I'm not 100% sure which of your wips these would apply to but I am curious nonetheless:

thank you!!
i only have a couple sci-fi WIPs, one of them is Out of the Park, and the other is my very new Space Cruise WIP. I think i'll be able to include both of them in this!
🤔What kind of technology is still being developed in your WIP? What’s something they’re still trying to figure out?
Answered this one for Space Cruise already, so I'll go with OOTP!
There's still no widespread space travel in this WIP! Once sapient robots got accidentally created, it kinda went on the back-burner of "things that are important to deal with right now." It's been a little while, though, so figuring out how to travel through space is back on! And now that robots exist, they can probably help achieve that goal!
🏈Have any new sports or games been invented with the advancement of technology? What are they?
Perhaps it's not a "new" sport, but in the case of OOTP, the existence of robots that are smarter, faster, and stronger than humans has led to adapting existing sports to make accommodate robot players without it being super easy and boring. At least casually, the professional world still has to catch up.
Co-ed robot/human sports clubs tend to have a no-contact rule for obvious reasons, and while this might seem like it makes things way more boring, it actually produces some creative solutions. How do you get the other team to drop the Sport Ball without touching them? How do you, as the person with the Sport Ball, get through the wall of defense without barreling through it?
Additionally, since robots can perfectly calculate angles, wind resistance, strength to throw a certain distance/speed, etc, the psychological warfare game is off the charts. You can't stop them from throwing the ball perfectly, but can you convince to throw it in the wrong direction?
Making sports more like a puzzle isn't necessarily what a lot of people are into, but it's better than purposefully inhibiting your own functioning and damaging your CPU in the process. Not naming names.
😟Do people have mixed feelings about colonizing space? Are there movements to stop humanity’s expansion?
This one is Space Cruise Related!
There are absolutely groups that want humanity to stop claiming planets and territories, on both ends of the spectrum. One side is on the Colonization Bad end, because colonization is bad. They cite the resource gobbling that happens on nearly every human settlement and then point back to Earth—the cycle of destroying a planet in the name of short-term profit is repeating itself over and over, and now we also have to contend with the fact that extraterrestrial life exists. Are we killing alien animals? Species that will never get to evolve to become our neighbors? What would have happened to these planets if they were left alone? They already had life on them and it's not humanity's place to stick a flag in everything that "isn't technically inhabited."
On the other end, there groups that want humanity to stop expanding because humanity is making too many friends with aliens, and we should instead be blowing them up. We need to lock down our borders that we already have—we can't possibly defend so many planets if The Scary Bad Aliens attack!!!!! We need to make sure all humans are segregated from aliens to reinforce our True Nature and take over the galaxy.
Both of these groups are relatively fringe.
💡Has humanity invented faster-than-light travel? If not, are they working on it?
This one is Space Cruise Related!
They have! I'm gonna be honest, this sci-fi is soft as fuck, and I am not even going to bother thinking about how FTL travel exists. The important thing is that they have spaceships that can go real fast and that's all you need to know <3
🧬How different are the aliens, biologically, from humans in your WIP? Are they bonding over shared mammalian traits or unable to comprehend each other?
This one is Space Cruise Related!
The one sapient alien race I currently have are my crocodile aliens that I spoke about in another ask (you can find their description here). They are reptiles! They are quite different from humans, being a whole different class and order of animals most obviously.
Before the two groups got their respective top linguists up there and learned each other's languages, the only way they knew the other group was at least somewhat advanced was they they both had spaceships. And translating that language was hard, too, since the croc aliens don't have the same vocal chords as humans do, or lips, and their tongues can't move much, so their frills supplements a lot of their speech when it comes to tone and intention. Humans, on the other hand, make so many crazy fuckin' noises and scrunch our faces up when we have feelings instead of having the manners to turn a completely different color, it's hard for them to differentiate our tones and expressions. Because there's so goddamn many of them.
Humans are initially (and probably still) weirded out that these aliens don't wear a whole lot, meanwhile the aliens are wondering why we aren't basking. Aren't we cold? And once they figure out we can regulate our own body temperature they go WHAT??? WE DIDN'T KNOW MAMMALS COULD BE SAPIENT and then humans go WE DIDN'T KNOW REPTILES COULD BE EITHER!!!
There's a lot of learning going on! We are different, but also much the same <3

Prompt for February 9: Call me
I'm about to have way too much fun with this and throw in random worldbuilding shit, fair warning.
"Fucking hell, Cissy, you could have called," Sirius said, which was probably suitable for the first thing he had said to her in a decade and a half. Though it wasn't quite fair--she hadn't had time to send any kind of warning, knowing the Dark Lord would likely have noticed her and Draco's absence by now, and she couldn't really remember how to work a Muggle tellyfone anyway. It was a miracle she had gotten away so cleanly. When the Dark Lord had killed Lucius, he had put the other Malfoys under close guard, and it had taken the best of Narcissa's remembered childhood skills at sneaking away from powerful Dark wizards to get them out.
The gravelly black stone Muggles made their roads out of was starting to dig unpleasantly into Narcissa's knees. If she hadn't had so many other concerns, she would have started to fear for her dress, which was probably the nicest thing she owned, currently. But she would worry about her dress when Sirius let her inside. She squinted through her heavy veil to try and gauge his expression.
If they had been fifteen years younger Narcissa would have said something funny back to him. But there would be time for that later, if he let her inside.
"Lord Sirius son of Orion of the House of Black, I am a daughter of your house, come to beg your protection and throw myself on your mercy," she said, as quickly as she could so they didn't waste any more time. When people had done these rituals in her childhood they had always called it the Noble and Most Ancient House, but those words had no magical significance, so she skipped them. It was ridiculous to be doing this in a Muggle street, but one of her less-clever ancestors had put Grimmauld in Muggle London and so they would have to work with it. She could feel the magic in her words already starting to work, waiting to see what Sirius would do.
"God damn you for making me do this," Sirius said. So he would keep on to his radical noble-abolition ideals to the end, then. That was her cousin and his damnable ethics. But it was make him be Lord of the House of Black in truth as well as name, or trust Dumbledore blindly, and she didn't trust Dumbledore. "You can come in without having to swear to me," he said, and she remembered that she loved her cousin for those same ethics, for giving her a choice.
"I need assurances," she said. Draco, unconscious from the Stunner she'd had to hit him with to make him go quietly, was starting to stir. She hoped Sirius would make up his mind and do his duty quickly, before her son decided to pull something that would bring the Dark Lord down on both their heads. "I don't particularly want to be a daughter of the House again, do you think I'd do this if I had any better option?"
"Fine," Sirius said. "Fair enough." And it was with those wildly unceremonious words that the magic of the House of Black sprung back to life. Even from under the veil she could see her cousin shivering, just as she did. "Everything okay with the kid? I thought you didn't believe in hexing children."
"He wouldn't have left otherwise," she said, and it hurt both to say and to face someone who knew exactly why she had made that pledge.
"Even after Voldemort killed his father?" Sirius said. "Congratulations on the widowing, by the way."
God, she had missed him. Congratulating a widow! No sense of propriety, and she couldn't bring herself to care.
"Are you going to call Andromeda? Might as well get all of us left back together?" she asked him, knowing Bella in Azkaban was likely lost to her now. So she might as well exchange one sister for another.
"Only if she wants," Sirius said. Narcissa rose to her feet, and looked up at the familiar door made suddenly strange. If Sirius didn't call Andromeda, she might well have to learn the tellyfone herself.

So say being master of death would include death deities how do you think there relationship with Harry would be?
Hello 👋
I don't think being the MoD has anything to do with any death dieties — mostly, because I don't think these dieties exist in the HP universe.
I already talked about the MoD here and here, and about Necromancy in HP in general here. But it always seemed to me that true Necromancy doesn't really exist in HP (it's telling its most advanced form of it is Inferi, which don't even count as 'alive'. I truly believe Voldemort lied to Harry when he offered to allow him to talk to his parents in first year. Harry was right), and that Death, as portrayed in the Tale of the Three Brothers, isn't real. Beings like that just don't fit with the worldbuilding we see. I see Death in the story more like how people talk about the Angel of Death or the Grim Reaper — usually as more of a figurative concept, an artistic rendition of personified death, rather than a being they really believe exists. As such, Harry wouldn't have a dynamic with any death deity, I just don't think there are any in HP.
(Obviously, you can headcanon death deities and write them in fic, I just don't think it makes sense with the world as shown in the books)
I don't think being the MoD actually gives him that many new abilities or anything, all things considered. Like:
He'd be the master of all 3 Deathly Hallows (so he'd have the wand, the stone, and the cloak with all their capabilities)
He wouldn't die until he chose to. And he will choose to die eventually. Like Ignotus Peverell. (talked about it more in the first post I linked).
Some limited access to the veil. As in, he could step into the veil and come out alive. I believe he could've pulled Sirius out if he went in immediately after Sirius died, but he won't be able to bring back anyone else due to how Sirius died, which was kind of unique, magic-wise. (talked about it more in the first post I linked).
General resilience to harmful spells. I low-key think Harry's ability to resist the Cruciatus is related to his MoD status. After he dies in the forest, he can resist it, he can not feel it: "He was lifted into the air, and it took all his determination to remain limp, yet the pain he expected did not come." (DH). So, yeah.
And that's like it, really.
I like to think of the MoD as something more subtle. I like to think all these skilled wizards (Voldemort, Dumbledore, and Grindelwald) who searched out the Hallows would have been disappointed were they to truly master them all. They were arrogant, theatrical, and loved showing off in ‘bangs-and-smells’ magic. The duel between Voldemort and Dumbledore at the end of OotP is a good example of their tendency to show off. Of their need for everyone to know they are the best and greatest.
Harry isn't like that though. Harry doesn't have that need, and that's why he is the Master of Death. I like to think that like Harry's more subtle talent and skill, the MoD's abilities aren't impressive at first glance. They aren't ones the likes of Voldemort or Dumbledore will see as impressive enough, they will be let down by what it means to be the MoD — but not Harry. For Harry, it would be too much, more than he ever considered wanting, but that he'll happily take and use it if it can help him protect himself and the people he cares about.
So, thematically, I just really like the idea of being the MoD not actually meaning much. Yes, it keeps you alive, but you aren't actually the master of death. You can't do necromancy or have any special abilities beyond what the Hallows allow. I love the idea that if Voldemort, Dumbledore, or Grindelwald actually became the MoD, any of them would have been disappointed because they expected more. But Harry will take what he can get, because he didn't even expect that much, yk?
(I just love the more tame not op version of being the MoD because of the themes. It's still impressive, resisting the Cruciatus is impressive, Immortality is impressive, it's just not an in-your-face impressive, but it doesn't need to be. It doesn't need to be more. Mastering death is about accepting you will die and that immortality wouldn't last forever, just until you are ready.)
So, yeah, these are my opinions on the MoD stuff and why I like to keep the abilities simple and straightforward in my own headcanons. I think it works better with HP's lore and with the book's themes. It also fits Harry's character better, Harry, who prefers Expelliarmus or Stupify or any other "lame spell" because they are effective. He doesn't need his spells to be impressive, he needs them to work.

Day 7: the best of your OTP *
📚 Bond by Anna Fugazzi **
Draco/Harry, 174k, M, OOTP compliant ***
Summary:
Yet another one of those Harry And Draco Are Forced To Be Together By Something Beyond Their Control And Then Stuff Happens Leading To Twoo Wuv stories. Because every HD writer has to write at least one.
First off, if you enjoy bond fics and haven't (somehow) read this gem yet - oh boy, are you in for a treat. This was the very first bond fic I've read so for me it's an archetype of the trope, sort of like an exemplary model. It has it all - the very veeeery slow enemies to husbands to lovers, excellent plot, worldbuilding and the writing style to die for.
I asolutely loved the bond theme of it and how we can slowly see the boys start to trust each other and how they become friends and each other's Persons’. What I also loved was how believabe the characters were. It was absolutely enfuriating to read how Draco stays true to his beliefs but at te same time, exactly that has made him an excellently-sculptured character. Plus, it makes the final resolution so much sweeter :')
I also have to mention the way intimacy is handled in this fic, because it was so down-to-earth and realistic. In the story both boys are sixteen year olds, forced to suddenly spend all the time with someone they don't even like so obviously the intimacy part was going to be tricky. Dont get me wrong, I like "and suddenly they were kissing" just like any other girl but I LOVED reading how getting intimate was actually difficult for the boys (well, one of them xd) and how they've overcome this (and boy, they have, don't worry 😇).
Oh and also the h/c elements were delicious 💔.
I have already read this fic multiple times. I have this tradition that I read it every summer (and every other about-Christmas time actually) so I have many memories reading it: in uni during English Lit lecture (oh irony haha), on the bus stop, on the beach in Croatia, in my parent's house, in office at work.
I also remember when I was only learning English (lol) and so I have listed every word I didnt know the meaning of from the epilogue to my English notebook (I still have it somewhere!). So yeah, this fic has taught me the word spouse and expression rotten luck xd
Thank you for today’s prompt @hprecfest and until the next one!
* I really appreciate this prompt’s wording as „the best of your OTP” allowed my autistic black-and-white brain write about just one fic as it obviously is one of the best. My OTP happens to be one of the most popular ones hence there is at least a dozen of my personal bests of (some of which are included in the other day’s prompts but some just have to wait for another fest. There's simply too many 😅).
** I actually planned writing about this fic on day 3 for not-on-AO3 prompt as I’ve read this fic on FF.net like, 10 times minimum. So I wrote the whole rec and just before linking FF.net page I thought, let me just check if it is DEFINITELY not on AO3.
And guess what. It is. And I have it bookmarked xd
*** So many adnotations for this one, sorry! Anyway, I wanted to make sure you are informed – Anna writes on her dashboard that she is not tagging her works on AO3 – so tread carefully!
#hprecfest2024#hprecfest#drarry#drarry fic rec#hp#bond#anna fugazzi#OOTP compliant so they come back for sixth year and stuff happens#not canon stuff since the canon post book 5 didnt exist and we were young and happy xd#honestly I feel like I know excerpts of this fic by heart#I read it so much#I think the only one fic that I've read more times is a stucky fav#this you protect#oooh this one is just 😭❤#HPDM#my recs#froidefille recs

Day 3: a fic not on AO3
@hprecfest
Peripheral Vision by Alexandra Dane. 27000 words.
Snarry!!! <3 One of my fav fics from Long Summer era. I really love reading it in the holiday season. It's got this super cozy vibe. Great pacing and characterizations, tons of Shakespeare Snape :D Snark, Pining, Angst with a happy ending
Blurb: When the fix becomes the problem. They defeat Voldemort but his death destroys magic. The relationship progress is shown through conversations between Harry and Severus. They don't have their magic anymore. They are both disabled. They are in a halfway house with a lot of other disabled war veterans.. The world is a mess outside but in their room they have got books, snark and heart to hearts... and pining for each other. This story is written before OoTP and it has some of the Snape tropes popular back then like Rich and Pureblood Snape. But the characterization works convincingly because of how the story does worldbuilding.
"Ex-wizards, Potter. Very ex. Surely you remember - one last final surge of elemental magic ripping through everything, Dark Lords dropping dead, Malfoys blasted to vapour, all the witches and wizards in the world losing their powers simultaneously?"

@hprecfest Day 31: a fav amongst favs
renascentia series, by kuchikopi & tonberrys
Instead of dying at eighteen, Regulus faked his death and moved to France. He believes he destroyed the only Horcrux, but when Voldemort returns he realizes there must be more and returns to England to search for them. He arrives at Grimmauld Place only to discover that it's now the Order's headquarters and eventually joins them in their fight against Voldemort.
This series is really excellent. Very character driven, excellent worldbuilding and backstory, nuanced relationships, and a canon divergence story blended so well with the canon plot of OotP and HBP. I especially love what they did with the Black brothers' relationship, the extended family's dynamics and backstory, and their version of Emmeline Vance. And I absolutely adore their take on Regulus.

Aether Coral and the Pharos
The aether coral is a sentient creature made of an unknown, radiant type of energy and builds a calciferous shell around itself, much like Earth corals do. It is telepathic, and capable of communicating with other life forms. It is also capable of granting other creatures superpowered abilities. It is also sometimes called the Pharos, after the lighthouse that now houses and protects the first and largest 'reef' to inhabit Earth.
Aether Coral grants superpowered abilities by forming a symbiotic relationship with another organism, where it attaches and grows on the organism. Although on Earth the Aether Coral primarily bonds with humans, it has on occasion bonded with other animals, and in one instance, a high plateau coconut palm.

Hello, I was wondering if you have any prongsfoot fic recommendations?
I’m pretty new to the ship (and fan fiction) and it appears to overrun with literally ever other ship. So I hope you don’t mind my asking.
I appreciate any help you willing to give me.
💜💜💜
Hi hayati <3333 yes ofc with pleasure. fair warning: my taste in fic (and especially prongsfoot) is sometimes very questionable so check the tags before reading anything.
Pioneers (134k, complete) is like. one of the most popular legendary longfics in the fandom. if toxic/unhealthy codependent dynamics is your thing, it's a must-read. the atyd of j/s except its actually good
On Fire, But We Can't Feel A Thing (100k, 20/?) by @benjamin-ovich is my most re-read fic ever, i am obsessed with it. also a little unhealthy but they're trying lol. amnesia, getting back together, lots of pain for the soul, can not recommend this one enough, seriously. (make sure to subscribe bc i was promised that more fucked up prongsfoot is coming our way)
the ghost of you, it keeps me awake (50k, 12/?) by @gracelesslady23 is a james comes back au set during ootp that I really really love, it tackles all the important issues in this timeline.
Em also has another new wip called you'll see me in hindsight which is an age gap fic where Sirius accidentally time jumps 22 years forward when he is 18. and it's just. soul crushing and drool inducing all at once. mwah.
Anything at all by @padfootastic on the blog or AO3 because I'm obsessed with the way Pen writes them. Some personal favs of mine are i fall to pieces, we should be lovers instead, this unholy smut drabble that's still stuck in my head.
KaiSkitty (@roalinda) has a lot of great works, including the on-going Heaven fic, which is an age-gap, james-comes-back au with a really great premise and amazing worldbuilding.
@siriuslystarbucks's AO3 is an absolute goldmine for anything Prongsfoot, whatever you might want. I aspire to reach this level of dedication one day. The most recent one I've read is Just Come Home, with a s/omc toxic relationship and pining James and a happy ending.
@mycupofrum also posts amazing prongsfoot both here and on AO3. check out Bathe with me for some hot prefect bathroom smut.
@prongsfoot-microfic is an on-going event of daily j/s microfics.
And if I may humbly suggest :)) my own AO3 works as well. My most popular one is Benefits and my most fucked up favourite one is little do you know. + i have lots of things in progress for this month, so [pewdiepie voice] like and subscribe for more.
#i hate making recc lists bc it takes a lot of time and i always feel like i forgot something#i hope i didnt#ill probably remember later when it will be too late#but these are!! top tier#check them out nonnie#we also have a discord server of our own where we share stuff. since its a small fandom and as you said. overruns w lots of ships#dm me if you want a link ill send you an invite#fic recs#prongsfoot#james x sirius#james/sirius#starbucks#bambibelle

Population in the Wizarding World: A Take through Close Reading and Genetics
🌱 A meta? A headcanon? A bit of both. 🌱 🌾
A writer's idea of the population of wizards is relevant for worldbuilding; it defines the feel of the wizarding community as a whole. The books are notoriously contradictory, thus the size of the Hogwarts student body and the population of the wizarding world are highly debated topics in fandom. Basically, the numbers don’t add up.
My argument is that there are a lot more wizards at Hogwarts, and in Europe, than we think.
____________________________
I’ll start by listing a few common theories that I’ve seen used to approximate and/or justify the magicfolk population in the 1990s. Some go hand-in-hand, while others contradict:
The Statute of Secrecy prevents the population of wizards from growing too big.
The birth rate of wizards significantly decreased in the late 1970s during Voldemort’s first rise in power, leading to fewer students in the ‘90s when Harry was in school.
The number of Hogwarts students can be estimated by multiplying the total boys in Harry’s year and House (5) by two to account for boys and girls, by seven to include all years, and by four to include all houses. 5x2x7x4=280 students. Even rounded to 300, this seems astonishingly low.
The wizard population in Britain can be extrapolated by the approximate Hogwarts population using the statistic that 13-16% of human populations are between the ages of 11 and 17, approximating ~1800-2500 wizards in all of Britain (again, this seems low, but it can be explained by the next theory):
A lot of wizards are homeschooled, so the Hogwarts student body isn’t indicative of the entire wizarding population.
While I acknowledge the very real phenomenon of lower birth rates during times of global hardship (war, disease, etc.), and it’s likely that a lot of wizards in the UK don’t go to Hogwarts, I find that most theories don’t take into account two important factors: Harry’s unreliable narration, and a tiny peek into trends of population genetics.
🌱 Harry as an unreliable narrator:
The size of Hogwarts castle, along with descriptions of the student body, seems to be at odds with the few students we actually meet in the narrative. However, some key moments in Harry’s narration lead me to believe that we’re not getting the full picture of how many students there actually are:
1. Harry doesn’t know everyone in his year. We’re introduced to new students of all ages in The Order of the Phoenix via Dumbledore’s Army. But Harry’s introductions to students in his own year are what I find interesting— particularly the Ravenclaw boys and Susan Bones.
When students are entering the Hog’s Head during the first D.A. gathering, Harry notes the presence of “three Ravenclaw boys he was pretty sure were called Anthony Goldstein, Michael Corner, and Terry Boot” (OoTP, p 338). At the least, we know that Terry Boot and Anthony Goldstein are in Harry’s year (they’re sorted in The Philosopher’s Stone). Presumably they’ve shared classes (the Gryffindors share classes with the other two Houses), yet Harry isn’t fully acquainted with them. This is also the case for Blaise Zabini, a Slytherin in Harry’s year with whom he’s had classes but somehow does not meet until The Half-Blood Prince.
Susan Bones is also in Harry’s year (she’s also sorted in PS). We know that Harry has had class with the Hufflepuffs (we meet Justin Finch-Fletchley Herbology in The Chamber of Secrets), yet when she enters the Hog’s Head she’s only described as “a Hufflepuff girl with a long plait whose name Harry did not know” (OoTP, p 338).
Two conclusions could be drawn from the fact that Harry doesn’t know his own peers: 1. He’s exceptionally unobservant, and 2. The student body at Hogwarts is large enough that Harry hasn’t yet encountered some of his classmates.
I choose to believe a bit of both. We know that Harry can be observant, particularly in tense or dangerous situations (recalling the location of Ravenclaw’s diadem in The Deathly Hallows demonstrates some pretty high detail retention). On the other hand, he’s not always the most socially astute, which could allow for the argument that he simply hasn’t bothered to learn the names of some of his classmates.
Personally, I find it unlikely that after more than four years of study with a presumed class size of 20 (2 houses, 10 from each), Harry wouldn’t know the names of these students. I think it’s more likely that the classes are much larger, and that Harry’s year of Gryffindor boys just happens to consist of five students.
2. We never get a clear idea of the Hogwarts student body. Harry’s narration often describes “hundreds” of students at Hogwarts: filling the Great Hall, the stands at school Quidditch matches, and the stadium built for the Triwizard Tournament. “Hundreds” doesn’t give us much to work with (Harry also mentions that the Christmas feast includes “hundreds of fat turkeys” in PS), but I don’t think it makes sense to only use the number of boys in Harry’s dorm for reference. The Sorting Hat divides students based on their innermost traits and talents, which shouldn’t mean that it fills a quota every year for each house. It’s likely that there’s a huge variety in the number of students per dorm, if the Sorting is legitimate.
The sheer size of the castle, the fact that there are four Quidditch teams with reasonably good players, and the fact that so many students don’t know each other are all reasons to believe that Hogwarts’ student body is much larger than 300 students across seven years.
Harry’s a kid who often has a lot on his mind; it’s unlikely that he’s introducing us to enough students for us to obtain an accurate gauge of class size from the text.
🧬 The heritability and population genetics of being Magical:
This won’t get too dry, I hope promise. Regardless of whether you accept the above “large student body at Hogwarts” theory or prefer the “lots of children are homeschooled” theory, the likelihood of a small wizarding population in the UK (and, by extent, the world) is slim. We know a few things to back this up:
It’s not that uncommon for a wizard to be born to two Muggles (the Muggle-born Registration Commission is proof of this).
The occurrence of Squibs (non-magical people born to two magical parents) seems to be exceedingly rare (Ron mentions this in CoS).
Anyone who is a wizard (pureblood, half-blood, Muggle-born) can reasonably expect their child to possess magical abilities, regardless of the other parent’s abilities.
I want to look at magical ability through the context of what we know about genetics and heritable traits. Regardless of blood status, we see only two varieties of magic: Magical and Not Magical. Basically, you’re either a wizard or you’re not. Thus, we can use a Mendelian genetics model as a basis for comparison.
When it comes to genes that present two distinct variants of a heritable trait, there is often a “dominant” allele (a version of the gene) that will present itself even when combined with the “recessive” allele. A common example is eye color: if you receive one copy of the dominant brown eye allele, then you’ll have brown eyes, regardless of the allele you’ve received from the other parent. This can result in multiple different genotypes (genetic makeups) for just two phenotypes (visible traits): Magical and Not Magical. Statistically, that should mean that the half-blood wizards should produce children with the following ratios (sorry to resurrect biology class, but genetics is my job and I love it):
Let’s use M to indicate a dominant Magical copy of the “magic gene,” and m to denominate Not Magical. Thus, both genotypes MM and Mm would encode the Magical trait, while mm would be Not Magical.
As shown above, a cross between two half-blood wizards (Mm and Mm) would statistically produce one non-magical child (or Squib) per every 3 magical children.
However, the three facts listed above don’t support this model of magical inheritance. Half-blood wizards expect their children to be magical with the same confidence as pure-bloods; we don’t hear about enough Squibs to support this 3:1 ratio. And two Muggles, presumably with no magical genes between them, can produce a fully-functional wizard. “Magical” seems to work like some kind of all-powerful gene: it can be fully expressed down an entire bloodline with just one copy introduced by one parent.
This breaks all of the models we commonly use for population genetics, which assume that gene variants have to come from somewhere (hence the term “gene pool”), and can’t be created out of thin air other than by random mutation (i.e. Hardy-Weinberg). Instead, new magical bloodlines are constantly being created through Muggle-born wizards, and very few are terminated with the birth of Squibs, indicating that the population of magicfolk will only grow.
Perhaps wizards did see a dip in population during the wars. But they’re still human. And humans procreate; as a species, it’s what we do. Based on the above logic, by far the most likely scenario is that the population of wizards has only continued increasing, rather than declining or even remaining steady.
____________________________
🌱 Lastly, I’ll mention a few more points that support the idea of a large UK and global wizard population, mostly regarding the infrastructure we see:
The UK Ministry of Magic is a huge governing body with hundreds of employees.
The British and Irish Quidditch League alone comprises thirteen teams of professional athletes and reserve players, the funding for which presumably comes from in-person match attendance.
The Quidditch World Cup stadium was built to hold one hundred-thousand seats, yet Arthur is still considered lucky to have obtained tickets.
TLDR: I think there are a lot of wizards out there! And Hogwarts is probably much bigger than we think.
This series is full of plot holes (as are most works of this magnitude; that’s ok), but I think it’s worth it to make meaning from the text we’re given. I’m not expecting to change anyone’s headcanon or assume that fics should be written in one particular way, but I found this fun to think about. I’ve no doubt left out a lot of points (some for brevity’s sake), which I’m happy to discuss! Let me know what you think!
— GreenhouseThree 🌿
P.S. – The same application of genetics cannot accurately be used to define gender, which exists on a spectrum and not as a binary. Well-informed scientists know this. I’m not an expert in biological sex and gender, but I’m happy to provide good research literature on the topic. Sorry (not sorry), JKR.

Hey y’all get ready for some
Danny Phantom Fanfic Recs
Okay, these are all either multi-chapter fics, or series that contain multiple connected one-shots. A separate list for singular one-shots will go up sometime later. I’m not tagging anyone because I’m not sure if some authors even have a Tumblr.
Completed fics are marked with 👻, and in-progress fics are marked with ❌
Keep in mind that these are in no particular order of interest, just whichever ones I strongly recommend as I go back through my reading history. All of these are T at the most, and if there is an M somewhere it’s probably for violence or graphic-ness.
Danny Phantom Only:
(we are) the fault line by iguessyouregonnamissthepantyraid 👻 - Slow burn found family with Vlad regretting past decisions and getting more depth than just “mwahaha I’m going to turn you into the perfect son!!!!” Also Danny speaks in like, two chapters toward the end, and I think that’s quite a bold move to have the quip-dealer so quiet.
Shivers by JadeNoRyuu 👻 - There’s follow-ups, but the main story is really interesting. I also don’t know if the writer’s first language is English, but that makes it even more commendable.
Epiphany by TorScrawls 👻 - Maddie and Jack get character development, and that makes Danny panic lol. There are separate epilogues.
Broken Ectoplasm by ghostanimal 👻 - Very nice story, more Parental Angst, and Danny is incapable of speech for almost all of it. Jack realizes how much of an ass Vlad is without Vlad knowing.
Bitter by thatgirl_youknowtheone ❌ - Vlad fucking poisons Jack at the man’s own b-day party. Jack does not realize he is dead, angst ensues when Danny tells him.
Temper Tantrums by attu 👻 - Lore for my girl Dorathea! Also Danny gets to be a dragon!
Mortified by Marsalias 👻 - Honestly if you haven’t read some of this one yet, go. Read it. Worldbuilding out the ass in this one. Edit: Now complete! Chapter count is over 300 but they’re relatively short.
Three note chords (series) by Hazama_d20 👻 (series is marked as incomplete, but all uploaded fics are completed) - Ember wants to spend a day in Amity, Danny needs help with a talent show. ~Can I make it any more obvious~
Crossovers:
Half Dead Phoenix by SilkNettle ❌ - Trelawney shenanigans. Danny is confused, but he’s not gonna complain about the people giving him a bed. Danny cannot use a wand.
Ghost Kings and Gotham Bats by BlueGhostCardinal ❌ - Ghost King Danny, obviously, but he finds out in an interesting way. Also has Bad Parents Jack/Maddie, so watch out for that.
Weirdward by DarkNymfa 👻 - The OotP needs help, and Muggle ghosts are very strange. Danny can use a wand.
Darcy and the Phantom (Link to first fic, but it is part of a series) by Honyasbookshelf 👻 (series is incomplete, this one is completed) - Danny is sleep-deprived and Darcy carries a taser. Jane is also Danny’s astrophysics hero.
Summoned King AU (series) by Enigmaris ❌ - HYDRA summonings, but he’s in human form every time. The Avengers help him out until Loki tags along and Knows immediately.
Ghost in the NYC (series) by ASharksReadingGlasses 👻 - While I love good parents Jack and Maddie, this one just has Good Dad Jack and Questionable Logic Maddie. Also Spidey and the OG DP, aka Deadpool, accidentally-on-purpose-kinda-sorta adopt him. NOW COMPLETE WITH BONUS EPISODES TO COME!!!
Icebound by Pandemi 👻 - Very neat Justice League fic, I love the premise of Flash fighting… well, just read it.
The Ghost of Heroes by Enigmaris 👻 - MCU crossover. This is in the same vein as Mortified for me. If you haven’t read it, GO READ IT.
Whirlwind, Reflections, and Mirrored by Lynse 👻👻👻 - All involve different parts of the Secret Trio (Danny Phantom, Jake Long, and Randy Cunningham), but Whirlwind throws Chat Noir in there for spice.
Legless on Maim by GothMoth 👻 - This one is mostly for the sake of “hey, that doctor in Venom is named Dan! Let’s have fun with that.” It’s also got ridiculously long chapters, but I don’t really mind so this is more a warning for anyone who frequently says, “Just one more chapter.” Honestly, you’re probably going to see a lot of GothMoth on the one-shot list. I love the memes.
Phantom City by inukagome15 👻 - Teen Titans crossover. I guess more light-hearted? Still dealing with Dan Trauma, but… someone helps. It’s great. :)
Family and Friends by lauraeb5 👻 - Ah, immortal Danny. Who makes friends with a much-loved winter spirit of fun! And angst happens later! >:3c
Recognized by AgentIanLegend 👻 - IDENTITY SHENANIGANS WITH ROBIN!! Seriously, I had to take breaks to be like, “okay who’s who? What happened? What’s happening?” And BAM (Bad Ass Mother) Maddie!!!!

Chapter 23 of LTDI was pure insanity!! Sometimes I can't believe I'm reading a re-telling of a story bc the story is so fresh and exhilarating. I also wanted to say that the way Hermione mangled Cormac's hand reminded me of Katara's bloodbending
It’s so funny I’ve gotten a lot of comments telling me that different aspects of the story reminds them of Avatar and it’s almost entirely accidental. I actually based a lot of the worldbuilding trying to come up with explanations for the gaps and inconsistencies between the Hogwarts education and the type of magic you see in moments like Dumbledore’s duel with Voldemort at the Ministry in the OOTP movie, or the fantastic beasts films where I’m just like, where did all this magic go?
But I love Avatar lots so I really don’t mind, it’s just really funny.

🔋What’s the state of energy technology in your WIP? Is solar old news, or still being fought for?
🚗What’s the state of transportation technology in your WIP? Are there hundreds of mass-market spaceships, or are cars still stuck on the ground?
Thank you!
I will answer these forrrrrr Out of the Park, why not
🔋What’s the state of energy technology in your WIP? Is solar old news, or still being fought for?
In no particular order, solar, wind, and nuclear energy are the most popular sources in this WIP! When it comes to the robots specifically, they run on Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators powered by Plutonium-238.
🚗What’s the state of transportation technology in your WIP? Are there hundreds of mass-market spaceships, or are cars still stuck on the ground?
Vehicles are still stuck on the ground (except planes and boats obviously), but there was a huge push for green public transportation in the decades prior to the WIP. Most major cities have buses, trams and/or trains, and bike lanes in addition to cars. All vehicles run on some kind of electric energy, whether it be from charging stations or solar panels.

thanks for the additions! honestly my crazy conspiracy theory about the house elves is that JKR decided to go the 'slavery is ok if you are a Good slave owner' route is when she came up with Regulus. Like even in GoF Hermione's activism might be laughable but house elf oppression is still treated somewhat seriously with Dobby demanding and receiving wages and Crouch's poor treatment of Winky being a plot point. Hermione might not be wrong, it's how she goes about it. But come OOTP she's completely wrong, the only problem with how Sirius treats Kreacher is that...he's mean to him, bc freeing him would also be bad. Dumbledore like acknowledges that Kreacher was Sirius's slave in the end of the book and then doesn't say by the way Harry you should FREE him!!! BC if Harry freed Kreacher...then Kreacher wouldn't be available for the revelation about Regulus lmao. And then in HBP and DH it goes all in on the good slave owner bad slave owner thing with how Regulus is redeemed by like..being a good slave owner...and Regulus was introduced in OOTP. JKR came up with an idea for a 'cool' character arc about how a Death Eater was redeemed for loving his house elf and threw away the idea that house elf slavery is a serious social problem bc then it would undercut Regulus's 'redemption'.
JKR generally prefers to write in terms of individual characters not societies, so it wouldn't shock me if she changed her worldbuilding to suit a character arc. I haven't gone and done a deep analysis though to prove my crazy regulus theory though so take this with massive grains of salt.
I think the whole extended Black family was probably developed between GoF and OOTP honestly, given Bellatrix isn't named when she appears in GoF and Sirius doesn't mention that they are related.
i've seen 'house elves are based on brownies and folk spirits so you can't read chattel slavery into it' as a defense of the house elf situation but like. CoS and GoF were published in the twentieth century and I am sorry but assuming that brownies and folk spirits are the salient comparison there is irresponsible because chattel slavery will inevitably loom larger. like she may not have intended for chattel slavery to be read into it but she should have thought it would be.
and like when our literal first introduction to house elves has Dobby calling himself a slave calling himself the dregs of the wizarding world...like. that is a slave. that is a comparison the text is making. it fails to do anything remotely responsible with the metaphor but it makes the metaphor and you cannot excuse the failure by saying well she was talking about something more obscure, because how do you read these books without slavery as we know it looming in your mind? it's about context! a modern reader comes to it with the context of chattel slavery!

Regarding the Canonicity of the Harry Potter Games
Like, I love Hogwarts Legacy. I played it through to completion 4 times (I played a few sections more than that). But even though I really liked the game, and many of its characters, and I enjoyed playing it, I can't help but not consider it truly canon in the same universe of the books. I consider it, like, an alternate timeline than the books; where some of the worldbuilding elements and characters are canon to the books, but otherwise the story and many aspects of it (such as some of the worldbuilding and characters in the game) are not canon for me since they outright contradict the books.
(I would love to talk about Hogwarts Mystery and why I don't take its story and various game elements as canon either, unfortunately, I got too frustrated with the energy mechanic and didn't even finish 3rd year in the game so I don't feel like I know it enough to make a comprehensive post).
The main reason is that there are things that outright contradict what's written in the books. Such as the placement of certain locations in the castle (the castle in HL is gorgeous though):
1. The potions classroom isn't located in the dungeons near the Slytherin common room.
2. The greenhouses are referenced as being outside the school and not connected to the castle the way they are in the game:
Harry, Ron, and Hermione left the castle together, crossed the vegetable patch, and made for the greenhouses, where the magical plants were kept.
(CoS, Ch6)
4. The Owlery is inside the school, in the West Tower, specifically, and not a walk-off from the school (that's also a movies issue):
Harry He then climbed out of the portrait hole, up through the silent castle (held up only briefly by Peeves, who tried to overturn a large vase on him halfway along the fourth-floor corridor), finally arriving at the Owlery, which was situated at the top of West Tower.
(GoF, Ch15)
5. Many classrooms and offices aren't located correctly. For example, the DADA and the Transfiguration office windows should face the Quidditch Pitch:
dreadful though his final detention with Umbridge was sure to be, he had a distant view of the Quidditch pitch from her window and might, with luck, be able to see something of Ron’s tryout
(OotP, Ch13)
“Hmm ...” Professor McGonagall stood up and stared out of the window at the Quidditch field, just visible through the rain.
(PoA, Ch9)
6. The above is also a problem with the location of the Quidditch pitch which should be near the lake:
Harry walked slowly along the deserted corridor, peering out of windows as he went. He could see people messing around in the air over the Quidditch pitch and a couple of students swimming in the lake, accompanied by the giant squid.
(OotP, Ch38)
7. The library in the game is on the ground floor (or below, since there are staircases going down to the library) and the restricted section is even lower in a basement level below the library. In the books, the library is on the 3rd and 4th floors, and the restricted section, specifically, is located on the 4th floor.
8. Again, this issue is also in the movies, but the doors to the Great Hall should be located to the right of the Entrance Hall. The Entrance Hall is described in quite detail in the books actually:
The entrance hall was so big you could have fit the whole of the Dursleys’ house in it. The stone walls were lit with flaming torches like the ones at Gringotts, the ceiling was too high to make out, and a magnificent marble staircase facing them led to the upper floors. They followed Professor McGonagall across the flagged stone floor. Harry could hear the drone of hundreds of voices from a doorway to the right — the rest of the school must already be here — but Professor McGonagall showed the first years into a small, empty chamber off the hall. They crowded in, standing rather closer together than they would usually have done, peering about nervously. [...] Feeling oddly as though his legs had turned to lead, Harry got into line behind a boy with sandy hair, with Ron behind him, and they walked out of the chamber, back across the hall [Enterence Hall], and through a pair of double doors into the Great Hall.
(PS, Ch7)
9. In general what's on each floor is incorrect. The one-eyed witch statue isn't on the third floor. The astronomy tower isn't the tallest tower (the headmaster's tower is taller). Myrtel's toilet should be near the DADA office on the second floor, not in the dungeons, etc.
10. You'd also notice in the game all the castle's windows are painted glass and you can't see outside through any of them. They are gorgeous, and it's definitely helpful for the sake of game performance, so I get why they did that, but in the books, it isn't so. Harry mentions looking out windows and seeing the grounds a lot.
(I would like to share the closest to canon map of Hogwarts I could make (which I made). It's an amalgamation of design elements from the movies, Hogwarts Legacy, and every quote I could find in the books regarding placements of various locations. Tumblr is just really bad with large high-resolution images 😭)
Then there are inaccurate world-building elements. (I'm not gonna count Basic-Cast and Levioso which are not real spells since they are clearly gameplay mechanics and aren't trying to be world-building accurate):
1. Horklumps are used in the Wiggenweld Potion in-game, even though Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them clearly states that Horklumps are useless as potion ingredients:
The Horklump is a favourite delicacy of gnomes but otherwise has no discernible use.
(Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them)
2. Matilda Weasley's existence makes no sense. By her red hair, Gareth Weasley's dialogue, and in-game letters, Matilda is stated to have been born a Weasley and didn't marry into the family. Hogwarts Legacy's art book confirms this. The reason this doesn't make sense is that Ginny Weasley is referred to as the first female born weasley in several generations.
Matilda is a professor who doesn't look very old in 1890, so she would've been born around 1,850s, let's say. Gareth is her brother's son, born in 1975-ish. In the game, a letter states Gareth has a sister, so that's zero generations with no female Weasleys. Septimus Weasley was born in the 1910s (his wife, Cederella, was born between 1915-1919). This makes him and his 6 older brothers, the next generation after Gareth, and the first generation no female Weasleys. Septimus is Arthur's father, making Arthur, his brothers, and his cousins the second generation without female Weasleys. And Arthur is Ginny's father. Two generations without female Weasleys wouldn't make Ginny the first female-born Weasley in several generations.
So, in the books' canon, Matilda and Gareth's younger sister, can't exist.
3. The entire Goblin Rebellion. Such a big, historical event would be remembered and referenced in the books the way other goblin rebellions and Grindelwald's war are mentioned. Not only that, but the ministry during the game has no reason to hide a goblin rebellion. It's a plot element in-game that makes no sense. It's not at all the same situation politically as in Harry's fifth year and the Ministry has no reason to cover it up (unless Rookwood is bribing someone, maybe?), so I don't get it at all.
Also, remember, Dumbledore starts Hogwarts in 1891, a year after the game. If this rebellion happened and the MC existed, Dumbledore would've likely known about it. A story like the MC's isn't just forgotten about over the course of less than the average wizard's lifetime. Not to mention the MC not being anywhere in canon or being referenced at all.
(what I'm saying is that the game should've chosen to take place further in the past and it would've solved a lot of continuity issues).
4. Ancient Magic. I know this is a game mechanic, but it's also a big part of the game's story — and it makes no sense with how we see magic in the HP books. When characters in the books refer to Ancient Magic, the kind of magic we see in the game is not what they are referring to. At all.
“ ‘Dragons are extremely difficult to slay, owing to the ancient magic that imbues their thick hides, which none but the most powerful spells can penetrate ...’ But Sirius said a simple one would do it. ...”
(GoF, Ch20)
Ancient Magic can refer to the natural magic of magical beings. The kind of magic that exists as part of nature and isn't wieldable. It's "ancient" since it's old and part of the natural world.
“But how to get at Harry Potter? For he has been better protected than I think even he knows, protected in ways devised by Dumbledore long ago, when it fell to him to arrange the boy’s future. Dumbledore invoked an ancient magic, to ensure the boy’s protection as long as he is in his relations’ care. Not even I can touch him there. ... Then, of course, there was the Quidditch World Cup. ...
(GoF, Ch33)
“But I knew too where Voldemort was weak. And so I made my decision. You would be protected by an ancient magic of which he knows, which he despises, and which he has always, therefore, underestimated — to his cost. I am speaking, of course, of the fact that your mother died to save you. She gave you a lingering protection he never expected, a protection that flows in your veins to this day. I put my trust, therefore, in your mother’s blood. I delivered you to her sister, her only remaining relative.”
(OotP, Ch37)
It can also refer to magic any powerful enough witch or wizard could do that was mostly forgotten. Both Voldemort and Dumbledore refer to the blood wards Dumbledore set up after Lily's sacrifice as "Ancient Magic" and I'm certain Dumbledore doesn't have the same abilities the MC in HL has — because no one does. These abilities don't exist in the books.
The ward is referred to as ancient magic becouse that's what it is — a mostly forgotten spell from very long ago — not a different kind of magic. Just old.
“Secondly, the castle is a stronghold of ancient magic. Undoubtedly Voldemort had penetrated many more of its secrets than most of the students who pass through the place, but he may have felt that there were still mysteries to unravel, stores of magic to tap.
(HBP, Ch20)
This again, uses the term "ancient magic" to refer to old forgotten magic (such as the Room of Requirement or the moving stairs at Hogwarts). Hogwarts is referred to as a stronghold of ancient magic not because the founders were like the MC in HL, but because they were very powerful wizards using magic that has been mostly forgotten since then. Any magic using runes (like a pensive) would be considered "ancient magic" in the book's universe because it's old. That's literally all ancient magic in the books means. Either "old and mysterious magic" or "natural magic of the world". It is not something a select few wizards can see and wield or a different type of magic.
5. The little hamlets around Hogwarts. I get why they are there (so the game could promote itself as an open-world) but they don't make sense. In canon, we are repeatedly told there aren't many wizard-only settlements and Hogsmead is one of the only ones. These little wizard hamlets make zero sense. Like, the very small ones which are basically two farms are fine, I can see wizard family farms like these existing. What I can't see is a larger hamlet, like Upper Hogsfeild existing so close to Hogsmead. It would not exist.
Before the Statute of Secrecy, most wizards lived in muggle towns, and after it, they still mostly stayed in muggle towns and the few wizard-only ones. The amount of wizard-only hamlets around Hogwarts in the game is honestly ridiculous for the books' world-building.
Again, I love the game, I'm writing this because I decided to boot HL up again to run around Hogwarts, but the game is not really canon. So, for the sake of analysis, I often discount the various games for this reason. They contradict book canon, and book canon comes first. Anyone can obviously do whatever they want, I'm just explaining why I occasionally discard game evidence, which is when it contradicts the books.
(There are world-building elements in the HL I do like, though. Such as the Hufflepuff Dark wizard who married a disowned Black daughter, I consider them canon since they're fun and don't contradict canon either, so they're fine).

How do you come up with fairy names in OotP and the Riddleverse?
Hello, thank you for the ask. I apologize for the delay; I took a Tumblr and FOP hiatus for a while.
A lot of fairy names (like Ambrosine, Solara, Idona, and Sindri) came from whimsical name lists. Some names like Florensa I created myself to fit the same vibe that Juandissimo's name has. Over the years I divided naming themes into different cloudland regions.
Cloudlands at a Glance has sample names by region
I don't put a ton of thought into the names and typically pick whatever sounds right within the first 3 minutes of thought. Here are the thoughts behind some Origin of the Pixies and related 'fic names for anyone interested:
Fergus - Named after a stuffed triceratops owned by a sibling, I thought it was cute and it had the Scottish vibes I was aiming for in the very early stages of my worldbuilding. His middle name is Alexander
Whimsifinado - H.P.'s last name, a combination of the words whimsical and aficionado
Julius and Venus - These names for Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda are the canon middle names of their fairy counterparts
Nebula - Poof's and Foop's middle name is space-themed like Cosmo and Venus and is also a nod to Crash Nebula
Ennet - Sanderson's first name, I just made it up because I liked the vibe of Emmet but the 'M' sound didn't feel very Pixie to me. I swapped them for 'N's and I love it
Longwood - Named after a teacher I had with 'wood' at the end of their surname; I just loved the way it sounded. I also love this name for Sanderson's rival pixie because it implies he's taller (which he is) and I feel like it would tick Sanderson off a lot
Hiccup - Foop's alt personality, obviously named after the fact that he hiccups a lot when he cackles. I've seen a lot of fantastic names for him in fandom [and cool portrayals], but I'm quite happy with the one I picked
Kalysta - Named after an old friend [spelled Calista]. There's no reason why this name was picked for this character specifically, apart from the fact that I always liked the name and wanted to use it. The OG spelling is really pretty, but I felt weird using a friend's name for an antagonist so I changed the spelling
Anti-Marigold - I felt this would be easier to read in story when she appeared opposite Goldie [compared to the name Anti-Goldie] and it also makes a nice parallel for Poof and Foop, as Foop also has a unique name. I don't think the name Kelsia came from anywhere specific, it just fit her
Dusty - This was Poof's concept name [iirc from the same period when Poof was going to be released in Season 2], so it's what I named the next Cosmo x Wanda child. I adore the name Dusty and I'm kind of sad that name didn't make it to the finals, but it's cute. Fairies turn to dust when they die, Anti-Fairies turn to smoke, so his counterpart is named Smoky
King Northiae / Prince Eastkal / Queen Shoulath - They're all named after cardinal directions
Anti-Bryndin - I genuinely have no idea where his name came from, I think it was the first thing to pop into my head when I was trying to name him and I knew immediately that it fit him. I wanted to have a name that sounded mysterious and unusual and ended up with this
Emery - This name first appeared in Reedfilter Rules as the name of H.P.'s daughter; this was picked because she was a pixie kid and it fit the masculine vibes I was going for. I later reused the name for H.P.'s sister in the Origin of the Pixies universe
Those are the main names that come to mind. What it really comes down to though is "Looking up whimsical names" and "Random."

for the writing ask: 2, 7, 19! ✨
2. Anything that you’d like to write but feel like you’re unable to?
Hmm... less 'unable' to, and more like 'lack the time and mental energy to do it properly.' I suppose one pipe dream would be revisiting canon events from Percy Weasley's POV -- especially around the time period of PoA to OotP -- or even starting further back from when he first started at Hogwarts. Another idea I've had kicking around in my head for a while is an X-Files inspired Romione but sort of reversed, where Ron is assigned to report on Hermione's special project within the Ministry trying to mesh magic with scientific principles. I am currently unable to delve into the magical, political, and bureaucratic worldbuilding necessary for that to be at all interesting.
7. Your favourite ao3 tag.
This is an interesting question. Do I have a favorite tag? And does that mean my favorite to use, or read? XD
I do love a good Protective Percy Weasley or Protective Ron Weasley or BAMF Ron Weasley.
19. Share a snippet from a wip without giving any context for it.
“Yes, but your own excellent father died when you were young. You have many more years of life in you, my friend.”
“I may die at any moment,” James pointed out. “I could… contract a terrible fever or… overturn a carriage — ”
Sirius scoffed. “If you’re going to be irrational at least be reasonable about it. You’ve never overturned a carriage in your life.” He paused a second before adding, “Though it’s certainly not for lack of trying.”
Thank you for the ask! :D
