(yap warning) this pride month i've been wanting everyone to just completely drop the labels for a bit and just be themselves.

i've seen a lot of people that, ironically enough; become restricted by their own flag. basically what happens is the person gets so convinced that they're said gender/sexuality that they forget that their identity is supposed to change along the way and end up with a feeling of dysphoria about their own labels they've set for themselves. that's what i mean by "drop the labels"

i'm not saying you should completely stop reffering to yourself as whatever you identify as! i just want to remind you not to let those labels get in the way of your real self :) dont feel pressured to find a name or flag for who you are and just be you by yourself. finding your identity is a constantly changing journey.

Looking at some more casual terno/filipiniana and they so so remind me of modern teachers' uniforms always so I looked up the teachers' uniform that DepEd had currently and gosh these are actually so cool and pretty and the fact that you could see how the design is absolutely based on Filipino traditional clothes and patterns too.

Here's the ones from 2021:

These ones specifically actually have some cool and subtle design elements. Each letter on the design itself is based on the day that these are worn. There's no specific law that necessitates that they do have to add these little flourishes on the design of their uniforms but I think it's very nice.

Here's the designs on actual people and another extra one I didn't really add in that's for non-teaching staff but there's also little design notes on it too on the document.

Then the ones for 2025 became more direct that it's taking inspiration from traditional clothes

Then it becomes less subtle for the non-teaching uniforms (which I gather is for people who are part of the school administration). The barong designs are just stunning!

I just think it's nice and if you're ever designing some sort of school uniform either for a fictional story or an actual school, I think also working on teachers' uniforms could add a lot to the overall impact of vibes of the school as well as showcase the culture of the community that the school's located in. You could be creative with it and be more subtle or go all out as long as it doesn't impede on teachers or staff from doing their work.

It's also not a privilege for those who chose to be out as binary, whether according their agab or not, because they are closeting themselves.

i feel like it is important to remind people that FTX nonbinary people in general do not actually get their identities respected. they also get told they are either quirky women or binary trans men in denial. like being the most visible type of nonbinary person involves being a frequent target for exorsexist, misogynistic transphobia.

none of this is being said to take away from the bigotry towards MTX nonbinary people (altho it should be mentioned that both face similar issues; there are people assigned female who get kicked out of queer spaces for being too male; there are people assigned male whose identities are reduced down to "quirky woman," drawing this binary while somewhat useful is itself sloppy and leaves out a lot nuance esp. wrt to intersex people) but given the whole "theyfab" shit some of y'all need to be reminded. the last US trans survey found that FTX nonbinary people had the highest lifetime rate of sexual assault (58%) and being denied hormone coverage (36%). being nonbinary & assigned female does not grant anyone a uniquely privileged place in the patriarchy even amongst trans people. stop trying to find a group of trans people its acceptable to mock and label privileged invaders
