Mengenal Alfabet Korea: Hangeul (한글)
Konsonan (자음 – Ja-eum)

Vokal (모음 – Mo-eum)

Contohnya, gabungan huruf h+a+n, ᄒ(h) +ᅡ (a) + ᄂ (n) = 한 (han).

Happy Sun Wukong Sunday who else is thinking of how that monkey's first shifu Patriarch Subodhi told him he was doomed to be wicked & that if Sun Wukong ever revealed who his teacher was then Patriarch Subodhi would torture him to death & then centuries later Tang Sanzang told Sun Wukong he was the very embodiment of evil & he'd rather go to hell then continue being his shifu.

Tree-Born Beings in JTTW?
Upon meeting the Monkey King, the Patriarch Subodhi asks him a number of questions, including his surname (xing, 姓). Monkey confuses this for an inquiry into his temperament or nature (xing, 性):
"I'm not speaking of your temperament," the Patriarch said. "I'm asking after the name of your parents." "I have no parents either," said the Monkey King. The Patriarch said, "If you have no parents, you must have been born from a tree" (Wu & Yu, 2012, vol. 1, pp. 114-115).
The part in bold really interests me.
The possibility of something being born from a tree is the first thing that comes to Subodhi's mind. Remember that the Patriarch is an enlightened master with knowledge of a great many things. Therefore, within the novel's universe, this might point to a category of spirits born from the flowers and/or fruits of trees. Just imagine the possibilities for fanfiction!
This reminds me of Momotarō (桃太郎, "Peach Boy") from Japanese mythology. Like Monkey, he experiences a supernatural birth from a spherical object and later becomes a great hero who battles demons with the help of animal friends.

Whitewave ♡
Here are all the current Whitewave households, as we get ready for the start of the next round ♡
Many of these families are in for a change once the new round starts rolling. For example, even though I moved Ruby back in with the Commune, I don't think she's going to stick around for long. Mia, too, should already move on and start living her vampire life somewhere else. And from the newer singles households, both Aamu and Ilona are about to move in with their girlfriends. SO these pictures are going to need an update very soon.
I intend to do versions with names attached (for now they have ALT descriptions you can click to read), and a separate photoshoot for everyone's headshots (so I can make family trees and such). But for now it's too late so that'll have to wait until later.

my grandpa is such a FUCKING cutie putie. to understand better I have to start when my father and I argued about my black ring on my middle finger (the black ring supremacyyy), in front of him. and he tells me: "I think you can put this ring wherever you want", with a deeply Italian accent (we are italian but it makes me laugh).
a few days later he comes back to our house and shows me this giant leather ring made by him, he puts it on the middle finger of my right hand with a smirk.
it's really too big for a normal finger but I keep it anyway (it always falls off but every time I look at it I smile)

"i'm teaching a monkey yao a forbidden method of immortality!!!" girl... what were YOU doing knowing a forbidden method of immortality
[ID: A three page comic done in white and shades of purple. Characters are uncolored, but have shading.
First panel has Patriarch Puti and Sun Wukong walking in an enclosed back garden, with Sun Wukong looking up at Patriarch Puti seriously as his sifu speaks. Patriarch Puti says, "These techniques, although effective, are dangerous. They are teachings outside of known doctrine. What you have done is stolen the creative powers of Heaven and Earth, intruded on the dark machinations of the moon and sun."
Second panel has Sun Wukong considering this somberly. He says, "Sifu... That's..." He processes for a moment, and says "Wait-"
In the third panel, Sun Wukong looks up at Patriarch Puti with a knowing mischievous grin, while Patriarch Puti looks very tired, as if he already knows what SWK is about to say. Sun Wukong asks, "If they're so unknown and forbidden, how do you know them then?"
Fourth panel has Patriarch Puti simply stating, "Wukong, as the next generation, your responsibility is to learn from the mistakes of your elders." Sun Wukong responds, "ha okay." In the background, with the caption "Several hundred years ago," there is a flashback of a young Patriarch Puti running away as a strike of lightning barely misses his feet.
End ID]
#journey to the west#jttw#xiyouji#sun wukong#monkey king#patriarch puti#puti shifu#had two concepts for patriarch puti in my head and was not sure which one im gonna go with#one ver is where he was just as reckless and a menace as swk in his youth but he either mellowed out as he grew older#or somethingTM happened to make him realize his actions have consequences#and thus he has a soft spot for swk because he sees a bit of himself in swk#second version is where he's always been serious and mellow but now that he's this old he kinda regrets not acting out more#and thus he respects swk's boldness and wishes to somewhat nurture that boldness#🤔 but now i think im going with an in-between ver#being a puti shifu who was very skilled and bold and gifted in his youth but all his rebelliousness was spent on more self-serving things#rather than fighting any injustices in the system like swk#nd now that he's older he regrets that and he's a teacher now wanting to pass his skills onto new generations to do some good now#<- btw re: the wording of swk 'fighting injustice in the system'-#-i am a swk apologist <3 yaoguai rights <3 but i also dont wanna give off the impression that i think he was 100% entirely in the right-#-villain swk rights <3#but yeah i think while he was at puti's school (constantly reminded he's not a human or immortal) he was moreso of the mind:#'fucking sucks that yaoguai are mistrusted and not treated the same'#and that remains his core motivating factor but as he grows more power and leaves puti's side he kinda kinda loses sight of that a bit ykno#as he gets more megalomaniac yaoguai warlord#anyways yea#swk was still right tho <3 <- correct

I'm in the chapter where Wukong admits to eating humans, so that's definitely canon from the novel?
I’ve talked about this and this before on some level but while he says that he has eaten people, it also says in a later chapter that he didn’t in order to perform a certain life-healing art.
You would find that a lot of people have talked about this before and funny enough I find a lot of agreement that Wukong was more just "talking up" to make himself seem more threatening due to how his powers work and thus he couldn't have eaten humans if his powers were to make sense.
Has Sun Wukong really eaten people?Look at what he said to the Jade Emperor with clairvoyance when he was just born
In the White Deer Arc, we see that Sanzang claims that only Wukong can use his primal breathe to heal as he has never eaten humans before like Wujing and Bajie have had.
Tumblr media
It is also in Puti's teaching to Wukong that he even tells him that eating humans would ruin his cultivation and he needs to remain "pure" meaning that can't partake in 'bad' cultivation so to speak.
Tumblr media
So while Wukong DID say he ate humans, I see a lot more people agree that he was just talking air to make a point since his powers prove that he couldn't have eaten humans else he would loose his immortality and healing abilities.

Wait, Sun Wukong is a Buddhist monk, Jade Emperor is from Taoist myth then which myth Patriarch Subodhi came from?? Is he from Taoist myth?
Subodhi is based on Subhuti, one of the ten main disciples of the Buddha. Despite Subodhi's image as a Taoist immortal in popular culture, JTTW actually suggests that he is a Buddhist deity. See section 2.3 of my previous article.

First attempt at illustrating Puti Zushi, the great immortal and Sun Wukong’s first shifu! I’m still pretty fuzzy on how precisely his kind of teaching and spiritual stance--which I understand to be a combination of Taoism and Buddhism--works, but I hope I did an okay job on this imagination.
