Every year Kate holds her own Kane Family Events™️ on the same nights as Bruce has his, a cousin rivalry that's been going on as long as either of them can remember.

Dick occasionally joined the Kane's to spite Bruce the first few years, but eventually settled into his Richy Wayne persona.

Jason attended the first few Wayne galas, and immediately decided he wasn't fond of all the formality. He made a deal with Dick, he'll go to the Kane events and bring back leftovers if Dick does the same at Wayne events.

He ends up having a lot of fun! He's pretty much immediately hoisted over to the kid table, which would be more offensive if 18 year old Bette Kane weren't also there. Eventually someone else joins their little gossip duo, a blonde boy named Joey whose around Dick's age. Apparently his mom is Kate's aunt or something and she runs the New York branch of Kane Corp. He's pretty cool, Jason was a little surprised he couldn't talk but he knows ASL so it wasn't an issue and they have a lot in common!

Flash forward a few months later. There's a new Titan team, and Jason gets to visit them today. He's heard of them all at least, Wally, Kori, and Donna are regular fixtures at the manor, and he's met Roy a few times too. He's NOT expecting to see Cousin Joey lounging on the couch.

"-and this is Jericho, or Joey." Dick introduces, oblivious to Jason's inner turmoil.

"Nice to meet you." He says on autopilot. He opens his mouth to- to? He's not actually sure what he could say but he doesn't get the opportunity either way.

Joey waves back, curt and polite as would be expected of two perfect strangers. There's a secretive little smile quirking his lips, the one he gets after he drops a particularly juicy piece of gossip.

Jason's lips thin, keeping the questions trapped behind his teeth. He nods subtly, and the introductions move on.

It's only at the next gathering, with Bette off at the buffet, the two of them sequestered in the corner, that he makes a realization. "Oh my God auntie Addie is a meta!" He gasps, interrupting the conversation. He'd barely thought it through. He saw Adeline deeply engaged with the annual drinking contest out of the corner of his eye and it fell from his mouth before he could stop it. If Joey is a meta that was born with his powers, he had to get them from somewhere. He's not exactly surprised that Addie is a metahuman, he just hadn't realized.

Joey gives him a weird look, part amused and confused before he seems to follow Jason's train of thought. He shakes his head with a grin, signing father. Like that gives him any context.

Joey doesn't talk about his dad. Whoever he is has never shown up to one of these events as far as Jason could tell. His only clue is the last name Wilson, not one that Joey uses himself, but the one entered in the system at the tower.

He turns that information around in his head, utilizing all of those detective skills to piece the clues together before Joey interrupts him with a gentle nudge.

He's picking me up tonight if you want to meet him, Joey offers, a spark of mischief in his eyes that makes Jason suspicious.

Jason chokes on his own spit as he watches Deathstroke emerge from a Benz, dressed down in jeans and a T-shirt. The man gives Jason a look over, recognizes him, and then ignores him completely. Ushering Joey into the car talking about tickets to some events or other that may or may not be a mission.

I think my ideal scenario is that Charles's new girlfriend will wind up clearly not being the killer, but Charles will become convinced that she is, and after he's spent a while clumsily investigating her for murder she realizes what's up and breaks up with him because she's a normal person who wants a normal life, thus giving Charles the push to finally realize the one person demented enough to be his ideal partner has been right there all along

Mikan Tsumiki as a baby trap.

Mikan Tsumiki as the attempt her mama made to keep her dad with them - an attempt which worked for, at most, three years (until Mikan was three) before he ran off to be with someone else.

Tsumiki as his last name, and Mikan as the last remnants of his being there, something that sometimes makes her mama possessive but quickly turns to loathing for a daughter she never really wanted but is now stuck with, a failure who wasn't able to do the one thing she was created to do: keep that man with them.

Mikan Tsumiki who barely remembers her dad, but remembers how much he and her mama would fight, remembers the looks of disdain he would give her that quickly turned to ignorance before he left them.

Who sees her mama doing the same thing - that disdain turning to ignorance - and doesn't know what she did wrong but is trying so hopelessly to make her mom even remember that she's there.

(And her mom brings other people home and tells them to just pretend Mikan isn't even there, but Mikan knows she's still there, but it feels like she's a ghost. She isn't a ghost.)

Mikan doing whatever she can think of to get one of them to pay attention to her. (Her mom catches on quick and ignores her, except to use her as a table or something to snub her cigarette on, who is maybe the first person to use Mikan as a writing tablet because she ran out of room on her own arm; maybe her mom is forgetful in general, but that's another discussion.)

But the people her mom brings back can't ignore what Mikan is doing because she's so blatant sometimes and she'll let them do just about anything to her.

Mikan Tsumiki who finds Junko's broken body and thinks that maybe if she has her kid she'll have a piece of her still with her. Who transplants Junko's womb into herself, not even thinking about incompatible blood type, because she wants so much for this to succeed.

(Nagito only keeps Junko's arm as long as he does by luck. It's killing him by the time he comes out of NWP, and it's gone within moments of his waking. (It is possible it contributes to his coma. It is possible this makes it harder to wake him. But this is not about Nagito.))

Mikan Tsumiki who finds that Junko's womb is eating her alive and who has to rip Junko piece by piece out of her to survive.

(Mikan as a baby trap who mimics and parallels the person who harmed her the most when she is in the depths of her own despair.)

genuinely astonished that the fandom hasn't utterly latched onto Kasumi and Rumi considering how they are essentially blank slates to an extent and you can pretty much write them however you want. like why haven't I seen any fics about Rumi feeling like something is wrong and going on a quest to figure out why her memory is inconsistent only to slowly wonder in dread if she should even pursue it. how come there isn't a wide fanon consensus on what Kasumi was like to the point where I forget it isn't shown in canon. come on !!!!!!!
