Getting back from the coronation ceremony never felt….this draining. You took off your red heels as you reached the second story of your palace, sluggish and exhausted from mingling with thousands of different people out there in the ceremony. It was truly an honor for you to be called and addressed with the newly acclaimed title. You were now the certified Queen of Midland. Starting tomorrow, you have to make the necessary preparations for another upcoming event—a sort of celebration that welcomes you into the new world of authoritarian rule.
With that, you thought of treating yourself to a warm bath as a reward. You immediately rushed to the bathroom, its golden, intricately designed walls standing out as you opened the steel doors. Even the black sink formed a heart shape, the architects paying very close attention to the way you exactly wanted your home to look like. Your approach to architecture was not far off from a gothic Medieval look, the castle’s dark mahogany interior filling your surroundings with a sense of regality.
Turning the faucet on, you stripped off your gown and waited with barely any clothes as the tub filled itself with water. You looked for your favorite bath bomb, a crimson-colored sphere that had fragrance resembling that of a wilted flower. Whatever this wilted flower was isn’t close to your favorite flowers of all time (you loved collecting flowers), but its smell still gave you the satisfaction you so needed for sheer relaxation.
Once the tub was full, you dipped your body as the bath bomb slowly dissolved into the water, leaving a blood red color. You sighed in relief as you entered the tub bare naked, contemplating your future as you wallowed in pure tranquility. You slowly felt yourself lose consciousness, unmindful of your surroundings as the door to the bathroom was still wide open. You were wide open.
In the exterior of the palace was a fight between Griffith and three royal guards. Griffith dashed forward, aiming for a swift kick to hit the crotch of one guard. This led to the guard falling to the ground while Griffith pounced over to stab the guard right in the heart. Ceasing to get up, the two remaining guards grabbed him by the arms, making Griffith unable to resist. Griffith drops his sword, and as a last resort, spits on one of the guards’ faces to create a sense of distraction. Causing one of the guards to shrug and flinch, Griffith took advantage of the guard’s weakening grip as he elbowed the guard to the face. Quickly picking up his sword, he managed to deliver a slice through the cheek of the other guard, totally knocking off the guard’s helmet.
“Griffith!” Rickert yelled, getting off his horse and running towards the bewitching young man who was determined enough to enter your castle.
The sword fight went on for about ten minutes or more, this time with Rickert joining in. The fight continued to ensue, the noise of swords slashing against each other. The noise echoed through the hallways as there was no one else in sight.
Trapping the remaining two guards by wrapping their arms around their necks, Rickert and Griffith strangled the guards altogether, restricting airflow to enter their windpipe. It wasn’t long before the guards lost consciousness as they were freed, dropping down to the floor as if they were lifeless bodies.
Rickert panted hard, calling out Griffith’s name one more time. “Griffith….Let’s head back to the camp!”
“You might as well leave, Rickert. There may be more guards awaiting our presence and I don’t want to risk getting my comrades hurt.” Griffith replied confidently.
“Ugh, if you say so….” Rickert huffed in annoyance, following Griffith’s orders as he fled from the palace.
Griffith preyed his way into the entrance of the palace by swiftly lockpicking the doors with his sword’s tip. It was strange how the security of the palace was neglected especially at a time like this, a time where a big event was to be held with regards to the development of Midland.
Tumblr media
Entering the palace was…quite the strange, yet self-gratifying experience for Griffith. He certainly wasn’t used to the sophisticated look of the interior where black and gold dominated the scene. The architecture was far more impressive than the usual camps where he and his comrades slept and lived in.
But, in a way, this experience of visiting the palace only reminded him further of his dream. The closer his footsteps were as he walked up the stairs, the closer he was to achieving his dream. This was his plan. It was all a part of his devious plan.
You woke up from the bath, feeling refreshed as opposed to minutes ago. “My, has it really been an hour?” You stood up from the tub and reached for the bath robe, preparing yourself for bed.
Exiting the bathroom, you felt an eerie cold breeze blow through your hair. Was it the wind?
The lightning outside struck harder than expected, a flash of white light overtaking your vision. In that moment, you made sense of what seemed to be a silhouette of some sort…..a silhouette that belonged to a rather familiar young man you constantly kept out of your thoughts.
From behind, the charming young man spoke.
“Princess.”
You froze dead in your tracks, not knowing what to say, act, or think at that given time frame. All you could picture in your mind was the way he emphasized the word “princess” in such an elegant, smug, confident, yet vulgar tone.
No. No. No. Don’t look back. Try to picture that all this was just a dream by closing your eyes and count to three.
One. Two. Three.
No changes.
It was dark before you even knew it, the thunderstorm completely overtaking the atmosphere as the man behind you approached by taking five steps closer.
“You’ve been looking quite the buzz today, my lady.”
You slowly turned around to face the young, depraved man before you.
“G-Griffith?”

Introduction to Bathtub Drain Hair Catchers
Keeping your Drain Buddy Ultra Flo clear is essential for maintaining proper drainage and preventing plumbing issues. One of the most common culprits for clogged drains is hair. As it goes down the drain during showers or baths, it can accumulate over time, leading to slow drainage and eventually complete blockages.
Understanding How Hair Causes Clogs
Hair, particularly long strands, has a tendency to cling to other debris and form clogs in drains. It can wrap around pipes, catch on rough edges, and accumulate in bends, gradually restricting water flow.
Benefits of Using Bathtub Drain Hair Catchers
Installing a bathtub drain hair catcher can help prevent hair from entering the drain and causing clogs. By trapping hair before it reaches the pipes, these devices can significantly reduce the frequency of drain blockages and the need for costly plumbing repairs.
Types of Bathtub Drain Hair Catchers
There are several types of bathtub drain hair catchers available on the market, including mesh strainers, silicone traps, and basket catchers. Each type has its own advantages and considerations, such as ease of cleaning and compatibility with different drain types.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Hair Catcher
When selecting a bathtub drain hair catcher, it's important to consider factors such as compatibility with your drain type, durability, and ease of cleaning. Look for a hair catcher that fits securely in your drain and is made from durable materials that can withstand regular use.
How to Install a Bathtub Drain Hair Catcher
Installing a bathtub drain hair catcher is a simple process that can be done in just a few minutes. Start by removing any existing debris from the drain, then insert the hair catcher according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure it fits securely and doesn't impede water flow.
Tips for Maintaining Bathtub Drain Hair Catchers
To keep your bathtub drain hair catcher working effectively, it's important to clean it regularly and remove any trapped hair and debris. Depending on the type of hair catcher you have, this may involve rinsing it under running water or removing and cleaning the basket or trap.
DIY Methods for Unclogging Drains
In addition to using a bathtub drain hair catcher, there are several DIY methods you can try to unclog drains. These include using a plunger, a drain snake, or natural remedies such as baking soda and vinegar to dissolve hair and other debris.
Alternatives to Bathtub Drain Hair Catchers
If a bathtub drain hair catcher isn't suitable for your needs, there are alternative methods for preventing drain clogs. Drain snakes and chemical drain cleaners can be effective for removing hair and other debris, although they may not be as environmentally friendly as hair catchers.
Eco-Friendly Options for Hair Removal
For those concerned about the environmental impact of traditional drain cleaning methods, there are eco-friendly alternatives available. Biodegradable drain cleaners and eco-friendly drain snakes use natural ingredients to dissolve hair and other organic matter without harming the environment.
Addressing Common Concerns About Bathtub Drain Hair Catchers
Some common concerns about bathtub drain hair catchers include compatibility issues with different drain types and their effectiveness in preventing clogs. While it's important to choose a hair catcher that fits your drain properly, most models are designed to work with a wide range of drain types and sizes.
Conclusion
Bathtub Drain Stopper Sink are an effective and affordable solution for preventing hair clogs and maintaining proper drainage in your bathtub. By trapping hair before it enters the drain, these devices can help prevent costly plumbing issues and keep your drains clear and free-flowing.
FAQs
How often should I clean my bathtub drain hair catcher?
It's a good idea to clean your bathtub drain hair catcher regularly, ideally after each use or at least once a week, to prevent hair and debris from accumulating and causing clogs.
Can bathtub drain hair catchers be used in showers?
Yes, many bathtub drain hair catchers can also be used in showers, as they are designed to fit most standard drain sizes and shapes.
Will a hair catcher affect water flow in my drain?
A properly installed and maintained hair catcher should not significantly affect water flow in your drain. However, it's important to clean the hair catcher regularly to ensure optimal performance.
Are there any maintenance tips to prolong the lifespan of a hair catcher?
To prolong the lifespan of your bathtub drain hair catcher, be sure to clean it regularly, remove any trapped hair and debris, and inspect it for signs of wear or damage.
Can I use multiple hair catchers for better effectiveness?
While using multiple hair catchers may seem like a good idea, it's generally not necessary. One properly installed and maintained hair catcher should be sufficient to prevent clogs in most cases.

The Top 5 Usual Plumbing Issues in Hemet and Their Solutions
Tumblr media
Plumbing problems are an inevitable part of homeownership. Whether you're a first-time homeowner in Hemet or have been living in the area for years, you're bound to encounter plumbing issues at some point. When these problems arise, it's essential to know how to address them, and that's where a skilled plumber in Hemet comes into play. In this blog post, we'll discuss the top five common plumbing problems in Hemet and provide tips on how to fix them.
Major 5 Plumbing Problems and Fixation Problems
Leaky Faucets:
One of the most frequent plumbing issues homeowners face is a leaky faucet. The constant dripping not only wastes water but can also be quite annoying. If you have a leaky faucet in Hemet, you can try fixing it yourself or contact a plumber for professional help.
DIY Fix:
Start by turning off the water supply to the faucet.
Disassemble the faucet by removing the handles and the cartridge.
Examine the cartridge and other components for damage or wear.
Replace any damaged parts and reassemble the faucet.
Turn the water supply back on and check for leaks.
If you're not confident in your DIY skills, or if the problem persists, it's best to call a plumber. They can quickly identify the issue and fix it professionally.
Clogged Drains:
Clogged drains are another common plumbing problem in Hemet. They can occur in the kitchen, bathroom, shower, or bathtub. A clogged drain can lead to slow drainage or even a complete blockage, causing water to back up.
DIY Fix:
Use a plunger to create a seal around the drain and then push and pull to dislodge the clog.
Pour boiling water down the drain to help dissolve any grease or soap residue.
Try using a mixture of baking soda and vinegar to break down the clog.
If these methods don't work, consider using a drain snake to physically remove the obstruction.
If your attempts to clear the clog aren't successful, it's time to call a plumber in Hemet. They have the necessary tools and expertise to deal with stubborn clogs.
Running Toilets:
A running toilet is not only wasteful but can also be a costly problem if left unaddressed. It's one of the most common plumbing issues in Hemet and can result in a higher water bill.
DIY Fix:
Open the toilet tank and inspect the flapper, chain, and float.
Adjust the chain to ensure the flapper seals properly.
If the flapper is damaged, replace it with a new one.
Check the float; it should be at the right level to stop the water from running.
If you can't fix the running toilet on your own, it's a good idea to hire a plumber. They can identify any underlying issues causing the problem and provide a lasting solution.
Low Water Pressure:
Low water pressure can be quite frustrating, making tasks like showering and washing dishes difficult. This issue can stem from a variety of sources, such as mineral buildup in pipes, a partially closed shutoff valve, or a water supply problem.
DIY Fix:
Check all the faucets in your home to determine if the low water pressure is isolated to one fixture or affects the whole house.
If it's limited to one fixture, disassemble the faucet and clean or replace the aerator.
Inspect the shutoff valve near the affected fixture to ensure it's fully open.
If low water pressure affects the entire house, it could be due to a larger issue, and it's best to contact a plumber in Hemet.
A professional plumber can diagnose the cause of low water pressure and recommend the appropriate solution, which may involve pipe cleaning or replacement.
Water Heater Problems:
Water heaters are essential for hot showers, clean dishes, and warm baths. When they malfunction, it can disrupt your daily routine. Common water heater issues include leaks, lack of hot water, or strange noises.
DIY Fix:
If you notice a leak, turn off the power supply and water, and contact a plumber immediately.
For insufficient hot water, check the thermostat settings and the water heater's capacity to ensure it meets your household's needs.
If you hear strange noises, it could be sediment buildup. Flushing the tank can help, but it's a task best left to a professional.
For any water heater issue, especially those involving gas connections or electrical components, it's safer to enlist the help of a plumber who specializes in water heater repair and maintenance.

Can i request an Arthur/sadistic female reader please?i really want to see him all messed up because of...you know🥺
(btw, pls check out the requester's art. her arthur content is 😩👌)
[Oneshot]: In which you still don't know how to tie an overhand knot
[Rating]: Explicit
[Note]: this is so fucking horny that i feel i have to apologize in advance. unedited and a little rough around the edges, feel free to point out errors or give criticism
———
“Huh,” you muse aloud. “Looks like the gallery’s putting up a new exhibition this weekend.”
With one hand, you spread the newspaper across the bed and skip to page three. With the other, you continue to stroke Arthur’s cock, twisting your wrist a little to smooth your palm against its dripping tip. The man himself groans as you touch him, and the frame of his body trembles beneath where you’ve straddled yourself over his thighs.
His breaths are quickening again. “Please,” Arthur rasps, his voice hoarse with exertion and desperation alike. You indulge him with another slow, teasing pump of your fist as you continue to pick through the St Denis Tribune, humming thoughtfully as you peruse the newspaper’s Arts and Entertainment section.
“I’m beggin’ you, girl.” He sounds as though he’s teetering on the very edge of agony and ecstasy, and venturing perilously close to the latter. “C’mon. Please.”
“Looks like it’s mostly Impressionists this time. Let’s see here… a selection of Seurats and Monets… a couple Renoirs… oh, some Degas too?” With a mild expression that belies the depth of torture you’ve been putting him through, you slow your hand to a stop. He makes a choked, unhappy noise in the back of his throat that you heartily ignore. “That’s pretty bold of them, considering the reception they gave that Chatenay fellow you told me about.”
Growling, Arthur starts fumbling with the (admittedly badly tied) restraints securing his arms behind his back, twisting his wrists in an attempt to find a loose end.
“Easy there.” You run the pad of your thumb along the ridge delineating the head of his cock, slicking against the precum beaded at its tip. “I’ll give you what you want soon enough.”
“Been hearin’ you say that for almost half an hour now,” he replies, glaring. “You enjoyin’ yourself?”
“Immensely.”
“Better savor it while you can, because I promise you — I’m gonna remember this the next time I get you beneath me.”
You laugh. “Oh yeah? What‘re you gonna do then?”
“Untie me and I’ll show you,” he says.
“No,” you reply with a beatific smile.
He narrows his eyes and lowers his voice to something smooth and dangerous: the sort of tone you’ve known him to use for threats he actually intends to follow through on. “When it’s my turn,” he says. “I ain’t gonna tie you up. Won’t need to. Because with you, all I need is my hands.”
A shiver runs down your spine. The man’s wrists may be bound, but you’re still very much at his mercy. In all actuality, your authority here amounts to only a length of rope and his own good humor.
You let out a soft, involuntary whimper at the very thought of it.
“Gonna pin you down when I fuck you,” he continues. He’s smirking now, clearly enjoying the demonstrable effect his words have on you. “Lay you down on your stomach and keep you under me, where you belong.”
You’re half-tempted to loose the rope and let him do just that. Instead, you grab the hem of your shift with both hands and pull the garment over your head in a single fluid motion. It’s 1899, after all. High time for a woman to take charge of her own pleasure.
The dim glow of the oil lamp bathes your bare skin in a wash of gold and amber as you settle yourself against him, pressing the wet line of your slit along the length of his cock. “Go on,” you tell him. “What else?”
Arthur swallows hard and licks his lips, then draws in a sharp intake of breath as you roll your hips forward — just a brief stir of movement, but more than enough to make him twitch beneath you. “Drive you to the brink the same way you’re doin’ to me now,” he says weakly. “Take my time with you, nice and slow. Make you really beg for it.”
“Mm-hmm.” Another roll of your hips, this time with just enough pressure to grant him a touch of warmth.
Finally, he breaks. And it’s truly a sight to behold: Arthur Morgan, a man who you’d thought would break your spine like a toothpick the first time you’d met, openly begging for the simple privilege of being allowed between your thighs.
“God, please,” he groans. “You can’t do this to me. Can’t let me feel how wet you are and just leave me like this.”
“Of course I can.” You relent. “But I won’t. So be a good boy and stay still for me, alright?”
His cock weighs heavy in your hand as you guide him between your thighs. Arthur lets out a harsh gasp and instinctively thrusts upwards — but you immediately withdraw, and he finds nothing but the cruel emptiness of absence waiting to receive him.
“Thought I told you to stay still,” you repeat sternly.
He nods with the frantic desperation of a badly-trained dog begging for a meal. Hungry and eager, but standing to attention with as much obedience he can muster. Which isn’t much, even on the best of days, but he is trying. And for that, he deserves something in return.
You take him in slowly, both out of principle and necessity. Just a taste of him first, then the gradual descent, a long and drawn out consumption that he has barely the means to endure.
His gaze still hasn’t left you. There is an intensity in it that once might have frightened you, an azure bright as broken glass and twice as sharp. The purity of emotion in them strikes you to the bone, makes your throat tighten and your dominance waver — there is a depth of devotion there that borders on the absolute.
When you move against him, he squeezes his eyes shut against the sheer force of sensation that floods through. Arthur makes a low, pained noise in the back of his throat and confesses, “I ain’t gonna last long.”
You lean forward and kiss him, then start a slow, rocking motion with your hips that spurs him to whimper your name against your lips, a small cry of warning before you feel the first twitches of his cock. Arthur bucks up once, twice, then shudders beneath you as his seed pulses deep, blooms hot and slick inside your core.
“Goddammit,” he hisses. “Didn’t think I’d— ah, fuck…”
You ride on, grinding through the last, weakening throbs of his orgasm and until he lets out a final, heavy sigh. Arthur regards you with loose-limbed exhaustion, lolling his head against your pillows as he flashes you a drained, weary grin. “Alright,” he says. “Untie me and get up here so I can—”
“No need,” you say brightly, then lift your hips in a brief mockery of release before sheathing him again and sending him reeling into oversensitivity.
Arthur’s eyes roll back in his head. “Jesus fucking Christ,” he gasps, wincing. “What’re you—”
“Too much?”
“Didn’t say that,” he says. His jaw is clenched tight and his voice is faint, but the look on his face is one of stubborn determination.
You test him with another slow, sinuous slide of your hips. This time, he meets you with a shallow thrust of his own. He’s breathing hard, each exhale shivery with exertion. “Keep goin’,” he urges. “I can take it.”
The added lubrication of his come eases the friction of him, soothes the inevitable ache of penetration. You settle for an unhurried, leisurely rhythm that allows you to fully appreciate the slickness of each stroke, the accompanying warmth of his seed still spread through your core.
Arthur’s gaze darts downwards to the base of his shaft, where the drip of his come has begun to pool. “Beautiful,” he murmurs. “Just beautiful.”
He snakes his right arm free from his bonds and abruptly flips you onto your back with a well-timed shove.
“What— how did you…?”
“Sweetheart,” Arthur says, his voice warm and affectionately condescending. “You still can’t tie an overhand knot for shit.”
“But I double-checked this time!”
“Not very well, apparently.” He hitches your thighs around his waist and cages you in beneath him, then lowers his mouth to the slope of your neck. A brief, gentle nip — not hard enough to hurt, but more than enough to convey his renewed authority. “God, but you’re a greedy little thing, ain’t you?” he growls against your skin. “Just one load of my spend ain’t enough?”
“Thought you’d appreciate the challenge, since you’re always so— oh, shit,” you gasp, clutching at his shoulders when he drives himself downwards with a sharp, savage thrust.
“Go on.” Arthur says. He’s panting now, his dark blond hair slicked against his forehead with sweat. “Weren’t you sayin’ somethin’ about me?”
You let out an indecipherable whine that bears only a passing resemblance to human language.
“My poor girl,” he murmurs, low and tender. Arthur cups the side of your face against his palm and traces his thumb over your cheekbone, then presses a chaste kiss to your brow. “Can’t even talk right when I’m fucking her proper.”
He’ll no doubt be insufferably smug about this later, but you can’t quite bring yourself to care, distracted as you are by the view of him rutting against you, his shaft still streaked with his previous release. He’s fucking his own come back into me, you think to yourself, and that thought alone blinds out all else and leaves you blank with pleasure.
Arthur takes you hard and fast. Far rougher than his usual handling, which can sometimes be almost excruciatingly cautious. He kisses you clumsily, then lowers his mouth to the junction of your neck and shoulder, sucking and biting until the first, faint traces of tomorrow’s bruises begin to darken.
And with this, it’s not long before the first delirious ripples of your own orgasm begin to crest.
Every muscle drawn and tensed, dissolving into an inward ache of arousal that spurs you to grip him tight and whimper, eyelids fluttering as you struggle to keep his face in view. With a fierce satisfaction, you savor the sudden weakness in his expression when he feels you contract against him, then his harsh groan and the stutter of his hips as he follows, spilling what seed he has left.
Arthur keeps himself hilted until the very last shivers of exhilaration fade, then pulls away with a reluctance usually reserved for long farewells. The overflow of his come is thick and heavy as it drips from between your thighs, and the look on his face as he beholds it is one of tired appreciation.
Then he flops onto his side, totally spent. “You’re a real demon,” he sighs. “You know that?”
“A real demon would go for round three,” you reply faintly, staring dreamy-eyed up at the ceiling.
Arthur groans at the mere suggestion of it. “I think that’d actually kill me.”
When you curl up against him, he automatically throws an arm over your side, the action at this point an instinct secondary only to breathing, and brushes his mouth over the back of your neck.
As you ebb towards sleep, you murmur as an afterthought, “Didn’t you say you were gonna make me beg?”
He lets out a weary chuckle. “Well,” he says, “There’s always tomorrow.”

Prompt idea: soft winter Jaskier comforting his Witcher after a rough day? 🥔
thank you for the lovely prompt, potato! <3
Geraskier established relationship, there is nakedness but in a non-sexual way, only fluff, 1158 words
read on ao3
--------
“Geralt, what happened?” Jaskier asked.
Geralt stood in the hallway of Kaer Morhen and there was snow and rubble in his hair and on his shoulders.
He had been working on fixing a hole in the roof of the barn but it had started to snow heavily and the weight of it had made the roof collapse. Onto Geralt.
He had been lucky the heavy wooden beam had missed him by a few centimeters, only a pile of snow and rubble had landed on him. He had dug himself out, growled “fuck” and abandoned the work for the day.
“Couldn’t fix the roof of the barn,” he murmured.
“Are you hurt?” Jaskier asked, brows furrowed in concern.
“No,” Geralt said, “just dirty.”
Jaskier smirked quickly but the look of concern returned quickly. He closed the distance and cupped Geralt’s face in his hand and said quietly, “let me help you clean up.”
Geralt closed his eyes for a moment and just enjoyed the light touch.
“You don’t have to,” Geralt said as he opened his eyes a moment later. But Jaskier still smiled at him and lightly stroked his cheekbone with his thumb.
“Let me take care of you, darling,” Jaskier tried again, “like on the path.”
Geralt nodded finally. Honestly, he had only not said yes instantly out of habit. Now that he thought about it, he realized that he had missed this.
Not that he was complaining. Spending time with Jaskier in the winter in Kaer Morhen was wonderful, but there was something special about the moments after a fight when Jaskier took over. When he helped him unbuckle his armor, undress and patch up any injuries and to get clean - when they were lucky in a bathtub of an inn and when they were less fortunate, with soft scraps of cloth and cold water in a clearing in the woods.
Jaskier took his hand and they made their way down, not to Geralt’s room, but to the baths. Jaskier had been delighted to find out that the witchers had hot springs in their cold keep in the mountains and had built a beautiful bathing chamber with a pool where up to ten people could sit comfortably emerged in the warm water.
There was an area for undressing with a wooden bench and shelves for the clothes. Jaskier helped Geralt out of his jacket and shirt and was humming quietly. Geralt stayed silent and just enjoyed the attention and soft touches of his bard.
“Now sit down, love,” Jaskier said to his witcher and kneeled down in front of him. Slowly he removed Geralt’s boots and socks and when the witcher stood up once more, his pants and underpants. Jaskier undressed himself quickly too.
Then he took Geralt by the hand once more and they made their way further into the bathing chamber. It was always comfortably warm in there and smelled pleasantly of bathing salts and expensive soap from Toussaint.
Jaskier led Geralt to a wooden stool that stood over a drain in the floor and gestured for him to sit down. He fetched a bucket, filled it with warm water and then placed it on the floor next to the witcher.
“Let’s remove the worst of the dirt before you go into the pool,” he said softly as he stood behind Geralt. He placed his hands on the witcher’s head and was rewarded with a quiet humm.
Carefully he losend and removed the leather band that held the white hair in a bun on Geralt’s head. Then he brushed his fingers through the hair to let it down. Small bits of rubble fell to the floor.
Geralt felt his shoulders relax and could finally let go of the tension in his jaw. He leaned back against Jaskier, not with his full weight, just so he could feel the bard’s soft belly against his back.
He hadn’t realized how stressed and tense he had been. The last few days had been quite stressful. He had tired himself out training with Vesemir, Lambert and Eskel but there had been some tension left that now dissolved under Jaskier’s caring touch.
There was something special about Jaskier’s fingers in his hair, his quiet humming and the way he always seemed to know what Geralt needed in that moment - massaging sore muscles in his shoulders or fingers gently scraping his scalp.
A moment later Jaskier squeezed his shoulder and said, “lean forward for a moment.”
He walked over to the shelf and retrieved a bowl the size of his hand and a bit of soap.
“Now lean your head back a bit,” he said and let his hands run through Geralt’s white hair once more. Jaskier leaned down and filled the bowl with water and let it run through Geralt’s hair, careful not to get any in his eyes.
“Is this okay?” he asked, “not too hot or too cold?”
“Perfect,” Geralt murmured. Jaskier took the soap in his hands and began to wash the witcher’s hair. He massaged the soap in the white strands from Geralt’s head to the ends. When everything was soaped to Jaskier’s satisfaction he rinsed it out till the hair was clean and as white as it was supposed to be.
“You can get in the pool now,” Jaskier said a moment later, lightly squeezing his shoulder, “I’ll be with you in a minute.” He cleaned up and brought the bowl and soap back to the shelf and heard a small splash as Geralt slipped into the pool.
Jaskier smiled as he heard a content sigh from Geralt. He walked over and slid in the pool himself. It was too small to swim, so he stood in the warm water for a moment before he made the few steps to stand in front of Geralt. He looked him over closely.
“You missed this,” Jaskier said after a moment, “didn’t you?”
Geralt narrowed his eyes in confusion and said, “the bathing chamber?”
Jaskier chuckled and made another step towards him.
“No, silly,” he said smiling, “me taking care of you after a fight.”
With a small smile that was only for Jaskier Geralt nodded barely visible.
“I missed it too,” Jaskier said, “even if you only fought a collapsing roof.”
Geralt smiled wider at that, reached out to him and said, “come here.”
Jaskier let himself get pulled to his witcher and in his lap. Geralt wrapped his arm around Jaskier’s middle and hugged him close. Over the last few weeks Jaskier had gained a bit of weight, and Geralt was enjoying the softness of Jaskier’s body against his toned one.
He buried his face in his neck and sighed contentedly.
Jaskier put his arms around Geralt’s neck and leaned his head on Geralt’s and whispered, “I love you.”
Geralt mumbled, “I love you too.”
They sat like this for a while, just enjoying each other and the warmth of the water that surrounded them.

Prompt no. 18 from this list
“Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you.”
“Sorry, just give me a minute, babe. I need to recalibrate the interface I’m using…”
Gavin’s voice trailed off. The only sound in the room was from the clacking of his keyboard, his fingers flying across the keys.
Nines tried his best to take his mind off his situation. Immobile in bed… with the very real possibility that it could be permanent.
It was a just a software update… just another afternoon nap… but now he had no idea whether he’d ever move again.
Noticing his stress levels spiking, he focused on Gavin. The crease of his brows… the old scar across his nose… the determined set of his jaw as he scrubbed through lines and lines of code to find the root of the problem.
Gavin.
Lover. Friend. Saviour.
The man he depended on for everything, including his continued existence.
Nines silently thanked whichever force of nature had brought him into the safety and sanctity of Gavin’s embrace. RA9 or God or the laws of physics that dictated where atoms would end up from the beginning of time.
Not all androids were as lucky as he was.
After the Revolution, the digital giant known as Cyberlife had been dissolved under political pressure from New Jericho and its vehement supporters. Android production ceased, Cyberlife’s assets were stripped and its R&D departments were spun off into smaller, more benign companies.
People were elated in the beginning… and then they realised there was no one around to maintain and service the androids that now comprised 30% of American citizenry. Private technicians had booming business, but they were eventually overwhelmed.
The worst of it was the software.
The patches, the bug fixes, the security.
No single company was able to do it by themselves and individuals realised they were pretty much on their own. Human husbands and wives and girlfriends and brothers and pretty much everyone scrambled to learn how to take care of beloved androids on their own.
Gavin was one of the most capable ones. He knew how to do most of the mechanical work and quickly taught himself the software and systems elements. When Nines asked him how he was so proficient… whether he learnt any of it in college… he wouldn’t respond directly. The closest Nines had gotten to an answer was a grumbled “s what happens when you share a room for fifteen years with the nerdy prick that started all this trouble in the first place”
It was initially tough on the both of them… and expensive… as they figured out how to do things by trial… but Gavin was confident and adamant that he wouldn’t let Nines down. He quickly reached a steady state, even managing to get a maintenance routine in place.
But he couldn’t be perfect.
And there were things he couldn’t control.
Androids were the most complicated cyberphysical systems on the planet. Anything and everything could go wrong at any time…
And it had… during a major OS update.
“Babe, can you hear me?”
Nines’ LED cycled yellow once and went back to red.
Gavin held one of the limp hands in his own.
“Can you feel this?”
The LED spun again.
“Great. And I’m pretty sure you can see me, I know that look in your eyes, babydoll. Hmm… okay, that means all the sensors and IOT device connections are fineee…”
The musing continued as Gavin set aside the laptop and scooted closer to Nines. A gentle hand came up to tilt the android’s face from side to side.
“But you can’t talk…”
“AAAAAAAAAA”
“Wow. Never make that noise in the bedroom again. Hmm… Okay, this means your vocal chords are fine but you can’t move your mouth. Huh.. well… you can’t seem to move anything… not that different from your usual participation levels in bed then. Not to worry.”
The only thing Nines could do was glare and Gavin seemed relieved that even that was possible. He patted the android’s cheek.
“I’ll check your motor actuation and control. Simple modules. I should be able to see anything strange right away.”
Gavin resumed scrolling through the chunks of code and running searches for common errors. But minutes passed… and turned into an hour… and the hour, doubled, tripled.
But Gavin was undeterred. He had to be. Giving up was not an option. Plus, years of being a dedicated police officer had wiped out any fears of hard work and failure… he would scroll all night if it came to that.
A notification popped up on the screen.
RK900 #313 248 317 - 87: Sweetheart, you’ve been trying for hours. Take a break.
Gavin turned to his side. Nines could detect the worry and agitation behind the facade of lighthearted calm.
“I know right. It’s not fair. You’ve been chilling this whole time I’ve been working. Tsk tsk.”
RK900 #313 248 317 - 87: I’m serious, Gavin. Stop. Take a break for today. Call someone. You can try again tomorrow morning.
“Nines, you’re not a work assignment. I can’t take a break from you. You can get up and close this laptop for me.”
A few more hours passed. Frowning, Gavin climbed under the covers with Nines and began troubleshooting and testing all other modules too. It was a massive undertaking, but he’d be damned if he didn’t do it.
RK900 #313 248 317 - 87: Know when to give up on a lost cause.
It was nearly two in the morning when that message popped up. Gavin’s eyes were red from all the screen time, but his fighting spirit had not flagged. If anything, he felt close to the finish line. Having gone through nearly the entirety of his lover’s system architecture, there were only a few stones left unturned. He’d identify the problem, win half the battle and then the solution would flow from there. It always did. They’d be fine.
He turned to tell Nines precisely that and balked at the tears staining the android’s perfect face.
“Hey…”
Gavin leaned over his partner and wiped the tears away.
“Hey… shhh… don’t… don’t worry, I’ll take care of you…”
RK900 #313 248 317 - 87: I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry I’m putting you through all this. Things can’t go on like this. I’m such a liability. Emotionally, physically, financially! You can’t keep doing this for me, Gavin.
Gavin placed the laptop on the bedside table and slipped deeper under the covers, wrapping himself around Nines’ still form.
“It’s a good thing you can’t speak right now, cause you’re talking some major bullshit, baby. You are going to be FINE. I will take care of you, like always, like I promised.
You are not a liability. You are my man. I signed up for this. If you were human and sick and I dunno, needed a kidney or something, I’d simply give it to you. You and I are bound like that. For life.
So quit bitching, let me do my thing, and when you’re back… you know how to thank me.”
He smiled genuinely as he said that, stroking the android’s skin and trying to calm him down. When the speed of the LED cycles came down and the colour stabilised at a warm amber, Gavin kissed the frozen lips and gave Nines one last cuddle before returning to his computer.
Sunrise began to streak across the dark sky by the time the critical error was identified. Gavin sighed deeply as he pulled up the faulty synchronisation that had jammed the hundreds of motors and drives throughout Nines’ body.
There was actually nothing much to be said for the root cause of the failed execution loop. Just improper methods written for some of the new hardware they had installed the previous week.
That’s what they got for using uncertified biocomponents and unlicensed third party software bought off the seedier parts of the internet. Some incompatibility somewhere would inevitably trip them up. Gavin was usually able to see such trouble before it found them… but even he couldn’t be perfect.
He stretched and cracked his spine and wiggled his fingers before plunging into rewriting the problematic section. He would sleep like a log after this… but first, he had to sprint to the finish line.
And he did.
At 7AM, Gavin finally copied the clean code into the compiler and hit execute. After a brief reinitialisation, Nines blinked awake. He raised his hands tentatively. As soon as he realised full functionality had been restored, he sat up and threw himself at Gavin, smothering the exhausted human in a giant hug.
Gavin hugged back, fighting to keep his emotions at bay.
“All… all good?”
“You saved my life. Again.”
“I’ll do it a thousand times more if I need to.”
“I thought I was done for.”
“Don’t be dramatic. It was just some bad code.”
“I could have been stuck like that forever. Never moving, never talking. Just lying there till my charge drains out. That could have been the end for us, and frankly, I was prepared for that eventuality. You should be too.”
“Never.”
“I don’t doubt your abilities, sweetheart, but we are painfully limited by our resources. There’s things in this world that only Cyberlife can do and they’re never coming back. We have to make our peace with that. Pulling all-nighters just to keep me alive… it’s not sustainable.”
“Hey it’s not like this happens all the time, Nines. I get that this was really scary, but it’s not always like this… so please don’t tell me whether things are sustainable. I will always fight for you. End of discussion.”
Nines didn’t respond and just rested his head on Gavin’s shoulder. His steel blue eyes were fixed on the pair of birds fluttering outside their bedroom window. They sat intertwined like that on the bed for a while. Now that he could, Nines didn’t seem to want to stop holding his partner. The birds landed on the window sill, chirping away and enjoying the morning breeze.
“They’re really quite sweet, aren’t they? The two of them are always here in the morning. I should build them a little bath in our garden.”
“They’re mates.”
“Huh. Just like us.”
“You know… it’s just a myth, what they say… that birds die when their mates do.”
“What?”
“Most species will go through a grieving period, but after that they will begin courtship again.”
“What the phck are you on about? No one’s dying and no one’s beginning courtship again. Nines, I’d move heaven and earth before anything like that happens.
Besides, if I really, really couldn’t get your body to work, worst case scenario, I’d just transfer you to a mobile device. Carry you around like a voice in my head… like my conscience… I promise you that nothing can keep us apart.”
It wasn’t all that easy to convince Nines, and Gavin wasn’t about to try. It had been an ordeal for the both of them. It wasn’t the first time, and it might not be the last. But for the time being, they had emerged, and they had each other, and that was all that mattered.
Yawning, Gavin lay back among the mussed sheets and pulled Nines with him. Birdsong and the muted whir of thirium pump compressions lulled him into a dreamless sleep.

Forest Retreat
Summary: Remus Lupin finds himself in a forest, in the middle of piss-nowhere after a full moon, but there’s a friendly (unknown) face that gives him a hand for healing.
Pairing: Remus Lupin x Male Reader
Key: (Y/N)- your name, (L/N)- last name, (E/C)- eye colour, (H/C)- hair colour, (Y/H)- your house.
Word Count: 4714
A/N: been a whiLe, huh? heLlo. this is a BIG boy of fanfic, I hope you enjoy.
His vision slowly returned as he looked at his own hands… Blood. Red. Shiny. Thick. If he even glanced for two seconds longer he would’ve realised it was his own, but he was too concerned that he had hurt someone.
“Hello?! Is someone there? Yes! I see you, sir! Do you need help?” He saw a blurry figure approaching him slowly, wary in their steps, but persistent. He instinctively pushed himself back and away from the blurry person.
“I’m not gonna hurt you! I promise” They shouted towards him or maybe just said, Remus couldn’t tell the volume of the noise with his head and heart pounding at an alarming rate.
He kept backing away from the ever approaching figure, he didn’t know if it was his imagination and exhausted eyes, but the figure just didn’t seem to get closer or further and though he had been conscious for some time, his eyes were still blurry.
“Oh my stars. Are you okay?! Oh fucking hell- sir?! Are you-“ Before the blurry face could question him further, Remus realised he was crying, rather uncontrollably. He never has full control even after being conscious, his emotions controlled him for right now.
“IS SOMEONE HURT?! IS ANYONE DEAD?! YOU HAVE TO TELL ME?!” He shouted desperately at the person, laying his head in his hands as he sobbed further.
“You seem to be hurt.” They said blankly, inspecting him cautiously. He reached on to Remus’s ankle which appeared to be broken, but he flinched away.
“No- fuck. Has anyone been reported as injured or dead or anything?” He begged for an answer, the smell of the blood on his hands making him feel nauseous.
“I don't think so. There isn’t a person besides me for miles. How did you get here?” His eyes seemed to dry now, the person standing above him now in view, a man in simple fall attire and a basket filled with forest berries.
“I don’t know.” He wasn’t lying… completely. He knew in a way how he got here, but he didn’t know where here was. The man looked him up and down before taking off his coat, wrapping around Remus’s shivering body.
“You must be freezing. Can you walk?” He asked softly as he tried to help the other man up, but Remus just buckled under his own weight. He silently cursed himself, a broken ankle most likely maybe worse. He hoped not worse.
“My cottage isn’t far, here” He pulled Remus’s arm over his shoulder and slowly walked towards more trees, he watched as the (H/C) haired man pointed and a small arrow flew into the sky indicating a point. Remus felt a hinge of confusion.
“What if I had been a muggle?” He softly yet sternly, limping slightly as they maneuvered through the forest.
“For one, you wouldn’t be saying muggle and two this is wizarding lands.” He replied, shifting his weight as he helped Remus overcome a few large rocks in the way.
“Fair enough.” Remus stared up at the dark green arrow against the light grey sky. He felt a bit calmer, the adrenaline in his veins fizzling out slowly, but surely.
They walked arm in arm silently, the stranger mumbling to himself as the trees seemed to become less and less dense. He saw the odd rusted fence post as they walked closer and closer to the dark arrow in the sky.
“Are you sure no one has been hurt.” Remus repeated at him as he held the man for dear life.
“I’m almost 100% sure, as I said. No one for miles.”
“Okay.” He mumbled as he limped towards the arrow, an arm securely placed on his shoulder.
They were now face or face with a small cottage encased in plants, orange tinted vines growing from walls and small flowers giving their last bloom of the season barely holding on, as the cold breeze brushing Remus’s exposed legs, he shivered.
“Come on” The man led him inside where he was instantly hit with the smell of pumpkin pie and tea through the windows. They were now at the foot of the door where a gorgeous wreath of dried flowers and leaves hung right where the knocker sat, he opened the door and helped Remus sit on one of the small stools in the foyer as he hurried up a small covered staircase.
He looked around at the small cottage, the decor was… interesting to say the least. Small animal figures perched on shelves clashing with band posters and (Y/H) flags. The stranger had gone to Hogwarts, at least he knew one thing. Though he doesn’t remember his face, he heard footsteps in the corner of his hearing.
“Here let me help you, my bathroom is disappointingly on the second floor.” He once again grabbed Remus by the arm helping him navigate the winding staircase revealing a small bedroom and connected bathroom on the floor. He let Remus sit on the toilet as he pulled a small box out of a medicine cabinet.
“I’m no good at healing magic. Sorry.” He apologised again, unpacking the small first aid kit and starting to treat his wounds which Remus finally noticed. His stomach churned at the sight, though he’d seen himself post-moon time and time again, it still made him a little queasy to see the gashes.
He watched the strange man dub alcohol all over his wounds in silence, it was nice. It had been awhile since he saw another person after a transformation.
“All done, here’s a towel. Take a shower and I can patch you up more securely, okay?” He said, handing Remus a soft fluffy white towel that wafted scents of sweet flower body gel, before he left.
“Thank you.” He whispered meekly in response, he turned around and shot Remus a sweet smile which made his heart do a little dive.
“No worries, give a shout when you’re done” He smiled softly once again and closed the door behind him, leaving Remus to his thoughts.
He looked down and for the first time he realised he was naked. He was bare arsed in front of a stranger, his face flushed. He was naked, bloody and in a stranger’s home. He didn’t know the man’s name. Why had it only occurred to him now? He looked at the foreign bathroom, seeing if he could find where the mirror was. It didn’t seem to be in the places you’d think it would be. He ignored it for now stepping into the already drawn bath.
Remus felt the warmth soothe his, now very apparent, sore muscles, he sighed in the short lived content he felt. It was rare for him to feel even marginally safe in a home, not since… He didn’t want to think about it.
“You doing okay in there? There’s some soaps and things just behind the head rest!”” He heard his voice through the door, he opened his eyes and looked behind him. Sure enough there were some different shaped bottles and a small worn bar of soap.
“Yes, thank you” He shouted back through the door. Maybe for once in his life he shouldn’t think, so he didn’t. He sunk into the warm bath water letting it get to his neck as he soaked in the pleasure. He was sure the water was charmed, never leaving the perfect temperature he liked. He slowly started to wash the blood off his body, it just seemed to dissolve in the water as he lathered the sweet smelling body wash onto himself. It stung where his wounds were so he tried his best to avoid them with the small embroidered washcloth.
“I’ll be downstairs, there’s some clothing in front of the door. I hope they fit” He heard the hurried footsteps down the stairs as he slowly scrubbed the dried blood from his hair as well. Soon he could feel his skin pruning and decided it was time to get up.
He pulled himself out of the bath and drained the water, watching it swirl down. Remus grabbed the soft towel and dried himself slowly, trying to keep off his ankle.
The tired man limped to the door and picked up the pile of clothing on the floor, a simple pair of tartan pyjamas and a grey sweater. He took the new clothing and retreated back into the room he came from. They looked a little big for him, but he put them on anyway. He looked down at himself, they were definitely too big, the legs a little long for his own and the shirt hanging off of him comfortably.
Remus limped out of the small bathroom and into the bedroom, his heart stopped, on the large bed sat a large shaggy black dog. They stared at each other intensely. The dog looked rather unbothered that he was there, merely expressing a sniff into the air and a head tilt. Remus didn’t move until he heard another set of running footsteps again.
“Oh you’re done, great”
He didn’t say anything, just stared wide eyed towards the big dog. It just stare back at him with underwhelming curiosity.
“I see you’ve met Onyx, don’t be too afraid. He’s a big softie” He moved towards the dog, scruffing his ears and giving him a kiss on the forehead. Of course Remus knew it wasn’t him, he knew that. He simply nodded as he watched him give Onyx another kiss.
“Come on, then. Let’s get some food in ya” He moved back to Remus’s side, pulling his arm over his shoulder for support. They struggled immensely trying to get Remus back down the stairs, but managed as he limped slowly toward the kitchen.
Remus sat at the small round kitchen table, looking out of the window nook. It was so peaceful here he thought. It would be lovely to live in a place like this away from the city he hated so much.
“Sorry I don’t have much right now, bad hunting season” He sighed and fished out a box of cereal from the cupboard and some milk out of a fridge.
“How do you have electricity here?”
“Yep. outside of magic borders” He said as he prepared a large bowl of cereal for him, he realised how hungry he was. He felt himself drool a little at the promise of food as the man set the bowl and spoon in front of him.
“Thank you.”
He watched him stretch towards a higher shelf, his shirt lifting up. His skin in full view making Remus stare intently before averting his eyes to the cereal, stuffing his face to distract himself from it. He heard the rattle of what he assumed was dog food being poured into a bowl.
“Onyx come down!” He called for the shaggy dog and Remus heard it barrel down the winding staircase, immediately scruffing down the newly prepared bowl of food in front of him.
The stranger put a small metal kettle onto the stove, he watched intently, trying to discern any red flags from his situation. There were definitely a few as far as he could see, stranger in the empty woods of Yorkshire being nice to him and a large black dog who looked rather terrifying. The unnamed man (so far) was searching through the small first aid box, trying to find anything more secure for Remus. He healed fast, but it was helpful.
“Ah! Here it is” He said, pulling out various bandages and bandaids. He hummed in satisfaction as he went to sit in front of Remus again, patching his cuts and bruises with various muggle ointments.
“I’m sorry.” Remus apologised again as he watched the man wipe his brow, he didn’t need to squat the entire time, Remus thought. It was much more inconvenient than just sitting. The man looked up at him and shook his head dismissing his apology, he looked like he was going to say something, but shook his head again continuing to treat his wounds.
“Here” He pulled out a small stool for Remus to put his foot on, it was already feeling better if he was honest, but still hurt like hell.
Remus looked down as the man wrapped the bandage around his ankle carefully, trying not to hurt him further.
“You’re lucky I found you, this could’ve gotten way worse if you stayed out there” He looked up, trying to make conversation to evade the awkward silence between them. Remus didn’t know what to say really as he looked back to his ankle wrapping another length of cloth around it.
“What’s your name?” Remus enquired, looking a little pale and distant. He was half listening and felt weird not having a name to the face in front of him. His ankle hurt like hell, but watching the man slowly patch him up brought a flush to his face. It was rather reminiscent of the past, he thought.
“(Y/N) (L/N)” He answered just as absentmindedly as Remus’s question, looking very focused on his wrapping.
“Remus Lupin.” He said as well, feeling weird that he couldn’t shake his hand at least. (Y/n)’s head perked up slightly as he heard Remus’s name.
“Moony then?” He said looking up, an apprehensive gaze in his (E/C) eyes. He unintentionally twitched at the mention of his nickname.
“What?” He choked out abruptly, his foot moving from the stool in shock. He immediately winced at the pain, (Y/N) quickly and carefully setting the stool back up from where it fell.
“You went to Hogwarts with those marauders kids? You were one of them, I’ve heard them say that. Sorry if I’m overstepping.”
“It’s alright, just been awhile since I’ve heard that.” He chuckled nervously looking away from him for a moment, ignoring the last part. A silence settled between them before he felt (Y/N) tuck the bandage into itself, getting up and moving away after.
They both said nothing as (Y/N) packed up the first aid kit, putting it back in its place. The whistling of the kettle the only sound left in the room as (Y/N) pulled it off. He made tea for the two of them. The silence felt deafening to Remus, uncomfortable.
“Uh- when did you graduate?” He stammered out, nervously fidgeting with a loose thread on the tartan pants. He didn’t dare look up as he heard (Y/N) set the teat in front of them.
“A year or two after you I think.” He said sitting across him “Sugar?” He said, taking one of the cups.
“Three.” Was all he could say, he was out of questions as he looked up seeing the man plup 3 cubes of sugar into the tea. Silence again as Remus poured milk into his tea, mixing the lot. He could hear Onyx lapping up water below as he sipped.
“What happened?” (Y/N) suddenly asked, looking at him. He looked away immediately, his eyes planted to the ground as his knuckles grew white around the mug.
“I’m not sure.” He lied.
He just nodded and sipped his tea again. Remus facepalmed mentally, he couldn’t think of a single convincing lie? Not even one? Idiot, he thought. If he wasn’t sitting in someone’s home he may have just smacked himself for this one. “No more questions. Good deal?” He looked up at when (Y/N) looked up, a small homey smile on his face. Remus chuckled a bit and nodded “Agreed.”
Remus insisted that he could take the next and closest bus back to Yorkshire and be out of (Y/N)’s way, but he insisted Remus stay a few days to heal up. In the end, Remus just nodded and there he was, sitting on (Y/N)’s pullout sofa on a Friday morning with a very sleepy Onyx laying across him. The dog had taken a strange liking to him (Y/N) had said “He’s not usually so friendly, big scaredy-cat when it comes to strangers” He had laughed when he came downstairs the morning after Remus had arrived to see Onyx and Remus as snug as bugs on the small pullout.
“How’s your ankle feeling?” He asked as soon as he saw that Remus was awake, when Remus looked up at him he almost choked. A layer of sweat above his brow, in a tight fitting shirt and a bow draped across his shoulder.
“B-Better.” He stuttered.
“That’s good” He huffed, he seemed a little out of breath, Remus watched his chest inflate and deflate with every exhausted heave.
“Where have you been?” He asked as nonchalantly, switching his gaze back down to the big dog on his lap.
“Checking for tracks. Seeing if I can find what attacked you, I-“ He was interrupted by a frantic coughing sound from Remus.
“I never said I was attacked” He said a little too quickly, heat rising to his face as he quickly shut up again.
“Remus. If there’s something out here I can’t do nothing, it’ll get my chickens and plus I can look like a hero for you”
Remus didn’t say anything the rest of the day, just idly laid around, trying to get off his foot. Not everyone needed to know his business, especially not a stranger. Onyx didn’t come that night, even his dog knew something was up. The fourth day was torturous, no talking, just silence. It felt lonely. Remus felt lonely again, he had pretended to sleep most of the day, ignoring when (Y/N) when he walked in. He seemed to still be looking. He should just tell him. Tell him what really happened, but as brooded in his thoughts.
“I know you’re not asleep, Remus.” He heard (Y/N) behind, he once again pretended not to hear anything.
“Listen then. Whatever attacked you or didn’t attack you is not really my business, but it happened near my home and I’d just like to know if I’m in danger or not. That’s it.” He sighed, sitting on the edge of the pullout sofa. He felt a dog head rest on him too. He felt bad.
“You’re not. At least not now.” He mumbled quietly, still not turning around.
“Thank you. Dinner?” Remus nodded, moving to a sitting position next to him again.
They talked again for a while, over dinner and then dessert about school, (Y/N) told Remus about the simple life in his little cottage and he just listened and laughed at his jokes. He hadn’t felt like this in a long time, a very long time. Now in the crisp autumn evening they sat together, Onyx quietly by their feet.
“Thank you.” Remus turned to him, awkwardly patting his leg in a pathetic attempt to make him feel closer.
“You’re very welcome, Remus. I’m glad I didn’t leave you to die out there, makes life a little more exciting” He laughed sadly, looking up at the bright unpolluted sky. He looked up too, his hand now resting lightly on (Y/N) leg. It felt comfortable there as he felt the other man’s hand rest on top of his. Remus liked this kind of silence, the silence after a nice conversation until.
“You weren’t attacked, were you?” He sighed, his voice sounded a little defeated. Remus’s feet felt on fire, he hadn’t felt this need to run in a long fucking time. He could immediately tell (Y/N) had put the pieces together. He could try and run, get up as fast as he could and break both his ankles trying to run away from this feeling.
“No.” Remus said, a little more emotionally distant than he intended.
“And those aren’t ordinary wounds or scars, are they?” Remus felt like he would throw up given the chance, (Y/N) didn’t turn to him, his eyes still glued on the sky.
“N-No.” His voice quivered as he spoke, his mind running miles in his head as thought about what (Y/N) was gonna do to him. (Y/N) sighed, it didn’t seem like he wanted to say it outloud either, but his hand was still firmly clasped with Remus. He didn’t dare move, he thought maybe if he didn’t let out, neither would he. His throat felt like it was closing up, (Y/N) was still staring up at the sky… not saying anything.
“Please say something.” Remus choked out frantically, his hands shaking slightly as he watched (Y/N) turn to him. He took a breath, grounding himself as he gave Remus’s hand a small squeeze.
“Lycanthropy, right? That’s the term I think. I didn’t really read a lot about it, I didn’t like how people were treated. The texts weren’t v-very flattering, so I only read what I nee-” He rambled a bit towards the end, but was interrupted as he saw Remus lower his head. He was worried. “Are you feeling sick? Is your foot okay?” He said quickly, trying to inspect Remus as he did on the first day he was there, but he watched Remus lift his head chuckling to himself a bit as a few tears streamed down his face.
“Y-You’re an asshole” He stuttered through a few choked sobs. (Y/N) looked like a deer in headlights, did he do something wrong? “What?”
“You’re a stupid asshole, d-dramatic too.” He shoved him lightly, laughing a bit through sniffs. “Couldn’t just s-say “I know you’re a werewolf and I don’t mind.” F-Fucking asshole behaviour.” He sniffed, wiping his eyes with the corners of (Y/N)’s sweater he was wearing. (Y/N) laughed a little out of relief. Their hands were still together, their pinkies interlocked subconsciously, but they both pulled away the heat raising to their cheeks.
“Uh-let’s get to bed, yeah?” (Y/N) coughed awkwardly speaking away from Remus. He grabbed Remus’s arm, the proximity of their bodies making them feel more flushed as he helped the injured man into his pullout.
“Goodnight.” “Yeah. G-Goodnight.”
The next two days felt more natural from there, Remus felt a little normal again. Someone knew and didn’t care. It made him feel like he could burst with tears again and again just thinking about how easy it felt to be around a person for once. Then Monday came, Remus knew it had to come to an end. At least this part, he couldn’t just move in with a stranger in the same week they met and he couldn’t expect one person who didn’t care to kill him, to become his new best friend either. The morning just felt depressing, like the first rain in spring. It had to happen, but he missed the blue sky.
“You can keep the clothes. Can’t just send you out there naked, can I?” (Y/N) chuckled sadly, handing Remus the last outfit he’s wearing here as he went to take the last bath here and the last- “There’s a bus just outside of the tree bounds that will take you to the bus terminal, you can just take this. I bought and never really used it. Wanted to see-“ (Y/N) started rambling again, but Remus cut him off with a simple “Thank you.. so much. You don’t know what this week meant.” He said candidly, might be his last chance to appreciate everything this stranger had done.
“Oh. Uh- you’re welcome.” (Y/N) huffed, a little flushed by the sudden candidness.
The morning seemed to slow as Remus lowered himself into the charmed bath again, his thoughts once again melting away in the smell of the sweet body wash in the bathroom. He felt like he knew the place so well now. He had found the mirror (after a couple of tries and (Y/N) pointing it out), which turned out to be a charm above the sink and knew where (Y/N) kept the cereal… Maybe he would just stop thinking again. The warm water washed over him a final time, the wash smelled amazing, nothing stung anymore, his ankle felt almost new again and he had at least made a new friend. Focus on the positive, James used to tell him. James…
“I’m gonna be out for a bit, help yourself!” He heard through the door, he felt a sense of routine at this point as he picked himself up from the wash, drying himself off and heading downstairs.
He ate and then folded the pullout for the last time, neatly setting the blanket on the end of the sofa. He sighed as he sat down, a sigh of content for once, as he opened the book (Y/N) had let him choose from his collection. He just read to himself before Onyx had come, sitting next to him. “I’ll miss you, big boy” He said scruffing the top of his head, a small grunt of appreciation leaving the dog.
A long two hours passed before (Y/N) came back, as usual a little out of breath with a few small prey hanging off his belt. “Lunch?” He said, Remus nodded and (Y/N) filled him up before they piled into (Y/N)’s small car.
The drive was silent, a certain somber energy between them. Remus felt like he would drive himself crazy thinking of an excuse for him to stay, any excuse.
“Remember which bus to take?” (Y/N) spoke up first. “I’ve taken the bus before, (Y/N).” He shifted in his seat uncomfortably.
“Just- Just making sure.” He stuttered, turning against the dirt road in front of them. Remus just watched the scenery pass by as they got closer and closer to the city. He watched (Y/N) tap the steering wheel more frequently as they approached the last turn, the sign of the bus terminal passing them.
(Y/N) pulled the car into a parking space, The silence felt thick as they sat there, the engine still humming with life before (Y/N) pulled the key out, sighing.
“Here, it’s my address. Write me, okay? Don’t be a stranger.” He laughed, a small tear edging to escape his eyes as he turned to face Remus. (Y/N) bunched his sweater together, wiping his eyes, sniffing heavily trying to compose himself. Remus wasn’t sure what went through his mind, but he put his hands on (Y/N)’s face, he could feel the heat in his cheeks as he did this. There was something that Remus loved about this sadness he felt. It wasn’t what he usually felt, a longing to make sure he takes every chance he can to visit this man whenever he could. The fact that he got to say goodbye, somewhat baffled him, saying goodbye to see him later.
“I promise I will.” He said smiling, how could he cry right now, he thought. This was probably the happiest he’s been in years. (Y/N) chuckled a bit, giving himself one last big sniff before doing something Remus wished he’d had the guts for that day. He grabbed his face back and kissed him.
Remus sat there for a moment, eyes wide and heart in his throat. He didn’t think he’d ever kissed someone, but when the shock wore off, he kissed whole heartly back. They pulled apart, Remus felt like he was in a dream. His head was a little dizzy from the rush.
“A present for the ride.” (Y/N) laughed, still holding his face, pressing their foreheads together.
“Let me return the gift” Remus huffed out, connecting their lips again. His fingers wrapping themselves around his neck, (Y/N)’s finding a home in Remus’s hair. Remus couldn’t believe how well their lips fit together. He smiled into the kiss before they pulled away, Remus tucked the piece of paper with his address on it into the small bag (Y/N) had given him and leaned in for a small peck.
“Goodbye, Remus Lupin.” He chuckled, a hand on his cheek. Remus put his hand over it, giving it a small squeeze as he lowered it.
“Until a later date, (Y/N) (L/N).” He smiled as he got out of the car. (Y/N) waving as he drove away. Remus definitely wouldn’t run this time, he’d be back before he knew it.

A long overdo hc post for Star! (These ended up kind of sad since I set them all pre movie, but I might do more later)
Shes a trans woman and chose the name Star for a few reasons
The first was that she drew inspiration from S.T.A.R., the Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries, a queer activist organization founded by Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson in 1970 (idea cred to Star from the BnT discord!). Even though it was dissolved when she was a kid, it was still a huge inspiration to her, and the name carrying such a deep connection to the history of her identity felt powerful
The second was that for a lot of her childhood, she wished on the stars outside her bedroom window. Wished for an escape from her parents, wished to feel safe, wished to be able to be herself, etc. They were comforting to her, a sense of hope when things got dark. Stars were meaningful to her, and they became her
She ran away moved to Santa Carla to get away from her parents when she was 19, and became friends with the boys after running into them on the boardwalk
She was new, both to the area and to being able to be herself in public, and they were her first contact, her first experience, with a group of queer people she could connect with
And it was freeing, and joyful, and wonderful
She has genuinely good relationships with the boys until being turned ends up not being as glamorous as they described, and until they reveal (in a very bloody way) that they’re the ones behind the wave of local disappearances
It feels like betrayal
She doesn’t see them as monsters, she couldn’t after knowing them the way she did, but her view of them is shattered all the same, tainted, and that hurts
What almost hurts more is that they don’t seem to get why
She tries talking to them about it, reasoning that they probably don’t have to kill to feed, that they can just drain small amounts from people instead of killing them, but the boys have been so conditioned to only see things one way that they brush her off
Paul she still stays somewhat close to, since he works the hardest to make her feel comfortable even after things go south, but her and David specifically have a huge nosedive in their relationship. They argue the most and go from being very close friends to having something more bitter and sad instead
From some of their arguments Star gets the feeling that she doesn’t have the full story, that there’s more to this than David’s telling her, but he never reveals enough for her to piece things together enough to help
She misses being able to be around people more often. Before she was turned she wanted to start helping people in the community, especially Santa Carla’s large homeless kid population, but after being turned, the bloodlust became too strong for her to trust herself around large groups, at least for extended periods of time
For that reason she usually only goes out really late at night, when the beach is mostly empty and she can walk by herself and get some alone time
A few times every week she goes to the boardwalk, but it’s never for more than an hour or so, just enough to check out some of the shops or catch a snippet of a concert, or to take Laddie on a few of the rides
The rest of the time she isolates herself in the cave, using shells, pieces of sea glass, and other things from her beach walks to make decorations
It helps pass the time, helps keep her hands and mind busy, and makes the cave feel more like a home
She’s friends with Maria, since the boys used to take her to hang out around the video store before they were banned (for knocking over a display, David told her, but she’s not sure if that’s the full story), and she goes over to her place to take showers every few days
Maria doesn’t know anything about vampires, but Star finds comfort in their friendship anyway, even if she can’t talk about everything
Star wears a lot of essential oils, rubs them on her wrists, and she has a collection of small half used bottles under her bed
Her favorite scents are lavender, rose, and amber. Nothing too harsh like most perfumes, just gentle aromatic stuff
She sings, and she has a really nice voice, smooth and soft and perfect for lullabies and slow songs, but she only sings to herself and Laddie nowadays
She doesn’t want to be a vampire, she doesn’t want to kill, but she doesn’t know how to free herself and she doesn’t feel like she can just run away again because she has a kid to watch over and nowhere else to go
She walks barefoot everywhere because she likes feeling the ground
Her hands are actually pretty rough and calloused, from working with tougher materials like driftwood and rocks, and because her skin dries out pretty easily in the heat
She likes movies and will go to the theater when she can
She’s not a big fan of swimming but likes putting her feet in the surf and will take baths at Maria’s if she has the time
Sometimes when the boys are out with Laddie she’ll go lay on the bluffs, looking up at the stars and wondering how she ended up wishing on them all over again

A Calm Day
Tumblr media
Pairing: Doyoung x Reader.
Genre: Fluff; Slice of Life; Established Relationship.
Word Count: 1.9k.
Warning: None.
Rating: PG.
Beta Reader: @suhdays read it over and reassured me it was cute.
A/N: This is a late birthday present for the sweetest of beans aka @hobeemin. I wish I could have made something better, but also who would like a nice day with the dork known as Doyoung. I already told you happy birthday, but again I hope that you had a great days and every birthday to come is also great.
Saturdays were a time for going out and enjoying yourself. For attending brunch, get togethers, parties, or even going on adventures. Or at least that was what YN was all about when she was in college and the few years that came after. The version of her that had a demanding job and a somewhat active social circle deemed Saturdays a day of rest. Sunday could have all the fun, but the day after a work week was for her to unwind.
Well, her and her fiancé who seemed to fail to remember what the word relaxation meant.
Which was why on the Saturday morning - more like early afternoon - after a particularly tough week she expected to wake up in bed alone. However, she opened her eyes to find Doyoung knocked out of the bed next to her. It surprised her, even more so because he looked like he was still within a deep sleep and not just lying there trying to sleep.
A smile formed on YN’s lips seeing him like that. The dork tended to work too hard and then not give himself time to recuperate. It was a constant point of issue between the two of them. But when he did take the time to relax it was beautiful. She found him handsome every second of the day, but resting Doyoung was just so beautiful. And he was peaceful to watch, though she tried not to be a creep about it.
Doyoung would never let her live it down if he caught her and she was not about to play that game with him.
So, after a few seconds of staring at his face in the sunlight she closed her own eyes and let sleep claim her again. She needed it.
When she woke up again though, the bed was empty and the clock told her she’d slept in past one. Sleep clung to her saying she could stay in bed longer, but she knew that she’d had enough and despite the goal of chilling that day she didn’t want to sleep it away.
Which meant that she forced herself up and out of the bed, swaying a bit as she tried to wake up enough to not faceplant the first step she took. It took several seconds and so blurred vision, but she pulled it together, but before she could fully lift her foot the door to the bathroom swung open and out came Doyoung.
He was shocked to see her, but a smile took over his face rather quickly.
“I was just going to come and wake you up,” he said.
YN narrowed her eyes and scanned over his features, noting the clothing that he was wearing carefully.
“What so you can make me go on a run?” she asked, though it was more like an accusation.
At that the smile on Doyoung’s face dropped and he rolled his eyes. The sassiness that was a large part of his personality always came out at the drop of the hat.
“No. I’m allowed to wear basketball shorts and this shirt without going to work out. I ran you a bath.”
There was still something suspicious about it all, but after a few seconds YN stop looking at him sideways and instead smiled.
“Well, aren’t you the sweetest,” she said as she approached him, reaching up to pinch his cheek as she did it.
Of course, there was more eye rolling, but Doyoung smiled at her again. Then he leaned forward to place a kiss to her lips. It was gentle and warm, which somehow made her feel both calmer and much more awake. She enjoyed that feeling and pouted the moment he pulled away.
That was funny to Doyoung though and instead of giving her another kiss to stop the pouting he merely grabbed her hand and led her into the bathroom. There she found the aromatherapy machine going and a bath bomb dissolving into the water creating a nice lilac hue. It was one that she’d run out of a month before and kept forgetting to go buy more of. She’d mentioned in two days before when she wanted to take a bath but didn’t have it on hand, running her plans.
And that’s all it took to stop the pouting and start the heart eyes. Doyoung liked to pretend he was more standoffish than he was, but he was one of the sweetest people that YN knew. He always paid attention to what she said and with the week she’d been having, he must have known how much she needed even something as minor as her favorite bath bomb.
Doyoung had to have seen the way her lips parted to say something, because before she could get all soft on him he was talking.
“You can relax here for a while. But you have about forty-five minutes to get ready. We’re going out, so wear something comfortable and relaxed.”
Then before she could process that he was out of the bathroom.
Part of her wanted to call him back and ask what he meant or give him the small praise she’d been prepared to say, but she knew better than to ask his plans for them. Plus, the moment she looked back at the tub the ache her body felt hit and she wanted nothing more to sit in the scalding water. So, that’s what she did.
The moment she stepped in after stripping her body begged her to leave because of how hot it was, but she merely waited a second for it to adjust at her feet and submerged all but her head. More warning bells went off, but they left her seconds later and she felt herself become one with the water. The smell and feel of the lavender bath bomb melting away her pain almost instantly.
Everything just felt better in a bath where she didn’t have to focus on anything but herself. Not that she really did that since she practically drifted off in there and didn’t snap out of it until the water got a little too cool about thirty minutes later. She felt like a prune, but it was fine because she felt so good.
After she checked the time on the clock in the bathroom she got out, drained the tub, and hopped into the shower so that she could clean herself. From there it was quick work to get skincare done and herself moisturized and dressed.
As she pulled on her second sock Doyoung entered their bedroom looking ready to rush her only to stop when he saw her basically ready. All she needed to do was throw her hair in a ponytail, which was easy enough since she’d gotten faux locs two weeks before and they were lived in enough that she could style them any which way.
With her ready to go she and Doyoung left the house without much of a word to each other. Doyoung seemed in a rush so she didn’t want to slow him down by asking a million questions, however the moment he got them onto the highway she turned to him with a raised brow.
“Where are we going?”
“Somewhere.”
“Where is somewhere?”
“A place.”
“What kind of place?”
“A place I want to take you.”
“A place where you want to take me to murder me?”
Though he’d maintained a straight face through her little questioning the last question caused him to groan and glare at her. She knew that he wasn’t planning to murder her and that he wanted it to be a surprise, but once she got into the groove of the back and forth it was hard for her to stop herself. That wasn’t new though, so though Doyoung was mildly annoyed with her antics he brushed it off rather easily.
“Keep it up and yes it will be where I murder you,” he mumbled.
That response elicited a laugh from YN, the kind where you threw your head back and smiled too hard. Something that only made Doyoung a little fed up with her, though she swore she saw him smile a little at it.
From there they just enjoyed the ride with a soft pop music playing as they went. YN watched the scenery change from building to forest and then back. And the next thing she knew they were pulling into the smaller parking lot near their favorite spot to relax near the Han River.
The location was a bit shocking, but she went along with it and didn’t pester the poor man anymore. Though that became hard as they got out of the car and he pulled a picnic basket out of the trunk. What they were doing was clear, but still so many questions entered her head that she just didn’t voice.
Once Doyoung had the basket he took hold of her hand and led her out closer to the river. They walked a few minutes before they reached a spot under a tree that they both liked. Thankfully, no one was under it or around the area, so they had a little privacy.
Happy with their spot Doyoung quickly unpacked the basket, swatting away YN’s hands any time she tried to help him out. Though that didn’t fully stop her and eventually he moved so quickly that she didn’t even have the chance to intervene at all.
“Sit,” he said once he finished.
That made YN narrow her eyes and tilt her head at him. For a moment he did the same before sighing and plopping onto the blanket he’d laid out.
“Please sit with me.”
With the rephrasing she plopped down next to him and took in what he’d brought for them to enjoy. It was a mix of all their favorite portable foods. Some sandwiches, kimbap, fruits, drinks, and part of their convenience store snack stash.
“I thought that we could spend the afternoon like this. We haven’t had the time to in a while, so it seemed to be a good idea. Especially before dinner with my sister, tonight” Doyoung said.
Hearing that warmed YN a great deal because it was thoughtful. She hadn’t complained about the lack of time spent together, but it had been something that popped into her mind a time or too. And knowing how Doyoung and his sister got along it was going to be stressful and there definitely need to be some dumping of stress before and after that dinner.
Though he also probably wanted brownie points for later because nine point nine times out of ten Doyoung was the reason things with his sister went awry and YN had to get on his case about it. But she didn’t think about that too long, just leaned over and placed a kiss on his cheek before picking up a sandwich to eat.
Doyoung returned the favor and then joined her eating. Neither had had anything all day so they were beyond hungry and scarfed down half of the provisions within minutes. Not that either cared about the slobbish way they ate anyway. Food in their stomachs was the end goal.
Upon finishing their breakfast slash lunch, they both laid back on the blanket and stared at the sky.
“Did you finish that book you were reading?” Doyoung asked.
“Yeah. It was okay.”
“Can I borrow it? Looked like something I’d like.”
“Sure, but you have to let me borrow yours.”
“Mine?”
“Yeah, that one from a few weeks back.”
“Ooh. Yeah, that one was…”
The moment books were mentioned they both kind of spiraled down that path, discussing ones they’d read before and recommending others they thought the other might like.
Overall, it was a pretty chill day but that was all that YN could ever ask for. Sometimes you didn’t need more than company and calm conversation. Sometimes it was the thing that did the most for the soul.

Some common concerns about bathtub drain hair catchers include compatibility issues with different Drain Stopper Sink types and their effectiveness in preventing clogs. While it's important to choose a hair catcher that fits your drain properly, most models are designed to work with a wide range of drain types and sizes.
Conclusion
Bathtub drain hair catchers are an effective and affordable solution for preventing hair clogs and maintaining proper drainage in your bathtub.

The Top 5 Common Plumbing Problems in Hemet and How to Fix Them
Tumblr media

Tokoyami x reader- Big city, small pond
Fluff + Nature took back the earth AU combined with fantasy AU
You didn't take a breath before sinking back down from the side of the moss overrun pavement into the flooded road, deepened after many years of abrasion and sinkholes popping open intermittently. Deep enough for anything to swim in at least, though clementine traffic cone's still floated and drain covers for manholes had rusted and chipped away at the side. Litter still filled the bottom of the sinkhole but had all seemed to collect in the deep abysses. Metal benches were still bolted to the floor but had new river weeds and algae wrapped around each section of the skeleton but it was a wonderful place for anything to sit.
Your gills split open on your neck and you walked the depths of the "river" the reflection of miraculously working street signs for takeaways that greedy humans reopened over and over no matter how many times mother nature reclaimed the earth. Your finger's brushed the scales of an orange carp darting past you and you kicked your leg's out, turning them to an iridescent (f/c) fishtail, ending and transforming to human at the hips, your skirt clung to the tail under the water and your flowy t-shirt billowed out when you moved sharply, turning a corner or halting quickly to watch something.
Your tail kicked up rocks and dust which swirled in the water and settled at the bottom again as sediment. You scoffed at a human dropping a paper wrapper into the water that turned too much and landed on the floor, a few balls of red and white paper landing on your arm then tumbling off.
You popped your head up feeling a lily pad drooping down over your hair and covering your right eye. "Hey!" you shouted but the human was on his knees looking into the water in annoyance "Excuse me! I don't appreciate your wrapper dissolving in my river!" you shouted and he lifted his head, ruby eyes fluttered to you pulling the lily pad off your head, flopping it back onto the water where it drifted further away.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to drop it, I was trying to find it now" he sighed in annoyance at the knowledge it was gone. He sat cross legged at the side and tilted his head looking at you. "Mermaid?" it was definitely supposed to be a question but it sounded more like a surprise than curiosity. You rolled your eyes and repeated his word in a mocking tone "oh mermaid? No. I'm not a mermaid, I'm a nymph obviously. How would you like it if i just assumed you were a crow!" you crossed your arms, your tail fins swishing back and forth impatiently. "I suppose I'd be most irritated" he scratched the back of his neck and hung his head.
You sighed swimming closer to the edge and rested your forearms on the kerb next to him. "It's whatever. Not like you city folk would know a difference anyway. Mother nature did all she could to reclaim the earth as hers and you still poison us with your plastic and oil and deforestation" you listed the minimum amount of things humans had done yet it was still enough for him to feel a guilty punch to the gut. "I'm sorry for what my species did to the earth" he spoke on behalf of a race that didn't care. The human race. But it was nice to hear an apology for once instead of someone claiming it wasn't their fault.
"My name is tokoyami fumikage" he held out his hand and you took it, the web's between your fingers stretching out slightly and you analyse him curiously "(y/n) macdonald." he nodded and smiled at you politely "You have a very nice tail" he said unsure how to continue your conversation, it wasn't like he could just ask you to get up and join him for a dinner and get to know you, though honestly he wasn't sure how nymphs worked, for all he know maybe you could? "Thank you. It's my favourite colour!" you grinned swishing it behind you and hopping on the edge on the path with all your strength.
You kicked your tail out and they transformed into legs dipping into the water and creating ripples around your calves and he stared amazed at your split appendages, skirt still hugging your thighs nicely and your t-shirt stuck to you like a puppy with abandonment issues.
"The difference by the way. This is the difference between mermaids and nymphs. Mermaids are usually really rude too" you explained, picking a string of riverweed from your leg and flinging it into the water to drift along the shore or sink to the bottom. He hummed in response since he couldn't agree or disagree, for now he would stay a neutral party unwilling to get on your bad side again. "I see. How did you end up here anyway aren't nymphs supposed to be out in like... rivers and lakes?" he queried and you sighed looking at the murky water sadly, missing the feel of your own river. "Uh, when mother nature decided to shift stuff around and the big tsunami flood thingy came it flooded my river and we all ended up somewhere different. Maybe it was on purpose but I ended up here" you swung your legs in the water tapping the stone ground with your fingers.
You missed the smell of earth surrounding your crystalline lake running off into smaller streams and your favourite river for finding pebbles in. you missed the fluffy flax seed that stuck to you when you were drying off in the long grass by the bank and that floated on top of the water for fish to pop up and suction down into their stomach. You missed your friends mostly, almost sisterly bonds between all of you now severed and spread across all of japan.
"I miss home really. For all I know my friends could be home waiting for me" you exhaled deeply and tokoyami sadly glanced at you wondering how far your legs could take you. "What if I helped you get home?" he asked and you jumped excitedly. "You would really help me! Don't you have school or friends or anything? Are you sure you can help?!" you blabbered for a minute or so about how inconvenient it would be and how you didn't know how far you would have to go until he stopped you. "My school is on break right now so I have about 2 months off before I need to go back. Most of my friends are going to look for a cause of the reclamation too since half our school is unusable since it started so I have no qualms helping you"
You jumped up and down giddy and dove back in the water splashing him with water that rolled off his feathers, soaking the choker on his neck and you apologised. "I'm just so excited to go home! Thank you so much!"
And so began your long journey to your home. You passed hundreds of abandoned buildings crumbling to nothing with vines twisted up the sides and supersized branches through the shattered windows, ivy had crawled up the walls of every structure you passed and you talked aimlessly along the way. "So mother nature is-" "a goddess inside the earth" tokoyami nodded at your explanation and looked around in understanding. One of her creations had destroyed the other, the necessary one, and she was proving that humans were expendable. "I'd be pissed too if my home was being filled with gross plastic." you giggled and smiled thankful that someone finally took you as sane, you were tired of truth seekers who didn't like the truth they gave them. They had too much blame on them so they went to find something else.
A month flew by quickly, you spent as much time swimming along streams that you could but of course not every path was filled with water, so it was a long journey for someone who wasn't used to walking barefoot on the actual ground for huge periods of time.
"What are your friends like?" Tokoyami asked, pushing a bish out the way for you to crouch through and you hummed, "caring. They care about a lot of things like climate change, obviously, but also silly stuff like um the best wood to carve you and your significant other's name in, or which leaves are the shiniest at golden hour. We have to make up fun little games or we'd just get bored" you smiled and he chuckled. They sounded similar to you, pointing out tiny details on your quest like spiderwebs covered in dew hidden in the grass, or perfectly round stone's that were shiny in the sun, it made sense you wanted to get back to them so badly.
The trees opened up to an empty circle of grass and a circle not much smaller of water, flowing over the sides of the bowl into the grass and streams wound along into their own segments of the forest. "Home... i'm home! I'm home i'm home i'm home!" you cried jumping up and down and sprinting into the gorgeous blue water and immediately your legs changed to your (f/c) tail, glowing in the sun as you floated on your back and soaked up the water. "Come in come in!!" you shouted while waving at tokoyami.
You had taken rest stops at old hotels and decrepit houses to check for water and of course food and sleep but there was enough civilization along the way to keep you going. But tokoyami hadn't had a bath, a real bath, one he didn't have to fill with a showerhead, in a month and god he wanted to relax desperately.
He peeled off his sticky t-shirt and hung it over a tree branch dipping into the water and relaxing immediately. "This is surprisingly warm" he muttered watching you splash around joyfully and sunk under the water. It was so clean he could keep his eyes open and watch you dip in and out of the water bouncing like a dolphin.
You swam over to him and he sat back up shaking the water out of his feathers and you smiled hugging him tightly "thank you for taking me here. I wish I could help you get back home but I don't think i'd make it back here myself. You sighed and he shook his head. "It's okay, I have other ways of getting home. I don't have to leave right now. I'll stay for another fortnight but then I probably have to go" he looked at his phone glad he had data and could contact hawks at the click of a button.
In 14 days that went by like rapids over rocks tokoyami had to say goodbye and hawks picked him up from your spot on the way back from a mission. 2 of your friends had also found their way home so you weren't lonely and tokoyami had promised to visit. "Okay and be safe home okay! I hope I see you soon!" you shouted as hawks lifted him into the air and he nodded in a silent agreement and waved.
"See you soon (y/n)!" he shouted back and you jumped in a wave as they disappeared into the bright blue sky reflected in your lake.
"Sooo..." one of your sisters sidled up next to you and you blushed "don't even! I know what you're going to say" you shoved her away and she laughed at you teasintly.
"Soo..." hawks started and tokoyami rolled his eye's "no hawks"
