dragon age is such a mess of a game. timeline is fucked and makes zero sense. some plotlines and character arcs get a complete turnaround between the games because another writer is now in charge. the mental gymnastics of self-proclaimed grey morality never ends and somehow always manages to surprise you by getting even worse. lore has been retconned to fit into new game's concept so many times you don't even know if it's worth to try to analyze and base your theories on it. also these games have such a grip on me i own every one of them both volumes of world of thedas and one of these half-baked books. i keep recommending them to my friends and will pre-order every dreadwolf edition possible even if it's overpriced and going to ruin my whole dragon age experience once and for all. i think their effect on people should be studied in labs
