hellooo very cool person I am just now getting into the atla fandom and I know Nothing other than your fics are very cool and great and I was wondering if you have any recs (or links to posts with recs!!) bc I trust your judgment LOL
I hope this is ok to ask!! also I will add that I am not that picky but I will add that I am very much a longfic enjoyer so🫶🫶
My friend, may I open up to you the broad world of clicking an AO3 user's bookmarks. <3
AKA: literally click any ao3 username, "bookmarks" should appear towards the top of the resulting page. You can then voyage into the additionally wonderful waters of filtering by length, "recommended", fandom, etc.
Also: if the fic you like is in collections, try checking them out, especially if the title appeals to you. Can be a great way to find essentially a fic playlist.
Anyway all hail ao3's designers they done good work
#Oh for an internet designed purely by people for people#Not by people who want money for people who are about to have less money#AO3 you are a light onto my days#In other but thematically related news I'm researching the switch to Linux#Because new laptop came with Windows 11 and if I need to learn command line edits to get this functional#(read: not actively hostile)#I might as well finally make the switch to the computer system not designed to maximize my suffering#Reading their list of recommended programs was hilarious because I literally use all of them instead of the Windows ones already#Go go free and open programs go#ao3

But I reserved a time in a day to practice every day, some days are good and I can produced more than I expected, and some days is just learning about concepts, doing reviews and not exactly be a Google mostly incredible Software Engineer. The place on my pictures is Igarata based on São Paulo, Brazil. It was a very fun sunday and just by the end of the afternoon and make some changes to my Kafka project (After swimming and surf a lot by morning).

Which course is best for Linux administrator?

For someone looking to become a Linux learning administrator, it's essential to acquire a solid understanding of Linux systems, system administration, and related tools. Here are some courses and certifications that are highly regarded and can help you on your path to becoming a Linux administrator:
Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Certification: LPI offers several certifications, including the LPIC-1, LPIC-2, and LPIC-3, which are recognized globally and highly respected in the Linux industry. LPIC-1 is a good starting point for those new to Linux administration.
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA): Offered by Red Hat, this certification is well-regarded in the industry. It focuses on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and is an excellent choice if you plan to work in an enterprise environment that uses RHEL.
CompTIA Linux+: This certification covers essential Linux skills and is vendor-neutral. It's a good choice if you want a broader understanding of Linux without focusing on a specific distribution.
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA): Kubernetes is a critical technology for container orchestration, and many Linux administrators work with it. The CKA certification, offered by the Linux Foundation, is valuable for Linux administrators working with containerized applications.
Linux System Administration Courses (Various): Many online platforms and educational institutions offer Linux system administration courses. Look for courses that cover topics such as Linux installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and troubleshooting.
Hands-On Practice: While not a formal course or certification, hands-on experience is crucial for becoming a proficient Linux administrator. Consider setting up your own Linux server, experimenting with various distributions, and tackling real-world tasks.

when selecting a new laptop, I wanted to play Sonic Colors Ultimate. I didn't have enough storage on my old computer, but I've had it for too long to refund it, so I at least want to play it once. I looked for this laptop with the minimum specs required for Sonic Colors Ultimate in mind.
fucking hell.
#I'm not installing another operating system. it's not happening. linux mint is the only one I'm going to run on this computer.#but that only leaves me with two options: either repurpose my old computer specifically for sonic colors ultimate#or learn how to run a virtual machine#I'm not even sure which one is more practical. I just know that I'm very frustrated right now.

System update and all that...
I have the strong feeling that if I don't update from Windows 7 very soon, I'm getting a strong ass malware lol.
Windows 11 is known for pink soup and crashes, but I will still need to install it for uni and work.
Windows 10 is already obsolete, so I don't want to go for that because in a few years I'm going to be in the same situation again.
Linux Mint refuses to dual boot with Windows. I had to unplug its SSD.
Kubuntu does allow dual booting, but SimPE refuses to work on it for me, and I really need it.
I've seen some tech-savvy users recommend Fedora (@brandinotbroke in particular comes to my mind!) but have we got our tools (SimPE etc) to work on it? is it a good distro for Linux beginners, in your opinion?
I could just disconnect my w7 from the internet but I need it for mods and cc making. :(
Tech deities of simblr, what do you recommend for me? What is a distro that I can use well with Sims 2 and its tools, that can still dual boot with Windows?
....... I should also mention that both Mint and Kubuntu caused audio buzzing 😭 if you have tips on that I'll be eternally grateful !!!!!
#....... help. I'm lost 😭#linux simming#xwp talks#genuinely like Mint ran so well from live usb. no buzzing no malfunctioning#as soon as it was installed the buzzing started again#plus it somehow ate the grub menu and I can't boot into Kubuntu anymore.....#I'm too much of a noob for this stuff but I really want to learn
