Okay not to be that person but I'm getting really sick and tired of hearing/seeing people be mean, so stop.
And yes, labels can be fluid and contradict each other sometimes <3
Bi lesbian is a valid sexuality
No hate on my dash.
Edit: Adding on real quick, nb people can be lesbians If you identify as a lesbian.

Exclus: “Bi Lesbian is a new made up term”
Actuality: “Bisexual Lesbians are a large and irremovable part of the Lesbian community, even if many Lesbians treat them with insults, ignorance, stereotyping, exclusion, rejection, invalidation, and worst of all, silence”
- Bi Women Quarterly, 1983
(Not that it matters if the term is “new” or not to begin with)

If you’re not inviting to the “weirder” genders and sexualities, you’re not as progressive as you think.
I literally don’t care if your gender identity is the Joker and your pronouns are why/so/serious or if your sexuality is sun you’re attracted to different people depending on where the sun is.
“But the right isn’t gonna take us seriously ” no matter what, the right will never take anything but heterosexual and two genders seriously.
“But it doesn’t make sense” so you’re saying that because you don’t understand, this person’s life experience is invalid. Sounds like right wing behavior to me.
“But then people could pretend to be queer/trans” oh no, the horror (how many shocked emojis should I add to capture this). It’s totally not like this is happening already. And pretending is totally rewarding enough to keep doing for the rest of your life.
What happened to “yes, we do have 87 genders and we’re going to create 5 more every time you complain”? Gender and sexuality is fucky, it doesn’t make sense and people shouldn’t be punished for not making sense.
You’re valid. Being mspec (whether that’s bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, polysexual, etc), mspec gay/lesbian, a straight gay, a straight bi, etc, is valid.

I have a simple rule for life that can be applied to anything and anyone:
You can't gatekeep someone's existence
This rule applies to a wide range of identities and people, here, let's give a few examples;
Bi Lesbians are harmful beca-
You can't gatekeep someone's existence
Aspec people aren't LGBT+ becau-
You can't gatekeep someone's existence
A lesbian can't use he/him pronouns bec-
You can't gatekeep someone's existence
If someone says they're X but you don't like X so you try to undermine their identity or somehow call it "harmful" then you're the problem, it's hard enough trying to just exist while openly not a cishet white guy and if someone finds a label that fits it is not your job to tell that person that Um Akshually That Label Which Aligns With Your Lived Experience is harmful because blah blah blah, it is your job to say I'm happy you're figuring yourself out and then move on with your day.
The only "identities" that are harmful are bigoted ones that actively attack others, so basically only Super straight morons and terfs. anyone else, it's not your fuckin problem. If someone says the split attraction model helps them articulate their feelings and experiences even when not aspec, you don't get to be the final say in telling them they're not "allowed" to use it, I'll say it one more time for the people in the back:
You can't gatekeep someone's existence
Thanks for coming to my fuckin Ted talk if you have to bitch my inbox is open so I can easily block you have a nice day

The "words have meanings" posts are so irritating in their smugness and single mindedness. You know words have meanings, but they also have cultural and community based histories, that give them a personal and dynamic meaning to different people. When someone seemingly has contradicting identities, it's best to hear them out on why. I have overwhelmingly found that they have good reason.

"I've never seen a definition of bi lesbian that doesn't misgender trans women-"
Then either you've:
a) Never actually done research on this identity in good faith.
b) Exclusively searched in TERF/lesbian separatist spaces to find your definitions.
c) Victim blamed trans women for calling out blatant TERF dogwhistles because it's easier for you to shift the blame onto trans women rather than taking accountability for supporting a transmisogynistic ideology (lesbian separatism).

"bisexual lesbians don't make any sense!! They invalidate both bisexuals AND lesbians! Lesbianism explicitly means NO attraction to men!!"
Wow it's almost like non-binary people exist that arent men or women!
It's almost like gender-fluid people are sometimes women and sometimes men and sometimes something else!
It's almost like non-binary people aren't just quirky woman-lite!
It's almost like strict sexuality labels are impossible to enforce when the genders aren't in neat and tidy boxes and it's none of your business when people create their own space to feel comfortable!!

Gloomy Lesboy / Gloomy Turigirl For lesboys / turigirls who are gloomy and dull. Not a very serious term, just a quick redesign of the current / most popular flag designs :] I love dark and dull colors

Lesbians can be:
- Trans women
- Non-binary
- Mspec (Bi, Pan, Omni, Ply, etc.)
- TransMasc
- Aromantic
- Asexual
- Abro
- He/him or they/them pronoun users
- Neopronoun users
- Etc.
Stop trying to restrict what Lesbians can and can’t be.

This would usually be a main blog post, but with what was happening i wanted a bit of positivity.
Tumblr media
I am not a lesbian, nor am i super well versed in queer history, but i know that “bi/pan lesbians” is a term that has existed longer than twitter, and if some people took 2 seconds to look it up, they’d find that it has a very important place in queer history.
I got this explained to me by somebody who knows what they’re talking about (ty!) but if you don’t, i’ve found this article that i think covers a good section of the controversy. Although, if you’re up for it, i reccomend doing your own research.
I am not perfect, if i got some wrong i would appreciate you tell me
