What were your biggest inspirations while writing "Watch The Sky With You" and "An LED Light at The End of The Tunnel"?

oooh I love this question. 

For Watch the Sky With You, my main inspiration was simply the idea of Dedfour being in side order. You can imagine my dissappointment when the two never canonically interacted once, which kind of hurts to say because it is shattering my delusion. However, I also got inspiration from a bunch of theories on tumblr about agent 4 being parallel canon, and my ask blog. This was in the way early days of my blog, so a lot of my asks were fueling my fan fiction. They don’t really anymore since I don’t often post about the fanfic I’m writing while I’m writing it, and I haven’t gotten many LED Light asks as of yet. 

As for LED Light, inspirations for that one were more of a story. Part of it was Splatoon 3��s story mode, part of it was researching mental illnesses for Itys, part of it was this outfit specifically, and part of it was a series of youtube videos and a fanfiction. I will link the set of videos here. I highly suggest giving them a watch, as they are really good and you can really see the inspiration I pulled from them. 

I discovered these youtube videos prior to starting the story, so they are what fueled the beginning. Then I fell into a rut and stopped writing LED Light for months to focus on Watch the Sky With You. After that I didn’t feel able to pick LED Light back up again. That’s when I was introduced to I’ll Show You What You've Done by Epsilon_Ink. The sheer amount of inspiration that reading this gave me is insane. This dragged me out of my writiers block faster than I have ever been dragged before. When I got this inspiration, it was summer, so I sat outside to write because vitamin D. I suffiiciently wore sunscreen on my shoulders and arms, but assumed my legs would be protected by the shade. Having pale ass white person paper skin that burns if I think about the sun, I should have known this was a terrible idea. I wrote for three hours straight. I had my laptop on my lap the whole time which protected my things, and my shins were tucked safely under my chair, but my knees were in direct sunlight and got roasted to a crisp. I was burnt on exclusively my knees. I looked like how I imagine Elf on the Shelf wearing shorts would look with bright red knees that match that demon spawn’s bright red cheeks. (Unrelated but I have a strange hatred towards elf on the shelf). Point is it gave me so much inspiration and actually led me to write the entirety of Nell’s fuzzy story arc. Originally she was just going to question Octarian authority and that’s it. But this fic made me want to write about survival, so I gave Nell a chapter on that, and it ended up with her being fuzzed.

I think I've gotten an ask from pikl that's straight up nearly a year ago by now that asked what's up with my girl and I haven't finished writing. Guy who's allergic to having a concise and clear introduction to a character. Guy who refuses to actually write down each important event and instead just slushes it all in its brain every day.

Guy who obviously has an abnormal view of his own identity: so what if I just made me but 12 and put her in a white box to get isolated in and she forgot who she was. also have her be god. Then I let her roam free. I wonder what she'll do.

My desk, before and after! As much as I loved my new desk, there was still too much visual clutter that I think was contributing to me never wanting to do anything art-related. So, I got a custom mousemat and swapped out my old LIDL keyboard for something that a.) is much smaller and b.) I like looking at :] greeeeen

Turns out my graphics tablet can also be used wirelessly (somehow I never knew this despite having owned it for like 6 years at this point), so to further de-clutter, I made a little charging station under the desk using 2x £1 IKEA hook racks :0 So now I can easily grab it when I wanna use it and keep it tucked away when I don't.

i want to clarify re: hamricks bc i went back and read those posts and i think i sound a little silly. when i said one guy threatened to shoot another guy. i didnt mean one guy said "im gonna shoot you." what i mean is that the other guy said "take that fucking gun off me." like there was fully a firearm being brandished. i was not freaking out over nothing. also i found out later that apparently the guy had done this not once but AT LEAST two or more times because when my mom told an employee she turned to a different employee and went "he's back again." i don't know what could possibly possess anyone to pull a gun at a hamricks parking lot the FIRST time let alone as a REPEAT OFFENDER

Currently thinking about the time that I insisted to my parents that we go to knotts scary farm, completely underestimated the scare factor, and was scared shitless the entire time

Went to the first haunted house, hated it, didn’t go into another one until near the end of our trip and it was one of those interactive one where you get a weapon and stuff, and I got the bright idea that reciting a monologue from the play I was doing (shout out to The Passage by Robert Lawson) would help me get through it and be less scared (it did)

So shout out to the scare actors that had to deal with a 15 year old theatre kid scared out of their mind firing a toy gun at them while screaming “AT SEA ONE DAY. YOULL SEE LAND WHERE THERE IS NO LAND. AND ON THAT DAY AHAB SHALL GO TO HIS GRAVE. AND ALL, ALL SAVE ONE WILL FALL”
