Ooh would love to hear your thoughts on Down Bad after hearing it live!

ok so I first want to caveat that I don't think this was necessarily the intention of the song. (But maybe wasn't not the intention lmao.) And it's not just like, the live of it all, I don't know. But I think seeing the performance of it in the middle of the set -- even though the set is clearly mainly about one story -- taken with the rest of it made me consider it in other ways.

(I know that made no sense 😂)

What I'm trying to say is: yes, I accept that it's mostly about the, er, microwave relationship. I 100% understand that intellectually and textually.

But listening to it in the show, absorbing it that way, it also made me realize how many parallels there are to the oven relationship, too. It's such a similar situation, just over a longer period of time.

Meeting Joe and following him into his world in London did pull her out of the life she'd been leading back in the US, and London became a respite from everything she'd been experiencing in NY/LA. (Like another planet, just for the two of them.) And through the life they built together she saw a whole new future for herself with plans on the horizon (the world was bigger than her/them), and seemed to have every indication that it was real, until the rug was pulled out from under her in some way (e.g. hoax, YLM, SLL). So the "fuck it if I can't have us" is also relevant, because that was the life they had been crafting at one point, and she's mad that it's gone up in smoke.

And even the "down bad crying at the gym" part kind of gave me a sad chuckle because it seemed like the death throes of the relationship were happening just as she was ramping up training for Eras.

So I guess my point is that while I objectively know that the song is about Matty and the love bombing and ghosting, it's another "all breakups are the same" situation because she did create this whole other world in her head for herself and Joe where she deluded herself into thinking they could work, only for him to figuratively leave her until she actually left him. Which is just the longer, and arguably more painful, way of how she deluded herself into believing Matty was the right escape hatch to the life she wanted.

Or, it may be a case where the song is more swirly than it's given credit for. And/or that the microwave happened because it was a copycat of the life she'd shared with the oven. (lol this is getting weird)

Idk, Down Bad just made me surprisingly reflective/emotional on the first night and I'm not sure why, except that like most songs on TTPD it's just SO sad if you think about it with any kind of depth.

Prism among the storm AU

Rosen's "pink" state. Yet, there is a twist! His mother was not Rose quartz and not even Pink diamond. She was a replica of Pink. A counterfeit if you will.

How's that happened?

The recources on Homeworld were getting low, new planets didn't produced enough good soldiers (Too many off colours or undercooked gems), times were pretty tough.

Yellow decided to try and make gems in the lab, synthetically and compare what would be more efficient. or even maybe combine the two.

But it turned into disaster. Once gems were done, it was found that: not only they get random gems as result, they have only portion of their powers. And they do turns out to be replicas of existing gems. One of them was a copy of Pink. A countrfeit had same facet and cut, including manerisms and characteristincs. but the powers were cut slightly and visual form had some differences, like white hair.

Feeling ashamed and horryfied by copying fellow diamond, Yellow ordered to destroy every synthetic gem and grind the shards into dust - never to be reused.

Replica escaped.

Earth

She arrived on it, disguising as a Rose quartz, the first soldier she saw when teleporting on surface.

Feeling sompletely betrayed by Yellow and not understanding what was her fault - her spite grown. She wanted to rebel. And so she did, convincing Pink diamond's Pearl to fight for freedom.

She was planning to shatter Pink diamond to take her place. To be real her.

No one knew her secret.

Shattering

Once the did was done and Pink was lured into a perfect trap - the course was clear. Yet Replica hesitated. Her friends and comrades loved Rose quartz warrior that she made up. Not tyranical diamond. She didn't had a heart to abandon her life like this to become what she always wanted.

So she kept her secret from EVERYONE

Truth

The way it was discovered that Rosen's gem is a replica - is by Bissy's observation. He had sealed away Pink and saw the gam many times. So when he had an opportunity to face Rosen and see his gem - he noticead very small differences in hue and mineral deposits (Blah blah blah, nerd rock words)

So he found out via his nother's notes that in their timeline there were synthetic gems and there were tell tell sign to distinguish them. And it was a match

He had to explain that to Rosen. Which he wasn't surprised that "being something you not" is in his gem

Full Plot of the Cancelled Sith Shrine arc from Star Wars The Clone Wars: Season 8

The plot of this arc was repurposed in Star Wars Rebels, when Ezra and Maul merge Holocrons together – as well as for the Sith temple on Malachor. The design for the temple and the wasteland where the swords are impaled in the ground were all concepts that were created for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but were later reused in Star Wars Rebels; and the Sith temple which was supposed to be located deep beneath Coruscant became a planet of its own instead of Malachor.

Yoda gets lured by Sidious like he did in Season 6 when he was messing with Yoda’s mind. Palpatine activates the temple and the disturbance in the Force lures Master Yoda. Additionally, Sidious partially messing with Yoda’s mind, since he knew that Yoda was likely the only one who had an idea of what was to come.

Sidious wanted Yoda to open a Holocron for him, but Yoda refuses, so he decides to hold Yoda hostage and to have other Jedi come down in an attempt to rescue him. The plan was for the other Jedi to open the Holocron for Sidious instead, in order to free Yoda in exchange. Ahsoka realizes this, and went to inform the Jedi that chasing after Yoda was wrong because it was a trap. Sidious would have also tried to sacrifice Yoda because in ancient times, the Sith used to sacrifice Jedi on altars.

Sidious wanted a Jedi Holocron – which Ahsoka would have then secured and returned back to the vault, and she would seal the door shut with her lightsaber while Sidious was on the other side shooting lightning at her. This would be her only glimpse at Sidious, even though she didn't exactly know who he was.

The Geonosians were utilized by Dooku in order to look for the temple itself. Sidious and Dooku didn’t know where it was but Sidious heard about it, so they had to find it first. The Jedi also need to use the Geonosians as guides, because the Geonosians being creatures that live in catacombs and depths by nature, were useful. The Jedi then free Poggle in order to tell them where all of those Geonosians were going (the Geonosians used by Dooku).

The Temple had kaiju-like monsters called "protectors." They lived in the depths and had moved to those caves to live in them. After a while they started acting as custodians or protectors of the ruins beneath the surface. The Jedi had to get past them in order gain access. Their role in the story was more so for lore-building rather than vital to the plot itself.

The Sith temple was only one. But still underground, just above the surface of the buried Sith temple there would have been both Sith and Jedi architecture sometimes even mixed together testifying how the Jedi had gradually started building on top of more ancient Sith ruins and ended up "overwriting" the history of those locations by imposing Jedi architecture and Jedi culture that concealed or sometimes even destroyed past Sith architecture.

This would have also shown the battle that happened between the Sith and the Jedi, so it had more than simply a cultural relevance. The whole plot and theme of the arc was similar to the ruins of Mar in the Jak and Daxter franchise where the ruins of Mar are buried deep beneath Haven City and the city was built on top of it.

The Jedi would have also used capsule-like vehicles to descend deep beneath the surface because they had trouble descending in Level 0. The main Jedi accompanying Ahsoka were Anakin and Obi-Wan. There would have been scenes where Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, Mace Windu, Ki-Adi Mundi appear – but the main ones involved are Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka.

The reward for mixing Darkside arts and the knowledge contained in a Jedi Holocron was similar to what Ezra and Maul obtained in Star Wars Rebels, although at the time when they wrote the Sith Temple arc, they had decided that the reward for mixing Darkside and Lightside was a vision of the future – and Sidious wanted to see the future to know if his enemies would be defeated and if his schemes would actually come to fruition, or if he had to retrace his steps and change some things and to see how his enemies would have reacted.

As far as how the arc ended – the Jedi rescue Yoda, Poggle returns to Dooku (hence his return in ROTS), and the Temple would have been destroyed similar to what happens in Star Wars Rebels with Malachor. The Jedi decide to keep the matter a secret -- even from other Jedi who didn’t know – because the fact that the Darkside of the Force was so close to them, and they never noticed or sensed it would make the Jedi look weak.

Also, according to them – in the end it was better that the temple was destroyed because the Jedi had the mindset that the Darkside has nothing to offer them or to show them, so it’s better off if it was destroyed and buried forever. But this would leave Master Yoda disturbed because it meant that their enemies were much much closer than they had initially realized.

Ahsoka would have "returned" to the Jedi, but she would have acted as a sort of "external informant" on their behalf for some time; and this is where her role comes into place with this arc – because she would have investigated in the lower world and found out where Master Yoda was taken. In the original intentions for the show, Ahsoka was not so sour with the Jedi after she left them.

Anakin initially is upset that Ahsoka left to begin with, but by the end of the arc, he accepts that Ahsoka made her own decision, a nod to Obi-Wan's wise words in the Utapau arc: "She made the decision..." Ahsoka doesn't fully commit to the Jedi until the Siege of Mandalore arc, which is where she joins with Rex and the 332nd.

Unrelated, but one element that was removed from Dark Disciple is Ahsoka's role, because in the original version, Ahsoka still held a close relationship with the Jedi despite being outside the order; and she would act as an external informant or agent for the Jedi when the Jedi themselves were limited by their own morality or code. So the Jedi would have gotten Ahsoka to contact Ventress for the job they wanted Ventress to do for them (assassinate Dooku with Quinlan Vos) because they thought Ventress would be more open to listening to Ahsoka and also because Ahsoka lived in the underworld so she could find out Ventress’s location at the time and approach her.

Do you think they'll drop a rebel riddle ssr or something for book seven? I saw you talking about how they released the other heartslable characters and then silver later during book seven. But I was just wondering since they did most other characters relevant to their dreams, and obviously they did cater and trey too.

Sorry if I worded this weird lol. I just thought that they would keep the heartslable dream trio together in their fancy dark outfits. I love the red and black colour scheme.

As of the recently announced book 7 chapter 13 news, Ace, Deuce, Epel, Jack, and all of the OB boys (Riddle, Leona, Azul, Jamil, Vil, Idia, and Malleus) are lacking SSRs associated with the book 7 main story. The current popular fan theory is that the OB boys will get Overblot SSRs eventually, the "evidence" for it being their prominence in book 7 + letting us play as them with detailed card stats and spells. This would also leave the remaining characters in an odd spot without book 7 SSRs. Sure, maybe Deuce could get a delinquent SSR and Epel could get a... cursed SSR... but Jack appears normal in his own dream and Ace is reusing his outfit from his SR Tropical Wear card.

It's not odd that Riddle didn't get a SSR along with Cater and Trey in the book 7 chapter 12 part 3 update; none of the OB boys have (even if all of them had special new looks), so it would be strange if Riddle was the only one to receive this special treatment. If we assume that the OB boys will get their own OB SSRs, maybe the initial illustrations + live 2D models will feature their dream forms? And then the groovies are their OB forms? Or maybe the OB forms are the initial art and the groovies are their book 7 alternate outfits. Or maybe you can toggle between them if you own the OB card? Or... I wonder if this would be a case similar to College Gear Ortho, which everyone received after clearing book 6. (I doubt it; some of the dream designs are too fancy to be free story-related R cards.) They might be SSR banners at the end of book 7 or right after it?

Then if the OB boys get SSRs, that leaves 4 left in the main cast without main story SSRs. It's possible that Ace, Deuce, Jack, and Epel also get their own SSRs eventually--just to cap off the main cast. 11 SSRs for book 7 and another 11 SSRs (OB boys + 4 first years) for book 8?

There's many possibilities, but it's all still technically speculation at this point.

thinking about how terrible it is to reuse trackers from a security standpoint. there's no way a rebel didn't get their hands on the trackers, deconstruct one, and learn how to deactivate them. it seems they had been reusing the trackers for years by sotr. in the 74th games, the d3 boy reactivates the mines himself. in the 10th games, the d3 tributes rewire the drones in the arena. they either keep those trackers on lock down and only use them on the most secure network to ever exist, or they started changing them yearly by the time johanna has to remove it manually.

Happy satan day! I got @crowstrel and. Despite the chaos of October decided to do 3 pieces; i though the designs of Bones and Moth would be fun to ham up the stylization.

The main piece of Reuse is meant to be him exploring the Raven Queen's castle- hence the frost on the windows, and a couple other nods to my own version of her in the decor. I'm slowly reprogramming my brain when it comes to Rebelle, and trying to paint more like actual watercolors than my normal methods. I dont usually do compositions like this, so it was fun to figure out!

The Fixer Drone AU

(Aka “Evil” Drone Tessa)

Uzi Doorman, rebellious robo-teen, sneaks outside the bunker where she lives in order to find components for her railgun so that she would be able to fight against the Disassembly Drones.

Instead she finds herself “hired” as an assistant for Serial Designation T-3554 (aka Tessa), a Fixer Drone sent by JCJenson IN SPAAAAACE!!!! to fix the rebel drones situation on Copper-9… by turning the rebellious drones into Disassembly Drones and sending them to kill all the rebellious drones and reuse their remains to create more Disassembly Drones, after managing to impress her with her railgun.

Now forced to work for the enemy, Uzi needs to survive an insane boss, a near infinite number of abominations that could (and probably will) kill her, two coworkers that don’t like her a lot and the enigmatic CEO of JCJenson IN SPAAAAACE!!!! that is planning something evil that will endanger everyone on Copper-9… at least her coworker N is nice towards her.

This AU was another creation of me and @roseofhybrids. We put down a couple of ideas a while ago when episode 7 came out about an AU where Tessa was turned into a drone by Cyn and began doing the same to other humans and the rest is history.

Tessa is “evil” and willingly works for Cyn. She’s also not very mentally stable due to the horrors she subjects herself and her assistants daily and has lots of holes in her memories that she’s unaware of. It should be obvious that bad things will happen once she remembers what she forgot.

N, V and J are regular Worker Drones and act as assistants for Tessa. There is a reason for that but it’s a spoiler.

Uzi is trying to sabotage Tessa’s plan but at the same time she starts to respect her because Tessa acknowledges her skills and even teaches her how to make cool stuff. This will have long term consequences in this AU and will eventually bring her in conflict with [SPOILER].

Uzi still has the AS powers, but it will take longer for them to trigger.

There are two versions of the Disassembly Drones: the robotic ones and the “mostly robotic” ones. Both are dangerous but the second ones are more disturbing.

Cyn is known by Tessa and the drones as the CEO of JCJenson IN SPAAAAACE!!!! and Tessa is disturbingly loyal to her since she claims Cyn found her back when she was just a broken and discarded drone, fixed her and gave her the job she loves so much. The rest of the drones have mixed feelings.

I remade the trailer to Robot Monster, to serve as a trailer for a hypothetical remake of... you guessed it, Robot Monster.

Destruction has come, hu-mans, and its silliness will not protect you.

My thoughts and how-to process blog post under the fold.

I made Robot Monster's Trailer Remake primarily with Vidu and with Midjourney.

For most shots I started with a photoshopped midjourney gen (or stack of them), which was used either as a prompt image or starting frame.

Some shots, like the earthquake, were done with start-and-end frames.

Vidu has some quirks for my Roland Emmerich Christ-the-Redeemer shot. I attempted the image several times as a direct image as start frame, but it would reset to a new camera angle each time, rebelling against my inaccurate version:

As the AI could recognize the statue, but not it being in inaccurate surroundings. I eventually used it as a prompt and not a start frame got a good enough shot.

I tended to go for 8-second shots on quality mode, to give me more to cut around and edit. Almost no shots play without some cropping, speed adjustments or other edits in this, and anyone using AI for a larger project is going to find much the same.

While 90% of the shots are from Vidu a few I used Hailuo's Minmax to accomplish. Mainly things like a few low-motion Ro-man talking shots, the computer-communication device, and the motion title card for "electrifying", etc.

Vidu likes to move, a lot, and for stuff that needs subtle movement I sometimes find it helps to mix things up.

I've found that when image prompting for a character, like Ro-Alice, it sometimes helps to do a fullbody and portrait two-for-one. This helps keep the character design consistent, and you can kinda tell which Ro-Man shots I made before I figured this trick out.

I also reused shots of the dinosaurs from my other AI video projects for meta reasons.

Right now it doesn't make videos so much as it makes shots you can weave into videos.

I'm actually impressed at how well it understood the concept of Ro-Man, only giving him a full ape face or a weird tail or the like a couple of times.

My general approach to the concept was "What if you kept the premise the same but had a budget." Whereas in reality you'd never actually get that combo, since if they had money, they wouldn't have made Robot Monster.

It also let me play with a fanon idea I've had for awhile that the Ro-Men were the helmets, and the ape-creature was some biological organism used as a conveyance.

For the audio, I took the audio to the trailer and used Suno's cover-features to both clean up the sound and change the musical style. The back half of the original track was completely warped by the cover process, but I used another bit of trailer-style music to cover that bit, and to extend for the longer ending shot, since my version of the trailer is about 20 seconds longer than the original.

Some prompts utilized:

All-in-all, a fun project, and one that came along when I really, really, really needed something to concentrate on for long stretches of time.

All games ask “how can I reuse this asset? how might I trick the player into replaying this level or moving through this space again? It sure took a lot of work to make it.” When I played Armored Core 3 there was a mission to defend a rebel base from attacks on all sides and you have to rush around to manage all the enemies. A few missions later you’re hired by a corporation to put down a labor uprising. I loaded in and it immediately hits me where I am and how well I had learned the space. The corporations couldn’t beat you - so they hired you. It stuck with me as the best recycling of a level asset since flipping the castle upside down in Castlevania. I hit my first mission in Armored Core 6 like this. It wasn’t the same reuse of an exact level that I was expecting but it was still exciting to be on both sides of the conflict. I love the mission structure of the armored core games because it led to this extremely creative solution for reusing maps and spaces.

Between Odalia clearly being afraid of Belos in her reaction to Hunter… The investors from her show being revealed as wild witches… And all these things being written just before the show’s shortening was announced, it really makes me wonder if there was something else intended.

Those wild witches the BATTs freed could’ve just been a case of reused assets, but Hunter also insinuates that Belos targeted Blight Industries so that rebels couldn’t use them against him. We also see another purpose, but still; I can’t help but speculate that maybe there would’ve been a plot about Alador and Odalia caught between the rebels and the coven and having to make a choice.

Given there’s two of them and how they reveal contrasting stories, I wonder if it would’ve been Alador who sided with the rebels, while we saw more of Odalia’s downward spiral in siding with Belos despite everything, her thought process. Or maybe she would’ve also made the same choice as Alador, mostly to save her own life; She otherwise hasn’t learned anything from the experience or the system’s corruption, nor does she intend to improve as a parent either.

This does remind me of the storyboards, where Odalia would’ve apparently made a truce of some kind with the kids and the Collector, and maybe serving the Collector would factor into that realization. Maybe her fear of Belos, a higher authority, is encapsulated with Odalia dealing with the Collector, and it makes her reflect on how she treated Amity after having a moment of empathy.

Or it’s just the same pragmatic idea of wanting things to go back to where they were; And if that’s the case, it makes me think to my earlier speculation. It reminds me of my theory since forever that Belos wanted to resurrect the Titan, and I wonder if the draining spell was originally intended by the writers to be the energy necessary for such a spell.

But the Collector was included after the shortening (and from what storyboards for Elsewhere and Elsewhen imply, replaced some other cosmic antagonist as someone more agreeable in a shorter timeframe), so they fit the character in and had to change the sequence leading to this; So the Titan being revived was an impromptu Plan B, and Belos gained the ability to possess things so he could pull it off. So it’s the same end point but a different road leading to it…

Thus, my speculation on Odalia having the same endpoint of not really learning, but still someone you could count on to have common sense in the end; This would’ve happened with Blight Industries caught between two sides to potentially cater to, if not both in Odalia’s greed… But then the shortening made it so this was scrapped and it’d happen with the Collector and Belos’ possession threatening the Archives and the entire population within. But the finale was already going past the intended 44-minute mark, the writers opted to prioritize Camila… Still, same idea in the end.

Even with the show over, there’s still eternal speculation on what could’ve been in the original plans; So we’ll never stop wondering! Just as the adventure keeps going in-universe, and we have the pilots to work off of, neat.
