We all know what happened with the last boy that liked her😶
Don't worry she is a changed woman
It doesn't really matter if you are mortal, ghost or heavenly official. She loves you eather way.
Spending time togather is kinda hard. She is the top 1 civil god who is holding the whole heaven from collapsing. She has SO MUCH responsibilities. But when you get to be togather, she makes the lost time up.
Now, if you were heavenly official things would be kinda easier. You work and live in the same realm after all. You can visit her in her palace, help her with her paperwork, sleep togather in one bed (if she even can get some sleep) and so on. She helps you out when Pei Ming tries to seduce you into his bed. She knows you can take care of yourself but she likes to protect you. She LOVES to listen to you talking about your past life as a mortal, before you ascended. You, talking about how your parents and friends would have loved her, how your home looked like made her heart warm. She wondered, have you made any crimes to get where you are now. But looking at you, being so carefree, she wouldn’t dare to think that again. It's not her business she is just lucky to have you and happy that you help her❤️
If you were a Ghost, things would be harder, but it wouldn’t change anything between you two. Love is love and you can't choose who you love. Heaven doesn't like ghosts, so the relationship has to be a secret. If someone finds you two hanging around she pulls hualian and tells them that you are 'just friends' or 'sisters. She doesn't care for your true form, for her you look wonderful which ever form you take. When you tell her how you died, what a tragic life you lived, she comforts you and tells you how you have her and that she would NEVER leave you. Sometimes when she gets some free time she comes to the Ghost realm to see you. You go the gambler's den, ghost city salon, baking at your place or just cuddling and being in each other's embrace❤️
Last time a mortal loved her it didn't end well. You are different. If you were a mortal the relationship would be easier. At night she would appear in your dreams, sometimes in her female form, sometimes in male form. You have a whole table as an altar for her where you worship her every day. You give her offerings, burn incense stiks and light candles. You never pray to her. You know how much work she has, how many other believers, you don't want to put more work on her shoulders. You know you can get and say anything you want when she descends to you again. You wait for her everyday, talking and speaking with her through your dreams isn't enough. But when she comes down twice in a month, she gives you the day and night you would never forget❤️
Ling Wen is a romantic and gentle Lover. She would never harm you or your loved ones. But let's not forget she also has a darker side. She is VERY smart and cunning, we know she can be manipulative and gaslighting. She won't hesitate to use these traits to protect you or get what she wants.

I’ve been living with an empty space in my heart after finishing The Untamed and Word of Honor, coming here to read some good fics and finding none for WoH and only a few for MDZS (which I already have read all)
Like there are a lot of beautiful and fic-able(? characters in both shows ????

Innocent love -- WIP
Tumblr media
Pairing: Wen Ning x f!reader
Tags/Warnings: pure fluff, Wei Wuxian and Jiang Yanli playing matchmakers, some trauma description, mature content in later chapters, everybody deserves a happy ending
A/N: So the time has finally come for me to post my first fan fiction on tumblr. This will be a canon divergence au. Characters are based on the live series (Chen Qing Ling/The Untamed) both in appearance and back story. I will pick up the story during ep.26 after Wei Wuxian finds Wen Ning. Alive! The pursuit of the Wen Clan's remaining members is cancelled and Wei Wuxian won't become the Yiling Patriarch. Also him and Lan Wangji are together in this because I make the rules.
I'm not promising a quick update as I am busy with my intern year BUT I will be free in two weeks time. I will happily tag anyone who would like to get a reminder when this gets posted!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Summary: You are the distant cousin of the Lan brothers. Even though you didn't grow up with them, you spent a lot of time in Cloud Recesses. After your parents died, you moved in to Cloud Recesses. Your best friends are Wei Wuxian and Jiang Yanli.
After the Sunshot Campaign, the members of the Wen Clan are pursued and killed. Wei Wuxian, with the help of his family and the Lan Clan, manages to stop the massacre and save the remaining innocent members of the Wen Clan. Wen Qing and Wen Ning are temporarily moved in to Cloud Recesses to recover. This is when you finally meet the saviors of Wei Wuxian and his siblings. You are indescribably grateful to the Wen siblings, and do everything in your power to help them. However, one unexpected thing happens: you fall in love with the kind and soft-spoken Wen Ning.
“I literally don’t give a fuck. Get his ass out of my sight.”
Your brows raise as you look down at the tablet in your arms when the sound of your boss's voice rings through the bar. Someone had pissed him off and you were just happy it wasn’t you this time. Wen Junhui was an important man to a lot of people and for a lot of reasons, most of those reasons you chose to ignore and just do your job.
There were a lot of things in your job that you had to ignore in order to keep it. Things like money appearing in large quantities with little to no explanation and meeting someone only to never see them again after they opened their mouth just a little too much.
Glancing towards Jun’s office, you watch as one such man is being pulled out by Xu Minghao, Jun’s second in command. You meet the desperate man’s eyes only briefly before dropping yours, but it’s enough to give him hope as he pulls against Minghao’s arms, trying to move back towards the bar where you were standing.
“Hey! Hey, lady, pretty lady! I'm in here all the time. You ‘member me right?”
Scoffing, Minghao shakes his head, nodding towards security at the front door for help. You watch under lowered lashes as Kim Mingyu takes one of the man’s arms, helping Minghao drag him towards the exit as he continues to ask you for help.
“I had the fuckin’ money! This is bullshit!”
You let out a breath you hadn't realized you had been holding when Minghao walked back through the door, letting Mingyu shut it behind them. Wiping his hands off on the front of his shirt, the man lifts his eyebrows at you as you try to look busy with your previous task.
“You’ve been told not to look at trash when I’m taking it out. You don’t remember things very well to be so pretty, Y/N.”
Sighing, you finally meet Minghao’s eyes as he leans against the bar in front of you. You knew what you had been told; it was just that it was easier said than done to ignore something kicking and screaming as they were being dragged out of a building.
“I’m sorry. I should’ve gone to the back when I heard Mr. Wen ye–express his displeasure.”
You watch as a smirk pulls at one side of Minghao’s lips when you correct how you talk about your boss and his best friend. He had a soft spot for you and he knew you were doing your best.
“‘Least you know what you should've done.”
“Hao!”
Looking back towards Jun’s office when his name is called, Minghao purses his lips and pats the bar with his hand before giving you one more lingering look. You watch him until he disappears into your boss’s office and the door is left cracked so that only a low conversation can be heard.
You spent most of your days and nights at Moonlight Lounge. Since you had been introduced to Jun and taken on the unique position of his personal assistant, your life had changed dramatically. You were in charge of managing most of his personal accounts—but never his business accounts—and you were the one who kept his schedule to the minute.
“Y/N!”
Hearing your name being yelled by Jun wasn’t an unusual occurrence but he didn’t sound pleased, though that wasn’t a new fact either. You weren’t friends with your boss and you weren’t sure if you ever would be.
Holding the tablet closer to your chest, you glance towards Mingyu, who grimaces at how your name was said before turning away as you turn towards the office door. Everyone knew that one moment could make or break how your day was going to go at the lounge, and you had caused more of a disturbance by looking at the man as he had been dragged out.
Knocking on the door, you slip inside, feeling two sets of eyes on you as Minghao sits against a sidebar console on the right of Jun’s desk and Jun himself sits behind the large desk with a frown on his face. Lifting your eyes you try to skirt around Jun’s eyes but the man leans his head to catch your gaze before sighing and pushing his tongue into his cheek.
“Sit down. Jesus Christ…”
He was in a mood and there was nothing you could do to change it. Slipping into the leather chair, you clear your throat and rest your tablet on your lap, straightening your spine so that you feel taller and less small under Jun’s gaze. Lifting his hand, he pushes his glasses up his nose before reaching for the tumbler of whiskey in front of him, taking a sip and sitting it down hard.
“Tonight we have some important guests coming to the lounge. I want to make sure we have some of the girls prepared to serve them but I want you to steer clear of that section.”
Furrowing your brows, you give him a confused look when he doesn’t yell at you for what happened but instead goes to your task for the night. Glancing towards Minghao, you slide the pen from your tablet and stutter for a moment before opening the notepad to take notes.
“I–wh–oh…sure. Do I know who the guests are? So that I can tell them? And so that I can make sure there are adequate refreshments for their visit.”
Jun narrows his eyes at you before letting them move along your frame appraisingly as you switch into assistant mode and out of scared little kitten mode. You were stunning and when you wanted to be, you could be fierce. You had shown it on more than one occasion but Jun still had an urge to keep a close eye on you, like he did anything else that belonged to him.
“They are…” Smirking, Jun looks over to Minghao, lifting his hands in a question before sighing. “Competition and nothing more, darling. Don’t give them top shelf; we don’t serve that to those who don’t deserve it.”
Swallowing hard at the pet name, you make some limited notes as Jun watches you carefully. It wasn’t the first time he had called you darling or some other variation of a pet name, but it still made you nervous every single time. Rolling his eyes, Minghao crosses his arms and leans his head back as he watches Jun stare at you. He knew exactly what he was doing, even if you didn’t.
“I think that handles everything. Make sure they are happy, but not too happy. I want them to be jealous of what they can’t achieve. You get what I’m saying?”
Nodding, you bite at your bottom lip, making Jun tilt his head as he watches intently. You mutter to yourself, writing down a few of the waitress's names along with your suggestions for how the guests should be handled before looking up to meet Jun’s eyes and feeling your cheeks burn at how he is looking at you.
“Uh, yeah, I mean, yes, sir, Mr. Wen. I’ll take care of everything.”
Gesturing towards the door, Jun smirks as you pop up out of your seat quickly, ready to leave. He knew he was intense and he knew you were crumbling under him. He wanted you under him in more ways than one, but he had patience and an inkling of respect about him.
“Good girl. I’ll see you tonight then.”
right, dont know if this makes sense but lets say reader (any gender really idm) was a god who had seen the ups and downs of hualian and had always been there for them but despite the mutual feelings between the 3, none of them confessed.
the thing is that, jun wu (ew…) had become obsessed with reader (since they stuck so much by xie lians and hua chengs side, they got noticed by jun wu) and left his obsession for xie lian behind and one day after planning so for many years, jun wu captures reader and theres no word of reader for days, weeks even yet jun wu acts as normal.
would hualian tear up the whole place, get revenge, rescue reader then make sweet love to them? up to you! you dont have to write ab this request btw:)
Ignore grammar mistakes
Slight OOC
Slight misinformation
You, Hua Cheng and Xie Lian have spent centuries together
But despite this you've never told them your feelings
And unknown to you, they've never told you their feelings either.
So you're all single but like, everyone else knows you guys are sort of together.
Other people know not to fuck with you when Hua Cheng has obviously staked his claim on you and Xie Lian
Except for Jun Wu, he doesn't care one bit.
Hua Cheng can't have the both of you so Jun Wu decides to obsess over you instead🤷
While Hua Cheng and Xie Lian are deep-rooted in their past, you're a little newer.
You definitely haven't spent 8 centuries with them
Plus how can he not notice you when you're stuck by the strongest martial god, and the strongest ghost king.
It's hard not to put a light on you
Jun Wu's obsession starts there. A small prick of intrigue
None of you would have guessed that he would've gone so far
After years of planning, and years of getting closer and closer to you his intrigue and obsession grows
So he finally takes you
Hua Cheng is on alert within the first 2 hours you're missing.
Maybe he's overreacting, maybe he's not.
You've always stayed by Xie Lian's or his side
And if you leave by yourself you would've told them.
When A whole day passed Xie Lian tries to assure Hua Cheng that you can take care of yourself and you're probably just on a mission
He's trying to make himself feel better too.
When three days pass Hua Cheng and Xie Lian think you've gone missing.
You would never do this to them, you would never make them worry
Hua Cheng has the ghost city on high alert and the ghost realm is already looking for you.
Xie Lian does what he can't in the mortal realm, giving people your description and hanging up drawings of you.
He also does what he can in the heavenly realm, after all a god going missing is very important
Especially when it's a god of the upper court like you
The upper court is in a slight panic. No one knows where you are and a lot of people in the upper court are your friends. So of course everyone's a bit in disarray when none of them have heard from you in three days
Not Feng Xin, Mu Qing, Pei Ming, Ling Wen, nor Shi Qingxuan.
You have so many friends, so many people that love you and yet you're not with a single one of them have you
So where are you?
A majority of the upper court brings it to attention to Jun Wu only for him... To act like nothing's wrong
He says gods are frivolous and curious, you may have just gone out alone.
There's no cause for worry he says
But everyone is still wary, especially Xie Lian
When he tells Hua Cheng what happened it doesn't go well.
With you gone missing and Jun Wu playing it off it doesn't take long for Hua Cheng to be blaming the emperor of your disappearance. Whether it's out of spite or genuine thought he doesn't know.
When a week passes Hua Cheng gives up on searching through the ghost realm
Not as in he gave up on you but as in he's breaking into the heavens to search for you instead.
You think Hua Cheng can't find you?
You'd be silly.
Xie Lian doesn't encourage it but he doesn't stop Hua Cheng either.
And maybe he slips some details about the emperor's palace. On accident of course.
Hua Cheng doesn't care to tear through the heavens as he did before for Xie Lian.
He tears through lower court gods and upper court gods who refuse to give details about your whereabouts, and who won't help him.
It doesn't take long at all for Hua Cheng to get into the main palace.
Especially when most of the upper court gods have gone missing...
Coincidentally enough all your friends aren't in the heavens to protect it
Feng Xin and Mu Qing on a mission, Shi Qingxuan out with the earth master. And the security of the heavens, Pei Ming? Apparently he's gone too.
So Hua Cheng can basically walk through the heavens to get to Jun Wu.
Hua Cheng doesn't feel bad for ripping the palace apart to find you.
And he does find you
Locked away in one of the far rooms, puzzles beyond puzzles. He just broke through them though.
When he finds you he's relieved you have no wounds, and that you're relatively okay despite being taken away for a week
Shaken up from being taken away from the people you care for most.
Hua Cheng would kill the emperor right there if Xie Lian didn't make a clear emphasis on just getting you home.
That doesn't stop Hua Cheng from setting fire to the heavens though
Once you're brought home, it's a lot of hugging, tears, and a lot of questions about what happened.
You cry and tell them that you were scared simply for the fact you would never get the chance to tell them you loved them.
They most literally freeze in their spots and are like "??? For real?"
Once all the I love you's pass Xie Lian and Hua Cheng cling to you
Taking you into bed and worshipping you on the sheets.
You've had a busy week, you deserve to be taken care of and that's exactly what they do.
After that they'll never let you be alone again
One of them is always at your side.
Especially Hua Cheng
The silver butterflies become a common sight in the heavens anytime you or Xie Lian are around
The fights along the way
A/n: I said I was going to write fanfocs that weren't hoyoverse related on this blog but I never actually posted any of my drafts so here's a quick drabble. I might editthis in the morning cause I'm tired. 😓
Pairing: Fengqing x gn!reader
Tags: reader prefers alone time over comfort, arguing (mu Qing and reader, Fengqing arguing if you squint), fluffy ending, (Y/C/N) = (Your courtesy name), reader cries when arguing, hurt/comfort
"What?" Feng Xin asked, his mouth agape.
"(Y/C/N) and general Xuan zhen are arguing at general Xuan Shen's palace," the junior official repeated, shuffling their feet on the spot.
It was common to hear Feng Xin and my Qing arguing. It happens almost everyday and if not, every other day. They'd try to beat each other up and no one batted an eye. Well, except you of course. You didn't want either of them to get hurt.
A crowd was forming outside of Mu qing's palace as shouts echoed from deep inside the halls.
Whispers could be heard amongst the crowd.
"No way, general Xuan Zhen and (Y/C/N) are arguing?"
"Do you think they'll get into a first fight?"
"No, no way. Maybe if it was general Xuan Zhen and Nan yang fighting but it's (Y/N/C)...surely he wouldn't hit them." Heavenly officials sure do love to gossip, huh?
Feng Xin shoved the crowd, making a path to the entrance of the palace where the screaming got clearer.
"Everyone leave!" Feng Xin shouted and despite the two of you hearing Feng Xin, neither of you backed down.
Soon, crowds dispersed and a junior official lead Feng Xin to the garden behind the golden palace.
"I don't understand! What's wrong with helping king with her paperwork?!" you screamed, throat going sore as small tears started to prick at the corners of your eyes.
"How could you not possibly understand! Are you an idiot?" Mu Qing screamed back, his own voice becoming hoarse. "You've been so caught up with someone else's job that you don't even have time for anything else! are you even taking care of yourself?!"
"Ok? And what's wrong with helping someone, huh?!"
"The problem is you don't have enough time for anything else!"
"I don't understand! I like helping people so it doesn't matter and I'm still making sure I eat correctly and I-" You hicupped. Streams of tears ran down your cheeks, collecting in a little drop at a bottom before falling to its inevitable demise.
However, Mu Qing didn't flinch, didn't say another word, didn't try to comfort you or even reach you. Just stood there silently as you started crying. Small sobs rattled your ribs and you started to furiously wiping away your tears. "I just don't understand..."
"(Name)..." a voice called out. Heavy footsteps strides towards you as strong arms tried to wrap around your waist but you backed away. "(Name)?"
"Not now Xin-er," you said between shaky breaths. Mu Qing studied you carefully and pursed his lips, the first he clenched so tight before, relaxing and unraveling.
Yet again, you dodged one of Feng xin's attempts at comforting you and ran out of the palace, back to your own. You just needed some time to think.
Worried eyes watched you before hardening slightly when meeting Mu qing's. "Now, why would you argue with (name), look what happened," Feng xin said rather softly compared to his expression.
"Well, I don't know! Feng xin we didn't see them for a year because they were too busy helping someone or whatever," Mu qing said, growing quieter with each word.
"Qing-er..." Feng xin said, embracing Mu qing who resisted at first but gave in. "Just give them some time, they'll come around."
Waking up alone in your cold empty bed when you usually had you lovers with you was something you had grown used to in the past year, being busy with ling Wen's paperwork on-top of your own duties.
You got to work, quickly getting ready for the day and leaving to go to your office when you say something while you passed the dining table. You went a few steps back before turning to face the basket of fruit on your dining table and a near letter, sealed with a golden wax stamp.
"It was left outside this morning," one of your junior officials who happens to be passing spoke up.
"Thank you," you muttered, opening the letter and reading it. A soft smile graced your lips as you read the name that the letter signed off with. "Idiot."
Soft footsteps approached quickly, the jogging pace, breaking into a run as the two men, Mu qing and Feng xin who were standing by Mu qing's desk, got tackled in a hug.
"You know if you missed me, you could've said so," you whispered but they could hear you as clear as day.
"Sorry," Mu qing whispered back.
"I love you," you whispered, grinning.
"We...love you too," Mu qing whispered bsck, a blush forming in his cheeks as the three of you stayed in each other's embrace.
"Yeah we all love each other but why are we whispering," Feng xin whispered, a genuinely confused expression in his face. Mu qing rolled his eyes while you started laughing. Feng xin just looked between the two of you before saying,"What...? What did I say wrong?"
Fengqing x Goddess of Death! Reader
Warning!!! Contains death! (it's gentle and unnamed characters, but still, be warned)
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure tgcf doesn't have death gods (I haven't read the books yet, but I know most of the plot) but we'll ignore this fact
I added a name for the goddess, but it's literally just a nickname
The goddess of death was very elusive, many heavenly officials considering her a myth, only few having seen her a select few times.
So, perhaps it was inevitable that somebody would deem it necessary to track the goddess down, for paperwork that was never reported.
And who would be the one assigned such if not Xie Lian himself?
And who would be the tag-along's if not Hua Cheng, Mu Qing and Feng Xin?
In their disguises, of course.
So that's how they ended up making their way to a village that apparently housed a pair of senior-aged soulmates who had reincarnated together to share their love.
On the way they end up meeting a traveler woman, with silver hair and carrying a white cloth bundle in her arms.
"Ah, are you fellow travelers, perhaps?" she'd started with a curious tilt of her head.
"Yes," Xie Lian smiled, "we heard the town just up ahead has wonderful views, so we wanted to visit."
A peculiar, knowing glint entered the woman's eye, "Sure there are!" she leaned in closer, as though telling a secret, "They say, whatever you're looking for can be found in Yang village."
"And you're looking for something." Hua Cheng pointed out amicably.
The woman laughed, "Of course! As are you!"
The rest of their walk to the village was relatively quiet, even Feng Xin and Mu Qing not bickering much.
Instead, the two might be seen whispering among themselves, casting an occasional glance at the traveler woman accompanying them.
Upon reaching the Yang village the silver haired woman turned to them, smiled and bowed, "You'll find what you're looking for." and with that strange glint in her eye, she walked off.
Once alone, the quartet were left in a bout of silence.
"Where might we find the couple, gege?" Hua Cheng turned to Xie Lian with the same smile he always had for his gege.
"Ling Wen gave me their names, so let's just ask around, see if anyone knows."
And that's how they found their way to a regular village home with a yard and some trees.
In the yard of the senior couple, they found a woman with glittery silver hair, draped in a pristine white cloak, with an elegant black scythe held in her hands, sitting on a tree stump, looking into the home of the soulmate couple.
Upon their approach, the silver haired woman smiled, "Ah, it appears you have found what you were looking for, fellow travelers!"
Mu Qing's eyes narrowed, "Are you really the goddess of death?"
The goddess before them smiled in a sly, perhaps infuriating, way, "Perhaps, if you could guess my name~."
"Why do we need to guess your name?" Feng Xin's brows furrowed.
"Because," the goddess's smile seemed a permanent fixture, "you hadn't asked before."
"Most of heaven doesn't know your name." Mu Qing pointed out.
This time Hua Cheng butted in, "Of course they would not."
Mu Qing bristled at this "You-!"
"I think part of it is Yue," Xie Lian interrupted, "Because of your hair."
"The moon." The goddess confirmed, "I'll accept that and ask for no more then."
Yue stood up and walked toward the open door to the home, where they could see the soulmate couple having a mid-day nap, with their door to the yard open to let in the warm summer breeze.
The goddess of death approached the couple and kneeled beside them.
"It's time now, my dears." She said and reached out a gentle hand to brush the wispy hairs out of their faces.
Soon after, the couple's chests stopped moving.
The goddess stepped away from the home, ribbons of silver hair fluttering in the wind, making her look every bit the ethereal being she is.
There was only one thought allowed in that moment.
"Wow."
................
I've had fengqing x Goddess of Death on my mind for quite a while now, I had to write this
The "wow" was Feng Xin, btw
Also, Hua Cheng has met the goddess of death before, so he knew
Requested by anonymous: hi hi lovie!! i love your writings so much!! they are so freaking good!! could i make request please? can i request a jiang cheng x fem!reader who’s a healer from the lan clan? she mainly is brought along on most missions, acting as the head doctor/healer of most of the clans; almost as good as wen qing. reader interacts with jiang cheng a lot bc jin ling is always getting injured. reader has the motherly/older-sister vibe; always taking care and letting some of the students (mostly sizhui and jingyi) sneak into their infirmary at night for snacks or comfort. jiang cheng and reader? OBLIVIOUS HOPELESS ROMANTIC AND TSUNDERE. nie huaisang, lan xichen, jin guangyao, and wangxian all bully them for their stupidity </3 even the juniors try getting them together,,, jin ling accidentally calls the reader auntie in front of jiang cheng,,, so soft for jiang cheng…i love
Pairing: Jiang Cheng x fem!reader
Word Count: 2706 words
Warnings: none
A/N they don't get together in the end, if you want I'll make a part 2 where they get together, but only after I've finished all other requests :)
You stared at the boys in front of you, trying to wrap your head around the story they just told. Mostly you were confused at how Jin Ling happened to be the victim since the boy was usually the one to not get injured. Nonetheless, you quickly told them to sit down before grabbing everything.
"Alright. Sizhui, hold this on his arm and put a lot of pressure on it. I have to get some herbs first, I'll be back in a few minutes." You said as you handed the towel to Sizhui before walking out of the room.
You looked through your stash, not much further from your practice and got the necessary herbs before walking back too your practice, only to be stopped halfway by Xichen, Mingjue and Jiang Cheng.
"Clan leaders." You bowed your head at them and Xichen gave you a warm smile.
"This is (y/n), she's our most skilled healer." He explained to the other two, who nodded in response.
"I apologize, but I have to goo back to my practice. Jin Ling got hurt." You said, the last part a bit more to Jiang Cheng. Jiang Cheng didn't seem to react at first, but it seemed to hit him afterwards at what you said.
"Jin Ling got hurt?" "Yes, I don't remember the whole story though. Something happened with a sword and a cliff, I couldn't follow well." You explained before quickly bowing and running off.
You entered your practice again, staring at the boys who were eating snacks.
"You stole my food stock..." You mumbled and Jingyi smiled happily.
"You're lucky I like you guys." You commented to which they all smiled brightly (except for Jin Ling, who was still in pain of course). You stepped closer to Jin Ling and crouched in front of him as you started to inspect and treat the wound quickly.
"Will it scar?" Jingyi asked and you nodded shortly as you continued to wrap the bandage around his arm.
"Definitely. You should start making up a story to tell to others." You joked as you looked up to Jin Ling.
"Battled a giant demon dog!" Jingyi shouts and you can't help but laugh.
"Those don't walk around anymore, a-Yi." "But it'd be awesome!" He commented again before taking a bite of his (your) food. You rolled your eyes as you finished up the bandaging before getting up.
"How about a wolf instead?" You commented as you started to wash your hands in the bowl of water while listening to Jingyi whine. You could hear Jin Ling cuss at Jingyi while Zizhen just laughed and you saw Sizhui shake his head with a smile.
"Don't come back here too often." You said with a smile as you put everything away again.
"Now, out." You said with a smile, pointing at the door. They all quickly ran out, Jingyi managing to grab some food before leaving.
Despite that, they somehow managed to land in your practice every week. It was mostly Jin Ling who got hurt and you learned that Jin Ling was extremely unlucky and unhandy. A combination that usually doesn't go well. You spend way more time with the junior quartet, because they also came by just to hide from lessons or just to get some snacks (which you now bought double from what you usually bought).
Having Jin Ling in your practice constantly also meant that Jiang Cheng came over more often, usually to bring Jin Ling home/to his room since Jin Ling always fell asleep at the practice. Sometimes, he stayed a bit longer and you got to talk to him a bit more.
You then, of course, started to develop a crush on the man.
You were sure that it was obvious, the snickering of Jingyi said enough. Even Sizhui couldn't help but smile every time Jingyi was snickering while Zizhen tried to make them quiet down.
But of course, the visits didn't stop. Jin Ling was back again every week, joined by his friends of course. But this week was the worst.
Jin Ling was laying on the bed, leg propped up as you tried to stop the bleeding while trying to talk to Sizhui about what had happened.
"We were practicing and the sword broke." Sizhui explained and you turned your head while holding pressure on the leg.
"You got a sword in his leg?" You asked and Sizhui nodded before you turned back to Jin Ling.
"Ever heard of practice sword? You know, the wooden one." You said and he looked away in shame, not answering the sarcastic remark. You started to remove the pressure before getting a needle.
"Sizhui, go get his uncle." You said as you started to stitch the wound, after putting a cloth in Jin Ling's mouth so he wouldn't break his teeth. It took awhile and Jin Ling had passed out from the pain earlier, you couldn't blame the poor boy. Jiang Cheng arrived just as you finished the stitching, eyes cast on the cut as well as all the blood on your hands.
"Good, you're here." You said as you got up, cleaning your hands once more in the basin of water, which had already turned red. Once your hands were clean, you took bandages from the table and started to wrap it around his leg.
"He won't be able to walk for awhile, so please make sure he doesn't. I know how stubborn your family can get. He'll also need to take certain medicines every 2 hours or so for 3 to 4 days." You said before glancing at Jiang Cheng, who was still staring at his nephew and you could spot worry in his eyes.
"He's fine, don't worry too much. You're free to stay until he wakes up." You got up again when you finished wrapping Jin Ling's leg and Jiang Cheng sat down near the bed, eyes now cast towards the broken sword pieces that you had pulled out of the wound.
"What happened?" "The sword broke and hit his leg. These boys don't seem to know the consequences of practicing with actual swords." You replied with a chuckle as you grabbed some tea, offering a cup to Jiang Cheng who gratefully accepted it.
"Is getting hurt also something that runs in your family?" You asked and he looked up, shrugging softly.
"I mean, you got hurt pretty often as well. My teacher healed you quite often." You joked and you could see the wheels turning in his head before it seemed to click.
"You were that girl always watching from the side?" He asked and you nodded, smiling brightly at the thought that he remembered you. You continued to talk and for the first time, he actually tried to hold up the conversation as well.
From then on, everything seemed to take a turn.
Jiang Cheng would greet you if he saw you and sometimes he would converse in conversation , but those conversations weren't very long most of the time. Sometimes his friends (especially Huaisang and Wuxian) were with him and they often gave you a smile, but you could see the twinkle in their eyes. Sometimes the other leaders were with him, Xichen and Guangyao often gave you a sweet smiles, and you couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy every time. Even their smile seemed to hide a certain mischief. You were well aware that they all knew by now, after all Wangji's blunt comments about 'you staring at Jiang Cheng like a puppy in love' (and Wuxian and Huaisang's snickering after said comment) usually did the trick.
Now, they would always approach you while dragging Jiang Cheng behind them. They would start a conversation, trying to get Jiang Cheng to join the conversation at all cost while trying to not make it obvious (and failing miserably in your opinion). Jiang Cheng didn't seem to notice however and just curtly answered the questions thrown his way. He didn't seem particularly happy when he was near you, frown permanently shown on his face as he stood near you as he waited to leave the conversation. It was something you were quite annoyed by. Not because of him, but rather the fact that he was forced to meet you by his friends. So you asked them to stop and they did, much to their annoyance.
But you did see him a few more times again, mostly for Jin Ling's checkups. He'd just sit in the corner, staring as you cleaned his nephew's wound.
"A-jiě?" Jin Ling spoke in a whisper and you glanced up to him, giving him a small nod.
"What is it?" You whispered back and he glanced at his uncle before getting a bit closer to you.
"Uncle is staring at you..." "Don't be ridiculous A-Ling." You said, flicking his forehead softly with a disapproving chuckle before continuing to clean his wound. The boy couldn't help but smile a bit, something you couldn't help but smile in return to. Seeing the boy smile was still something new and it didn't happen that often, so you were always happy when you did see him smile.
"I'm sure about it, a-jiě. He has that look in his eyes." Jin Ling said and you looked up again, hands freezing in place before you took a glance at Jiang Cheng as well. His gaze was focused to the two of you, but you suddenly did notice his eyes shifting to you every few seconds as they lingered on your form.
"Well, a-Ling. You might be right for once." You commented, a small smirk appearing on your face to which Jin Ling smiled again.
When you finished cleaning and rebandaging Jin Ling's leg, you asked Jiang Cheng to wait for a second while Jin Ling limped out.
"You know, Jin Ling told me something." You said and he looked at you in confusion, waiting for you to continue.
"He said you were staring at me. I don't think so.... Unless you were?" You teased, eyes moving to his figure and smiling slightly when you noticed how his ears had turned red slightly as he stared in front of him.
"I'll see you later, I have to collect some stuff." You said before walking off, leaving the man standing in front of your practice.
You didn't see him for a few days after that and you couldn't help but feel a bit weird about it. Nonetheless, you continued with your routines. Taking care of some of the younger disciplines, clean your practice and getting ready to have your practice raided by the junior quartet. The food that you had gotten was gone by the end, most of it by Jingyi, and that was even after you bought extra.
"I just went to the market and you already ate all of it?" You asked as you looked in the cabinet and Jingyi gave a cheeky smile as he ate the last candy, happily eating it.
"A-jiě, when are you and clan leader Jiang getting together?" He then asked, receiving a shove from Jin Ling before looking at Sizhui for help as he tried to block Jin Ling's attacks.
"A-Ling!" The boys paused and you sighed.
"If you're going to hit him, do it where no one sees." You commented and you saw betrayal flash in Jingyi's eyes while Jin Ling just smirked before he started pocking the elder in the ribs. You just shook your head at the two before continuing your stitching on Jin Ling's robe. Then you could suddenly hear shouting and frowned, laying down your work and peaking your head out of the door. You could see Wuxian walking around, Jiang Cheng hot on his heels with an annoyed look. You were then pulled back by Jin Ling.
"Don't tell them we're here..." He begged and you looked at them, all a bit afraid of the consequences of sneaking out, and you scoffed with a smile before nodding and walking out of the practice.
"What's wrong with you two?" You asked as you looked at both men, but only Wuxian stared your way.
"Have you seen Sizhui? Or the others?" He asked and you could hear he was quite concerned.
"Why, what happened?" You returned and Jiang Cheng stepped forward.
"Some disciplines say that they saw them being dragged off and Wuxian is paranoid." He said, receiving a glare from the other (which Jiang Cheng gladly returned).
"I'm sure they're fine, a-Xian." You said and he huffed.
"You two should get married, makes bullying me much easier." He grumbled and you rolled your eyes with a laugh while Jiang Cheng just rolled his eyes.
"Very funny. You're just not thinking rationally. We both just acknowledge that." Jiang Cheng said and Wuxian just huffed again.
"You two fit each other." And then he just walked off, leaving you and Jiang Cheng alone. You looked at him and found him already looking your way, ears red once more.
"Don't be too hard on him, he's just worried." You said and Jiang Cheng nodded shortly.
"Are you not?" "Jin Ling can defend himself, he'll be fine." He answered curtly and you flicked his head harshly, making the man flinch before looking at you in shock.
"That's your nephew, at least act like you care." You commented angrily before walking back to your practice, seeing 4 pair of eyes stare at you intently.
"What?" You asked and Jin Ling spoke up first.
"You and uncle sound like a married couple..." He said and you felt your face heat up at the comment. But then you saw the terror in their eyes and turned your head, Jiang Cheng standing in the doorway with a stoic expression.
"We'll be on our way then..." Sizhui commented before dragging the other 3 with him and past Jiang Cheng quickly before they all broke into a sprint.
"Bye, auntie." Jin Ling shouted and you saw Jiang Cheng frown as he watched his nephew run out with a smile before he turned back to you.
"You lied about seeing them." "I never said whether I saw them or not nor did anyone give me the chance to say it." You said as you sat down, grabbing Jin Ling's robe up again.
"Is that Jin Ling's?" "Yes, it is. He tripped again and it ripped, so I'm stitching it. You should buy him some new clothes, some have over 20 stitch-spots. I'm losing all my thread on these, I'm tempted to use a different color to make it noticeable." You joked and Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes again, grumbling something under his breath.
"What are you grumbling about? Asking yourself how you'd fallen for me?" You teased, watching his ears turn red again and you smiled again while looking back at the stitching. You looked up when he stayed quiet, seeing that the blush had reached his face and you frowned.
"You alright there?" You asked and he snapped out his trance and nodded coldly before he turned to leave.
"You're leaving?" You asked and he turned his head around to face you. "I mean, it's pretty boring here and you chased my previous company away before I could finish..." You said and you saw him sigh again before he sat on a chair a bit further from you. Even with his annoyed expression, you couldn't help but smile that he took your joke serious enough to stay. You continued your work, glancing at him ever so often as you tried to talk to him (not to much avail). You stopped, however, when you noticed that his eyes were closed and his head was falling down ever so often before he straightened himself up. You smiled and stood up, walking his way and crouching down before gently poking his shoulder. He woke up in and instant and you flinched with his sudden movement, surprised at how close his face was to yours now.
"You should go to your room to sleep, otherwise your neck will hurt." You said as you stood up again, pulling him up with you. It was clear that he was still somewhat sleepy, eyes almost threatening to fall shut again.
"Come one, get out." You laughed and he finally looked awake at the statement, blinking a few times before looking at you.
"I apologize-" "Ah, stop it. I invited you in, no need to be so formal." You interrupted him, which startled him slightly before he simply shut his mouth.
"Feel free to drop by again." You said and he nodded, but you stopped him just before he left.
"And I don't mean with Jin Ling."
If it Means to Remain by Your Side
From the list I posted yesterday, I'm gonna start with the Dan Heng x Reader MDZS inpsired fic first.
Characters and plot won’t be as accurate to the inspired plot. Especially for this story which involves a lot of adults and teens an not much children.  So many characters are left out simply due to the fact that a lot of npcs either didn’t fit the role, or were far too young for my standards.
I also ended up having to lean more onto the live action version than the novel/manhua version. Not all characters casted are exactly accurate too, as there are more traumatized than non-traumatized.
Cast
Dan Heng  - Lan zhan/Lan Wangji
Reader - Wei Ying/Wei Wuxian
Jing Yuan - Lan Xichen
Blade/Yingxing - Song Lan
March - Lan Jingyi
Yukong - Jian Yanli
Tingyun - Jin Guangyao
Jingliu - Xue Yang
Baiheng - Xiao Xingchen
Yanqing - Jin Ling
Ruan Mei _ Baoshan Sanren
Luocha - Jin Zixuan (Ik Yukong and him aren’t a ship, but it'll have to do as Honkai doesn’t really have a F and M implied relations. I mean the only ones that do are in a love triangle.)
Xueyi - Wen Ning
Hanya - Wen Qing
Qingque - Nie Huaisang
Diting - Fairy
Fu Xuan - Jiang Cheng
Guinaifen - Lan Sizhui/Lan Yuan (Again, not a ship as Yanqing is too fight frenzy of a kid to actually have a crush. I just think these two would pair well as friends)
Sushang - A-Qing
Setting/Sects
Luofu -- Gusu Lan
Dan Heng
Jing Yuan
March
Guinaifen (later half)
Yaoqing -- Qinghe Nie
Qingque
Zhuming -- Qishan Wen
Hanya
Xueyi
Guinaifen (first half
Yuque -- Lanling Jin
Yanqing & Fairy
Luocha
Tingyun
Fanghu -- Yunmeng Jiang
Reader
Fuxuan
Yukong
Misc.
Blade/Yingxing
Jingliu
Baiheng
Sushang
Huohuo
Ruan Mei
Xuling -- Burial Mounds
Reader (Mid-way)
Hanya (Mid-way)
Xueyi (Mid-way)
Guinafen (Mid-way)
I literally looked up all the different alliance of Xianzhou just to see which would be Wen sect. So here’s the reasoning.
Luofu: They don’t really have a specialty. Their main goal is to take out abundance cult.
Yaoqing: Much like Luofu, don’t really have a specialty. Aggressive and good at martial arts.
Zhuming: Their main export specialty is porcelain. According to Fandom wiki, the people here love playing with fire.
Yuque: They export jade abaci, thus making me think they’ll be wealthy due to it and technologically advanced/smart.
Fanghu: Exports a lot of marine things. Though it would make since to have Dan Heng come from here, but it would not make sense for other characters like March and Jing Yuan to have been born here. And it’s the closest in description to Yunmeng.
Xuling: Not much is really stated about this place on Fandom Wiki, but it looks like a place of law. But piggybacking off of the fact that not much is written about this area, Imma just gonna liken this area to Burial Mounds.
Idk why I stressed so much trying to make it 100% accurate 💀
My main source for these infos are from MDZS and Star Rail fandom wiki, so if inaccuracies occur, I apologize in advance for it.
Mu Qing x Reader: Stop Fucking With My Cat Part 4
-------------------------------------------------
Y/N stood bleary-eyed in front of the gates to Ling Wen's palace. A few of the early bird Heavenly Officials happily stood around talking to each other but Y/N absolutely wanted no part of it this early in the morning. She carefully kept her distance, not caring at all if the others found it rude. They were the rude ones for being so loud this early. Plus Mu Qing was also there in the very front of the line, though he wasn't really talking to anyone. Y/N wasn't really in the mood to get yelled at again. Last night Xie Lian had told her that Mu Qing's cultivation path valued purity over all else and that he probably hated her for putting that demonic collar on his cat. As if a collar that can allow cats to speak would turn a regular cat into a demon just because a demon wore it. But whatever, plenty of people didn't understand things like that. Besides, what pet owner in their right mind wouldn't want a pet that could talk back to them? It was a shame that the collar didn't work the way that Y/N wanted it to.
The crowd of waiting Heavenly Officials slowly grew larger as Y/N stole glances at Mu Qing. What a pain in the ass the entire thing was and yes, it was entirely her fault, but was it really /that/ bad? It's not like she was going to steal anything from his palace, and she had been playing with Echo for weeks. She only got bold enough to go into Mu Qing's garden because Echo would meow at her incessantly and walk back and forth until one day she followed him. He obviously wanted to play in the garden with her, and while they would always meet in front of Mu Qing's palace gates in the beginning it eventually became their ritual that Y/N would just go into the garden to find Echo whenever she passed by. It was like that cat had an extra sense and would come out meowing at her indignantly if she ever tried to pass by without saying hello. It was kind of weird actually, but also super cute. Y/N smiled and giggled to herself.
Unbeknownst to Y/N Mu Qing was also stealing glances at her. He frowned seeing her smile and giggle to herself. She didn't seem to feel guilty at all. Demonic cultivators were universally not morning people, preferring to operate at night and avoid the sun much like real demons. A side effect of their cultivation. But that explained why she was to the side underneath the shade of a tree even though she should be further up in line than she currently was. Several Heavenly Officials had already cut line in front of her. He tsked to himself. She was probably just trying to delay the inevitable. The doors to Ling Wen's palace finally opened and Mu Qing was the first to stroll inside. He rolled his eyes as he thought he would get his merits from her one way or another.
Y/N remained outside lost in thought, never realizing that the palace had finally opened. It wasn't until she felt a firm kick to her shin that she came back to reality with a startled frown and furrowed brows. The offender was none other than Mu Qing, who stood in front of her looming down with a cold expression. Y/N resisted the urge to slap him. He'd probably go crying to Ling Wen to make her owe even more merits to him. Instead she gave him a forced small smile and greeted him politely. "Good morning General Xuan Zhen."
"We have a mission together in the southeastern swamps." Y/N died on the inside but kept her expression blank.
"Oh, ok! What do we have to do?"
"There's a large village where an abnormal amount of children keep on disappearing into the swamps, never to be seen again. So far there have been 15 victims, all children old enough to know better than to wander too far. For some reason Ling Wen thinks that I need your help." Mu Qing rolled his eyes in disgust.
"She probably just wants you to train me." Y/N smiled and waved her hand in an attempt to placate him. "I am still rather new so she doesn't know exactly what I can and can't handle yet. Thank you for coming to assist me." Mu Qing rolled his eyes again. Obviously her attempt at flattery hadn't exactly hit the mark. Y/N was pretty sure that actually was the reason Ling Wen assigned them both to this mission but for some Mu Qing seemed to think otherwise. Y/N briefly wondered if maybe General Xuan Zhen wasn't as powerful as he was rumored to be, but quickly dismissed the thought. He must just have the habit of taking things the wrong way. With the length of time he has been in the Heaven's and the number of temples he has there is no way that General Xuan Zhen doesn't live up to his reputation. Humans are too fickle to continue to worship a God that doesn't deliver. "Well I'm ready when you are."
"Let's get this over with then." Mu Qing crossed his arms and scowled. He began to lead the way to the outskirts of heaven and Y/N followed quietly. Welp this is probably going to be a fun mission, Y/N thought as she silently rolled her eyes to herself.
What a bunch of bullshit, Mu Qing thought to himself as he paced ever faster to the outskirts. This brat owes me merits and yet I'm having to help her get them for me? What kind of sense does that even make? Fucking Ling Wen. He stopped abruptly at the end of the Heaven's and pointed downwards. "That is the place we are going." Y/N peered over the edge and confirmed the spot before jumping down. Mu Qing froze with his mouth agape and watched in horror as Y/N fell. Technically yes, that was one way to get down but what the fuck?! Heaven's help me, Mu Qing prayed desperately before drawing a teleportation array. He wasn't going to follow in that idiots path.
Mere seconds later Mu Qing appeared next to a bruised and battered Y/N who was laying like a dead person on the ground. Her robes were torn and dirty and bloody. "Have fun?" Mu Qing smirked. Y/N looked up at Mu Qing with an incredulous look. That bastard looked perfect! "We normally use teleportation arrays just so you know. No wonder Ling Wen wanted me to train you, but I'm afraid you might be untrainable since you apparently have no sense."
Y/N grunted as she struggled to right herself. Mu Qing merely watched her struggle with laughter in his eyes. What a gentleman, Y/N bitterly thought. After righting herself she examined the state of her robes. Her left sleeve had a long tear in it from getting caught on something during her descent and she had a few blood spatters from a shallow wound, but nothing too bad. Y/N was red from embarrassment. Xie Lian always jumped down from the Heaven's like that, he never told her that they could use teleportation arrays to descend! But she wasn't about to admit that to Mu Qing. "I'm alright, that was fun!" Y/N tried to sound like it actually was fun but she wasn't able to hide how bitter she actually was. Mu Qing snorted and began to walk away, leaving Y/N to painfully limp after him. Normally Mu Qing would be a bit more sympathetic but Y/N was a martial Goddess, she should be able to walk it off, plus she did it to herself. Like he expected after a few hundred yards Y/N's gait returned to normal and they quietly made their way to the village.
During her days as a cultivator Y/N became very used to striking up conversations with strangers to investigate incidents, so she was kind of miffed when Mu Qing cut her conversation with a middle aged street vendor selling radishes short and verbally ushered her along. As they made their way through the large village Mu Qing shut down every attempt she made to gather information. How were they supposed to solve these disappearances if she couldn't gather information? It was a struggle to keep her temper down. Even though Mu Qing was the leader of this mission and probably had a plan he didn't bother to inform her of them and Y/N was used to having free reign to do whatever she wanted. It would be one thing if he wanted to do the interrogating himself but he made no attempt to do so either. It felt to Y/N like they were goofing off on a stroll rather than taking their mission seriously. Y/N's mind went back to Mu Qing's previous comment 'For some reason Ling Wen thinks I need your help'. Maybe Mu Qing slacked off on missions and he did need her help to keep on track. It would make sense with the lie she told Ling Wen the day she first met Mu Qing. Y/N crossed her arms and sighed. She wasn't opposed to slacking off, but she also believed that they should do that /after/ they defeated whatever was plaguing this village. Lives were at stake, and more importantly the lives of innocent /children/ were at stake. She glared at Mu Qing, who apparently felt her disapproving stare because he turned around and glared right back at her. "What is your problem?" He demanded.
"When are we going to actually get started on this mission? We can look at the village after we defeat whatever is here. We need to start interrogating people here to figure out what is going on."
Mu Qing rolled his eyes. "We don't need to interrogate anyone. I have a temple here, all we need to do is go there and listen to the prayers from my followers for a while. It will be a lot more efficient than seeking out random people who may or may not know anything. My followers will naturally tell me everything that they know." Y/N's face lighted up at his explanation. Of course! She felt kind of bad for doubting him earlier. General Xuan Zhen was known to be very efficient.
"Oh! Where is your palace?"
"Not far from here." Mu Qing turned and continued to lead the way. They finally came to his palace on the outskirts of the village and Y/N was honestly kind of impressed. It was a very attractive looking palace and the statue inside looked exactly like him! Y/N herself didn't have any proper temples but instead numerous small shrines that people typically kept inside their homes for personal use. It was the way that demonic Gods and Goddesses were traditionally worshipped. Mu Qing commanded her to make herself invisible to mortals and Y/N complied. He sat himself down right in front of his statue, invisible to the eyes of mortals, and began listening to the numerous silent prayers of his worshippers. Y/N grew bored of standing there watching him so she began to wander around his temple, touching things that she probably shouldn't but they were all so pretty. Offerings of gold, incense and fruit filled this temple. Y/N was kind of jealous. His worshippers here even gave him pets that the temple housed and cared for, and once finding that Y/N didn't leave the area until Mu Qing came to find her. She was petting a pretty brown tabby cat when Mu Qing kneeled down and completely stole the attention of the cat. To mortal onlookers the cat probably looked like it was doing typical weird cat things, and a couple thought that the cat must be asking for pets and came to pet the cat as well, not knowing that their God was right there petting it with them. While petting the cat Mu Qing filled Y/N in on what he had discovered. The children who had went missing only had 3 things in common. They were all from impoverished families, they all loved the swamp, and they all disappeared somewhere in the north end. With this information they finally knew where to start looking!
