Kristen Arknights is giving me brainworms this cannot continue
Before Lone Trail, I was really convinced that "ah yeah so she's really evil", like what, she approved and conducted the Diabolic Experiment? She approved the experiment at Site #359 and was probably looking at the giant Hub from her window, presumably while eating popcorns, and when Saria arrived to scream at her "WHAT THE FUCK" Kristen just replied "Oh hey I knew you would solve it"? She also funded Loken's Watertank and collected his data on children experiments after he got arrested??
Any sane person would be calling her an egoist, a betrayer, a seeker, a loner
And yet, she was a pioneer.
Lone Trail dropped and now, I don't even know what to think anymore of this character. Like I don't approve what she has done, but also, I don't hate her. She put me into a state of mind I can't think straight anymore. This dog is TRULY fucked up.
She was obsessed, truly obsessed by her dream. She wanted to achieve what her parents had failed to do. She wanted to honor her family, to prove something to the world. To find the truth. To break the sky.
And she fucking did it. She absolutely did. She achieved it, she had done what nobody has ever done before. Regardless of the methods, regardless of morals and ethics, what she did was HUGE. That night, everyone on Terra looked up at the sky. She made a huge step forward, she revolutioned and changed things. The moment she pierced the starpod, a page in the history of the world had been turned, a new era has started. This event was major. And countless scientists will look up upon her, and for ages, her name will be praised.
And she did at what cost? Everything. Her own life, her friends.
I can't stop thinking about how much she tried to keep Saria away from her. I thought that Kristen was using Saria, that she didn't care about her, but actually it's... Something else. She does care about Saria, but it's Saria who was completely obsessed with Kristen. It's Saria who refused to let go. Of course, Saria devoted her life to protect Kristen, she wanted to stay with her until the very end. Kristen did not wanted it, she wanted Saria to continue to live on. It's her dream, and she's ready to die to achieve it. Not Saria's. Nor Muelsyse's.
I can't stop thinking about how she tried EVERYTHING to stop Saria. She studied her Arts, found ways to supress them, created Power Armors to neutralize them, she showed coldness to Saria to keep her away. But god, Saria was clingy as hell. If Kristen had to get to install a trap door in her spaceship SPECIFICALLY for Saria, that's to say how much Saria did not want to let go.
Saria was ready to die for Kristen, she was ready to stay with her until the very end. But Kristen always had in mind to go alone.
And in the end, she had to show Saria that she deserves to live, to continue, that there's still people who need her. Rhine Lab needs her. Ifrit needs her. Silence needs her. Rhodes Island needs her. She can't join Kristen like that. She can't die yet.
Even if Kristen was obsessed by her dream, she was still able to care enough for Saria and the people around her.
And god fucking damn I'm crying
Kristen is absolutely the best antagonist of all Arknights there's absolutely no way we can't do better, I'm standing on my ground

like it’s the last time
she has her mind made up; you are left wishing to understand
Natasha Romanoff x Taskmaster!Reader
3800 words
a/n: future parts would have more action if i decide to keep writing :)
You wrap your arms around her backside and pull her in even closer. “Not all of them,” you whisper. “Just the especially annoying ones.”
“Asshole,” she curses before capturing your lips in hers again.
You arrive outside of the door with slight apprehension lining your palms. You don’t bother knocking, she sent the message to you after all; there is no need to announce your presence. Instead you sink against the wall opposite the door, tracing the cracks in the wood and noting the rusted numbers that identify the room. It’s some run down apartment on the outskirts of Berlin. You can still feel the chill from the winter winds trying to leave your face and hands. You’d risked a lot just to get here, there had been no time to acquire proper winter clothes after finishing your job down south. The building certainly provides shelter from the outside, but you’d also guess the heating system isn’t on full blast. Still, out of all of the circumstances you’ve found yourself in, this would be far from the worst.
The door opposite you creaks open and you quickly enter, not stopping to greet her in the doorway. Not stopping until you hear it shut and latch behind you. There’s a small window on the far side of the room taped over with newspapers - for privacy or insulation you don’t know. Probably both. You stare at it contemplatively for a moment as if you could see the entire city outside.
Finally you turn around and stare at her instead. She looks tired. You know you look tired too, it’s impossible not to unless you hide it. But she looks more than tired; she looks defeated. It scares you - no, fear is for the weak and you are not. It shocks you to see her like this. She’s dull like she hasn’t slept in days and her eyes are red rimmed in a way as if she’d been crying, but you quickly dismiss the possibility. What she can more easily control is perfect however. Her red hair is neatly braided and her clothes are clean. The small apartment is spotless, only a packed bag laying near the door. The lone sheet covering the mattress on the ground is perfectly straightened and tucked.
“Why am I here?” You ask. It had only been a few weeks since you’d last had contact when you received her message, a much quicker turnaround than usual. It was a ballsy move on her part, and an even more dangerous one for you to act on it, but you assumed it must be important. She must have vital information - that’s why you came. Not because you care about her, and definitely not because you just wanted to see her even if she were to just slap you and leave.
“I’ve noticed various SHIELD agents tailing me for the past six months,” she starts, letting a heavy breath go after like it was a relief to finally speak. SHIELD, American covert intelligence apparatus.
“That’s it?” You trail off. SHIELD shouldn’t be a problem worthy of a personal meeting like this. She should know better, no you should know better. You shouldn’t have come, you’d let feelings and weakness dictate your actions. You need to cut yourself off from this - from her - now. “Don’t reach out again unless it’s important. You should know better,” you say as you stride out to leave. The sound of your boots on the floor is louder and angrier than it should be. Something like regret pools in the back of your mind, but you’re quick to shut it down.
“Wait.” She stops you with a hand on your chest as you brush past her. Her hand is warm, you can feel it on your skin through the cotton of your shirt and if you let yourself you’re sure you’d feel it all the way to your heart. Her touch is light, presenting a plea rather than preceding a fight. You could ignore her and she wouldn’t move another inch to stop you. You freeze anyway, throwing your head back and pursing your lips up at the discolored ceiling. A cacophony of voices stir in the back of your head. You can hear each one as if they’re standing right behind you, demanding you move on, threatening what will happen if you defy them. You stiffen beneath her hand. You have to go now. You have to go now or they’ll know and you’ll pay. She’ll pay too. This is the only way.
“Please, just listen to me,” she whispers as if she can see the battle in your mind, like she’s predicting your exit. Her words cut above the all too real demons that scream for you to listen to them. They scatter beneath the sound of her voice and you stay. Silently you bow your head and trek back across the room to sit at the only chair in the apartment. It’s small like it was made for children and the table it occupies is a white card table that’s stained black and brown almost beyond recognition.
“Okay,” you sigh. “Okay, I’m here.”
“When I noticed they were still tagging me after the third location change I broke into the safe house the agent was staying at. They were building a file on me. Movements, appearance, habits, every damn detail they could get their hands on.” She’s still standing across the room from you near the door. Her arms are crossed and she refuses to look directly at you. She mutters the words low and you have to strain a bit to hear.
“Did you burn it? Capture the agent and send him back with his fucking tail between his legs?” You’re beginning to get frustrated, at SHIELD for thinking they can fuck with her. At her for letting them.
“Will you just let me finish?” She finally looks up at you, raising her voice slightly and piercing you under her gaze.
“You’re right. Sorry.” You hope the shame you feel burning your cheeks isn’t so detectable in your words.
“I let them keep coming. Every time I made one I broke into wherever they were holed up at, read the intel, and left. They never noticed. About a month ago, I finally found the reason they were tracking me.” She takes a breath now, meeting your eyes as you sit passively. You’ve made a point to be perfectly silent and still, even though you’re dying to comment. “They’re planning an assassination op with me as the target.” It confuses you, why the words seem to hang heavy in the air. Surely she wasn’t scared of a few Americans coming after her. Maybe she was here for your help in knocking SHIELD so far down the pole they wouldn’t dare mess with the SVR again. Her next words blow any sort of theory you had straight to hell.
“Tomorrow I leave for Moscow. I have orders to take out a statesman who’s been a little too sympathetic to the West. They want it messy and public. I have reason to believe SHIELD will try and intercept me as a counter-mission to my own.” Another pause, you can feel the way your skin tingles from the emotion in her voice. You hate it. “When they come for me I’m not going to fight. I’m going to let them kill me.” Her words ring in your ears. The finality of her tone doesn’t make sense with what you know to be true about her. Now it’s your turn to avoid looking up. She can’t do this, quitting was never an option. The sound of your name first breaks you from your spiral. “Are you going to say anything?”
“I don’t understand,” you say carefully. “Why? This is irrational Natalia, this is unbelievable. Tell me you’re lying.”
“I knew you were going to react like this. I knew-”
“Like what?” You challenge. “Like a normal fucking person? Do you even hear yourself?” You’re not yelling. You know she won’t listen if you do and you have to make her listen. You have to make her understand.
“I can’t go on like this.” She punctuates her words with your name. “This is wrong. For a long time I thought survival was the most important thing, but you have to look bigger. You have to understand that the world is so much bigger than us, than Russia, than the fight. All we ever do is hurt people and the longer I’m here the worse off so many people are. I’m not asking you to come with me. In fact I hope you don’t. I just wanted to say goodbye.” The message is mostly lost on you. All you hear is justification for weakness, for giving up. There’s no one here to stop her this time. No guards or teachers or gates. No one except you. The burden of keeping her here is on your shoulders now.
“You can’t do this. I get it, it's hard, but we fight to make the world better.”
“Bullshit.” It’s her turn to interrupt. “You can’t actually believe we’re in the right here?”
“Yes, I do.” You nod your head in certainty. “This world is full of chaos and greed and we bring order and balance. We are taking the hard road, but we are bringing about a new age. You can’t just tap out because you feel bad about it.” Suddenly you don’t feel the cold so much. You want to fight.
“The hard road. Is that what you call mass murder and bombings and assassinations? It’s not right.” She shakes her head disbelievingly. “All we are doing is hurting people. Our accomplishments are dripping in red. Now that I’ve seen the world away from the academy I finally understand.”
“I’ve been out there too, and you know what I’ve seen? Exactly what they used to warn us about. Slimy politicians who can’t keep their hands to themselves, reckless power-hungry leaders that drive their communities into the dirt. We take them off the board once and for all.”
“We’re not fixing anything. All we are to them are tools, and that makes me sick. I’m done being used to spread hatred and violence. Every time we move it’s only because it gives them more power, more control. They don’t care anymore than you think the other side does. It’s all selfish. You can’t tell me that it’s all for some greater purpose.”
“Individuals cannot be trusted to rule alone. They are too easily swayed by their own self-interests. They need reminders from time to time of what real power is. We provide those. Fear and pain are necessary evils, you know this.” You think about the day you truly learned of the depravity of the human spirit. A violent shudder twinges down your spine.
“You sound like him,” she says. The words are fueled with disappointment and frustration, pushed out in one quick exhale, but you catch them.
“I do not sound like that man.” You scoff. “Don’t compare me to General Dreykov.”
“Then tell me why you are loyal to him, Taskmaster. Tell me why you follow his command like a dog and believe his words like gospel.” She steps closer to you, close enough where you can smell the clean scent of a recent shower, but not so close you could touch her.
“Just because he’s right doesn’t make me loyal to him.” You stand up and face her, the force from it knocks the chair back. The metal legs scrape against the already scratched up floor.
“But you can’t deny that you fight under him. That you help him take more innocent lives and corrupt them like he did us.”
“We are not corrupted. He made us strong. Whether you want to admit it or not, we're better off from it.” You pause, contemplating what you want to say next. Just thinking about it used to be enough to send shivers down your spine and have you looking over your shoulder for days. It’s treasonous, blasphemous, and you’re about to breathe life into the idea. “It doesn’t matter anyway. Because I’m going to kill him.” You push it out in one hurried breath. It will be damn hard, but you’re determined to end the man at the top. Even if it’s the last thing you do.
“You? You’re going to kill Dreykov?” She asks, incredulous. You nod your head evenly, once. The disbelief on her face makes you falter. “And then what? What’s your big plan for after you kill him?”
“I will take his place.” Just the thought of acquiring that kind of power shoots tingles through your spine and out through the tips of your fingers. It feels close, and the pull is enticing.
“Now who sounds insane? There is no beating them, and if you were to, you’d just end up even worse than he is.” She takes a slow breath. “Please. I can’t watch you follow in his footsteps.”
“I won’t be like him. I’m not cruel like him, remember. I will cut the Red Room out if that’s what you’re worried about. I won’t need to depend on disloyal soldiers. Dreykov’s empire will belong to me and if anyone forgets I will remind them myself. I’m not a coward like he is.”
“I know, I know. What scares me is what you could do with his station. Because I know you, you can do anything you put your mind to and I admire that so much. But it also scares me.”
“Then stay for now. When the time is right we can overthrow him together and the both of us can rule. The world is ours to take.” You drop your voice in an attempt to further convince her. “We can make our own way. We would be unstoppable.”
“No we can’t. We can’t. He is unreachable and even if we did manage it there are a dozen others waiting to take his place. You have to stop, please.” She drags a hand down her face in exasperation.
“Come on Romanova. You’re the fucking Black Widow, act like it,” you snap. You don’t understand why she would pass on this kind of power. Probably because she is still sane. “You’re a legend, a ghost story, the most powerful weapon that Russia has ever seen.” You turn your back to her and face the window again. “To fall to SHIELD would be a disgrace to the Soviet ways. Your name will be spoken only as an example of failure to the next generations.”
“Fuck you. I didn’t come here to argue,” she says. There’s hardly any fight left in the way she speaks. “I just wanted to say goodbye, and I’m sorry.” She’s so close you can still hear her even as she trails off in a whisper. You feel her hand on your shoulder and try not to stiffen at the contact. Your whole back tenses up anyway.
You turn around ready to spit back, but before you can speak you feel her lips crash into yours. Instinctively you reciprocate the action, dipping your chin to mold your lips better against hers. It’s so intense it’s dizzying and you desperately breathe in as much of her as you can. It’s another moment before your brain catches up with your body and you pull away sharply, gripping her shoulders and holding her back at arms length. It’s impossible to keep the conflict off of your face, especially when you see the hurt look on hers.
“Please. I need to feel you one last time.” She murmurs the words quietly, like any louder and she would break. The furrow in her brow, the love in her eyes is almost too much. Part of you wants to push her away and leave to protect yourself, but another part won’t let you. The other part just longs to be with her; to hold her and ease her pain, to nurse the weakness in your heart.
You pull her forward and capture her lips in yours, moving your hands up to cup her cheeks. The suddenness of your movements causes her to let out a small gasp as her hands reflexively grip your hips. You can feel your heart pick up speed as your blood flows hot in your veins and your cheeks warm. She is like a drug you can never get enough of. If you had it your way you’d hold tight and never let go. Her hands snake their way up under your shirt. They’re cold on your chest and torso, but you can’t bring yourself to care. She pulls back a fraction and you move forward in time. You can’t lose this. She shakes her head a little and you feel her mouth curve into a smile as she breaks the connection ever so slightly.
“Shirt, off,” she murmurs into your lips. You can practically feel the words reverberate in your mouth. She tastes intoxicating. You scramble to pull your shirt off and then help her with hers.
“Now I’m cold,” you complain, pausing to press your forehead against hers.
“Well, I think I’m more than capable of helping you fix that.” She has that slight smirk on her face and a teasing glint in her eyes that used to drive you crazy. Now you swear you could spend hours just trying to memorize it. She presses a kiss to your collarbone, and another on your neck, and another along your jaw.
“Wait, wait.” You gently push her away.
“What?” She slyly uses one hand to tug at your belt, lingering a little too long as she pulls at your zipper.
“Just, ease up for a second Talia.” It takes all of your strength to ignore the way your body buzzes all over, the way it craves more.
“Why? What’s going on?”
“Nothing. I just - you’re the most beautiful woman to ever walk this planet.” You hope she knows how much you mean it.
“Is that what you tell all the girls Casanova?” She’s pushed up on her toes to whisper in your ear. “Answer wisely,” she taunts.
You wrap your arms around her backside and pull her in even closer. “Not all of them,” you whisper. “Just the especially annoying ones.”
“Asshole,” she curses before capturing your lips in hers again.
She tangles her arms around your neck and you lift her so she can wrap her legs around your hips. You move over to the mattress in the corner of the room and gently lay her down.
If you let yourself stop for even a moment you might think about how this is the last time you’ll ever see her. So you don’t. All you know is that tonight is about to make all the things you’ve ever done worth it, because tonight you feel free.
—--
You wake with her in your arms, red hair splayed all across her neck and shoulders. The sun hasn’t started to rise, the room is as dark as it was when you arrived last night. You think for a moment about staying, of going with her into the darkness, but a looming sense of duty keeps you from it. You know she’ll wake as soon as you move, you just hope she doesn’t get up too. You know if you lay there a second longer you’ll never recover, so you push up and stand. Immediately, the cold wraps its numbing grip around you. It makes the pain of leaving her so much more. Semi-blindly you find your clothes and tug them back on, picking your bag up along the way. She still hasn’t moved a muscle and her breathing remains even despite both of you knowing she’s awake. Your minds have been made up and she doesn’t want to taint this bliss with final words of loss and bitterness. You don’t blame her, there’s a reason you haven’t spoken either.
Reluctantly you walk toward the door, coming to grip the handle harsher than you should be. You almost rip the door off its hinges with how forcefully you open it. You stand there for a final moment, feeling each drop of despair that pools in your heart. You have to snap out of it. “Goodbye Natalia,” you say, quickly stepping out into the hall and shutting the door behind you.
You walk out of the building and into the cold, wind-stricken morning air. The city has yet to wake. Even the birds and squirrels have deemed it too early to stir. You feel so lost and alone. More so than you have since you were small. This is better, you think. You don’t need anyone. You’ve already done more in this life than most could ever simply hope to achieve and you’re not done yet. But, there’s no harm in taking an extra few minutes.
You duck into an alleyway and climb up onto a dumpster hidden in the back. From there the adjacent rooftop is low enough that you can reach the edge if you jump. You barely catch yourself on the ledge and it takes a decent amount of power to pull yourself all the way up onto the roof. Immediately the wind picks up and ruffles your hair. You shiver slightly before dropping down onto your stomach and laying completely flush against the rooftop. You have a full view of the street, including far enough downwind where you can see the back entrance of the building you just left.
The street lights buzz onward into the morning hours. It will still be a few more before the sun begins to bring about proper daytime. A lone window illuminates farther up the intersection. You think about the person inside, tired and stiff from a full night’s rest, eyes struggling to adjust to the bright artificial light. Then you think about how easy it would be to end their life.
The door you’re watching swings open. A woman exits halfway, swinging her head to the right, the left, and the right again. There isn’t enough light to perceive color from this far away, but you know her hair is red. You know her eyes harbor both the green of the deep forests and of the shining seas. And above all you know you’ll miss her. She lets the door close behind her and walks left towards the left, towards the train station, away from where you lay to the right.
Exactly two more minutes tick by before you stand. You take a moment to warm up your muscles before jumping from the roof to the ground in one practiced move. Then you take off running. You run the opposite direction from her, your backpack thumping against your back despite the straps being pulled tight.
You don’t know where you’re going. For now you have nowhere to go. All you know is that you’re going alone.

It took four of them, one under each arm, one leading the way and making sure the route was clear of hazards, and one following behind just in case he lost his balance. It took four of them and exactly twenty-six minutes to get Buck from Eddie’s truck where he had stopped it in the disabled parking spot right next to the pier, and to the spot Chris had chosen on the beach.
But it was worth it.
Eddie and Bobby had taken the spots under Buck’s arms, both being relatively equal in height, and supported the man’s weight as he hopped across the sand, his casted leg held out in front of him as Hen took the lead, yelling instructions to running children to clear a path, and Chimney had trailed behind, ready to catch Buck if he lost his balance and slipped from Bobby and Eddie’s grip.
They were sweaty and out of breath by the time they lowed Buck onto the blanket that Maddie had laid out ready for him.
But it was worth it.
It was worth it because Buck is laughing. Buck is laughing and the sunset is shining upon his skin, the sea breeze ruffling his curls and he looks more alive than he has in the past two weeks.
Two weeks of being stuck sleeping on the couch in his brand new loft, unable to even make it up the stairs to his bed. Two weeks of being sad and lonely because they all still have to work. Two weeks of fearing that his career as a firefighter is over.
Eddie drops in when he can, in between shifts and picking up Christopher from school, but he doesn’t feel like it’s enough. His friend is suffering.
He had stopped by the day before, going straight from shift end, and had found Buck in the same clothes he had seen the man in two days previously, surrounded by take-out cartons and crying over an ASPCA advert on the TV.
Eddie had known then that he needed to do something.
So he had called Bobby, then Maddie, then fired a series of instructions to a new group chat, one he didn’t add Buck to. They had the next day off and Buck needed them.
It was Chris who had come up with the idea, the kid constantly still able to surprise Eddie with his compassion for others.
“Buck loves the beach, Dad, we should take him there,” Chris had crowed through a mouthful of pancakes and the sheer excitement on his face had prevented Eddie from telling him no to talk with his mouth full. “We can build sandcastles and paddle in the water!
“Buck’s not gonna be able to go in the water, bud, he can’t get his cast wet.”
“Okay, but he can still build a sand castle, right?”
He can. Buck’s castle is immense, it had turrets and a moat, and he’s working on a bridge when Chris brings him another bucket of water, some sloshing over the rim as he navigates the uneven ground.
“Thanks, Chris!” Buck grins, taking the bucket and scooping some water into his hand and pouring it over the pile of sand he’s attempting to mold. He finishes the drawbridge and wipes his sandy hands on his shorts and Eddie is sure he’s getting sand in the top of his cast but Buck doesn’t seem to care.
It was worth it.
Endless Tupperware’s full of food are laid out, everyone having prepared something, and Eddie piles some onto three plates, setting one down next to Buck and poking his shoulder to let him know it’s there. He receives a warm smile of thanks before Buck turns his focus back to Christopher and the castle and Eddie watches fondly as the two of them chatter away about the medieval castles of England that Chris has just been learning about in school.
When his son starts to tuck into his own food Eddie presses Buck’s plate into his hand. “Having fun?” He asks and Buck looks at him like he’s grown an extra head.
“Am I having — Eddie, this had been the best day of my life.” He says it with such sincerity that it doesn’t sound even remotely corny.
“Good.” They eat in silence for a few minutes, watching Denny, Harry, and May splashing each other in the sea.
“Daddy, can I go swim?” Christopher asks and before Eddie can answer Carla is on her feet, holding out a hand to help him up.
“I got him,” She winks conspiratorially at him. “You two just relax.” She keeps hold of his hand until they reach the shore, switching out with Denny and Harry who wade out of the water to each take a hand and help Chris to move forward until the water is lapping at his kneecaps. Eddie knows he doesn’t need to warn him not to go any deeper.
“Thank you.” Eddie turns to find Buck looking at him, his face the most relaxed he’s probably ever seen it.
“It was Christopher’s idea,” He explains, his son deserving all of the credit. “He said you told him once that you love the ocean.”
“I do, I don’t know, it’s like, endless possibilities,” Buck sighs and turns his eyes back out to the horizon. “The ocean can take you literally anywhere you want to go and we know so little about it. We know more about space than we do the depths of the ocean.”
“The great unknown,” Eddie concludes.
Buck turns to him again and looks him right in the eye. “Yeah.” He smiles.
It was worth it.
Later, when they’re sunburnt, sandy, and exhausted from hauling Buck back to the truck and getting him back to his apartment, it will still be worth it. Because when Eddie leaves, after making sure Buck is fed, watered, and as comfortable as he can be on his temporary bed, Buck is still smiling.

Low Power Condition
A Witch finds her magic failing and must turn to her dolls for an answer. CW: mild threats, D/s themes, dissocation/plurality
"Do you know why I've gathered you all here today?" the Witch began, a menacing look in her face. She looked her cadre of dolls up and down. "Something is wrong, and I suspect one of you is doing it."
The Witch continued, "For three weeks now, my power keeps fizzling out. Runes rendered ineffective, spells unable to be completed, rituals ending in emptiness."
The dolls glanced at each other anxiously. Not one seemed to want to respond.
"Well? Don't make me punish all of you for the failings of one!" bellowed the Witch.
One doll had a tear in its eye and started speaking, "Miss… This one doesn't mean to, …" before trailing off.
"You! Stay right where you are; the rest of you can leave," replied the Witch.
One by one the dolls filed out, until one lone doll remained, trembling slightly, eyes downturned, breathing shallow.
The Witch looked sternly at the remaining doll and said, more softly, "You need to tell me what's going on. Right now."
"This one isn't sure… there's this cloudiness, a sense of commotion in its mind, and…" the doll mumbled.
"Bare yourself to me," came the command.
The doll moved to start removing its adorable outfit---
"No. Not that." The Witch clarified, "You know what I mean. Your mind isn't bared to me, and I don't think it's been for some time."
She stepped towards the doll and gently laid her hand on its hand. "Relax," said the Witch, "and let me see your truth."
The doll started to relax… The Witch's mouth gaped open in amazement.
"You did not disclose this to me, when you agreed to disclose everything and be known fully by me, in order to become one of my dolls."
"This one is sorry, there was some magic at play. This one couldn't seem to speak about it."
The Witch looked slightly puzzled, her brow furrowed. "I've never myself encountered this with a doll before, but I've heard of it. You have another self, and the other self… has magic."
"This one was vaguely aware of that situation, but couldn't seem to disclose it before." The doll began crying hard, managing to say in between gasps, "This one is so sorry, please do not punish it, there was magic, and, and---"
"Silence! Be Still, little one," came the stern voice. "There is a way out of this mess yet. But I need to speak to the one with magic."
The doll blinked its eyes several times, then stood up very straight. "What do you want?" came a strange voice.
The Witch, "Who are you, and why are you in my doll?"
The voice replied, "I am Agatha, the Witch of the Nine Runes. And you must be Mira, the other Witch." Agatha continued, "I was summoned into this doll many years ago, when it was still only a doll on the outside, before you transformed its outsides. It cried out with all its being for a Witch and had found none to answer its call, until it pulled me back to the living world."
Mira's eyes grew wide and she replied, slightly shaken, "This would explain a lot. This doll has always given a bit of trouble. But my magic only started to fizzle out recently, which I don't understand."
Agatha spoke, "When you transformed this doll's body, I went dormant." She continued, her strange voice still emanating from the doll's mouth, "But I had too much power in my old life to stay dormant forever in the mind of this doll. Once I'd found the world of the living again, I couldn't so easily leave a second time."
Mira frowned. "Well, Agatha, I am friendly with other Witches and welcome you into my home, but I cannot work with the power drain caused by your return, which evidently caused the doll to have to hide its mind from me. I depend on my dolls' honesty for some of my power."
Agatha thought for a minute and offered, "Here's what I propose. You can set this doll free. Or, you can have this doll, and I will work with you on spellwork when our interests align, but I need my foothold in this world and my own doll for my own power."
Mira responded, "I make a promise to all my dolls that I will never abandon them, only setting them free if they desire it. So I will have to discuss it with this doll."
The doll blinked a few times, and a look of apprehension returned to its face. "Miss? What happened?"
"I know now about Agatha. Tell me, little one, why did you come to me, then?"
The doll looked around then spoke in a pleading voice, "Serving Agatha was so very hard, trying to share a body, and this one was so frustrated, hoping a Witch with her own body would help things."
Mira nodded. "I see. It was wrong to withhold that, but I won't punish you for it now. But I do need to know if you want to continue to serve me."
The doll seemed relieved. "This one would very much like to continue to, Miss!"
Mira looked it in the eyes. "Okay." She paused before speaking again, "Well, this arrangement could work, but we're going to need two things. First, a willingness from you to share your body with Agatha as needed. Second, Agatha has requested her own doll, for her own magic."
The doll looked a bit overwhelmed. "This one is willing to work with Agatha on sharing, as long as it can continue to serve you. But it cannot help with Miss Agatha's need for her own doll."
Mira called out, "Dolls! I want all of you back here."
The dolls quickly returned to the room.
"I have been afforded the opportunity to do ritual work that requires two Witches. But the second Witch is a spirit-form which resides in the head of this doll here," spoke Mira, gesturing to the doll in question.
She continued, "The second Witch needs her own doll."
An older doll, the oldest one in Mira's service, stepped forward. "Miss, this one would like more information about this arrangement."
Mira said, "It is the best way out of a quandary, but whichever doll volunteers --- if any --- will be under Agatha's service, not mine."
The older doll spoke, solemnly, "This one has been in your service for a long time and understands magic well. It had sensed Agatha's presence within these walls. It would like to do one final act of service to Miss by volunteering, so Miss may do rituals with a second Witch."
Mira took the older doll's hand. "If this is your choice, then I thank you for this final act of service. And I will give you over to serve Agatha, after I say goodbye to you properly."
The older doll nodded and looked longingly at Mira.
Mira lovingly ran her hands through the older doll's hair, slowly, gently and kissed it on the forehead. "For a few moments, be Still, one last time, for me."
And it was.

Past!Steve Rogers x Reader, Bruce Wayne x Reader.
Tumblr media
Summary: Steve Rogers had lived his life, it was only fair for you to live yours right?
Author’s Note: okay so another crossover and for this I’m thinking of Christian Bale batman, so read at your discretion. It’s also a lil sad and some happy parts. Thank you to @stuckonjbbarnes @honeyloverogers and @buckysmischief
Steve stared at the roof looking at the white pristine celling.
He waited for the other person on the other side of the room to finish with her nightly routine.
He kept staring at the ceiling closing his eyes and for a brief moment he felt you.
His mind had the ability of taking him back to that night, the moment he decided to leave her. Trying to conquer an illusion, a fleeting moment of what should have been.
His mind told him to do it, but his heart.
His heart was the most unforgiving part of himself that never really let it go.
And now here he is age clear on his face, wrinkles in his one youthful hands that made you laugh, that held you when you cried, now old and lonely.
He had everything he was looking for, or so he thought.
A knock on the door interrupted his thought making Steve get up from the bed looking outside the window as he makes his way to the front door.
He opens the door smiling at the man on the other side who had his infamous frown plastered on his face.
“Come in please,” Steve motions to the living room but the man on the other side doesn’t make a move, for a moment it looks like he could burn at the mere thought of walking through the door.
“No,” the man says anger written clear on his features.
“Bucky you’ve been here before,” Steve motions with pleading eyes, but Bucky stays unmoving.
“You really think I wouldn’t know that Scott wouldn’t tell us what you wanted to do,” Bucky says as he gets more and more exasperated.
“It’s not what you think,” Steve please as he closes the door and walks to the porch Bucky leaving as much distance as possible.
“No it’s much worse,” Bucky says.
“Sam and I receive this call from Scott saying that you met to get back to the past to get back to her.” Bucky says.
“You already lived your life Steve, you have a wife, kids, and grandkids.” Bucky motions at the house.
The house that he build but thought of you in every detail, when Peggy would ask about why he would say.
“Because its meant to be that way.”
She never really mentioned it again but the essence of her was in the house of all time.
From the constant need to have sunflowers in the kitchen because,
“Steve if there is gonna be flowers in the kitchen its gonna be sunflowers.” You said softly as you unwrapped the bright flowers from the brown paper.
Or how he still kept the little folded handkerchief you embroided because,
“That is more your style Steve.” You said softly as you stand on your toes and kiss him softly on the lips.
After all those years Steve could still see you, feel you, and on some night he can almost touch you.
“Bucky I don’t think you understand, this, this is meant to be hers,” Steve says looking up at the house that took him a good decade yo built.
When Peggy asked him why the changes to the house he was never brave enough to admit that the house never felt his and Peggy’s, he always felt this should’ve been your house with him.
“This is not her house Steve! She already has a home,” Bucky says accentuating each word he said.
“Her home, with her fiancé” Bucky said louder coming face to face to the man in front of him.
The words surprised Steve more than it should. He knew he had no right to complain at this point. You were free the moment he left her, he assumed you would move forward, but he felt the slight betrayal in his core.
But who was Steve to judge when he was the first one to move forward.
Still that voice in the back of his mind that always brought you up was, angry, to say the least.
Steve takes a deep breath and takes a seat over the rocking chairs on the front porch. Another touched you where enamored by.
“Steve, when we get our house he have to put rocking chairs in the front porch.” You said sternly yet a smile shone on your face.
“Why is that sweetheart?” Steve ask as serially as he can with you sitting on his lap.
“Because I know we are growing old together, and you of all people should know that people of a certain age like rocking chairs on the porch, old man.” You say that last part and leap out of his lap running away you giggles is all that can be heard in the apartment as Steve laughs and runs after you.
“Tell me about it,” Steve motions to the chair, but Bucky stays still.
“Steve you just have to let it go,” Bucky tries to appeal Steve but he knows it’s a lost cause.
Bucky sighs and sits on the step on the porch, his back turned to Steve as he recalls the news and everything that lead up to it.
“She actually left New York a couple of weeks after you left,” Bucky recalls with sadness on his eyes.
Bucky remembers how betrayed he felt, you where leaving him, just like Steve. Of course now he realizes it was for the best, but at the moment, he had a different mind set.
“You are gonna leave me to? Huh? My so called new sister, just gonna walk away like him?” Bucky yells angry as you turn to him shocked face and tears on your eyes.
“You don’t get to compare what happened,” You drop the box in your hands and sob. Your sobs clear Bucky’s head for a minute.
“Steve left us Bucky, he left to follow his dreams, I am allowed to try to move forward!” You yell from the place on the floor as you hug your knees.
Bucky slowly approaches you realizing that this is bigger than he could’ve ever imagined. He realized in that moment that he was supposed to be Steve’s past, but you, you that opened you life to him.
You so soft and tender, never an ounce of judgment or regret of letting him in.
You that tenderly took care of him, welcome him into your home, and called him your brother to anyone who would listen.
You where supposed to be Steve’s future.
And now all you both had left was the whole Steve Rogers left.
“Don’t cry petal, I’m sorry,” He says tenderly as he reaches for you slowly.
“Do you think that I want to leave my home. My whole life behind.” You say as you calm down and look at Bucky with sadness, but love for him.
“I know Steve left you too, but you can come with me to Gotham. “ you say as you look at him with determination.
“But New York is my home,”  Bucky tries to reason.
“But it’s bit mine anymore,” You say softly as you hold his hand.
“I am always here Bucky, I just can’t be here anymore.” You motion at the left overs of you heart.
“I know I am just afraid,” Bucky rest his head on your shoulder.
“I know but I am you sister James Barnes,” you say determination clear in his voice.
“ Also someone’s gotta keep an eye on Sam, he’s your responsibility now you know? Handling Captan Americas’. That should be you new name.” You joke making Bucky laugh.
“Alright let’s finish this before the pigeon arrives and see us sad. He can stand people being sad, he always has to be so happy and sunshine-y.” Bucky says as he stands up and hold his hand out for yours.
You smile up at him as he hold you up he envelops his arms around you hugging you desperately.
“Thank you, for being here, I am really going to miss you,” he says softly.
“I am always here, never forget that,” you whisper.
As you continue to hug the front door announce loudly the third person of the party arrived.
“So I go out for pizza in the cold streets of New Yorker and this is how I find you red eyes and hugging like we are never gonna see each other again?” Sam asks leaving the two large pizzas on the table.
“As if you could get rid so easily of me,” you say as you open you arms, Sam jumping in.
“Never petal, we are family here.” Sam says as Bucky hums in agreement.
“Okay that’s enough of the mushy stuff we gotta get this lady to Gotham city!” Sam yells as you all laugh.
In that moment Bucky felt like everything would be alight and true to your word, even if you had to fly to New York or Louisiana, you where there even of it was for something as simple as birthdays, holidays, or just because Bucky was missing you.
Bucky tells the story more of a reminder of who you where, than to tell Steve about you.
From the past years Bucky visited Steve he never brought you up. He felt like his loyalty was to you.
“So she left everything behind huh?” Steve wonder heaviness in his heart, but a small light shining knowing Bucky was never really alone.
“I think thats what she needed to heal.” Bucky says standing up.
“She was always there, at the end of the line.” Bucky says harshly and with protection written all over the place.
“Bucky,” Steve stands up to reach him.
“I need to go weddings gonna be next week and I can’t wait. I’m giving her away,” Bucky says as a smile makes a way to his eyes.
“You know I always thought I’d be you at the end of the altar.” Bucky says as he starts leaving.
“Also if you really need to know you should look at social media, everything you want to know about him is there.” Bucky says walking out suddenly he stops.
“Tell the misses I said goodnight.” Bucky says looking up at the house one last time as he gets on his bike driving away leaving a trail on dirt behind him.
Steve sits there for a while emotions swirling in his being.
As he pulls his cellphone out he hears soft steps and he looks up to look at his wife.
“Steve you’ve been here for an hour what happened?” Peggy says taking the chair next to him concern on his face.
“I just- Bucky came over, he just needed someone to talk to.” Steve says as he tries to smile hiding yet more emotions form his wife.
He was good at that, he guessed.
“Oh strange he didn’t stay,” she shrugs standing up.
“Yeah guys stuff you know,” Steve tries to laugh as Peggy smiles at him.
“Oh this also arrived on the mail today,” Peggy hands him a white luxurious envelope.
“Alright I’m going to bed,” She says as she kisses his cheek.
“Okay I’ll be there in a minute.” He says as she heads back inside.
He looks at the envelope and think nothing of it thinking its an invitation from Pepper. As he opens it and reads it he stays silent his eyes roaming all over the written words.
            You are cordially invited to the wedding of
                               Bruce Thomas Wayne                                              And                                (Y/N)(Y/M/N)(Y/L/N)
    Who’s nuptials will be taking place in
The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
    Located at 1000 5th Ave, New York, New York.
Steve can’t even finish reading as he drops the paper.
Anger and sadness fill him as he stares at the mocking piece of paper on the floor.
He takes out his phone opening google and typing Bruce Wayne and thousands of result pop up. He opens the wikipedia article and starts reading. After reading some information he looks at the some pictures and he sees it. You and him on a red carpet for one of his galas or something smiles all over as he click the article states very clear that since you went public with him he was seen visibly happier. He can’t help but mad at him, you, and specially himself.
He sits again in the rocking chair, the one you where meant to grow old together on, and stare at the horizon thinking of you and what to do with the wedding invitation at his feet.
How could he get back to you?

masterlist
Tumblr media
-------------------------------
there are many things that people should go back to. schooling, maybe an old job, an old vacation spot.
your boyfriend was not one of those things.
mostly because your boyfriend sucked.
it was now a fact that spencer reid himself had come to believe quite a while ago and now, well now he had reason.
he had always felt as though you were too good for noah, similar for practically anyone in existence (himself included). he was always a complete ass to you no matter the circumstance.
there was one time the entire team had been back really late from a case that took a toll on all of you. it was emotionally and physically draining. the flight back had been delayed because of weather issues in the state you had been in, meaning you couldn't leave until days after it was solved.
any time you had gone to answer the phone, spencer would be able to see your stance and body language through the glass window. you had been apologizing for something you couldn't even control. you would narrow your brows the way you only did when you were being yelled at. you bit your lip the way you did when you were being made to feel guilty.
he was guilt tripping you for something you couldn't even control.
when you had gotten back it wasn't any better. noah had been giving you the cold shoulder. he was defensive when you asked what was wrong.
and that was only 3 weeks into the relationship.
after being together for 2 months, you had gotten flowers delivered on your desk. you assumed they were from your boyfriend, reasonably so, and went to go thank him. spencer saw the shock in your eyes when you saw your boyfriend huddled in the corner with some new intern. spencer saw the look in your eye change from sadness to anger in the blink of his own.
you took a deep breath, and walked away from the situation, completely missing the way he tucked the intern's hair behind her ear as he leaned in to whisper something to make her giggle. when you got back to your desk you threw the flowers in the garbage can, not even bothering to read the note.
it was pretty indirect, but looking into it he realized it was an issue that should've been addressed. every time the team would go out together, everyone was clearly invited. you would always decline because 'noah wanted to take me out tonight' or 'noah said he needs me, so i'll have to rain check'.
it wasn't because you were a bad person, the opposite actually. it was because noah was taking advantage of your kindness.
because any time you needed him, 'noah's out with the boys' or 'noah had to work late' or, here's a kicker, 'noah had a hard time at work'. as if you don't have a hard time looking at dead bodies while he just has to write up reports.
even when you got injured during a case, shot in the shoulder, noah seemed as though he couldn't have cared less. he wouldn't even go to your apartment to visit you while you were in recovery because 'noah didn't have time to visit'.
spencer could even recall when you went out with the girls one night, spencer being the designated driver, that you had told them how 'noah didn't want you to dress too provocatively so you had to wear something more modest'.
now, spencer doesn't care all to much about what you wear because, frankly, it's none of his business. but now that he heard how noah cared oh-so-much, he decided to wrack his brain for the 'provocative' outfits you've worn. there was not a single one that anyone should make a comment about. you looked stunning no matter what you wore, so you'd grab any man's attention no matter the clothing on your body.
but spencer? he made sure to never be that much of an asshole to you. he made sure to make up for him being an asshole.
he would grab you some morning coffee like you always had before you had a boyfriend. he would make sure to tell you that you looked lovely when you were able to go out with the team. he would visit you when you injured yourself and were lonely, he even stayed back for a few days with you to help you get through it.
hell, he was the one to get you the flowers. you had been having a rough week and spencer thought it might cheer you up. he had gifted you a bouquet of 12, blue chiffon flowers because those were your favorite.
but this was his breaking point. you had come to his apartment, once again in the middle of the night, talking about noah fucking miller cheating on you.
he had done it once before when he was 'out with the boys' you decided to stop by when he said he'd be back, wanting to just be the amazing girlfriend that you are. so when you walk in and hear your boyfriend moaning along with another woman that isn't you, you immediately run back out. you run back out and drive all the way to spencer's.
and here you are again. spencer wasn't mad at you, it was noah he was mad at. he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
spencer had always liked you, no, he's always loved you. everything about you. how could he not? you're perfect.
but loving you how he does and seeing you being used as a toy to fuck for a certain noah miller not only made his heart ache but also made his blood boil.
spencer wasn't an idiot. he had heard the way the old morgan had referred to women. the thing is, noah is way more of a fuckboy than the old morgan ever was. and that scared spencer to pieces. he knew that you would only be missing out on team outings just to get fucked by a douchebag. he knew that the only reason said douchebag wouldn't visit you was because you couldn't fuck. he knew that the reason said douchebag was cornering that intern was to fuck her, too.
so when you arrived at spencer's place, this time you weren't crying. you were furious. you were angry and upset, as was spencer.
"he did it again, spence," you breathed out as you paced across his living room floor. "i was supposed to meet him in a few hours but i was going to surprise him and i caught him with another tramp! i didn't even confront him. i just- i just left!"
"cheated? noah?" he asked as if he didn't believe it at first, not wanting to seem like as much of a dick as noah.
"yes! cheated. god! i am so ANGRY!" you ran your hand through your hair, a grunt leaving your mouth. "and... and frustrated! and... UGH!" you sighed aggressively.
"and what?" spencer asked as he stood up, slowly making his way to you. "what else?" he said, his hand now brushing that stubborn strand of hair behind your ear.
"i-i'm..." you trailed off, getting lost in his beautiful eyes.
if you were honest with yourself, you'd admit how much you loved spencer. but you thought he'd never love you like that. not since you helped him through jj getting married. he really thought she was it for him, at least that's what you'd come to think he believed. over the years you had grown so much closer and grown such an attraction for each other that the other person knew about. it was ironic, truly.
"say it, y/n," spencer leaned over you, his lips ghosting over yours. "i need to hear you say it."
"god, just kiss me," you said, your hands flying to the back of his hair to push his mouth to yours.
there was no hesitation from spencer to give you everything he had. his hand on the side of your face remained there as his other hand drifted to your waist to pull you closer to his body. your tongues met fervently with covetous, passion, and longing yet with just gentle firmness that felt protecting and as if it was how everything was supposed to be.
"please, spencer," you quietly whispered once you unlatched from one another.
"please what, princess," he asked, his hand running through your hair.
"i just... i need you," she pleaded with him, her hands still tugging gently on his hair. "please," you put your foreheads together, breathing in each others air as you silently begged him to help you in any way that he could.
"i'd do anything for you," he whispered so delicately as if the entire team were standing right beside you. "you know i'd do anything for you."
"then do something," you demanded.
spencer took action by kissing you just as intensely as before, this time his hands went to your ass. he grabbed your thighs to signal for you to jump, once you did you wrapped your legs around his torso as he carried you into his bedroom. he set you down just in front of the bed before you began to undo his shirt, him returning the favor by undoing yours.
"god, i've wanted you for so long," he growled, nipping gently at your earlobe as he laid you back on the bed. "lift your hips," he ordered, you obeyed his every command. you always would. "good girl," he praised as he ran his hands down your now bare waist.
"please," you begged, your hips bucking up to get any source of friction. "spencer..." you trailed off.
"i know, princess. i know," he said before climbing on top of you, connecting your lips with his once again, this time much more eager than before if that were possible.
as you arched your back, he took the opportunity to unclasp the hook on your bra. you shrugged it off your shoulders to allow him to throw the bra somewhere else in his room. he finally took a breath, removing his lips from yours to admire the view in front of him.
"god, you're so beautiful," he growled before placing gentle but eager kisses along the tops of your breasts, massaging the one his mouth wasn't on.
he pressed his knee between your legs, allowing you to buck your hips up to get that release you wanted so bad. you whined as he took your nipple in his mouth, his tongue flicking past it rapidly as he occasionally nibbled on it gently.
"spen-spencer," you ran your hands through his hair, tugging gently on the roots.
"mmm," he sat his head up, trailed kisses up your throat. "god, i love you so much."
"i-i love you," you moaned, pulling his head up to connect your lips together. "i love you so so much."
"i'm so glad to hear that," he huffed a sigh of relief. "because otherwise it'd be awkward when i did this," he began trailing kisses down your body, leading down towards your center. "i'll show you what it's like to be with a man that actually loves and respects you, yea? show you what it feels like to actually be pleased by a man? what it's like to be with a real man?" he teased.
his fingers trailed around your entrance, gathering your arousal that'd been building for what felt like ages. he pressed gentle kisses around your pussy before finally connecting his lips with your clit, a low groan emitting from your body because of the contact.
"yes, please," you shot your head back, relishing in the feeling of the direct skin contact.
"hey," spencer slapped your thigh, your head shot back up to see him between your legs, a truly beautiful sight that you'd never get tired of. "eyes on me," he demanded before going back down on you, not breaking eye contact as he brought out sounds from you that you weren't even sure you could make. "talk to me, princess. let me know how it feels."
"fe-feels so good," you sighed, taking your breasts in your hands and massaging them. "i-i can-can't even think," you stuttered out, too caught up in the pleasure to form a coherent sentence.
you had felt so good as he sucked on your clit, succeeding in bringing you closer to the edge than noah ever has, but when he inserted two fingers into your entrance...
"oh my fuck!" your hands shot down to grab onto his locks, pushing him further into your body, a low groan leaving him.
his fingers didn't stop their work. he curled them at just the right spot, sending you flying over the edge. spencer used his free hand to grab onto your thigh to keep them from closing in completely on his head, still working you through your high. he placed a kiss on your clit once more before he brought his head up to you, connecting your lips passionately.
"could noah ever make you come like that? huh? could he make you feel so good you could barely even think?" he grabbed your chin in his hands, holding it in place to look at him as you shook your head the best you could. "no?"
"mm-mm," you tried to shake your head 'no' once more.
"did you think of him while i was going down on you? were you thinking about how he fucked that little tramp?" he asked harshly, you shook your head 'no' again. "oh, what were you thinking, princess?" he finally released your face so you could speak.
"ab-about how well you know my body. about how, how good you looked between my legs. about how much i love you," you replied quickly, knowing exactly what to say.
"right answer," he connected your lips once more. "what do you want, love?" he asked, peppering soft kisses along your jaw where his hands once held your throat firmly.
"you. i-i want you in-inside me," you swallowed, your hand finding his and pulling it up to your lips to press a kiss to it, then another, then another, then another. "please, doctor?" you used your best puppy dog eyes you knew he couldn't resist.
"god, call me that again," he rasped lowly.
"what... doctor?" you took his hand and started sucking on his fingers, letting them slip in and out slowly and then moving onto the next.
"fuck, yes," he growled as he pressed another kiss to your lips before lining himself up at your center. "are you sure, princess?" he traced your jaw with the fingers you were previously sucking on.
"yes, sir," you nodded. "i'm sure."
you felt him slowly push inside of you slowly to allow you to adjust to his size. you had your suspicions of how big he was, but feeling him inside of you made it all much more real.
"fuck, you're so tight," he moaned into your ear quietly as he slowly pulled back out, going in just as slow.
"sp-spence-"
"wrong," he slapped your face gently, a whimper leaving your lips before he grasped your face to make you look him in the eyes.
"doc-doctor," you corrected yourself.
"good girl," he said, feeling your pussy clench from the praise. "oh you like that?" he felt it again. "maybe you just like hearing me talk, yea?" his pace began picking up slowly. "you like hearing how this pussy makes me feel? how tight... and warm... and wet it is?"
"u--uh huh," you nodded your head the best you could as he began thrusting much more rapid, hitting that special spot inside of you with each movement.
"it seems like you haven't felt this good in a long time huh? haven't had your pussy pounded like this in a while?" he asked as he was catching his breath.
"ne-never, doctor," you confirmed, hands reaching around his back and dragging your nails down, surely leaving scratch marks all down them.
"fuck," he growled. "noah never made you feel this good princess? never made you forget how to speak in sentences? never knew how to get you going like this?"
"n-no, no! never! god, never!" you cried as you pulled his body even closer to you. "i-i'm close, please!"
"you wanna come all over my dick, yea? you want to show me how much your pussy loves it when a real man fucks it?"
that was it to let that spring burst inside of you, parts flying everywhere. you cried his name as he worked you through your orgasm, holding onto his shoulders and hair to keep you grounded.
"cum inside me, please," you begged. "fi-fill me up."
"fuck, whatever you want, princess," he kept pounding into you at a rapid pace. "god, i'm gonna come inside you, and send you back to that scumbag of a boyfriend so he can see that you're mine now. so he can see what happens when his girlfriend is mistreated and fucked by someone who knows what they're doing, yea?"
"yea, yea!" you whined, nails digging back into his skin as he released his load into you, thrusting it gently back inside after.
"god, i love you so much," he moaned into your ear, pressing a kiss to your cheek by your ear.
"i love you," you replied, stroking his hair to help him come down, him still inside of you. he began thrusting inside of you once again.
"don't want any of it to spill out before you get to him," he felt you clench around him one more time. "you're very responsive, princess. i like that about you."
"it-it's just you, spence. it's always been you," you pulled him in for another kiss.
this one was full of passion but not the kind of eagerness. it was full of desire and longing, pent up emotions flowing out into one another fluidly.
"now let me go see my soon-to-be-ex-boyfriend," you huffed as he pulled out of you, wincing from the overstimulation. "i'll see you later?"
"i'll see you later," he pressed a kiss to your forehead before helping you gather your clothes.
driving back to his apartment, you felt rather giddy with yourself. should you have felt bad? absolutely not. he's a manipulative asshole who's used you for sex on numerous occasions, so he deserved the bittersweet irony of what was coming to him.
*get it, coming to him? lol i'm sorry i had to :)*
you knocked on the door softly, greeted by a rather chipper noah who grabbed your face as soon as he saw you, connecting your lips. his kiss was nothing like spencer's. his lips weren't as soft and tentative. they weren't plump and round, they were harsh and rough and unpleasant.
he quickly led you to the bedroom, not to your surprise. he sat down on the bed, you straddled his hips, acting as if it were spencer instead - which was pretty hard to do after knowing what he was like in the sack.
you felt his boner through his pants quickly after you got on top of him. then when he flipped you over and pulled your pants and underwear down, he was met with a surprise.
"someone's excited to see me," he chuckled before licking a thick stripe from your slit to clit, very aggressive to where it almost hurt to have the pressure. "god you taste so good, doll."
he continued at this for a while, inserting his tongue to your hole very once in a while and licking up yours and spencer's arousal with it. you faked your moans and whimpers as his ministrations became more eager, not really getting you anywhere.
after he was finished with your turn - no, he didn't even make you cum - he laid back on the bed as if he were waiting for you to get on top of him again.
"actually," you stood up from the bed, pulling up your clothes with you. "i'm done with this. we're over."
you watched his face as he took in the information just released to him. it changed from surprised and shocked, to confused, to disgusted, to angry and frustrated.
"what the fuck?" he sat up from the bed, a disgruntled look on his face. "you wait until after you cum to tell me this?" he walked over to you, arms flailing in the air.
"yea. i did. and by the way, i didn't cum," you informed him. "that's something you've never really been good at making me do. although i'm not sure how you've been able to convince me to do anything with the way you treat me."
"what do you mean? i'm a good gu-"
"shut up for one second, please," you rolled your eyes, running your hand through your hair. "i know you've cheated on me numerable times. i stayed because i thought that maybe there was a reason, but i've come to realize that i was just... settling with you," you shrugged.
"you've treated me like crap since this 'relationship' started and i'm tired of it. i know someone who not only treats me with respect and kindness, but can also actually make me cum. shocker," you chuckled.
"who is this asshole? what the hell-"
"i wasn't finished, sweetie," you spat out viciously. "he's not an asshole. you're the asshole. you're the one that's getting dumped. so this is goodbye," you turned around to walk out of his room before leaving him with one more thought. "how did his cum taste with mine?" you tilted your head innocently, smiling at his shocked face as he realized what you meant before walking out.
and you were never more glad that you didn't have to go back to him anymore.

1 week ago
you bit your nails as you paced up and down your room, a nervous habit you’d picked up in your junior year of high school whilst dealing with the tremendous stress and pressure school put on you. well lucky for you, you had graduated now and your 18th birthday was just around the corner. specifically, exactly a week from now.
your best friend jay sat on your bed staring at you with amusement written all over his face as he quietly observed you, before moving up to stop you and pull your hands away from your face. “you’re going to wear yourself out” he mumbled softly, pulling you to sit next to him and rubbing your shoulder in a comforting manner.
“I know I know, I’m just nervous, what if they’re all the way on the other side of the world? or even worse, what if they’re someone I know??” the panicked expression on your face was seemingly too much for jay to handle as before you knew it, he had almost rolled off your bed, laughing his ass off at you.
you see, your “dearest” best friend jay never believed in soulmates. he himself never actually got a name on his wrist, a sign that his soulmate had not reached the age to get theirs. to say he was ecstatic would be an understatement as he was at a party that very night, hooking up with a random girl before going over to your house the next morning with a massive hangover and a sullen expression.
it hurt you to see him that way, hooking up with random people, praying that he wouldnt run into his soulmate. and it hurt even more when you thought of how his soulmate was probably so excited to meet him even if they didn’t know him yet.
if only you knew where you would be a week later, wishing it was you who never met him.
present day
the time on your phone read 11:57, and jay had shown up to your house at exactly 11:30, punctual as always, giving up his usual saturday night parties to spend the night before your special day with you instead. he held your hand in his, one thumb running up and down the expanse of your knuckles soothingly, the only thing grounding you in the tense moments before what was basically the biggest moment of your life. your eyes never met his once, only flickering from the clock to your wrist every few seconds, almost as if it would appear before time if you stared long enough.
12:00 a.m.
it was almost as if everything stopped in that moment as the words appeared on your skin. the crickets stopped chirping, that one car alarm outsode your house stopped beeping and both you and Jay stopped breathing, even if it was just for a few seconds. one by one, letter by letter, black ink slowly trailed up the soft skin on your clean wrist, marking your skin for the rest of eternity. you watched with bated breath as tbe letters curved their way into your skin, into your soul.
“P-A-R-K” looks like your soulmate would have the same last name as your best friend. “J-O-N-” that was when the realisation of what was about to happen dawned upon you. “no, no, no, no” was all you could think. “this wasn’t supposed to happen”
meeting jay’s eyes for a split second, you could see the shock on his face, the same shock you knew was written all over your face at that very moment. yanking your hand out of his warmer one, you stared at the 2 words displayed on your wrist. “park jongseong” you whispered as a one lone tear ran down your cheek, falling to you chin before disappearing into the soft material of your sweater.
this prompted jay to push up his own sleeve, the words that seem to have appeared on his wrist confirmed what you both already knew by that point. jay park, your best friend since you were 5, your rock, your everything, was your soulmate. if the situation were anything but this, you would have been jumping for joy, ecstatic that your soulmate was the man you’d grown up with your whole life. but unfortunately, that was not the case.
“_______” he whispered, voice hoarse as he held your hand in his again. gripping it tightly this time so you wouldn’t be able to let go this time. not that you wanted to anyway. “jay” you whispered back, attempting to smile at him, despite the tears that were threatening to overflow at any moment. “I-I need time to think” he said, so softly, his eyes full of nothing but remorse. “I understand jay, take your time, don’t rush okay?” you replied, squeezing his hand in reassurance. he wistfully smiled at you one last time as he pushed himself off your bed and walked out of your bedroom, closing the door with a small ‘click’, leaving you alone in the darkness of your room, mind racing and wondering what were you were going to do with this newfound information.
you fell asleep after much tossing and turning, your mind full of nothing but jay and his name that was now tattooed into the inside of your wrist. you were woken up by the bright smile of your parents, you mother holding a plate of pancakes and wishing you a happy birthday. the sight alone was enough to make you burst into tears as you wrapped your arms around her, seeking her familiar scent and comfort after the rough night you had. your parents seemed shocked, but did not press you to open up, wrapping their arms around you as they attempted to comfort you.
your mom was no foolish woman, as she seems to have caught on to what was bothering you on your special day. “its about your soulmate isn’t it?” she asked as she placed a glass of your favourite chocolate smoothie in front of you, wiping her hands on her apron. you looked up at her, disbelief written all over your face as she chuckled at you. “how did you know?” you asked as she smiled slyly at you. “I have my ways, and besides, I’m your mother” she replied with a wink. you groaned, dramatically resting your head on the counter as she laughed and gave in. “I saw jay walk out of your room last night with tears streaming down his face, and considering you woke up crying too, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what went down there”.
“you should talk it out with him sweetie, he’s not just your soulmate, he’s your best friend. despite how he feels about this whole fate thing, I’m sure the both of you will be okay.” her words reassured you as you grabbed your backpack, and walked through your front door. not even 2 minutes later you heard the biggest scream and you were tackled into a hug. giggling, you wrapped your arms around the taller boy as he squeezed you tightly. “happy birthday ______!” he said as he let go of you and continued your walk to school. “thanks sunoo” you said, smiling at the younger boy who had the biggest grin on his face.
“soooooo” he began, looking at you with an expectant expression on his face. you pursed your lips, already predicting the question that was due to escape his mouth any second from now. “jay” you said, cutting him off before he could even open his mouth. “JAY?!?!!?” he said, a little too loudly, mouth agape as he processed the information. you shrugged as he linked his arm with yours, understanding that you didnt want to talk about it.
luckily, no one pressed you about your soulmate for the rest of the day, warded off by sunoo’s glare the moment they looked like they were going to ask. you sat next to jay in all your classes, the atmosphere tense and awkward between the two of you. everyone seemed to have figured our what happened by that alone, your normally boisterous voices muted and soft. you went out after school with sunoo and riki, your mood heightened by the laughs and jokes of the two bickering boys.
when you got home, the house was eerily quiet, your parents nowhere in sight, all the lights turned off save the one in your living room. and there on the sleek grey sofa sat Jay, looking down at his hands as he anxiously played around with the rings he always wore. your footsteps alerted him of your presence, as he shot up off your sofa to greet you with a crooked smile on his face, black hair sticking up in every direction.
you smiled at him, already preparing yourself for the worst, as he walked towards you. “your parents have gone out, they handed me the keys and told me to come and talk to you if I wanted, and-” he cut himself off in the middle of his sentence, taking a deep breath and holding your hand. here goes nothing he thought. “I want to try. this whole soulmate thing I mean. maybe i wouldnt be this way if it was anyone else, but it’s you, my best friend, and I don’t want to lose you.” he mumbled out the last part, but it was still clear enough for you to hear. you couldn’t help the smile that stretched across your face at his words, his own face breaking out into a grin at your expression. you reached up on your tippy toes to wrap your arms around his neck as his hands went around your waist.
he buried his face in your hair, your soft vanilla scent calming his racing heart, and that was when he realised how much you really meant to him. he loved when you would always being him snacks after soccer practice, he loved when you let him lay his head on your lap and you ran your hands through his hair, he loved seeing the expressions you made when you ate his food, he loved you.
“I made something for you” he said, pulling away from your embrace, leading you to your kitchen and making you sit down on the counter. he grabbed a plate of your favourite pasta and a fork before lifting up a mouthful and holding it out to feed it to you. you smiled, wrapping your lips around the fork as the flavours exploded in your mouth. “oh my gosh, this is good, you’ve really outdone yourself.” he smiled at the complement before pressing a kiss to your cheek and muttering a little “happy birthday love”, leaving your face feeling hot and an uncontrollable smile on your face.
the rest of the evening went by in hin feeding you food and taking a few notes of it himself, lots of little cheek kisses, before the two of you settled down on the couch to watch a movie. it seemed like jay had gotten over his awkwardness as he pulled you to sit between his legs the moment the movie started. you looked back at him in shock, wondering when he got so bold before he pressed a kiss to your lips and told you to focus on the screen.
it might not have been the perfect first kiss, but it was with jay and that was enough. he played with your hair throughout the movie, and moved it aside at one point, pressing little kisses along the expanse of your neck. it was when he landed his lips on one particular spot that you let out a little noise, one you never even knew you could make that made him sit up a little straighter.
it was almost as if a switch flipped within him as he tightened his grip around your waist, one hand slipping up your hoodie to caress the skin near your waist. “I didn’t know you could make such pretty noises baby” he whispered in your ear, his hot breath sending shivers down your spine. “well i didn’t know i could either” you whispered back, the realisation of what was about to happen making your body feel like it was on fire.
“are you sure you want this? we don’t have to do anything you dont want to sweetheart” he said, pulling away with a kiss to your cheek. you shifted so that you were facing him, legs wrapped around his waist and you reached your hands up to play with the hair at the nape of his neck. “I’m sure jay, theres no one I’d rather do this with than you.” that was all the affirmation he needed, as within seconds you were being dragged to your bedroom by an overexcited jay.
he pressed you up against your room door, hands coming up to lift your thighs and wrap them around his waist, your core meeting his very obvious bulge. taking advantage of the gasp that left you, he allowed his tongue to skip into your mouth, taking control of every aspect of the kiss. pulling away, he brought you to your bed, gently letting you down onto the mattress, and reaching up to pull your hoodie off you.
“so beautiful” he whispered as he reached behind you to pull your bra off, before lifting his own arms to pull his own shirt off, leaving his body on display for you. just for you. he reached down to tug one of your nipples into his mouth, gently sucking and wrapping his tongue around the sensitive bud, his actions leaving your mouth open in a silent moan.
within minutes, both of you were left completely naked as jay continued to trail his lips down your body, pressing little kisses to your inner thigh before his mouth finally met your core, the smallest motion of his lips leaving you breathless and squirming. “stay still sweetheart, good girls don’t move around so much”. his words sent vibrations spreading throughout your body, not doing anything to help with the heat that was coursing through your veins.
his tongue delved in and out of your dripping hole, one of his hands rubbing your clit while the other held your legs open for him. “jay- i- I’m gonna-” but he was gone the moment the words fell from your mouth. and he was a sight to see. your juices mixed with his, drool and spit dripped down his chin, as he ran his tongue over his lips with a smirk on his face.
“oh so the baby wants to cum? don’t worry love, I’m going to make you feel so good”. he reached into his jacket and pulled out a condom before rolling it on and lining himself I with your entrance. he grasped your chin gently, pulling you up to look at him and planting a loving kiss on your lips. “I love you so much sweetheart, so so much” he whispered, pulling away from your lips. “I love you too jay” you said back, watching as he smiled once, before intertwining your hands and then, pushing himself into you.
nothing had ever felt as good in that moment as he gently, softly pushed himself inside. the feeling was euphoric, having your soulmate inside you in such an intimate manner. your bodies moulding together perfectly, bursts of colour lighting up the back of your eyelids as your eyes closed at the feeling of him in you. he began thrusting in and out of you slowly, not wanting to hurt you. but at your signal, he began moving faster, groans and moans escaping both your lips, finding pleasure and love in each other.
it didn’t take long for you to reach your high at all, his length hitting you in all the right places, leading you to ride out your high much faster than you expected, jay following soon after. he finished inside the condom, reaching out to pull it off and throw it away, before walking to your bathroom and grabbing a wet cloth to clean you up with.
he was greeted with the sight of your tired smile as he returned, gently cleaning you before tossing the rag and gathering you up in his arms, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “does this mean you’re mine now?” he asked, reaching down to bury his head in your hair, his hands absent-mindedly tracing shapes and figures on your bare shoulder. “it does if it means you’re mine too”. he smiled at your response, pulling the blanket over the two of you as you drifted off to sleep in the arms of the one person who would stay with you forever.
thank you for reading!! I hope you enjoyed and I hope you drank enough water today! ♡♡♡

you never knew what to tell your friends when they asked what wakatoshi was like as a boyfriend. everyone wanted to know how the stoic man acted around his significant other. does he melt when he sees you? they’d ask with hearts in their eyes. does he turn affectionate behind closed doors? you never understood their fascination or why they expected him to be a different person just for you.
no, that was a lie. you don’t know why you expected him to be different.
it was coming up on your second year with toshi and you’d been friends throughout your high school years. you knew what he was like before you’d bitten the bullet and asked him on a date. so you had no one but yourself to blame now as you lay alone in your bed that felt far too big, wracking sobs so powerful your whole body trembled from the force.
a month. that’s how long it’d been since you last felt like toshi was a part of your life. you woke up alone, did the chores alone, made dinner alone and went to bed alone. his absence wasn’t the worst part, much to your surprise. it was the signs of disturbance around your shared home. a used plate in the sink. a new load in the laundry. signs that toshi was there, he just wasn’t there with you. it made you feel all the more empty.
you didn’t know why your body decided tonight was the night to give out but once the first tears slid down your face, you were helpless to stop the tidal wave of stress and loneliness and utter sadness from escaping. your only solace was how good it felt to finally cry. to get these corrosive feelings out of your system instead of continuing to let them eat away at you the way you had for weeks.
if only your cries were a bit quieter. maybe you would’ve heard the bedroom door creak open in time to wipe away your tears and feign sleep.
for a moment, toshi just stared at you, drinking in the details of your face illuminated by the light from the hallway.
“it’s late.” the deep timber of his voice made you oddly nostalgic. the two of you hadn’t exchanged more than a scarce handful of sentences during this period, all your communication being limited to dry texts. you’d never minded his texting habits, had even found it endearing once. but when the brief, one word answers became your only lifeline to toshi, how could you not feel as though you were only bothering him with every text sent?
when you didn’t respond, toshi carefully closed the door behind him. you didn’t need any light to know exactly what he was doing. he was nothing if not a creature of habit. you could picture him first placing his gym bag in your shared closet then methodically undressing. but instead of heading to the bathroom to get ready for bed, you felt the mattress dip as he sat next to you.
“you’re crying. why?” he said. you had to stamp down on the urge to reply with sarcasm. if you’ve learned anything from the years you’d spent with toshi it's that he was genuine to a fault. if he was asking you what was wrong, it meant he truly didn’t know. you needed to spell out your feelings for him on more then one occasion but once you did, he would be more than understanding, going above and beyond to rectify the situation. so why did you feel so hesitant to open up now? he could sense your hesitance though he didn’t understand the cause for it, his hand reaching out to find yours in the dark. “i can’t help if you don’t tell me.”
the dam broke, fresh tears streaming down your face. “toshi i miss you. i know you’re busy but it feels like we’re not even together anymore. i don’t hear from you, i don’t see you and i’m stuck in this house all day. i’m just— ‘m just lonely.”
your voice trailed off in a whisper quickly swallowed by the silence of the room, only broken by your sniffles. toshi was still as you cried before leaning over to turn the bedside lamp on. the sudden light stung your eyes and when you adjusted, you could see him already gazing down at you.
“i apologize, y/n.” he kissed the back of both your hands and brought them to his forehead, head bowed. “there is no excuse. my priorities should always include you and they haven’t as of late.”
“it’s ok. i understand you’re busy, toshi i just wish i could see you a little more.” he nodded, lifting his head and his eyes piercing yours.
“i will work to change my behaviour and become a boyfriend more deserving of your love.”
just like that you remembered why you fell in love with him. others saw toshi as someone incapable of understanding emotions, an apathetic person with only volleyball on his mind. it couldn’t be further from the truth. it was true he had difficulty reading your emotions but as soon as you put them in plain terms, he was there for you in any way you needed. “thank you.”
“that is for the future. but that doesn’t change that you feel hurt right now. is there anything i can do to ease your pain?” the look in his eyes told you no ask was too large, the single minded focus that made him one of the top volleyball players in the country was now directed solely on you.
“i just want to be with you.” you crawled into his lap, his arms coming up to hug you close to him.
“you’ve got me.” he murmured into your ear. “for as long as you’ll have me i’m yours. and i’m sorry i haven’t been here to tell you that.”
“you’re here now.”
“i am.”
“toshi…” it has been so long since you were last in his arms you couldn’t help how needy it was making you, desperate to feel him as close to you as possible.
“what is it, love?” instead of replying, you rolled your hips against his, kissing his neck. with only his briefs you could feel his bulge harden slightly with the pressure. “if that’s what you want.”
he lifted you both up off the bed, turning and laying you down carefully. he helped you out of your clothes, leaving you in your plain cotton panties, bra already removed for bed. if you’d known you’d be sleeping with your boyfriend you would’ve worn sexier pieces but judging by toshi’s ravenous expression, it didn’t matter to him. you felt beautiful in his eyes.
toshi kissed his way down, latching onto one nipple and rolling the other between his fingers before switching over, giving each the attention they deserved. he brought one hand to your face and said,
“suck.”
you sucked his fingers into your mouth, glad to finally have something to make you feel full. he watched you, mesmerized by how your lips looked stretched around his fingers.
“do you know how beautiful you look right now? my y/n. always need something in your mouth, don’t you?” you hummed, mind going blank as all you could do was focus on the slightly salty taste as you licked his fingertips.
once toshi deemed them wet enough, he snaked his hand down into your panties, teasing your entrance before dipping inside.
“you’re so wet. can you hear yourself?” you could, the wet squelch as he pumped his fingers inside you made your face heat up with embarrassment. it wasn’t your fault nothing came close to how toshi felt inside you. toys, your own hands, nothing compared to what you were feeling now, so stretched with only two of his fingers inside you. they curled inside you, pressing against that spot that had your legs quivering, gripping toshi’s forearm hard.
“where do you want to cum first, my fingers or my cock?”
“your cock please toshi wanna feel you.” you begged. a moment later, your panties were pulled off of you. toshi took off his briefs and knelt between your legs, his blunt tip resting over your pussy. he tapped it against your clit a few times, smiling softly at how you jumped at the contact before pushing in slowly, rocking back and forth until his entire length was inside you.
you expected him to move but he kept still until your eyes met his. he took one of your hands and placed it over your lower stomach, covering it with his own large hand.
“do you feel that?” he asked quietly. you could, there was a bump there from where toshi was buried inside you. “i’m here.”
“i know.”
“i’m here.” he repeated with more emphasis, head lowering until his forehead met yours. “and i’m never leaving you again. okay?”
an overwhelming tidal wave of love came crashing in, choking you so all you could say was, “okay.”
why did it take you so long to understand? what toshi didn’t say aloud, he said with his actions. the brush of your clit with his calloused thumb was an apology, the squeeze of your hip a reassurance. toshi spoke his reverence into your skin with every open mouthed kiss on your neck and his worship with each roll of his hip against yours. all you could do was lock your ankles around him and accept the torrent of love he poured into you.
“kiss me toshi please ‘m gonna cum.” his lips crashed against yours and you were gone, creaming over his cock as it continued to piston in and out of you.
“does that feel good, love?” he mumbled against your lips. you nodded frantically, still feeling the effects of your high. “tell me what you need.”
“more please.” your voice came out a whisper. you didn’t care about the overstimulation of your poor cunt. you weren’t ready to let go of this moment, of knowing you have toshi here with you, safe in your own small world together.
toshi gave you a tender kiss before pulling back. he gripped the back of your thighs and pinned your knees to your chest, your pussy gushing from the new position. his cock was pushing even deeper now, hitting a spot within you that made your tongue loll out at the pleasure. toshi was fucking into you at a brutal pace and you knew he was close by the small grunts he was letting out.
“hold yourself open for me.” you did as he asked, flushing at how dirty you felt with your pussy so exposed. with his now free hand, toshi placed his fingers back in your mouth. your eyes widened as the taste of your own arousal exploded on your tongue.
“do you like how you taste?” he asked. you sucked at his fingers greedily, licking them clean and he hummed, “i knew you would.”
the pressure in your abdomen was steadily building with every pump of toshi’s cock. his fingers were keeping your moans muffled and he seemed to realize he was missing out. he pulled his hand back, small trails of saliva stringing out as he did. he slammed his hips into your as though he was trying to make up for all the sounds he had missed out on and you did not disappoint, babbling praise for the man fucking you senseless.
“you’re close i can feel it. can you cum with me y/n? can you do that for me?”
“yes fuck toshi i love you i wanna cum for you.”
“go ahead, my love. let go.” you threw your head back as you let go and came for the second time, the erratic clenching of your walls pushing toshi over. you held each other through your highs, chests heaving together as you caught your breaths. when he tried to pull out, you tightened your legs around him.
“stay?” you wanted this moment to last, to be with toshi, connected for as long as you could. he shifted until you were both laying on your side spooned together, careful to not pull out of you.
“go to sleep, my love.” there were still things you both needed to work on in your relationship but you chose to embrace the peace that was sleeping with the arms of your boyfriend wrapped securely around you.

“Lady Y/N?”
The voice was muffled through the door and the one in question rolled from her side and onto her stomach as she laid in her bed. A low groan emitted from the creature whose limbs were tangled in the blanket and sheets.
. . .
“Lady Y/N?”
A short knock-knock accompanied the repeating words, and Y/N had a feeling of that the lovely woman who she’d love to talk to at any other time wouldn’t stop until she replied.
She pulled herself into a sitting position, smoothed over her unruly hair, and finally pulled the covers up so her pajamas wouldn’t be seen and called out, “Come in!”
The woman opened the door and sent her a sheepish smile. “The All-Father has requested your present, ma’am,” she informed her.
Y/N furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. “Do you know the reason as to why?” She quizzed.
The woman spared a quick, darting glance at Y/N’s window. “Well, the All-Father has requested all of the palace’s royals and higher-ups to gather in the courtyard. He is gathering local citizens for a, ah, play, and more would like, in this words, his ‘most esteemed confidants to enjoy,’,” she answered, subtly bouncing her weight from one foot to the other.
Y/N thought for a moment. This was the first time she was hearing that the King was holding a play — not to mention, the fact that the last play (if you could even call it that, because by Heimdall’s recounting it was horrific) was held before any of the children of Odin were born.
Just thinking about that caused a twinge to hit her stomach and for it to twist up. Loki. Odin’s youngest child and the one that had most recently left her, as he sacrificed herself to save his vaillant brother, Prince Thor. It had been weeks, maybe even a month, since Y/N had heard the news and had been resorted to a lonely, saddened version of herself. Loki was her best friend, the person she trusted more than anything and—no, no, who was she kidding? He’s more than that, and he deserves to be remembered as more than that by her.
He’s also the one that she loves, and has loved for at least the past year when she realized it.
Nonetheless, she had taken many steps to get through the grief of Loki’s dead — as had his father — and she wasn’t going to let all her hard work crumble down on one, singular thought.
“Very well, then. Please inform the All-Father that I will be there shortly, thank you,” she said.
The woman nodded and bowed her head before exiting.
Once the door had been fully shut and she could hear footsteps no more, Y/N crossed over to her window and drew back the curtains, not having missed the look at said window.
The sunlight poured into her room but the stage was indeed sent. Rows of fine chairs sat with rows of fine people in them. In front, Odin stood with a red curtain drawn closed behind him. His arms were gesturing wildly and he had a big grin on his face as he gave his speech.
Despite the curiosity that itched into Y/N’s face, she pushed it aside. She had never seen the King conduct himself in such ways, but alas, everyone grieved differently. So, she closed the curtains and got dressed for the day ahead.
— — — — — — — — — — — — —
The moment Y/N stepped outside, she could’ve sworn that there was already long beads of sweat trailing down her skin. She let out a huff but journeyed on towards the courtyard, as this formal royal wear was necessary and she had no intention of pissing off Sir Snotty-Dickhead — as she called him (he had some fancy and long name she couldn’t remember, in her defense) — who was Odin’s right hand man.
By the time she got there, Odin was still rambling on with his speech, but his sudden notice of Y/N saved the guests from boredom.
“Aha, the guest of honor! Lady Y/N, herself,” Odin announced, bringing his hands together in a clap and gesturing for her to come toward him.
She betrayed herself and her cheeks involuntarily reddened as all eyes laid on her. She approached Odin and curtsied out of respect, but her mind was full of wonderings of why she, of all, would be singled out.
“I’m sure you all know who Lady Y/N is, yes?” He began, briefly pausing before continuing. “If you sadly do not, let me tell you. Lady Y/N had been a friend of the royal family, specifically my child, Loki’s—” the name caused her to suck in a sharp breath, “—and she was granted the title of Lady to uphold the image of the palace and to complete very important Asgardian duties.”
Once he stopped talking and the crowd clapped politely, Y/N took the opportunity she was presented before it’s door could close and quickly went and sat in her seat, the only seat not occupied yet, in the front row.
Odin then began speaking against whilst he walked to the side, “Speaking of my dear child Loki, this play that has been put together is one designed to honor him and his heroic sacrifice. Without further ado . . . ” He let his words trail off, and the red curtain pulled open.
Y/N’s face contorted into surprise at the words, not expecting this to take place. Again, she reminded herself, everyone grieved differently, so she decided to give it a chance. However, as the play went on, she was quick to realize that honoring Loki wasn’t the intention here. The horrid acting could be excused but Odin himself allowing this mockery of how Loki died? Of how he sacrificed himself? Well, with every second that passed, her face heated more and more — and not due to the sweat — and she grit her teeth, just barely refraining from yelling.
The worst part for her came though when the actor who played Loki did a dramatic reenactment of his sacrificed and the actor who played Thor did the worst fake crying ever. Y/N turned to the others, expecting them to be just as enraged as she was, but was floored to find that no—they were laughing. And not just that, but Odin was having himself a chuckle as well!
Her fingers tightly gripped the edges of her chair and she forced herself to look straight ahead, just about able to hold in her tears until the play was over and the actors bowed.
— — — — — — — — — — — — —
Afterwards, while everyone was standing and giving Odin rounds and rounds of praises, Y/N stayed rooted in her seat. She couldn’t just let this go by as if it were nothing, but she was struggling to compose herself to confront him.
After a couple minutes of going back-and-forth, she decided, screw composure. She didn’t have to be composed. She was allowed to be angry.
So, she stood up and marched straight for him.
“All-Father,” Y/N said through grit teeth, forcing herself to curtesy, “I request your company in private, if I may.”
It took Odin a moment to tear himself away from accepting his latest comment, but the way he quickly glanced over at Y/N, she knew that he had not noticed — or perhaps he did not care — the state she was in.
“My apologies, Lady Y/N, but should I depart now, I fear I shall upset my comrades!” Odin said, ending his comment in a boastful joy, which resulted in laughter and cheers.
He didn’t wait for her response before engaging in another conversation, and Y/N’s lips remained tightly shut until she decided to just go forth and let her stuffed-up emotions out.
“Fine. I will say it in front of everyone, then!” She said, firmly and loudly, gaining everyone’s attention. “That was a pathetic excuse to remember Loki . . . It was an insult! You mocked him, your own child! How could you even— I . . . I just don’t understand . . . He sacrificed himself for your son and for Asgard and this is how you repay him? God. I expected much, much more from you for him because I . . . Let’s just say that we both love Loki, in our own ways, and I-I . . . I am very disappointed.”
Wanting to flee from the tears that were now streaming down her face and from the silence that was pounding, she turned around and she walked away, the realization that she had just confessed her love in front of everyone hitting her.
“Lady Y/N!”
Odin’s words stopped her in her tracks, but she did not turn around. Just stood. Waited.
“He told Thor, before he passed, that he, uh . . . He loved you, too.”
Y/N stared straight ahead, her hand jutting out to grab the pillar next to her to steady herself.
Loki loved her?
She didn’t stop the tears from coming this time. She let them, and the sobs, overwhelm her.
— — — — — — — — — — — — —
“Lady Y/N?”
The voice and the knock were much more stiff than they were this morning.
“Come in.”
Her response was devoid of emotion, much more curt than it was this morning.
The same woman turned the door’s knob and opened it, sending Y/N, who was curled up on her bed, head nestled into her knees, a wary look. “The All-Father has requested your presence at his quarters,” she said.
Y/N let out a small huff, in no mood to talk to the King after what had happened. She forced her head up and gazed boredom at the woman. “Is it an emergency?” She deadpanned.
The woman looked around the room and by her lack of response, Y/N knew that either she didn’t know or didn’t want to say.
She sighed. “I will be there shortly,” she said.
The woman nodded and wordlessly left.
After she did, Y/N stood up and went in front of her mirror, taking in her appearance. Her once brushed hair was now frizzy and in knots and her eyes were puffy and red. Angrily, she practically tore the hairbrush through her hair and dabbed at her eyes with makeup until the red could be seen no more. She had no intention of letting him see her this way.
— — — — — — — — — — — — —
Screw formalities, Y/N thought, as she walked straight into Odin’s quarters which composed of a small living room, a bedroom down the hall, an office, and a bathroom. She didn’t bother to curtsy or announce her presence.
When he finally and gradually turned around from whatever he was doing, a slight look of shock crossed his features, before he replaced it with a warm smile. “Y/N!” He said, but quickly corrected himself, “Lady Y/N.”
Y/N frowned and crossed her arms. “I hope that you have called me here to apologize,” she said, an icy edge to her voice.
Odin nonetheless looked at her kindly. “In a way, yes,” he vaguely said, before a magical transformation underwent before her.
His wrinkles disappeared, his beard disappeared, his grey hair turned jet black, and his clothes transformed into his usual wear.
No longer was the All-Father standing in front of her, but her best friend. The one she loved.
Taken by utter shock, Y/N instinctively stumbled back, her jaw dropping and her eyes widening. “What the hell is this?” She gasped out, not wanting to believe it at first. It was a cruel trick — it must be! There was no way.
“It’s me,” the mischievous deity said, a rare softness to his voice and in his eyes. He took a step forward, but then stopped himself. “I never died, I only impersonated my father.”
Y/N stared at him, angry tears coming to her eyes once more. “How?” She forced out, thinking that maybe she was dreaming. “Why?”
Loki looked around, slightly dumbfounded, as if he hadn’t expected anyone to question him. “I wanted the throne,” he answered, as if it were obvious and a perfectly acceptable reason.
Y/N stared at him as if he had grown two heads. To her, he might as well have.
“Oh, really? So you take over your father, trick everyone - me, your brother - into believing that you’re dead, you banish Sif . . . All because you wanted the goddamn throne?” She cried.
The cluelessness left his eyes and replaced itself with guilt, regret pooling inside him. He looked down, shoulders falling with a sigh.
“I’ve felt guilty tricking you ever since it had all went down. I wanted to tell you but, honestly, a part of me didn’t think you’d be that upset over my death. But you were really, so upset and I . . . I was lost. I didn’t know what to do. All I wanted to do was hug you and tell you that it was fine, that I was here, but I thought I’d screw up your emotions and hurt you even more,” he admitted.
Y/N just looked at him, her frown growing deeper. “That’s an awful excuse,” she hissed out, words laced with venom.
Loki immediately snapped his head up to look at her and his gaze held desperateness. “It’s not an excuse,” he said quickly. “It shouldn’t be. I’m . . . I’m so sorry. The last thing I ever wanted to was to trick you, and . . . I did. But today was the final straw. I couldn’t continue like that.”
Y/N took a step forward, having an inner battle in herself on whether or not to forgive him. “You lied to me,” she reiterated bluntly.
Loki nodded guiltily. “I did,” he agreed in a small voice.
She took a pause, taking in a deep breath. “You told me you loved me,” she added.
There was a brief moment of silence before Loki said, in the same small way but a little more firm now, “I do.”
Y/N kept walking, not even fully sure or convinced of what she was doing, but knowing that she needed to do it, until she was standing just inches away from him. They looked at each other for a couple moments, neither saying anything, until Y/N wrapped her arms around Loki. He returned the embrace.
“Never do that to me again!” She yelled through the tears that were now coming. God, was she tired of crying. Especially today.
Loki hugged her tighter, his own tears falling. “I’m so sorry,” he whispered, and repeated that over, and over, and over again. “I’m an idiot.”
Y/N leaned back and cupped his face with her hands. The love she had for him overwhelmed her pain, and more than anything she needed him now. Besides, she could see his guilt. She could see the truth shining in his eyes. He wouldn’t do anything like this again, because he loved her. And she loved him.
“At least you’re self-aware,” she whispered through a sniff, taking a page out of his book with her joking remark. Before he could quip back (and she was sure he’d have an excellent one), she leaned forward and captured his lips in his a kiss. Loki smiled against her lips and wrapped his arms around her waist.

❝ hi everyone, i’m not dead- c: ❞

Reconciling with Oikawa takes time
He has a lot of pride and often refuses to admit he’s wrong
Hates apologizing first, but will begrudgingly do it if he has to
It may take time but when he does come to you, he comes to you completely raw and vulnerable
He’s someone emotional and speaks with his heart when it really matters to him
Overall, he’s stubborn and prideful, but at the end of the day he recognizes that none of it is worth losing you.
After making up he’s very clingy and wants to spend as much time with you as he can.
Expect lots of love and tears because he will cry if you cry, and even if you don’t he will still cry
.·:·.☽✧☾.·:·.
The little tap that comes from the window pane is the only thing that draws your attention at this time of night. Turning your head to look at the clear glass, you’re thoroughly surprised to see Oikawa’s face, his cheeks slightly puffed out as he struggles to hold himself up against the window sill.
You’re quick to hop up from your bed, rushing to open your window as you hurriedly wipe away the trail of tears that have stained your face for the past 2 weeks. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t miss him or that you weren’t happy to see him. However, while that may be so you were still mad at him.
“What are you doing here Tooru.” You huff, arms crossed over your chest as you try to uphold your stern exterior.
“I came to apologize-” He freezes, eyes squinting as he scans your appearance with nothing but the small glimmer of the moon, “Have you been crying?”
Eyes wide and mouth almost agap you frantically shake your head, “No.”
Oikawa feels his chest tighten, guilt consuming his entire being as he takes in your exhausted appearance. It’s pure instinct, but he feels himself reach out to brush your cheeks, the slight tenderness left after so many spilled tears only breaks him further.
“I’m sorry y/n… You’re sad because of me and I promised myself I’d be the reason why you smile.” He scoffs, disappointment in himself evident in the way his eyes stare into your own. Crystal like tears welling up in pools of chocolate.
Sighing you offer him the best smile you can muster, “I will always be worried about you Tooru. You push and push until you can’t take anymore and it scares me. I know volleyball is something you love, and I support you in your goals. But you have to know your limits.”
His tears finally spill, painting his cheeks in clear streaks, “I’m sorry…”He chokes out, the longing and desperation seeping into every word.
“It’s okay.” You hum pressing a kiss to his forehead, “I forgive you.”
...
“-Now that you guys are finished can you please get off my shoulders Shittyawa.”
Through grateful tears and a snotty nose Oikawa glances down at his best friend who is currently supporting said setter on his shoulders.
“Way to ruin the mood Iwa-chan you brute.”
“Shut up.”
Tumblr media
Atsumu is childish to say the least. He has pride, and much like Oikawa he doesn’t like admitting he’s wrong
Arguments are one thing, but when Atsumu fights he fights with his whole being saying what he thinks only to feel guilty later
Him and Osamu argue and fight a lot, and when they apologize it’s always indirect or silent
He’s use to quickly sweeping things under the rug because of that
At first he kind of expects it to be the same with you, until he realizes that simply isn’t the case
Nevertheless it’s still pretty easy to make up with him because he’s not one to hold grudges. Plus he’s clingy and would probably die without constant affection
.·:·.☽✧☾.·:·.
Atsumu can’t help but wonder exactly how he had gotten into this position. Perhaps it’s his knack for being an asshole, or maybe it’s the jealousy he feels towards other guys despite the fact that he has fangirls trailing after him like lost puppies. Nevertheless, he finds himself missing your presence, craving your touch and attention.
“What do ya mean?”
“I said no Atsumu.”
He’s confused to say the least, why won’t you hold him? Are you still mad? It’s been awhile hasn’t it?
“y/n… Are ya really still mad?”
“Yes I’m still mad Atsumu, what you said really hurt me.” You can feel it bubble within you. The frustration and the hurt that has lingered, harbored in your mind for days on end, “I don’t care much for your jealousy. But it's the fact that you think our issues can just be pushed aside. You always ignore the problem, and I’m tired Tsumu… I’m tired.”
Your words set his body ablaze. Atsumu feels breathless as he hears the slight choke of your voice. He reaches out to you, uncertain in his touch as the pads of his fingers meet your uniform. His fingers grasp the fabric, desperate in the way that they curl so tightly around your shirt.
You miss him, you really do. His touch, his smile, his antics. Miya Atsumu’s presence is addicting and you find yourself craving him everyday, even more so now that you’ve spent so much time pushing him away.
“I’m real sorry y/n- I really am. I pulled a shitty ass move and I shouldn’t have treated you that way. I just-” He inhales tilting his head back to hide away the tears that build in his eyes, “I’m an ass and I know that so If you’re done with me, I’ll respect your choices...”
Fighting with Atsumu isn’t an entirely rare occurrence but you always find a way to reconcile. However, this time feels different. A blooming fear settles itself in his chest. The thought of you leaving terrifies him, but for once he lets go of his ego, his pride. If it’s what you want he’ll live with it. Just as long as you’re happy.
Sighing, you turn to look at him, “I’ve missed you Tsumu.” You hum softly as you gently place your hand on his cheek.
Atsumu leans into your touch, basking in your warmth, as he feels a rush of relief flood through his body, “I’ve missed ya too baby…”He feels like he can breathe again, his body slumping against your own in his moment of shock.
“You’re such a jerk you know?”
“Only yer jerk- I really do love ya y/n.”
“I love you too Atsumu.”
Tumblr media
Much like Oikawa and Atsumu, apologies take time with Sakusa
Not because he refuses to admit he’s wrong, but simply because sometimes he doesn’t know nor does he realize that he’s being a bit much
It takes time for him to register that he’s being an ass, because while he can be a bit dense he’s not completely oblivious
Reconciling is a quiet, long, and slow process, neither one of you knowing how to approach the other
But nevertheless, both of you are still there quietly mending things as you go
Though it’s a frustrating process. You don’t know where either of you are standing. It’s one big mystery that lingers in the form of tension as you sleep with your backs to one another
Touches filled with longing and days of silence grow tiring. One of you has to crack before things return to how they were
.·:·.☽✧☾.·:·.
Sakusa knows he’s not the easiest person to be around, and that only makes him that much more grateful that you love him so willingly, so easily. It makes him feel full, filled to the brim with the warmth that you give him.
So at first, he doesn’t understand why you turn your back to him, why you won’t look at him, why you don’t speak to him properly. You’re there but you're not, and he admits he’s the same. It’s straining. Both of you are physically there, but it feels so empty and lonely, like falling into a void of nothing.
He misses you, more than he knows how to say. Especially now as he watches you get ready for another night of silence.
And he’s right, the room falls into a daunting quiet. The tension in the air is so thick it’s almost suffocating. His body aches to hold you close against him- the only person he feels comfortable embracing so dearly.
“Do you plan on staying so far away?” The sudden break of silence is almost startling. It leaves your body tense, even Sakusa himself is shocked.
“I don’t know Kiyoomi…” And you really don’t. Granted even if you are upset with him you can’t bring yourself to resent him, you know you would be lying to yourself if you said you did. However, at the same time you don’t know if you could let yourself cave so easily.
Sakusa acts faster than he can think, shifting to face your back. Hesitantly, he reaches for you. Fingers delicately brushing against the fabric of your shirt, “I’m sorry.”
It’s overwhelming, all the emotions that flood through your very being. Your body begins to shake as you’re racked with tears, quickly turning to bury yourself in his much needed embrace, “I’m sorry too Omi.” You sob, soaking his shirt much to his distaste- though he can’t bring himself to comment.
And you stay like that for the rest of the night. Basking in the warmth of one another. Holding on so tightly as if to make up for lost time.
He wonders how he was lucky enough to find someone like you.

hii i just read all of your masterlist and i loved it kdjzjsj. Could i request a scenario where Asahi has been working long hours and never gets to see his wife. And his wife is secretly pregnant :o so they get into a scrabble and all is revealed but happy ending coz i cant do sad ending ny heart might shatter
Baby Daddy
Tumblr media
hey, bub. thank you so much for requesting! here's an asahi angst to fluff with a pregnant wife. i hope you like it ❤️ stay healthy and hydrated!
Tumblr media
genre: angst to fluff
warnings: mentions of nausea, mentions of monthly period, suggestive content
ft. asahi azumane
reminder 1: lashing out on your wife is not a good practice, especially if you're unaware that the said wife is carrying your child inside her womb
reminder 2: never slam the door shut on your wife
Tumblr media
With shaky hands, you stared at the pregnancy test you were holding. Tears of happiness were streaming down your cheeks as you took in the two lines signifying that you are indeed pregnant.
You've been feeling nauseous these past few weeks and the moment you noticed that you skipped your monthly period, you immediately bought a pregnancy test to confirm your suspicions.
And so, there you are, now holding the positive test as you let the feeling of hope and happiness embrace your being. You smiled and reached down to place your free hand on your nonprominent baby bump. Sure, it was too small to be noticeable yet but the fact that you knew that there's a life forming inside you made you happier than you could've ever expected.
"Hi, baby. I know you can't hear mommy yet, but I want you to know that she already loves you very much," you whispered while rubbing small circles on your skin.
Once you finally calmed yourself down from the exciting news, you took a shower and put on some presentable clothes, the red silk of the dress you're wearing shaping your body perfectly.
You stared at yourself on the mirror and smiled in satisfaction. Despite how the dress accentuated your curves, it wasn't too tight to suffocate your lower belly. You put on some light make up and kissed your wedding ring as you finished.
The next thing you did was proceed to the kitchen to prepare some fancy dinner for both you and your husband, giving the table a finishing touch with a bottle of wine for Asahi.
You glanced at the clock and noticed that it was already 9 in the evening yet your husband was still out. You decided to send him a message but only frowned when you received no reply. Sighing, you instinctively placed your hand on your lower belly as you felt a sudden distress.
What if he didn't want the baby?
What if he leaves you?
What if he realizes that he no longer loves you?
What if-
The sound of door opening interrupted you from your thoughts and you immediately stood up to welcome your husband.
Lately, Asahi had been coming home late, always overworking himself to the point of exhaustion. To be honest, you were seriously starting to get worried but everytime you tried to confront him, he would only grunt at you and head to sleep.
You made your way to Asahi and helped him with the stuff that he was carrying, making sure that you only took the light stuff in your arms. "Welcome home, love," you said affectionately and pressed a lingering kiss on his lips.
Unlike the usual, Asahi didn't wrap his arm around your waist nor buried his face on the crook of your neck. You frowned at the lack of affection but decided to let it pass.
"What's the occasion?" he asked, finally taking notice of the food you prepared. The smell of steak was still lingering in the air and despite how it slightly made you feel lightheaded, you held it in knowing how much Asahi loved it everytime you cook steak.
"Nothing," you said as you placed some of his stuff down. "I just wanted to make you some nice dinner since we haven't been spending that much time lately."
Instead of answering, he only sighed and flashed you an apologetic smile. He made his way to his seat and waited for you before eating.
Silence enveloped the two of you and you can't help but feel your palms starting to get sweaty. The way he seemed to rush his food made you feel as if he was only eating as to not offend you. As you were about to speak, he downed his glass of wine in one go before standing up.
"I'm finished. I'll go ahead to bed, okay?" your husband said as he placed a kiss on top of your head, the sweet gesture doing nothing to soothe the negative feeling bubbling inside you.
You stood up and wrapped your arms around him from the back, hands gripping each other to lock him to your embrace. "Love, I missed you," you murmured against his back.
"Y/n, I don't have time for this. I'm tired, okay?" Asahi tried to uncoil your arms around him and groaned when you won't let him.
"Don't want to let go yet. I know that if I do, you'll go to bed again and when I wake up, you'll be gone. Can't I have even just a little bit of your time?" Your voice almost cracked at the end as the toll of his absences finally made its way to you.
He applied a little force to remove your arms before turning around to face you, a deep scowl now present on his face as he stared down at you. "Time? You want time? I'm sorry if I don't give you enough. Unlike you who just stay at home and do nothing, I have work. I have priorities so I'm sorry if you think that I'm not giving you enough attention. Geez, y/n. I'm your husband, not your damn babysitter."
"You call yourself a husband when you can't even prioritize your own wife?" you spat angrily at him.
You knew that you offended him by the way his jaw clenched yet you stood your ground because you knew that the problem wouldn't be resolved unless you confronted it head on.
"I wasn't aware that it's a wife's job to nag at her husband nonstop," he spat back. "Stop being childish and maybe then you'll do something productive and not just spending your time sitting pretty."
Asahi didn't let you speak and opted on turning his back on you. Within a few seconds, you were left alone as the door of your bedroom slammed shut.
You felt your blood run cold as you stared at the door in front of you. "I'm sorry," you whispered, not to yourself nor to your husband but to your baby.
Quietly, you began to clean up the table and wash the dishes. You groaned as you felt an upcoming headache starting to form, no doubt due to the stress you're currently experiencing.
You dried your hands and turned off the lights before making your way to the guest room. Your husband basically slammed the door on you which means that he didn't want you to disturb him, right? So if it's space that he wants, it's space that he'll get.
You curled yourself against the bed, the empty space beside you making you feel lonely. You were used to sleeping beside Asahi. Despite him always coming home late, you never missed the feel of him pressing apologetic kisses on your skin.
It wasn't long until a sob escaped your lips. Your fingers gripped the pillow beside you tightly as you burried your face against the soft cotton, silently wishing that it was your husband you're embracing instead of the white material.
Unbeknownst to you, Asahi was just as distressed as you were.
He couldn't stop himself from tossing and turning as he anxiously waited for you to open the door and fit yourself in his arms. He didn't mean to slam the door at you. He only applied a bit of force not knowing that the impact would be that much.
God, he didn't even want to fight you.
But the feeling of stress and exhaustion from his work along with the expectations of people made him irritable which then resulted to him snapping at you.
Not being able to resist you anymore, Asahi swallowed his pride and made his way to the bathroom to splash his face with cold water to wake himself up before he talks to you.
But he guessed that the cold water was no longer needed.
Because there sitting on top of the toilet seat are two pregnancy tests with both positive results. He carefully picked up one of the tests and stared at it with shock evident on his face.
You're pregnant.
You're carrying his unborn child and he just shouted at you, called you childish and disregarded your feelings.
Instant regret made its way to him and he felt his heart rate picking up. "Shit," Asahi whispered to himself as he paced left and right inside the bathroom, hands gripping the pregnancy tests tightly.
Asahi quickly made his way to the living room, eyes widening in fear upon seeing you nowhere. He surveryed the whole house while calling out for your name and only stopped when he saw your curled up form inside one of the guest rooms.
He sighed in relief and made his way to you, gently scooping you in his arms to carry you back to your shared bedroom. He removed the few stray hair from your face and placed a small kiss on your forehead and both of your swollen eyes, obviously the result of crying.
"I'm sorry..." he whispered as he showered your skin with kisses.
"Azumane," you called out with a raspy voice as you woke up from the light feeling of lips trailing on your skin.
Your husband stopped what he was doing and looked at you. "You're pregnant." It wasn't a question, no. It was a statement, one that was enough to bring tears into your eyes.
"I am," you said with a nod and took his hand, placing it on the spot where your bump will soon make its appearance.
Despite being cover by the dress you're wearing, he leaned down and kissed your lower belly lovingly. Pulling away, Asahi shifted himself to lay beside you, his hand reaching for yours to bring it to his lips.
"Im so sorry for what happened earlier," he whispered. He took your lack of response as a signal to continue speaking, one hand sliding around your waist to pull you closer to him.
"Im sorry for shouting at you and for neglecting my job as a husband. I was too focused on proving myself to my co-workers that I forgot the person waiting for me at home." He let go of your hand and wiped your tears with his thumb, his hand cupping your face as you leaned to his touch. "Please don't cry, my love. You know I hate seeing you cry."
"It's your fault," you mumbled with a shaky voice. "It's just... It's so unfair that I'm your wife but I still have to ask for your time and attention when in reality, you should be the one to give those to me without me asking."
"I know. I know, love." Guilt and regret were evident in his voice and the more Asahi watch you let everything out, the more he hated himself for being a bad husband. "But I promise you it won't happen again. I'll be a better husband and the best father to our child. So please..."
You nodded and buried your face to his chest, his scent helping you calm down as you cried everything out. Your hand gripped the back of his shirt tightly as you sobbed in his arms, warmth enveloping you as he rubbed your back soothingly.
"You're okay, we're okay," Asahi whispered, pressing a kiss on top of your head as he held you without any intent of letting you go. "We're okay, right?"
You looked up at him with tear stained cheeks. "We're okay," you said reassuringly.
After a few minutes of enjoying each other's embrace, Asahi slowly pulled away. A whine escaped your lips making him chuckle slightly.
"You dressed up for me?" he asked as he raked his eyes down your figure.
"I wanted to look good for you," you said shyly. "I haven't got the chance to change since you basically slammed the door on me."
"I already apologized with words." Asahi gave your lips a peck before settling himself between your legs, eyes looking up at you as he slowly hiked your dress up, a gasp escaping your lips as his fingertips grazed your thighs.
"Now let me apologize with my actions."

Make A Scene
AMHL – Masterlist
Tumblr media
Dick immediately noticed when Y/N started getting quieter and quieter as they got closer and closer to the venue.
Bruce had hired a driver to pick them up from their apartment in Gotham. And the car had gone quiet now.
Dick reached over to gently hold her hand.
“Nervous?” He asked.
Y/N shrugged, not really seeing the point in trying to lie to her boyfriend.
“This isn’t your first rodeo, ya know.”
She gave him a look. “You know that wasn’t the same.” Her eyes flickered to the driver. “I wasn’t exactly…myself. And I wasn’t your girlfriend.”
Also, tonight they didn’t have the security and comfort of being at Wayne Manor.
No, instead this particular event was being held at the ballroom of Gotham’s most extravagant five-star hotel. It was a party for Wayne Enterprises, not a personal charity or party of the Wayne family.
Bruce had kindly asked Dick and Y/N to attend when board members and business partners started asking if the whole family would be attending. Jason hadn’t answered anyone’s calls or texts about it. None of them expected him to show up. Tim had to attend since he worked for Wayne Enterprises. And Damian…Well, Damian was his father’s son and not yet an adult. He basically had to do whatever Bruce asked of him while he lived under his roof.
“I’m not gonna leave your side,” Dick promised.
He squeezed her hand to further emphasize it.
Their car pulled up to the carpet at the bottom of the stairs.
There had to be a hundred journalists and photographers, along with random civilians who had nothing better to do than to see Gotham’s elite get out of cars and walk into a hotel.
Dick took in a deep breath.
Thankfully the car’s windows were tinted and protected them from any onlookers.
“Ready?” He asked her.
She nodded.
Dick opened the door and ignored the screams and flashes as he carefully helped Y/N out of the car with his offered hand. He also shielded her from the photographers to give her a moment to get out and adjust herself before they could capture any photos of her.
“Mr. Grayson! Mr. Grayson! Who is your mystery girlfriend?” Someone yelled.
Sometimes Y/N forgot that Dick was somewhat of a celebrity in Gotham City through association.
It wasn’t like people were asking for selfies everywhere he went. Or that the paparazzi were following his every move.
But in Gotham, people took note of where Dick Grayson went and who he was with.
And everyone noticed he’d had the same woman on his arm for quite some time now.
Even though Y/N and Dick had been dating for over a year, the media still couldn’t figure out Y/N’s identity.
What they didn’t realize was that she controlled every single piece of information about herself that lived on the internet.
They didn’t stand a chance.
Dick smiled and waved at people who called his name. But his hand other hand never left Y/N’s as he helped her up the stairs.
“Who are you wearing?” A female journalist yelled at Y/N.
She ignored them and focused on getting up the stairs without tripping and face planting. Not that Dick would ever let that happen.
However, she knew her outfit was going to draw gazes.
Y/N had made a promise to herself that if she was going to be forced to attend events like this with Dick, then she was going make a statement. People were already going to be staring at her, so she figured she might as well give them something good to stare at.
Instead of wearing a typical cocktail and formal dress, Y/N wore a full men’s suit that was tailored to perfection, but with the bowtie undone. It was what the fashion magazines would describe as “androgynous” in the press tomorrow morning.
Y/N wanted to control her own narrative. And she’d rather be judged for her bold decisions than just her trying to blend in.
Bruce insisted on paying for all the boys’ date’s dresses – in this case, suit – if they happened to bring one. He always thought it was more of an incentive for them to attend these terrible events if he encouraged them to bring significant others. And the press always had a field day with it, which only helped throw people of their trail when it came to their secret lives as vigilantes.
Everyone kept screaming Dick’s name as they walked in, and Y/N wondered how he got so good at smiling through the chaos and ignoring them.
Once they were inside, Dick felt the tension leave Y/N’s body a bit.
“Alcohol?” He offered with a smirk.
“Yes, please.”
He nodded, knowing it was exactly what she needed.
Quickly, he grabbed two champagne flutes off a passing waiter.
They clinked glasses.
Then he leaned forward and whispered in her ear, “Thank you for being my date.”
Y/N smiled at his sincerity.
Dick sighed before he threw back the champagne, “The quicker we find Bruce and prove we were here, the sooner we can leave.”
“Try not to sound so excited,” she laughed darkly.
Suddenly felt a small human wrap around her thighs.
Y/N gasped in excitement, “Dami!”
Dick smiled as he looked down at his 10-year-old brother hugging his girlfriend.
“Dick gave me the drawing you made for us. It’s so beautiful. I’m trying to find the perfect frame for it,” she told the boy.
Damian beamed with pride at that.
Suddenly the boy started asking a million questions about Stoker, one of his kittens that he’d given to them to take care of when Bruce gave a limit to how many cats Damian was allowed to have in the manor.
Then, to Dick’s shock, he saw Jason slowly walk over to them with his hands in his pant pockets.
He was not at all dressed nice enough for the event. No suit jacket. No tie. His white button-up shirt wrinkled, messily tucked into his pants, and with two many buttons undone. The sloppiness of it all clearly wasn’t an issue with the women, seeing as all of them were ogling Jason.
“Todd,” Damian greeted coldly, pausing his conversation with Y/N, who whipped around at the name.
“Hey, you,” Y/N smiled as she went to greet him.
Jason gave her a friendly kiss on the cheek and a quick hug.
“I really didn’t think you were coming,” Dick told his brother.
“Well, I wasn’t. But I got a business engagement.”
Y/N and Dick shared a confused look.
“What do you mean?” Dick asked.
“I found my neighbor crying on her fire escape a few nights ago. Apparently… one of the finance bros of Wayne fucking Enterprises was everything but a gentleman to her.”
Y/N’s eyes widened in realization. “J, I already took care of that.”
“I know,” Jason nodded as his eyes scanned the room. He was clearly on a personal mission tonight. “You deleted the evidence. I am teaching him a lesson.”
Dick slowly put together what they were implying.
“Oh, please don’t make a scene, Jason.” Dick begged him.
Because he knew Bruce wouldn’t be dealing with the aftermath; it would be him.
“Don’t worry!” Jason laughed. "I’m gonna take him outside before I beat the shit out of him. No one here will even notice. It’ll be fine,” Jason assured him as he gave Dick a far too heavy slap on the back.
“Just tell Bruce and he’ll get him fired,” Dick tried to convince him to take the less violent route.
“Oh, we already did,” Y/N muttered.
Dick’s gaze shot to his girlfriend.
“He’s getting fired on Monday,” she clarified sheepishly.
“Since when do the two of you work together behind my back?” Dick accused them.
But he wasn’t actually mad about anything – maybe just a little bit bitter.
Jason opened his mouth.
“I swear to God, Jason, if you say ‘club business,’ I will lose it…” Dick warned.
Y/N tried to hide her smile.
“Got him,” Jason growled as he glared at someone on the other side of the room.
As soon as he left them, Dick gave Y/N his full attention.
“Seriously?” He accused.
“I’m sorry! He asked me for a favor and I was happy to do it once I realized what it was,” Y/N defended.
Dick pouted a little. Mostly because he hated being left out.
“Don’t worry, ya big baby. I’m still your ‘guy in the chair’ and no one else’s,” she teased before giving him a kiss, immediately wiping the lipstick off his lips.
“How come Jason gets to beat up people at events like this, but I’m expected to behave like a well-trained dog?” Damian mumbled.
Dick sighed and shook his head.
“Jason likes to think he’s a lone wolf who doesn’t have to play by the rules,” Y/N tried to comfort the boy.
To distract Damian from getting further into how unfair it was, Y/N asked him to show her more of his drawings.
This seemed to please Damian and he pulled his phone out, flipping through photos and showing Y/N his recent sketches.
With Y/N being entertained by his youngest brother, Dick decided to go to the bar and get the two of them a stronger drink and maybe get a kiddie cocktail for Damian. He’d pretend to be patronized and annoyed by it, but Dick knew better.
He patiently waited for the bartender’s attention.
“So Gotham’s Golden Boy really has returned…” a husky voice uttered beside him at the bar.
Dick glanced over to see a beautiful woman close to his age eyeing him.
It was clear what she wanted. Dick used tactics like this on countless missions.
“So I have,” he answered.
He was polite, but distant.
Women hitting on him at events like this was nothing new. To Gotham, Dick Grayson was a Bruce Wayne 2.0 – younger, just as charming and handsome as his mentor and stand-in father figure.
Dick knew how to play the game. But he never had any interest in casual relationships like Bruce did.
“Back for good?” The woman persisted.
“My girlfriend and I are just in town for a few weeks,” he answered before ordering his drinks with the bartender finally.
“Oh, brought up the girlfriend rather quickly,” she laughed.
Dick quirked an eyebrow. “Is that a problem?”
“No, it’s just…my friends and I had a bet going.”
Then she pointed to a group of three young women, who were giggling and smiling, not even trying to pretend like they weren’t watching them closely.
“Oh, yeah?” Dick asked, already tired of this conversation.
--
Jason had already rejoined Y/N and Damian.
Y/N looked down to see his knuckles red with irritation and bruised.
“Please tell me there’s not a corpse in the alley behind this hotel now…” Y/N sighed.
“No,” Jason answered coldly. “Though there fucking should be.”
“What did he do?” Damian asked curiously, clearly he hadn’t been listening to their earlier conversation that closely.
Y/N shifted her weight in discomfort, not sure how to handle the subject with the boy. Yes, Damian was far more mature than many grown men, but he was still just a kid. There were some things Y/N felt like they should at least try to protect him from still.
“He got my neighbor too drunk to consent, filmed them having sex without her knowing it, and then showed it to a bunch of people at their work,” Jason answered bluntly.
Damian’s brow furrowed, clearly thinking long and hard about what his brother just told him.
After a moment, the boy perked up, “I know where we could hide the body so even father won’t find out.”
“Damian!” Y/N scolded.
But Jason was beaming.
Y/N looked around for Dick, hoping to find another sane person to stop the two boys from actually murdering anyone tonight.
But when she finally spotted him, she saw a woman standing far too close to Dick and pointing to a group of girls who flirtatiously waved and winked at both of them.
“Real cute,” Y/N muttered to herself.
“Vultures,” Damian growled as he followed her gaze.
“Jason, if I leave you alone with Damian, are you going to kill someone?” She asked without taking her eyes off her boyfriend.
“I don’t need to be watched,” Damian groaned.
“No, I need you to watch Jason to make sure he doesn’t change his mind about keeping that asshole alive.”
“Fine,” Damian whined.
Without any further confirmation, Y/N left them.
She walked across the party on a mission, never taking her stare off of her boyfriend.
Dick did a double take when he noticed her heading towards him.
“Hey,” he greeted innocently.
Because he was innocent. All he’d done was be polite to a bunch of women who were after him for his name…and maybe his good looks.
“I was wondering where my drink was,” Y/N said with a surprising calmness and smile.
Then she turned to the woman.
“Hi, I’m Y/N. You must be a friend of Dick’s.”
She held her hand out.
No cattiness. No rudeness.
Y/N said it with the same kindness that drunk women having with other drunk women in bar bathrooms.
“Oh…I’m Irina,” the woman stuttered as she took Y/N’s offered hand, clearly confused by Y/N’s niceness.
Dick held out her drink.
Y/N took it, quickly clinked her glass with both Dick and Irina.
“Cheers,” she sang before tossing it back and chugging the drink that was meant to be slowly sipped.
Dick didn’t know what game his girlfriend was playing, but he was intrigued.
Once Y/N lightly placed her empty glass back on the bar, she turned to Dick and tilted her head to the side. “Could you show me to the bathrooms? I have no idea where they are.”
“Of course,” Dick answered without knowing where this was going.
“It was nice meeting you, Irina,” Y/N told the woman as she linked her fingers with Dick’s and guided him away.
Meanwhile, Jason watched the interaction as if he were watching an award-winning movie. Him and Damian were way too far to hear, but everyone in the bat family could read lips more than fluently.
Then Jason smirked as he watched Y/N drag Dick away.
“Boys,” Bruce greeted as he snuck up on the two of them. “What are we staring at?”
“Oh, you know,” Jason hummed with hilarity, “just watching Y/N assert her dominance.”
“Good for her,” Bruce grinned as he realized what was happening.
He moved his attention to his youngest boy. “Alfred is waiting outside with the car. You’re officially released from your duties.”
“Finally,” Damian groaned.
“Don’t you wanna say bye to Y/N?” Jason asked.
“They’re coming to the manor tomorrow afternoon,” Bruce answered for his son. Then he raised a brow at Jason. “You’re welcome to join us.”
Jason’s only response was a shrug.
Bruce tried to hide his disappointment and nodded before he guided Damian away and walked him outside, where Alfred was waiting.
10 minutes later, Jason saw Dick trailing behind Y/N as she walked back to the main area of the event.
Jason burst out laughing at the spectacle.
Dick’s hair was an absolute mess. Half of his shirt was untucked. His jacket was draped over his forearm. His lips were swollen and pink. Y/N had left lipstick all over his neck and even a bit on the collar of his shirt.
Yet somehow not a single hair was out of place on Y/N and her makeup was still immaculate. Her outfit was just as sleek and clean as when she’d arrived. The only thing different was the proud smirk on her lips.
Clearly Y/N had just had her way with Dick.
But she wanted to make sure the whole party knew about it.
Y/N hadn’t said a word to Dick since she dragged him from that woman.
Her body did all the talking.
One second they were at the bathroom doors, the next Y/N had thrown him against the tiled wall after locking the bathroom door.
She gave no verbal explanation, just started kissing him and undoing his pants.
“Not that I’m complaining. Like, at all,” Dick laughed as they rejoined the party. “But wanna to tell me what that was all about?”
Y/N finally stopped walking and turned to face him with narrowed eyes. “I think you know, Richard.”
Y/N only ever used his full first name to provoke and tease him. And he hated that it worked every single time.
Dick glanced around to see that everyone in their vicinity was eyeing them. Well, they were mostly eyeing him and how it was clear he’d just been fucked in the bathroom.
He stepped close to her and lowered his voice, “Ohhh, I see how it is.” His eyes flickered down to her lips for a split second. “If a guy does that, he’s jealous and possessive. But if a woman does it, it’s sexy…”
Y/N proudly smiled like the cheshire cat. “Exactly.”
Something over his shoulder caught her attention. “Oh, I see Tim. I’m going to go say hi.”
Without hesitation, she brushed past him.
Dick let his head fall, put his hands on his hips, and laughed.
He’d pay her back later tonight. And by ‘pay her back,’ he would just tell her how incredibly hot her behavior had been and basically invite her to do it whenever she damn well pleased.
Dick felt a presence beside him, and he didn’t have to raise his head to know it was Bruce.
“Hey,” Dick greeted him nonchalantly.
“You have lipstick all over your neck,” Bruce told him as he took a sip of his drink and looked around the party. “And your zippers down.”
“Sure is,” Dick sighed.

Read Part 1
Pairing: Becca x MC (Emily)
Warnings: some swearing
Word Count: 2289
It's been an hour since Emily last came into my room to remind me of my doctor's appointment. And it's been about thirty minutes since I've been ready to go, physically at least. Naturally, I tried to get Chris to come with me instead because he's my boyfriend, right? Ughh fine, ex-boyfriend. But can you blame me, though? How am I suppose to move on when I literally have no memory of some sort of breakup or closure? I stare at the dull beige-colored ceiling, a view which has me panicking in the mornings right after I wake up, before I remember that I don't live at the sorority house anymore. I then close my eyes and get comfort in the memories I have left, my only anchor on the reality I knew, away from this freakish place with the people I don't even give a shit about.
After a couple more minutes, I begrudgingly get up with a groan and trudge downstairs, finding Emily waiting on the couch. She smiles upon seeing me, but I don't return the gesture, being genuinely annoyed at the prospect of having to spend an incessant amount of time with her. So instead, I walk past her towards the door, my heels clattering on the wooden surface. Emily then follows behind me from a distance, careful not to invade my space. Once outside, I walk straight towards the passenger door of Emily's junk of a car, grabbing the handle as I glare at Emily impatiently, waiting for her to unlock it. As soon as unlocked, I sink into the seat, slamming the door close harder than I intended. Emily, though, takes a second before going in, eyeing the seat suspiciously as if it might shatter anytime. Once seated, she places her hand on the gear stick, slightly trembling. And then it dawns on me, I may have forgotten about the accident, but it's probably still fresh from her memory, terrorizing her at every reminder. All this time, I've been complaining about how unfair everything is for me, not once considering how it may have affected her.
"Who was driving?" I ask. It may not be the best thing to talk about right now, but I have to know.
I see Emily flinch at the question, and before she even opens her mouth, I know. She looks out the windshield, her voice cracking when she replies, "I was."
I nod. My mom told me it was a drunk driver running a red light that hit us, so I don't blame her at all, not anymore.
"Is it–" The words come out sharp, so I stop and soften my voice. "Is it the first time you drove since?"
Emily doesn't reply immediately; instead, she shifts the gear and steps on the gas pedal as we begin to make our way towards the hospital. She grips the steering wheel tightly, anxiously looking at the road, her eyes obsessively sweeping for any oncoming traffic at every intersection.
"No. No it's not but..." Emily trails off, her knuckles turning white as her grip on the steering wheel tightens.
But it's her first time to drive with me in the car. I turn my head to look out the window, knowing full well I can't ease her fears. How can I when I'm the living reminder of everything she lost?
---------
I immediately regret my outfit choice as soon as we get into the waiting room, the frigid temperature biting at my skin, sending sharp pains like that of a needle across my exposed skin. I try to play it cool, but a shiver escapes my body, desperate for any source of heat. A few seconds later, a jacket appears in front of me, held by Emily who is wearing an annoyingly cute little smile on her face. I mumble thanks and take the jacket, placing it over my shoulders, smelling the scent of lavender as I bask in the comfort of heat.
I take out my phone and browse my socials, catching up on all the events I missed–or forgotten–while ignoring the get well soon messages from both people I know and don't know that have been piling up ever since the accident. A few minutes later, the doctor calls my name, and as I stand up, Emily does as well but then sits back down almost immediately, clearly unsure if her company is welcome.
I roll my eyes. "Come on."
---------
After a useless consultation–apparently, they can't do much to help me regain my memories–Emily suggests we stop by an ice cream parlor not far from here. I assent, but only because I need the comfort of a sugary snack right now, and it's been ages since I had one, or at least I think so.
We reach a store I don't recognize, replacing an office space that, while I never paid attention to before, was a pleasant fixture in my reality, not this... eyesore. I shake my head; I can't keep living in the past. I follow Emily into the store, reminding myself that this is my reality now.
Inside, the floor is patterned with alternating pink and black tiles, and the walls are coated with somewhat fresh pink paint adorned with decors that scream ice cream as if one might stumble into the shop looking for lunch or something.
"Welcome t–ah Emily and Becca! I haven't seen you girls in a while."
I turn around to see a guy, probably in his mid-twenties– smiling at us like...  I shoot Emily a side-eye. She, of course, fails to mention that the guy working here is buddy-buddy with me. So, is this the kind of couple we were? Those who frequent an ice cream parlor enough to be on a first-name basis with the ice cream guy? I internally groan in disgust at the thought.
"–Becca." I'm pulled out of my thoughts when I hear my name. Emily and the ice cream guy are looking at me expectantly.
"Sorry I didn't hear," I mumble.
"You'll be having strawberry, your usual, correct?" says the guy with a wide smile.
I do want strawberry, but I shake my head and say, "Vanilla," just to spite him, annoyed how some stranger knows my favorite ice cream flavor.
"Ooh, trying something new today, are we? One rocky road and vanilla coming right up," he announces in an annoyingly high pitch voice. I struggle not to roll my eyes.
"Where's the bathroom?" I ask, which is met by a look of confusion followed by a laugh.
"You know wh–"
Emily quickly interjects, "The bathroom's there, Becca," pointing at a door at the back of the store.
I excuse myself and go to the bathroom, heading straight towards the mirror. I stare at my reflection, nitpicking every tiny detail that has changed throughout the years, changes I don't recognize at all. A tear rolls down my cheek, but I quickly wipe it away. I'm Rebecca fucking Davenport; I don't cry. I grip the sink tightly, overcome with a new resolution. I know who I am; they don't, convincing myself more than anyone else.
Once finishing up in the bathroom, I head back outside, noticing a different aura in the room. Emily is holding our orders with an apologetic look while the ice cream guy regards me with pity, something I've grown used to in the past few weeks. I take my ice cream from Emily, not meeting her gaze, and walk out of the store, striding ahead of her towards the car, not once looking back.
--------
On the ride home, silence weighs heavily between us as Emily bites at her lower lip, either contemplating what to say or waiting for me to go off on her. After an awkward amount of time, Emily finally breaks the silence.
"I'm sorry I–"
"Forget about it," I cut her off, too exhausted to engage with her. I think about the previous encounter, wondering if that would be my norm. Unfamiliar people coming up to me, sharing inside jokes and anecdotes while I stare blankly at them, wondering if I should explain my situation or just ignore them, being the bitch I know I am. I stare out the window, seeing all the changes in the city, musing about the memories I may have had alongside them, memories that I may or may not recover. It's as if an impostor had been living my life for the past two years, and now I'm forced to follow in their footsteps. It's obvious I had changed a lot during those years, my previous enemies becoming my closest friends, my greatest rival supposedly becoming the love of my life. Was she the love of my life? Was I happy with Emily?
It's already dark outside when we arrive home. I notice a few cars parked down the road, something unusual considering this is the only house for at least a couple of blocks. What do I know, though, it's not like I remember much about this place. I turn my attention back to the house; the lights inside are turned off, leaving a lone street lamp and the car's headlights as the primary sources of light, accentuating the jagged grey bricks of the house, almost giving an appearance of something sinister. This is ridiculous; I chide myself for being scared of a stupid house.
Emily walks ahead towards the door while I follow a few steps behind. As soon as I walk inside, the light turns on, and I'm greeted by a chorus of surprise echoing throughout the house, coming from people whom I only recognize half of. I stare at them blankly, unimpressed but just mostly confused. My mother walks over to me and gives me a big hug.
"Happy birthday, sweetie."
Birthday? I inconspicuously look at my phone. Huh. I could've sworn I've seen the date today at least a few times. A few moments later, Emily steps forward with a cake in her hands.
"Happy birthday babe," she says, immediately followed by a look of horror. "Becca. Sorry."
Of course Emily had planned this. It doesn't really matter if I wanted to have a stupid party. She had to go ahead and decide for me.
"Go ahead and blow out the candles," my mom urges.
I blow out the candles, faking a smile for my mom. As much as I want to storm into my room, I'm not about to break my mom's heart by causing some unnecessary drama.
--------
Just a few moments into the party, and I'm already exhausted–people lining up to greet me, asking how I've been doing since the accident. I realize that most people here don't know about my condition, which means I have had to engage in quite a few conversations about the things I've supposedly been doing for the past few years, things I have no recollection of, to which I gave vague answers to avoid having to explain everything.
I down my fourth glass of virgin cuba libre, eyeing the display of alcohol with contempt, resentful that I can’t drink because of the medicine I took earlier, when Zack drags me across the room to play some truth or dare with a bunch of people, some of whom I don't recognize. Thankfully, if there was one thing the sorority has taught me, it's that you don't have to know someone to ask the right questions or expertly avoid the common ones. That is of course until someone asks you the most unexpected question.
"Do you have a date for the wedding yet?"
I stare at them blankly, fumbling for words. Wedding?
"I–I–"
But before I can make up an answer, Kaitlyn arrives with Emily in tow, and that's when I notice it, the ring on Emily's finger. I gasp for breath, feeling like the air is taken out of my lungs. And I almost don't notice it when Kaitlyn takes out her guitar and starts singing, joined by the others.
When all the tears are rolling down your face And it feels like yours was the only heart to break When you come back home and all the lights are out And you're getting used to no one else being around
Oh, oh, I'll be there
I look at the unfamiliar faces, singing their hearts out, gazing at me fondly. I then turn my gaze to Emily's ring finger, and sitting on it is a small but glistening diamond and part of me chastises myself for not noticing earlier. I feel the entire room’s eyes on me and suddenly, it becomes too much for me to withstand. I stand up, scrabbling to go to my room, footsteps following behind me. Once I got on the stairs, Emily shouts my name from behind, and I stop at the sound of her voice, turning around.
"We were engaged? Why didn't you tell me?" My voice comes out harsher than expected and it seems to take Emily by surprise too because she just stands there motionless, speechless. “Marriage is a big thing Emily, that’s not something you can just conveniently not tell me.” I let out a frustrated groan, momentarily letting the anger wash all over me before I’m left with a bitter feeling in the pit of my stomach. “I’m sick of having random people tell me things about my life which I can’t even remember when my own fianc–” I stop, not even being able to say the word, shaking my head as the agony brought by my predicament proves to be too much. “I can’t do this. I'm sorry," I croak before running towards my room, slamming the door behind me. I then curl myself in bed as the tears fall freely.

No, But I am Trying- Din Djarin x Reader
Forget Me Not Masterlist
This is the highly requested part two to Do you Remember?
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy!
Summary: After a long week, you and your husband try to work through the new routine. (I suck at summaries, just please read it, you won’t be disappointed.)
Warnings: memory loss, a tad bit of angst, mostly flufff
Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s been a long and hard week. Your husband has been telling you all about your life before. But none of it has stuck. He asks you everyday if you remember something, and it pains you when you have to tell him no. It hurts to see those eyes glimmer in excitement but then to snuff out as he tries to hide his disappointment.
“Oh well, it was worth a shot.”
“Yeah, maybe soon.”
It’s always maybe. That’s a word you’ve come to appreciate more these past few days. Maybe. Not never and yet not when. He gives you the chance but still doesn’t expect you to remember. The perfect balance.
You appreciate this, how much he has been supporting you recently. However, you still feel awkward around him. You have no idea what your relationship was like before and how you acted. And so the two of you have been moving at your pace.
He still hugs and touches you: hands on shoulders or lips on foreheads. But he doesn’t ask anything of you. The worst is when he reaches out and stops himself, realizing that you’re not the same anymore. He doesn’t think you notice it, but you do. And to make it even more terrible, you want him to reach out, to show you what it was like before.
Sleeping arrangements have been… interesting recently. You both decided for the time being, you having your own space is the best option. So thus, he has set up your old bunk before the two of you got together. He offered you as many blankets as your heart desired. Big fluffy comforters and soft blankets with firm pillows. His excuse being, “Don’t want you to get cold.”
Tonight is no different, after saying your goodnights you pad over to the bunk and climb in under all the sheets. Enveloped in what you imagine as his arms, but in reality are just too many blankets that smell too heavily of him.
You toss and turn, trying to quiet your racing mind. It just feels lonely. More lonely than you’ve felt before. Usually once you fall asleep you forget all about these dreadful feelings. But tonight it seems even more powerful. Like if you don’t go to him you’ll suffocate.
But you can’t. The two of you agreed that at night time it’s alone time. Plus, he probably has enjoyed his own space, a quiet area where he can think and ponder. But, you already know you’re not getting any sleep tonight.
Cursing at yourself, you bite the bullet and stand up, keeping one blanket wrapped around you. You walk over to the shut door of his bunk and just stand there. Leaning back and forth you weigh the pros and cons of actually being here. But before you can the door slides open.
“Cyare?” His head lifts from the blanket, eyes still closed as his curls fall to frame his face.
“Oh umm, hi.”
“What are you doing?” He slides up to sit. When you give no answer he turns to face you. He leans his back against the wall and opens his thighs, making a spot perfect for your body. “C’mere, won’t bite.” His voice is gruff and raspy from sleep.
Slowly nodding your head, you slide in up against him. Your back fits right in against his chest. His arms wrap around your shoulders and pull you closer. Strong and powerful thighs frame your figure. His large feet stick out from the blanket.
You rest your head on his shoulder and close your eyes. His own head tilts down and presses a kiss to your neck before falling back against the wall.
It’s warm in his embrace. His hold promises you security. It’s nice. To be held as if he let’s go you’ll fade away. To feel small and tucked away from the world. As if no one and no thing can reach you besides him. Your chest swells with adoration and relief at his silent whisper of protection.
You feel safe… in a way you never have before.
In this moment he holds you down to earth. Like an anchor to a ship. Or the thread that leads to a kite.
Before you can even register it, tears have started to fall from your eyes. They roll down your cheeks and land in large drops on your arm.
“Hey, hey, why are you crying?”
Taking one shaky breath, you nuzzle into his neck further. “I don’t know to be honest.”
You can feel his head bob as he gives a slow nod, his mind working to try and find a response. His hand lifts up and wipes away the fresh tears. “Are you sad?”
Shaking your head, more tears fall. “I think they’re happy tears.”
“Happy tears?” His voice is even more hushed, he’s not really asking you, more repeating what you said so it can process a little faster. “Why are you so happy?” He nips at your neck, his facial hair tickling your skin.
“Umm.” You stop and truly try to find a reason. “I think it’s because I’ve never felt so safe before.” Trying to think back, you can’t bring up any memory where you’ve felt as secure.
Your husband slowly nods his head, egging you to continue.
“Like, I just… right now, in your arms, I feel like nothing can harm me. And I guess, now that I’m thinking about it, I’ve never really had that feeling before.” The both of you stay silent for a moment. “It’s nice.”
His arms give you a squeeze. “Cyare I-... you have no idea what this means to me.” His lips kiss the top of your head. “I wish I had the words to tell you how I feel, but I don’t.” His head falls into the spot between your neck and your shoulder.
You can hear the sadness in his voice. “It’s alright, just you being here tells me everything I need to know.” One of your hands trails up to softly comb through his curls. He stays still, breathing in your scent.
How is this man able to do this to you? To break down every single one of your walls and yet still make you feel empowered.
“Did you do this a lot before…?”
“Do what?”
“Hold me. Like how you are now.”
He leans away from your neck, his head falling against the wall as he looks up towards the ceiling in thought. From the soft light of the buttons and switches in the Crest you can see his eyes start to water. “Many times.”
“Oh.”
Oh is all you can say. It’s all your mind can offer you right now. Because yet again you’ve disappointed him. Why can’t you remember these things?
“Let me try something?”
You look at him and nod.
Slowly his hands reach for your face as he urges you to face him. When you do, he rests his forehead against your own. You watch as he closes his eyes, and you follow him. “Ni kar’tayl gar darasuum, par gar cuyir ner kar’ta.” He murmurs that phrase back to you like a chant.
It’s almost like a tidal wave has overcome you. Memories of him doing the exact same thing flood your brain. In public, in private, everywhere and anywhere. Whenever you sat next to him he uttered those words to you. Such a simple phrase and yet it holds so much meaning.
Gasping you open your eyes and take his cheeks into your palms. “I- I remembered.”
His dewy eyes open in a flash and he stares right into your own orbs. “What did you remember?” He can’t mask the excitement in his voice.
“This.” You press a kiss to his lips. “I remember how whenever I was near you, this is what you would say to me. Ni kar’tayl gar darasuum, par gar cuyir ner kar’ta. I know you forever, for you are my heart.”
His own tears have started to fall as he smiles. “You do remember!”
“I do!” You both laugh as he pulls you into a strong hug.
“Oh cyare. I love you so much.” His cheeks are wet from his own tears.
“I love you too.”
He slides the two of you down, so you are laying on the bed. You pepper his cheeks with kisses and finally settle down on his chest.
Speaking to you in mando’a, his voice acts as a lullaby as you finally fall asleep. Your emotions exhausted from happiness, sadness, and excitement all balled into one big draining emotion. But it’s given the two of you light.
A wish.
A glimmer of hope.
No…
A promise to get your memories back.
The Right Decision
Title: The Right Decision
Prompt/Day: Day 4 - Ron catches Hermione in a moment of Self Doubt
Tumblr Name:
Rating: PG
Brief Summary: Hermione questions her decision to return to Hogwarts for her seventh year.
TW: Insinuations of lemons ahead, but no actual lemons.
*****************
Ron finds himself wandering around aimlessly outside the Burrow. Somehow, three months have passed since the end of the war. His life has finally fallen into a comfortable rhythm, only for things to make a drastic change at the beginning of September.
He’ll be starting Auror training with Harry, and Hermione and Ginny will be returning to Hogwarts. Reality is setting in now that the girls have received their Hogwarts letters, and Ron still isn’t sure how he and Hermione will handle being away from each other for an entire school year. It will be the longest time apart since they first met and became friends.
Of course, they’ve talked about this at length, and Hermione has already worked out a timetable of opportunities when their schedules will allow them to see each other in addition to the holidays.
Things will be fine, he tells himself. We’ve survived much worse, and we’re finally sorted.
He continues roaming the property, looking for Hermione, newly appointed Head Girl. The woman who has been the focus of his thoughts since she disappeared shortly after receiving her letter.
Ron sees her sitting against a tree, her letter lying forgotten on the ground next to her, and he hears sniffles. Is she crying? He walks up to her with quiet footsteps and sits down. There’s no need to say anything, not yet anyway. Instinct tells him to wait it out; she’ll talk when she’s ready. He places a comforting arm around her shoulder as she leans into his embrace.
“Am I making the right decision?” Hermione’s voice is small and unsure.
“What do you mean?” Ron asks for clarification. He thinks he knows why, but he needs to hear the barmy words come from her mouth.
“Going back to Hogwarts? Is it the right decision? Maybe I should search for an entry-level job at the Ministry instead so you and I can—”
“Hermione, stop.”
Ron turns his body, bringing his hand to tilt her chin up so she meets his gaze. “We’ve talked about this. I know how much finishing your education means to you. So yeah, you’ve made the right decision.” He attempts to sound reassuring, but worries his tone may have been a bit harsher than intended.
“But what about us?”
Ron lets out a snort. “Reckon we’ve been through a lot worse, don’t you?”
“But what if you—what if—”
Ron raises an eyebrow and tries to anticipate the rest of that thought. “What if I…” he urges her to keep going.
“What if you meet someone else?” Hermione averts his eyes as she finishes the question.
His first instinct is to laugh at the absurdity of her question, but in all honesty he’s faced the same thoughts when he can’t sleep at night. It’s more likely that she’ll meet someone else than he will; at least that’s what his demons have convinced him of.
“I’ll be so busy with training, and helping Harry at Grimmauld Place, plus picking up shifts at Wheeze’s that I won’t have time for a social life, ‘Mione. I’ll be just as happy writing to you and reading your letters during my down time.” He squeezes her shoulder. “Plus, Harry’ll be caught up with Ginny, too, so I doubt anyone will want to spend time with us two lonely gits.”
Ron kisses her forehead and she offers a weak smile. “Things are just going so well that I—”
“I know. I’m worried, too,” he cuts her off, “but we’ll make it work, and I’m not letting you drop your plans to be Head Girl and graduate at the top of the class just to be with me. Don’t s’pose I’d look too great in the history books if I got in the way of the ‘brightest witch of her age,’ do you?”
He grins and finally Hermione returns his smile. “Thank you.”
“No need to thank me. Just don’t go running off next time you’re upset, yeah?”
Hermione nods before nuzzling into Ron’s chest. “At least we’ve still got two weeks.”
“That’s true.”
“And there’s a lot we can accomplish in two weeks.”
The insinuation is not lost on Ron. He feels his cheeks grow hot as her hand trails across his chest. “Think we should get started now?”
He can feel her smile against him. “You read my mind.”
Part of Ron wonders if she planned this all along, but the thought slips away as fast as it appears. She’s right. They’ve got two weeks and if she wants to make the most of it, he’s happy to oblige.
PRESENT DAY
Staring out the big windows that display the snowy weather of Davenport, Iowa. I retraced the journey that lead me here...
FLASHBACK - 8 YEARS AGO
“Y/N? Where are you, babe?”
From the bedroom I heard the loud thump of his duffel bag being tossed on the floor
“Oh, there you are! I’ve been looking for y- Are you ok?” He urgently asks, running to me
“Seth, I need to talk to you”
“Uh Oh, those words are an omen for bad news” He whispered
“Please, seat down” I ask and he oblige
“I have to do this quickly, like a band-aid” I murmur to myself
“What will you have to do it quickly, Y/N?”
“I can’t stay here”
“What do you mean? You don’t want to live in Iowa anymore? That’s ok, we can move to Florida if-“
“No, Seth... I mean, I don’t think we should be together anymore” I whispered with tears in my eyes
“You wanna break up? But why? Have I done something wrong? Because if I did I’m sure we can work it out a-“
“No...”
“You don’t love me anymore?” Seth asked with hurtful eyes
“I do, I do but-“
“I love you too, Y/N. So, end of story!” He huffed
“Seth, I wish there could be an easier way-“
“Why are you doing this? What changed your mind? Did you fell in love with someone else? What is it, Y/N?” Seth screamed
“I don’t think it’s fair ok? Babysitting while I’m injured is not fair to you, having to stay here waiting for you to come home is not fair to me, holding you back from enjoying yourself with other women is not fair to you and wondering if you have been sleeping with other women night after night is not fair to me. So let’s stop it before we hurt each other”
“What? First of all, I don’t babysit you, I TAKE CARE of you because I love you! Second of all I NEVER cheated on you and you know that. I FaceTime you every night until I fall asleep, just so we don’t feel lonely, because I know how hard this can be! I’ve been on your shoes...And for the record, you’re the one who’s hurting me with this breakup bullshit thing”
Seth tugs on his hair from frustration, pacing around the room
“I’m sorry, but is for the best Seth” I caress his beard, memorizing every feature of his face
“These are the painkillers, the stress and the injury speaking not you...It’s not you, right baby?” He asked in despair
“I’ll always love you Seth, you’re an incredible man and someday you’ll find a very lucky girl who deserves you”
“No, I want you! You deserve me” He grabs my suitcase, trying to pull it out of my hand “You’re not leaving, I won’t allow it. You’re not going anywhere” Seth tugs on the suitcase.
“Seth, please don’t do this” I beg
“No” He sobs “Please don’t do this to me, please don’t leave me, Y/N. I need you, I love you, I can’t live without you” Seth grabbed my face softly in his hands “Please tell me that you’re kidding me, that this is a prank...Please Y/N this can’t be true. Tell me you still love me, that we’ll be together! I can’t-“ Seth began to cry uncontrollably
“Shhhh...I’m sorry, baby. You’ll be fine. I promise you, you’ll be ok” I try to comfort him
I laid with him on his bed one last time, enjoying his bearded cheek on my chest one last time. Running my fingers through his hair gently, reassuring him that it will all be fine. When his sobs were replaced by a soft snoring, I stand up from the bed, covering Seth’s body with a blanket. Pecking his lips for the last time, I grabbed my suitcase, slowly closing the bedroom door and leaving behind what it used to be my home.
FLASHBACK - 7 YEARS LATER
The last thing I wished was see him again, the last thing I wanted was to end up in SmackDown with him and of course that God was in his jokester mood today and decided to deliver me this little joke called fate.
“Y/N? I can’t believe it!” Roman ran to me, giving me a bear hug and successfully spinning me around the arena’s hallway.
“Oh Lord, calm down you Samoan beast! Jesus” I laughed loudly
“I didn’t knew you were back! Why didn’t you told me?”
“I didn’t wanted to draw to much attention” I trailed off
“Because of Seth?” Roman asked and I just gave him a sad smile as an answer
“You can’t hide forever, Y/N. You know that, right?”
“I know... I just need a few days”
“Or not” Roman said, pointing with his chin at someone behind me
I felt his presence before I could see him
“Y/N?”
I turn around to meet his gaze, it had a mixture between surprise, pain and...love?
“Hello, Seth”
“Oh my God, it’s been so long” He reaches his arms for a hug but ended up changing his mind “What are you doing here?”
“I needed a job, so” I laughed lightly
“I thought I would never see you again”
“Looks like destiny has other plans” I mumbled
......................................................................
For the next two weeks I bump into Seth everywhere I go: arena, hotel, gym, convenience store, liquor store, diner, bar, even at a club’s bathroom line! The chemistry between us was still there, awake. Even after all those years my body called for him like some sort of drug. And I would be lying if I said that I didn’t wanted him back, not just for the sex but for everything else.
I’m at the local Starbucks when I meet him again (it’s the fourth time today), I had to put an end to this so I decided to talk to him about everything that happened in the past.
“Sure, we can talk about it” He shyly answered
We chose a hidden bench at the local park to sit down
“Thank you, for agreeing with this”
“It’s fine, Y/N” Seth weakly smiles
“Well, first of all, I would like to apologize to you. For everything I did back then...I wasn’t thinking straight and I don’t know what took ahold of me to have made such a dumb decision”
“And it took you 7 years to realize that?” He asked, sounding hurt and mad at the same time
I shook my head “No, to be honest with you, I regretted my decision when as soon as I got home”
“Why didn’t you called me then?”
“Because I thought you would be angry at me, wouldn’t want to see me or talk to me. The mere thought of you rejecting me was unbearable” I whispered
“And how do you think I felt?” Seth spat “Do you think it was fun for me to wake up and find out you were gone? I called you Y/N, I texted you, I called your brother, your sister, even your mother! I sent you emails, I went to your house, I tried everything I could to get you to talk to me. Just so at least I could get some type of closure, but you never gave me that opportunity. You shut me off, pretended I never existed, erased me from your life and now you expect me to do what? To welcome you back in my arms? To say that I missed you and that I was waiting for you all those years? Is that what you want? For me to stop my life completely just so you can enter it again and ruin it again once you decide you‘ve had enough of me?”
The only thing I could do was to remain silent, I knew Seth and I knew that sooner or later he would end up lashing out and saying everything he always wanted to say for those past 7 years, so I just sat there and took it like a big girl even with the tears rolling down my eyes. Afterall, I was the one who brought that to myself.
“I can’t do that, I gave you too much power the first time and I will not give you the same power again! When you left I hit rock bottom Y/N, my life was partying, booze and pussy. I almost lost my job because of that! Do you know how many nights I spent awake thinking of you? Crying over you? Trying to understand what had I done wrong for you to leave me like that? Do you know how many women I fucked thinking about you? Wishing they were you? Wishing to wake up in the morning and find you laying there by my side? Wishing that it was all a nightmare? Now you come here, 7 years after the shit storm and say that you’re sorry and that the thought of me rejecting you was unbearable so you just left? You know what, Y/N? Fuck you! Fuck you and your shitty apology, I don’t need this bullshit! I’m better without you, now I can fuck whoever I want, whenever I want. Without having to worry about their incapacity of having a relationship because of their stupid and childish commitment issues” He stood up and left
And now, by the irony of fate, I’m the one who gets abandoned now.
......................................................................
I got his message that day in the park, he doesn’t want to talk to me, so I do exactly that. I leave him alone. I never met him at random places anymore after that day.
It has been a month since I came back and any hope I had of settling things with Seth went down the drain.
I’m finishing zipping up my duffel bag when someone knocked on the locker room door
“Yeah? It’s open” I screamed
“Hey, can I talk to you for a second?”
My heart stopped when I heard Seth’s voice
“Hi, umm sure. What’s up?” I ask
Seth closed the door behind him
“Can we sit down?” He points to the small leather couch
I nodded, sitting down by his side
“I wanted to apologize to you” He started “The things I said to you that day at the park were unnecessary, I should’ve dealt with it in a better way”
“It’s ok, Seth. We both know I deserved” I weakly smile at him
“No, you didn’t! Even though I was confused and hurt, I didn’t had the right to do that to you. I truly am sorry”
“It’s ok, buddy. Apology accepted” I patted his knee and he holds my hand there
“I’m going to ask you something, but I need you to be completely honest with me, ok?”
“Of course”
“Do you still love me?” He asked and my whole world stopped
I looked down to my feet and honestly answered “I never stopped loving you, Rollins. No matter how hard I tried”
His only response to me was a cheerful grin.
1 YEAR LATER - PRESENT DAY
“What are you doing staring out the window, baby? It’s fucking freezing! Come back to bed” Seth’s arms circle around my waist, trying to pull me back to bed
“I’m enjoying the snowy morning view” I chuckled
“Meh” He scoff “I have something more interesting for you to enjoy if you come back to bed with me” Seth smirked
“What possibly could be nicer than this view”
“Hmmm, I don’t know...maybe something thick and warm that slides in and out of you, maybe?” He bites my neck and I can’t help the little moan that escaped my lips
“That sounds fun” I grab him through his boxers, teasing him
Seth moans “Oh you’re gonna regret that”
He picked me up in his arms right before tossing me back onto his bed....
Please if you’re comfortable with it let me know your thoughts on this? Feedbacks are always appreciated 🥰😘
