CAN WE ALSO PLEASE TALK ABOUT THIS SCENE?!?!?!

IT WAS NOT A KISS SCENE BUT IT WAS AS POWERFUL AS ONE!!!

Their THE KISS scene on season 3 episode 5 (yes i remember exactly dont ask why) it was REALLY powerful because it literally showed us the development between the two characters from them trying to kill one another (mostly Rayla) to saving each other and Callum expressing it such a beautiful way by his speech with "Because she's Rayla" Playing in the background was just TO DIE FOR!!!! it was emotional, romantic, strong! It was everything! It wasnt forced it was just there in the perfect time. I can never stop praising the shows writers enough istg. Even rn im listening to that ost in the background.

I cant lie bc it was adorable seeing these two being all lovey dovey with each other by kissing and hugging etc. But when season 4 begins, their relationship is just not there anymore. Yes there are bits and pieces but they're scattered everywhere. Callum reminiscing about her and their time together gives us half of the answer. Something happened that pulled them apart but what is it?

When he was looking out in the balcony to the sky, their theme was also playing at the background but so soft and so weak that you felt Callums' pain. It was a sad track, it was a tragic track. Raylas' memories were still there but not herself. And it made him so sad that the dude said it was NOT his BIRTHDAY but the ANNIVERSARY OF RAYLAS' LEAVING!!!! THIS BOY CARES ABOUT RAYLA MORE THAN HE CARES ABOUT HIMSELF!!!

From then on the relationship starts to have a second build up. Its like strangers to friends to lovers to strangers to ??? . The only difference of this build up compared to first three seasons is that there is already an established relationship, its just broken. So in a way they start again. Going on adventures, being there for each other in case either of them needs help. Callum doesnt let his feelings for her suppress his hurt which was also caused by her but little by little it starts to heal. It starts to fix.

Here we see Rayla admit to her mistake of going after revenge and leaving the most important thing she has behind (aka Callum obv) . Her admitting this out loud is so great to hear. Because she know she made a mistake and that mistake hurt Callum and she intends to FIX that mistake. She gives him the space he needs while also staying close enough in case he would need her. Just like Soren said "sometimes you need time to work through the weird, and then it'll work out or dont. The heart do what it do or dont what it dont"

And thats exactly what happens! With time the awkwardness becomes less and less and their hearts do the job. Their feelings for each other were never gone in the first place, and when they both finally realise that it just keeps getting better. In the form of saving friends (Zym and Soren) they remember how it felt working together which helps them get closer.

But even tho they act close their words are still apart. They dont admit it. They dont talk about it. They just go along with it. But then Rayla gets caught sneaking Runaans' bow. When Callum orders them to release her even without knowing the reason why, Rayla picks up what he's putting down. He trusts her, he doesnt push her to explain him anything because he knows that she will when she is ready. She sees that there is still a chance to make things just like before maybe even better.

(Also in this scene when they're going to the grand bookery and they cross this path, she says "its an old wound that's healing" I cant help but feel like its a parallel to their relationship. The wound of leaving for two years but now finally working through it. Its just perfect)

So yep after everything she admits it, which is also perfect because she was the one that made a mistake so she does fix it and she does it right.

"Im glad we could be here together, looking at the stars..." She says.

And Callum feeling the same way rests his head on hers. ITS JUST PERFECT AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! THE WAY THAT THEY STILL KEEP TALKING ABOUT STARS AND THIS WHOLE SCENE HAVING AS MUCH POWER AS THEIR KISS SCENE AND DARE I SAY EVEN MORE (i dont know which wins bc i was jumping around screaming when they kissed after Callums' poetic speech LOL it was ROMANTIC ALRIGHT?! 😭😭😭😭 SAME GOES FOR THIS ONE)

And the thing is that it'ss so easy to mess up. They could've gone for a route like "hey im back after two years of absence" "Oh hi its great to see you again" And its not just the characters and their relationships but also the world that you're telling to the audience. It is so easy to get it wrong ESPECIALLY if you are writing Fantasy. With so many kingdoms, dragons, elves and other species with also magic its very very simple to mess up. Im glad that they went this way with the story telling. Its more natural, more enjoyable and it just works perfectly.

What Martyn take on Pearl in a short answer is Pearl isn't done with double life and needs to heal more

Or longer answer. Basically in Martyn au of the life series in between sessions the watchers feed on their negative (and positive) emotions and the life series players slowly heal, so by in the next season all the life series players just feel neutral towards eachother. The issue though is Pearl (and Cleo) needed more time to heal since double life was so traumatizing for her. This is why in limited life Lizzie subbed in for Pear so she could take much more of a break (the listeners did this not the watchers). I argue Cleo take was bad because Cleo was gone because they were traumatized for being far into the game than any other season.

first off within my worldview this all makes so much sense for martyn (the character) to believe like ah yes I have nooooo lingering feelings about my past alliances whatsoever that's how this. Works. this is how the game works. im so smart and not vulnerable and have it together don't look at me. also everyone else feels the same way so I don't have to feel weird.

It's also kinda tragic lol like pearl was hurt SO BAD during DL even the evil gods who run the game couldn't zap the trauma out of her and Martyn (one of the ppl responsible for said trauma) is like oh. well that sucks. not my problem.

on the cc side of things I've always had a massive pet peeve with this specific bit of his lore and when people take it as canon because it's. a bit nonsensical? Like you mentioned Cleo having to be taken out of the games from her soul being too damaged or whatever is just kinda dumb since she was pretty much chilling. It's obviously lore born as an excuse to explain out of game circumstances rather than to aid the story itself so it ends up feeling really weird.

This is also the very, very, whisper-level lowkey misogyny-covered Martyn take I was vaguing awhile back since it implies every female member of the series (minus Gem who wasn't in the series yet technically) were too "weak" to mentally withstand the games while all the men (minus mumbo) were just kinda vibing. This isn't me calling irl cc Martyn a misogynist FYI but I do think it reflects on a larger scope the way female CCs are not prioritized both by the fanbase and the creators which leads to stuff like this.

mainly the fact that none of them could be open or vulnerable with each other …. to be honest i havent looked at sashisu very closely before but this hit me bc. I FEEL LIKE I RELATE SM :; like. i have a best friend who i’ve known since i was a baby but we’ve never ever had a serious conversation once… maybe this is unrelated but that is so tragic because to me friendships really struggle to be strong and stable against one another if you can’t ever show the side of you that’s struggling … being vulnerable w one another is key to bonding :’3

i have some thoughts about them— mainly shoko…. to me it kinda seems like she kept them at an arms length away this entire time on purpose and she still does…. maybe i’m spitballing idk i’m just basing it off the fact that satoru and suguru called her shoko but she still referred to them by surname even ‘til where we currently r in the manga (which. i will also ignore but i cant lie the memes were so funny…) but my thinking is that she did so because. even though we never really saw her much i think that’s it since she was a reversed ct user n probably didn’t have much experience fighting… maybe. hear me out just MAYBE she knew what might become of satoru and suguru since they were so enveloped in fighting and being the strongest, and both of them were so headstrong and arrogant for lack of a better term that she might’ve just… tried to keep herself from getting attached n being hurt even more than she already might’ve been simultaneously 😞😞

that still just makes me so so sad though….. they always looked so happy when they were together… maybe if they could’ve gotten suguru to talk and really listened to him for once…. alas ;; gege is an evil thing

i feel exactly the same, i have two childhood friends who im very close to but none of us have ever been the type to really be vulnerable like that w each other and !! i absolutely think that strong connections need that, u need to be able to show even ur weaker side… n i guess the tragedy of suguru’s character is that he never felt comfortable showing his ”weak self” to shoko and satoru. T_T he will always make me cry like no other ….

BUT YES SHOKO !!! ur so valid riko. i love this woman so much n i think shes so interesting to talk abt !! ive been thinking abt the name thing too, i feel like its very telling of the sashisu dynamic; the fact that satoru and suguru ONLY (and i mean only) ever referred to each other w their given names, even after suguru’s defection… and how shoko refers to them as ”gojo” and ”geto” even though gojo still calls her shoko…,

i think its super interesting !! i rly rly wish i was able to read the og japanese manga, bc i feel like so many little language details like that get lost in translation (esp since the official jjk translation is kinda bad lol)… i wish we knew if shoko called them by their given names in high school, i want to think so but we just dont know </3

HAHA N I C E im down to talk about some bros lets go

1. its probably due to the event yes totally about the event unless you know me well then you know exactly- but albedo's probably my number one for best dude :) esp w the whole reveal that he was created by alchemy and he's existed for ~500 years now and then his general fear that like many other things created by his masters hands he might destroy the world that he loves sm I T - T that's my weak spot

2. will definitely have to put childe here! he wouldve been first because he is inevitably what dragged me to genshin in the first place with his amaaazing soundtrack. but not only that ! i just find it fun that he winds up enjoying his time in the fatui because it means more battles for him but he doesnt really listen to them otherwise :) hes just having a time lol plus his story quest about him trying to juggle between being mr bad guy and the best big brother got me sooooo good lol oh and gameplay wise? he's actually really fun to play as ! and there's so many different ways to build him and i've been experimenting w different builds for him for that reason and it just feels like a neverending project aslkdjfah

3. CAN I GO OFF ABOUT DILUC FOR A HOT SECOND? okay i mean he hasnt done much of anything beyond the prologue of the game but the manga was suuuuch an eye opener for me when it came to liking diluc ! that and...gender envy BUT THATS NOT THE POINT. his whole backstory is that he grew up with the dreams of being a knight in his father's stead but when he finally reached that dream, his father passes away and he winds up seeing the downsides of the knight the very same day. his dreams shatter in the same day and he disappears for a few years after. now, what gets me is the story of how he got his vision. he's a pyro user which centers around the idea of passion - doing something that you love. he first got it as a kid, being passionate to be a knight, but seeing as his dream got shattered, his passion too died and the light of his vision too dissipated. but in the few years he left, he found something else to love - to be passionate about and to live for: to protect the city to make up for what the knights fail to do. and i think that finding that peace, finding one's own path again and reconnecting w a dream is just so admirable !

4. kaeya !! this is sorta tied to albedo too with the whole "i carry the lore of the game in my backstory". it's also a really tragic one too, being the only human left ig of the lost kingdom of khaenri'ah and feeling stuck between his new home of mondstadt or siding with the mission he was put on for khaenri'ah's sake ; - ; i really hope we get more of him soon !

5. last but not least! venti ! honestly what i love about venti is that he's such a playful character (ofc being a bard and all) but he does have these wise moments and it makes him such a genuinely warm character to be around and i miss him deeply T - T i cried in my friends dm about his first story quest but the fact that he was once a wind sprite and adopted the look of a former friend who died in a rebellion war before he got to see the freedom he's long fought for??? it kills me sm... just the whole idea of turning into his friend so that in a way his friend could see the world too :')

The Crow (1994)

Alright Cult of Cult. Do I really need to introduce this one? Let's get all 90s and gothy and maybe brace ourselves for a bit of cringe, but like in a fun way. It's the Holy Grail of Hot Topic, 1994's the Crow Starring Brandon Lee.

Sermon

Apparently before the auto industry totally crashed Detroit was already a total fucked to death pile of burning shit, or at least that's what the crow would have you believe. Sorry Bruce Campbell, and other people from Detroit, but mostly Bruce Campbell. According to the Crow the city of Detroit is the kind of place where gangs of warlock anarchist arsonists will bomb buildings, and murder and rape whoever they feel like and then walk around bragging about it the next day with absolutely zero consequences. Funny then that if Detroit was so bad they had to go to film this movie in Wilmington North Carolina which is definitely a fucked to death pile of burning shit. I can say that, I'm from there and I got the fuck out. My brother is going to kill me if he ever reads this. (It's okay, these are all jokes people). Did you know they also filmed the Super Mario Bros movie there ... also cuz they needed a really shitty looking distopia. Moving on ...

The ludicrous criminality of the Crow's Detroit is particularly on display on Halloween. In Detroit (apparently) Halloween is known as Devils Night and it's legitimately just a night of pure lawlessness and chaos and kids aren't even safe to get candy, except later when we do see trick or treaters. Eric Draven, hunky goth rocker who sort of looks like he could be Bruce Lee's Kid and his fiance are murdered by a gang of vicious criminals. One year hence, Eric is resurrected by a mystical crow (that is actually a Raven), to exact his revenge on the gang that murdered him.

He paints his face like sad Alice Cooper and refuses to listen to Joy Division, just covers. He murders Tin Tin (a knife guy) just for his long gothy duster, he murders Fun Boy and forcibly ejects heroine from her arms and tells her "Go be a good mom now" which actually works. (have I told you about our Lord and Savior Sting? He gave me the strength to get off drugs), he blows T Bird up dick first, and then comes for Skab? Scraap? Scooby? in a meeting of all of Detroits villains and just about kills them all.

He is supported by the most 90s little girl to have ever graced the screen, and I am here for it, and Officer Albrecht, who's played by Ernie Hudson but I like to call him Zeddemore: The Most Underrated Ghostbuster. The leader of the bad guys, who I cannot beleive wasn't played by Brad Dourif or Tom Waits, is pretty interested in the occult. He keeps his witchy girlfriend around and she makes him fun dishes like smoked eyeballs, and her main use is that she knows that the Crow is the Crows weakness. They set Tony Fucking Todd on the bird, and I guess you just have to hurt the bird and not kill it, and Eric loses his healing factor and other macabre undead powers.

The Crow, Jimmy the Raven, pecks out Dr. Girlfriends eyeballs, I honestly forget how Tony Todd gets offed, and Top Dollar gets Gargoyled (that is impaled on a gargoyle). Funnily enough that is more Gargoyle related impaling on screen then in the actual movie Gargoyle: Wings of Darkness where a Gargoyle is supposed to have impaled a guy.

The Benediction

Best Feature: Injustice League

In the Crow we have not only a set of super memorable villains but they are played by the bad guy all stars. John Polito as the most lowly of the bad guys as a kind of sleazy pawn shop owner who buys ill gotten gains. Tony Todd, who's size is really on display here, the freaking Candy Man is in this movie. T Bird is the head of Top Dollars goons and is played by David Patrick Kelly, you might know as the "Warriors Come Out and Play!!" bottle guy from the Warriors, or as Jimmy Horne from Twin Peaks, and of course Top Dollar himself is played by Michael Wincott. Wincott is not a particularly celebrated actor but has played villains effectively in Robin Hood, the Three Musketeers, and Dead Man.

Best Set Piece: Detroit Style Hot Dogs

The Set design of the Crow is perhaps one of it's most fantastic features. It's very moody and ethereal. It's just real enough to not take you out of the film, but fantastic enough to set mood and theme above realism. From Eric Draven's apartment, to the church where the final battle occurs they are all fantastic. I think that's why I really wanted to shine the spot light on a very minor set piece that would get nary a mention but just as effectively represents the qualities I was just talking about and that is the Maxi Doggs Hot Dog Stand, where a lot of the films exposition for audience surrogates takes place.

Worst Effect: Freeze Frame

At a few points in the movie the film makers made a strange decision to do these freeze frame transitions. I only noticed it twice in the movie where it was particularly stupid. I'm sure the film makers at the time thought it was a moody and atmospheric choice that highlighted the suffering that Eric Draven was going through, but it didn't age well. If you don't have the sensibilities of a goth girl from 1994 then it's very very hard not to laugh at just how self involved the movie is about it's super sadness.

Worst Feature: Tragic Accident

Solely based on the film itself, it is that very gothic and dated sensibility that hurts the Crow. The little sarcastic dance he does when he flees the police, quoting Edgar Allen Poe, and bowing to Albrecht. These affected behaviors that I'm sure seemed snarky and right on to the target audience only serve to make Eric Draven seem like an unbearable neck beard edgelord and not the troubled dark soul he's supposed to be. I'm sure at the time it seemed unique and gothy but that shit went out of style for good reason, people could see through it. It's a shame that the Crow himself was some of the cringiest parts of this movie now that I'm seeing it as an adult and not a 13 year old middle class boy with no real problems.

This however is not the low point of the movie. It's not news now and if you're reading some dudes review of The Crow on Tumblr then you probably already know the story. The worst thing about The Crow is that Brandon Lee was horrifically killed on set while filming this movie due to some negligible prop malfunctions. A series of unfortunate events that lead to the actor spending 6 hours in surgery fighting for his life before eventually passing. It was not a quick or painless death and it's really impossible to watch the movie without an appreciation for the fact that this kind of fun dark adventure was going to be a vehicle for Brandon Lee's career wound up taking his life. He was 28. I really wish I could have just bitched about the goofy goth stuff and moved on, but that's not the world we live in.

Best Effect: The Gargoyling

Maybe I should have called this best kill. But I'm not sure which it is. The slaying of Top Dollar at the Climax of the film was just super effective. The pointed wings impaling his chest and that horn coming out of his mouth, it was morbid and excellent and just fit the tone of the movie perfectly. I mean how many other movies can you say Cause of Death: Impaled on a Gargoyle.

Best Bird: The Raven

I tried very hard to look up the name of the bird that primarily performed in this movie and could not find anything. There was a Raven once upon a time called Jimmy the Raven, but that was in the 50s and I don't think birds live that long. There was a team of Ravens performing as the crow, they were chosen over crows for their larger size, and more imposing silhouettes. I just think it's so wonderful to see these often maligned birds get a chance to show off their talents. Corvids of all kinds are incredibly intelligent creatures. Im a sucker for animals, if you haven't already figured that out. I really liked seeing the ravens hit their marks, particularly the one whos job it was to drop the wedding ring into Sarah's hand at the end of the film. You can see that greedy little bastard do his trick and then look of camera at his trainer like "treat please!". It's very cute.

Best Actor: Top Dollar Performance

I'd love to take this opportunity to just put praise upon Brandon Lee, he truly gave everything for this role, but unfortunately with what was put to film we actually have very few character moments with Eric Draven. Stuff happens to him, and he does killings and fights. There's definitely some personality, but I felt like I walked away knowing almost nothing about who Eric Draven was. He was clearly a good dude but that and a few hobbies and a relationship and you don't really have a character yet. He's unfortunately not given a lot of acting to do, instead just relegated to stunts and action sequences. That were notably cool.

The bad guys in the Crow have a lot more character and among this who's who of character actors, Michael Wincott takes the cake. Hell he was standing next to Candyman himself, Tony Todd and still stealing the scenes.

Best Character: A Few Good Apples

Is the best character in The Crow really going to be the cop? The commissioner Gordon stand in? yeah, it is. Not to be political, but I don't like cops, but I guess in a world with magical birds and eyeball smoking I can suspend my disbelief and let Ernie Hudson be #1 cop dad. His character is really the heart of the film, since all Eric can do is brood and fight, we have to care about someone in this movie.

Best Sequence: Halloween Party

The best sequence of the movie is of course the scene where Eric Draven busts in on the Devil's Night party planning commission. I think Top Dollar brought Scrappy Doo there just so he could lure out the crow, knowing the baddest assholes in all of Detroit would be gathered it was likely that somebody was going to kill the beast, or if they couldn't at least Top Dollar could get a feel for his enemy. It's a bullet flying action sequence with a ton of weight. I can't put my finger on this all to common weightless third act problem that big budget super hero and action flicks have nowadays, but whatever that issue is, the Crow does not have that issue. From this point on the Climax feels earned and I am invested. For that reason, The Crow is honestly better in spite of its awkwardness, than many of the super hero movies out today.

Worst Sequence: My Guitar Gently Weeps

Speaking of brooding or fighting. The best sequence was fighting, the worst is brooding. I get that Eric was in a band or something, but didn't he have shit to do. It seemed like it was a cool idea for a shot, but for like a whole seen, watching somebody play an 80s guitar solo, that stood out so brazenly from the choices of music in the rest of the movie was extra corny. It felt like someone's( dad trying to relate to their kid. Oh you like Music. The Dresden Dolls eh? Oh man, then you're going to love Slash's Snake Pit!

Summary

The Crow is dated. It is iconic but I wonder how many of the people that hang that poster on the wall have watched that movie since they were kids. It's interesting how what i've liked and disliked about this film have changed so much sense I was a kid. It's a cheeseball fiesta. If you have matured at all beyond thinking that being sad is the same as being deep then you're going to like it a little less than you did when you were younger, but it is still solid. There's not much to hate on. I'd watch it over and over again. I was really afraid it would not hold up at all, but returning to The Crow was a completely positive experience.

So I read The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson and OMG I LOVED IT SO MUCH!

SPOILERS

I loved Kel so much from the very start. Such an amazing character with tragic back story. And the way it was revealed was so awesome. Honestly I wasn't expecting him to die 😭😭😭 it was too brutal.

And I loved Vin. Her character development was so awesomely paced.

The lord Rural was just an incredible mess. He looked such a powerful villian from the start and he killed Kel as if he was nothing and then when you get to know his weakness he was actually pretty weak. AND HE WASN'T WHO HE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE. HE WASN'T THE ONE WRITING THOSE DIARY ENTRIES. And it was just a twist for me because I was so busy reading the book that I actually prediction nothing.

Well actually, I had this prediction that Vin would bertray Kell for Elend then she would get a redemption arc but Im glad I was wrong 😅😅😅

And Elend. Oh him. People seem to like him, but for me, it was hate at first sight. When he appeared first I knew that's him. He's the one Vin would end up and I didn't like it. I don't really know why. I was like "oh Vin, not him. Spook is way better" but that bitch didn't listen. It was really odd how easily she trusted Elend when she took so much time trusting Kel. She doubted Kel so much, but with Elend, even though she was told not to trust him or get attached to him she still did. And I didn't like that. I liked Elend as a character till the end but I still don't ship them. See how it goes in next book.

And that scene. The Skaa rebellion at the end. When Elend was going to die. I personally would have liked that but anyways. Kel was watching him and doing nothing AND THEN SUDDENLY HE WAS LIKE SHE LOVES HIM AND HE SAVED HIM.

OMG, KEL SAVED A NOBELMAN 😭😭😭 FOR VIN 😭😭 BECAUSE HE SEES HER AS DAUGHTER FIGURE 😭😭😭 MY HEART CAN'T HANDLE THIS 😭😭😭

I seriously don't know how am I gonna enjoy the next books without Kel but I'll try.

Can't wait to read next book.

Ok. . . but can you give an in-depth explanation as to how you feel about akeshu?

yes. 

rest is under the cut since this is going to be a long answer 

im a big big big big big fan of enemies to lovers. love it. loved the initial hate, the heightening tension between two characters with conflicting situations or personality types. i love the anger, the arguments, the sighs from everyone around them because they’re tired of the repetitive beef. during quarantine, i even wrote out and gave a verbal presentation to my beta explaining how an enemies to lovers arc would work through writing and all the needed dynamics in order to justify a person falling in love with their enemy. 

and yeah, the process is the best part of it. i want to be able to see the transition between worst enemy to begrudged partner to lover. that’s the best part!!! the character development!!! the molding around each other and learning to accept their character flaws!! the willingness to defend that flaw in front of other people!! 

but here’s where the problem lies: akechi goro. 

oh akechi. oh akechi goro, the bane of my existence and the object of affection by everyone in this god forsaken fandom. look, i get it. it’s really really fucking hard to resist the charm of akechi goro, i admit it. he’s so interesting, he’s so in-depth, he’s so cool and rugged and he’s such a bastard that you end up kind of being obsessed with him, and that’s fine. I'm also kind of obsessed with him. 

but i don't like him. because he isn’t a likeable character. there’s a huge difference between thinking he’s a fantastic character and loving him. because i don't love him. i hate him. i despise him. he’s caused so, so, so much grievance, so much pain to so many characters in persona that it honestly impossible to give him a redemption arc. it’s not possible. even if you go down the Black Star route (amazing fanfic, brilliant work) it still doesn't redeem him. he killed futabas mom (which literally led her to her spiraling depression and self hatred and manifested intense mental illness that led to her isolating herself from the world and made her lose her mom that she loves so much) and killed haru’s dad (how on earth can you justify that one??? god, haru wanted nothing more than to just see her dad happy again) and killed so many other random people!! and don’t feed me that “oh he had a sad life” shut the fuck up literally everyone in p5 had a sob story and you don't see them killing people. he’s complex, not likeable. 

but here’s the good part: the game doesn't want you to like akechi. i mean it. they never said what he did was okay (never. they never said it was okay), they never said that you had to like him. all they said was that you had to work with him. even in the third semester, the one people are so insistent on calling a redemption arc, isn’t a fucking redemption arc. they just want you to see who akechi really is!! without the facade!!! all they want is for you to see how complex he is, see him spiral and angry and bitter and they want you to see him turn out the complete opposite of akira. 

and here’s where we actually start talking about akeshu

akechi and akira are two halves of the same coin. akira chose the side of justice (by ironically being a criminal) while akechi chose the side of vengeance (which is ironic, since he’s a detective.) see, even with that whole crime vs justice thing, they’re connected. the person who ruined their life is the same person (shido), they both have had hard lives. but they turned out as opposites, with akira having a much better life than akechi--which is why akechi is so obsessed with akira. what does akira have that he doesn't? why did he turn out happy when he’s still miserable? and that creates a tension (which we will talk about later)

akechi and akira are rivals. they are connected, they always will be. it’s a hero/villain narrative that we all love, it’s an interesting character dynamic. it’s fun to see them interact. 

but by god, it does not mean that akechi and akira are good for each other. i would go as far to say it would do akechi a huge disservice as a character if you made them end up together. 

remember how akechi is a complex character? if akechi ends up with akira, you would essentially be ripping out all of his complexity just to have both of them date. akechi doesn't want to be with akira, and if you honestly think akechi is in love with akira id be surprised because he’s not--he’s obsessed with akira, infatuated with him. what he’s feeling isn’t love, it’s the feeling of frustration. he doesn't care about akira, or anyone. he cares about himself, and that’s it. which is what makes him so interesting because this never changes throughout the entire game!!! that's so FUN!!!

and the game never wants you to forget that complexity!! because they never gave akechi a redemption arc!! they want you to remember him as someone who’s willing to die for himself. (and, in a way, that’s the extent of akechis mercy. because before shidos palace, he wasn't even willing to die for himself, you know what i mean? he was willing to die in shidos palace because that’s what he wanted, he wanted to defeat shidos cognition of himself, he wanted to save the thieves because they were the first to listen to him and understand him, but he didn't really do it out of empathy. he did it because he’d rather die than continue living shidos lie--funny because that how he ‘dies’ in the third semester. nice one atlus)

and i get it. the game gives them such an undeniable tension that its super easy to see it as love, but its not. it’s not love, guys. that tension isn’t love, because what it’s actually tragedy. it’s tragic that akechi can’t have happiness (in canon, at least.) it’s tragic that akira, the person who loves his friends more than anything, who would die saving someone he doesn't even know, it’s tragic that he can’t save someone who’s the most desperate to be saved. and that is why i love platonic/non-romantic akeshu, because i think that concept is way more interesting than them falling in love. it’s about akira’s obvious trauma that he couldn’t save everyone, it’s about akechi’s hard-headedness about not wanting to be saved because he’s been let down too many times for him to ever put trust into anyone again. 

it’s tragic. it’s meant to be tragic. persona 5 is a game about fighting for reality, and reality is fucking hard. so the fact that these two people have such a tragic ending despite what we, as an audience, are used to (happy endings), is part of the game. they’re not meant for each other. they won’t work, they don't work. that tension isn't made out of love or sexual tension--it’s stemmed from tragedy and hate and confusion and such a deep rooted sadness from inside of them. 

they both deserve better than each other. akira deserves to be with the friends he made in tokyo, and akechi deserves to be with someone (if he lives) who isn’t associated with the metaverse at all. he deserves a clean slate, he deserves a fresh start. he deserves a reset. 

and another reason is that akira loves his friends too much. he would do anything for them. it’s supposed to be funny--the wildcard, with no vulnerability, no weakness, has the most weakness out of all of them because he cares too deeply about his friends that if one single thing were to hurt them akira would fold like a deck of cards. you think akira would do that to haru? to futaba? yeah, right. he would never. akira can forgive but he would never forget. he’d never compromise. not for his friends.

so going back to the topic of enemies to lovers--akeshu is not enemies to lovers, because there are certain rules for enemies to lovers. enemies should be fun. it should be people on the opposite team with different perspectives. enemies should not be morally horrific. the ‘enemy’ should be forgivable. both characters should still come off likable. they should both be able to stand up on their own legs as characters even if you take away their love interest. for example, hermione/draco wouldn't work because draco calls Hermione a slur on many occasions. that is not forgivable. if draco instead, i don't know, cheats off her test or something and she gets mad and they have a back and forth thing, then sure, hermione/draco could work. 

a fantastic enemies to lovers would be snowbaz from carry on. uh, zootopia? thats a great one. natsume and mikan from gakuen alice is good too!! basically, there’s a lot of actual good enemies to lovers out there. enemies to lovers shouldn't be morally ambiguous. it should be fun. it should be the right kind of tension. the characters should be likable from both sides. and akeshu does not have that.

Despite your lack of sleep, you had never felt more refreshed. Descending down the stairs of your home, you made your way into the parlor for breakfast. Your parents sat at either ends of the table, eating quietly, while your cousin, Jisung, and his friends were there as well. 

“Good morning fair cousin.” He smiled, taking a sip of his drink. You gave a polite smile, sitting beside him. You grabbed for a pastry as you all engaged in small conversation before the doors to the parlor were thrown open in an aggressive manner. Chan stormed in, an enraged look on his face. Chan had been friends with your cousins for some time, that you knew, but you never had met him until the previous night. You hadn't even known that same son of the Governor was the rowdy Chan you had heard stories of. 

“They really are disgusting. I can’t wait until tonight.” He huffed, taking a seat across from you. You eyed Chan carefully raising a brow. Changbin cackled from beside you, “Can’t believe the Governor's son is participating in his first brawl tonight.” 

You glanced between the boys before your father spoke up, “Now boys don’t let him get too banged up okay? We need him looking nice for the wedding photos.” 

Your heart plummeted. 

“W-wedding photos?” You whispered, your eyes flitting from Chan's serious gaze to your father's unbothered one. 

“Yes Y/n wedding photos. Didn't your mother tell you?”

“I tried my dear, but I couldn’t find her during the party again.” Your mother responded, taking a sip of her coffee. 

You stood up, pushing your chair back with a loud screech. “Tell. Me. What?” You hissed through clenched teeth, your gaze permanently locked onto Chans unwavering gaze.

“We're getting married Y/n. It was decided last night. Your parents accepted my proposal.” Chan stated before turning his attention to his breakfast. 

“And you didn't think to let me know, Chan?” Your voice was laced with venom despite it’s polite tone. Chan shrugged, “You seemed pretty shook up after your encounter with that Montague scum, so I didn’t want to bother you. I thought it’d be a nice surprise.” His gaze challenged yours, “Are you not happy, Y/n?”

Ice shot through your veins. He knew. He had to know about you and Hyunjin. 

“I am happy. Just surprised. I did not expect to be engaged this morning.” 

Your mother gleefully clapped as she looked at you both, “Ah young love! Chan is even fighting tonight for your honor Y/n, why, after he told us a Montague had the gall to impose himself on you, Chan took it upon himself to challenge those ruffians. How romantic.” She mused. 

Your breathing grew shallow, he was going to fight the Montagues? That means, he would be fighting Hyunjin. To the death if need be.

Jisung nodded alongside you, “Don’t worry cousin, we have never lost a fight. We promise your lover won’t get too scratched up before your big day.” Their laughs grew into ringing in your ears as you stared down at your half eaten breakfast. 

Did Hyunjin know?

How could I tell him?

“Excuse me…” You mumbled, leaving the parlor. You could hear your mother conversing with Chan and the others and it took everything in your power not to vomit on the floor. Tonight he will fight Hyunjin. Chan may die. Hyunjin may die.

And there was nothing you could do to stop it. 

 Hyunjin nodded as he listened to Seungmin discuss the plan for tonight. As it turned out, Felix had a run-in with Jisung, Changbin, Lee Know, and Chan when he left the Capulet property. 

“They hassled me. But it was obvious I wasn’t the one they wanted.” Felix’s eyes flicked up to Hyunjins. The guilt started to gnaw at Hyunjin. His friends were in danger, because he was being foolish. “Chan wants you dead, Hyunjin. He wants you dead so Y/n can be his.” The guilt was slowly being consumed by raw anger. Chan knew Y/n would never love him as long as he was still around. 

“I want you guys to be smart. I want you to be safe. This fight is about Chan and I.” Hyunjin stated seriously. Of course, fights like this weren’t uncommon, him and his boys had participated in many. But this time, it was different. Hyunjin glanced between his friends. Felix had always been by his side, his best friend. Seungmin was a gentle person, dragged into this life due to his family, and I.N...I.N was so young it pained Hyunjin to think about what could happen. 

“I would never dream of fighting alongside another. You guys are my family.” Hyunjin added. 

“We leave at dusk.”

 Night arrived quickly, and in a vacant lot in an abandoned part of Verona, two rivals met apprehensively. The Capulets arrived on site first, their cars growling in the night air and the headbeams providing artificial light. Chan glanced around nervously, the gun on his hip seemed to weigh him down more than the earth itself. His ears perked at the sound of engines roaring closer to the lost and his pulse spiked as the motorcycles of Montague approached. They were evenly matched. The nervousness Chan felt washed away as he spotted him. Hyunjin stepped off his bike, a cocky smile on his face, and Chan remembered why they were here in the first place. 

“Montague.” Chan spat, taking a pace towards the center of the lot. Hyunjin smiled and ran a hand through his hair, “Was all this really necessary? Why, you're not even a Capulet Christopher, why are you here daddy’s boy?” Chan’s anger flared at the comments. 

“I am here to tell you I am marrying Y/n.”

Hyunjins grin dropped. His eyes narrowed in a fierce stare. “Your what?”

Chan felt a hint of joy as he added, “Once you are out of the picture, I will marry Y/n Capulet. She will take my last name and be mine.” He paused, “All mine.”

Hyunjin growled at the comments, his hand itching to reach for the gun on his hip. He knew it was a set up, Chan wanted him to react out of anger. Hyunjin was smarter than this. 

“She will never love you. Whether I am here or not.”

Chan’s eye twitched at the comments and Hyunjin grinned knowing he hit a nerve.

“Y/n loves me. Man, if only you had been quicker, I’m pretty sure her first kiss was in that elevator with me.” Hyunjin mused, enjoying the visible frustration on Chan’s face. “The way she looked as I kissed her neck, as she begged me for more. Does it make you angry, Channie, that she will never do that for you?” Chan’s nostrils flared, “Shut up Montague!” He spat but Hyunjins grin grew wider. “It makes you mad knowing I was there with her, that she only wants me. Because let’s be honest Chan, your nothing without your father-” Chan finally reached his breaking point. He reached for the gun on his hip clumsily as he aimed it towards Hyunjin and shot.

Hyunjin grinned. His aim was off. The bullet whizzed by Hyunjin, and he shook his head. 

“Now now Chan, you couldn’t have expected to actually hit me-”

“FELIX!”

Hyunjins blood turned cold. That was I.N’s voice. Slowly, Hyunjin turned around. Indeed the bullet missed Hyunjin by a long shot. But somehow, by a horrifying stroke of luck, the bullet found its way through the stomach of Hyunjins best friend who stood only a few feet behind him.

“‘LIX!” Hyunjin cried out as Felix crumpled to the floor. I.N quickly tried to support his head but Hyunjin pushed him away, cradling Felix in his arms. Felix’s eyes blinked rapidly as he struggled to form words, Hyunjin shushing him. 

“Felix shut up, save your energy, you're going to be okay!” Hyunjin sobbed, his hands applying harsh pressure to the wound to stop the bleeding. Hyunjins fat tears fell onto Felix’s face as he watched his best friend slip through his fingers. 

“Hyun..jin..” Felix croaked out, wincing as more blood gushed from his wound.

“Felix please stop-Seungmin! We need an ambulance!” Hyunjin cried out but no one moved. Everyone knew, even Hyunjin, there was no help for them now. Felix raised a shaky hand to Hyunjin’s cheek, his palm cold with sweat. 

“I’m s-sorry…’Jin” Felix sobbed, “I-I’m scared..” Hyunjin’s sobbed as he shook his head, holding Felix closer, “You did e-everything just right, don’t be scared ‘Lix...you're my best friend.” Felix gave a small smile at this, his eyes starting to focus past Hyunjin. Felix grew quiet, and soon his eyes no longer moved. His chest stopped breathing, and under the starless sky, Hyunjins best friend lay lifeless in his arms.

Hyunjins eyes were tinged with red, his voice raw from the cry’s he let out. Chan stood there shakily, his gun still aimed at the group. He looked nervously back at Jisung who stared with wide eyes at the scene. 

“Jisung what-what do I do? I killed him Jisung!” Chan cried nervously, dropping the gun to the ground. 

Hyunjin swung his head towards Chan, the anger in his eyes blazing. 

“You…” He snarled, grabbing his gun and stalking towards Chan. Chan quickly tried to move away but Hyunjin caught a fistfull of his shirt and in a fluid motion, Hyunjin swung the gun against his face. There was a sickening thud as Chan fell to the ground, blood pouring from his face. Jisung reacted quickly as well, racing to confront Hyunjin when he was intercepted by I.N who swung rapidly, his eyes cloudy with tears. Changbin and Minho were met by Seungmin who shot rapidly. The chaos had begun.

Hyunjin swung his fists harshly into Chan, he wanted him to suffer. He wanted him to feel his pain. 

“You killed him!” he spat, Chan so weak he couldn't even fight back. 

Dirt was swept up in the scuffle and Hyunjins ears recognized the distinct sound of cop cars. 

“They’re coming!” He roared, leaving a ragged Chan on the ground, giving him one last swift kick to the stomach. Hyunjin leaned in close to Chan, “I am not going to kill you. I want you to live with this guilt forever. You killed someone. Y/n will never want you now.” And with that, Hyunjin whistled for I.N and Seungmin to return to their bikes quickly. They all looked worse for wear. Starting up their bikes, they had no choice but to leave the scene behind, including Felix. It made Hyunjins heart break but there was no way Chan would admit to murder and they had no way of transporting him back. This was the life of rival houses. They all knew what life they would lead. With a prayer to whoever heard him, Hyunjin said his final farewell to his best friend, and disappeared into the night.

 You were too nervous to sleep. You paced your room back and forth with Irene watching you helplessly. 

“They will be fine Y/n…” Irene said in her soothing voice, but you shook your head, continually looking out past your balcony.

“Something bad is going to happen, I know it Irene.”

Granted, you did not want to marry Chan, but you did not want him murdered either. As for Hyunjin...you shook your head. You couldn't even fathom if anything would’ve happened to Hyunjin. The moon was high in the sky and it was well into the early hours of midnight yet still you waited. For anything. When the anxiety grew too great, you were startled by a loud groan from your balcony. You and Irene both rushed over, your eyes widening as a figure climbed up and over the balcony rail. The figure collapsed to the ground and took deep ragged breaths as you fell to your knees scooping the beaten Hyunjin into your arms. You couldn’t help the tears that poured out of your eyes. 

“H-hyunjin!” You cried, your hands roaming over his face and body checking for wounds. He was covered in blood, enough so even your hand was stained. His eyes were shut as he seemed to be breathing a little more stable, and soon his eyes opened enough so he could see your concerned face over his. 

“Y/n…” He whispered, his trembling hand reaching up to your face. He couldn't help the tears that poured from his eyes, both from sadness and relief. Your tears fell onto his own face as you held his hand against your cheek.

“He killed him Y/n...Chan killed Felix.”

Your breathing stopped as you registered his words. You couldn't believe it. 

“I’m so sorry Hyunjin.” You said softly, cradling his head gently to your chest. You felt his tears fall onto your skin as he began to cry, his arms wrapping around you in a tight hug. Irene still stood in the doorway, watching carefully. 

“Irene please help me move him to my bed.” You asked, helping Hyunjin stand to his feet. Irene moved beside Hyunjin as well, holding him up as you two slowly made your way to your large bed. Hyunjin clumsily sat on the bed as you instructed him to lie down.

“I’ll get your bed dirty..” He mumbled but you shook your head.

“Hyunjin I really don’t give a shit, lie down.” 

He did as he was told, relishing in the soft surface below him.

Irene brought you a medical kit as you began to examine his body but Hyunjin shook his head.

“S’not my blood…” He whispered as you nodded. You sat beside him in silence for a while, allowing him to get even a little bit of rest. Irene quietly left the room, keeping watch for anyone who may enter your room. 

You stroked Hyunjins hair gently as you hummed little songs in the air. Eventually his eyes fluttered open and rested on you beside him, a smile gracing his face.

“This is what it would be like if we were married.” He mused, causing a blush to spread across your face. 

“If we were married I wouldn't allow you to get hurt like this anymore.” You said sternly, weaseling your way into his arms. Hyunjin grinned looking up at you, “Anything for you my love.”  

You propped yourself up above him, gazing down at his face. He had a small cut on his cheek and lip, and his hair was tousled into a massive birds nest, but he had never looked so handsome. You couldn't help yourself as you leaned down gently, placing your lips against his lightly, to not hurt his cuts. Hyunjin sighed into the kiss, his hand cupping your cheeks and holding you close. You pulled away from him, need, igniting his gaze as he watched you. You sat back on the bed as he propped himself up on his forearms. You shyly reached for the hem of your sleeping dress before pulling it up and over your head, sitting before Hyunjin in your white undergarments. Hyunjins eyes widened as he scrambled to grab your hands.

“Y/n you don’t need to do this if you don’t want to!” He said breathlessly, his thumb stroking your hands. You shook your head, your hair cascading down your shoulders. 

“I want to be with you, Hyunjin. Like this. Tonight.” you admitted breathlessly. Your gaze traveled up his shirt to his face and met his eyes. 

“I love you.” 

You watched his eyes widened and gloss over, a smile breaking his serious face. He leaned into you gently, his lips meeting yours in a soft kiss. His hand shakily met your bare waist as you shivered at his cold touch.

“Sorry…” he mumbled against your lips and you smiled. His other hand held your face as he travelled down to your neck, leaving hot kisses along your collarbone. You moaned out breathlessly as he sucked harshly against your skin, nipping at the blossoming bruises. His tongue soothed the pain away with gentle licks. 

“Hyunjin..” you whispered needily as he chuckled against your skin.

“I want to make this as perfect as it can be.” He admitted softly, pulling back to gaze at you. 

Mustering up your courage, you pushed him back onto the pillows, swinging your leg over his hips. You suppressed a moan at the friction against him but you pushed the thought away. 

“I want to show you how much I love you.” You smiled softly, watching his eyes widen at your words. 

Leaning down, you began to leave soft kisses along his jaw, your hands perched on his chest. He tilted his head to give you more access as he closed his eyes in content. Your kisses traveled down to his chest and the exposed skin there. With shaky fingers, you began to unbutton his shirt, but grew frustrated as you grew more nervous. Hyunjin let out a small laugh as his hands grabbed yours. 

“Let me help.” he whispered, his hands controlling your own as he began to unbutton his shirt. Shrugging off the fabric, he tossed it across the room and laid back down, smirking as your eyes traveled down his body. 

“You’re…” you muttered breathlessly.

“Handsome? Sexy? Charmingly devilish?-”

“Beautiful.”

Hyunjin shut his lips tightly, turning his head to hide the blush dusting his cheeks. 

“You're so beautiful Hyunjin.” You cooed, your fingers tracing gently down his chest. You leaned down, your lips travelling down his body. His breathing grew heavier and heavier as you made your way closer to his hips. Your hand quickly undid his button as you tugged, signaling for him to raise his hips. He obliged quickly, allowing you to tug off his pants and leave him in his tented boxers. 

The pit in your stomach grew larger with want as you looked at him, utterly lost in his lust for you. Knowing that this man who lay beneath you, wanted you like this, well, it did a number on your confidence. With a smirk you crawled back up his chest, allowing yourself some slight friction against him ,causing him to groan. His hand held your hips tightly as he held you against him, causing you to gasp as he jerked up against you. 

“Y/n…” he moaned breathlessly, his eyes watching yours. The contact was intense, and embarrassing to be honest. You quickly tried to turn your head away, but his hand directed your chin back to his face.

“This is what you do to me, Y/n. This is how you make me feel.” He muttered huskily. His hand gripped your ass tightly as he ground you harder against him, causing you to cry out. His hand left your face and skillfully traveled to you back, unlatching your bra. The sensation caused you to quickly try and cover yourself, but his hand grasped yours softly.

“Princess…” he said softly.

You glanced away, before allowing yourself to shrug the material off, your bare chest exposed to the cold air pouring in from your balcony. Hyunjin gave you a smile as his hand traveled to your chest, rubbing you softly.

“So beautiful…” He mused with a grin. You laughed a bit, biting your lip. Gently, Hyunjin sat up, wrapping you in his arms and holding you close. The heat between you two warmed you up quickly as he pulled back, his forehead resting against yours. 

“If you don’t want this you should tell me now...I don’t think I can control myself much longer.” He whispered as you nodded, looking up through your lashes. 

“I want you.” 

Quickly, he flipped you both over, his leg in between yours as his hands held you down. You gasped as his leg nudged you to open wider, and he took the opportunity to kiss you more passionately. Your body arched into his, craving his touches as you two tumbled between the sheets. He quickly grabbed your thin bed sheet and brought it over you both, laughing like a young boy. Seeing him so happy, made your heart ache and caused your eyes to well up. Hyunjin leaned down, kissing away your tears.

“I love you, Y/n.” He whispered, the sheet trapping all the noise with you two. You sniffled and smiled, “I love you too.”

He was gentle, patient when you winced as he entered you. He placed loving kisses on your face to distract you, whispering words of endearment. Soon you gave him a nod to let him know you were okay. You didn’t want to think about if Hyunjin had done this before, because all that mattered, was that he would be your last first time. You moaned alongside him as his thrusts sped up, the sensation of euphoria creeping up on you.

He panted your name. Over and over again like a prayer. You called his name too, his forehead resting against yours. It was almost all too much, his thrusts became more sporadic as you reached your high as well, causing you to become breathless. Hyunjin groaned as he reached his as well, falling onto your chest breathlessly.

You smiled, your hands rubbing his back as he watched you. 

“How are you my soul?” He whispered.

“Perfectly happy.” You admitted truthfully, earning a laugh from him. He leaned up to kiss you once more, settling beside you to wrap his arms around you. You buried your head in his chest, relishing in his presence. You knew, this happiness would not last, but you took every second the rest of the night to simply be in the presence of Hyunjin. Soon you both fell asleep soundly, wrapped in one another's embrace.

Only the moon knew of your secret as it descended from the night sky, basking in the few kisses it receives from its own lover, as the sun returns to it’s place in the sky, bringing about another day of tragic reality.

Shibusawa is definitely the type to make a deal with the devil, as you said- Or the dragon, as the case may be- And Chuuya would probably have to willpower to combat a literal god of destruction. TO BE FAIR, at least at first, the most experience Atsushi would have with flirting would probably come from books, so like? He could be a bit oblivious, god knows he hasn’t realized any of the canon crushes people have on him. Either way, poor Dazai being unable to catch a break between Atsushi’s natural density and self worth issues and his own past tendency to flirt is. SO fucking funny, and I bet poor Kunikida gets calls at midnight from Dazai complaining about it. (Nyanon, 3/5)

Would survive in the aftermath of one of the biggest events in the timeline. It’s called the Tragedy for short, but it’s fill title is the “Biggest, Most Awful, Most Tragic Event in Human History.” Basically, the world goes terrible because an unparalleled genius is bored and gets another unparalleled genius, who is also bored, to help her end the world, because it’s apparently possible to get high on bad feelings here??? shibusawa being greed and gluttony work ! and so does chuuya’s. fukuzawa and mori should definitely be bedruging allies, i think why mori takes the more “bad” side to deal with ability users is because he was pretty harshly treated by his own parents and he believes that kept him in line (kinda like how some people who got abused by their parents say it was for their own good cause it made them into a respectful person while others will be like No What The Fuck)

i read a fanfic once that said something among the lines of atsushi not believing the romantic stuff happening in the books he reads would ever happen to him, which is why hes oblivious and that is sO SAD but dazai is Determined to somehow get his message across until kunikida flips and asks atsushi out FOR dazai.

GO ARA Korean dramas fan review

caution: i am a hideous writer, its a clumsy English so please do understand in your own way

I spend almost a 2 weeks to know her better, from March 23 up to now Tuesday April 16. Why? 

I saw her on Facebook, in a video link shared by another fan. It was a scene from “Miss Hammurabi”  where Judge Im Bareum met his first love after 10 years. Guess who? *spoiler haha

I thought back then “she’s beautiful” but i didn't care because another thought said “if you continue to be curious about Korean dramas again you will loose your mind AGAIN” and so i did.

Yes I did. I did listen to my second thought.

I ignored “Miss Hammurabi” but my mind controlled my hand, get a pen and write in memo pad to remind myself to watch this TV series no matter how long it takes. 

Months and months came but i didn't get the opportunity to see this show until i was cleaning my stuff and that reminder was on my garbage. I almost throw that small paper and read it. It was still written there. ( #dramatic)

I need to convince myself to watch this drama so i made a few research about Ms. Ara. She looks different when she was young. I was wondering if she had a plastic surgery? Her transformation was really good.

I don’t know where to start after i saw all the info about her. It seems all dramas are interesting. The truth is my eyes focus only on her hazel eyes. How beautiful that face of her with those two window of the soul. 

I realized “why not begin with Miss Hammurabi?” (2018)

a selkie whose skin gets stolen and hidden from a human man is forced to become his bride and taken back to his village. there, to escape the stares of bigoted villagers and the clutches of her overbearing and possessive husband, she takes refuge in the only place he would not go; the old holy church.

only, she finds she isn’t the first to occupy this place of solitude. the master of the church notices her soon enough, and when vampire recognises the ancient weave of magic that flows within her, he appears; intrigued for something other than a fresh meal.

(basically a deviation from the standard vampire (romance-ish) novels lolol plot bunny hit me pre-Christmas eve dinner/yesterday and sofar im digging it. still planning the ship and fandom though; it might very easily be OC-based)

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons thatyou will die defending?

Not really. I’m a very flexible person when it comes tointerpretable lore and content, especially if it’s the type of HCs that thefandom collectively comes up with. Unless it’s a canon fact, I like to dabble orjust stay away from HCs in general. If I have to come up with some in my fics,then so be it. But most of the time these HCs are either super vague or onlyapply to the context in this particular piece or series of writing. Basically Idon’t mind switching HCs for charas frequently as long as it does notfundamentally change their own character. (HCs for hobbies and loves and habitsand relationships apart from their inner circle, etc. are all fine)

Honestly it just boils down to expectations lol I know myown limits, and I know not to be disappointed when canon updates end updebunking (popular) fandom HCs or my own.
