"Y/N, I’ll get straight to the point—you’re failing this class," Prof. Choi says. "At this rate, I’m not sure you'll be able to move on to the next year."

"Want a bite?" You offer him with a sultry smirk.

"N-No, thank you," he mumbles, his ears turning red.

You giggle as you finish your banana and scoot a little closer, prompting him to continue the lesson. But he’s a stuttering mess, tripping over his words and repeatedly asking for more water to soothe his suddenly dry throat.

After stuttering his way through, Mingyu finally managed to finish the lesson. Sore from having hunched over, you stretch, not so subtly pressing your chest against his arm. Mingyu flushes, quickly gathering his notes and mumbling something about being late for a gaming session with Wonwoo.

You see him out, throwing in a wink and waving goodbye. You watch as he stumbles a bit while getting onto his Vespa and driving off. Chuckling to yourself, you can't help but smile at how cute he is.

The rest of the tutoring sessions go the same way: you not-so-subtly flirt with Mingyu, while he either purposely ignores it or remains completely oblivious. You even try to out-slut your outfits with every tutoring session, but nothing seems to work.

The last post was a rhetorical question, but, glad you guys want to hear me out!

Anyway, the Imperial Palace is haunted. "Haunted".

Surely, there are no such things as ghosts, right?

Except, when the Raven Guard Astartes began to report things disappearing when you don't look at them and also seeing pale ghostly figure stalking the hallways, people began to tense up, even though some just brushed it off as them confusing a ghost for one of their own. When the Custodes began to back up the Raven Guard's claims, the Primarchs got involved.

So, the main ghost hunting squad consists of Horus, Sanguinius, Corvus and Alpharius (and Omegon, but, shh). If we assign them the "Mystery Gang" roles, then Horus is Fred, Sanguinius is Daphne, Corvus is Velma and Alpharius is either Shaggy and Omegon is Scooby, or it's the other way around. No one notices the changes anyway.

A lot of their methods include things like a ouija board (from which they learned many interesting things about the ghost, particularly how many pickles it can shove up its ass), asking the ghost questions in the dark room, taunting the ghost (and screaming like little girls when the ghost retaliates), using a radio to try to communicate with it... That kind of stuff. A lot of the times, Corvus tries to negotiate with the ghost by offering Horus a sacrifice, much to Sanguinius' annoyance. Surprisingly, Horus doesn't really mind becoming a sacrifice (he thinks he can fight the ghost off) (he can't do shit). Alpharius and Omegon are both amused, however they initially didn't take the hauntings seriously. As time went on, though, they slowly started to plan their way out of the group.

The gang then turned to Lorgar for help. Their research led them to find out that numerous religions, in the past, had ways to ward off ghosts. Perhaps Lorgar can do something? Lorgar decided that a religious sacrifice could potentially pacify the paranormal ("No, Corvus, we are not sacrificing Horus"). He ordered Alpharius and Omegon to find and bring a small animal that they could sacrifice, while Lorgar prepared the salt, the candles and the prayers. Alpharius brought a little white rabbit from the Palace's kitchen. Sanguinius was sad to see such cutie get sacrificed, he made sure to give that rabbit some pats before the ritual. When the right time came, the Primarchs, all 6 of them now, stood in the circle made out of salt, in the room that was pitch black safe for some lit candles. Lorgar read the prayers and tried to stab the rabbit in order to kill it. The dagger, instead, bent to the side, as if the animal was made out of steel. The white rabbit then became possessed and jumped onto Alpharius, trying to bite through his helmet... And almost succeeding, had Sanguinius not grabbed and tossed the vermin out from the circle. Despite being tossed by a Primarch with full force, the rabbit didn't even break a sweat, instead preparing to pounce on its next victim. Thankfully it was put down by Horus and a couple of shots from his bolter pistol that he thankfully brought with himself. The killer rabbit was dead and Lorgar felt despair. Why didn't his faith in their father stop the malicious presence? He will make that ghost pay! Feeling wronged, he joins the ghost hunting squad and helps keep the group together and to coordinate the rituals.

Magnus thinks he can crack the case himself. He gets the photo evidence of paranormal activity, however, his recording skills are subpar. The photos and videos are blurry as fuck, as if Magnus covered the lense with a thick coat of vaseline beforehand. No one believes him or takes his evidence as, well, actual evidence... Except Jaghatai. His bike has been acting weird lately. Sometimes it turns on all by itself, drives itself for a good distance, sometimes it refuses to turn on, or strange things pop out on the display. Something is messing with his bike and the Great Khan is REALLY pissed at this. And, so far, he only trusts Magnus with this, so, they become a ghost hunting duo. Through the series of unfortunate events, the two have to race away from the pissed off ghost, with Magnus clinging onto Jagh and yelling "DRIVE FASTER, I'M SCARED".

The ghost also visited the Night Haunter himself. When Konrad realized he had an intruder he looked at the ghost, who decided to appear to him as a demonic looking old woman, taller than Konrad himself. Their eyes locked together and Konrad just... smiled, his rotting teeth revealed by a wide grin. He and the Night Lords were never bothered by the ghost again after that.

When news reached Roboute of what was happening in the Imperial Palace, he just made a shocked face and went "Oh no... Anyway!" and then went back to drinking the finest of wines you could find on Ultramar, while basking under Macragge's sun. Jackass.

Ferrus and Rogal were both working on the project together and didn't even notice the ghost. At some point, the ghost became a third participant: holding a hammer or shinning a light where it was needed. When Ferrus and Rogal realized what was happening, they just... Went back to work and continued to exploit the ghost. They would never say no to free labour.

This is kind of a large question so I apologize but I guess I'm curious on how you're able to get such specific or like. unique (i mean this in a good way) answers from tarot? Like your "what magic should i learn next" stuff or how to pick up what a spirit can do through tarot. like idk how to translate these cards into what the spirit is trying to say

There's no easy answer to this question, partially because I've now been reading tarot for almost exactly 16 years. This isn't at all to say that it's just the passage of time, but that in that amount of time I've done tons and tons of different things to expand my understanding of, and usage, of tarot.

Tarot didn't come to me very easily, and part of that journey was doing a lot of experimentation in an effort to figure it all out. My reading practice is still very much typified by a huge amount of experimentation and custom reading methods.

It hasn't been a linear process at all. I go through periods of months (or more!) where tarot just doesn't click for me, at all. So just because I picked up my first tarot deck 16 years ago doesn't mean that I've kept a consistent practice (I'm just now getting back into it after just such a fallow period ^-^)

My feelings on experimentation is that it gives me new ways to think about not only the cards, but also spreads, methodologies, and readings as a whole.

In addition, my experiments with other forms of divination (most especially casting lots, energy readings, and playing card readings) have heavily influenced my tarot readings.

Here is a post I wrote that I think expresses my feelings on experimenting within tarot.

Here are some examples of tarot experiments I've performed, and/or methodologies I've explored. It's these sorts of things that have been building blocks in my abilities in tarot. But no single one of them was a "key."

Elemental dignities: The elements of the cards dictates how they interact with each other. Air + fire can mean a supercharged firestorm, but water + fire can mean a controlled fire under a stewpot, or blocked progress of the fire. This experiment helps with understanding how cards can link together, and how energy can flow within a spread.

Elemental landscapes: Spreads are laid down in lines or grids and each card represents one aspect of the landscape. You must brainstorm and choose your own meanings. E.g., 8/wands is an exploding volcano. Queen/Cups is a lake inhabited by mermaids. Read the flow of weather patterns and energies through the spread as an answer to the question. This experiment helps with intuitive reading and working with a spread as a whole, instead of focusing on individual cards.

Elemental portents: Assign an element to your question. Draw a card. If the element on the card agrees with the element of your question, the portent is good; if it disagrees, the portent is bad. This experiment helps with learning how to phrase questions and how the question themselves can influence the balance of the deck.

Astral landscapes: This was an elaborate system I built around the Wooden Tarot. I worked with each card to assign it a mystical association that could occur in an astral landscape. The major arcana were spirits who could travel across the landscape. Each spread was like a playing board of a generated landscape and the spirits that interacted inside of it. This experiment was fun for considering the metaphysical ramifications of the energies of the cards themselves.

Numerical virtues: The number value of the card indicates its power and magnitude in the spread. 2 and 3 value cards are always of smaller power and significance. 10 and court cards are always of higher value. Aces may be high or low. This experiment gave me a new way of thinking about importance of each card, and how to blend magnitudes of significance.

Infinite directional wheel: I wrote a post on this actually, but basically you can keep placing cards forever in the cross-quarter positions. It's a meditation on the concept of elements and directions within witchcraft. Also, an extremely useful spread. This was a vital experiment for me in understanding spreadwork, flow of information, and linking cards.

Card doubling and tripling: Place two (or 3) cards together and determine the meaning as if it's one single card; there is no border, and the images combine with each other. The pictures and meanings of each combine into a single card.

Card doubling and tripling, but in spreads: For each position in the spread, place two cards (or three cards!) in place of one. Read the dyads or triads as if they are a single card. It isn't beginning/middle/end; it's a single triple-complex card! These doubling experiments helped me with the concept of card linking and blending meanings into unique interpretations.

Custom meaning sets: Basically, swap out all the default meanings with your own. Extremely useful IMO in learning how sets of meanings work together, and how to balance sets of meanings. I wrote a post on it here. These experiments have perhaps been the most vital for me in developing new interpretations. I believe that the magical skills readings you referenced were the result of custom meaning sets.

No meaning sets: Instead of using any card meanings, all spreads are resolved using a combination of elemental portents and numerical virtues. I.e., the element and number of a card in relation to other cards in the spread determines the reading. Here, the experimentation is allowing the cards to have strict, defined roles within a spread that can't be overwritten by personal intuition.

As a final note, I highly, highly recommend recording every reading you do and every card you draw. For the first couple years of my practice I recorded all readings, and it was a huge boost to my learning.

Writing Notes: Divination (pt. 3)

Onomancy

Divination from the letters of a name.

Letters are often assigned numerical values in onomancy.

The word comes from onoma-, meaning "name."

The same root is at work in the words anonymous and eponymous.

Oomancy

Divination by means of eggs.

The shape of the egg white as it cooks is believed to offer clues about the future.

Ornithomancy

Divination by observation of the flight of birds.

Also called augury, ornithomancy requires that attention be paid to birds and what they do.

Phyllomancy

Divination by means of leaves.

The phyllo in phyllomancy means "leaf." Methods of phyllomancy vary widely.

It can have to do with the sound of leaves, the way leaves fall in autumn, or even with the way leaves or a leaf react to being placed in water.

Psephomancy

Divination by pebbles.

Although pebbles are pretty much small stones, psephomancy is not to be confused with lithomancy, divination by stones or by special objects made from stones. In psephomancy, pebbles are often marked and drawn from a pile or container of pebbles.

Pyromancy

Divination by means of fire or flames.

The pyro- part of this word of course means "fire," and is found too in the word pyromania, "an irresistible impulse to start fires."

Rhabdomancy

Divination by rods or wands.

Rhabdomancy addresses both efforts to uncover information about the future as well as what is now more commonly called "dowsing"—that is, using a divining rod to find water.

A divining rod is a forked rod believed to show the person who uses it where water or minerals can be found underground by dipping downward when held over an underground supply.

Spatulamancy

Divination by means of an animal's shoulder blade.

It involves examining the shoulder blade of an animal that has been cooked over a fire. Although we think of the word spatula as referring to a kitchen implement, the Late Latin word it comes from means both "shoulder blade" and "spoon." It is a synonym of spatulamancy. (Scapul- also means "shoulder blade.")

Theomancy

Divination by the responses of oracles supposed to be divinely inspired.

The theo- in theomancy is the same in theology and theocentric: it means "god."

The idea in theomancy is that an oracle may report to you what a deity has said, but there's still the interpreting to do.

Xylomancy

Divination by means of pieces of wood.

The pieces of wood used in xylomancy vary widely.

They may be twigs, branches, or logs, and they may have fallen or be arranged.

They meet during Holly’s 1990-2005 identity, Miss Holliway. She joined PEIP and disliked Cross when they first met, because he came off as trying to help a damsel in distress. Not actually respecting or caring about her as a person, more the idea he had in his head. Will liked her immediately and her dismissal of him just intrigued him more. He was kinda sent to spy on her, I have an unnamed oc I need to figure out whose just The General. He’s meant to be an oppositional force to Holly and distrusts magic. So the general tells Cross to keep him informed about the witch and kept purposefully seating them next to each other and assigning them on missions. Will kept annoying her, asking her questions about her past and pointing out when she was lying, though whenever he hit a real boundary he backed off. After Holliway realized he had on crush on her, she told him to stop it, which he didn’t. He started flirting more openly until she finally gave it. He’s good at breaking through the walls she’s built over the years. Of not trusting or caring because everyone will just forget and it will hurt again. It’s not the most functional relationship. Holliway is so lonely and desperate for a connection that she puts up with a lot once she admits to herself that she likes him. He’s always pestering and curious even when she just wants a quiet moment. While he never fully breaks a boundary, he toes the line a lot, which wears on her over time. And Will is more enamored with the idea of her, treating her like a project to solve, as well as being pretty flighty and disloyal. Like he definitely still looks and flirts at other women, though he wouldn’t actively cheat on Holloway while they’re in a relationship. He’s also jealous of her friendship with Douglas Keane Sr. He’s one of the few people to make her laugh and they jokingly steal stuff from each other all the time (the jacket.) Wilbur also dressed in double denim before he met Holloway, but he keeps adding more denim just to one up her. She pretends to be annoyed by this but finds it endearing. He doesn’t listen to Holly’s advice though, which gets him in trouble numerous times, most vitally with the portal. He has a million different nicknames for her, (occasionally stumbling upon a past name of hers and triggering the memory curse) and she calls him Will sometimes.

Holliway is a mentor to Xander, and Wilbur to John. They disagree on their teaching styles a lot, Holly prefers to go over every detail and make a clear plan, while Will just throws John into situations and then critiques how he handled them. Xander and John each like the method their taught with, but Holly and Will argue about it a lot.

Holly bakes him apple pie, because it’s his favorite. Each of their deals with the Lords reflect the tree of life (Holly) and the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Wilbur).

Holliway is skeptical of the portal plan from the moment it’s conceived. She warns Wilbur about it repeatedly, but he waved it off as her always butting heads with the general. He sneaks quite a bit of her research to the people building the portals, it would’ve been impossible without her knowledge of the black and white, but she refused to help. The date of the portal’s activation is pushed a few days ahead of schedule (on a day Holly’s out on a mission) at the last moment, at Wilbur’s request specifically so Holly can’t stop him. Wilbur doesn’t believe how dangerous she claims the black and white is, partially because she never gave him concrete examples of what was in there, and partially because there’s a bit of him that is jealous of how much power she has, and thinks she might be purposefully hiding the source of her magic so he can never been on the same level as her.

I’m the Black and White, the Lords pray on these insecurities, and reveal a lot of Holly’s past to him. She has done a lot of bad things, many of which she would tell Cross of for doing. He sees her as a hypocrite, rather than someone who has learned from her mistakes. He’s gifted the Black Blade, which finally makes him as powerful as Holly. His first victim is Douglas Keane Sr., a strike directed to hurt Holly, just as much as it is removing someone opposed to the Lords.

So, on the dilema about how to make and use sigils discretily, I may have come up with something: ✨numerical sigils✨

It is extremely simple to do and its not very artistic or particularly pretty. It is as its name suggests: a string of numbers, so you could write on your hand or a piece of paper or on a digital post-it in your laptop or cellphone and no one would bat an eye (which is extremely useful for a closeted witch like me).

I got the idea from my job, where i use a lot of part numbers, or PNs for short. If you are familiar with the concept of a PN, you know that it is a code that refers to an item in your ERP/system/whatever. It is a way to categorize and identify things in a database.

Usually, the process of creating a new PN follows a set of rules like type of product, size, technical characteriscs and so on, followed by a serial number (1, 2, 3, ..., 100, etc). The result is a unique code that refers to only one especific item or product.

Now, i didn't came up with anything fancy for this part, but i think it has a lot of potential. For now, I am stiking with a table that goes from 1 to 9 (bc 9 is a perfect number) and each letter from the alfabet is assigned a number:

The process of creation is simple: write the word or frase of your sigil, take the vowels out and swap the remaing letters with their respective numbers. That is all. There is some wiggle room here to customize your sigil: you can take out the numbers that apear more than once, for exemple.

You could argue that it takes all the fun out of creating sigils, but for me personally it helped focusing on the intent/goal of a sigil. Also i love the practicality of this method.

Anyways, its a work in progress and very experimental, but im sharing it regardless.

Overanalyzing Jack Jeanne Part 3: Summer Performance Preview Featuring Birthday Boy Neji

Neji's birthday is March 22nd! To celebrate he can have a half bowl of rice.

And also a preview of my summer overanalysis with his segment. Haven't put picture in yet but it is still...long. And maybe not finished because I still need to add a bit about his role as Employee A and what it means to be given value...look there's a reason why I'm calling it an overanalysis.

As the one who cast Kisa as a Jack and started the transfer debacle, Neji's the main trigger for this season's conflict. His choices mattered in the first season as well, but here it's more blatant that Neji's intentionally causes trouble. A serial trouble causer in fact, given how he's done things like this since taking over as class lead for the past year. Reasons being are numerous.

One almost sensible reason is he wants to see his classmates grow and develop. Nothing malicious in that! He gives them challenges and pushes their buttons because he knows it can help them on stage. He wants them to do well because he does care for them, even if it means making them go through some growing pains. It's appreciative how he continues to give the 1st years ways to help them improve that are within their limits. Even if the 1st years aren't aware that what he asks for is within their limits. And he gave Kisa a Jack role because he knew she'd be able to do it, and he used the debacle for her to get access to the resources to achieve that. It's not mere faith in her, but a fundamental understanding based on what he learned during the newcomers season. He can be a good, caring class lead.

...But on the other hand the other reason he also does things like the transfer debacle is because he's always hungry for talent, and seeing other's untapped potential makes him want to mercilessly hunt for what can draw out that talent while forgetting what the person who holds that talent is going through. He becomes calculating in his schemes, manipulating others without malice but also without consideration. Like a crow biting a dogs tail, he's not doing it to be cruel, but because it's fun to see the reaction.

He knows how to draw out people's talent in more sensible, slow methods. He uses these methods with Suzu, Soshiro and Otori, which while all headache inducing are manageable. And with the upperclassman who he's already known for awhile while he gives them pointed lines and puts his hopes for them in the script he doesn't push them beyond reason.

But then there's Kisa. Initially I think assigning her a Jack role is still around the level of challenge for her as the challenges for the 1st years. But this is Kisa who after receiving assistance from the upperclassman improved leagues beyond what Neji predicted. A new talent that surprised him, something new, something exciting. He needed to see how far this new talent could go. So when there was an opportunity to further this talent's potential, he took it all the way. Because seeing this exciting talent grow outweighed his consideration for the person who held it, regardless of how certain he was that it would all work out.

It's good that he's in a class willing to chew him out for it, especially his friends in the same year. They care enough about him to expect him to do better. And it's because he has friends willing to talk sense to him and a class who he cares deeply about that he's able to realize when he's gone too far, and he does apologize for it. Even though he's not the one looking in the mirror this season, he was able to see and acknowledge this part of himself through his friends.

And then Kisa says she wants to be Kai's vessel. I think Neji gave Kai the role of "vessel" because of Kai's ability to accept and provide all he can for the stage. But Neji never intended for Kai to just be a vessel. He wanted more for Kai, but given Kai's low sense of self he knew he couldn't push him too far, or else Kai might shrink back. It's why in the story he wrote he showed a character who could learn to dance and show off, yet still shined brightly because of his supportive and kind self. He wants more for Kai, but he's accepting of Kai as he is now.

But then there's Kisa, giving him the exact opportunity he wanted for Kai. And it's something new, something exciting, something beyond his expectations. And the brakes are off again. Neji not only discovered Kisa's talent of absorbing others traits and abilities for her roles, but her willingness to take drastic measure for the sake of both the stage and the people who stand on it's surface. He's found a genius in Quartz, and wants to see just how far they could fly.

...Yeah he definitely deserved the meat ban from the fancy restaurant this season.

Oh and also we discovered this season that Neji was initially in Amber until transferring mid last year. You know, Amber, the class full of geniuses that didn't participate this season. No biggie.

5. Lilith's Revenge

This arch contributes to the disclosure of both Lilith and Lucifer. The plot is based on Lilith's desire to take revenge on Lucifer for deceiving her in Eden. It was Lucifer who led Lilith into the Abyss, but not as a "full-fledged citizen of society", at least, but as a servant and a mockery. Since the demons, for the most part (the exception is the hierarchy of air demons, archai), have a patriarchy, no one took Lilith seriously.

However, thanks to the less principled archai demons, Lilith was able to take a low, but definite place in the society of demons. But despite this, some of them, especially the seraphim, did not stop looking at her from above. Lilith was able to gain a foothold among the Archai by opening the world to them… carnal pleasures (for there are only men among the angels, respectively, even after being exiled and becoming demons, they still did not know this side of life). For the fact that she discovered such a "miracle" for them, the archai began to praise Lilith. They brought her everything she demanded and fulfilled her every request (within the framework of the laws of the community demons).

Considering that since this "method" helped her gain the favor of a whole third of the demons (the archai are the most numerous hierarchy in the Abyss), she decided to settle accounts with Lucifer in this way - to make him fall in love and exalt her.

But she did not take into account the impenetrable pride of Lucifer, a feature of all seraphim. It was this arch that contributed to the appearance of the Ate) So throughout the entire arc, Lilith will already try to seduce Lucifer out of her own pride and principle, in order to humiliate him. As a result, the arc will end already in season 1, somewhat differently from the outcome that Lilith and Lucifer himself expected.

6. A fallen friend

This is the arch of the angel Andrasel, who was unlucky enough to be in Sodom on that day to fulfill an assignment from the son of Yahweh. Initially, an arch was not planned with him, but there is too much of him in the scenes for an episodic character. But it can be useful in revealing the angels of Empyrean to the viewer. If he does not have an arch, and the scenes with him will be enough, it is not clear what he does in the scene without conflict, except for the explanation for the setting. His arch is directly connected and crosses Belial's arch and the main storyline.

So during the main storyline, he stumbles upon a former friend of the demon in Sodom, whom they have not seen since the expulsion of those from the Empyrean - Belial. Unaware of what is on his mind, he agrees to meet with him, despite the rules, as he wants to find out how his life is. But everything is not going according to plan for both of them. I described above what Belial's arch and his motive are, and so, Andrasel becomes the antagonist of his idea. And since he does not agree in principle to "contribute" to Belial's idea, Belial, during the scuffle, steals from him a halo - a "pass" to the Empyrean, without which Andrasel will not be able to return home. So the main conflict of this arch is Andrasel should force Belial to return the halo without violating his principles,

7. Temptation for Asmodeus

There was no arch planned with him either, but since the character will be associated with the Astaroth arch, it will obviously take some time to get to know him for the desired effect. His problem is simple, he also stumbles upon the trigger character Belial.

His goal is closely related to the arch of the Head of the Abyss. As the youngest seraphim, Asmodeus is eager to get one of these positions in the next election. Since the elections will take place on the basis of voting by other demons, the popularity, respect or sympathy of other demons for the candidate plays the greatest role here. Unlike Moloch, Asmodeus has fewer problems with self-control, and therefore more chances. But he has a weakness not particularly characteristic of seraphim - for simple pleasures. For the time being, he did not show curiosity about them and kept aloof until he decided to gain popularity among the most numerous hierarchy of demons for elections - the Archai, where he was unlucky to meet Belial.

Next, there is unlikely to be a spoiler if you Google the demon of what Asmodeus is in demonology. Of course, judging by his description, he does not look like the original Asmodeus. But why should the demon of lust be so sophisticated in this? Everything is known by comparison. In order to call this Asmodeus immoral, in the setting it is enough to compare other seraphim with him. He is the only demon in the seraphim hierarchy who has had an affair with a partner of his own sex. Considering how other hierarchies treat such connections (negatively), if Asmodeus's affair is revealed, he will definitely have no chance of a position, and never will be. So his conflict, similar to the Lucifer arch, is to conceal the fact in order to exclude his vilification. However, unlike Lucifer, he will rush back and forth in an attempt to get rid of his weakness.

The arches for the first season are finished. I will not prescribe the arches of other seasons here, there is no point. The framework of the whole story is ready, need to focus on season 1. Currently, Sebastian and Ominis were having a heated debated if you could cast accio on a person and not just mere objects. Meanwhile, Imelda Reyes was trying to express her frustrations on quidditch getting cancelled this year for the one hundredth time to Grace Pinch-Smedley who had her nose in a book focused on scientific innovations in the muggle realm and barely paid attention. Although she did seem to get more success with talking with Zsuzsi Schröder, a Ravenclaw who also lost her opportunity to further her skills as a beater this season.

Phineas casually glanced over at Georgiana Wotton, a fascinating individual in his year and a Gryffindor student who always held a grudge against him. Typically, she guarded herself with her friends which used to consist of Phineas’ own sister although no longer because of her graduation a few months ago. Yet Phineas knew full well they still communicated regularly and Georgiana was seemingly planning to meet up with her in Hogsmeade, curious to see how Gladys’ new work as an investigator was currently going now that she was a few months in.

On her left was one of her housemates and beloved friends, Natsai Onai, although everyone knew her better as Natty. She was a relatively recent addition to Hogwarts, arriving with her mother at the beginning of the previous year from Matableland following her transfer from Uagadou when her mother became their new divination professor. But not as recent as Mina and Esther, which made him curious on what was taking the latter so long since he could have sworn she promised to meet up with them. He could see why Natty got along with Georgiana considering she was also skilled in wandless magic so they could help each other with improving their skills and maintain proficiency.

Phineas did not plan to take divination as an elective although he knew some of his peers did. He simply did not see why he should take on such an unnecessary elective when he could use his free time pursuing ancient knowledge. Coincidentally it seemed like the same time her started thinking of some of his peers who took divination, two entered the Great Hall, Marie McKay and Farrah Ellington to be exact, and as they approached, it became clear they had some big news to share.

“You will not believe what me, Enfys, and Farrah heard in the divination classroom.” Marie eagerly informed the group.

Phineas had to admit that despite not enjoying divination, he was intrigued, “What did you hear?”

“Me and Marie stayed behind to ask Professor Onai some of our curiosities about divination. Then she suddenly gave the most captivating prophecy that out ranked any I have read about before” Farrah explained before taking a few moments to think before reciting the prophecy, “I believe it was ‘A presumably everlasting curse shall become no more… As two souls will venture on the thousandth year… Born of the same day but one shall come ten years before… And with a balanced ritual, will cease the voices whispering in ears…’”

“Fascinating.” Sebastian breathed with widened eyes. “Speaking of which, where is Enfys?”

“Well, she was coming to meet up with us after our divination class, and I suppose she got bored with waiting so she came in just seconds before Professor Onai gave the prophecy.” Marie explained rather than giving a usual suspicious or sarcastic remark to Sebastian, “After we left we noticed she seemed strangely quiet and uncomfortable. Although she brushed off our concerns before deciding to go on her own rather than doing our usual plans.” She then glanced at Farrah and then back at him and the others, “We are worried Enfys knows something about what this prophecy means and is going to get herself hurt.”

“You must remember that most prophecies proceed the majority of the events they discuss, including the births of some of the people they refer to.” Ominis bluntly reminded them, “And while your concern is admirable, prophecies are cloudy and murky with no sense of reason

“Ominis does have a point.” Phineas agreed, “Plus prophecies are just a bunch of riddles and riddles are nothing but rubbish.”

Georgiana suddenly slammed her book shut in a manner that startled Phineas and made him flinch, “You insensitive idiot!” She exclaimed.

“What did I do now?!” Phineas snapped back, the way Georgiana always found something to be mad with him about ever since he made a statement about wandless magic which she was passionately pursuing.

“You are always like this.” Georgiana complained, “Saying things with little thought.”

“Give him a break Wotton.” Sebastian smoothly intervened, “Riddles are hardly a necessity for non Ravenclaws so it would make sense for them to view them as nothing more than rubbish.”

“Did you consider checking in with Enfys?” Basil calmly asked to ease the growing tension.

“No.” Farrah informed her brother, “But after we expressed our fascination with Professor Onai’s words she seemed to be even more cross with us. And I’m sure she will act the same if we ask her now.”

“I can go talk with her.” Zsuzsi offered, standing up become another word was said. “She might open up to me since I was not present.”

“You are welcome to give it a try.” Marie agreed, “Thank you.”

“Not a problem.” Zsuzsi nodded before making a swift exit out of the Great Hall

Imelda folded her arms bored, “I still do not see what is so interesting about this prophecy when you focus on present events like quidditch.”

“You do know quidditch is cancelled?” Grace softly reminded her.

“You can never be too prepared.” Imelda glared daggers.

“Could you imagine.” Marie spoke ignoring Imelda’s frustration and Grace’s whimsical responses, “Perhaps there was a reason me, Farrah, and Enfys were in the room when Professor Onai made that prophecy.”

with this method, the astrologer might assign a numerical value to the planet ruling the 7th house based on its position in the zodiac.

for example, if the 7th lord is mars and it is placed in aries, which is the first sign of the zodiac, it might be assigned the number 1.

What is Numerology?

Numerology is a pretty old technique that uses numbers to assess the character and destiny of any given person. It can also be used to check the nature of a new pet, business, and anything else with a name and/or a start/birth date. This can also be paired with a simple form of astrology for more accurate predictions, or used on its own. A simple search on the Britannica website for ‘numerology’ will give you an extremely short article. But, I pulled the following quote from there: “The theory behind numerology is based on the Pythagorean idea that all things can be expressed in numerical terms because they are ultimately reducible to numbers.” 

However, numerology was practiced in Ancient India (in the Vedas) and China (in the I Ching) which were, coincidentally, before Pythagoras/the Pythagorean Brotherhood’s time. But, since the way Pythagoras taught his method of using numerology seemed to have truly stuck with most other cultures around the world, this way of numerology is the most accessible. The ancient Greeks, Romans, and Hebrews also used number systems based on the letters of their alphabet; but the numbers we have today came from the Arabs.

Let’s get to the fun part!

How do I use Numerology?

So, Numerology in my opinion, is the absolute easiest form of divination. Just remember to take notes as you go, and you’ll be fine! 

Or, you can reach out for help from someone you trust that knows numerology; or you can reach out to literally anyone on the internet willing to teach this, but be careful with that one… I believe knowledge should be free, but that’s not the case with a few other people, I’ve heard. So if they ask for a payment, make sure you’ve truly looked at their blog/page. If their vibe doesn’t sit right with you, don’t do it. Money can make good people funny. And not in a good way.

Okay! Let’s get back to this topic. How do I/you use numerology? Super easy. There are two SUPER common types of numbers, and they are usually the first thought in people’s head when they think about Numerology as a whole. They are the Destiny and Life Path numbers!

The difference between these numbers is that the Destiny number shows your life’s purpose and the pattern by which you’ll achieve that, and the Life’s Path number is usually used to make forecasts about one's future. 

I’ll make a separate post on what the numbers 1—9 mean, because that’s what we’re going to be working with for right now; but in the meantime, let me explain what you’ll need to figure out your numbers!!

Materials:

Your Full Name

Your Date of Birth

Pen/pencil

Paper

Calculator (optional)

It’s not a super complex mathematical formula that we’ll be using, just some basic addition!

Also!! If you are transgender, or nonbinary; or you’ve changed your name for any reason—PLEASE use the name YOU HAVE CHOSEN for yourself! If you’re comfortable with it too, you can also use the old/dead name to compare the potential outcomes of your life! If you’re not too comfortable with that, don’t sweat it!

Okay, so you’ve got your materials; cool beans, now what? You’re now going to assign the letters of the alphabet numbers!

Instructions: 

Write the numbers 1—9 across the width of the paper. So you’re going to write out:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9, making sure they’re spaced out enough to write in columns beneath them and not have things overlapping. For ease of reading!

Put the letters beneath the numbers in the order I have listed:

A,J,S under 1.

B,K,T under 2

C,L,U under 3

D,M,V under 4

E,N,V under 5

F,O,X under 6

G,P,Y under 7

H,Q,Z under 8

I,R under 9.

Now, spell out your FULL NAME!! 1st, middle (if you have it), last and anything after that! You’re now going to add up the numbers! I like to keep my number in three separate rows, so my first name has one, middle the second, and last the third line.. Just for the sake of keeping things readable/not too overwhelming.

My numbers, just because I don’t want to give my full name out on the internet; are:

24, 29, 29. But! We need one number between 1 and 9. If you do 24+29(2)=82, you can then simplify my numbers to: 8+2=10, 1+0=1.

What we did here was we found our Destiny number. Pretty neat right?

Let’s do our life path number as well.

Get your birthday written out, it doesn't matter if you use the UK, US, or any other style of writing out dates, because they will always add up to the same number!

Mine is: 12/20/2003. I’ve got it pretty easy, because there’s a bunch of 0’s in mine and I’m working with small numbers.

1+2+2+0+2+0+0+3=10, 1+0=1. And BOOM! We have our life path number as well.

Dr. Henry Ransom Cecil McBay (Born May 29, 1914 - June 23, 1995) was a chemist and teacher. He won numerous awards for his teaching and mentoring, including the American Chemical Society Award. He co-founded the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers.

He was born in Mexia, Texas. he married Shirley Ann Mathis (1954).

He joined a research team at Tuskegee Institute assigned the task of finding a suitable substitute for jute fiber. Okra could be harvested for food or fiber, but not for both.
