5 Essential Tips for Maintaining Top-Notch Salesforce Org Health
Introduction: Salesforce has become an indispensable tool for businesses to manage customer relationships, streamline operations, and drive growth. However, just like any other complex system, your Salesforce organization requires regular attention and care to ensure it remains efficient, effective, and aligned with your business objectives.
In this blog, we'll explore five essential suggestions to maintain a top-notch Salesforce Org health, helping you get the most out of your investment.
Best Tips for Managing  Salesforce Org Health
Regular Data Cleanup and Maintenance: A cluttered and disorganized Salesforce Org can lead to decreased user productivity, slower system performance, and inaccurate reporting. Regularly conduct data cleanup exercises to eliminate duplicate records, outdated information, and irrelevant data. Implement validation rules, workflows, and data governance processes to ensure that data entered into the system is accurate and consistent. Consider archiving or purging old records that are no longer needed, which can significantly improve system responsiveness.
Optimize User Training and Adoption: Even the most powerful tools are only as effective as the users who operate them. Invest in comprehensive user training programs to ensure that your team fully understands the features and functionalities of Salesforce. Regularly assess user adoption rates and address any issues or challenges they might face. Encourage the use of best practices and provide ongoing training as Salesforce releases updates and new features
Govern Customization and Configuration: Salesforce offers an array of customization options to tailor the platform to your specific business needs. While customization is valuable, an excessive amount can lead to complexity, slow performance, and difficulties during upgrades. Establish a clear governance framework for customization and configuration. This includes guidelines for when to use declarative tools (like Process Builder) versus custom code, as well as regular reviews of custom objects, fields, and processes to ensure they remain relevant and effective
Implement Robust Security Practices: Data security and privacy are paramount in today's business landscape. Regularly review and update your Salesforce security settings to ensure that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive information. Implement strong password policies, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and role-based access controls to minimize the risk of data breaches. Regularly audit user permissions and deactivate accounts for employees who no longer require access to the system
Stay Informed About Salesforce Updates: Salesforce continuously releases updates, enhancements, and new features to improve the platform's functionality and security. It's crucial to stay informed about these updates and assess their potential impact on your organization. Create a process for reviewing and testing new releases in a sandbox environment before rolling them out to your production Org. This practice helps identify any potential compatibility issues with your existing customizations and allows for adjustments before affecting users.
Conclusion:
Maintaining a top-notch Salesforce Org health requires a proactive approach that involves regular cleanup, user engagement, customization governance, security measures, and staying updated on platform developments. By following these five essential tips, your organization can ensure that Salesforce remains a powerful tool that contributes to your business success, helping you drive growth, streamline processes, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

bolded = favorites, ships i will almost always be down to write! italicized = ships i am currently writing with at least. starred * = ships that are heavily dependent on the portrayal and/or will require significant plotting. (i am unlikely to write these with brand-new partners, but you can always ask!) crossed out = ship exclusives and/or ships where i am not actively seeking duplicates. (you can still ask about these, but the answer may be no.)
as a preface, just because a ship is not on this list does not necessarily mean i won't ship it! if there is a ship you're interested in that isn't on here, feel free to reach out to me and we can talk about it.
please note that student muses can only be shipped with byleth after the time skip.
**currently, this list only includes fe3h muses. other muses will be added at a later date.**

"All our needs are met by this land, not by Enbridge.” That’s what Wenipashtaabe (Sandy Gokee), an Anishinaabe water protector, told the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) at a June 4 public hearing in Ashland, Wisconsin about a proposal to reroute Enbridge’s Line 5 oil pipeline. Line 5 currently trespasses through the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa’s reservation in northern Wisconsin, and a federal judge last year ordered Enbridge to remove that segment of pipeline off the tribe’s land by June 2026. Enbridge’s plan is to reroute the pipeline, but the company needs approval from the USACE first.
Tumblr media
[...]At the meeting, Tribal leaders and environmental advocates from across the region voiced concern about the proposed reroute. That’s because Line 5 poses an environmental risk within Tribal boundaries—and the reroute wouldn’t change this, because it would still be located within the larger Bad River watershed. In other words, an oil spill in that area would still drain into the Bad River, endangering wetlands and groundwater along the river’s course to Lake Superior. “We said off the watershed. You said off the reservation,” Gokee told the USACE at the public hearing. The more than 70-year-old pipeline is 20 years past its expiration date. In some places, including the point where the pipeline intersects with a “meander” in the Bad River, it is in imminent danger of rupture.
Folks aren’t counting on Enbridge to fix this, because the Canadian energy company has a terrible track record. A rupture in another major Enbridge pipeline, 6B, caused the 2010 Kalamazoo River spill, which dumped nearly a million gallons of crude oil into the water over the course of 18 hours before Michigan authorities (not Enbridge) reported the spill. It’s one of the largest inland oil spills in US history. Construction along Enbridge’s Line 3 has caused ongoing harm in Minnesota, where Enbridge contractors released toxic fracking fluids while drilling under waterways, and destroyed wetlands.
The proposed new segment of Line 5 would cross and endanger nearly 200 bodies of water and over 100 acres of wetland as it passes through Ashland and Iron Counties. The $450 million reroute would require temporarily and permanently discharging fill material into wetlands, horizontal drilling under the White River (which flows into the Bad River), and would cause the loss or alteration of wetlands in the 30- to 50-foot wide maintenance corridor surrounding the pipeline, USACE states in an analysis of the plan.
“I can drink the water here now. Let’s keep it that way,” added Gokee at the public hearing.
youtube
You can donate directly to the tribe to help them on Defend the Bad River dot org and you can read more about their treaties and their history on the Bad River Band website. Absolutely utilize the tools available to you to educate yourself about this further, please and spread the word!

Bonus materials;
The oil pipeline laying in the Straits of Mackinac — is 21 years past it’s intended lifespan. A Line 5 rupture would impact 700 miles of Great Lakes shoreline, take years to clean up, and would devastate our Great Lakes economy — putting 214,000 Michigan tourism jobs at risk. The Great Lakes are 20% of the world’s freshwater — we can’t afford to contaminate them with oil.
Their PDF handout about the case:

I want to highlight their demands for people who just saw that wall of text and skipped it cuz this is important:
Tumblr media
youtube
This is a decently nuanced 14 minute interview about how turning on Line 3 affected native communities; how most are still just taking actions to survive through ongoing oppression and colonization, how activism isnt a luxury a lot of people can afford with mouths to feed and systemic oppression keeping them in cycles of poverty.
Stand with the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa
It shouldn't be on them to fight Enbridge on their own and nobody should be forced to choose between their people or their planet. Uplift their voices and make their demands known and make it known that they're supported and they're not alone.

I know my friends often think I’m paranoid for omitting pretty much every smart device outside of your standard phone and laptop from my life but honestly after playing Megaman Battle Network as a child, I know it’s only going to take a few very inspired people tired of corporate BS and experiencing a mental break to create a real world variation of World III.
Like. We’ve already heard of stories of people whose chastity cages got electronically hacked and force locked, and while that’s certainly creative, MMBN absolutely had way more simpler, and entirely possible crimes to commit.
Our fridges are online? Who controls that temperature. Maybe entire grocery stores will find their food either freezer burnt or spoiling.
Our thermostats? Well, it’d be a shame if somebody globally altered the temperature floor of the device to be boiling point.
Our cars are smart now? The literal first game had a chapter that merely took over traffic lights, it would only be easier to make the cars simply lock their users in and drive into each other.
Most data centers I’ve been to, even in multimillion dollar orgs, have dozens and dozens of servers protecting websites and the backup management processes are all handled by a single laptop that has a sticky note that says “do not close laptop” in a room that is virtually untouched for weeks at a time, except to check the temperatures of the cooling systems in the same room. As security, I can say I would have no idea if someone who came in for server maintenance was doing something suspicious or not, and even third party maintenance staff are often left to their own devices to work on perceived problems. Sure, they’re on camera, but so what if the next three people who work in the room are all going to be more third party maintenance staff?
Knowing that full well, I’m never going to buy a smart bidet for fear that it will end up with its water pressure settings altered, turning it into a power washer that ass blasts me to death.

Oh goddddd. Something I reblogged earlier today has given me the best/worst x men brainrot
X-Men maid cafe.
It starts out simple enough with a need for money to help cover maintenance costs at the school. Shit gets blown up/destroyed all the time there. Tis expensive AF.
The queer community is the most mutant friendly out there and many of the X-Men are some flavor of not straight so Charles puts it up to Scott and the others to come up with a way to do a 50/50 split donation drive of sorts in combination with the local LGBT rights org for the school and the org at a local pride festival.
People are brainstorming shit and aren't coming up with anything and then morph jokes "lol what if we did that shit they do in all the super power school animes where they have a maid cafe"
The girls all roll their eyes. Most of the guys look unamused. Jean Grey telepathically flicks a paperclip at them. Then Gambit speaks up, suddenly very enthusiastic about the idea and tries to encourage the others to do the idea.
Storm immediately shuts him down. Jean grey tries to challenge him "sure we can do that...except in the spirit of pride it should be a drag cafe. Women as butlers, men as maids" hoping it would scare him off.
Gambit just looks more enthused. "PERFECT! GAMBIT LOVES DAT IDEA!"
The room is silent. Storm, jean, and rogue share surprised looks before shrugging their shoulders and voting yes. Kurt, Bobby, and morph are up for it too. With majority vote they go through with it.
Gambit and jean fight over the menu. Gambit wanting a full restaurant style menu going and Jean furiously reminding him that this is only going to be up for like a week and none of his choices are cafe food.
They some how manage to get Logan into the outfit and he looks like an angry cat some child played dress up with.
Jubilee working the kitchen and sending the items out with the gayest most sparkling presentation.
Bobby was declared the milkshake king by a group of LGBT gen Zers.
They have donation jars marked with each server's name labeled "tell us which server is your favorite" Hank and Kurt are tied for first place.
Hank is so confused people keep telling him he's amazing and wonderful and keeping asking him for hugs even if they are not attracted to him at all.
Local poetry lesbians have adopted him as their group guy friend.
Kurt: "vy do že keep calling me 'twink'? Pretty sure it's a compliment but I vish I knew vat it meant."
The bi community stanning rogue and gambit. The same group of 10 or so bi peeps coming in and stuffing their jars with ones.
They ended up coming up with x men themed treats. There's cupcakes with little red candy sunglasses on them for cyclops, and a midnight blue flan style pudding with strawberries for nightcrawler. And of course Remy beignet.
Charles is oblivious to this until they open up shop. Goes in to check out how stuff is going, sees just students in non X-Men costumes and just....processes for a few minutes before saying "good work. Have fun" and wheeling himself out the door.
Idk this is probably dumb but I love it ok let them do stupid stuff

can i ask you why i should assume squidgeworld or whoever's running squidgeworld is any better than ao3? because i can't really find any info on who's running squidgeworld, so it seems to me it's just a case of lack of info allowing you (or anyone) to assume no one affiliated with that site is problematic in anyway.
as many issues as i have with ao3 there is a level of transparency there that i don't see at squidgeworld. can you direct me to info on who runs it / how it's run? who's doing site maintenance, who's monitoring the site, who's making decisions on if a fic gets pulled or a user banned, etc?
and if you don't think that once it gets big enough it's going to be dealing with some of the same issues ao3 is dealing with, you're fooling yourself
i'm going to assume you're genuinely asking and not just a troll, but genuinely speaking, the fact that squidge.org has an explicit anti-racism policy is more than the OTW has.
We do also know exactly who is running the site: a nonprofit called Squidge.org—"Squidge.org INC is a US 501c3 non-profit organization"—founded by Walter Hopgood (aka Squidgie). You can even volunteer for them.
There really isn't a guarantee that they won't ever have the same problems that AO3 has. But as of right now? We know they're doing leagues better. They aren't running off a toxic work environment that has had issues with racism for years, as far as we can tell, and seem to actually be making actual change to their websites to benefit users (see: recent QPR relationship update).
Hell, one day there might be volunteers for Squidge coming out about their experiences in that org, and I'm not denying that. But considering the benefits of decentralizing our fanfiction posting, moving away from the AO3 and its thoroughly documented racism, zionism, suspicious money handling, and glacial movement as an org—I'm happy to make the switch for the time being.

I’m not very physical, but I was wondering if you had any advice for ways I could still volunteer or help with conservation and wildlife charities?
Honestly, there’s a wide, wide variety of skill sets that are helpful. A lot of the time, when people volunteer with places like that, they want to do the fun stuff or seeing/handling cool animals, and meanwhile there’s nearly always a stack of more realistic things that needs doing!
Depending on your mobility, there’s always things like basic maintenance, food preparation, etc etc, but on top of that, some general ideas:
• Website design. A lot of smaller charities and trusts have little spare cash, and often shittier/outdated website designs which doesn’t help them reach the public, so if you have skills and experience there, that’s a biggie
• Data management. Again, I’ve found lots of conservation based orgs are actively collecting data about animals and plants they work with, but don’t have the time to organise it or do anything significant with it
• Writing in general. A lot of places have volunteer instruction sheets, data sheets, other pieces that need updating or things they want to add, and again, no time to keep producing those pieces
• Social media. Especially because a lot of smaller places have older people volunteering or with the spare time to run them, a lot struggle with social media and how to navigate it well, which also effects outreach
• Photographers/Artists. Again, being able to take good quality images of the work they’re doing, or being able to illustrate little things for fact sheets and guides can be massive for outreach, but a struggle for a lot of groups to find and finance on top of everything else
• Enrichment. Lots of places want to give their animals more enrichment, but don’t have the time to be specifically making it for individual animals/species (definitely talk in depth about this though about materials/foods/designs are appropriate - a lot of the time, it’s important that an animal can be left alone with an enrichment item and not find a way to injure themselves)
I’ll add anymore I think of! But basically, get creative with it, reach out and pitch your skill set + ideas, and you’d be surprised ❤️

Hey, this is for my west-of-the-mountains PNW folks!
As they have for the last several years The Carbon Capture Foundation (TCCF) is offering free bare root native tree seedlings this fall for folks wanting to increase tree cover on their property. Primarily four species will be provided: Douglas fir, western red cedar, black cottonwood, and red alder. However if other species are needed, that may be possible by special arrangement. Generally the limit per household is 240 seedlings per year, but this limit may be exceeded by arrangement with TCCF. Pickup will be in southwest Washington near Longview.
Tree recipients are responsible for making arrangements to plant their seedlings and maintaining them. WSU and OSU Extension Foresters are available to help with questions online, by phone and sometimes in person. Also materials on seedling planting, care and maintenance will be provided by TCCF when you pick up the seedlings.
The only limitations for receiving the free seedlings is that they cannot be used for commercial purposes, for replanting areas you have had logged, or for planting areas that you have to plant to keep your ground as forest land for tax purposes. For planting purposes these trees should generally be planted about 12 feet apart. And cedars are best planted in areas that tend to be wet or close to wet areas. With our current drought conditions cedars are struggling to survive in dry areas that they formerly did well in.
Interested? Contact TCCF president Norm Dick at (360) 751-3142, or norm(at)thecarboncapturefoundation(dot)org

Looking through the notes on the ao3 post got me kinda confused. What does ao3 spend there legal budget on? Do you know? (This isn’t supposed to be a gotcha about ao3 I like an support ao3 I’m just to tired to try and comb through their budget and figure it out) also somebody in the notes posted that if you want to actually fight against copy right to donate to archive.org not ao3 and I agree that ppl should donate archive.org epicially right now. If someone had to choose between ao3 and the archive I would say the archive is much more important…. But that isn’t what your response was about. Ur response (I think) was against the argument that u shouldn’t donate to ao3 because they aren’t actually fighting for anything/their lawyer budget is useless. That’s not true. They are fighting for stuff and from what I can tell their budget isn’t useless. Also also archive.org and ao3 have 2 very different goals and aren’t fighting for the same thing. Ao3 is specifically about transformative works and archive.org is not. I’m sure it will end up being 2 different legal battles.
The legal budget is for expenses related to legal work: Filing fees, printing, sometimes travel costs (they have sent the legal team to the Library of Congress to argue for our right to remove DRM from DVDs in order to make fanvids) (and they won), and so on. It's a very small amount.
There are no lawyer fees. All the work is donated, and it's covered in a different spot on the budget. (Lawyers have to track records of how much pro bono work they do, and report it.) If I understand it, they got about $185,000 worth of free lawyer work last year - not their whole operating budget, but that'd be a huge cost if they had to cover it instead of server maintenance!
What they actually do:
They file amicus statements in copyright cases. A lot of them.
They argue for DRM exemptions, every three years, because those have to be renewed. (After the first two times, the media companies seem to have basically given up. But we still have to re-file & argue for it every three years.)
They research cases, both in the US and around the world, that are related to fair use/fair dealing and similar copyright situations.
They provide advice to fans who are caught in copyright cases over fanworks. They stand ready to let the OTW be sued instead of individual fans, if a copyright owner files a DMCA takedown of fanfic at AO3.
They are fighting "fandom.com's" attempt to trademark the word "fandom."
They file comments with various governments about legal issues related to copyright or fanworks or both.
(Various other stuff; see links below; I am not part of the Legal Advocacy team and don't know any details beyond what they publish.)
Archive.org has a lot more money than AO3 does. It's been around longer, and it has sponsors with deep pockets - academic orgs and so on. But yeah, they're facing a tough lawsuit right now, and they need money.
If you can only donate to one this year, I'd recommend archive.org. The OTW has enough to operate and it's not facing big threats at the moment.
HOWEVER: In 2019, Archive.org had an operating budget of $36 Million. Your $10 or even $150 is not what makes the difference to them. (Not telling anyone not to donate. But don't do it if it's a hardship.) Wikimedia Foundation - the Wikipedia people - have annual operating expense of over $100 million.
The OTW's annual budget is a bit over $500,000 per year right now. The OTW operates on pennies and broken shoelaces compared to other nonprofit archives. $10 fan donations are meaningful to the OTW in a way they are not to archive.org or wikipedia.
Part of how they can do that, is that the OTW does not pay legal fees. Effectively none of the donations go toward the "Legal Advocacy" team - just a tiny amount ($2,500 to $5000) that covers ancillary expenses.
Most nonprofits don't have a team of free lawyers on tap, because most were not founded by a pack of academics and lawyers who were desperately trying to protect their community from puritans and capitalists.

EDs are one of the mental illnesses I know the least about and have had the least training on (to where I am absolutely not qualified to treat someone with an ED, though knowing how orgs work and how little they care they will be trying to put them on my caseload anyway) but my mentality is if you have anorexia why not eat mostly protein then since it doesn't really convert to fat even if you eat way above maintenance? Is it a lack of knowledge? Or ethics? Most anorexics I know are vegan nonbinary men who are very vague about the reason for their ED, though weight loss does tend to factor into it they downplay it's role.

Idk like. It feels very fucking callous to look at people who have been screwed over by the previous administration and see their lack of enthusiasm and blame that for your politicians' failures?
Like even just on trans stuff. Y'all are saying Trump Would Be Worse or whatever, but the Biden administration could've done so much to block state-level attempts at banning hormones & puberty blockers, and they fucking didn't - legal advocacy orgs had to bring court cases about it one-by-one instead, and in the meantime trans people have to turn to diy (not as much of an option for the kids everyone is fighting over!) or find a doctor willing to ger sued by the state AG, or move states, or lose their HRT altogether.
In this situation, saying the other guy would be worse is has the same emotional tone of telling a drowning person they'd be drowning harder if the water was deeper. We're asking fucking anyone to throw us a floatation device, and you're over there politely asking the pool maintenance guy to not fill the deep end to 10' when we're drowning in 7'. I'm sure it feels similar for black folks, immigrants, palestinians, people who might get pregnant in red states, etc.
And then y'all have the fucking nerve to call it a psyop or russian bot activity or whatever else when we go "that is not going to keep us from drowning." You're out here saying that saving people from drowning is unrealistic just because you, personally, don't care enough to get lifeguard training.
