He messed up. He was aware of that. Lilia had just wanted to prank his beloved with a fake snake thinking it would get them and afterwards the two of them could laugh it off since it was so silly. Well, he thought it was silly at least.

What he didn't realize was the absolute fear of snakes his partner had. They didn't realize it was fake so they were nearly driven into a panic attack by what he had done. Once he had gotten them away from the scene and told them that it was a fake, they were incredibly mad at him. They stormed off, not wanting to hear anything he had to say.

He hated being ignored and avoided by the person he loved, so he knew he had to win them back. He had to find a way to apologize to them. He racked his brain, trying to plan out the best way to do so. He decided on a cute couple picnic in a meadow near the school. He talked about his plan with Silver, who quickly offered to cook the food for him since he didn’t want his father’s partner to suffer from his attempt at apologizing.

So with Sebek in the kitchen with him to make sure he didn’t fall asleep and get hurt or set the kitchen on fire, Silver made a suitable little dinner for Lilia’s little picnic. All that was left to do was to get Y/N to meet him in the meadow. This was no small feat since they were giving the old Fae the cold shoulder.

Silver offered to go fetch them, and was successful in getting them to agree to meet him there under the guise of him needing help with something that he slept through in class. Y/N just had no idea that Solver wouldn't be there at the agreed upon time.

When Y/N finally got to the meadow, they almost turned around but Lilia's hand gripping their arm stopped them.

"Y/N, I know you're mad at me, and you have every right to be. I just wanted to apologize to you before I lost every chance to.." The Fae released his angry partner. "I had forgotten that snakes upset you that much. I didn't have malicious thoughts in mind when I thought of the prank. I just thought it would be funny to see your reaction."

"I know you didn't do it maliciously," Y/N said after a moment's hesitation. "I was just upset at that moment and wanted to calm down before talking to you again.. I didn't want to lash out at you because I figured you had forgotten. I'm also sorry, sorry that I ignored you for so long… I just didn't know the best time to approach you again."

Lilia smiled, "Well, I'm very happy we sorted this out, love. Would you like to join me for dinner?"

"Of course, dear."

For context I'm hafu Japanese Canadian

For me it depends on like the situation like "I hc this character as X because of XYZ canon reasons" vs "this character is now X because I said so" like the first is at least there's I guess a reason? Like oh these things remind me of my race or my experiences so I like to see this character as this (so long as they don't push these HCs on others) vs the later which just reminds me of my various childhood memories of people arguing with me that (insert character) cannot be Japanese because they don't look Asian/Japanese to white people (so many arguments over charas like Ichigo (Bleach) and Usagi/Serenity (Sailor Moon) because they don't have black hair and squinty eyes so how can they possibly be Japanese /s)

I definitely understand why other AAs/ACs don't feel comfortable, given how often that it is a common experience and how we're often told we don't need representation in American media because we have anime/kdrama/etc. Which is like okay? But if our only representation is in Asian based media (Often Asian media for Asians) then why should we share? It's not necessarily a good mindset to have but I think a lot of minorities, in general, share or have shared that mentality.

Others have brought up the point as well, you are erasing cultural context and other minorities for yourself when you do this (general you, not you specifically) and (at least I've found) sometimes doing your own culture a disservice, you make them speak a different language sometimes and say they're a different race and that's it (which like okay? I guess)

I don't think there's a straight answer and not everyone is ever gonna agree, obviously, but it doesn't feel actively harmful as much as it feels disrespectful, like, why do you feel the need to change a characters race? Are they not relatable enough to you, are they not good enough for you unless they are your own race?

I'm rambling but yeah, it's definitely a complex topic

TL; DR: you're gonna make someone mad regardless of how much you reason or how much it makes sense to you, do so at your own risk

yeahhh like I've seen fics where ppl have made characters certain religions & I don't think that's bad bc ppl can change their religious beliefs, but they can't change their race, so we should be more careful abt what kind of things we're hc'ing yk? & yeah I know a lot of ppl w that mindset and whilst it's not Good, I think it's at least understandable that ppl will want to hold onto what representation they have of their own community and not include others since they are excluded from other ppl's media. it's nice to see the west have more diversity in media now and actually have it be made by poc so it's an accurate representation (thinking of turning red but I haven't finished it so no spoilers pls </3) & I hope that encourages more ppl around the world to do the same (like ali in squid game!! <3) & yeahhh it comes as more disrespectful like... race is impt to their identity and erasing that is taking away a part of who they are/how they've grown etc. idk imo we should just leave things that we can't change as it is originally, & if u want more rep then u can make oc's yk?

Me rambling about a favorite childhood cartoon🦇

Has anyone seen School For Little Vampires/ Die Schule der kleinen Vampire? It was my shit as a kid/preteen. 

A quick summary of the show: 

It’s about this little vampire called Oskar , who goes to a boarding school for vampires which his uncle is the headmaster of. He has a deep fear of blood and is in love with a human girl called Sunshine , who’s grandfather is the town lunatic and a vampire hunter.

At the school there are five other students- Mad scientist  Leency , Cutie-Pie Klot , Ashley the ash pile , Gothetta the vampire Hermione Granger , and Stoker the troublemaker. 

I highly recommend the show , it’s adorable , gothic and it makes me laugh. I believe it’s on Netflix , not sure since I don’t have Netflix , but some episodes are on YouTube as well.

hi minnie <3 i’m doing alright! i just feel kind of tired lately especially with all my hw 🥺 school’s been going pretty good for me, but i have a math retest coming up (i got a 66 the first time 🙈) so i need to start studying for that 🤧

- oh i recently got my learning permit for driving so my dad has been taking me,, and i don’t know if it’s normal to be this nervous but i really hate it sm 😭 my dad kind of expects me to improve quickly and he also keeps pressuring me to go faster which really scares me 😣 yesterday my dad made me drive home, when i only have experience driving in the parking lot (i’ve only been behind the wheel around 6 times), and it was genuinely terrifying … i really hope i get better quickly so i don’t have to do lessons every week 🫠

- also my parents have recently started asking me what i want to pursue once i graduate and i’m honestly not sure at all, like everyone else i know seems to have everything figured out except me 🥺 and idk if it’s okay or not but my parents have been scolding me for it … it’s honestly been making me kind of feel less than or just not good enough sometimes. yesterday my parents scolded me a lot and as soon as i went to bed, i just started crying and cried for maybe around an hour. i honestly cry a lot but sometimes it makes me feel as if i’m too sensitive or if i’m just overreacting 😔 i’ve been getting rejected a lot from some of the things that i’ve applied too so i worry that i’m just not good enough compared to my peers and it’s honestly my biggest complex bc i feel like i might be putting myself too much 🙁 i honestly don’t know to explain but my mind just feels really like tense rn and it’s hard for me to feel happy about everything … i just hope that everything lightens up soon

ahhh I relate to the fear of driving. it has only been half a year for me since I got my license and my fear is still there but only because I barely get to practice 🤧 but it does really get easier and I hope you're already seeing improvements! as for tips... I don't think I have any other than drive as much as you can because experience really is the key here. and try to stay calm when you're being scolded (I still have not mastered that point either) or your emotions will make you drive even worse 😭

and no, I don't think it's okay for your parents to get mad at you over smth like this. you are still learning and need guidance and patience and that is not achievable by shouting and negative energy.

I do tend to cry a lot too but you're not too sensitive or overreacting. you know why? because your feelings are valid. every person is different and no matter what their feelings are okay and totally normal. I get shouted at when I cry so it's hard sometimes to remember it but if that is your way of showing emotions and releasing stress and that is totally okay and you shouldn't be ashamed of that <3
