Hey everyone it seems there a malicious individual trying to hack the sims cc community again and fill it with malware you need to stay vigilant as a creator and a downloader so
i have some tips for both to stay safe while downloading:
1- sims cc file extension is always .Package never download anything that is .exe
2- do not auto unpack zip files and rar files into your mods folder directly, open each zip or rar individually check the file extensions and drag them to your mods folder one by one
3- the only mods that have a .ts4script extension are ones that affect gameplay or how the game works, understand that if you are downloading cas or bb items you shouldn't have a .ts4script file
4- if you are downloading gameplay mods that do have .ts4script make sure that A) the creator hasn't announced on their pages that its infected B) you are downloading from a link provided by the creator of the mods themselves not something off of google or a link you got sent and make sure dates of upload match dated of announcements
5- if the mod or cc creator has retired and hasn't posted for a while LOOK AT THE DATES OF THE UPLOAD if it has been "updated recently" after the creator has left the community its most likely re-uploaded by a hacker and infected
6- download mod gaurd by Twisted mexi and keep it updated and keep your windows defender or malware detector Program up to date and always running do not disable it
7- make sure everything you download comes from a direct link from the cc creator, in this day and age do not trust link shortners, adfly, linkverse, etc get the universal bypass extension and ublock extension to stay safe but genuinely NEVER CLICK ON THOSE no matter how much the creator reassures you its safe it. is. NOT.
8- this is more of a general saftey precaution but, create a system restore point weekly before you run the game with new mods that way if anything happens you could have a chance to restore your windows to an earlier date before you downloaded anything.
9- BACK UP YOUR SHIT im serious right now either weekly or monthly put your files somewhere safe like a usb a storage card a hard drive even an online cloud if you dont have any of the previous.
10- files you should back up are your media from games and media everything else, any mods, games saves, work files, passwords, saved bookmarks, any documents txt files word files pdfs, links you saved, brushes or actions for Photoshop if you have any, any digital bills or certificates if you have any, and keep a physical list of all programs you have installed and where you installed them from
11- turn on any 2 factor authentication and security measures for any account you have
12- google and firefox have the option to check your paswords and emails against any data leaks USE THIS FEATURE and change any leaked passwords
13- regularly check your logged in sessions to make sure all the logged in devices or computers are yours and log out any that aren't and any old devices or unused sessions do this for every website and app you have an account on if available
14- change your passwords often. I know this is a hassle i know its hard to come up with new passwords but changing your passwords every few months will help you against anything mention previously that wasn't detected.
15- and as a cc creator check your cc and the accounts you host cc on and its uplaod and update dates make sure nothing has been changed without your permission :(
16- generally try not to get swept up in the "i must get it" fever you do not need to "shop" for mods weekly or monthly you do not need to download everything by that one creator you do not need to download new cc everytime you want to make a sim, im guilty of this so i know how hard it is to resist but take a breath and think "do i want this or do i need it" before downloading.
These are prevention methods i cant claim they are 100% will prevent any hacking but its better to be safe than sorry and these do keep you safe so
Brought to you by someone who has had their laptop ruined and data leaked from downloading cc once upon a time

Bone Saddle from Bohemia, c.1400-1420 CE: this Medieval saddle is decorated with bone plaques that depict scenes of romance and courtship, with references to sex, pleasure, and chivalry
Tumblr media
This saddle was crafted from staghorn, bone, birch bark, rawhide, metal, and limewood. Bone pins and glue were used to fix each plaque to the limewood core of the saddle, and the panels were originally adorned with brightly-colored paints.
Tumblr media
The bone plaques are decorated with intricately carved scenes of romance; some of these scenes show women being serenaded by suitors and troubadours, lovers caressing one another, couples exchanging tokens of their affection, and men offering luxury containers in exchange for their lovers' hearts. Squeezed beneath the left flank of the saddle is a scene that depicts two lovers holding hands and gazing at one another, while another scene on the right flank shows a man and woman standing cheek-to-cheek as the woman wraps her arms around the man's back and pulls him to her breast.
Knights, dragons, and monstrous figures are also depicted on several panels.
Tumblr media
As the Metropolitan Museum of Art describes:
Romantic and erotic imagery adorned not only the pages of late medieval manuscripts and the vessels of a lady’s private dressing table; these themes were equally suited to the public self-fashioning of European nobles.
Illicit touch and unmediated sight are just two of the carnal senses evoked by this saddle. Tucked between larger figures, troubadours and instrument-bearing grotesques evoke the auditory pleasures of the court, while floral and arboreal motifs conjure the alluring sights, smells, and tastes of a pleasure garden.
On the right tip of the saddle’s pommel, a man pokes his hand into a conical hat as a cheeky reference to the amorous intentions of the embracing couple below. ... Even the shape of the saddle is suggestive. The accentuated curvature of the pommel and the double-lobed cantle (a common feature of Eastern European saddles) emphasize the saddle’s phallic form.
Tumblr media
For those viewers bold enough to inspect the saddle’s hidden surfaces, grotesques under the pommel and at the center back of the cantle offer comic relief while also warning against the bestial side of desire.
The morals of late medieval Christianity are primarily embodied on this saddle by Saint George, shown as a knight spearing a dragon on the right side of the pommel. According to hagiographic precedent, the dragon’s defeat secured the safety of a captive maiden, an ideal of feminine purity threatened by the corruption of evil.
Tumblr media
Saint George and the dragon and scenes of courtly love dominate the roughly twenty bone saddles that survive from late medieval Europe.
Attached to a limewood core with bone pins and glue, the carved panels probably derive from the pelvic bones of cows or other large animals. The underside of the saddle is lined with hide and birch bark. Although these fragile materials are ill suited for the battlefield or daily use, bone’s off-white color and receptiveness to carving served as the ideal ground for eye-catching carvings and paintings.
Viewers today should remember that the saddle was originally brightly colored with blue, green, and red paint. The saddle was also just one part of a larger ensemble of a horse’s parade armor.
This particular saddle is associated with the court of Wenceslaus IV.

Y/N's eyes frantically traversed the black lettering on the PDF, an attachment to the email from her physician, with Harry leaning in closely over her shoulder. The words seemed to blur together, the medical jargon forming a language she struggled to decipher. Scroll by scroll, she ventured through the results until her eyes widened, and the weight of the revelation made her hands tremble, prompting her to clutch the phone against her chest.
"What?" Harry questioned, his concern evident as she blocked her phone. "What is it, love?" he pressed, observing the emotions playing out in her glistening eyes. Without hesitation, he gently took the phone from her grasp, his eyes scanning the results.
"We're having a girl," he whispered, his voice a mix of disbelief and wonder as he absorbed the implications of the genetic testing. The nerves he felt weren't just the typical anxiety of impending parenthood; they were layered with the complexities of his own tumultuous relationship with his father. Having Oliver had been a daunting experience, but the prospect of raising a daughter felt like uncharted territory, stirring a blend of excitement and trepidation within him.
Anger wasn't Harry's immediate response; instead, he sat in profound silence, contemplating the profound shift this news brought. Y/N, sensing his internal turbulence, gently broached the unspoken question.
"Are you angry?" she asked, her voice a delicate thread weaving through the room. The uncharted territory of raising a daughter seemed to hover in the air, and Harry, grappling with the weight of it all, finally found his voice.
A wave of joy began to replace the initial shock on Harry's face. Excitement sparkled in his eyes, and a radiant smile emerged, illuminating his features. "A girl," he repeated, this time with a newfound enthusiasm. "A little princess, huh?" The weight of the unknown seemed to lift as he looked at Y/N.
Y/N's concern softened into a smile as she saw Harry's genuine happiness. "You're not upset?" she asked, searching his eyes for confirmation.
Harry placing a tender kiss on her forehead taking her by surprise. "No, not at all. I'm over the moon, lovie. Just needed a moment to let it sink in."
As the gravity of the news settled, they found themselves wrapped in each other's arms, a shared warmth and anticipation replacing any lingering uncertainty. The soft glow of the bedside lamp cast a comforting ambiance as they settled on the bed, Harry's arms securely around Y/N.
"What do you think she'll be like?" Y/N mused, her fingers absentmindedly tracing patterns on Harry's chest.
"Knowing she's ours, she's going to be brilliant," Harry said, a dreamy quality in his voice. "Smart, kind, and probably a bit stubborn, taking after her mum."
Y/N chuckled, playfully nudging him. "You think so?"
"I know so," he affirmed, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head.
In the cocoon of their shared excitement, they decided to embrace the moment. Harry grabbed the remote, pulling up a list of movies they had been meaning to watch. They settled on a comforting classic, wrapped up in blankets, as the glow of the TV illuminated their joy-filled faces.
With the weight of the news replaced by the warmth of their love, they spent the evening lost in the magic of the movie, already dreaming of the adventures that awaited them with their little girl.
The room was immersed in the soft glow of the moonlight as Y/N gently shook Harry awake. His eyes fluttered open, momentarily disoriented, and his heart raced with concern. "What happened? Is everything okay with the baby?" he asked in a hushed tone, immediately reaching for her belly.
Y/N stifled a laugh, her hand resting on top of his. "No, no, everything's fine. The baby's doing great." She could see the relief washing over Harry as he sighed, the worry lines on his forehead smoothing out.
"Then why did you wake me up?" he asked, still half-asleep but attentive.
She hesitated for a moment, chewing on her lower lip nervously. "I, um, I have a craving."
Harry blinked, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion. "A craving? At this hour?"
Y/N nodded, her cheeks tinted pink. "Yeah. It's a bit embarrassing, but I really, really want candy burgers."
"Candy burgers?" Harry repeated, a bemused smile forming on his lips. "You woke me up in the middle of the night for candy burgers?"
She nodded sheepishly. "I know, it's silly. But I can't stop thinking about them, and I thought if I didn't get them now, I might not be able to sleep."
Harry couldn't help but chuckle, the initial shock of being abruptly woken up giving way to amusement. "Candy burgers, huh? I don’t even know what candy burgers are?”
“Well, the buns are rice krispies, the patty is a reese's cup, with caramel drizzle like ketchup, the tomatoes are strawberries and the pickles are green gummy worms” she confessed, her cheeks warming with embarrassment. “They have to be green and not the sour kind”.  Harry, with a bemused expression, took in her explanation and couldn't help but find the idea amusing.
“Well, I suppose we need to keep our little one happy." He swung his legs out of bed, rubbing his eyes as he stood up. "Let's go get you some candy burgers, then." He spoke as he looked for a pair of joggers since he needed to head to the store for the ingredients.
Tumblr media
The grocery store was bathed in the soft hum of fluorescent lights as Harry and Y/N strolled hand in hand through the aisles. Their journey had a specific destination tonight—the candy aisle. As they approached the colorful shelves filled with an array of sweets, Y/N's eyes sparkled with anticipation. "Alright, we need marshmallows, gummy candies, and anything else that screams candy burgers," she proclaimed, a playful grin on her face. Harry chuckled, finding the whole adventure amusing.
As they perused the candy section, Harry couldn't help but express his amazement. "You woke me up for candy burgers? I thought something was wrong," he admitted, his brows furrowed in mock concern. Y/N laughed, her voice echoing through the aisle.
"Harry, this is just a pregnancy craving. Get ready; you're in for a lot more sleepless nights and unexpected food runs," she teased, gently patting her baby bump. Harry raised an eyebrow, feigning shock.
"More of these midnight escapades?" he questioned, to which Y/N nodded with a mischievous smile. "It's all part of the journey, love," she reassured him, savoring the sweetness of the moment and the prospect of the candy burgers awaiting them at home.
Harry and Y/N turned the corner, the excitement of their candy burger quest lingering in the air, only to be met with an unexpected sight. There, standing in the grocery store, was Valeria, Harry's notorious ex-girlfriend. Dressed in a very short party dress and high heels, she clutched two bottles of hard tequila, her appearance revealing a Tuesday night of revelry. Valeria's eyes widened as she spotted Harry and Y/N, and a sly smile curved on her lips. It was a scene out of an awkward encounter.
"Harry, darling, long time no see," Valeria purred, feigning surprise. Her voice carried a note of mischief as she eyed Y/N from head to toe. Harry's grip on Y/N's hand tightened instinctively. "Valeria," he acknowledged, his tone reserved. Y/N tried to maintain composure, offering a polite smile despite the uneasy feeling settling in her stomach. Valeria's gaze lingered on Y/N, a subtle challenge underlying her expression.
"What brings you two lovebirds to this charming late-night rendezvous?" Valeria teased, the sarcasm evident in her voice. Harry cleared his throat, his response measured. "Just grabbing a few things," he replied, avoiding eye contact. Valeria chuckled, her laughter carrying a hint of mockery. "Well, don't let me keep you. Enjoy your... groceries," she quipped, the air thick with tension Valeria, pretending to be engrossed in the liquor aisle, subtly observed Y/N through the unzipped sweater she wore. The realization hit her like a sudden jolt — Y/N was pregnant. A mix of shock, jealousy, and resentment flickered across Valeria's face as she grappled with the unexpected revelation. Her plans to disturb Harry and Y/N's peaceful night with her presence took an unexpected turn.
Unable to contain her surprise, Valeria momentarily forgot about the bottles of tequila she clutched. Her eyes widened, fixated on Y/N's baby bump. The jealousy that surged within her was palpable. Her thoughts raced, contemplating how Harry had moved on, creating a family with someone else. A wave of bitterness washed over her, and she found herself caught between the desire to hide her emotions and the envy that fueled them.

9 Anime to Watch to Feel Like This 👇🏾
Tumblr media
The alternative title/concept for this list was "Anime Featuring The Zaddiests of Daddies" but, you know. Consistency or whatever. When I saw the gif, however, I cackled so loud that I figured it still captured The Vibe ✨ (that being #fatherless) Considering this context, some recommendations are slightly longer than the usual bite size serving of 12-24 episodes but you won't regret indulging. Each show is recommended for the plot which is very evident with the teaser gifs. Happy Fathers' Day, you degenerates. And remember, you don't have to have kids to be a Daddy. 😈❤️
Tumblr media
Spy x Family (series) - There is something so wholesome about the fate of the world as he knows it relying on how convincingly he can portray a Good Father despite his own origin story. Loid Forger, in a mission to maintain peace, creates the perfect family through any means necessary. Doubt he realized, in doing so, he'd create a home for himself and the oddballs helping to keep up the ruze.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Hulu
Tumblr media
Buddy Daddies (series) - The life of hitmen Rei Suwa and Kazuki Kurusu get a bit more messy when one of their hits leaves them with a pretty sizable loose end. Regardless of their occupation, their lives change around a little girl and trying to provide as good a home as two, single twenty-something men can. The rest, they'll figure out.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll
Tumblr media
My Senpai is Annoying (series) - Very capable working woman finds herself kohai to an older, overly chummy colleague who DEFINITELY does not know how to PDF documents unsupervised. This is a show about their day to day interactions. If you're wondering if Takeda is the only contender in this series, hold out for Futaba's grandfather. Just trust me.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll
Tumblr media
Jujutsu Kaisen (series + movie) - *Gestures vaguely to my blog* This show has plenty of compelling reasons to become obsessed. Trying to train strong child soldiers to protect the balance of humans vs curses so they don’t see a grisly demise is just one of them. Not your average shonen, not your average found families.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu
Tumblr media
My Hero Academia (series + movies) - Something about kids needing guidance so as not to die while in the pursuit of some great civic duty really creates an environment for some skrunkly father figures. 😘👌🏾 Never mind that the climax of this story is one that tangles generations of families as society adapts to the advent of super powers.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Hulu, Netflix
Tumblr media
Fire Force (series) - in a world where humans can spontaneously combust, Shinra, who is blamed for the fire that killed his mother and younger brother, seeks to overcome the stigma of his power and joins Fire Force Company 8. In training to fight Infernals, he learns to control his pyrokineses under the guidance of many talented fighters while trying to understand the world around him and the invisible hand that manipulates everything.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Hulu
Tumblr media
Attack on Titan (series) - Unpredictable violence at the vicious jaws of larger than life monsters, the last remaining humans seek refuse behind hallowed walls. Until one day, the day the first wall fell, which made what once provided security feel more like a holding pen ahead of the slaughter. As resources dwindle and the indomitable curiosity of humans persist, the brave minority pushes the boundaries of the walls that house them and seek to uncover the shroud of mystery as of how they found themselves prisoners to titans in the first place.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Hulu, Sling TV
Tumblr media
Chainsaw Man (series) - Human fears strengthen devils which threaten to overrun the world. Enter the Public Safety Devil Hunters responsible for exterminating devils before they become bigger problems and keeping a bead on larger threats, namely, the Gun Devil. The titular character eventually falls under the supervision of Aki Hayakawa (and later Kishibe *swoon*) who has a strong single-dad-who-works-two-jobs-who-loves-his-kids-and-never-stops type vibe.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Hulu
Tumblr media
Blue Exorcist (series + movie) - When your dad is Satan, the bar is literally in hell for the man who steps up to raise you. Even so, LOOK AT THE DRIP. There's a narrow line to walk when trying to overcome your own parentage and twin brothers, Rin and Yukio, seek to do so by following in their adoptive father, Shiro Fujimoto's, footsteps despite obvious adversity. Just remember to skip to Season 2 after episode 17 or Google the proper order to watch.
Sub/Dub | Crunchyroll, Hulu

Every year, I find myself up against the Tax Day deadline, hunting down paper forms and password-protected PDFs, disciplining piles of crumpled receipts, and getting all the fine-print arithmetic just right. This stress, like money, is distributed unevenly. The wealthy and their corporations operate not on the basis of a tax season but rather on a year-round minimization of liability, achieved by accountants, financial planners, and lobbyists. Meanwhile, low- and middle-income taxpayers count on their refunds, through the earned-income tax credit, to survive the months to come.
The Treasury Department collected $5.1 trillion in taxpayer dollars during the 2024 fiscal year—money that everyone has a different take on how to spend (Medicare and Social Security, education, scientific research, tanks and bombs, asphalt on the interstate, job training). But all that depends on a functional Internal Revenue Service, which Donald Trump and Elon Musk have targeted since January. Until recently, the I.R.S. had about ninety thousand employees to carry out tax collection and enforcement across the United States and its territories. That number is considerably smaller now, and will continue to shrink as Trump and Musk make cut after cut—and change the nature of the agency’s work. Last week, in a possibly unlawful move, the Administration announced that the I.R.S. would share confidential taxpayer information with the Department of Homeland Security, for the express purpose of arresting and deporting undocumented immigrants.
My conversations with workers inside the I.R.S. reveal an agency struggling to carry out its basic mission under the dual pressures of tax season and DOGE. This Administration’s policies, enacted in the name of so-called efficiency, could cost the Treasury more than two trillion dollars in lost revenues throughout the next decade. Federal employees are not used to being the protagonists of any story, especially a story as dreary as this. The willingness of one I.R.S. customer-service representative to be featured in today’s installment of my Deep State Diaries column indicates just how desperate conditions have become.
A week before Tax Day, Mike woke up at 4:30 A.M. and caught the train to Philadelphia just before six. The weather was brisk and sunny; from the window, the freeway traffic didn’t look bad yet. He wore his usual outfit: a Henley shirt, a light jacket, and slacks. He had two sandwiches for lunch. He carried his pocket radio, which was tuned to NPR’s “Morning Edition” on WHYY. “I’m definitely a creature of habit,” he said. Mike—whose real name has been withheld for privacy—has worked at the Internal Revenue Service for twenty years, currently as a customer-service representative. He is in his seventies and does not intend to retire.
The I.R.S. office in Philadelphia is situated in a grand, Art Deco-style federal building across from Thirtieth Street Station, along the Schuylkill River. Before President Donald Trump started his second term, the office employed around five thousand workers. Mike swiped through security, bought a coffee at the snack shop, and took the elevator up to his floor of padded cubicles. At his desk, he logged into his computer and put on a telephone headset, preparing for another day of what he called “the repetition—the same speech at the end of every call, the same speech during every call.” The I.R.S., which was created during Abraham Lincoln’s Presidency and sits in the Treasury Department, collected $5.1 trillion in the 2024 fiscal year—“nearly all the revenue that supports the federal government’s operations,” the agency wrote in its latest annual report. It runs a hotline, in English and in Spanish, with interpretation services available in more than three hundred and fifty additional languages.
It was peak tax season, which meant that Mike and other C.S.R.s in the building were on the phones more than usual. Thousands of representatives across the country handled tens of millions of calls, with an average wait time of just three minutes. “What’s your Social Security number? . . . Thank you. Hang on, please,” Mike began. “You got a letter from us. That letter is going to have a long number with some dashes or breaks. Can you give me that number, please?” In the cubicles all around him, his co-workers were taking similar calls, their voices forming a choir: “What’s your Social Security number?” “Address?” “Date of birth?” “Where were you born?” “Are you expecting a refund?”
If a taxpayer moves, sees a dramatic change in income, or is the victim of a scam, they might receive a letter asking them to contact the agency before their taxes are processed. Mike takes calls from taxpayers living abroad, taxpayers who have received notice of possible identity theft (the Taxpayer Protection Program), and taxpayers with random questions about their returns. Taxpayer-protection calls can last as long as half an hour, and Mike has verified the identities of people all over the world, from Texas to Egypt. One impatient caller went through the verification process, then asked why his account at irs.gov still reflected a protective hold. It takes time, Mike explained, for the data to go from “green characters on a black screen,” as it appeared on his computer, to an update online.
Lately, since Trump’s reëlection, Mike had been thinking a lot about racism and history. Where he lives, in the suburbs, most people are white (like him) and Republican (not like him). But the office, and Philadelphia in general, is largely Black. His dad, who was Jewish, had fought in the Second World War and faced discrimination in his own platoon. Mike came of age during the civil-rights movement. It was telling, he said, that Trump’s first campaign had “cast Barack Obama as an enemy” through the lie of birtherism. “That comes around to what we have today,” he added, “where half the country is just plain wrong and racist.” He believes that this prejudice is driving much of the Administration’s agenda, including its offensive against the I.R.S. and other government agencies. In 2024, nearly a fifth of federal workers were Black. “They’re perfectly happy to throw Black people out of work,” he said.
Four hundred employees in the Philadelphia office had been fired in February, a week after the “elation” of the Eagles winning the Super Bowl, Mike recalled. The several thousand workers who remained were being pushed to resign or retire, despite the crush of tax season. Flexible schedules were cancelled. Remote work would no longer be permitted. Trump did away with the civil-rights office, the union contract, and collective-bargaining rights. “There was anger, consternation on the floor,” Mike said. “Rage against the machine.”
A terse e-mail had arrived on April 4th, warning of a reduction in force “that will result in staffing cuts across multiple offices and job categories.” Nationally, the I.R.S.’s workforce of ninety thousand was expected to be halved. Employees were told to “upload a current resume to HRConnect”—their credentials would be scrutinized. C.S.R.s with even more seniority than Mike were having to market themselves like new college graduates. He helped a colleague dig up the résumé that she had used to apply to the I.R.S. It was another humiliation, not unlike the “five things you did last week” e-mail that Elon Musk and Russell Vought were requiring all federal employees to submit every Monday, or else.
Mike took that assignment literally, listing general tasks for each day of the week: “Taxpayer Protection Program line,” “international line,” “work and close cases.” “Our dear pal Elon Musk seems to push this idea that public-sector workers are lazy,” he said. “But we’re evaluated constantly. My calls are recorded. The adjustments I make are reviewed.” Systems analysts monitor what every C.S.R. is doing: the length of time they’ve been on a call, the length of time they’ve been between calls, the length of time they’ve been on break. “If you go over your fifteen-minute break, the managers start sending you e-mails,” Mike said. “There’s a lot of accountability. That’s O.K., because we’re getting paid to do a job. They have every right to know when we’re working.”
In the late morning, Mike attended a weekly meeting with the twenty or so C.S.R.s on his team. Their manager acknowledged that the agency was “understaffed and overworked.” She also stressed that it was not the time to slack off. The Philadelphia office had given each employee ninety minutes of “administrative time” to work on their résumés. “Do your hour and a half,” she told the team. She also addressed the impending return-to-office requirement. “In two weeks, everybody’s going to be in the building,” she said. “There is not enough parking, so it’s first come, first serve.” The C.S.R.s groaned. She also talked about the imminent reduction in force. “We don’t know who’s being RIF’d,” she said. “We don’t know how they’re doing it. . . . All I can do is tell you guys to just keep doing your best.”
Mike returned to the phones:
Can you tell me approximately how much you earned working for that particular employer? If you just go to our website, www.irs.gov, right on the left side, there’s a link that says, “Make a Payment”—fast and easy. Nine weeks to receive your refund, whether it’s issued as a direct deposit or a paper check. Did you have any dependents, and can you give me the name?
It all blurred together. “Same thing with variations all day long,” he said.
After college, Mike had briefly worked with adolescents in a psychiatric hospital. In his twenties, thirties, and forties, he was a railroad brakeman, a Radio Shack salesman, and a guitarist in rock and country bands. He applied for an I.R.S. job when he was in his fifties, after answering a personal ad and going on a date with a woman who worked there. “It didn’t turn into a relationship,” he said, but it did turn into a career. He was hired as a clerk, a literal paper pusher. He placed forms in file cabinets and opened envelopes that contained tax-return forms and paper checks. He reviewed original passports and birth and marriage certificates from foreign nationals who wanted to obtain a taxpayer I.D. number. He developed a basic faith in the premise of taxation. “I will say to people, ‘How much do you think it takes to get yourself a hundred and fifty fighter jets?’ What a criminal thing it is when people who are making tens of millions of dollars pay almost no tax.”
Now, as a C.S.R., he still “does paper”—the digital kind. When he wasn’t on the phone, he was examining the digitized 1040-X forms of taxpayers who had failed to report foreign assets (Section 21.8.1.28.1 of the Internal Revenue Manual). In one recent case, he made sure that a rare hundred-thousand-dollar “self-assessment,” or penalty, paid by a taxpayer with three dozen accounts in the Caribbean, was deposited in the right place. Normally, “I enjoy moving money from the taxpayer’s account to the U.S. Treasury,” he said. “But I feel no thrill today, knowing it’s going into the pockets of billionaires who finance politicians that are going to fire me in a few weeks.”
In the past, he had felt that, for most of the I.R.S., “things just keep working like they have been working all along.” Nothing at the C.S.R. level seemed to change “on the basis of who’s in the White House.” President Joe Biden had infused the agency with tens of billions of dollars under the Inflation Reduction Act, with the goal of improving customer service and tax enforcement, but Congress subsequently rescinded much of those funds.
On April 8th, the Treasury Department agreed to share private, individual taxpayer information with the Department of Homeland Security, in an effort to locate and arrest undocumented immigrants. In response, the acting head of the I.R.S., along with three other top officials—all Trump appointees—resigned. “We have always kept I.R.S. data, taxpayer data, strictly for use in processing tax returns,” Mike said. “Now we’re sharing immigrant identities. I think it’s atrocious.”
Mike wondered if the I.R.S. would continue to function. Trump’s cuts, in the name of so-called efficiency, might not affect collections or audits this month, but they are expected to cost more than two trillion dollars in federal revenues throughout the next decade. “Are they going to continue bringing the law to bear on wealthy people?” Mike said. “I don’t know. I haven’t got an answer.” He drew a contrast between figures like Trump and Musk and the ordinary, wage-earning rich. “If a heart surgeon makes five million bucks a year, he might pay a million and a half or two of it in federal taxes; or an officer in a large construction company who’s making three hundred or four hundred thousand a year and paying fifty or sixty thousand dollars in taxes. These are the folks really floating the boat, because they can’t hide their income.”
He had finished doing his own taxes in March, by hand. “I just clear a place on the table and get out my W-2s and 1099s and some blank forms,” he said. He had never used an accountant. He took annual training courses to stay up to date on tax procedures, and reviewed weekly alerts notifying him of changes to the law. “There’s a ton of information,” he said. “These folks who want to destroy the I.R.S.—they’re going to succeed, because it takes years to learn how to do this.” ♦

Stackpack Secures $6.3M to Reinvent Vendor Management in an AI-Driven Business Landscape
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/stackpack-secures-6-3m-to-reinvent-vendor-management-in-an-ai-driven-business-landscape/
Stackpack Secures $6.3M to Reinvent Vendor Management in an AI-Driven Business Landscape
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In a world where third-party tools, services, and contractors form the operational backbone of modern companies, Stackpack has raised $6.3 million to bring order to the growing complexity.
Led by Freestyle Capital, the funding round includes support from Elefund, Upside Partnership, Nomad Ventures, Layout Ventures, MSIV Fund, and strategic angels from Intuit, Workday, Affirm, Snapdocs, and xAI.
The funding supports Stackpack’s mission to redefine how businesses manage their expanding vendor networks—an increasingly vital task as organizations now juggle hundreds or even thousands of external partners and platforms.
Turning Chaos into Control
Founded in 2023 by Sara Wyman, formerly of Etsy and Affirm, Stackpack was built to solve a problem she knew too well: modern companies are powered by vendors, yet most still track them with outdated methods—spreadsheets, scattered documents, and guesswork. With SaaS stacks ballooning and AI tools proliferating, unmanaged vendors become silent liabilities.
“Companies call themselves ‘people-first,’ but in reality, they’re becoming ‘vendor-first,’” said Wyman. “There are often 6x more vendors than employees. Yet there’s no system of record to manage that shift—until now.”
Stackpack gives finance and IT teams a unified, AI-powered dashboard that provides real-time visibility into vendor contracts, spend, renewals, and compliance risks. The platform automatically extracts key contract terms like auto-renewal clauses, flags overlapping subscriptions, and even predicts upcoming renewals buried deep in PDFs.
AI That Works Like a Virtual Vendor Manager
Stackpack’s Behavioral AI Engine acts as an intelligent assistant, surfacing hidden cost-saving opportunities, compliance risks, and critical dates. It not only identifies inefficiencies—it takes action, issuing alerts, initiating workflows, and providing recommendations across the vendor lifecycle.
For instance:
Renewal alerts prevent surprise charges.
Spend tracking identifies underused or duplicate tools.
Contract intelligence extracts legal and pricing terms from uploads or integrations with tools like Google Drive.
Approval workflows streamline onboarding and procurement.
This brings the kind of automation once reserved for enterprise procurement platforms like Coupa or SAP to startups and mid-sized businesses—at a fraction of the cost.
A Timely Solution for a Growing Problem
Vendor management has become a boardroom issue. As more companies shift budgets from headcount to outsourced services, compliance and financial oversight have become harder to maintain. Stackpack’s early traction is proof of demand: just months after launch, it’s managing over 10,500 vendors and $510 million in spend across more than 50 customers, including Every Man Jack, Rho, Density, HouseRx, Fexa, and ZeroEyes.
“The CFO is the one left holding the bag when things go wrong,” said Brandon Lee, Accounting Manager at BizzyCar. “Stackpack means we don’t have to cross our fingers every quarter.”
Beyond Visibility: Enabling Smarter Vendor Decisions
Alongside its core platform, Stackpack is launching Requests & Approvals, a lightweight tool to simplify vendor onboarding and purchasing decisions—currently in beta. The feature is already attracting customers looking for faster, more agile alternatives to traditional procurement systems.
With a long-term vision to help companies not only manage but discover and evaluate vendors more strategically, Stackpack is laying the groundwork for a smarter, interconnected vendor ecosystem.
“Every vendor decision carries legal, financial, and security consequences,” said Dave Samuel, General Partner at Freestyle Capital. “Stackpack is building the intelligent infrastructure to manage these relationships proactively.”
The Future of Vendor Operations
As third-party ecosystems grow in size and complexity, Stackpack aims to transform vendor operations from a liability into a competitive advantage. Its AI-powered approach gives companies a modern operating system for vendor management—one that’s scalable, proactive, and deeply integrated into finance and operations.
“This isn’t just about cost control—it’s about running a smarter company,” said Wyman. “Managing your vendors should be as strategic as managing your talent. We’re giving companies the tools to make that possible.”
With fresh funding and a rapidly expanding customer base, Stackpack is poised to become the new standard for how modern businesses manage the partners powering their growth.

Digital IDs: A Threat to Health Freedom? - NOTE: it appears that there are no states that have made REAL ID mandatory. No matter what state you live in you can (at least for now) keep your state license and travel domestically if you have one of the 16 IDs (ie passport, military card, VA card are just a few) On Wednesday evening I had the pleasure of being asked to participate in a discussion about REAL ID and state sovereignty. This presentation was hosted by the Independent Medical Alliance previously known as FLCCC. Twila Brase was the featured speaker and I highly recommend you listen to the presentation and take advantage of the great resources she has to offer at REFUSEREALID.ORG There are 3 PDF information papers in the middle of the Home page that will give you all the information you need. Most people know nothing about REAL ID and that is on purpose. Please get educated using the resources Twila provides tell everyone you know about the dangers of a federal REAL ID. REAL ID is NOT mandatory and you can travel if you refuse REAL ID and get a state license. In order to fly domestically if you do not have REAL ID you need to have one of the 16 documents approved by the law. Some of the listed is a US passport, military ID, VA ID just to name a few. If you already have a REAL ID you can change back to a state license. Again, Twila’s information will help you through the system. 52 min. VIDEO
