Pattern in my OTPs: Sadistic! Top x Fearless! Bottom

Dont mind me, just self-indulging about my OTPs

Anyways!

Recently, I've noticed that I have a certain type when in comes to my OTPs which is a sadistic top paired with a fearless bottom. Granted, not all of my OTPs are of this type but I dont think its an exaggeration when I say that at least 90% of them are like this

GinHiji

Out of all of my OTPs, I'd say GinHiji pretty much embodies my favourite type of OTPs. Gintoki is canonically a Sadist and in fact, is known to be a Do-S alongside Sougo. Contrasting him is the fearless yet tsundere Hijikata. Another reason why I like them is the manzai combi they have. Hijikata is forever exasperated by Gintoki and cant help but be the tsukkomi to Gintoki's boke 🤣

BakuDeku

These 2 have a very complicated relationship but thankfully have improved a lot especially in recent years. Bakugou can be quite sadistic but considering what's happened between them and him canonically wants to do better, I think it'll take awhile for Bakugou to let out that sadistic side of him around Deku

With Deku though, he doesnt mind and I think we all can agree that Deku is a disastrous combination of fearless and reckless 😅

One of my 1st OTPs since high school. Now, I dont think i need to tell anyone who's ever read or watched KHR that Mukuro is hands down quite terrifying and considering his introduction, has a sadistic streak a mile wide

For Tsuna, yeah....while its true that he tend to be more afraid than not but as time went on, it became more apparent that he's grown to be couragous and fearless when it comes to his Famiglia

granted, this is more of a crackship since Kamui and Shinpachi barely interacted but I like how their personalities mesh together. Kamui is another canonically sadistic chara in Gintama, anyone who's ever seen him fight in the Yoshiwara or Silver Soul arc can attest to that. Not to mentioned all of the shenanigans and mayhem he likes to cause with a deranged grin

Shinpachi is noted to be fearless in his own right, capable of accomplishing feats that other normal humans would feel impossible to even try. cant forget that he's also the one who made Utsuro pause before the timeskip

plus, they're also a manzai combi! a Do-S Yato boke with a glasses tsukkomi XD

ParaEmu

initially, i like them as a switch couple but recent years make me lean more of them as a fixed pair with Parad as a top. starting out as a villain, Parad was noted to be quite sadistic especially when he possessed Emu. He's since mellowed out but since we dont see much of how the charas are post-canon, its hard to say if he retained his more sadistic nature. i tend to hc that he does but only lets it out when needed

if anyone knows Emu's not so pleasant childhood and how he's risen to overcome many obstacles in life, then i think we can agree that he's become one of the most fearless charas in Ex-Aid

Wei Wuxian is one of the most fearless charas I've ever had the pleasure to know about. the way he holds onto his morals and convictions even as the whole world turned against him is nothing short of inspiring. born with a smile and a noble heart that's matched by his beloved husband Lan Wangji

while he's not sadistic in the usual sense, Lan Wangji in the novel is known to mercilessly tease his husband especially in :ehem: bed. not to mentioned that when he deems it necessary, this man never hesitates to swiftly cut people down with just a few words right at jugular too

a suicidal former Port Mafia who's known to torture people paired with his steadily fearless were-tiger. i love their dynamic

Miyuki Kazuya is canonically known as twisted by both allies and opponents alike even feared to the point of petrifying the target of his ire with just a glare.

Sawamura Eijun? the fearless sunshine boy who overcome odds that would and have retired many players from the game. the Yips arc was remarkable in showing Eijun's strength and determination

KaiShin

the trickster who can easily manipulate law enforcements and enemies alike. its more noted in the early chapters of the manga, but Kaito was more callous. while thats no longer the case, Kaito is still quite unhinged

Shinichi? well, with all the reckless stunts he's pulled over the past 20+ years, i think fearless is an understatement for this detective

LawLu

the recent addition to my OTP list. LawLu is the one that made me realise that I tend to favour sadistic tops when I was trying to articulate Law's preference in my HC

thats when I realised that Law has a sadistic streak in canon. while its not explored all that much since he's an ally of the Straw Hats, we see hints of it. combined with the fact that he's a nerd, big on plans and control, he's a terrifying force. this is the same guy who cut opened 100 pirate hearts and sent them to the Marines

Luffy? he's fearless as they come. overcoming many hardships and coming out stronger. who fights for freedom and nakama even if it means facing death. hell, its canon that he's not afraid to face death for what he believes in

Tsuna Sawada will always be a loser and even towards the end of the manga he still is one and I will always love him for not changing. Face it all those reunion fics I used to read back in the day really be enjoying giving every person who bullied or were mean to him give everyone face slaps as if i'm reading a chinese revenge dogblood danmei novel lol. This is pre-2017 I belive when I binged a lot of fics in the previous years of that particular KHR era lol. So take it in mind my knowledge was from back then.

Hell this shit is even applied to his parents especially Nana like maybe I can go more indepth if I have time in another post but like this women certainly loves her child. I know the infamous chapter really got me heated not gonna lie I don't think the way she treats her kid is fine but damn sometimes I feel she be villainzed too much. From the way I see their relationship it's one of love but I don't think Tsuna could rely on his mom when it comes to emotions and feelings hell he avoid it together it's kinda why he was a little shit if I remember correctly in the beginning of the manga but what 13 year old isn't. Like their relationship is more she wants her child to be like his manly father and hopes he can grow out of his ugly ducking dame tsuna phase but he can't because it's more than that the dude whole school normalizes calling him dame tsuna instead of his actual birth name and the way the faculty treat him and his peers who go back and forth in their treatment of him if he surpasss their expectations they acknowledge him if he doesn't he goes back to being just lame old tsuna. So tsuna gives right up at the start then even try because he's afraid at the attempt he'll just fail. Iemitsu I get 100% because he prioritzes work over family and expects his son to be like his mother and be fine he shows up out of nowhere. I'd be pissed too. Ironic he's the 1 shounen protagnsit with 2 parents that just aren't that great as role models or when it comes to teaching him but they do love him certainly. It's why when it comes to the basis of how their characters are written yes there are defintlly problametic things going on because of how dysfuncitional they are as a family but they do love each other so I really dislike it a lot back in the past since a lot of the times writers really try to up and take it to a 100 to make both of them more hurtful or cruel in fics than they are in canon just to really give them faceslaps X double. And the result is Tsuna being a depressed sucidal kid to really get it and the fic writer just blackening the parents even more lol. Like please a little nuance would be appreatied in their family dynamic would be nice.

Tsuna no matter what anyone says is a strong kid. He really doesn't get bothered like I don't recall him talking shit about the students in his school who bully him like yamamato and him are straight parells in their treatment because I'm damn sure yamamato has to be aware of others treatment of Tsuna because it's a refelection of how he could end up if he becomes a failure too. One tries their hardest to be the best and tries to jump because he can't handle it no more. But Tsuna the other isn't even bother by his mistreatment wtf he's just Tsuna he's normalized it but he isn't a sucidal depressed mess he's just accepts he can't do it and says welp whatever and he's fine. My boi is strong.

I know some can't accept how the ending is. But, You're reading KHR so many weird things are in the manga that make 0 logical sense and I just go through with the motions accepting it. A baby for a tutor, oh Mukuro went through literal hell, oh what do you mean fucking time travel is involved. You really expect me to care that much how the ending went lol. KHR is a legit a parody telling of a shonen manga, which evolved into a real shonen later on.

I get the appeal but Tsuna is Tsuna. I think he's a normal boy who doesn't fit the shounen mold and himnot fiting the package kinda fit the bill because he doesn't suit the audience fantasy on how they want their MC's to be. They want him to be a Naruto how everyone who hurt him apologize or acknwledge his awesomeness but nah Akira Amano really just sticked to this dude core character from start to finish. Tsuna grew when it comes to areas he lacked but he never changed about his personhood because that sorta what makes him define the story. Tsuna being himself got him allies and people who rely and look towards him and what made Reborn impressed with his student. He defines the genre he's like is a Deku from BNHA reversed when it comes to their development.

WHAT IS YOUR OTP FOR YOUR CHARACTER(S)?

Me, an indecisive person cannot choose a ONE true pairing with Haru. I could probably reason my way through shipping her with a whole legion of different characters if it's done a certain way. Still, I do have some biases.

Haru with Hibari, Yamamoto, and Gokudera are my strong biases. Honorary mention to Belphegor (bc it was a ship on this blog at one point), and Byakuran (look LOoOOOOooooooK, it was in the works at a time, okay? I said I could reason most things if it's done a certain way and I meant it)

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?

In general, +/- 5 years has me feeling a bit uncomfortable. Larger age gaps... are acceptable if certain circumstances are met-- like she is an adult and she's met them as an adult. Possibly.

I'd say so? I care about chemistry and me understanding the dynamic between two muses. To elaborate, as much as I enjoy Hibari and Haru, if I don't know how the other person writes and portrays their Hibari, I will not immediately say yes. I have to understand how they write their muse and see how that muse interacts with my muse.

Once I get a good feel for that, and if I think I can get along with the mun, I'm more or less open to giving it a go.

... man... this is an out Neo question. There was a time when there was talks of an AU Tsuna x Haru ship (I know, it's a shock for me). There were also talks of Mukuro x Haru in an AU (lol don't judge me, okay? I enjoy challenges) From a personal standpoint (non-rp) kinda thing, I've also liked to think on Basil and Haru, or Shoichi and Haru. I won't lie, Enma x Haru had my attention at a point too.

Look... in the Haru interviews she did say she likes them kinda dangerous and wild and my brain goes: lol so Ken? AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH (did I mention that while I also like a challenge, i'm also a troll?)

Omg sure let me see what I have I wasn’t expecting this.

Kokuyo Gang x Hibari Headcanons

• They’re very confused about his relationship with Mukuro. He’s the only one Mukuro didn’t save it was actually the opposite so they don’t know how they came to be whatever they are. It changes daily.

• They speculate about how weirdly close they are but it’s out of jealousy.

• Hibari finds the idea of Chiksua to be kind of irritating because he is similar to him in matter of demeanor and Ken points it out a lot when making fun of them. He feels like he has a taller more apathetic clone. • Mukuro is the only one who can’t see how alike they are because in truth he doesn’t find either of them to just be quiet an distant given their personal relationships with him.

• The gang actually knows where Hibari lives because they had to go get Mukuro from his house once. Hibari’s mother thinks they’re exchange students.

• They’ve eaten dinner there once, it ended in Mukuro and Hibari beating Ken up for having no table manners. Chiksua has photos.

• Only Chrome and Mukuro are allowed over. Mukuro is annoyingly polite and less irritating in company of others given his acting skills and Chrome would rarely take the invitation to stay. He despises MM because she flirts with Mukuro nonstop and just wanted and excuse to never have to sit next to Ken and Chiksua in his house without the freedom of fighting them again.

• After fights Mukuro might ask about the sweets his mother keeps at his house. They’re both very fond of coffee jelly they eat it alone together and never invite anyone else. It’s not on purpose it it becomes one of their things to do.

• Because the gang knows his mother they run into her at the supermarket sometimes and that’s how they get invited for dinner.

• Hibari will sleep on the Kokuyo roof sometimes when he’s noticed Mukuro has been gone for a while.

• He comes around when Mukuro is away sometimes to get answers but is met with the same questions by the gang.

• He doesn’t mind them and admires that they aren’t always crowded on one place unless it’s necessary.

• He finds Ken to be disgusting and uses hand sanitizer when Ken touches something he touches.

• Chiksua is really funny to him but he doesn’t respect his choice of weapons

• He never speaks to Fran directly , ever.

• Ken calls him birdie because he thinks hibari moves like one when he fights and keeps a pet bird

• Mukuro has broken Kens thumb for touching hibird once and almost setting Hibari off

• Hibari doesn’t ask to hang out he just shows up and waits for Mukuro to appear when he senses someone on his territory.

• He doesn’t actually participate in the stupid shit the gang does he just naps near them without being irritated

• They all like playing charades but the one where there’s a card on your head.

• Mukuro got pineapple once and Hibari was the only one not scared to tease him. They fought and lost half the cards.

• They invite Hibari to their birthday activities. He surprises them by bringing a gift , they’re all moved but he doesn’t realize this until he gives Ken a present and he cries.

• He allows them to come over from time to time on rare occasions because aside from Tsuna he knows more about their childhood and thinks the least he can do is let them watch a movie in a real house with him.

• Hibari understands the gang more when when Mukuro tells him Ken and Chiksua are like his roll and hibird , little animals he happens to be fond of for an “inexplicable” reason. He treats them as such.

• Roll accidentally pokes Ken but Ken is infatuated with the animal like a dog would be. Hibird recognizes Mukuro and Chiksua and will sometimes sit on their shoulders but he sits on mukuros pineapple.

• They tell Hibari a lot about Italy , it becomes the only other place he’s interested in seeing aside from namimori.

• They each have a place they want to show hibari although he’s only interested in seeing Mukuro’s because he’s strolled through his illusions with him before and knows he is fond of beautiful things like that.

• He leaves whenever they start talking about moving back to Italy saying it doesn’t concern him. They’ve become his friend group and he kind of hates the fact that this isn’t their home but understands he’d want to go home too.

• even chrome would go with them which sucks. and he finds he actually likes her and even allows her to eat lunch on the school roof with him

•sometimes Mukuro joins them

• On Hibari’s birthday they give him a jacket , but it’s like Mukuro’s jacket so it’s different from the normal school uniform with little accessories his armband says delinquent instead of it’s usual saying. He wears it sometimes if he’s just running errands.

• Mukuro gives him a pendant necklace made from a piece of his trident and tells him if he Knicks his finger on it then he could posses him sometime.

• Hibari uses it once when Mukuro goes MIA for half a year Mukuro visits his dream to ask if he was in mortal danger or something.

• He’s an Honorary rascal

Summary:

After the death of his grandfather Fu and the ‘accident’ that damaged his mother’s mind, Tsuna found himself becoming the new Guardian of the Miraculous.

It’s not that he’s ill equipped to handle the situation, but more that someone is wrecking havoc in Japan using powers that are far too similar to Miraculous Gods and Tsuna doesn’t have a Black Cat to balance his Ladybug.

Enter Reborn, a diminutive hitman who is supposed to turn him into a mafia boss. Tsuna really doesn’t have the time for that nonsense.

Headcanons for this AU:

-Aged-up characters. The kids are sixteen/seventeen and in high school when the Daily Life Arc start.

-After the fall of the Order, Fu is determined to repair some of his mistakes. He goes back to the temple and looks for the Peacock and the Butterfly Miraculous until he finds them, then he flees.

-Nana is Duusu’s true holder, but repairing the brooch has broken her mind. That’s why she’s so oblivious and absentminded.

-Reborn hates the Back Cat Miraculous as much as he loves it. Every time he uses it, he transforms back into his adult body. It doesn’t make the burden of the pacifier disappear and would Reborn be a lesser man he would be crushed under the weight of the curse and the disappointment of changing back into a baby once his time was up.

-Endgame would be Tsuna x Reborn because I’m weak. Or I could keep it Gen, and Tsuna and Reborn are very, very close, but don’t have a mentor/mentee relationship. The thing is, since the Black Cat and the Ladybug are all about balance. Tsuna teach Reborn about the Miraculous while Reborn teach Tsuna about the Mafia. It’s a mutual relationship. No one is ‘above’ the other.

-Spanner is Irie’s internet penpal. They met on a forum about robotics and hit it off. Spanner, a minor, decided that he really liked Japan from what his friend was telling him and moved to Namimori. To this day, Tsuna still doesn’t know if Spanner has family members who miss him or if he even has a visa.

-Tsuna’s flames weren’t sealed because he was with Fu when Nono and Iemitsu visited so he didn’t activate them.

He’s still a bit of a loser in school, but that’s because he has other things to worry about than school: his mother’s and grandfather’s health, his guardian training...

After Fu’s death, he has to balance guardian and Ladybug duties with school and so doesn’t put much effort in the latter

-The Miraculous holders are all Tsuna’s guardians. None of them are actives, except maybe Hibari and Mukuro, but Tsuna chose them because they felt right.

-Mukuro arrives in Namimori when Tsuna is fourteen. He’s looking for a place to lay low while the dust he kicked up settles in Italy. He choose Namimori because he met a young girl while dream walking and her flames signature is so close to his own that he can’t pass it up. He wasn’t expecting Tsuna.

-As a matter of fact, no one is ever expecting Tsuna.

-The reports about Tsuna that Reborn gets from Iemitsu are utter garbage. The Hibari have long since intercepted the CEDEF’s plants and they are feeding Vongola false infos about their towns and their inhabitants. They will not accept any casualty like Tsuyoshi’s wife ever again.

-The Kwami are really, really not happy about Checker Face.

Who did that baby face alien thought he was? They were the ones regulating the balance of this world like they always had since the creation of the universe. They didn’t need some snot-nosed brat who was hiding in their town to make decision about the world without consulting them and undermining all their hard work!

Kawahira may or may not disappear. Tikki, in particular, looks really smug when they receive the news.

Personal headcanons that are true for all my AU:

-Namimori is neutral territory and they are a lot of retired criminals living there. The Hibari are in charge and don’t take well to outsiders coming for the people under their protection. Yamamoto Tsuyoshi is not worried about his son, because after his former employers tracked him down and killed his wife, the Hibari went on a rampage and eradicate Tsuyohi’s former yakuza clan.

-As a civilian Sky, Tsuna was never told that there could only be one of each element under his Sky. So it’s very surprising for anyone in the mafia to realise that he has two Lightning, two Storm, three Mist...

-The Rooster Miraculous’ weapon is a bow and their holder’s costume has a limited numbers of feathers. Each feathers is an arrow. Once all the arrows have been used, the Miraculous start beeping and they have five minutes before they detransform.

As experience grow, others Miraculous gain more minutes, except the Rooster who gains more arrows.

Enma x Tsuna is super cute. They truly have the potential to understand each other’s struggles and help each other grow more. 

I like Squalo x Xanxas too, but only when it’s healthy? I remember (back in the old days) reading some really good fics where their relationship was explored more and grew into a healthier dynamic. But, on the other end, I have seen some portrayals where they just yell at each other and fuck, so there’s that. 

Randomly, I also keep seeing the rare pare for Yamamoto x Bel and the fanart is super cute???? So that gets an honorable mention. 

15. What is your favorite arc?

Any of them except the future arc, fuck the future arc

Hrrrrrnnnn, I have a two different answers for different contexts here. 

When reading: Varia arc. Love those bastards, and even though the Mukuro arc was the turning point where the genre basically changed, the Varia Arc was the oh shit this is basically a different series now moment for young me. 

For writing: Rainbow Representative Arc. Because what really kept me loving this series despite its flaws is the characters. And that arc just basically brought of all them back and threw them all together, which has so much potential for writing all the different and new dynamics that can easily come from the chaos that is the representative battles.

One of my favorite fandom things is to see the protagonists of other stories as the background characters in fanfic for a completely different story. An example would be, say, the Inuyasha cast as the background ninja manning a border outpost. Not as protagonists in their own rights, but as obviously enough themselves that you can fill out their stories, lol. Do you have any characters you think would be great for that? Even OCs! And how would you need to adapt them to not be protagonists?

I also enjoy that trope! I don’t see it as often as I like? Or, well, I don’t see it often as more than just “I needed five names and I might as well use these names” as opposed to a more integrated “these five characters would work well in this universe, here’s a little easter egg for my readers”

I do something similar in Naruto/DoS fic… maybe not “protagonists” of other stories but definitely would-have-been secondary characters in other stories are still around.

For example, the teammates of my other Naruto fic. In Counterpoise it’s Ringo Nohara and Zakuro Yuuhi who graduated two years before the Rookie Nine and then in Externality it’s Komadori Ouba who graduated the same year as Team Gai. And then, I guess, arguably Kiyoshi Utsugi who is the main character in (In)Difference and possibly Kakashi’s mom?

All three of them are alternate universes but the first two–Counterpoise and Externality, that is–are alternate universes in a different way from (In)Difference. Because Counterpoise and Externality are “what if X character existed and were relevant to Naruto/Naruto’s story” ie Konran, Naruto’s twin sister or Tetsuki who helps Naruto graduate a year early and thus becomes his genin teammate. 

Whereas (In)Difference is an AU of “what if Kakashi’s mom was an SI!OC/had knowledge of canon” even though, when I was first building her I didn’t make her with being Kakashi’s mom in mind. I made her to be a kunoichi of an age with the Sannin and then had to figure out what would make a good teammate for Dan Katou (aka Tsunade’s boyfriend) and That One Guy who was on the same mission as when Dan died and who ACTUALLY HAD A NAME? aka Kunugi Mokume. So, like… with those two in mind, who would make a good teammate abilities-wise and then… it just kind of… grew into well, I guess she’s Kakashi’s mom.

I’m getting off track. So… even through (In)Difference is an AU, Kakashi obviously still exists so his mom must still exist so I just generally use “Kiyoshi Utsugi” as his mom whether or not it’s the (In)Difference version who has canon knowledge or not. But in Counterpoise and Externality, that’s the only instance in which Konran Uzumaki and Tetsuki Kaiza exist [in the Naruto world]. But their would-have-been-teammates still exist without them, so I use them pretty frequently as like. “Oh, I need a character who’s approximately this age and would be in the RnD department. Let’s use Komadori” Or “Hey, this person is going to the hospital but it’s not a major injury so they’d have a baby medic look at it, here’s Ringo.”

I actually designed Ringo and Zakuro to be the “those two guys” for the Konoha Twelve? Like, not part of the group, obviously, but a background sort of… like Izumo and Kotetsu?

So, I guess, the how do I do it for these characters is more of a… well… I took away their genin teammate so they didn’t pass their assigned jounin-sensei’s test so they went into Genin Corps/Medic Corps/had an apprenticeship or whatever… which I guess is kind of bleak.

Um…

I also had a fairly recent almost-use of this concept. In more of a fleeting daydream-y than a full brainstorm-y way and it had more to do with a reaction to a BnHA fanfic I read that then spun wildly out of control…

Izuku never gets One For All. He doesn’t go to UA. He doesn’t become a Hero.

But heroism isn’t just for the professionals. Neither is happiness or Family.

It’s a vigilante!Izuku, basically. But, specifically, a KHR!vigilante!Izuku.

I’m talking a reverse Tetsuki Kaiza ‘verse!

Just kidding, knowledge of Tetsuki Kaiza is not needed (ALTHOUGH)

The idea actually came to me as a weird knee-jerk response to bakudeku fic Just Like The Comics by brichibi which I do recommend if you A) like bakudeku fic, B) like AUs, and C) like screaming at your screen when fictional characters are having mutual pining romantic drama but also legitimate relationship issues and not just RomCom-esque misunderstandings 

It’s a very complex set of feelings.

And without getting too much into spoiler territory, there was a lot of discussion of Achieving Your Dream versus Being Happy and because I still have conflicting feelings about the bakudeku ship, part of me was like… okay, but what if an AU of this fic in which Izuku decided, well, just because I can’t be a hero doesn’t mean I can’t help people still in the most dangerous way possible.

And then I also thought, a little bit, how… not funny… but a greater slap in the face to Bakugou if Izuku started dating someone who, on the surface, was very much like him but on the surface a worse version. Like, on paper that is. Because Bakugou is probably very handsome, if he weren’t always so >:(, and very smart and successful and devoted to being a hero. Great, fantastic, Bakugou will probably achieve his dream of being the number one hero with or without Izuku.

But will he be happy?

Versus, Izuku in this AU will never achieve his dream. Has, actually, given up on his dream or, at least, the original version of his dream. But he can still help people. And if he happens to find happiness with a loud, pale-haired, bright eyed, muscular vigilante whose punches can kind of explode things then… well… Ryohei Sasagawa is not the smartest of dudes, but he is a good sunshine boy who I and Tetsuki love very much.

So this AU takes the brichibi’s theme of Achieving Your Dream vs Being Happy and twists it into an unhappy ending (for Bakugou, at least) because instead of both of them getting both, each of them only get one.

Well, that’s the origin of the AU, but it kinda took a life of its own when I decided to use KHR characters and this is where this weird fake fic summary finally becomes relevant to your ask, lionheadbookends, because it wasn’t just the idea of Ryohei vaguely looking like Bakugou and rubbing salt in a broken up bakudeku’s wound. It also wasn’t even the fact that IZUKU IS COVERED IN GREEN LIGHTNING WHENEVER HE USES OFA. It also also wasn’t even the whole “Vongola started off as a vigilante group” thing, though all of these did help, of course.

But the cold, brutal thought that in this world of quirks–where Izuku’s misery comes from being quirkless–that another boy who had been so bullied and ridiculed and given a cruel nickname would also be quirkless… and still, eventually, find happiness despite it. That’s right, I’m talking about Dame-Tsuna.

And, okay, I suppose I have to decided whether or not Dying Will Flames exist. I do know they are independent of quirks if they do exist. And while I would love to stick with the theme of “you don’t need powers to be a hero” I have no idea how Tsuna’s Guardians would have formed around him (specifically, Gokudera, Mukuro, and Lambo… although as an Actual Child, he will not be holding the Guardian title… if they even do still structure themselves that way)

Anyway, Tsuna is quirkless as well and all of his “Guardians” have weak quirks or quirks that aren’t applicable to being a hero but they still go out and be vigilantes anyway. Like, for example, Ryohei probably has a minor healing quirk. He did not want to be a doctor. But he likes helping people, even if its not through his quirk, and he wasn’t going to not help people just because his quirk didn’t match up to his methods. (Kyoko also has a minor healing quirk, and while she did go into the medical field she decided to be a NEUROSURGEON where her quirk isn’t exactly useless but doesn’t really apply during the main part of CUTTING PEOPLE’S BRAINS).

And Izuku probably falls into this group because he, I dunno, decides to take some self defense classes finally and Ryohei’s either the teacher or an assistant or something and that’s their meet cute but really it’s the introduction to Izuku being like… the friendly boy who I maybe like has way more bruises on his face than class sparring explains? WTF? He’s going out at night and fighting crime illegally with a bunch of his friends? (With or without Dying Will Flames) and then Izuku is just like… I WANT IN.

Anyway, because this is from Izuku’s POV, it does make the KHR squad into the non-protagonists. Not necessarily “background” characters, but secondary characters for sure. Although if we focus on the unrequited bakudeku aspect of it, then the vigilantism does become the “background” for the “childhood friends and former high school sweethearts dichotomy drama of Achieving Your Dream vs Being Happy…”

Tetsuki might exist here but definitely as a background character. She does a lot of undercover stuff as in canon for Trailblazers

Quick question, do you think 2796 (Chrome X Tsuna) could legitimately work as a pairing? The nervous, hieeeing mob boss and the shy, somehow-still-alive mist girl? Them dating would be a comedy of errors, misunderstandings, and misfortune that ends with them laughing every time.

In my honest opinion, I think Tsuna is a really great person that would be a good influence in anyone’s lives. That might be one of the reasons why I think would make him shippable with any suitable character his age. He’s just a really wonderful supportive, kind person in general.

Not that uke moe Tsuna, All27 stuff though ;;;

Tsuna and Chrome’s relationship, like most of Tsuna’s friends is built on trust and respect. But I think Chrome could be one of the characters Tsuna would have one of the greatest respect for. He’s been there to see her growth. Honestly, she’s his true mist guardian, in addition to being his only female guardian so Tsuna would have a great soft spot for her. She’s a really strong person and Tsuna recognizes that. Aside from her abilities, you can see Tsuna caring for her, worrying about her health ever since Mukuro left her post Future arc.

I think their relationship could be really cute. It would be something built on mutual respect and support. They both have a lot of similarities that they can relate with one another that can lead them to building each other up in a potential relationship.

“I’m home.”

You walked out of the kitchen and saw Tsuna walk in, tiredly pulling at the maroon tie you had given him as a Christmas gift last year and your heart ached. For the hundredth time you wonder if you’re doing the right thing. But as you picked up the suit jacket he discarded on the couch and you caught the scent of perfume and wine your resolve hardened into certainty.

You’ve had enough.

“Tsuna.”

“Hey,” he walked over and leaned down to drop a kiss on your cheek but you surprised him by walking away. His brow furrowed at your actions. “Something wrong?”

You pursed your lips and swallowed hard. If you don’t say anything now then you’ll be living like this for the rest of your life. And that was not what you wanted.

“I’ve noticed that…” you began haltingly. “You’re always taking trips. You hardly ever call or write or…”

Tsuna sighed. He had known this would come up eventually. When he married you he had promised himself he would keep you firmly away from the Mafia and allow you to live the life you had always wanted.

A nice house. A big garden. White picket fences. Giant willow trees in the backyard where the two of you could put up a swing for your future children to enjoy in the future… All the things that you had always confessed to wanting while the two of you were dating.

Your ignorance made him forget the mire of darkness and sin he had doused himself in by accepting his role as Vongola Decimo. It was one of the reasons why he preferred marrying a civilian. So he could hold on to that one moment of sanity he had left in his soul and remind him what he was fighting for…

But he should have known it wouldn’t last long.

“Is it another woman?”

Your quiet question made Tsuna’s eyes widen and snapped him out of his tired contemplations.

“NO!” he vehemently denied. “No of course not, how could you think that of me?!”

You held his jacket up with a sad smile as though holding up a flag of surrender. “You come home with women’s perfume all over you all the time.”

Shit, Tsuna thought. Goddamn Mafia wives and their expensive perfume catching onto his clothes just by being in the same room as him. “It’s not what you think.”

Your lips trembled and you hugged his suit jacket close, your eyes already on the verge of tears. “Where do you go every time Hayato and Takeshi call you? What do you do that makes your eyes haunted every time you come home?”

“It’s not something for you to be concerned about―”

“OF COURSE IT IS!” you yell back, cutting him off. “I’M YOUR WIFE! WHEN YOU SUFFER I SUFFER! WHEN YOU HURT I HURT TOO! WE’RE SUPPOSED TO SHARE A LIFE TOGETHER, TSUNA! HOW CAN WE DO THAT IF YOU KEEP SHUTTING ME OUT?!”

Tsuna’s response was cut off when he heard his phone ring. Reluctantly he pulled out of his pocket, shooting you agitated glances. “Hello? Sorry, Hayato, this isn’t a good time. What?! …Fine, I’ll be there.”

You stare at him expectantly, pleading with him silently to trust you. To let you in. To be yours the way you were all his.

But he looked away as he grabbed his jacket back from your hands and started for the door again. He stopped at the threshold and looked back. “I’m sorry. Just… trust me, okay? I love you. No matter what I am; what I do… That truth will never change.”

As soon as the door closed behind him you stumble over towards the side table in tears and opened a drawer. Inside you took out the divorce papers and the pen you were going to use to sign it.

“You look like someone stepped on your dog and ate it.”

Tsuna didn’t even bother looking over at Reborn as the hitman sat in the chair opposite his with that godforsaken smirk on his face. All he did was down another glass of brandy and stare at the divorce papers you had mailed to him that morning.

“I did tell you lying to her would only mean trouble,” Reborn continued, his dark eyes sifting through the papers on the table. “Have you learned nothing from your father?”

“I guess nothing beats being as blindly in love as my mother was with my father,” Tsuna replied sullenly, his voice hoarse from all the alcohol he had been imbibing since he received the papers. “Maybe she just doesn’t love me that much.”

“Now hold on, that’s not fair to her,” Reborn raised his brows at the Vongola Boss. “You were the one who didn’t cover your tracks well enough. At least Iemitsu tried no matter how ridiculous his excuses were. You just up and leave whenever someone from the Family calls you without even as much as a by your leave. Frankly I’m surprised she even lasted this long.”

Tsuna scowled and poured himself and Reborn another glass of brandy. “I’m not signing it. I’ll never let her leave. She’s insane if she thinks she could leave me.”

“That’s a given,” Reborn smiled in amusement as he reached for his student’s offered liquor. “But you will learn that it’s a lot more pleasant to live with women who actually want to stay.”

Tsuna was about to take another gulp of brandy in response when the doors to his office were thrown open and Hayato came rushing in.

“Jyudaime! We have a problem!”

Tsuna’s brow furrowed but he sighed and put his brandy down. “What is it, Hayato?”

“That Family we put under probation! The one we can’t put a sentence on?”

“Yes?” Tsuna rubbed at his temples. This particular dilemma had been a headache for a long time now.

A Mafia Family accused of killing an ally Boss’ sister. Of course there was no proof so Tsuna had the Boss of the Family watched to see if they could either clear him and find the guilty party or take them down to serve the wronged Famiglia justice.

“We just received confirmation from Chrome that they’re guilty.” Hayato announced, holding up a folder.”

“Good, then what are we waiting for? Wipe them out and serve their Boss for the other Famiglia to take care of.” Tsuna told him with a wave of his hand.

“That’s just it,” Hayato replied, pale as a ghost. “When I had a squad raid his mansion there was no one there. But they had this pinned to their wall.”

Hayato placed the picture on top of the divorce papers and it was Tsuna’s turn to turn pale.

Because the picture was of you puttering around in the garden. A red X marked over your face.

You have yet to receive contact from Tsuna regarding the divorce papers but you guessed it didn’t matter since you were leaving tonight anyway. Your bags were packed and you’ve already made arrangements with a hotel downtown where you can live in until you find an apartment for yourself.

You looked around the living room with sad eyes. You had spent the entire day just roaming every part of it, committing it to memory as much as you could. You wanted to absorb all the happiness it gave you no matter how much that happiness converted into pain whenever you remembered Tsuna’s refusal to be honest with you. That night when he left again right after coming home and still refusing to answer you despite your pleas was the last straw.

How could he expect you to trust him after that?

You were standing up and heading for your bags already waiting for you at the front foyer when you heard a noise.

Was that the back door? But you were positive you locked it?

Before you could wonder any more about it, men in black suits came in pointing guns at you; the man who looked to be their leader wearing a smirk you absolutely did not like.

“So this is his woman,” he said as he leered at you. “Fucking work of art. At least he knows how to pick ‘em.”

You tried not to show your fear and glared right back at the man despite your confusion. You could smell his evil right down to your bones. “Who are you? You’re trespassing! I demand you leave immediately!”

“Ohoh! She’s got balls too!” the man laughed along with the others. “Let’s see just how brave she is when she’s on her back with her legs open wide under me, eh?”

Before you could move or say anything else the front door exploded and you put up an arm in an attempt to shield your eyes. When the dust cleared and you managed to make out the figures that walked through the hole the explosion created you could hardly believe your eyes.

It was all your husband’s closest friends. Hayato, Takeshi, Ryohei, Kyoya, Lambo, Mukuro and Chrome… And walking right in front of them with blazing orange eyes, wearing an unusual pair of gloves and a black mantle that made him look like royalty was…

“Tsuna…” you breathed out.

He caught your eyes for a second before nodding at Chrome who casually stood in front of you and set up an indigo barrier. And then you watched as your husband and his friends massacred the men who had intruded into your home.

Right then and there you bore witness to a different side of your husband. Not the kind, sweet one who always looked so tired and haunted when he got home. No, this man was power incarnate.

This man was not meant to be viewed as mortal.

This man was… dark.

Blood sprayed against Tsuna’s clothes and cheeks as he tore off the enemy Boss’ limb. He allowed the man to drop to the floor howling in agony as he met your gaze.

“North sector is clear, Boss.” Hayato reported as he rushed to Tsuna’s side.

“East sector clear!” Ryohei replied as he walked in, still fixing the cuffs of his suit.

“West sector is clean!” Lambo called out to them even as he made his way to the kitchen to get something to eat.

“Hn.” Hibari said as he walked in from the Southern part of the house, shaking the blood off his tonfas.

“I really wish you could build an attic up in the ceiling,” Mukuro sighed as he climbed down from the stairs dragging two men wearing the same suits in his wake. “I think it would make a perfect room for unwanted guests.”

“Boss…?” you asked aloud and Chrome gave you a shy smile before retreating behind you and dissipating the barrier she had set up.

“Round up the ones who are still alive and send them to our ally’s. They’ll see to it that they’re punished accordingly for the crimes they’ve committed,” Tsuna told his friends, his eyes never leaving yours. “Tell them… I want these scum to suffer for as long as possible.”

Replies of assent and bows surrounded them even as men were dragged out of the house until you two were the only ones left. You and the silence.

A silence that Tsuna hesitantly broke. “I’m not the man you think I am.”

Still trembling, you struggle to keep your voice steady as you look him in the eye. “How could I know? You never even told me who you really are.”

He scowled and looked away before taking a deep breath and finally giving up. “I’m a Mafia Boss.”

You stared at him speechless for a long time and Tsuna began to fidget before you laughed and tears fell down from your cheeks.

“Was that all?” you asked as you choked on your tears and amusement. “Idiot. You could have told me that sooner.”

Heya! I love, love, love your KHR/BNHA fic. Have you ever thought of what will happen with his Guardians around? Also if they were born into BNHA-verse?

Why, yes. Yes, I have.

Okay, so I based their lives on what quirk will they have or what their background is.

I bet that to keep Mukuro from doing anything illegal, Hibari from imposing his iron-clad rules, and Gokudera from establishing Vongola, Tsuna would push them onto heroics — it helps society, it promotes discipline, it involves fighting, and it’s 100% legal.

I imagine that Tsuna and his friends would be 1-A’s senpai. This is mainly to parallel their class placement in Namimori. Back there, they were middle school sophomores. Now, they’re high school sophomores. Hibari, Mukuro, and Ryohei are seniors.

Now I don’t want Lambo to feel left out (that 9-10 year difference is really big), so I decided that he’s in Izuku’s batch, along with Chrome. Don’t get me wrong — I know Chrome is canonically in the same batch as Tsuna, but I thought that she’s 1 year younger and so Lambo wouldn’t be isolated, I moved her down to his grade level.

I also thought it’d be funny if the main male trio (Tsuna, Gokudera, & Yamamoto) became related to BNHA’s main male trio (Deku, Bakugou, & Todoroki). This isn’t just that; their possible quirks are compatible, too! On the other hand, Lambo is related to a canon character only for quirk-related purposes. Lightning flames resemble Electrification quirk too closely, so it would only make sense if he’s related to Kaminari.

As for their classes, I imagined that Tsuna, Gokudera, and Yamamoto were put into Aizawa’s class and when he committed mass expulsion, only those three passed. They can’t exactly hold a special section for 3 people only, so they were absorbed by the other section. Thus, theirs is the only batch in Heroics department with only 1 class comprised of students more than the usual amount.

Fun fact, the kanji for tsunagu can also mean to tie or fasten, like actual ropeI decided that his name (I-e-tsu-na) would be as such because both Inko (I-n-ko) and Izuku (I-zu-ku) are like that. It matches.

Izuku’s information in the wiki states that his birthplace “near Shizuoka”. The specific city he lives in is Musutafu (isn’t confirmed to be in any particular prefecture). However…

“The Shizuoka area” can be interpreted as either “near Shizuoka” or within Shizuoka itself. So I decided to just specify it as Shizuoka. The reason for this is because some would be in another prefecture (e.g. Lambo, being related to Kaminari whilst the main trio are in Musutafu), so segregate them into groups and put them in different places, I say!

The locations I considered for their birthplaces are either in accordance with their BNHA relatives or accessibility to interactions with others. Shizuoka isn’t too far from Saitama (where Kaminari lives in), so it wouldn’t be too farfetched for Tsuna, Gokudera, or Yamamoto to interact with Lambo prior to attending Yuuei.

Okay, about his hero name. Tsuna would be nothing if Reborn didn’t come in his life, and I’m sure he knows that, too. He appreciates his sadistic tutor for everything he has done and he wouldn’t be the person he is today without Reborn’s guidance. Not to mention the fact that they’ve literally been reborn. So I think he would pay homage to his hitman tutor.

His quirk, Dying Will, is more or less the same as his ability in his past life. There are some parts of it different, like not having petrification anymore and only having access to his Sky flames (no Oath flames sorry!):

It’s a physical manifestation of Tsuna’s life force, taking the form of flames. Literally “dying”, because the more damages he takes, the stronger his fire. Literally “will”, because it only burns what he wills it to burn.

Zero Point Breakthrough: First Edition & Revised only works on organic stuff. Life force is organic. People, animals, and plants are living; also organic. Quirk-made energy such as Kaminari’s electricity can only be absorbed by Tsuna because he produced it himself. 

Tsuna can’t absorb normal fire, etc. Tsuna can’t freeze non-living things unless they’re organic (produced by a quirk such as the case with Yaomomo) or they’re covered in organic stuff.

Tsuna’s Hyper Intuition is covered by this quirk, too. Being able to harness one’s life force. Dying Will Flames are harnessed from one’s life force. Due to the way it resonates with one’s emotions, it has been regarded as a type of battle aura. Basically, HI is the manifestation of Tsuna’s aura-sensing abilities/passive aura-related abilities.

Another passive ability would be from the “harmony” aspect of Sky flames. In his quirk, this converts to the “pull” that people feel towards him. Their aura is reacting to his aura.

Midoriya Hisashi can breathe fire. I will assume that his relatives also have fire-related quirks, so Tsuna’s quirk can still fall under it.

Tsuna can’t teach Izuku how to light up flames because his abilities are now a quirk - an ability you’re born with and cannot be taught. Dying Will isn’t like OFA wherein he can pass it on, nor is it like AFO in which he can steal and give abilities he stole.

I included special moves because heroes in BNHA have them. Their special move may not exactly be their strongest. Rather, it’s more of which one in their arsenal is their signature move. In Tsuna’s case, it’s his X-Burner.

Whilst Tsuna and the others may have the same faces, things such as their hair color, eye color, freckles, etc. may be different due to having new parents. We don’t know what Midoriya Hisashi looks like, so I gave Tsuna Inko’s hair color instead. He got orange eyes (like in HDWM) because he is now actively tapping into his life force 24/7 unlike before.

With Tsuna around, surely he wouldn’t let Izuku get bullied, yes? Of course, he’d protect his brother from bullies. However, they are in different grade levels and Izuku seems to be the type to hide his troubles so his loved ones wouldn’t worry (even if he doesn’t know that they know anyway). He probably wouldn’t get too bullied, but it won’t go away. Not with Izuku being quirkless, nor with Bakugou’s twisted inferiority superiority complex.

Bakugou Hayatō/Hayatou

Hayatō: 隼 haya “falcon” + 勝 tō “superior/be superior to”

Place of Origin: Shizuoka Prefecture (Musutafu, Japan)

Class: 2-A

Hero Name: Smoking Hero, Hurricane Bomb

Quirk: Explosive Constructs

Current appearance: Silver blond hair and red eyes

Yes, “Hayatō” and not “Hayato”, due to the kanji. Now, the first kanji in his name is the same as his old name, whilst the second is from Masaru 勝. Since Bakugou (Katsuki) is a combination of Masaru and Mitsuki 光己 (Katsuki is 勝己), I thought it’s appropriate for Gokudera to get kanji from their parents. Unfortunately, using Mitsuki’s kanji would in no way be read as “haya”. Luckily, “tō” is an alternate way of reading his father’s kanji. A friend was the one to suggest this to me, although I am unsure if it can be considered a “kira-kira” name due to the reading.

Bakugou lives in the same area as Izuku, so that’s that.

Regarding his hero name, Gokudera has both been referred to as “Smoking Bomb” or “Hurricane Bomb”, so I thought, why not both? …The reason for the description as “Smoking Hero” has something to do with his quirk.

For his quirk, I originally thought of giving him Explosive Fire instead (which is fire that explodes upon contact), but then he wouldn’t need his bombs anymore. Gokudera is bomb-reliant. A quirk without involving bombs for him is complete blast-phemy okay sorry for the forced pun and in the end, I gave him the ability to produce his own fireworks. Details:

As the name implies, Explosive Construct is to create explosives. Its main/default/non-removable property is to create an explosion. Now what is particular about this, is what extra attribute his bomb will have.

This extra aspect depends on what he consumes: food, beverages, vices, and other organic things such as leaves and quirk-made stuff (Yaomomo’s creations, Todoroki’s flames, body crystal from that one villain, etc.). For example, Gokudera smokes a cigarette. That’s considered as consumption since he technically inhales the smoke.

Gokudera smokes so he can produce smoke bombs and light up the other explosives he made.

The explosive property is from Masaru, whilst the “manually made from myself/organically-produced” property is from Mitsuki (Masaru can’t forcibly secrete the explody sweat, but Mitsuki can willfully emit her glycerin).

Now, about Gokudera’s coloring: both parents haven’t been shown in a colored spread so I can’t tell what color their hair and eyes are. However, I can assume that one of them has ash blond hair and red eyes (because that’s what Bakugou has). Blond hair is a light color and so is silver, so I gave Gokudera silvery blond. Red eyes because Bakugou. Yeah.

His relationship with his younger brother would be a little rocky. Both are equally hot-tempered. However, they can be vastly different in which Bakugou grows up to be a jerk and Gokudera’s not; not with his past memories, he wouldn’t. Yes, he would be as abrasive as Bakugou, but he wouldn’t be openly hostile without a proper reason. He’ll be irritated, but wouldn’t want to beat you up or kill you for a small issue.

Not to mention that Gokudera’s a goddamn genius as a child in his past life. What more if he had access to his knowledge as an adult, amirite? Bakugou could have formed a sense of inferiority due to his desire to one-up his older brother, too; sibling rivalry.

This could be the reason for Bakugou to be more polite towards Tsuna and Inko. Tsuna’s the supportive-type of brother who wouldn’t antagonize you. He and Gokudera would probably butt heads a lot. Inko is a motherly adult whom he’s known as a kid so he probably wouldn’t be explosive towards her, unlike his potty mouth mother. Izuku is a different story because he’s quirkless and the fuck ton of issues he has with the other. 

Man, Bakugou’s a complicated person.

Todoroki Takeshi

Place of Origin: Shizuoka Prefecture (Musutafu, Japan)

Class: 2-A

Hero Name: Samurai Hero, Shigure

Quirk: Tranquil Rain

Special Move(s): Shigure Soen Ryu

Current appearance: White hair fading into red and blue eyes

I couldn’t think of a good new name for Yamamoto, sorry!

Him being part of the Todoroki family was… unplanned. Originally, Tsuna is supposed to be Todoroki’s older brother due to the fire and ice thing. But then I had that idea with KHR main male trio = BNHA main male trio older brothers so… that’s that. Also, rain flames is watery and you can derive water from fire and ice combined.

Endeavor doesn’t seem to be the type to send his kids to a public school, even if they’re just failures. Orudera isn’t exactly a school for the wealthy/famous, so no Yamamoto there. A possible chance of the trio reuniting would be in kindergarten, elementary school, or meeting each other by chance since they all live in the same city.

Why Samurai Hero? Yamamoto is a swordsman. He’s reliant on using a sword and I bet you that he’d bring his mad blade skills to his next life if he could. Why Shigure? Same name as the sword and the sword style. Also, Shigure 時雨 can mean “drizzle” as a whole and “time/season” + “rain”, respectively (it’s also apparently translated as “Shower in Late Autumn”? Dunno how they got autumn there).

His quirk (and Rain flames) match Shigure perfectly:

Can produce water (”rain” in Shigure).

Water can slow down enemies (the “tranquil” part which was originally from rain flames). This part represents the “time” in Shigure.

Other than the fact that they aren’t flames anymore, Yamamoto’s quirk is no different from Rain flames.

His appearance is based on his new parents. Speaking of Endeavor, Yamamoto’s quirk is indeed a mix of the two. However, I bet this isn’t exactly what the man had in mind when he thought of a perfect quirk to beat All Might. Also, it’s water — not really a good idea to mix with his fire. Yamamoto is no pushover either, and his unfaltering sunny disposition would probably put Endeavor off, too. 

I think Todoroki’s Half-Hot, Half-Cold is what he prefers because it’s flashy, powerful, and more wholesomely destructive compared to Yamamoto. This doesn’t mean water is weak and useless; I’m just basing it on Endeavor’s perspective.

With Yamamoto as Todoroki’s brother, I don’t think he’d get as pushed to the limit like in canon, but the other probably can’t prevent every abuse from their burning garbage of a father. He can’t exactly run away, either — since Todoroki isn’t willing to leave willy-nilly (also Endeavor, with his influence and power, can probably drag them back home screaming). They didn’t have the luxury of having the mind of an instant resilient adult when they were born.

He’ll just be a pillar of support for his family, I guess.

Haregawa Ryohei

Haregawa: 晴 hare “sun/sunny” + 川 gawa “river”

Place of Origin: Nagano Prefecture

Class: 3-B

Hero Name: Boxing Hero, Counterpunch

Quirk: Activation

Special Move: Maximum Cannon

Current appearance: Mostly the same, I guess?

I just wanted to give him a new surname instead of a revised given name because I couldn’t think of anything and am an uncreative fuck. The first kanji is literally the one used for Sun flames.

Why live in Nagano? Because Nagano borders more prefectures than any other in Japan which kinda parallels Ryohei’s friendliness/openness and the province’s mountains have made it relatively isolated which mirrors Hibari’s isolationist nature (yes, Hibari also lives in this prefecture). 

Not to mention that despite Namimori being somewhat an urban community, there’s a large forest nearby (Future Arc) and Namimori Shrine looks like the ones in the provinces, denoting that it’s a town in a mostly rural area.

Hero name reasoning: simple. He’s a boxer. Also references his Sunshine Counter in KHR.

His quirk is also equally simple. He gets to keep the activation aspect of Sun flames, but not the fire aspect. Activation involves stimulating and augmenting stuff. This gets him to keep everything he can do in KHR:

Punch hard? “Activate” (Augment) his own body.

Heal people? “Activate” their cells and body’s healing factor.

The issue with Sunshine Counter/Uppercut: He can’t do this anymore. Well, either that or he can somehow absorb the impact of someone’s hit and activate his body so he can send it back + force from his own power, so double the damage.

About Ryohei’s appearance, I’m not sure about changing anything because his quirk isn’t closely similar to anyone that I’d need him to be related to them, thus, changing his appearance in a way.

I put him, Hibari, and Mukuro in 3-B because I assume that the Big 3 are in 3-A and I didn’t want to put them all in the same class. That’s it. There’s no deeper reason behind it.

Kaminari Ranbō/Ranbou

Ranbō: 乱 ran “disordered/chaotic“ + 暴 bō “acting with destructive force”. Together, 乱暴 is “roughness/violent/rude/act recklessly”.

Place of Origin: Saitama Prefecture

Class: 1-A

Hero Name: Lightning Hero, Lambo

Quirk: Lightning Rod

Special Move: Elettrico Cornata

Current appearance: Black hair and gold eyes

I made him related to Kaminari because as I have mentioned near the beginning, it’s quirk-related. Lightning flames are similar to actual electricity. That hits too close to home and I couldn’t let a chance pass wherein I can give Lambo a proper, BNHA-canon biological family. He and Kaminari are twins, with him as the younger one.

About his name, I learned that the romaji for Lambo’s name is an actual word. So I used it as his new given name. It references the role of the Lightning Guardian which is ”To draw damage to himself and away from the rest of the Famiglia, serving as a lightning rod.“.

He belongs in Saitama, because that’s where his brother lives.

Hero name time! So the Lightning Hero is a no-brainer, and I figure that Adult!Lambo (which is the mentality he had before he died) would be pretty laid-back so to speak; thus, he would choose something that isn’t too complicated and has sentimental value… which is his previous life’s name.

For his quirk, it has one major difference from Kaminari’s Electrification — Lambo can’t produce his own electricity. As the name suggests, he’s a human lightning rod; he can only absorb (and release) electricity. It’s why he charges himself with an outside source (such as his brother and household electricity). Once he runs out of electricity, his quirk is useless unless gets to absorb again.

Current appearance: why the black hair? About Kaminari, I’m not sure if his hair is dyed in some way and if so, which color is the dyed part? Is it the blond hair or the black streak? Most likely the streak but you never know. Gold is Kaminari’s eye color. That’s all there is to it.

In BNHA-verse, I imagined him as Chrome’s age. Technically, he’s older than her now: Lambo’s new birthday is the same as Kaminari (June 29) while Chrome, like the others, keep their original birthdays (hers is December 5). Despite this, he still calls her “Chrome-nee” out of habit.

He sits behind Kaminari (Lambo is Seat No. 8), so Kirishima is now Seat No. 9. He and Chrome replace Kouji and Sato in 1-A. I was originally going to put them in 1-B, but there’s too little information about them so… yeah. 

Namimori Kyouya

Namimori: 並 nami “average” + 盛 mori “prime/peak”

Place of Origin: Nagano Prefecture

Class: 3-B

Hero Name: Disciplinary Hero, Hibari

Quirk: Propagation

Special Move: None he doesn’t need one

Current appearance: Relatively unchanged

Okay, okay. Since reincarnation = not always having the same surname, I came up with giving him “Namimori” as his family name. Everyone else finds it amusing, but Hibari likes it. Same name as his territory in a previous life where he terrorized the citizens and “disciplined” the unruly, what’s not to like?

As mentioned in Ryohei’s entry, Nagano’s mountains have made it relatively isolated which mirrors Hibari’s isolationist nature. Also, it’d be funny if he grows up with Ryohei all over again. As much as Hibari would more or less break into hives at socialization, Ryohei would reign him in. I mean, have you seen TYL!Ryohei and TYL!Hibari? Like, they’re such bros??

His old surname is too perfect as a hero name, I couldn’t resist recycling it. Hibari 雲雀 as a whole means “skylark”, while separately it’s 雲 “cloud” and 雀 “sparrow”. Skylarks are solitary, migratory, and territorial. Sparrows are the same (not sure if they’re territorial, though).

Similar to Ryohei, he gets to keep the property of Cloud flames, minus the flame part. According to KHR, Cloud flames involve multiplying and expanding. Not really that big of a deal when it comes to the quirk lottery, but with Hibari’s frightening combat prowess, he doesn’t even need to be reliant on an extra ability to beat people into a pulp. Even more so when you beat him down.

Talk to Hibari? He’ll bite you to death.

Fight Hibari? He’ll bite you to death.

Defeat Hibari? Unlikely, since he’ll bite you to death. But in the very miniscule chance that you do get to beat him, he’ll rise from defeat and endure all physical and mental pain out of spite to prove his superiority and assert dominance because fuck you he’s a carnivore.

Exist? He’ll definitely bite you to death, unless you’re a kid or a cute animal.

He also canonically doesn’t have a special move. Maybe it’s because he can bite you to death without resorting to any fancy skill. I dunno.

I picture him as the actual strongest student in Yuuei. He just isn’t… very friendly nor cooperative. He’s also not one for fame, but rather, for infamy. Hibari is the guy you won’t hear about in the news, but one that you’d hear about in gossips and rumors. He’s the perfect underground hero — the more violent and volatile version of Aizawa.

Since he’s such an outlier and a wild card, I don’t think many outside of Yuuei would have heard of him.

But he is a living urban legend on campus.

Kurodo Mukuro

Kurodo: 黒 kuro “black” + 道 do “path/method”

Place of Origin: Yamanashi Prefecture

Class: 3-B

Hero Name: Illusionist Hero, Rokudo

Quirk: Six Paths of Reincarnation

Special Move: Genjuu Gagaia

Current appearance: Substantially the same

Another unoriginal name variation, I know. I practically used the anagram of his surname and used different kanji (though I kept the “do” part).

As for his place of origin, there really wasn’t any deep thought put into it. I looked at a map of Japan, saw Yamanashi bordering Shizuoka, Nagano, and Saitama, and decided “hey, that’s where I’m putting the pineapple wonder duo”. In addition to that, Gran Torino’s apartment is there. It’s a rundown building and it isn’t too farfetched to infer that there are more rundown buildings in the vicinity… where Mukuro and Chrome would feel right at home.

Illusionist Hero, Rokudo is… self-explanatory. He’s an illusionist and Rokudo literally means “six paths”, like his ability (六 roku “six” + do “path/method”).

Six Paths of Reincarnation was too perfect a quirk; it covers the illusion aspect of Mist flames, too. For those who don’t know/remember, the Realm of Hell (first path) grants Mukuro the power to create real illusions capable of manifesting in the physical/real world.

Genjuu Gagaia roughly translates to “Real Illusion Beast - Corpse-Eating Crows”. It’s a pretty… graphic name and very literal in application. It’s also a perfect special move for Mukuro because illusions and violence; and Chrome didn’t use it in canon. Hard to give them a separate special move to develop when they share almost every ability.

And finally…

Kurodo Nagi

Nagi: 凪 “peaceful”

Place of Origin: Yamanashi Prefecture

Class: 1-A

Hero Name: Illusionist Hero, Chrome

Quirk: Illusion

Special Move: Cortina Nebbia

Current appearance: Substantially the same

I kept her original name, because I can. 

This time, unlike in KHR, she and Mukuro are biological siblings. This is also to solve the problem of them having closely-related quirks.

I gave her the same title as Mukuro because despite learning how to be independent from her master in KHR… she still looks up to him and owes him a lot, so I think she’d want to emulate him in some way. One minor way is to have the same hero title. For her name, Chrome is too perfect of an alias. Not her real name, has sentimental value, and is an anagram of Mukuro’s name.

Her quirk is similar to Mukuro, except for the fact that she can only make illusions. She has no access to his other abilities such as human possession, which is granted by the Six Paths of Reincarnation.

For her special move, only Cortina Nebbia is the ability that Mukuro didn’t use (I might remember this wrong, though). It’s also a defensive technique, which fits the pacifistic Chrome a lot more than genocidal Mukuro.

What I didn’t mention in Mukuro’s entry has something to do with the surname. I didn’t want to change the seating arrangement of 1-A too much (which is inevitable if I’m replacing 2 canon characters with 2 from KHR). Lambo, much to my relief, was a shoe-in for Kaminari. Chrome’s was the trickier part. I thought, “what surname would keep Chrome in Sato and Kouji’s column?”, then I remembered anagrams and from Rokudo/Dokuro -> Kurodo.

Chrome is currently Seat No. 10. She sits between Uraraka and Todoroki.

In regards to KHR, it’s hard to find any ship that I didn’t consider, because there was a time when I went crazy thinking of all sorts of ships (boy/boy, boy/girl, girl/girl. Don't test me). Still, there is an answer because this ship started it all. Hibari x Haru lol. At the time they were my favorite female and male character in KHR. My friend joked and said, “If you love them both so much, just ship them together.” History was made that day. Coincidentally I’ve cosplayed both. I will never show them off because they aren’t good lol. That started my descent down: This is fun, let’s ship almost anything I can find. Ships didn't necessarily have to be romantic either. I love exploring friendships and also just sibling dynamics as well. Haru adopting people? Yes please. 

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?

I feel like I’m a troll in general, so I have added something cracky to any fandom that I’m in. Two things I can think of atop my head are ‘you reblogged a dare meme and you dare think I won’t ask Mukuro/Hibari/Alaude/Daemon to wear cat ears? HA!!!! YOU THOUGHT!!’. Another would be that I like puns, so if I see my chance to pun in a meme, I will. I always ask first before I send, however. It usually results in silliness, as you could imagine and Haru running away in fear.

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)

I guess I’m neutral about Dr.Shamal so he should count? Mn...despite the way he is with women and the way he refuses to treat male patients, he’s a smart guy and talented at what he does. He was also utilized well in putting Gokudera’s character into perspective more. Additionally, he is a good example of, ‘Haru will punch you out if you cross the boundaries,’ and I appreciate him for that. His sacrifice wasn’t in vain. Never forget how he is the reason why Mukuro was able to use Sakura blossoms against Hibari in the first place. This man--- the damage he has caused.

P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).

I’m assuming this is asking for me to create an AU for Haru as she’s placed in a different fandom. If that’s correct, I am going to casually pretend that I don’t know the difference between a fandom and a genre by going: “I’ve been reading way too many isekai recently and I think it would be funny to consider Haru getting sent to an otome or something and her being a super sassy and head strong FL. Watch her instantly try to change her identity or run away from bad male leads with all her might. I would live for this, thank you. Haru is also smart and adapts well, so she’d be able to adapt to whatever world setting she’s put in and she doesn’t hate studying, so she’d be able to pick up on the intricacies of her new world. Mainly, I just want a FL who will actually smack the life out of a ML if he’s being a POS. I NEED THIS. It’s emotional healing.

H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?

I really like sourcing things in novels or manga/manhwa/manhua a lot. Animated sources are good too, but it’s much quicker for me to go through something that’s written, so I tend to prefer those now days. Anything that’s easier for me to binge is A+.

A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.

I’m answering strictly based off this blog in it’s current state, else you’ll be here forever. If I talk about ships in KHR in general, you’ll actually be here forever. No @ tags bc I’m feeling shy today. I personally love the dynamic between Gokudera and Haru (platonic or romantic). I’ve historically liked BelHaru, and it looks like it may become a thing in RPC as well. Haru is warily staring from a comfortable distance atm. Haru has a friendly relationship with a Byakuran at the moment. They’re baking a cake! She is generally very friendly with any Tsuna I encounter.

Ravein/Pino… yeah, I self-thread sometimes. Haru has a sibling kinda dynamic with Ravein which is really just a friendship dynamic. It’s the same with Pino. Mizumachi and Haru are both energetic, hyper buddies. Hibari—I aim for just a casual lowkey friendship kinda dynamic. Shame in self-threading? Never heard of her.

The best way to describe her relationship with Zelman in a ‘Black Blood Brothers’ au is ‘hey I just moved into the territory you lord. Hello!’ I think this would go down a friendship route and I’m so for it. Kajika from ‘Hanasakeru Seishonen’ has a friendship with Haru and they just get along swimmingly well. I think the mun for Rentaro ‘Black Bullet’ returned, so I think he can count. Haru has a friendship with him and they’re cooking buddies! They joined a cooking association together!

Haru also has friendships with Emi (KHR oc), and Luca (KHR oc), both of which are in the Varia!au setting that I have for Haru. Emi in particular, Haru has decided to adopt her as a little sis and will pummel anyone who bullies her. Luca--- sometimes in conjunction with Ravein (my OC) drive Haru insane. It’s a trio of dumb, dumbest, and ‘hey I’m the dumbest!’.

The ‘ships’ that I have with Haru are usually always friendship and ‘hey I’m arbitrarily adopting you’ and I love it.

G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?

Eh--- in RPC, my very first one... I believe, was GokuHaru. I currently have a GokuHaru (A different blog) in an AU for a TYL setting. I think I got very close to HibaHaru before, which is, a guilty pleasure ship of mine. Haru is treading into BelHaru territory right now in RPC and that is also, a guilty pleasure ship of mine. In the distant past there was also a TsuHaru (I know, I know, shocking) which was a reincarnated lovers Yakuza AU. That was a fun one. Also in the distant past, there was an AU for a MukuHaru as well. Le kek. I am a multi-ship blog and all ships have existed in different worlds/universes, therefore they all quality as an OTP in their own specific verse. I cheated, yes.

Pro-tip: I may warily stare from afar if shipping is a topic, but the moment you suggest an AU SHIP? I’m down. To further explain, these AU ships have always taken place in a very different timeline/world than what we know in KHR. So therefore I can feel all the freedom to do as I please and figure out characterizations based off what I need.  

PS. in regard to KHR in general, my first OTP was GokuHaru and GokuYama. Le kek.

O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?

I took my library of songs and randomized. I got: ‘Get Off My Back’ by Bryan Adams and Eliot Kennedy. So, by the vibe of the music, the first things that come to mind are either GokuHaru or BelHaru, I’m not going to lie. Now… who is saying these words, I’ll leave it to the imagination. I really like this song, but I really like the cover by Jonathan Young.

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?

Oh—that’s hard. Friendship dynamics are so fun! I really like Ryohei and Hibari’s dynamic together which could be depicted as friendship. The friendship between a lot of the guardians is just //chef kiss. However, the TRUE SHOW STOPPER in my heart is the friendship between the girls. I really love how all the girls build each other up and always support each other. I love it so much. Especially when the girls are there for Chrome, I CRY. When they support Yuni, I CRY. When I think about how big sis Bianchi looks after the girls and teaches them things- I CRY. I just cry. I love all the friendships in KHR, but the ones the girls share with each other wins in my book. I don’t take criticisms.
