leads to a lot of getting lost on the winding paths. kazuichi almost gets scammed out of his mora on treasures street, which freaks him out a little, so gundham drags him to puspa cafe to appease him with food

gundham is super excited about the new fauna, but he’s injured by a rishboland tiger, and begrudgingly lets kazuichi carry him back to gandharva ville for treatment. that does not stop him from trying to approach dangerous animals, though. luckily, the spinocrocodile took more of a liking to him

they visit the desert because gundham wants to see the vultures, but they end up spending more time investigating ruins with unique mechanisms because kazuichi wants to learn to replicate the old technology. that being said, gundham definitely befriends a vulture that sits on his shoulder for a while lol. he has a very hard time saying goodbye to it

in mondstadt,

when they get to mondstadt, gundham feeds the pigeons on the bridge a little too much, causing them to flock behind him wherever he goes. it’s funny for like fifteen minutes, but becomes a bit of a nuisance

most of the rooms at the goth grand hotel are taken, so they have to share a bed lmao. kazuichi also definitely jokes about the name of the place and how gundham was meant to stay there someday

thanks to the rivalry, kazuichi absolutely insists that they need to have a drinking contest at angel’s share, which neither of them really win because they both end up equally thrown. cue a very drunk but very fun night in the city, where they wake up in their room with pounding headaches and regret everything because they had planned a hike up starsnatch cliff

they weren’t really planning on going to dragonspine at first, but rumours of a great snowboar king are all it takes to convince gundham that he has to go. kazuichi tries to convince him not to, but gundham has made up his mind, so kazuichi tags along saying that he doesn’t want gundham to freeze to death up there. kazuichis's pyro vision comes in handy and he’s able to keep them warm during their trek, while gundham takes care of any hilichurls in the way. they don’t find the actual snowboar king (because he only shows up when you kill the little boars, which gundham would never allow) but they do enjoy the views and bond through their shared trauma of dealing with the sheer cold

as for the other details...

they each bought their own travel diary in liyue harbor at the beginning, to use to remember everything they’ve learned and seen on their journey. the first pages are like that, of course, but interspersed between notes and stories are gundham's unfinished poems about how lovely kazuichi’s hair looks when it’s flowing in the winds of mondstadt, or kazuichi’s hastily drawn sketches of gundham’s soft smile when witnessing the landscapes in fontaine

once their journey has come to an end, and they’ve heard the news that the vision hunt and sakoku decrees have been abolished, they return to liyue harbour to head back home. but then they realize that this is the end of spending time together, and even though they’d grown so close, maybe the other wouldn’t want anything to do with them once they return…

they both make up a bunch of excuses to waste time and end up missing the boat, causing them to spend three more days in liyue harbour while waiting for the next one. during the three days, they awkwardly dance around confessing to each other, but when evening comes on the third day and the boat arrives, gundham gets his shit together and confesses. kazuichi, flabbergasted, confesses right back

so they both admit they’re in love with the other, they return to inazuma city, and they start dating :) they also eventually get ahold of each other’s notebooks and cuddle while browsing though them and reminiscing lol

it also might be cool if they met other characters along the way ex. kyoko as yanfei, ibuki as xinyan, sakura as dehya, asahina as amber, yasuhiro as kazuha, nagito as thoma etc., but it would also work if all the other ultimates are people they already know and went to school with in inazuma and maybe they just think about them from time to time ex. they visit wanmen restaurant and think teruteru would enjoy the food, they see beetles in the desert that remind them of gonta, they visit fontaine which is sonia’s homeland, they desperately wish they brought mikan whenever one of them gets injured etc lol

I read a fanfic on Ao3 where Kaz LOVES fish and that stuck for me. Like he doesn’t get along with just about ANY other animal and never had pets growing up bc funds growing up but had a goldfish once and fish are cool as hell. I always bc as fish not being a Gundham strong suit and one day says a fish fact wrong and Kaz Corrects him without even thinking and someone actually looks it up bc of how fucking hard he doubled down and knew about it (bc Kaz has read every book the library would have sent to their location on fish and then the ones Hopes peak has) and also you cannot put those fish in the same tank THEY WILL EAT EACHOTHER and don’t feed them that food it’s literally the WORST for them please never ( I don’t know enough about fish to fill in these blanks that’s Souda’s fixation ok). (I need to clarify that I know the general public's information on what fish need is very little and they are usually ignorant to what a fish actually needs and end up neglecting them, I'm talking from the perspective of someone who doesn't know and doesn't care)

He, as every child, at some point asked for a pet (probes a puppy, he seems like a dog person).

But his dad (being the abusive fuck he is) probably reacted by being mad "What the fuck do you mean a dog? Do you think we have money for a dog? Space? Time? Who's gonna pay and take care of it? You? Because I for goddam sure ain't! I have shit to do I work my ass off all day while you do nothing but lazing around!"

Some days later hid dad comes home with a fish bowl and some goldfish he won one of those festivals

Kaz is bummed out at first (his dad screams at him about being an ungrateful, spoiled cunt) but he ends up growing to like them. Kaz treasures those fish, he's really sad to see them die so quickly, but his dad keeps bringing new ones home. After all they are really cheap and easy to take care of.

Because Kaz is a fucking nerd (And ND, my Kaz has ADHD, diagnosed as a kid, but had it dismissed by his dad has some type of bullshit and grew up thinking that only affected his sleep schedule and made him more energetic, he doesn't take medication // I did say I was protecting)

He starts reading about them from books in the school library, falling in love with different species and thinking of the ones he dreams to own.

And that's how he ends up realizing how bad the fish are being taken care of.

How it's just cruel to have them in such bad conditions. When the last one dies, he tells his dad that he doesn't want to have anymore (And he gets a beating from it "you're such an ungrateful bastard, I work all dam day for you and still get you the stupid fish and this is how you pay me?")

He feels lonely without them, so he starts to read more, memorizing tons of species and how to care for them

Years later-

At Hope's Peak Academy, half way through his first year, a classmate mentions something about a specific fish.

And before they could be interrupted by a certain local edglord, Kaz beats him to it and just start info-dumping about said fish

The room is quiet

Gundham's impressed, why does the shark toothed have such vast knowledge about that?

And that becomes a bonding point for their relationship, the beginning of their turn from rivals to lovers friends

It’s cold, and it’s dark. Your heels are too tall to walk comfortably in, especially down the poorly paved back roads that lead to the train station. The moon hangs high in the sky and is your only source of light as you are rounding the final corner, you tug your shawl tighter around your shoulders, though the fabric is so thin that it doesn’t provide much warmth at all.

You hadn’t dressed for walking, you weren’t meant to be walking at all, but the night hadn’t gone as planned in more ways than one. You sigh shakily as you finally reach the train station, sitting down on one of the open benches and shivering as the cool air passes through you again.

The next train isn’t for an hour.

You can feel yourself starting to tear up, pressing the heel of your palms into your eyes to try and stop the tears from coming. A quiet sob escapes your lips and your shoulders shake.

Fishing your phone from your pocket, you quickly wipe your nose on the back of your hand and dial your best friend’s number. The dial tone rings hollow in your ear for a few seconds, and then he picks up:

You sniffle, “Hey, Kaz.”

“Oh! Hey!” He replies, you can hear his mechanical keyboard clacking in the background over some upbeat music, “Aren’t you meant to be on a date?” he spams a key frantically and then hisses out a quiet, “goddammit, fuyuhiko”

It’s game night. You would usually be playing with them if not for the disaster of a date. You, Kazuichi and Nagito play together once a fortnight, Fuyuhiko joins when he can, but he’s busy more often than the rest of you are. Everyone was upset when you said you wouldn’t be able to make it tonight, you’re upset too now, but hindsight is 20/20.

“I was on a date, it just uh…” you clear your throat, trying not to sound so sad, “it didn’t go so well?”

“Shit! Are you okay?” Kazuichi says loudly, “ah, fuck. One second -“ he starts talking to the others over the headset, “-yeah I have to go AFK for a bit, sorry. Everything’s fine, Nagito. stop getting so worked up. Yeah, I’ll be back soon” you hear his headset clunk on the desk and his old chair creak when he stands up. Kazuichi always paces when he talks on the phone. It’s cute, “are you safe? Did he try anything?” Kaz says quite seriously.

You smile, it’s nice that he worries about you, “No, nothing like that, he was just a dickhead. He was also my ride home though, I’m waiting for the train.”

“No you aren’t.” He says decisively, grabbing his keys from by the front door. You hear them jangle in his palm as he heads out to his car, “I’m coming to get you, which station?”

“You don’t have to, Kaz! It’s game night!”

Kazuichi chuckles, opening the driver's side door and getting into the car, “oh yeah, you think that both Nagito and Fuyuhiko would be happy to hear I left you stranded out in the cold?” He turns on the ignition and you hear the car rev to life, “Nagito would get all passive aggressive and Fuyuhiko would get regular aggressive and I just don’t feel like dealing with that tonight.”

“Okay okay!” You reply, marvelling and how easy it is for Kazuichi to make you laugh even when you’re feeling miserable, “You’ve got me, I won’t make you suffer through that.”

“Which station are you at? I’ll be there as soon as I can.”

It only takes about ten minutes for you to see Kazuichi’s familiar car pull into the parking lot. The car itself is pretty old, but Kaz always manages to keep it running, he takes better care of it than he does himself and that’s a little sad honestly, but you shouldn't be one to talk. If it wasn’t for him, your own car would be stuck in a ditch somewhere, you’re useless with repairs. Maybe that’s why you’ve clung this close to him for so many years.

Kaz rolls down the window when you step closer, giving you a sad smile, “You doing alright?”

You return the smile, and open the passenger side door, “Yeah. I'm alright now.”

“Sure you don't want me to drive back there and punch him?.” you can see his fingers tapping on the steering wheel, you can tell that he’s only half joking.

“He’s not worth it. Just a total asshole.”

You don’t see Kaz without his contacts very often, only when he’s caught off guard. When he turns to look at you, his brown eyes catch the glow from the streetlight outside the car. His glasses are thick rimmed and his eyes are actually very pretty, you don't know why you haven't told him that. You don't know why you can't manage to tell him that now.

“Do you wanna talk about it...or?”

You shrug, kicking your heels off into the footwell and clicking in your seatbelt, “There isn't much to talk about. He just...I dunno…”

Kazuichi puts the car back in gear and starts reversing out of the parking lot, he sighs, “you dunno? Or you dont wanna tell me?” he pulls the car back onto the main road and starts heading towards your apartment, “you don't have to or anything, i just...i worry about you, i guess.”

“He said I was ugly.” you finally say, feeling yourself deflate a little at the memory, “It’s a stupid thing to be so upset about but, it just...hurt…”

“Wait. So did he just sit down at the table and call you ugly? Straight off the bat?”

You laugh a little, “No no! It wasn't quite that bad, his exact words were ‘not as pretty as the people i usually date’ and then he tried to pour me a glass of wine like he hadn't just insulted me.”

“Fuck, man.” Kaz huffs and runs a hand through his hair, “Are you sure you don't want me to punch him?”

“I’m sure, if we saw him again I’d probably punch him myself and then we would both get in trouble.” You sigh, lifting your hands up behind your head to work on undoing the elaborate updo you had coaxed your hair into before leaving home, “I tried really hard to look nice. I really did.”

Kazuichi swallows, eyes drifting to where you are sitting beside him. Sucking in a breath at the way the orange light from the streetlamps illuminates you in the darkness. The slope of your bare neck, the way your delicate fingers work to undo your hair.

“Yeah, well, that guy was an idiot.” Kazuichi breathes, and turns his eyes back to the road, “you look really good tonight.”

There’s a beat, and then he says-

“-I...I mean, you look good every night. Not just tonight or anything, I just meant that you look, like, especially good tonight. As opposed to normal, when you look good, but not like--”

“Kaz!” You exclaim, resting your hand on top of his on the stick shift. You can't help but wonder why the feeling of his hand under yours makes your heart race, “It’s fine, you don't need to explain it, i know what you’re trying to say. Thank you.”

His mouth curls up in a lopsided smile, and you pull your hand away as he shifts the car into fourth, “It’s going to be a bit before we get back to your place, you can hook your phone up to the bluetooth if you want.”

“Yeah, uh, thanks…” you say, doing as he said and connecting your phone to his stereo system. You pick something light to listen to, not really feeling like anything more than that, “Kaz?”

His eyes flit over to you, “Yeah?”

You sigh, combing your fingers through your hair, “Could I come back to your place instead, I know it’s game night but i--” you turn away from him to look out the window, “--I don't want to be alone. I’ll just replay the night over and over, all I will do is make myself feel worse.”

“Oh.” He clears his throat, “Yeah, sure! My apartment is kind of a mess though? I wasn't expecting company or anything.”

“What? No girls coming over tonight?” you tease.

Kazuichi laughs halfheartedly, “Yeah, no girls. It’s fine though, I'm sure Nagito and Fuyuhiko will understand when I tell them I can't play, and I can sleep on the couch if you want to take my bed.” he panics a little, “Or, you--you can take the couch. You don't have to sleep in my bed.”

It’s cute when Kazuichi gets flustered. You’ve always taken joy in riling him up a little, just to see his cheeks turn pink. In the dim light of the car, you can see that his roots are starting to grow back, it's probably been at least a month since he last dyed his hair. You feel...special. That you get to see him wearing his glasses and when his hair is still undyed. Not many people get to. There aren't many he trusts enough.

There’s a little bump when he pulls the car up into his parking spot and you shiver just a little when he turns off the ignition and the heating turns off with it.

Kazuichi notices, “Let’s get you inside before you freeze, huh?”

“Good idea.” You reply, opening the door and stepping out of the car. Kazuichi locks the car quickly and then starts heading up the stairs to his apartment, you follow behind him rubbing your arms to stave off the cold, “Thank you again, by the way, for coming to get me.”

He unlocks the front door and gestures for you to go in before him, “Hey, no need to thank me. What are friends for?” He closes the door behind the both of you, and you lean one hand against the wall for balance as you take off your shoes.

You’ve always liked his apartment. You like that none of his plates match, that his desk is always covered with nuts and bolts from whatever he has last been tinkering with. You dont think you’ve ever seen the overhead lights on, there’s a lamp in almost every corner of the room and he uses those instead. Kazuichi has always liked it a little dim, it's cozier anyway, so you don't mind.

“Do you want something to drink?” He says, toeing off his own shoes and putting them next to yours by the door, “I have tea, it’s Nagito’s weird herbal stuff though.”

You laugh, “If by ‘weird herbal stuff’ you mean chamomile, then that would be fine.”

“Yeah, that sounds right. I dunno, he just left it in my cupboard last time he came over.” He starts heading into the kitchen, but quickly turns back to face you, “Uh, do you have something else to wear, you probably don't, right?”

“Oh, yeah. I didn't really think about that.” you grimace, sleeping in the dress is the last thing you want to do, “Can i borrow a shirt or something?”

Kazuichi turns visibly pink, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, “Yeah, sure! You know where my room is, just grab anything you want from the top drawer, I don't mind.”

He turns to head back into the kitchen and you walk over to his bedroom door. It’s true that you have been in here many times, but something about the way it feels tonight is different. For some reason, seeing the mess of dark grey sheets on his bed makes your heart speed up, just a little.

You shake the thoughts away and head over to his drawers, rifling through to find something comfortable. There’s an old band t-shirt that looks at least three sizes too big for Kaz, but the perfect size for you to wear to bed. It smells like his laundry detergent.

“Everything okay in here?” Kazuichi asks, peering around the doorframe almost like he is too nervous to enter his own room.

You smile, “Yeah, all good. I’m just going to change now if that’s okay?”

He turns pink again, and his voice squeaks when he says, “sure! I’ll just be...in the kitchen…”

When he turns away, you bring your hands up to the zipper at the back of your dress, but are only able to tug it down half an inch before it gets stuck. You huff and continue pulling to no avail. “Hey, Kaz?”

He comes back to the door, “Uh. yeah?”

“I think my zipper is stuck, would you mind?”

Kazuichi swallows, “Oh, uh, sure.” He steps around behind you, and brushes your hair over your shoulder so it won't get in his way. You can feel his breath on the back of your neck, you can feel how shaky his hands are when they grab the zipper and slowly start working it down. Your heart is racing. Why is it so fast?

“I think...I think it’s unstuck now.” He whispers, the warmth of his hands is still present on your back.. The energy in the room has changed completely, there’s a weight of something you can't quite place hanging in the air. The way Kazuichi’s hands shake makes you suspect he is feeling it too.

You turn around to face him. His eyes are wide and questioning, one of his hands shakily drifting down to your waist and all of a sudden, you know clear as day what is going to happen next. Your gaze flits between his eyes and his lips, and you notice the distance between you is growing less and less but you can't be sure if it is you moving or him. You’ve never noticed how soft his lips look before now.

They are even softer when they press against yours. There is an urgency to it, his hand immediately jumping up to cup your jawline and yours tangling in the back of his hair. You tilt your head to the side, deepening the kiss and gasping into his mouth when you feel his tongue brush your lips.

“Is...is this okay?” he breathes against you, still clutching desperately at your waist, “I dont...I dont want to take advantage of you or anything?”

“Advantage of me?” You ask

“Y--Yeah…’cause of what happened with that guy earlier today, i don't wanna--”

You cup his cheek in your hand, his pretty brown eyes blink down at you from behind his glasses, panicked, “Kazuichi. I don’t want to stop.”

He laughs a little, “That’s a relief. I...I didn't want to stop either.”

His lips are on your again, open mouthed and hot as he guides you back towards his bed. You flop backwards, pulling him down with you and on top of you. He gasps a little, but his lips never leave yours, you can hear him breathing heavily against you as one of his hands starts working your dress further down your shoulders.

“Sit up.” You whisper, “It’ll be easier if you pull it up over my head.”

“O--oh, okay.” He stammers, sitting back on his heels and grabbing the hem of your dress. You lift your hips up a little to help him pull it out from under you, and then he slowly starts working it up over your torso. He chokes on a surprised noise when he pulls it over your chest and realises your breasts are bare underneath, “You...uh...you’re not--”

You smirk, “Losing your nerve?”

Kaz frowns and pulls the dress up the rest of the way, tossing it off the bed when it is finally completely off, “No! I was just surprised, is all.” he swallows, eyes softening, “You’re really beautiful.”

monokuma could only laugh as gundham full on broke down, "such smart cookies, all of you! correct, once again, class! kazuichi souda killed y/n l/n! nyuknyuknyuk~!"

as the rest of the class watched kazuichi's elimination, all gundham could think about was survival. was it even worth it anymore? to survive without the one person he swore to protect.. and failed in doing so.

a hand fell onto his shoulder, and he looked down to see sonia. the princess smiled at him, comfortingly rubbing her friend's shoulder, "i know how much they meant to you," she said, tears welling up in her own eyes, "im going to miss them, too..." she was a good friend of yours as well. being so close to gundham meant she got to know you first, and you two became good friends, and occasionally cafe buddies.

gundham felt his throat clench, and he clung to the blonde in a tight hug, which she returned with equal strength as they sobbed into each other- sonia's cries small and fragile against gundham's loud, pained sobs.

you had sat at gundham's pod for a while, waiting for it to open with your hand pressed against the cold glass. you heard a gasp behind you, before a loud cry, and you knew almost immediately who it was. "sonia.." you said, smiling softly before opening your arms for a hug. she gladly accepted, running up to you with full force and nearly toppling your larger frame over. "you ha-had no idea how m-much we missed you, y/n," sonia sobbed into your shoulder, gripping at your clothes tigher, "gundham and i- we-.. i-.."

you shushed the poor girl, petting her head as she calmed down slowly, "i understand, i'm sorry for having left you both so soon..."

you both looked over to gundham's pod, watching the glass lift as your boyfriend came to. "hey there, sleepy head," you teased, letting go of sonia to pet the breeder's pepper hair, stroking it away from his face.

gundham could only look at you, shock plastered on his face, expression stuck like a fish out of water. "y-y/n.." he stuttered out finally, sitting up to get a closer look at you, "y/n!" he stumbled out of the pod, gripping onto you- similar to how sonia reacted, only this time, he managed to actually make you fall over. you chuckled, patting the boys back, "hey, hey, hey; don't cry. i'm here, baby boy, i'm here now..."

"i thought i had lost you, my dove," he said, pitifully mumbled into your shoulder so only you could hear. his voice sounded so weak.

"its alright, i know.. i'm so sorry..."

gundham let go, wiping his tears on his scarf, and you kissed him once more on the lips. "there, there," you hushed him. at this point, sonia and the rest of your class had been escorted out of the room. it was just you and him now. gundham clung to you for dear life, as if you were the very thing keeping his soul tethered to this realm. "gundham," you whispered softly, patting his hair, "let's go join the others, yea?"

"in a bit, darling," he said, nearly begging, "i'd like to just... hold you... in my arms, like this, just for a bit.." he added later, quietly, "please..?"

you sighed, nodding, placing a kiss to his forehead. after all, who knew how long you two had spent apart? who knew how much time you two had left? holding him for a minute or five wouldn't hurt either of you, and quite frankly thats all the either of you really wanted right now.

-he’s a generally reserved person, not opening up about himself much if at all until farther into the relationship.

-His love language is giving you gifts!

-He travels a lot so by the time he’s back its like christmas lol

-if he comes home(assuming you live in the same apartment) at a time he knows ur asleep, he joins you in bed.  May not sleep if he’s had tea or something to drink, but he enjoys it when he gets in bed and you almost instantly cling to him.

-Doesn’t like to be touched, that being said he LOVES invading your personal space.  He’s wrapping an arm around your shoulders, waist, he’s spinning you around and goofing off, playing with your hair, ect. 

-try and do the same with him and he won’t tell you not to, but he will be quite stiff and still.  At least at the beginning of the relationship

-Loves 20’s and 30’s music? Like, Button Up Your Overcoat by Helen Kane? That shit slaps to him and if you like it too, then prepare to listen to it often.

-not one for public dates, loves dancing with you in your kitchen.  Loves picnics too!

-doesn’t matter if you can’t cook, he’ll eat it even if it’s mostly burnt.  He might even figure out a way to make what you make taste edible lol

-He loves taking photos of you randomly doing things.  Cooking dinner? He’s got a picture.  Drawing? Picture.  Reading? He’s got one. Picking flowers on a picnic date? Obviously.  You mid scream bc of a horror game jumpscare? He’s got two.

-If you end up asking about his bandages and stuff, he takes them off to show you various scars and marks.  If you ask, he tells you about the ‘welcoming’ he got from natives of an area he was visiting. He doesn’t tell you he almost died though lol.

-He’ll make you bracelets n stuff

-He likes falling asleep with you on top of him.  Helps him feel grounded and he loves holding you

-Fights are almost non-existent between you two.

-unless it’s about his trauma.  But you two don’t often talk about that unless he’s had a day where he can’t stop thinking and even then you just hold him while he cries and talks about it.

-If you have any trauma he’s more than willing to help you through your issues, making you tea, holding you, calming you down.  He’s a listener.

-He wants to know everything about you.  What you like, what you don’t like, what makes you happy, what to avoid.  He wants to make sure you’re comfy with everything.

-he always asks before touching you, kissing you, entering a room you’re in when the door is closed, calling you ect.

-You do the same.  You always ask if you can go into his room, if you can look when he has his mask off, if you can hold his hand and stuff.

-He has a little garden! Mostly roses, but he likes it.

-You’ve made him masks and he adores them.  His favorite has roses on the sides.

-Korekiyo loves you sm and you get along very well

-Valentines day you guys just stay inside and watch awful romance movies while cuddling.

-they’re little notes with poems saying how much he loves you

-one thing he’s used to quickly is having your arms linked.  He enjoys it.  The devas do too.  They can go from him to you!

-He’ll excuse himself 3 times a day to shower.  Man has hamsters on him constantly, wears no underwear and is a little paranoid about being smelly since he was bullied for smelling like a hamster when he was younger.

-He isn’t someone to ask for cuddles, but when he’s had a rough day he’ll ask to lay down with you.  He likes laying with his head on your lap or stomach and his arms around your waist while you mess with his hair.

-He has hard days a lot when out of highschool.  So when he comes home from work (he works as a tour guide at a zoo change my mind) he likes to just,,,,collapse into you.  He likes when you hold his face and kiss his forehead

-he’s a very affectionate person in private!

-Fights are super rare between you two. Like, super rare.  If you have an issue you both sit down to talk.  You listen and work it out, and then things are fine.

-he doesn’t eat most meats.  The only one he eats is fish.  He will not eat any other meat.

-meals are easy with him though, you try your best for him and he loves it. You can make meals with meat in them and remove the meat from half of it for him and when you do he’s so happy.  You think of him and he adores that.

-Lovey poems, notes, gifts, little things that make you both smile. 

-his love language is gifts and notes.

-He’s surprisingly popular with kids at his work, so when you go to visit him with lunch, you’re kinda surprised at first to see him crouched down with a group of 5-8 year olds, talking about birds and lizards.

-You wait till the kids are collected and then go over, smiling

-he’s a little embarrassed.

-Valentines day is a DAY for you two
