Greek Goddess Legacy Challenge: Generation #3 Hera: Complete

I present you, the Queen herself: Hera!

In your childhood you were constantly pestered by the press, with all the rumors surrounding your parents. And it is not nice, to be hated so much. They don't care you are legitimate, they just care that your mother is an adulteress. You decide there and then you will never be hated by the public again. You will be loved. They will know you for what you can do, and not for what your mother did. You will have the power to shut the press down. You will be famous and rich. When famous actor Zeus proposes you two get married, you accept. You will be the perfect picture for the press. Or so you thought. Turns out Zeus has the same habits your mother had, constantly sharing the bed with others. The press is shaming you once again, this time for being unable to keep your husband faithful. And you hate yourself too. You had promised yourself not to get attached like your dad did. But deep down you are , having grown to love him with the years. That hurt turns to cold anger over the years. He knows divorce is not an option for you, for you will be ruined.

Little bit explanation with the sheets: - First sheet is for describing your current generation, with the challenges you need to do each life-stage. Also, because I love the myths, a bit of mythological background. May it inspire you :) - Second sheet is the preparation sheet for this generation, with important characters for your story. It is technically optional, but I love seeing sims with a backstory in my world, so I would highly recommend it. - Third sheet is for your gens children. They all have their own little challenges if your interested in those. I try to make all of them a bit different from each other, so it doesn’t get boring. Your heir is also on this sheet, but I’ve put their challenges on their own sheets. Stay tuned for those ;) - Fourth sheet is completely optional. If you want sims with names from the myths and love making sims to see them in your world, this is for you! All with a little mythological background ofc, you know me.

The Greek Goddesses Challenge by LJJ-Sims is a challenge based on the ancient mythical creatures and stories from Greece. I fell in love with Greek mythology in high school and have not let that love go since. In this challenge you will follow 10 deities in their journey through life. Every goddess has a different take on and goal in life. Special about this challenge?  All your kids have little challenges of their own, not only your heir. These challenges are optional, so if you feel like these are too much or just too restricting for you: by all means let them go. I also have sheets for characters that you can make before you start each generation. This gives your challenge a lot more personality and makes it frankly easier and more fun!

A little disclaimer: because I made these gods and goddesses into a legacy challenge, the relationships in the myths don’t exactly match the relationship in this challenge. There is a lot of keep it in the family in mythology, to put it lightly. And apart from the fact that you can’t do that in the Sims, I don’t really like that part. So I didn’t include it, thus the inconsistency. An example: Ares is now Hera’s stepfather instead of her son, which she conceived with her brother  and husband Zeus. This inconsistency can also be found in the stories. It’s just based on and not copied exactly, as Sims live lives that are a lot shorter than those of immortal gods. And it takes a way from the creativity if we just copy the myths. Even if we wanted to do that, it’s quite hard, as every myths has its fair share of variations and some are just completely different stories.

First Interrogation ; The Words That Hurt Most

I tapped my fingers against the desk, annoyed and darting my eyes around the room impatiently for any sign of a sentient being entering the room, or even the sound of a squeak. It wouldn’t been dead silent without the eerie ambience, which I would have much preferred instead of this sense of dread in the air. Furrowing my eyebrows, I tapped my foot against the cement and glanced towards the door; letting my thoughts wander freely and considering…everything that’s happened in the past 48 hours or less.

I was annoyed, acting inconvenienced. Maybe it was because I had expected Es to be late due to the fact everyone complained they were late, and I already set my expectations lower than usual for someone like them.

Or.

Maybe because they were taking the most time to get here out of every single interrogation.

I was honestly starting to think it was intentional—they knew about my distrust and suspicion—and therefore they were trying to both piss me off and avoid me at the same time, which made me even more pissed.

Because, even though they looked like my younger cousin in both height and babyface, they had the attitude of a complete brat. It was getting ridiculous, as I’ve heard from several others (and….eavesdropping occasionally) they have found it in themself to be short-tempered and aggravate everyone within a 24 mile radius. It’s almost a talent of how they’ve pissed one of us off at least twice.

Of course, this was just my observation. An assumption, if you will. Because of their rather vague and often contradictory statements, I’ve taken to calling them “pheme”, much to their disliking. Did they know what it meant?…probably not. But that wasn’t the point.

"LORD ANUBIS SLEEPING WITH A HUMAN, IS MARRIAGE PERHAPS IN SIGHT?! LADY AMPHITRITE AWAY ON TOP SECRET SPECIAL MISSION! MECHANICAL APPENDAGES SITLL LITTERED EVERYWHERE, WHO THE FUCK OWNS THESE??!!"

Anubis chokes on his food as he walks along the hall, jogging after the goddess keeping up with her easily. "Hey! Hey! Why would you say that about me?"

He smiles, but the underlined anger was present in his aura.

“It’s already time..? That’s ridiculous, it feels like just yesterday we watched Xelqua send them home!”

"Oh, but it is simply so boring to just Watch. He was right about that, it is far more entertaining to… intervene, than to just observe."

"Be careful, Pandora, you make it sound like you want to be a player too. And, well… you Saw how that played out."

"Oh, no. That's too much for me, obviously! I do pity that we cannot interfere more, however..."

“I mean, there’s no harm in a little interference here and there! Say Argus, since you know so much, Xelqua has definitely broken their own rules — hasn’t he?”

"Oh, he definitely broke the first rule when he decided to Play instead of Watch, but other than that? I'm not sure, honestly. Sometimes I do wonder, though, if he's done more than we think he has."

"He gets attached, rather easily, even. That is quite unbecoming of Watchers, but I imagine it happens when you find yourself thrust into those tensions."

“Definitely. Have you seen the way he looks at that Scar of his? Oh, he’s so smitten! He would burn down the world for him then murder him senseless!”

"And he has."

"I will admit, that's one of the reasons I'm so excited to Watch this play out. But I'm also curious about the others and what they'd do. This is the first time all seventeen of them are going to be in one game, after all."

"Oh, the stories will be amazing! I cannot wait to see what happens to Jimmy this round, his death always seems to bring a big ruckus with it!"

"Poor Jimmy, first out all three times so far. I wonder if his supposed curse will prevail even here?"

“I’d hope to see him finally witness another’s death!”

"Ah, but it's so much fun to watch the chaos unfold after him! Canaries in their coal mines, and all. Regardless, these games will be quite the spectacle!"

"I definitely agree with you on that, Pandora; I can't wait to see what ends up happening."

“As much as it is in our hands, it really isn’t. It’s not just us, right, Argus? Pandora?”

"True. There's more that will be intervening soon, and their numbers are only growing."

“I was surprised by such a response! Do you think they have the same goals as us?”

"Oh, unlikely. There's so many, I'm certain there are some conflicting interests!"

"I agree! But we'll just have to wait and see to test that hypothesis…"
