I HATE how so much of the discourse around She-Hulk series is around Cox returning as Matt Murdock/Daredevil (understandably so)
But PLEASE for the love of God, I really hope the audience and ESPECIALLY the show (or maybe even ESPECIALLY the audience as well) focuses on the story of Jen Walters than everything else
MCU content these seems to be more and more about setting up everything else rather than putting more emphasis on the story at hand
The whole "week-to-week speculation" thing is really the death of meaningful stories for the characters.
Ms Marvel started out a promising coming-of-age story, about a young POC girl who gets what she wished for, and it quickly spiraled into the entire story being focused about her lineage rather than HER story
She became a plot device than an actual character in her story and at the end of the series the discourse was about Mutants, Mutants, Mutants
Not about Kamala Khan
The fandom is to blame as well, we seem to thrive on speculation and buzz more and the result is this
I really don't see anyone actually talking about HER story, because you know why?
The people behind the series themselves didn't put in the work
I hope Marvel will be the one to put an end to this and stop using series and movies as backdoor pilots to set up literally everything else instead of focusing on the current story they are supposed to be telling at hand

I got to see Aurat for the second time in less than a year ^_^
For those of you unfamiliar, Aurat has come to prominence for being a goth band in which most of the lyrics are sung in Urdu, being fronted by Pakistani-American Azeka Kamal

Uh guys, in case you aren't all caught up, the graphic novel that started as a little queer comic on Tumblr by ND Stevenson (creator of Shera: Princesses of Power) has been adapted by Netflix into an adorable movie about the contemporary genderqueer experience. Go watch Nimona. RIGHT NOW. (Also read the book!)
The movie also features an API gay couple. Ambrosius Goldenloin is an Asian American descendant of the revered knight, Gloreth, and he dyes his hair blonde to match hers and fit the white saviour image that the public expects from him. He is manipulated golden child of a conservative white woman trying to assert control over the kingdom. Ballister Boldheart is a darker-skinned (desi! muslim!) British Pakistani sweetheart who had to bootstrap his way to the top and still couldn't win model minority status with the head of the institute, and is framed for crimes he didn't commit and condemned by the state. The character designs are both modeled after their voice actors, Eugene Lee Yang and Riz Ahmed. Both actors have done extensive DEI work for the API LGBTQ+ community and visibility!

They are archenemies. They are lovers. They are husbands but also kind of divorced. They will find their way back to each other because they are simply victims of the same system, and they are just so soft for each other and what they want to protect. They are also Nimona's dads. They're slightly different from how they were in the book, but I'm so glad for the changes. And I'm so glad for what remained exactly the same as ND Stevenson envisioned years ago:

The concept of birthright is wild because that logic doesn't work when applied to other cultures.
Pakistani's from Pakistan would consider me a foreigner. Hell they'd see my parents as foreigners, and they were born there.
But somehow that logic doesn't apply to Israel?
They'll accept foreign settlers as their citizens but won't accept the indigenous population of Palestinians... Or see them as human?
It's crazy how in any other immigrant culture Netanyahu would be considered a foreigner in his home country.
Because yeah he was born in Tel Aviv but he was raised in America.
But no ones like oh he's turned American, he's not Israeli enough.
That is insane.

God that last post is so fucking frustrating because Asians experience so many microaggressions for names especially when you live in a non Asian country and it's the worst thing. Because names MEAN something and in Asian cultures the mean a whole lot they're about history and extend so far back. They have deep and complex meanings that vary from country to country. And people make fun of them or mispronounce them and continue to do so or ask "can I call you -whitename- instead" like it's a nickname that's cute no fuck off, or like how sometimes we have multiple names because we have to or we have to make up a name cause we think we need to or even consider changing our own name to something dumb like Betty because the incredible culturally significant and beautiful name we have ends up bringing us nothing but pain because it's just another way to ostracize and bully and exclude us. That we have to make ourselves palletable to white folks because "wow you're so pretty and foreign I wish I had your eyes/hair/skin" but "your name is hard to say can I call you this instead"
It's disgusting, and if you find you disagree then you need to stop fetishizing us and learn some Goddamn empathy and respect or go read your dumb white vampire book or your stupid hoover lady and leave our spaces alone

Reminder that the whole reason Pakistan is in the mess it is.
With Imran Khan being removed as prime minister.
And his subsequent imprisonment for 3 years after that.
And that whole mess.
... Is because of America.
Imran Khan was in support of a neutral policy in the Russia/Ukraine war.
The Russian invasion into Ukraine hadn't started and he expressed that "there was still hope for a peaceful solution to be reached."
And the US didn't like that.
In a secret diplomatic cable between the than Pakistani ambassador to America had with 2 state department officials from America.
One being Donald Lou who was not happy with Imran Khan.
'He said that "I think if the no- confidence vote against the prime minister succeeds, all will be forgiven in Washington because the Russia visit is being looked at as a decision by the Prime Minister. Otherwise, I think it will be tough going ahead."
So in other words, because Imran Khan had a different view point that he did, he was threathing Pakistan on the world's stage.
That if they didn't get rid of their leader, their leader who had been democratically elected by the Pakistani public.
Than they would suffer consequences.
... I'm sorry who the fuck put you in charge?!
And if you think oh it's just one guy.
"Don could not have conveyed such a thing without the express approval from the White House."
Aka the Biden Administration.
Which he expressed multiple times.
... I'm not suprised but my god does this piss me off.
Day after this, the no vote of confidence began in the Pakistani Parliament.
And Imran Khan was removed.
And imprisoned.
On some of the most flimsy ass charges I've ever heard.
However, shockingly... People who voted Imran Khan to be prime minister of Pakistan... Actually really liked the guy.
Imagine that.
And protests happened.
And the military, who was already corrupt got a power high from the situation and were arresting many of said supporters.
And Imran Khan might be free now but America has made sure that he can't run in the Pakistani elections.
No matter how popular and how much people want him in charge.
Don't get me wrong the military is definitely fucking shit up.
And their are others at fault.
Infact, Americas involvement was raised by Imran Khan in March 2022 (but this secret cable was only revealed today.)
He stated "a foreign power sent a message that he needs "to be removed" or Pakistan will face the consequences."
And incase you were wondering if it was America.
He the letter he received to be "a foreign conspiracy letter" and it's language was "threathing and arrogant."
But the damage was done.
And while no one else was helping this situation, it wouldn't have happened if not for the USA.
Because who the fuck gives you the right to threaten Pakistan because they wanted to stay neutral in a conflict that they weren't apart of.
Nor had even begun.
You destabilised their government, further corrupted the country and the military for your own gain with no remorse or regard for who it would affect.
You put the person who many feel is the one hope for Pakistan in jail and now he can't become leader.
If someone tried that with America, their government would lose their absolute shit.
We'd be called a dangerous foreign power.
But when you do it it's fine?
But your somehow allowed to dictate the way other countries are run? No offence but you can't run yourselves.
Nevermind Pakistan.
You have no right to do any of this.
You have shattered any peace in Pakistan.
Everyone who has died in the protests and riots is on your hands.
And because of that this news is probably being blocked in Pakistan.
Purposefully destabilise a south asian government and than fuck off like it never happened, who are you, the British?
And their denying it.
US State spokesperson Matthew Miller said "nothing in these purported comments show that the United States talking a position on who the leader of Pakistan should be."
Another spokesperson, Jalina Porter states "let me just say very bluntly, there is absolutely no truth to these allegations."
You fucking liars.
