Note
1: thanks for clearing up that you're not the creator of the legacy league.
2: check out this little idea of mine: "taking under their wing" basically the team (from young justice, and I'm going to be specific, from season 1) see the potential of (new) young Justice despite them being kids or barely teenagers (meaning they are either somewhere between 10 or 13) so the team decide to give (new) young Justice a few lessons here and there. What do you see who doing what with who?
1: you’re welcome lol
I’m the creator of Young Titans and (new) Young Justice, of Earth-66
Feel free to stick around and ask questions about anything and follow me too :) if ya want
2: that’s a pretty good idea lol
I say:
Conner: Jon (flight and heat vision training)
Dick: Damian (martial arts training)
Kaldur: Arthur curry jr ( water attacks and maybe teaching art lighting attacks too)
Artemis: Connor lance queen ( bow and arrow stuff)
Miss Martian: hunter and Hector ( I say fighting techniques lol)
Let me know if you got more @we-cross-universe-king-relate

Anything to say on Aquaman ? Especially nowadays after the clumsy Kaldh'ur push killed the franchise and left Arthur without a series ?
Highest grossing DC movie ever and DC managed to completely kill the franchise.
Tumblr media
Hasn't had a book in years, and we don't know when if ever he'll get another one. No DCU Aquaman rumors, his animated miniseries got removed from MAX presumably for a tax write-off, and there's seemingly nothing in the works for him any time soon. Not since the GL movie bombed at the box office have I seen a franchise fall off as suddenly as Aquaman has. He should be an easy character to sell, a warrior-king married to a waterbending assassin-queen, with 71% of the Earth to cover all by himself. Arthur is an extremely flexible character who is suited to a wide range of stories. He can be a wild Conan esque hero, the barbarian hero imposing some measure of order on the seabed wilderness. He can be a regal figure, King Arthur ruling over underwater Camelot and protecting the realm from threats. He can be the star of murky Game of Thrones politicking regarding the throne of Atlantis. He can be about family drama, his mother ditching him, his dad frequently dead, his half-brother often serving as his enemy, his wife having tried to kill him and her side of the family continuing attempts to assassinate him.
Yet DC has seemingly given up on him for now. Not so Harley Quinn whose comic sales appear to be just as awful and whom starred in several high profile flops across multiple mediums recently. People bitch about the New 52 but that era was a Golden Age for Aquaman. For the record, every moron on social media who whines about Johns tackling all the stupid memes surrounding Aquaman head-first as being the wrong approach, only outs themselves as a midwit.
Tumblr media
NOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T DO THIS IT'S INSECURE!!! - Dorks on social media who have no clue how to make characters popular.
Sales proved Johns had the right approach. Aquaman became cool after the Johns run. Various other writers from Peter David to Kurt Busiek had attempted to rehabilitate Aquaman and their efforts failed for a variety of reasons, but my personal opinion is they failed because they tried to pretend Aquaman's bad reputation didn't exist. They weren't willing to address the criticisms head on, instead opting to bury their heads in the sand, or have Arthur beat up more popular characters to increase his own standing. Aquaman in the New 52 worked because Johns had Arthur all but look directly at the readers and say "shut the hell up, forget all the dumbass memes for a second, and watch this." Shockingly, it worked!
Chalk it up to prime Johns' ability to make any C-Lister appealing to readers, or that a bunch of new readers jumped on with the New 52, but Aquaman ran for 52 consecutive issues. Not feeling optimistic about any Aquaman book repeating that feat anytime soon. Feel free to rate Jeff Parker’s follow up run as superior in terms of storytelling, I think it’s fantastic myself, and it does make Atlanna an interesting character rather than the cliche dead parent, but we never would have gotten Parker’s run without Johns. He built the fanbase to support the book. Wan's first movie owes a great deal to Johns, the same spirit of swashbuckling fun that made the movie connect is present within his run, and anyone who attempts to claim he deserves no credit isn't worth listening to.
Tumblr media
Like it or not, there was a misguided attempt to de-emphasize Arthur as the lead character as part of the disastrous push for legacies during Infinite Frontier. Young Justice Kaldur was my second favorite character after Superboy, yet I don't feel the same affection for Earth 0 Kaldur. He was barely Arthur's sidekick before they tried to make him Aquaman, and the attempt to reform Black Manta was a terrible creative direction. Tempting as it might be to lay all the blame on Kaldur, I don't think it's only his fault. We got a BL Aquaman book by Ram V where Arthur plays side protagonist to a bunch of OCs, with the expected result of said book flopping. Aquaman is not a franchise strong enough where you can sideline the titular character or use him to prop up other characters, a fact that the Black Panther franchise has also struggled to accept post Chadwick's death.
DC needs to get their collective head out of their ass and give Arthur another push. No sharing the mantle, no fighting over the Throne of Atlantis for the 50th time, let's try something else. If they don't have faith in a mainline Aquaman title, at least put out an Absolute Aquaman book. This is no way to treat the guy who gave you the highest-grossing DC film ever.

YJ Tragic Lovers - Final Message
Oh my god. I just realized something so sad about Young Justice regarding the deaths of some the beloved heroes who sacrificed themselves. They all share another sad similarity. Now I've mentioned before how when Wally, Tula and Conner died, it left their soulmates, Artemis, Garth and M'gann crushed by their losses, but I just realized something even sadder.
Right before these heroes died, every single one of them once again professed their love to their partners. Each of them said in a different way, but they all shared the same message and meaning.
In Young Justice: Legacy, a year before Invasion, Tula had to sacrifice herself to stop Tiamat and right before she died, she not only said goodbye to her friends, but declared her love for Garth one final time.
Tumblr media
Now Garth arrived shortly after Tula's sacrifice and so he didn't hear her final words, but despite that he knew how Tula felt. He knew she loved him and he would always be in her heart. (Sorry Kaldur.)
In Young Justice: Invasion, Wally joined Barry and Bart to stop the Reach's final Endgame, but at the cost of his own life since he was slower compared to the other speedsters. Knowing he was running out of time, Wally asked Barry to pass on his last words that he loved Artemis and his beloved parents before vanishing.
Tumblr media
Just like Garth, Artemis arrived to learn of Wally's death, but unlike Garth, Artemis got to hear Wally's final words from Barry before breaking down into tears.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lastly in Young Justice: Phantoms, Superboy had supposedly died after he made the ultimate sacrifice to stop a virus bomb from wiping out the martian race.
Unlike the deaths of Wally and Tula, where they were separated from their lovers and thus didn't get the chance to say their goodbyes in person, Conner and M'gann were together until the very end and right before they were torn apart, M'gann told Conner to be careful and he assured with Always.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've established in a previous post that Conner and M'gann have their own little way of saying I love you, specifically using the word, "Always."
It's so sad, but I'm still happy to see that at least each of these couples got to pass on one final "I love you." before their tragic deaths, knowing their loves would always and forever remain in their hearts. (And fortunately, one of the three couples got a happy ending after all.)

genuine question: what do you think of jackson? i like him! i just wish him and garth (of the past not rebirth) could speak and be more mentor/mentee and the whole... idk it would be nice if greg was not the way he was bc i think garth wouldve loved jackson
I really like Jackson! I think he’s one of the better things to come out of the more recent comics (New Orm is the other, though I do miss old Orm a lot I really liked him) but he’s sort of suck in a less than ideal story.
I think the Young Justice cartoon Kaldur kind of ruined Jackson’s chances of really thriving as a character. They’re not similar at all, but because of the unfortunate chokehold YJ has on comics really set Jackson up to have a specific trajectory that doesn’t really fit him. Hot take, but Jackson shouldn’t be Aquaman and should have gotten the chance to be his own hero! For the exact same reason that Garth needed to become his own hero! It’s insane that they didn’t do that and are insisting on making Aquaman a legacy character when that title isn’t nearly as significant to his people as Batman or Superman is!
Garth would have loved Jackson. And I liked Jackson with Lorena a lot (I miss her so much…) because I think preboot Garth and current Jackson could really relate to each other. I feel bad for Jackson’s potential, it almost reminds me of Koryak where there’s a REALLY cool character concept and they just go with the easier storyline instead of a compelling one.

"My name is Drusilla Stephanie Trevor, daughter of General Steve Trevor and crowned Queen Diana Prince, heiress to the Amazon throne of Themyscira, the demigoddess of honor and justice, the Slayer of all Monsters, Savior of all Nymphs, Ruler of all Legacies, Conqueror of all Titans, the Chosen One of the Spirit World, the last Prophecy of the Big Four, and the Avatar of Light. I'll bring everlasting peace to this world and outside this island no matter what costs me. I don't care if I get cursed, my loved ones matter the most in my eyes and their safety will always be my first priority. I found true love by my bond with my leader as his second-in-command to our team, Kaldur'ahm knew me by my goddess name...Bellatrix, and I'm stuck as Bella for a nickname from my friends. Kaldur and I get along very well ever since we both survived a war together with our buddies from our homes. I'm also that girl who fought men and women in steel cages to prison cells as Xena Jekyll...my ring alias when I'm ready to start eradicating my opponents. I won many wrestling championships by fighting with honor and respect from extreme to hardcore. I was always that tomboy, though I tend to look gothic and edgy as an emo girl. First off...I'm not emo, I wasn't in a phase at all...I wanted a new change for myself and chose to join the other side of darkness. My ex Gargarean boyfriend was a jerk from Olympus and I stayed in Themyscira with a broken heart after catching him kissing my former best friend. Kaldur fixed me back together and I kept my inner demons out of my head. My dad was a big supporter of my journey when I came to his world and taught me through life till I was ready to return back under my mom's wings. Being a child of a military veteran and retired soldier got some perks for my training, such as boot camp, summer school, detention centers, army drills, gym class, basketball games, wrestling matches, jail fights, gladiator battles, civil wars, rock concerts, house parties, live performances, animal hunting, juvenile programs, and much more. I was the guardian angel my parents loved to death and will never let them down, though I was my big brother's gift and we got a little brother to keep safe till we get a baby sister. My pets are very mystical to say the least in my life...my Pegasus named Salem, my dragon named Blake, and my wolf named Luna. I got nothing to say the most, but...one thing for others to do will be this...never trust snakes and watch your backs."

Okay but in the same vein, this version of Dick would also not realize that jobs aren’t necessarily hereditary? Like you don’t have to grow up and work in the same business as your parents. He is just completely unaware that you can essentially have any job you want so long as you do the necessary work for it.
Because with his parents, he only ever heard about how his grandparents and great-grandparents were also in the circus. His dad’s parents had performed in Haly’s circus, and so had their parents, and he never told Dick any other jobs they might have had or any generations before that (probably because he just didn’t know himself). And his mother, from what Dick knew, had parents who were acrobats in a couple different French circuses while she was growing up. His family have always been circus performers. It’s in their blood.
And now he’s with Bruce, and he just sort of expects he’ll help out with WE when he grows up. Because Bruce is already mentoring him for it, having Dick shadow him on the business side of things.
So when the team are hanging out together and someone brings up college and what they want to do when they’re done with school, Dick is so confused. Because all of his peers for the most part at Gotham Academy also have family businesses they expect to work in one day. Even Barbara wants to do something criminal justice related, or at least that’s what she told Dick last time it was brought up. And her dad is the commissioner, so it makes perfect sense in Dick’s head.
So when someone on the team asks what he wants to be when he grows up, he sort of just smiles and tries not to act so confused when he says, “Well I’m gonna work with B. Duh.”
“Well, okay,” Artemis says slowly, giving him a funny look. “But like, doing what? You can be vague, but is it like, sciencey? Businessy?”
“Why does it matter?”
“We’re just curious, Robin, that’s all,” Kaldur says, smiling at him. “It’s nice that you and Batman will be able to work together in and out of the masks, though.”
Dick is looking at all of them, trying to read their faces.
“I don’t get it,” he admits.
“You’re being really weird about this, dude,” Conner says, almost laughing.
“I’m being weird?” Robin huffs. “You guys are the ones not making sense!”
“What doesn’t make sense?” Wally asks. He has plenty of experience speaking Robin-ese, but even he’s having trouble figuring out what Robin’s confusion is this time.
“You guys are acting all weird that I’m gonna work with B,” Robin tells him. “Why wouldn’t I work with B? Of course I’d work with him! He’s my - you know, he’s - he’s my B!”
Wally smiles at him, but it isn’t a smirk and he’s not making fun of him this time, he just looks genuinely amused.
“I know what he is,” Wally says, sounding incredibly fond. “But Rob, dude, that doesn’t mean you have to work with him if you don’t like the job.”
“Uh, yeah it does,” Robin says in a very matter-of-fact tone. “That’s literally how jobs work.”
“It’s really not,” Wally tells him. He’s speaking carefully, not wanting to upset Dick, but he still has a fond smile on his face.
“Is it a family business?” Artemis asks, finally clueing in on what the problem might be. “Because that’s nice if it is, no one’s gonna get upset or anything.”
“Well, I mean, yeah, I guess,” Dick stutters over the words. “But - but aren’t all jobs? Sort of?”
“No,” Artemis laughs.
“You are so sheltered, dude,” Wally snorts.
“I am not!”
“You are a little bit.”
“But, everyone I know - all sides, it’s always been - for generations and - ugh!” Dick groans, tugging at his hair, frustrated that he can’t properly explain himself without giving away key factors in his secret ID. How is he supposed to explain that his parents’ families had been in the circus for as far back as anyone could remember? How is he supposed to explain the Wayne family legacy he got adopted into? How is he supposed to explain that everyone he interacts with at Gotham Academy talks about joining the family business one day? How is he supposed to explain all the other performers in the troupe at Haly’s Circus also had family that performed in circuses and shows for generations before them?
Dick’s whole life feels like a lie. He hates all of his teammates, and he leaves to go complain to Bruce about it.
And Bruce sits through all of Dick’s complaining, listens to the full story and all of Dick’s thoughts on it. And he thinks it’s adorable and sweet that Dick assumed he was expected to take over WE one day since Bruce adopted him, he thinks it’s precious that Dick thought the world was really that simple. Because Dick is bright and he’s precocious and he’s so so clever, but sometimes there will be the odd thing he’s very naive about because he’s still young, and Bruce just melts. Because that’s his baby boy, isnt he precious, oh Bruce can’t wait to tell Alfred about this one.
Dick just pouts at him. Bruce lets him sulk and then promises him they can play video games as soon as he finishes up typing up this case file. That makes Dick perk up and forget about why he was annoyed with everyone for a little bit.
The one where Dick has zero concept of how the average person lives
I want a fic where Dick just has absolutely no concept how the average person lives. He went from being raised in a circus to being raised in a manor by a billionaire. His concept of what is expensive and what is totally normal is completely skewed. That whole meme where someone thinks a banana costs $10? He really does think a single banana is $10. He thinks fresh fruit in general is ridiculously expensive; it's a luxury. He just thinks Alfred keeps so much of it in the manor because Bruce is rich. He'll eat a single strawberry and think, "Wow, this is the life."
At the same time, he thinks having expensive suits/clothes is totally normal. His family's circus costumes were some of the most expensive items they owned because it was essential to their act. Similarly, he thinks Bruce spends a fortune on all his suits and clothes for galas and events because it's part of being CEO of Wayne Enterprises. Their Batman and Robin costumes are expensive because it's part of their job. Clothes are super important. Doesn't everyone spend $45 on a plain T-shirt? His Gotham Academy uniform alone is stupid expensive, and that's just for school, every student wears the same thing.
He doesn't think his top of line fancy as hell cell phone is expensive because Bruce gets them through WE. They're basically free. Dick gets a new prototype phone like twice a year. Never mind that Bruce owns WE, that's irrelevant. It's an essential item in this day and age. It can't be that expensive.
So when the young justice team is hanging out at Mount Justice and Wally complains about his phone being old and not working right or not holding a charge the same anymore, Robin barely looks up from his phone and shrugs, saying in a nonchalant tone, "Dude just get a new one then."
"Oh yeah, let me just go get a brand new phone," Wally mocks, scoffing. The sarcasm goes completely over his head.
"B gets me a new phone all time. Just ask your dad, dude."
Everyone stares at him. Even Conner, who somehow knows more about things like this than Dick does. Cadmus psychic education was good for something, apparently.
When Dick looks up, he's confused about why everyone is staring at him.
"What, dude?" he asks, not understanding why Wally is making so many faces at him.
"You are so stupid sometimes," is all Wally says.
"What?" Dick asks again. Then he sits up, a frown on his face. "What's that supposed to mean!"
"It means you have no idea how a normal person lives," Wally jokes.
"That's not true!"
"It's totally true."
"Rob, dude," Wally says slowly, gently, as if Robin is a dumb little child. "Yesterday, you called M'gann outrageous for using raspberries in one of her dessert recipes."
"She used the whole container of them!" Robin defends himself, his voice getting a bit higher. "For a tart she didn't know she'd even like!"
"Robin," Wally says slowly, folding his hands, "how much do you think a box of raspberries costs?"
Robin shakes his head, looking offended.
"I dunno, but it's expensive!"
"But getting multiple new phones a year isn't?" Wally scoffs.
"They're essential!"
"A brand new phone is not essential!"
"It can't cost that much!" Robin argues. "You're so full of shit, Wally, you're just being mean to me!"
"You're literally wearing a designer jacket right now," Wally points out, tugging at Robin's jacket. Robin pulls away from him with an even more dramatic frown.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Robin whines.
"It means you're a snob," Artemis snorts.
"I am not!"
"You have a brand new WayneTech phone that only came out on the market like a month ago," Artemis tells him, "and you're wearing a jacket that's more expensive than one of my textbooks for school."
"It's a book, how expensive can it be?" Robin scrunches his nose up, not understanding the argument she's making. They go to the same school anyway (not that Artemis knows that). It's a textbook. It can't be that expensive. He remembers buying plenty of books with his parents, and his mom always encouraged him to get several at a time. The fact that they were pre-owned and came from a bin had nothing to do with it, obviously. Books are practically free. Artemis is just being annoying.
Artemis just lets out a laugh, shaking her head at him.
"Robbie, dude, my best friend," Wally laughs, sitting down on the couch next to him and wrapping an arm around his shoulders. "Who buys your clothes?"
"What does that have to do with anything?" Robin whines. When Wally pokes at him and insists he just answer the question, Robin pouts. "Agent A buys them."
"Who goes grocery shopping?"
"Agent A."
"Who pays your school fees?"
"B."
"Who pays for your phone?"
"B."
"Do you actually know how much anything costs?"
Dick blinks behind the dark sunglasses he's wearing, tilting his head at Wally. He looks around and sees how the whole team is staring at him, amusement clear on all their faces, and he frowns at all of them.
"I'm thirteen!" he whines. "I'm not supposed to pay for my own shit! You're all so mean to me!"
He pushes Wally off of him and stomps out of the room, ignoring the way they start laughing and how he hears Artemis mention something about him being spoiled. He's not spoiled. There's no way.
He ends up going back to the batcave, and he finds Bruce sitting at the batcomputer, trying to figure out the link between a recent case and an old one they'd solved months ago. Dick drags his feet the entire way over to him, groaning and whining as he drapes across Bruce's lap dramatically. Bruce just chuckles, patting Dick's back, but letting him have his dramatic moment without interruption. When Dick turns to look at Bruce with a pout on his face, Bruce just raises an eyebrow at him.
"Am I spoiled?"
Bruce chuckles again, a little smile on his face. He pinches one of Dick's cheeks and laughs when Dick whines and swats his hand away.
"Maybe a little bit," Bruce admits. "But it's fine."
"Wally says I have no idea how normal people live."
"That might be true," Bruce says with a shrug, going back to patting Dick's back. "You went from one extreme to the other. But I don't think it's anything to be concerned about."
"The team was being mean to me for it!"
"Meh," Bruce hums, not looking bothered, "fuck 'em then."
Dick snorts, and Bruce looks down to smile at him, then they both look around to make sure Alfred wasn't around to hear Bruce swear. Alfred should still be upstairs preparing dinner. They're in the clear.
"Wally's phone is old and sucks," Dick mutters to Bruce.
"I'll give one to Barry to give him," Bruce says easily.
They're both quiet for a moment, Dick still draped over Bruce's lap, Bruce still looking through old case files. Finally, Dick looks up at Bruce and asks, "B, how much does a banana cost?"
"I dunno," Bruce shrugs. "Ten bucks?"
Dick nods his head. Good, good. They're in agreement. It must be right.

Artemis has shown to be proficient at toxicology, able to concoct her own poisons and recreate her father Sportsmaster's drugs that he uses for certain victims, depending on the bounty request. He had forced his daughters to learn as an aspect of his training regimen, wanting them to be able to carry on the legacy that he had intricately developed over several years.
Her expertise in human biology as well plays a factor in this.
Despite the fact that Artemis is able to create incredibly dangerous poisons to the point where if administered, she will not. She will only use them to temporarily incapacitate people if she has to, which is why she used her father's catatonic drug on Psimon to keep him from invading Kaldur's mind in 2015 while they were both undercover.
+ As a villain/assassin in other verses, she does use poisons in order to complete and collect bounties. After she has hunted down her target, she will use her weapons that have been coated for a quick and easy kill.

For DC shows, I'm not a super connoisseur, but I can vet the following shows as being good/enjoyable/worth watching: Animated: - Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures: Iconic and responsible for shaping up a few of DC's more iconic characters, like Harley Quinn! Definitely worth a watch and it's a great introduction to a lot of Batman's rogues and the world of Gotham when the comics can see pretty intimidating. Also Timmy Todd is my son <3 - Batman Beyond: Does not interact with mainline canon, but this is such a nice and refreshing take on the Batman mythos and the legacy that the mantle holds. You should watch this after BTAS and TNBA because it references it a decent amount, but it isn't strictly necessary. - Batman: The Brave and the Bold: This is such a funny show. God. It's based more on the 50s-60s superhero antics and ensemble dynamics, but it is a good introduction to some lesser known characters and their gimmicks! - Justice League/Justice League Unlimited: More serious than TBatB, but a great introduction to the Justice League and their dynamics! The first season is really tight and the following stuff is more ensemble based, but there are some great stories and adaptations of really iconic comic storylines. - Young Justice (2014): This one is controversial and I Get Why. I really do. Most comic readers have some kind of grudge against this show because it REALLY messes with some fan favorite characters, like Superboy, and drops the ball on others, like Miss Martian. That being said, I really did enjoy the first season and parts of the second. Kaldur and Artemis are my absolute faves from that show and I really wish they were ported to the mainline comics (jackson hyde does not COUNT, DC!). I think it's worth checking out, though honestly I may check it out before getting into the other stuff just so you don't feel as offended by some of the worse characterization changes. - Teen Titans 2003: This one is a fan favorite, however, I never grew up with it and thus don't have the nostalgia for it? It has a few iconic and devastating plotlines, but it also spawned Teen Titans Go, so I'm a mixed bag on it. If you like goofier teenage hijinks but something more serious than TBatB or TTG, I'd say give it a shot! - The Batman (2004): A take of Gotham that's for slightly younger audiences, but I really enjoy it! The character designs go crazy and I like the changes they make to the characters in this universe. Worth checking out if you want some variety. - The LEGO Batman Movie: The only time I will ship BatJokes. God this movie is so funny and it really respects the history of Batman while also going off and doing its own thing. The only critique I have is that the Barbara Gordon there feels almost completely different from comics Babs, but I do love her and what she offers, so it's not that bad. - There are several other DC movies that I could recommend but the best one, IMO, is Under the Red Hood. The rest of them are pretty good to pretty bad but the UTRH adaptation movie is SO good. The final scenes live in my head rent free. Animated shows I have not watched but have heard good things about: - Creature Commandos - The Harley Quinn Show - My Adventures With Superman* * I have watched PART of this one and really enjoyed it, I just haven't gotten through it because I got distracted by other stuff. I really liked what I saw though! Very cute but I liked the dynamics and writing <3
any suggestions on shows for dc like superman, batman?
(also is daredevil good???)
YES DAREDEVIL IS GOOD!!! I do not know much about comics matt but my friend @overlordstick has read through his comics and watched the full show and would absolutely have more to say on the subject that I do! However, from my own experience with the show and having a history of finding a lot of the MCU's media kind of boring, Daredevil is *such* a good show. The pacing is fantastic, the actors nail their roles, and you feel the stakes of what is ultimately pretty low-level crime as far as superheroes are concerned because they make you see how even this lower level crime has an effect on every level of the community. Really great stuff!! (Reblogging my show stuff in a second part!)

Hay I've seen some of your q&a and saw the one for the legacy league (as you call them.) about their relationships with the team. Well check this out the legacy league and the team from season 1 of young Justice the TV series. Basically they all have a sibling relationship with each other. You know like (example) Conner Kent and Jon Kent, dick Grayson and Damian Wayne, Kaldur and Arthur Curry jr. You know that sort of stuff. What sort of sibling relationships do you see all them having with each other?
@we-cross-universe-king-relate
1: hi, I am not the creator for legacy league, that’s actually buddy @camo-wolf who created that team lol
Unless you mean my team: (new) Young Justice lol
But
I can see them having very good sibling like relationships, like the older ones giving the younger ones advice on life and superheroing plus some older sibling “picking on” the younger ones humor lol

a/n: i disregarded a certain part of your request because it was ooc for kaldur, but here you go!!
requested by anonymous
Years. Kaldur has know you for years, since adolescence. And now the pair of you were grown up, living out the legacies you were promised when you first stepped foot in Mount Justice. But over the years, you also grew closer, to the point where when you walked into the room, Kaldur felt whole again, knowing this feeling few times before. He had feelings for you, his best friend. And this time, he could not let anything stand in the way of that. No person or fate would prevent him from truth. “Y/N, may I speak to you in private?”
“Sure! Will you guys excuse us?” You said to fellow heroes you’d been congregating with and stepped into a nearby room. “Everything alright, Kaldur?” You checked first and foremost.
“Very. There’s just something I need to tell you.” You nodded, giving intent eye contact and awaiting what he had to say. “We have always been close, and I’ve been very grateful for the friendship we share,” he made a decision to grab your hands together in his own and continue, “but lately, I believe our bond has evolved in my own mind. I apologize if this is upsetting to hear, but I cannot make the same mistakes of my past. Y/N, I have feelings for you, but I understand if you don’t feel the same way.” You smiled and eased Kaldur’ahm’s worries, more so when you gave him a kiss on the cheek.
“Not upset. I’m actually glad, if anything. Maybe we discuss this over dinner?”

Excuse me, is someone bothering you?
conner kent & zatanna zatara, young justice fic. (they are besties)
I realised I never posted this one on tumblr, and it's one of my favourites still, so here it is. T-rated, 1.8k words | read on ao3
Summary:
When Zatanna first joins the team as an insecure teenage girl, Conner has her back. When they're both adults and Conner is still struggling with daddy issues, Zatanna returns the favour. Every good friendship needs a healthy dose of magic and muscle.
It’s difficult enough trying to save the world on a daily basis; it’s even more difficult when you’re dealing with a group of rowdy teenagers.
Zatanna has friends, sure. But she keeps her distance at school, because well—her powers tend to be unstable. Her dad can get pretty protective of her, too, so when he finally agreed that she could join the team, she was ecstatic.
(And not at all prepared for what being in a team with no boundaries, no privacy and no place to hide, meant.)
It’s only her second week with them and everyone’s having an argument on the Bio-Ship over no-one-remembers what. She’s sitting next to Conner, both of whom have been watching the scene unfold in front of them.
“You just can’t help yourself, can you? You just have to be the center of attention all the time!” Wally yells at Dick.
Dick jumps out of his seat, ready to try to drag Wally out of his and wrestle him into the ground, probably. “Me? Oh, that’s rich, coming from the guy who screwed up every part of the plan!”
“Dick, will you listen to us for once? Wally was trying to save your ass,” Artemis cuts in, huffing. “Just admit it. You miscalculated. I tried to tell you that the warehouse was sealed from behind!”
“That’s what she sai—”
“Shut UP, Wally,” everyone says.
M’gann rubs her temples together and says, “Right, no more yelling. It’s not good for the ship. If you want to talk, we talk like adults on my mind-link. I’ll kick you out if you can’t be civil about it.”
“Maybe if you stop with these avoidance techniques and actually try to have a conversation with us instead of retreating into your mind fortress, we’d be a better team,” Kaldur says.
M’gann flares up. Conner jumps out of his seat to try to comfort her, but stops in his tracks as they look at each other.
Zatanna knows that look. Everyone in the room is silent for the next minute. Expressions twist and change, arms start flailing around.
“You guys are having a telepathic conversation without me again, are you,” she says, flatly.
What was she thinking? Joining this band of spoiled, legacy brats, none of whom can make a single decision without imploding on each other? And she has nothing to contribute, not because she doesn’t want to be involved in the fight, but because she can’t even focus on anything but the spells she messed up during the mission.
No one’s chosen to pick a fight with her over it, or scold her for screwing up. Is she not even worth taking seriously?
She’s not one of them. She can never be. Maybe she should just go home to her dad, tell her that he was right and that she isn’t ready for this.
Everyone turns towards her all of a sudden.
“What?” Zatanna says, and M’gann gives her a sympathetic look. Oh. “I was on the line, wasn’t I? You guys were listening.”
Yeah, we heard you, Dick replies, dropping his gaze.
She runs off to the back of the ship and lets out a little cry.
To her surprise, she feels a heavy hand on her shoulder as she’s wiping her tears away. She sees the shadow of a rather large someone sitting down next to her.
“Hey,” Conner says. “You okay?”
“Sraet og yawa,” she says in barely a whisper. She takes a breath and nods.
Conner frowns. “You don’t have to do that. Not around me. Or any of us.”
Zatanna lets out a weak laugh. “Yes, I do. Everyone already knows I’m not—my dad thinks I’m not ready for this. Batman, too, apparently.”
“Batman has ridiculously high standards,” Conner smiles. “I’m pretty sure Dick doesn’t meet them, either. And I’m the same way with, you know, the big guy.”
“Oh. Superman?”
He nods. “He always seems disappointed, whenever he looks at me. But none of that matters to anyone here. You know, we’re always impressed by you.”
“Me? I haven’t even done—I still don’t feel like I’m not pulling my weight. You guys always have these new ideas, new ways of looking at things or trying to come up with strategies for our missions. Every second I spend off the field I’m practicing spells in my head.”
Conner shrugs. “Everyone has their strengths. Look at me, I’m just the muscle guy.”
It’s nice, actually, talking to someone levelheaded, who’s not trying to pry into her mind or ask her a million questions about her life. She's always thought of Conner as brooding and intimidating. Now she realizes that he’s probably a lot like her, just wanting to get by without people crossing boundaries.
“Besides, the reason why no one yelled at you was because we had nothing to yell at you for. You were the only one who did what you were supposed to on this mission. Sure, it took you a while to break those chains, but you stayed focused on what you had to do and you kept trying until you did it. Better than the rest of us.”
“That’s—that’s really nice of you to say, Conner,” she smiles, for the first time tonight. “Thanks.”
“If you’re ready, they’re all waiting for you back in there. We all owe you an apology.”
He stands up and pulls her up to her feet.
“Oh, no, you guys don’t owe me anything.”
“Zatanna.”
“Okay, maybe an apology would be nice. And some peace and quiet for the rest of the flight. I really do need to meditate and practice a couple of spells in here,” she points to the side of her temple, as Conner chuckles and nods.
He cracks his knuckles like they’re about to go into a fight.
Judging by the way he’s standing next to her like a guard dog ready to attack in front of the rest of the team, he might actually be.
“Listen up, everyone,” he starts, and okay, Zatanna’s never actually heard Conner address the room like this. She forgets, because of his usually quiet demeanor, that he can break people with two fingers.
“You’re going to apologize to Zatanna. She deserves a little more respect, and team members she can rely on. Not just to watch her back on the field, but to listen to her. And we all know we suck at doing that.”
Zatanna’s probably blushing ten shades of red right now, but someone in the room had to say it. She thinks she’ll be able to stay on the team for a little longer, if this keeps up.
-
Years later, Zatanna gets promoted to join the League.
She celebrates with the team at Barry’s place, where everyone’s toasting to her and Raquel, their newest members.
Zatanna’s been sitting on Dick’s lap for the past twenty minutes as the two of them share a slice of cake. Dick licks off a bit of frosting from her nose and she has to push his face away the second she sees Barry and Iris walking past.
Drinks are flying around, Artemis and Wally are cornering Bart in the kitchen for something he did last night, Kaldur is trying to make sure L’gann doesn’t embarrass the Atlantean crest, while M’gann is quietly sitting in the corner of the room, absentmindedly watching the door.
“Hey, I’ll be right back,” Zatanna says, patting Dick on the head as she walks over to M’gann.
She’s thinking about the fact that Conner isn’t here. They broke up a couple of weeks ago and it’s been hard on all of them. Conner told them he’d come, but he had to head to Metropolis for an important conversation with Clark.
He’s been getting worked up about it all week.
“If you know so much about how he’s feeling, will you go check on him for me?” M’gann asks. “He gets sensitive when it comes to him and Clark. I know it’s not my place anymore—and he’s always relaxed around you.”
Zatanna nods. “Of course, I’ll see how he’s doing.”
She teleports herself to him and winds up in an office in Metropolis, where Conner punches through the wall inches away from her face.
His eyes go wide when he notices she’s there. “Zatanna? What are you doing here?”
Zatanna looks to the other side of the room and sees Clark, taking off his glasses and looking frustrated.
“I was just checking to see if you were okay,” she says, deciding to keep M’gann’s name out of it. “We’re celebrating at Barry’s now, if you’re still up for joining.”
Conner places a hand on his forehead. “I promised I’d be there. I’m sorry, Zatanna, I just got caught up in—” he looks at Clark, who’s giving him a look that looks almost like a warning.
What the hell is going on?
“Right,” she says, walking over to Clark and planting her feet down. “I don’t know what it is you think he’s done to besmirch your name this time, but I’ve had enough. He deserves better. And every single time Conner does something good, not even for himself—because it’s never about himself—it’s just never enough for you.”
Clark stares at her, wordlessly, as does Conner.
He finally settles on, “Zatanna, I apologize if I’ve done anything to offend you.”
At the lack of a response, offers something perhaps a little more honest in, “I am trying.”
“Then do better,” she replies, without missing a beat. “It's not me you need to apologize to. Conner has always made sure to let me know that I was never alone. You, of all people, should know how important that is.”
She wants to go on, but she knows this isn’t her fight. She turns around and finds Conner standing next to her.
“I think I’ll go with you now.” Conner glowers at Clark, “Don’t follow us.”
“At your command,” she replies, trying to maintain a lighthearted tone. Clark takes a step towards them, which results in Conner flinching slightly.
Zatanna raises her hand up towards him and says: “Yats dednuorg thginot.”
When they return to the party, everyone starts crowding around her to ask her if she really did take away Superman’s powers of flight for the night. She's never been very good at escaping attention, no matter where she went or what she did. Judging by the satisfied grin on Conner's face, she has a green light to take the floor.
Barry raises an eyebrow when she tells them. “I didn’t even think that was possible. Be careful around Batsy with that. He might start coming to you for favours.”
“Upping your game already, Zee?” Raquel asks. Her eyes are sparkling with the possibilities of what they'll achieve when they start playing with the adults. Raquel's already poised to make a bold entrance, and if Zatanna already taking on Superman before day one then they're both as well-positioned as rookies can be.
“Oh, you know. Just a little practice, that’s all,” she says, smiling at Conner. “Magic is a little bit like muscle sometimes—you never know how strong you are until you push a little harder. Or take on someone twice your size.”
He laughs, and she happily takes that as an agreement.

there’s a lot of things i love about young justice but i think one of my favorites is how all the characters have had like clear character arcs over the seasons- we get to watch dick struggle to be both more and less like bruce as he becomes a leader and a hero outside of batman, we see kaldur give up everything for the mission and then take over as the head of the justice league, artemis goes from an angry girl trying to escape her family’s legacy to a grieving young woman to a powerful hero of her own, connor finds a sense of peace and inner security and let’s go of all the rage he was toting around at the beginning, mgann comes to accept and take pride in all elements of her martian heritage without trying to hide parts of herself, and will/red arrow goes from a self-destructive young man full of rage and desperate guilt to a single dad who loves his daughter more than anything and enjoys the bonds he’s made. i mean god wally’s not even in the show anymore but he still feels so present because artemis and dick and the rest of them so obviously carry him with them everywhere they go! and even the villains grow with them- the teenaged villains they’ve grown up fighting like icicle jr and the terror twins are still around, and you can tell they all know each other! the little banter convo between connor and icicle jr in 3x13 is great because it’s so fucking genuine! they’re joking around and yeah they’re fighting but they’ve also known each other since they were 15, and it shows. it’s all so so good man and no ones character growth gets brushed off or ignored- all their trajectories make sense and feel fair and realistic, and it makes it so much easier to feel connected to these characters, especially since we’ve literally watched them grow up

What are your thoughts on Young Justice?
The animated TV show or the comic? The TV show is what I’m more familiar with so I’ll go with that.
Tumblr media
Short answer is that I loved the show prior to it's cancellation, and am significantly cooler towards it since it came back. Sucks to say, but the show peaked in Season 1, that was the best balance between what the showrunners actually wanted to do and what the show billed itself as being about. The S1 cast was entertaining and enjoyable to follow, not everything revolved around the Light's endless keikakus with Darkseid, and the "filler" was tolerable because it was starring characters I actually liked. We got to see the team actually grow and develop on-screen instead of having massive shifts in the status quo occur in-between seasons with time skips. Those time skips are what crippled the show in my opinion, so much important stuff happened between S1 and S2, developments that really needed to be something the viewers actually watched happen for themselves. Why rob us of actually seeing Clark and Conner bond for example? Why couldn't we have actually seen Dick leave to become Nightwing and Jason Todd join as his replacement Robin? Too much was skipped over for my taste.
This was advertised as a show about the next generation of legacy heroes finding their place in the world. With every season Young Justice has been torn between that original promise, and the showrunners clearly wishing they could just do a Justice League/general DCU show (or hell maybe just a "The Light" show). Even S4 - which was billed as refocusing on the S1 team - has frequently fallen short of that, with the S1 members often feeling like side characters in their own "arcs". The show has outgrown the original cast but that's actually another problem: they keep shoving more characters in without actually doing anything meaningful with them. Remember Static? I was so hyped to see him join the team, but he hasn't done a damn thing. Tim Drake might as well not exist for all the usefulness he serves, ditto Cassie, Jaime, and pretty much everyone from S2. All of S3 was basically a complete waste of time except for Violet and Brion I guess, but neither of those were important for S4. Black Lightning becoming the JL chairman was treated as a big deal at the end of S3, but he's been irrelevant this season.
And then there's the "Weismanisms". His love of stupid "meme words" like "aster" or the annoying way Forager constantly refers to Forager in the third person because Forager is so le wacky! His painfully clumsy attempts to talk about gender and the like which all feel "very special episode" in comparison to peers in the animation space. Turning every villain into Xanthos where everything is "just as planned!" and ties back to Savage and Darkseid's dick measuring contest, which only serves to make the universe feel smaller. Add in that Weisman has outright said he just plans on setting up endless cliffhangers until they cancel the show, and I just don't feel the same affection or need to keep watching that I once did.
Tumblr media
Not to say that I'm completely disenchanted with the show, it has many positives going for it. For one, Weisman is known for meticulously mapping out a timeline and keeping track of continuity in his shows, something the mainline DCU has long since given up on. YJ manages to do a good job of presenting a "streamlined" DCU that is grounded in some areas while still allowing for the high-conceptual stuff to exist like the New Gods, the Legion of Superheroes, the Reach, the Lords of Chaos and Order, and more. Kaldur is the only Aqualad I've ever cared about and he was created specifically for the show. Vandal Savage has never been better than how he's been portrayed here, and his connection to the metagene is admittedly clever. Really the biggest appeal is that this show is likely as close as DC will ever come to recreating the shared universe outside of comics. The DCEU is a wreck, with Batman and Superman planned to be siloed off into their own continuities, the Arrowverse is winding down and never had the big names. Young Justice is the only DC product that continuously shows you the Justice Society and the Legion of Superheroes operating concurrently, the Trinity in the thick of things while mentoring their legacies, Wildstorm and Milestone characters and concepts showing up, and even a new generation coming up behind the one we follow with the introduction of Jon and Damian.
There's a real sense of time moving forward, that this universe does exist beyond just the scope of the team's heroics, the heroes visibly age, even if it frustratingly doesn't result in much change to the status quo. But we do get shifts like Kaldur becoming Aquaman, and the idea that maybe Conner and Dick could some day take over for Clark and Bruce as Superman and Batman doesn't feel far fetched. But we need some real progress on the Light/Darkseid conflict, something major needs to happen with that plot thread. Weisman doesn't want to wrap everything up in a neat bow? Fair enough, but we are owed some kind of resolution to that conflict. The DCAU managed to tie up it's Darkseid/Lex/Brainiac plotline while still making it clear that there would be threats in play after, this show should do no less even if it ends with a tease that Starro is coming soon. For now I keep watching for as long as the characters I like - Conner is my favorite of the S1 cast, shocking I know - get to be involved in the plot. When that's no longer the case I'll step off of Weisman's wild ride, and let him ride off into the sunset or straight into a wall as the case may be.
