Ive been looking for a system term to describe myself for a while, and decided fuck it we ball and made one myself

A lockhost is an alter in a system that seems to be the 'main' host, and is almost always fronting. They may also decribe themself as 'front-locked' or 'front sticky,' but this may not always be the case. They may be able to leave front or the front area, but are usually aware of whats going on with front anyways, and they are quite often pulled back to front within a short period of time. Because of this, they usually become the bodies 'main identity' in a system.

Other alters may use the identity of the lockhost as a mask in the case that they do not want to show themself, and may also interact with or control the body via the lockhost. In the case of a lockhost being an introject, it would not be uncommon for several doubles of the lockhosts source to also be present in the system.

Lockhosts may also act similarly to 'Observers,' in that they are always aware of the body to some degree, and can quickly be pulled to front in the case that they happen to not be fronting in the traditional sense. The lockhost may also serve many other roles in the system, but not always.

In the case of a lockhost also being part of a subsystem or side system, they may or may not be a lockhost of those as well.

oftentimes, you guys seem to be co-conscious with multiple at once o-o i dont remember if you've mentioned this, so i apologize if i missed it!! but do you guys have a frontroom? what are the co-conscious headmates usually doing in the background?

also, do y'all switch? or are you perhaps a proxy system? :o

hi nova !! awesome question, i don't think we've ever actually talked about this before

so, our host (helios) is also our core. xe is constantly in front and we used to refer to xem as a lockhost(?), but we don't ever seem to fully switch so we do think we're a proxy system, although we do experience non-possessive switches it seems? people in co-con influence front and influence helios so id think that's what that would be

we Do have a frontroom, but it's hard to visualize and usually just looks like a black void to us, contrary to the headspace we've been trying to build (which is a large manor). usually we can't See each other in the front room, only vaguely, but we can feel. for example, berri, a syspet hedgehog, likes to be in helios' hands in the frontroom, so xe will sort of phantom feel him in the frontroom even though xe cant entirely see him

does any of this make sense? i hope so LMFAO

im definitely not a professional in this field but i will Try my best to answer

in my own experience i can have headmates that definitely cofront with me, more than actually switching out due to being lockhost/frontstuck

there might be a different term to use if you experience durations of time where you feel more polycon than monocon, but you can use whatever label you feel fit. labels are to decorate the house, not build the foundation ^w^

per my understanding i would say that sounds a lot like a monoconsious system, but i would definitely see if there might be a label that could fit your experiences more closely, but you can still definitely use the monocon label!!

Yes wehave a host , a frontstuck lockhost who doesn't ever change. For us host is just me, it's always been me and it will always be me. I'm the "core" I guess. The guy who has been here since birth and who was alone till the rest of the system formed.

What's your favourite part of being plural?

Hmm, gotta say the company really; we're never alone, so are rarely lonely :)) The constant chatter makes for good background noise, too, most of the time. Also the friends and family in-sys!! I'm good friends with most of the guys, and I know a couple of em who consider each other "brothers from another mother", ironically (shoutout Scottie and Mike, you guys are cool af).

2. How does your system make important collective decisions?

Most of the time, for most things, like haircuts and colour, I'll chat to the frequent fronters before making a decision. For smaller things though, I'll handle it myself. Being the lockhost, we've sort of agreed I have a little more authority than most over really important decisions (though Tyler thinks otherwise).
