I'm so happy to see folks enjoying Bubbles! I've got a fondness for monitor lizards myself, and reptiles certainly can be very opinionated. Props to Crowbar for being able to portray just how sweet they can be. This is my first time trying to do a project this long, so it's being written carefully and more back-to-front. I gotta make Bubbles cute enough that it counterbalances all the shit I am doing to these two. I mean, it's all fluff. :) Don't worry about it.

hello! i am back with yet another…thing. thank u for the tag @lovelymasks <3 (i realised, upon second reading, that this was supposed to be a sunday snippet but i’m an idiot n therefore this is now a saturday snippet mwuah)
I think you should go to a Healer, Sirius.
Why, he’d asked, flippant. What was there to do with a Healer when you were a convict on the run? Besides, Sirius was wrong in a way that couldn’t be made right. He was past the point of return. Healers would’ve barely known what to do with him before Azkaban, let alone in the condition he was in now.
Because you look like a stiff wind will blow you over, Harry’d answered, though the answering flippancy didn’t quite land the way he intended because what Sirius heard was ‘Because I don't want to lose anyone else.’
What Harry didn't say, and Sirius didn’t want to hear, was ‘Because I can’t lose another parent.’
He quietly acquiesced after that. The trembling, hopeful smile growing on his godson’s face was enough to wipe away all apprehensions after that.
Until now, when Harry was at Hogwarts, and he was second guessing this whole business.
Did he really need a Healer, like, really?
One look at the mirror in front of him gave him a solid, sturdy answer.
He was dressed in his old rags and it was a testament to the conditions of Azkaban that clothes from when he was younger, before hitting his final growth spurts, were barely just fitting him now. Sirius’ back was almost constantly bent these days--all days spent curled up in a ball seemed to have reshaped his skeletal structure, who knew--each vertebrae gaining a distinct notch in the column of his skin. His stomach was a fascinating blend of too small and too bloated. He couldn’t keep anything down, but he wasn’t able to eat much either. A mystery for the ages.
Less said about his face, the better. Sirius wasn’t vain, never had any reason to be, but there was a certain…pride he’d maintained, a level of outward appearance that was considered bare minimum for a Black, a conditioning he’d never managed to shake off.
It was that conditioning itching at him now, turning him away from any reflective surface before he could see his distorted features, grotesque and inhuman, staring back at him.
And ultimately, it was that, he realised with a shameful sort of guilt, that pushed him to see a Healer. Not his godson’s pleading look, not concern for his wellbeing--but leftovers from an upbringing that he hated, his mother’s words he couldn’t stop hearing, his father’s sharp commands.
Ultimately, it was his blood that made him give in, as it always did.

Shifting is essentially a conscious transition between mental states—akin to deep meditation, lucid dreaming, or self-induced dissociation. Your brain is already capable of generating fully immersive, hyper realistic experiences without external input. Just think of vivid dreams or hallucinations. All of that? Your brain. Not a simulation. Not magic. Just neuroplasticity and brainwave manipulation.
Here’s what happens when you “shift”
• You enter a deep theta or delta state (linked to sleep and subconscious access).
•You detach from the sensory input of your current reality.
•Your imagination becomes your dominant reality and your brain treats imagined scenarios as real, neurologically speaking.
•Repetition and belief rewire neural pathways, making this process easier over time.
Now go shift

۶ৎ The Alchemy of Shadow Work, Self-Concept, and Unyielding Confidence 𖹭.ᐟ
The art of breaking free from societies' shackles
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We are not born fractured. The world carves into us, shaping our beliefs with every glance, every word unspoken, every wound we were too young to name. From the moment we first looked into a mirror and felt the quiet unease of not belonging, the first seed of doubt was sown. Over time, we became mosaics of what others believed us to be: pieces of judgment, echoes of disappointment, remnants of expectations never our own; or what we assumed to be our own.
And yet, the truth has never changed. Beneath the layers of conditioning, beyond the scars of what was done and what was withheld, there exists something untouched, something whole. The journey back to our purest, happiest and abundant self it is what we call shadow work.
The Art of Confronting the Forgotten Self
To engage in shadow work is not to wage war against yourself, nor is it an exorcism of all that is unwanted. It is an act of reclamation. It is standing in front of the mirror and meeting your own gaze, unflinching, as you ask:
"What do I believe about myself, and who taught me to believe it?"
Shadow work is often mistaken for suffering, a descent into wounds with no promise of return. But it is not suffering that transforms, it is understanding. "The shadows do not exist to torment us, they exist to be acknowledged." To be given form so that they no longer wield control from the depths of the subconscious.
Begin with reflection. Write without censorship. When you hear yourself say, "I am not enough," ask why. When the thought arises, "I will never be loved the way I want," trace it back.
Where did it begin? Who was the first to make you feel unseen? You are not to relive the pain, only to recognize it, to let it be known so that it no longer dictates your story from the silence.
And when you have unearthed these roots, you must ask yourself: Do I still accept this as truth?
If the answer is no, then you have already begun to break the chains that were never yours to carry.
Why the Mind Clings to Limitation
The mind is a creature of repetition. It does not differentiate between what is true and what is false, it only knows what it has been told most often. Limiting beliefs are not facts; they are merely thoughts we have entertained for too long.
And the brain, in its efficiency, builds neural pathways that reinforce these patterns, making them feel inescapable. But here is what most forget: Neural pathways can be rewired. With conscious effort, with new affirmations, with repeated and deliberate thought, the mind reshapes itself.
Studies in neuroplasticity confirm this, thoughts sculpt the brain, the same way rivers carve into stone. And so, when you declare, "I am confident. I am radiant. I am magnetic." Not once, not twice, but over and over, your mind adapts.
The old beliefs weaken, the new ones take root. You are not changing yourself; you are revealing the self that has always been waiting beneath the rubble.
The Shift from Seeking to Knowing
True confidence does not beg to be seen. It does not search for proof, nor does it ask permission to exist. It simply is. To rebuild self-esteem is not to seek validation, but to realize you never needed it to begin with.
It is no longer asking, "Am I enough?" but stating, "I have always been enough." It is the shift from performing worthiness to knowing it. Look at yourself. The world has tried to break you, and yet, you remain. There is strength in that.
There is power in every breath you take despite the past whispering that you should not rise. You have endured. And if you have endured, you can become anything.
The Unwavering Self-Concept
A self-concept is not something you force; it is something you assume. You do not wake up every day questioning the sky's color—you simply accept it as blue.
In the same way, you must accept who you are without hesitation. If you desire to be radiant, assume you already are. If you wish to be captivating, assume it is a truth beyond doubt.
Speak it until your voice no longer wavers, until the world has no choice but to reflect it back to you. This is not arrogance; this is alignment.
This is recognizing that the universe does not resist certainty, it bends to it.
You Were Never Broken
You were never meant to be at war with yourself. The struggle was never between you and your potential, but between you and the illusions you were given. And now, you are free to release them.
Affirm. Persist. Trust. The mind is listening. The universe is listening. And soon, the reflection in the mirror will no longer feel like a stranger, but like the powerful being you were always meant to see.
You are whole. You are limitless. You are already everything.

The Science Behind the Law of Assumption: Is It Backed by Psychology?
The Law of Assumption sounds almost magical, doesn’t it? Think it, assume it’s yours, and poof—your desires come to life. But let’s bring it down to earth for a moment: is there any real science behind this idea? Spoiler alert: yes, there is. While it’s not wrapped in cosmic glitter, psychology offers some solid evidence for how changing your assumptions can genuinely transform your reality.
So, let’s dive into the psychological nuts and bolts behind the Law of Assumption—and maybe crack a smile along the way.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A Fancy Way of Saying “Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life”
CBT is a superstar in the psychology world. At its core, it’s based on the idea that your thoughts shape your feelings and actions. Sound familiar? It’s essentially the Law of Assumption in a lab coat.
Here’s how it works:
Negative Thought Loop: You think, “I’ll never be good at this,” which makes you feel anxious and unmotivated. Naturally, you avoid the task, and voilà—you prove your own assumption right.
Positive Thought Shift: In CBT, you challenge that belief: “What if I can do this?” That little mental shift changes your actions and eventually your results.
The Law of Assumption takes this principle a step further by saying, “Don’t just question your limiting beliefs—replace them entirely with assumptions of success.”
Example: Instead of “What if I could be confident?” assume, “I am confident.” Yes, it might feel awkward at first, but just like a new pair of shoes, it’ll feel natural the more you wear it.
The Placebo Effect: Proof That Belief Changes Reality
Doctors have known for ages that the placebo effect is real—and honestly, kind of mind-blowing. If you believe a sugar pill is medicine, your body can actually heal as if you’ve taken the real thing.
Think about that for a second. Your belief literally changes your body’s chemistry. Now apply that same concept to your life: if you assume success, love, or abundance is already yours, your brain and body start working in ways that align with that belief.
The Science-y Bit: Your brain releases neurotransmitters and hormones based on your thoughts. Assume positivity, and your brain produces feel-good chemicals like dopamine. That positivity influences your actions, which influences your outcomes. Boom—belief becomes reality.
Example: Assume you’re a charismatic speaker. Your confidence increases, and you speak with ease. People respond positively, reinforcing your assumption. Suddenly, you are that charismatic speaker.
Neuroplasticity: Your Brain, the Ultimate Shape-Shifter
Neuroplasticity is your brain’s ability to rewire itself based on repeated thoughts and experiences. It’s like Play-Doh—but, you know, way more sophisticated.
When you consistently affirm a new assumption, like “I am successful,” your brain builds neural pathways to support that belief. The more you repeat it, the stronger those pathways become, until it’s your brain’s default setting.
Think of it like this:
Repeating “I am successful” is like carving a trail in the woods.
At first, it’s slow-going, and you have to hack through some underbrush (a.k.a. your old limiting beliefs).
But the more you walk that path, the clearer and easier it gets. Eventually, it’s the brain equivalent of a six-lane highway.
Changing Beliefs = Changing Behavior = Changing Reality
Here’s where the science and the Law of Assumption truly align. When you change your internal beliefs, you naturally start to act differently. Those actions create new opportunities, relationships, and results in your life.
Example: If you assume, “I am deserving of love,” you’re more likely to set boundaries, seek healthy relationships, and radiate confidence. These behaviors attract the kind of love you’ve been looking for, and—voilà—you’ve manifested it.
But What About the Doubters?
Now, I hear you: “This sounds a bit too good to be true.” Fair enough. Change doesn’t happen overnight, and you can’t just sprinkle affirmations on your problems like fairy dust. The magic lies in consistency and persistence.
Think of it like working out: you don’t hit the gym once and wake up with six-pack abs. (If only, right?) You repeat the process until the results show. The same goes for your mindset.
So, The Law of Assumption isn’t just fluffy self-help jargon—it’s rooted in solid psychological principles like CBT, the placebo effect, and neuroplasticity. Sure, it might feel a little weird to assume you’re a millionaire when your bank account says otherwise. But science backs you up: your thoughts shape your reality, and with practice, your brain will believe what you tell it.
So, go ahead. Assume you’re living your best life. And if anyone raises an eyebrow, just smile and say, “It’s science.”

MERCURY SQUARE URANUS
I have this placement, and I’ve had to do a lot of deep diving. This one is for you guys.
Uranus shows an area of our life where we want freedom, but in order to have freedom we need to become disciplined before-hand. True freedom can only be obtained after having self-discipline. Having a square aspecting your mercury can show verbal frustration, or experiencing difficulty saying what you mean and articulating yourself. And with Mercury square Uranus, this frustration intensifies, because Uranus just wants to be free once and for all!
These people can experience a multitude of things such as: stuttering, using the wrong volume at the wrong time, feeling like they have a knot in their throat when they have something to say, saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, talking too fast, mumbling, speaking sporadically or in spurts, and so on...
Now...HERE is where I give you the solutions:
🌟start reading and writing everyday!!!
🌟do guided throat chakra meditations.
🌟talk with a pen between your teeth while reading a book.
🌟practice talking slowly.
🌟take a break from caffeine.
🌟do lip trills.
🌟Film yourself talking in front of a camera and watch yourself. What can you improve on?
🌟Try vocal toning.
🌟Observe some of the beliefs you have about your speech. Do you have a belief that you sound silly or annoying when you talk? why?
🌟 Create a self concept that is super articulate.
Affirm that speaking comes easy to you, to create a neural pathway that allows your brain to obey that command. And your brain will rewire itself to speak with smoothness.
🌟Do surrender meditations. It helps to surrender to anxiety than to avoid it. The Anxiety Guy on YT has some good meditations for this.
🌟Visualize a reality where people are amazed at how well you speak.

can we put the doctor on antidepressants. would that be ok for them....... god knows they need it
Can Gallifreyans take human antidepressants?
Gallifreyans have brains that are way more sophisticated than humans. They've got all the usual brainy bits—like a cerebrum, cerebellum, and brain stems—but with some extra bells and whistles that make them, well, alien. So here's why popping a Prozac might not be so straightforward.
🧠 Gallifreyan Brains
Gallifreyan brains are wired differently. They have an extra lobe specifically for time, a super-charged cerebellum for balance and coordination, and a cluster of nerves that lets them literally rewire their brain pathways. They even have a pineal gland that's beefed up to handle psionic abilities like telepathy. In short, their brains are very complex, which means they process things—including drugs—differently.
💊 The Problems with Human Antidepressants
Metabolism Might Be Too Fast: Gallifreyans have a super-efficient digestive and metabolic system, meaning they break down substances really quickly. A standard dose of antidepressants might just get chewed up and spit out by their system before it can do anything.
Neurotransmitter Differences: Antidepressants work by balancing neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine. Although Gallifreyan brains probably have these two, they might not rely on these chemicals in the same way, or they might have additional ones we don't even know about. Plus, their ability to control their brain's activity means they might override or negate the effects of the meds.
Psionic Side Effects: Gallifreyans use alpha waves for telepathy, and those same brainwaves are linked to mood regulation, which is what antidepressants can influence. Messing with these could throw their telepathic abilities out of whack, leading to issues like loss of telepathic control or psionic overloads.
Regeneration Risks: And then there's regeneration. Since regenerating involves a complete overhaul of their body and brain, anything that messes with their neurochemistry could potentially interfere with this process, and that's not something you want to gamble with.
📝 Types of Antidepressants and Gallifreyan Considerations
There are different classes of antidepressants, and each works a bit differently in humans. These differences could lead to varied effects on Gallifreyans:
SSRIs (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors): These increase serotonin levels by blocking its reabsorption in the brain. For Gallifreyans, the effects could be dampened by their advanced neural controls, and the increase in serotonin might disrupt their natural balance of neurotransmitters.
SNRIs (Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors): These work on both serotonin and norepinephrine. Given the potential extra neurotransmitters in a Gallifreyan brain, SNRIs could have unpredictable effects, possibly overloading the system or causing extreme mood swings.
MAOIs (Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors): These prevent the breakdown of neurotransmitters. However, with the Gallifreyan ability to reroute neural pathways and regulate brain chemistry, MAOIs might interact unpredictably, potentially leading to a dangerous buildup of neurochemicals.
Tricyclics: These affect several neurotransmitters at once. For a Gallifreyan, the broad action of tricyclics could be too blunt an instrument, leading to severe side effects like disrupted time perception, cognitive confusion, or even interfering with the autonomic brain's control over vital functions.
⚠️ Potential Side Effects of Antidepressant Use in Gallifreyans
Considering their complex biology, Gallifreyans could experience a range of side effects from human antidepressants, including:
Telepathic Disruption: Loss of telepathic control or interference with psionic abilities.
Cognitive Overload: Overstimulation of neural pathways leading to headaches, confusion, or even temporary cognitive impairment.
Emotional Dysregulation: Extreme mood swings due to interference with their natural emotional balance.
Impaired Regeneration: Disruption of the regeneration process, leading to incomplete or faulty regeneration.
Metabolic Reactions: Ineffective metabolism of the drug leading to either no effect or toxic buildup.
🏫 So …
In theory, Gallifreyans could take human antidepressants, but they'd probably need something much stronger, specifically tailored to their biology. Standard human meds might not work as intended—or at all—and could even cause some pretty weird side effects that can't be predicted. Given their advanced neural controls, complex neurotransmitter systems, and unique regenerative abilities, Gallifreyan antidepressant therapy would need to be a highly specialised field all on its own. We await the arrival of the Universe's first Gallifreyan Pharmacologist.

New Study Links Brain Damage to Increased Religious Fundamentalism
A recent study has found a correlation between damage to specific brain networks and an increase in religious fundamentalism. Researchers analyzed patients with brain lesions and discovered that damage to a particular network in the right hemisphere was associated with higher levels of fundamentalist beliefs.
This study provides new insights into the potential neural basis of religious fundamentalism and may help us better understand the factors that contribute to the development of extreme religious views.
This is very interesting. I grew up in an old school Pentecostal home. My father was a pastor. My grandma was a pastor. My great grandpa was a pastor. And my great, great grandpa was a pastor. I was a pastor for over 20 years and have since deconstructed. It has felt like re-writing wrinkles in my brain over the past few years. Almost like rewiring it - trying to reconnect pathways that have been so dogmatically programmed in the past. My depression, anxiety, ptsd, and sleep paralysis have all been connected with growing up in this atmosphere. I’m so grateful my children will not have to experience any of this
I hope this study will be a wake up call to others that were trapped like me.

A whole lot of shit is going down in the hospital system that my community health center placement is a part of (being vague on purpose). My supervisor is worried about being laid off in March and I am beyond freaking out. I love this placement and I love her.
Texted T in a panic because once again, once FUCKING again, anything good just gets taken. As soon as I begin trusting, oh hey something good is actually happening, it's gone. Ideation has spiked. Wanted to start crying in supervision today with everything going on. Plus I'm at the end of my rope with nightmares and every fucking thing going wrong in the world.
After some processing of the hospital shitshow, she commented again on how as soon as I get in my head, my whole face and body shut down. How my facial expression closes off, my posture slumps over, trying to make myself small. Yet, when I am present, my face is so expressive and my smile can light up a room. I told her it's hard for me to pick up on it in the moment, especially if I'm triggered.
That's when she said, "It kept you safe, but it will not set you free." My mouth almost dropped open. After she said that, she walked me through some examples of how I can practice at placement in order to rewire the neural pathways. "This is where you practice smiling and making eye contact and standing up straight and being open. You are safe and loved here. You are wanted here. And we are here to support you."
I'm just so beyond heavy. I'm so terrified of losing her. She is such an incredible, passionate person and an amazing supervisor. I've already learned so much in just one month. And while I do believe what she says, the voice keeps saying, "But this is what happens. You open up and get shoved back down where you belong. You don't deserve good or happy. You don't deserve to smile, you don't deserve to stand up straight, you don't deserve to be wanted. You are nothing."

Understanding Manifestation techniques <3
Something that really delayed my manifestations when i first started manifesting is that i did not understand manifestation like it really is, i knew that i was inherently capable of getting what i wanted and i knew techniques would help me get these things - of course i struggled with doubts but in this post i am simplifying it to this as i want to focus on properly understanding manifestation techniques.
So what’s wrong with the way i thought? I thought that manifestation techniques were the tool that manifested for me - rather than me being the conscious creator. Many newbies that come to Law of assumption are fed lots of techniques without fully grasping how law of assumption really works. So they think “okay, i did the technique so now it shows up” and wait around watching the 3D, whereas in reality the techniques work to help you embody the version of yourself who has their manifestation. techniques help you shift states.
Most techniques follow the idea of affirmation repetition and letting go. Think 3,6,9, 5x5x5, robotic affirmations - this is because the whole process is to help your subconscious fully embody the version of you that has whatever you are manifesting, hence the simple use of I am or I have statements. you repeat throughout the day to yourself that you are the person who has those things thereby rewiring your neural pathways (nerd emoji here fr). Letting go then prevents you from overthinking and denying these affirmations :)
A lot of different techniques follow this structure! Even scripting: you write a whole bunch as if you are experiencing your manifestation - each sentence repeating back to you that you already have it. Also Vision boards, they help familiarise your brain with seeing the different events/ objects/ places / people/ emotions whatever you are trying to manifest.
Techniques help you feel who you are when you have these manifestations, they help you affirm to yourself who you are. The 3D has no choice but to reflect back to you who you are.
Now i want to clarify that i fully understand why some Law of Assumption teachers leave it as simple as “this technique brings you your manifestation” - because if you are open enough to that, that can be something you fully accept and embody and in turn you can manifest that way. However, for many people who find law of assumption, there are already many neural pathways that state that something as simple as the 3,6,9 or 5x5x5method cannot get them what they want - their ‘logical’ side of the brain will shut down that idea and not allow that to happen, suggesting that if they wanted to manifest a porsche they need this and that…. you get it. I totally respect if this way of thinking about techniques works for you but, me personally, i have one main problem with it which is that i do not want to form the belief that techniques are the only way for me to manifest. Manifestation is a natural process and I do it all the time!
I hope this helped and don’t be afraid to ask any questions, i am looking forward to posting a lot more regarding manifestation to help and inspire all you baddies to get what you want <3

I saw the rant Twigs went on over on Discord that people on TikTok are trying to cancel her for, but I literally couldn't give less of a shit 😭. 1. I kinda assume the majority of celebrities act and speak that way behind the scenes, you've got to have a level of grandiosity to not only live as a celebrity, but actively persue continuing your career as a public figure. 2. It's low-key funny af. 3. She kinda has a point?... Like yeah tbh who IS doing it like her?... 4. She's a black woman who not too long ago came out of an insanely abusive relationship with a white man that completely rewired her neural pathways and gave her substantial trauma. If she makes a cringe statement here and there that literally harms no one I'm not gonna give a single fuck

okay so as my fourth day update on resisting ocd compulsions, I suppose it's more third day but I started a bit on the 31st, is that you do feel a lot less anxious in your day-to-day life (or at least, I do so far) because you don't allow things to escalate. you do still feel anxious, and at moments I've felt a bit depressive, but it is mostly low-level background noise as I said. there is also a genuinely freeing / calming rush that comes from realising you're in control and do things not because of stray demanding thoughts but because you are a person who can exercise personal choice. you mean I can climb into and out of my bed on either side of it? you mean I can use whatever glass for my water? you mean I can watch a youtube video if I want? you no longer have to make decisions with the mind to not disrupt rituals or acquiesce to ocd demands, and this is unsurprisingly a freeing feeling.
you have to be quite attentive to not falling into rumination or covert compulsions in a way that can make you more mentally exhausted, but I'm guessing this won't be permanent but will feature as I'm trying to significantly rewire my neural pathways and all that. or even just reasserting focus on what I'm doing when I have a thought, sometimes it's as easy as just moving onto the next thought but sometimes it takes more concerted effort that can make you feel like you're quite alert a lot of the time. but ultimately that's not too bad. so far so good.
you also do feel a bit anxious, or at least I do, about not doing compulsions no matter what. as in, you're upset when you do one even momentarily. obviously you fail here and there, but you have to make sure it's momentary and doesn't become a spiral. but I'm sensitive to the fact I want to move forwards towards recovery and not backwards, and this means that the stakes feel quite high, which is, funnily enough, anxiety inducing. but I know feeling crushed when I make a mistake will make this more difficult so I'm dealing more in overall patterns, and the overall picture looks positive.

checking the trending tags on this site is crazy like damn you guys actually care about celebrities??? for real?????? free yourself from this mental prison. take my hand. let's play minesweeper. see? it's not that hard. the numbers tell you how many bombs are adjacent to tile they're on. for example if you see the number 2 on a tile it means there's two bombs in the 8 tiles surrounding it. now if that tile has only 3 selectable tiles adjacent to it, you'll know that two out of those three have bombs. and if, for example, there was a 3 tile next to it that ALSO only had three selectable tiles, you would know that you can flag all three of those tiles, and then you know which of the tiles connected to the 2 tile can be safely cleared. the more you play the more patterns you discover. minesweeper is the original rougelike game. you fail one hundred times before having a single win. every failure brings you closer to victory and god. see? it's so awesome. rejoice in your failures and let the numbers stream into your mind. rewire your neural pathways and watch your completion time get lower and lower as you get faster. beat your personal best. take a screenshot and post it on your tumblr and get 2 notes. play it in your class or lecture to the horror and fascination of those next to and behind you. look middle aged people dead in the eye when they laugh and ask if you even know how to play that game. you know more than them. when you get tired of it play sudoku or solitaire. but never forget minesweeper. ok? here. http://birrell.org/andrew/minesweeper/

As for when?
Eventually.
It’s shitty to say, but even with good things happening, sometimes it’s hard to feel the good.
Like any footpath the neural pathways that are most tread are the easiest to travel on and become habitual. Like feeling bad or angry or scared as a response to certain stimuli.
And again like a footpath, you can create a new one. At first it’s rough going, walking through the brush, but you do it enough times and you’ve worn a new footpath as easy to do as the first one.
And so you can create some new neural pathways. That’s what CBT is all about.
I started using CBT techniques when my PTSD was interfering with my life. And later in life I suffered a head injury which increased my anger response to everything and I needed to employ those same techniques again.
But before I worked hard at changing my mind I spent a long time feeling bad and resigning myself to it.
With the baby on the way you will experience greater neural plasticity. Time to rewire.
All the best
Thank you. I have no idea where to even start with trying to wire myself to be happy, though. It's like trying to figure out how to trap a blue jay when you've never seen one around here.
