It's that time of year when many people make resolutions and goals. My goal is to get more organized. I'm tired of having my tasks, notes, and projects scattered across multiple systems. I'm looking at a combination of GTD, PARA, and Roam research methods. I'm going to do it in the app I spend more time in than any other: emacs.

One thing about canto VI is like. I see so many people predicting it'll be about Fighting Evil Wife or Breaking Codependent Toxic Relationship and I just kinda think that would suck? If the major theme isn't grief AND love and the way both are seen as like Kinda Weird/inappropriate in the setting of the city. Then I'll be very sad.

Hyperbole, the ...thing... for Emacs

EmacsWiki

It's an "information management system" but that doesn't mean anything.

Think of it as the most overpowered link handler possible:

clicking on a url visits it in the browser, even if the url wasn't explicitly a link

Clicking on a file name opens it on the side, and you can add line and column numbers ~/file:line:col

Fairly simple syntax for written-out keyboard shortcuts

Add link types of your own design

This works in all buffers. Basically it makes all text into some kind of implicit hypertext.

Also it has a contact manager and hierarchical note taking system. Don't worry about those tho, org-mode is a bit better and hyperbole integrates with that as well.

By the way, if any locals recognize where i volunteer at and want to stop by and say 'hi' on a public day - please feel free! Per the guide book, volunteers are not allowed to officially announce our affiliation - i think this is for legal stuff - hence why i obfuscate my words a bit. Im super awkward in person and im terrible remembering faces/names, but if you address me as 'boots' i'll know to let down my guard a bit :)
