saw a tweet that pointed out that rei’s speakers are a ref to seele from evangelion and that’s like, a whole can of worms i need time to unpack lmao but one thing i noticed about rei’s speakers now that i’ve been told i should really be looking at them lmao was the text underneath those zeros!!!! the rhyme anima➕ art book included the back of the speakers in a small png, so it was previously unreadable for me, but!!!!

after some finagling to get a clear enough shot, from what i can see, that says hypnosismic -authentic- 零式 which translates to ‘type zero’. in eva, seele is a basically an oversight organisation, presumably made of 12 members (in reference to jesus’s 12 disciples) and it’s also assumed each number represents when each member joined the organisation. zero type i think implies this plenty on its own lol but coupled with that ref, maybe the mic rei’s been using this whole time is the very first ever completed mic, something outside of what he created for chuuoku 🤔

heya, I noticed for your fic 'Stay Where I Can Reach' you tagged dissociative personality disorder and was wondering if you mean dissociative identity disorder (DID) or depersonalization/derealization disorder (DPDR)? dissociative personality disorder is not a term I'm familiar with

Hiiii sorry I'm late!!

Short answer: I did purposefully tag it as personality disorder rather than identity disorder! For "as per my research" reasons mainly.

Long answer: I gave Andrew a more general dissociative disorder, bc DID is its own thing that would require me to do even more research than I already have 😅 The aim wasn't to give Andrew separate parts/alters with total amnesia between them - he's still a singlet, with one identity/part in his head. It's just that the one part has dissociative symptoms like other trauma disorders, even if it's more 'intense' than in some other cases.

When I was doing this initial research I found somewhere that dissociative personality disorder is a separate disgnosis from DID/OSDD? And it described what I was going for for that Andrew? I'm not gonna say that's 100% the end all be all, because hell if I know lol you may be right! Depersonalization or derealization disorder could in fact be the real term and just I found an outdated source/misread things. I might've accidentally used an umbrella term rather than a specific diagnosis or something. I could go back and refigure out the whole thing but I gotta be honest. I don't have a lot of extra energy or space or put toward it atm, but maybe if anyone thinks its worth a re-look I might put it on my list

Shadow moves a paw to pinch his own nosebridge with an irritated sigh. Sonic merely gives a nervous chuckle and shrugs.

Shadow lowers his paw to move and cross his arms. he seems to do this though when Sonic uncrosses his own arms.

' ' What does Red and Green make? Generically, Brown. but that is with the darker color spectrum. my eyes are bright red, and yours are emerald green. What color does that make? ' '

' ' ...Lighter brown? ' '

' ' No, It makes Yellow. and Silver's eyes are Yellow. ' '

' ' How does that prove relations to either of us though? ' '

' ' His chest fur is white. I have white chestfur. his natural birth eye shape is similar to mine, but his coloration on his muzzle and the inside of his ears are closer to yours. the spines on the back of his head bend back far like mine, but bend down like yours. ' '

' ' Oooohh... yikes, I didn't think about all of that.. ' '

Sonic taps a paw to his chin, glancing away with self thought.

' ' It could be pure coincidence. we never asked Silver about his parents. he could either be nothing related to us, or it could be a timeline thing. it's difficult to say. ' '

Shadow concludes with a sigh, almost as if he was mildly annoyed to point out a lot of his observations. he turns his head away too.

A Note on "Canon"

Before I begin posting any kind of Forgotten Realms textual analysis, or any of my DM material that I use or have produced for my homebrew campaign (Shadows on the Moonsea), I'd like to make a clarifying note as to my personal approach to "canon" texts/degrees of source material canonicity and how that affects my work. The Forgotten Realms setting is nearly 40 years old and spans five editions of Dungeons and Dragons, with dozens upon dozens of tabletop supplements alone; this before we discuss material provided in Dungeon, Dragon, or Polyhedron magazine articles or the plethora of novels and short stories also published in the setting. As a result, any work with this body of material by necessity involves dozens of publications, spanning several decades, with a significant number of authors and editors who may or may not have been communicating with each other and thereby may contradict each other, or themselves, from text to text. What follows is my own personal, subjective grading of canonicity; that is, which source materials I favor in my research and receive priority in my assessment of the canon, ranked by consistency and utility of the material therein.

Do note: I am largely approaching this from the perspective of a tabletop DM, and therefore materials which are useful at the table receive priority treatment.

Tier 1: AD&D 2e and D&D 3e sourcebooks and boxed sets (Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting boxed set for 2e, Forgotten Realms Adventures for 2e, Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting for 3e)

My primary reference material; these sources are largely consistent both within themselves and with each other, and provide thorough overviews of the setting.

Tier 2: regional/organizational supplements for 2e and 3e, setting sourcebooks for AD&D 1e and D&D 4e and 5e (e.g. The Moonsea for 2e, Code of the Harpers, Silver Marches for 3e, Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide for 4e, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide for 5e).

These sources are placed lower due to incompleteness of material (4e and 5e), or because they serve as supplementary sources for Tier 1 material. Contradictory information to Tier 1 sources as presented in these sources is assessed on a case-by-case basis. 1e material is considered Tier 2 rather than Tier 1 due to a degree of early-installment weirdness and inconsistencies with the more established material in 2e and 3e.

Tier 3: adventure modules for 1e, 2e, 3e, and 5e, 4e supplements, Dungeon, Dragon, or Polyhedron articles for use at the table by authors who have worked on one or more Tier 1&2 sources.

Adventure modules may contradict established canon in Tier 1&2 sources to make the adventure flow more easily, but may also contain useful reference material (detailed descriptions of adventure sites or small towns, for example). 4e supplementary material is here and not further down the list only because it's officially published tabletop reference; it's low utility, tonally dissonant, and frequently contradictory at best.

Tier 4: magazine articles for use at the table by authors who are not credited in Tier 1&2 sources. Novels and short stories by authors credited on Tier 1&2 sources. Adventurer's League tournament modules and all 4e modules. "Setting agnostic" sourcebooks and supplements.

These often have inconsistencies with the primary texts, but may contain useful information to supplement higher tier materials. Novels and short stories are low priority for use at the tabletop, but may be helpful for NPC characterization beyond write-ups in other material. "Setting agnostic" material frequently draws from other settings' lore (particularly, in my experience, Greyhawk) and as a result contradicts Forgotten Realms canon while also providing little in the way of utility.

Tier 5: novels and short stories by people not credited on Tier 1&2 material. Any material by third parties on DM's Guild or other sites.

As with Tier 4 material, these are often riddled with inaccuracies; particularly in the case of novels, where I'm not certain half of the people writing them have more than vague familiarity with the setting. Anything Greenwood published after 2000, or said on his Twitter, Discord, or Patreon is also Tier 5 because it seems like he's just saying shit these days. Material on DM's Guild is worse because there's no oversight for fidelity to the source canon.

did not expect how much effort actually typing up the backstories & bios of all the characters from my oldest (still active) story would take.. esp bc aside from the main 4 characters i only had like a general idea of their circumstances (for some of them its just like. yeah this chick exists and shes among the friends of the main character. i have a general idea of her personality and ik she has two brothers. but then i need to come up w paragraphs and paragraphs of her life and interests bc ive done it for the other characters 😭).. so its actually a lot of fully original writing whereas for the main 4 it was mostly just writing down shit i already knew about them

Hello anon! Yes, I do play HSR! Although admittedly I am not very invested in the lore or characters. I play primarily because I like the gameplay style. That being said, I do play through all of the events (although I slack on the companion missions haha).

My current team is March 7th/Preservation!MC, Huohuo/Natasha, then typically Jing Yuan/Qingque/Dan Heng. I'm trying to get relics for IL Dan Heng and Argenti, but they are evading me TERRIBLY right now. Lord knows how much [insert hsr's name for resin here] I've wasted HAHA.

As for favorites in general, mine are March 7th and Huohuo. I just think they're both really cute. Even though I haven't played his companion missions yet, I have a crush on Argenti purely from his character teaser (it is so well choreographed I immediately fell in love). I'd marry Welt if he wasn't already taken. And my first 5-star was Bronya o3o
