People are complaining about Effie being older than Haymitch but I really could not care less about it. She's older than him and she's Capitol so she probably looks younger due to having a bunch of fancy Capitol beauty regimes. Haymitch is younger than her but he's had a rough life and doesn't look after himself so he looks older than he is. And they've known each other for 25 years and spent every one of those years sending one boy and one girl off to die. And they have depressed middle-aged hookups about it.

I have the headcanon that Katniss’ kids keep bunnies as pets and one day, one of them dies from old age. That evening Katniss serves him up for dinner (food is food) and all hell breaks loose. The kids scream and cry, Peeta desperately tries to calm them down and Haymitch falls off his chair from laughing so hard while Katniss grumbles about how she doesn’t understand what they are on about.

After reading the Epilogue this headcanon is just cemented into my brain. I love her, but Katniss-I-tried-to-drown-my-sisters-cat-Everdeen would be fun to watch as a mother.

SPOILERS OF SOTR

people STILL shipping Effie and Haymitch after sotr... I used to ship them, but now it's obvious that they are not a thing. And I'm talking about people who think this two are cannon, not people who had a head canon/ship them knowing they are not together but wish they were. I would love to see Haymitch falling in love again, being sober, healthy, wanting to life... Having a new chance on life. But what we do know is that he feels like he is growing old with Lenore, like her ghost it's with him and she it's not stuck in time. He is waiting his own death, the only think that keep him alive are his boy and his girl (trying not to cry writting this) and their kids. He is waiting death to be with his Dove in the afterlife like she promise to him. Also we don't know much about Effie after the revolution.
