sympathy, won't you come around?

“Oh god.” Steve turns, head on a slow swivel, looking around. He knows this alleyway. He knows this street, the buildings, tall and laden with clotheslines, running from fire escape to fire escape like veins bleeding life into the city. They’re in the wrong place. They’re in the wrong time. Steve ends up in the past with Tony and they both witness Mr. Rogers' infamous temper.

This fic I got to write with @turtle-steverogers and I am so happy with it! I really like exploring comic Joseph Rogers who was abusive but there isn't a lot of fics about that out there, so it was really fun and satisfying to write this idea together.

2. Do over

"T.A.H.I.T.I. was designed to revive a fallen Avenger. That's how it got started." Or, Tony is doing his best to live his life and settle down after the whole AIM thing...and then Steve Rogers shows up at his door, as prickly and uptight as always. Beyond that though... something just seems... off with him, something Tony can't quite put his finger on. And, you know, the fact that he and SHIELD are no longer on speaking terms is kind of a red flag.

This fic took me by a storm. I wrote the whole thing in like, three days. I am still impressed by this fic, the way Steve and Tony are distant but become friends during it and the reveal of what happened to Steve. It's just all very satisfying.

3. All Too Familiar

The man in the Helicarrier is Important, so the Asset stays with him on the bank of the Potomac. Soon agents come to collect the man, and the Asset realises why he must know him. Or, Bucky, fresh from Hydra, watches the interactions between Steve and the Avengers, and comes to the logical conclusion that Steve must also be an asset like himself.

This fic was inspired by a fic by @perplexinglyparadoxialperson. In their fic Bucky thought Steve was also an asset and that was such an intriguing concept! This is another fic I wrote all at once. I just like how Bucky's assumption really drives home how alienated Steve is in this fic.

4. Out of it

Tony and Steve team up to fix the engines after an initial clash on the Helicarrier. It's going well until Tony finds Steve dissociating after his near fall out of the Helicarrier fighting Loki's goons. It isn't what he's expecting, and Tony has to confront the fact that Captain America isn't what he first thought.

I love this fic because it was really fun to write a oneshot that focused directly on one traumatizing thing for Steve. Avengers goes so fast and doesn't have time to focus on all the things that happen to him but I always think of them when I'm watching the movie!

5. The Singer

Everyone knows that the Singer is a Seeker blessed by Primus to sing songs that predict the future and guide the present. It is too bad no one can seem to unravel his meaning. Or so Megatronus has been told. He is starting to suspect some willful ignorance on the behalf of his fellow Councillors.   "What was his name again?" he asks, his optics pinned to the fiery ones in front. The councillor next to him shrugs, hardly paying the song any mind. "Starscream." Or, Megatronus finds himself entangled in the mess of corruption that is Cybertron, and finds an ally in a bitterly fierce Seeker who can only speak in song.

This fic was quite an accomplishment for me! I had this idea brewing for years. It's not uncommon for me to be inspired by music and have story ideas where characters use music to express themselves. I never thought I'd write one of them since it sounded like a hard idea to pull off, but I am so happy with this fic! Very proud of it.

This doesn’t sound like an auspicious beginning to me, but Wilson is laughing.

Prompt; after the Chitauri invasion, Tony tells Steve of a discreet restaurant that he might like. Unfortunately, Tony thought it was funny to give him the address of a BDSM club instead. 

 Bucky sees the confused and stressed Steve and introduces himself, making sure Steve is alright. They get along great, and even do a small scene before Steve is called in. Bucky gives him his phone number of course, but doesn’t really expect Steve to call him. 

 Bucky has no clue that he’s Captain America, due to him only introducing himself as Steve. Unfortunately, after the mission Steve was called in for, he drops, due to him going into a mission just off of his first scene. 

 Luckily, JARVIS puts the pieces together and calls Bucky to come and help him...

So I just wanted to promote the amazing What To Finish charity auction, one that’s donating to the Philippines after the typhoon. It’s a really cool event where the creators auction off their WIP’s so they get the motivation to finish them, while helping the people of the Philippines! There are still two days left to sign up as a creator, after which the preview week will begin! Here’s a link to the tumblr account for this event!

I’ve submitted two auctions for this event, one of them two 5+1’s focused on Steve’s enhanced senses, and one of them a Shrunkyclunks soulmate AU that is a sequel, so I hope to see you there!

So, if I wanted to have two separate works in the same fandom, but in different auctions, would that be okay? And when signups come out, can I put in the notes the estimations of timings? One of mine will take a long time, and the other would probably be finished just a month after the bidding. Also, can I post the story however I’d like? Like a chapter a week despite it being all done? Sorry for all the questions, I’ve just never taken part in anything like this before!

Questions are amazing! This is our first charity event we’re running so we want to help our participants in any way we can :D

You can totally have two separate works from the  same fandom in two different auctions. We ask that you do not mix types of work (i.e. fanart and fanfiction) in the same auction and they stay the same type of work.

You can have one WIP per auction or you can have 5 WIPs if you’d like. We ask that you use the link to GDrive once you get to about 6 WIPs. 

Yes! please put the estimation of timing so your bidders know when to expect your works. Put how long you think the story will be in you’d like. The more information you can give bidders to help them, the better.

You most certainly can post the story however you like. We are getting an ao3 collections made so that those who post on ao3 can add their stories to the collection. We look forward to having you and please let us know if we can clarify things further! I will be sure to put more details in the Creator/Bidder info page with your questions to help other participants.

Another one: Steve gets wings with his serum (no one else has wings) and has clue how to take care of them/doesn’t know that he has to preen. Everyone thinks that his feathers are so brittle and fall out so often because they shouldn’t be on a person, and thinks there’s nothing to be done

A SHIELD agent (Bucky) whose best friend keeps birds realizes that this is definitely not normal, and on a long term scouting mission with just them, decides to ask if he can help with them...

100 AO3 Subscribers Event🎉

I wasn’t expecting to ever get this far, much less this fast, but thank you so much. I know that there’s probably some people here who don’t read my fanfic, but here is the best place to announce it (though I will also be announcing it in the notes of my next few fics) and run the event, so I’ll be doing it here. Feel free to participate even if you don’t subscribe to me on AO3!

What I’m going to be doing is allowing you guys to submit sentences, either Captain America or Witcher based, on either my AO3 fics or my Tumblr (the same username is used for both of them; PerplexinglyParadoxialPerson) and after I get how many I want, I will be putting them together to make a (probably very cracky) fic, one for each fandom. You will be able to submit them either as a comment on one of my fics, as a comment on here, or as an ask if you want to be anonymous on Tumblr.

The Rules

1) For your sentence to be properly submitted, you must tell me that the sentence is for the event and wether it’s for the Captain America or the Witcher story

2) Your sentence cannot be sexually explicit, as I do not write sexually explicit stuff very often, so I will be preemptively removing it

3) You must be okay with me minorly editing your sentence so that it can fit more easily into the overall story

If you are not okay with any of these rules, please do not participate.

Other than that, have fun! Submit one sentence, submit a bunch of sentences, either anonymously or not (if you do not submit it anonymously, I will ask you if you want to be credited, and you don’t have to say yes). I can’t promise to use every single sentence I receive, but I will try my absolute best to use the majority of them.
