Non-binary awareness day

International non-binary peoples day occurs on the 14th of July each year. The sun is to raise awareness and visibility to  non-binary people around the world. 

It was first celebrated in 2012, and the date was chosen for being between international men’s day and international women’s day. 

Non-binary awareness week is the week following non-binary awareness day.

Welcome! We are the South Town Angels system, and we have a fair share of Nintendo introjects who would like their own space to interact with other Nintendo introjects.

About the Blog -

All asks can be sent by anyone who is an introject of a Nintendo source (Mario, Fire Emblem, TLoZ, FZero, Star Fox, Metroid, etc.), all we ask is that you do not send an ask unless you fit the criteria or are sending this on behalf of another alter. If you have a Super Smash Bros. non Nintendo source, you may post here so long as your source is specifically the Smash version.

You may vent to us, but they will always be handled by Mod E / 🫐 to ensure you can get a proper response (you may also signal "no replies" in the vent so he can post it as is). This tag will be listed as: nintendroject-vents if you would like to blacklist it.

Hi, I'm in the process of getting tested for both PCOS and NCAH, so I think I likely am intersex but I just wanted to share part of my story if that's alright.

(cw- genital talk, sorry) I was born with an enlarged clitoris and a hypertrophic, partially fused labia. No surgeries were performed but my parents were told that I would qualify for 'cosmetic surgery' if I wanted it when older. My parents were also told my genitals were 'slightly unusual' but also 'common amongst girls.' I was assigned female and raised that way, without any question. I don't think my parents have ever considered I might be intersex. It simply wasn't acknowledged.

I have struggled with gender dysphoria for a long time and only recently put the pieces together (in my case, ambiguous genitalia + slight hyperandrogenism) that I am intersex. I guess I'm just feeling confused. Was I really intersex from birth, or were my doctors right? If I had known earlier, could I have predicted the PCOS/NCAH diagnosis that I'm currently seeking? Does it matter?

I think that discovering so much about myself all at once (my mother only recently admitted to that doctor's commented on my genitals) is a lot to take in. Sorry for this messy rant. I suppose I just want reassurance that it's okay to feel lost, but also found, angry, relieved and a million other things.

Thank you so much for sharing. Your ask really resonated with me. I have CAH and recently found out that at birth, doctors spent a long time commenting on my genitalia and refused to assign me a sex for several days. For a long time, I had thought that my intersex traits only became noticeable at puberty, and it really was a shock to learn they had been visible at birth! Even though I had always been intersex my whole life, it was overwhelming to realize that information had been purposefully hid from me.

Intersex variations are lifelong and congenital, meaning that every intersex person is born intersex, and will always be intersex throughout our life. If our intersex traits aren't visible at birth or that information is hidden from us, many of us might not find out until later in life, when our intersex traits become noticeable, or when we can investigate our intersex traits as adults. Every intersex person is intersex our whole lives, and all of our experiences are valid.

It is a pretty common intersex experience that when we have intersex traits at birth, a lot of time our parents are not told that we are intersex, and doctors use a lot of euphemisms to talk about our genitalia and surgery options. It sounds like you are intersex, have been intersex since birth, but that doctors were not interested in exploring to make a diagnosis at birth or sharing that information with your family. If you're able to access your medical records, sometimes more specific information can be written down that might give context to comments doctors make, but that isn't always accessible.

I know how overwhelming it can be to learn all these new things about your body and experiences, and I really do want to affirm that it makes so much sense that you would be navigating these complicated feelings of loss and relief at the same time. It can finally feel like things are clicking and that you've finally found something you've been missing your whole life, but also at the same time feel that rage and grief that you weren't able to access that knowledge early to be able to understand yourself. Especially when we have painful, difficult, or confusing experiences with our bodies, our gender, dysphoria, etc, it can feel really complicated to discover that we're intersex and that if things had gone differently, we might have been able to navigate those experiences differently. You deserve to have room to explore and express all these feelings, whether that's through talking with other intersex people or just expressing your emotions in any way. If you want support during this process of self discovery, you are welcome to send an ask off anon to join our discord server, or join support groups like InterConnect and Club Intersex.

Really just want to send all the good energy your way, and know that you are absolutely not alone in what you've shared. This is such a common intersex experience and we really understand the emotional roller coaster it can be to navigate all this. You are allowed to make your own meaning from this and decide what matters to you, and you are in control of any steps you want to take to seek or not seek official diagnosis and testing.

Intro Post!

This blog is an ask blog for 'The Unlucky Few', a DND party that takes place specifically in the Icespire Peak Campaign. This is this friend group's first attempt at hosting an ask blog, so bear with us! We'll also be reblogging any stuff associated with these guys. (art, writing, memes, yada yada)

Rules:

No NSFW asks, 3/4 of us are minors, so if you did.... that's weird man. not ok.

Be patient with us, we're doing this for fun.

Don't be rude about our art/characters, it's unneeded. Preferably don't insult in character if you actually want to be answered, lol.

Do be silly! this is a silly concept in general so.

Trigger Warnings will be updated when we find the time, but be warned that most of these guys have pretty dark backstories.

Anyway, with that boring stuff out of the way, time to introduce the characters! (If this goes not-terribly, we'll add more!)

Pangari Caldwell

(She/Her, 29, Human Warlock, Asks are Answered by mod M)

Best (affectionately) described as your local disaster goth girlfriend, Pan is probably the most likely to answer questions. (The truth of the answers... well... they'll depend on how deep your questions are.) Charismatic (but also very petty), she takes on the role of face of the party. She... uh, doesn't like Kev very much. Her and Elpis get along well, though.

Kevvoril Sebastian

(He/Him, 29, Half-Elf Monk, asks are answered by Mod A)

Dry and dull compared to Pan's charisma, Kev plays the literal (British) straight man to the rest of the party's shenanigans. If you manage to get him to respond (he's not exactly... talkative), he'll at least respond honestly, but maybe with a bit too much detail or general brooding. Probably both. As stated above, Kev and Pan do not get along. The characters he's closest to are Sasha and Henry (neither of which are askable.... atm.)

Elpis

(She/Her, 26, Tiefling Bard, Asks answered by Mod P)

Despite her devious grin, Elpis is probably the least intense out of the bunch. She's introverted, so getting her to answer an ask might be a little bit difficult. She'll be answering pretty honestly. Probably. She's definitely pretty silly, though. Her life has been rough but she's less outwardly depressed about it. Fair warning, though, she's loosely based off of hit character Patroclus from hit piece of literature The Illiad. She's just waiting for her Achilles to be able to be asked things.

Zephyrine Cirrus

(She/Her, 19, Air Genasi Rogue, Asks answered by Mod M + Mod E)

Zeph is a fairly relatable character for us tumblr users. A fairly moody teen, who would much rather be reading than actually socializing with people. She'll answer your asks, but will seem generally bored of them unless they're about a favorite novel, or something similar. She's not exactly the most fleshed out of these guys, but she's chilling.

Nemorae Alloway

(He/Him, 17, Air Genasi Ranger, Asks answered by Mod E, and I promise the second version isn't his design. usually. you can request it though)

Nemo, the poor little sad guy he is, will probably not answer incredibly clearly. He's that kind of pathetic teenager that you see frequenting the 'not very cool kids' table. He's not horrible to be around in the slightest, he just makes you consistently sad. His problems are of a different variety to Pan's, Kev's and Elpis', but they still make you feel bad.

Here's a quick intro to the mods: - Mod M (she/they) (the one writing all of this! woo!!): I'm Pan's player, and I'm the main manager of this. (I helped draw the icon!) - Mod E (She/any): Drew Pan and Kev, and will be acting as assistant manager basically. She's the player behind Nemo, and is probably the most passionate of all of us about this blog. - Mod A (He/him): Kev's player, but only sometimes will be answering these. He'll answer pretty exclusively for Kev. He doesn't draw, so it'll prob be Mod M or Mod E drawing responses. - Mod P (They/Them): Elpis' player, and the one behind her art. They'll probably be drawing Elpis (and their other characters) if you send any of em any asks. They're the only one without tumblr.
