I don’t know if anyone else will care about this, but I’ve been rolling an idea for an Riorden-verse AU in my head and I thought you guys might like it?
So the idea is that basically Annabeth Chase has a permanent facial disfigurement (because I think we need more representation in that area for heroes, not just villains).
This AU would come in two different variants, depending on the fact that i’ve already written one of these and I’m currently going to start writing the second one, The Scar (which is mostly about Luke parallels) and The Poison/Acid Scars (which is mostly Percabeth angst).
So yeah, I’m not sure if any of you guys would be interested in reading any of those? 🤷‍♀️

For the Love of God do Something with Kid Icarus
It’s really grinding my gears how Nintendo is just not doing anything with Kid Icarus!?
Mario gets a movie, which I get he’s their mascot, but he’s also a rather bland/static character. Pokemon has retired Ash as the protagonist. Fire Emblem is so unsure of itself that it keeps reusing the same characters and crippling itself with avatar protagonists.
Kid Icarus is adored by its fans and the characters have established themselves out of the main games through Smash Bros. I get that Sakurai doesn’t want to make another, but is there really no one else willing to write a script or concept? For gods sake, if they’re so worried about lacking Sakurai’s input, have him in as an editor or consultant.
Honestly, you don’t even need to make a game. Out of every Nintendo property, Kid Icarus has some of the best material for an animated series. The characters and the dialog are the main source of entertainment in Uprising anyway(although now that Nintendo’s main console has two joycons you could actually have a kid icarus shooter that doesn’t beak your wrist).

if i wrote a book i’d probably give each chapter title a funky little name that adds absolutely nothing to the plot other than humor

Alright from this point forward I’m making a point to avoid all instagram comments under Percy Jackson posts, specifically posts from the official account, because my eyes start to twitch reading the first few comments who are just bitter people who don’t understand that what makes Percy Jackson, Percy Jackson is not what every single second shows but what the overall feel of the world is how important the characters themselves are

Why do I think most people who read and loved PJO or any other Rick Riorden book is mentally and/or emotionally unstable?
Because if you dreamt to go to a camp ran by a horse and an alcoholic, who make the kids wear bright neon orange shirts so it'll be easier to find their corpses - you were mentally and/or emotionally unstable.

Btw I was baking blue cookies to cope with finishing CotG and I suddenly wandered... how many people do you think more or less habitually eat blue food just because of Percy?
Did Rick Riorden just... invent a habit? Like, how insane is that?

Percy’s ADHD hits so close to home in both the books and the newer show, you try to pay attention you really try but you genuinely just can’t. It hits way different in the show though, just showing how he’s trying to pay attention and interact but keeps zoning out or getting distracted, Seeing this kind of representation in media always makes me happy to know that the people in those groups are represented in media. It’s good to see that people with ADHD, dyslexia, PTSD, Depression and many many others are being represented in the Rick Riorden universe.

I've seen so many posts lately about how Jason deserves to be treated better by the Fandom and isn't boring. When they talk about what makes Jason interesting, I'm like, that's a character I want to read about. But in HoO, Jason was, at least in my opinion, boring. I really liked the parts where he interacted with Thalia and Reyna because we got to know more about him and his backstory, but the rest was just kinda bland. His inner monolog isn't fun, I didn't enjoy reading his POV and the only things I remembered about him was his relationship with Piper (that's a whole other topic) and his stupid rivalry with Percy. That's not because Jason's a boring character, but because the way he was written is boring.
I get that PJO is supposed to be a children's book, but it still infuriates me that so many topics are not getting touched upon. Rick Riorden is great at writing funny inner monolog and action scenes, but the more serious scenes and backstories are the weak spot of his books. Jason's backstory and trauma are just forgotten and that's really sad.
Honestly I hated both Percy and Jason in the I-could-kill-you-not -if-kill-you-first scenes, but to Percy I'm attached, I read five books of his thoughts, of course forgive him more easily.
So in conclusion:
Yes, Jason deserved better
No, I don't think you can blame the fandom for finding him boring
I love to read fanfiction and headcannons about Jason
I still don't like reading HoO chapters from his perspective
