Since my love for collecting LPS didn't go away, here's my interpretation of one of my figures. I wrote her a bit of lore again.
OG pet and lore is below
Tumblr media
LPS in question.
So Pies w Srebrze [Dog in Silver] was known once as frightening hound that used to be a great hunter. Sneak and strike. One day she got cursed by... whatever. Now she's doomed to walk on earth in silver bells all over her body, so that she'll never be able to move without a sound. Never be able to hunt again. And the sound of the bells drove her crazy [those little star-flowers inside ears]. One day when she and her lover [crocodile #1464] took oportunity and decided to join Ogar [labladore #1701] in fight again storm dragon [sea horse #1314] as that creature was the one of beings to be able destroy the bells. And... so it happened. Hound was free, but with one curse removed, she doomed Ogar to be blamed for that.
It's 23, I'm sleepy, maybe it makes sense.

Zoomies
Schroedinger…What did you do?!?, Jacquelyn Block This morning I didn’t have something specific in mind to work on during our Zoom with June. As I was logging on, my cat was playing with a piece of cardboard he no doubt tore from an Amazon box in the recycling pile. The random thought popped into my head- what if Schrödinger’s cat escaped the box. So that’s what I tried to capture in this…

Flying over Battersea
Tumblr media
Battersea Power Station - London
Battersea Power Station is a decommissioned coal-fired power station located on the south bank of the River Thames in Nine Elms, Battersea in the London Borough of Wandsworth. It was built by the London Power Company (LPC) to the design of Leonard Pearce, Engineer in Chief to the LPC, and CS Allott & Son Engineers. The architects were J. Theo Halliday and Giles Gilbert Scott. The station is one of the world's largest brick buildings and notable for its original, Art Deco interior fittings and decor.
The building comprises two power stations, built in two stages, in a single building. Battersea A Power Station was built between 1929 and 1935 and Battersea B Power Station, to its east, between 1937 and 1941, when construction was paused owing to the worsening effects of the Second World War. The building was completed in 1955. "Battersea B" was built to a design nearly identical to that of "Battersea A", creating the iconic four-chimney structure.
"Battersea A" was decommissioned in 1975. In 1980 the whole structure was given Grade II listed status; "Battersea B" shut three years later. In 2007 its listed status was upgraded to Grade II*. The building remained empty until 2014, during which time it fell into near ruin. Various plans were made to make use of the building, but none were successful.
In 2012, administrators Ernst & Young entered into an agreement with Malaysia's S P Setia and Sime Darby to develop the site to include residential, bars, restaurants, office space (occupied by Apple and others), shops and entertainment spaces. The plans were approved and redevelopment commenced a few years later. The main Power Station building was opened to the public in October 2022.

Hey, y’all! I wanted to give an update on Papyrus in Practice and other related stuff.
“It’s been about a year, where’s the next page!?”
Wow, when I saw it’s actually been a year, I kind of blanched a bit. I didn’t mean for the hiatus to last that long. Next page is actually done. In fact, a couple of pages are either done or close to done. I’m trying to build up a big buffer so that, hopefully, there will be a smaller gap between updates in the future. My plan is to have eight pages completed, line art for four pages done, have the script for the next scene done, and have a couple of pages worth of sketches ready. As I’m typing this, six of the eight next pages are done with the remaining ones in various stages of completion and two of the four next pages have finished line art. I’ve been working and reworking and re-reworking the script for the final scene for the past twenty months and honestly frustrated in how to wrap up the chapter in a satisfying way that won’t make me stuck on chapter 4 for another two years because the climax and conclusion is so long. So, that’s where I’m at now.
“I wrote something in the ask blog and didn’t get a response.”
I read every comment and every ask sent to me and, most likely, have at least attempted to write a script to answer it. But, I gotta weigh my options. Do I answer it at risk of delaying Papyrus in Practice for another month or focus on the comic? Depending on how elaborate the answer is, it might take a while to make a response. There are also things I just don’t know how to answer to and, believe me, I’ve tried coming up with a good answer, but I’m also still learning about life myself and I’ve found that, sometimes, my answer to a question has changed a lot over time. Sometimes, I’m afraid of saying something that’s ultimately harmful. It’s a tricky balance. At the end of the day, I've never guaranteed a response to any ask and never will guarantee a response. There are still some asks that I'd like to get around to, maybe if chapter 4 finishes or I get burnt out while making it and need a change of pace.
“Are you actually a therapist?”
Yup. I just graduated this past May with a masters in art therapy counseling. My title right now is a qualified mental health professional or QMHP. I’m waiting to take the National Counselor’s Exam to obtain my LPC but government paperwork is a looooong process(seriously, some of my colleagues have been waiting in the queue for over a year to get their LCPC). In the meantime, I can still practice as a therapist as long as I check in with a supervisor and have been practicing and slowly building my caseload for the past couple of months.
“Can you be my therapist/give therapy to this person?”
The short answer is no. The long answer is that there are a lot of ethical concerns when it comes to providing mental healthcare and breaching ethical guidelines could impede therapy progress, bring potential harm to the client, myself, or I could get in big legal trouble. I can also only practice if the client is located in my home state and goes through the company I work for since I need supervision to practice. However, I’d be happy to provide resources like websites that help you find a therapist, even for a reduced price, or self-help sites that can help you learn skills and develop tools to use that can boost your mental well-being. I cannot, however, provide mental health services.
“Will (insert character’s name) meet with Papyrus?”
Maybe. I’ve got ideas for characters in mind, but it’s more a question of how much longer I want to be doing this for. I’ll be honest with y’all, I’m getting burnt out. I want to do different projects or even revisit older projects, but I tell myself I can’t do that until I finish Papyrus in Practice or, at the very least, finish chapter 4. I didn’t think this chapter would go on for as long as it has, but it also makes sense. We’ve already hit page 25 which is almost as long as the entirety of chapter 3 and I don’t even know if we’re halfway done with the chapter yet. The way it’s looking, chapter 4 may easily hit at least 50 pages.
“So, when will you be posting again?”
Soon! Hopefully, before the end of the year. When I start updating again, I’ll be posting one page every other week which gives at least a few months of content for y’all.
That being said, I’ll see you soon!

My name is Kaitlynn Elette and I am a self taught artist of almost 20 years and a published author of a children’s book series called The Adventures of the Cow Bayou Boys that can be found on Amazon. Recently, I have also finally opened my own studio in my hometown Buna, Texas and I am in college to get my LPC in clinical therapy as well as get certification to be an Art Therapist along with that and work with children of abuse, autism, and veterans with PTSD. When it comes to my art, I have made it a point to be a master of all the mediums when it comes to 2D art. So I work with acrylic, oil, pencil, pastels, and watercolor. As far as a genre, I do not really have one. My passion is telling stories so that is what I do in whatever form that may come. I really enjoy playing with symbolism. I hope you enjoy my art and if you have any questions feel free to ask ❤️ also I am always taking commissions🥰

Idk if this is something you feel able to give advice on, but Seeing Wolves Where there are No Wolves is a big comfort to bc I know I too need help & its good to know that it's out there, but I don't know how to start. Like how the hell do you choose a therapist?! I google and still dont get the difference between lpc vs psyd, let alone what questions to ask or how to tell if they're a good fit. Feel free to say pass, but if you have tips I would so greatly appreciate it. thanks and sending love
hello, anon!
im actually able to help with this! im good at finding counselors! (and dentists!)
so, there are a couple of ways to go about this, but the truth of the matter is that if you've never been to therapy, or you're new to an area and are searching for a counselor, you may have to shop around a bit before you find the right fit. This can be emotionally taxing, so seeking out the right one will take some refining.
Acronyms To Know:
MSW: Master of Social Work
M.Ed: Master of Education / M.S.Ed: Master of Science in Education
M.S or M.A: Master of Science and Master of Arts, respectively.
LPC: Licensed Professional Counselor
LMHC: Licensed Mental Health Counselor
LCPC: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
LPCC / LCMHC: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor of Mental Health / Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
LMHP: Licensed Mental Health Practitioner
MFCC: Marriage, Family and Child Counselor
LCSW: Licensed Clinical Social Worker
DR is someone with a doctorate while MD is for Medical Doctor, and a Ph.D is someone with their doctorate of Philosophy - and all of these are people that are capable of obtaining certifications and licenses in a variety of counseling types, what it means to you is how much time this person has spent in school. In my experience, how much time a person has spent in school is not super indicative of how helpful they are, and it's much more informative to find out how many years they have spent in the field, and what their listed specialties are.
If you've been to counseling before, you may already be aware of what modes of therapy work best for you (Talk Therapy, DBT, CBT, EMDR, etc), but if you found Seeing Wolves to be comforting and that is the kind of therapy you're looking for, you will want to seek out a counselor that specializes in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectic Behavioral Therapy) and/or Trauma Focused Therapy.
I highly recommend seeing counselors that have at least 5 years in the field, and in particular, at least 5 years of training or experience in dealing with trauma focused therapy. You may see counselors listing years of experience in rehabilitation centers with people who have substance abuse disorders, or working with veterans in VA hospitals and such - these are good indicators that they are aware of, and well practiced in trauma-informed approaches of therapy, even if they aren't specifically licensed or advertised as that.
Remember that your initial meeting with a new counselor is about you sussing THEM out, to see if they're a good fit. It's okay if you don't click right away, or if the vibes are off and you're like 'hmm :T i think im gonna keep looking.'
When picking a counselor, read their bios and work histories - determine if their field work feels relevant to the skills you want in a counselor, and look out for red flags, like 'faith-based approaches' as this can either be PRECISELY what you're looking for, OR it can be extremely limiting and unhelpful if the faith they're basing their practice on is only one, specific faith that does not align with yours.
That's all the advice I can really give on this without knowing what you're specifically struggling with. If you feel comfortable divulging more to me, I can help you narrow down your search more, but I hope this is helpful!!

I can’t believe they’d waste my time like that...awful, ridiculous...
Tumblr media
I should’ve booted them all out when I had a chance...
???: But you didn’t.
Tumblr media
Again!? Who else is-!
Tumblr media
Evening, Emina-chan~!
Tumblr media
And what do you want?
Tumblr media
Well that’s not a very nice way to greet people.
Tumblr media
And what reason do I have to be nice to you?
Tumblr media
Finally being honest with me, huh? Seems your true personality comes out when there aren’t any journalists around.
Tumblr media
If this is part of some bid to get me to confess to something that happened 30 years ago, it’s meaningless.
Tumblr media
And what would you know about honesty or personality anyway, Ouma-san? You’re just an ex-model.
Tumblr media
Ouma-sensei.
Tumblr media
What?
Tumblr media
You might look down on me for how I treated you and the others in our class, and that much is fair. But while you were scamming people with counterfeit art, I went to university.
Tumblr media
Did I tell you I have two Master’s Degrees? I’m Ouma Kasumi, PhD, LPC, and that officially makes me Ouma-Sensei, thank you very much.
Tumblr media
As if a few pieces of paper are going to make you anything more than what you are.
Tumblr media
Like the one you have from the Steering Committee?
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
Let’s think about this, shall we?
Tumblr media
You strike me as an overachiever, someone who was pressured to succeed in life above all else. You came from an average background, and you seem ashamed of that.
Tumblr media
Do you even still talk to your parents?
Tumblr media
That’s none of your business. Why are you even here?
Tumblr media
People know your crimes, and some of us are willing to give you an easier out. But you keep going. You really think nothing can touch you, don’t you?
Tumblr media
I think you all need better hobbies than harassing successful artists out of jealousy.
Tumblr media
Jealousy? You think that’s what this is all about? Most of the people here are doing just fine on their own. More than that, they’re successful!
Tumblr media
Yes, but I’m different. I wasn’t from a privileged background.
Tumblr media
Why is it that none of you will acknowledge that fact? I rose from nothing, I clawed my way to the top, I made sacrifices, and my work gathers full crowds whenever there’s an exhibit. Who cares if I broke a few lousy rules to do it?! If I didn’t, someone else would’ve!
Tumblr media
...You really believe that, don’t you?
Tumblr media
I’m a winner, Ouma-san. It comes with the territory. You think I liked being in this position? Of course not. But it’s what was demanded of me, and so I accepted it and proved myself.
Tumblr media
Now, I am a Nijiue. I’m one of the best artists of all time, and the mother of three of the greatest artists in all of Japan.
Tumblr media
Could you or anyone else have done it and made it this far? Would you have kept going? Success is their metric, and victory is all they care about.
Tumblr media
None of you would understand how much I’ve had to sacrifice to be where I am. None of you care to understand.
Tumblr media
Wow...that’s rough, buddy.
Tumblr media
Sounds like you’ve really put a lot of work into making it all the way to the top, huh?
Tumblr media
More than anyone else in that god-forsaken class.
Tumblr media
You plan on staying up there for a while?
Tumblr media
As long as I possibly can, no matter what it takes.
Tumblr media
Well, if that’s how you feel, I guess I can’t talk you out of it.
Tumblr media
Just one piece of advice, Emina-san: you should be careful when you’re standing at the top. After all, if something knocks you off, remember...
Tumblr media
It’s a long way down.
Tumblr media
!!!
*Emina runs into her room and slams the door shut*
Tumblr media
Nishishishi...
*Kasumi heads off, laughing*
