Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?*

hmm, my initial thought was Harry/Marcone but I don't think I even BroTP that (I'm sorry I know the fandom adores them).

So probably Harry/Lara. I think they have an interesting dynamic and Battle Ground does end with an interesting set up but I think I prefer that explored in a platonic way. Partly because I don't see them working out romantically but also because it could be fun to see them navigate a political marriage (or at least the courting since I'm sceptical they'll actually go through with the marriage) but their actual relationship not changing much. Although I wouldn't want an actual "he tries to redeem her" angle, just more mutual understanding and comradery.

The Kaguya arc. Didn't even watch it during my rewatch. Like, why did we even get this arc????

Not really an arc, but Episode 115 (Shippuuden). I just love the episode. It's one of the few fillers I watched on my rewatch

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

Kenyako and whatever you call Optimus Prime x Megatron (specifically their G1 versions). For the former, I just really don't care for it all that much. For the latter, enemies to lovers just isn't my cup of tea.

2. Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?

Taiora. I'm not too fond of it romantically (see 5), but I really like it platonically.

Takuma x Minoru. I don't mind it romantically, I just prefer them to be best friends lol.

Optimus Prime x Bumblebee. I just like Optimus Prime being more of a dad to Bumblebee more lmao.

3. Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?

Someone was still mad at Daisuke for the horrible sin of, oh god forbid, having a crush on Hikari! The nerve of him for trying to break up the pure and sacred bond of Takari!!! *sarcasm intensifies*

4. Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?

Takuya x Izumi. It's just not for me.

5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?

(Sorry this one got really rambly I just got frustrated for a minute lmao)

Takari, and to a lesser extent, Taiora. The shippers are just so obnoxious about their ship not becoming canon.

Maybe it's just my aromantic ass, or maybe it's just me not taking shipping seriously in general, but I really just don't get why people get all angry over ships not becoming canon. I especially don't get it in a show like Digimon Adventure where actual romance takes up a very small amount of the actual story.

Oh, and remember when Taiora shippers tried to retcon the epilogue (and in some cases even 02 as a whole) just so their ship would become canon? Yeah, that was a thing that happened.

I have been curating my MK fandom experience for a long time now, so I don't even remember anymore 😅

i don't much come up with them myself but i am always down to ship more ships!!!!

12. Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

oh. this is a very good question. i'm afraid this might require more memory than i have though, i'm sure there are some, but i can't think of a single one. i don't like any of the unpopular ones that i can think of, so, hm. okay, does relationship arcs count? like Olivia and Elliot getting back into each other's lives, and... okay no that doesn't work, because the whole arc feels very much like it's leading to them getting together, when the unpopular thing about it that i actually like is that they haven't gotten together, so, hm. no, i'm sorry, i'm know there has to be some, but i can't think of any.

22. Popular character you hate?

hate is a far too strong word, but these days i am not a fan of Olivia most of the time. i do love her though, i just don't like that SVU has turned into The Olivia Benson Show and that everything is focused on her and her feelings etc., and tbh i often get annoyed with her these days. idk, i'm trying to think of other characters i dislike on SVU, but i can't think of any that are popular.

23. Unpopular character you love?

i'm gonna go with Ed Tucker here. i know a lot of people love him, but i also know a lot of people disliked him and i've seen quite a bit of the whole "he's stupid because he tries to ruin things for the cops" when imo he was just doing his job, which was being a cop that made sure other cops didn't break the law, which is something that i very much appreciated him for xD (if we focus more on the Barisi parts of the SVU fandom, i'd say Amanda though, i know she's pretty popular, but i also know a lot of Barisi shippers are pretty anti her because she's with Sonny, but i love her more for every gd day that goes by xD)

i have such a shitty memory tbh, i know i could have given much more interesting answers to these if i could just remember anything xD

#9 and 20 for the ask game?

9. That (s) is very frightening because there are quite a few. I’ll just rant about the top one for now though. Most disliked would probably have to be Captain Hook. I think the only reason people like him is for his “good looks”, which, imo, blinds people to his actual personality and how gross and disrespectful he is. He has no regard for anyone’s personal space, for one, and he also creeps on every woman he looks at and its downright cringe-worthy. I don’t understand how this character is loved so highly. On top of this, he also goes through some fake redemption arc, where he is almost suddenly treated like he has made up for all of his misdeeds, but then, continues to be the same person? Continues to conduct misdeeds and be like “Ohh, I’m a better man now love, *smooch*. Did I mention I have a ship, the Jolly Rodger?”. No Killian. You are not. He has not once redeemed himself for any of the shit he has done, and any chance he gets to be malicious he hops at the opportunity, like the 3 or so times he went to Rumple to ask him to do something morally wrong? And during this, he still goes on about how much he has changed and how he is a good person now, without it being ironic in the slightest. Dead faced straight up stating lies and believing them despite them never being resolved. It’s really off putting for me honestly.

However. NOOK? New hook is literally the best rendition of Hook EVER. I LOVE HIM. Who knew that taking the sexual predator mindset of Hook out of the equation would make him a likable character? Crazy idea I know. Also, the whole plot of him just wanting to be with his daughter, who is one of my favorite characters since her presence in season 7, but not being able to because of the curse put on his heart. He literally would do anything for Alice, and he does in the most impactful way possible which I won’t spoil but omg. I love you Nook so much.

20. Absolutely Swan Queen hands down. Without a doubt. Emma and Regina have such immense chemistry that perpetrates through EVERY scene that they are together, and even in ones where they aren’t but can’t stop thinking about one another. Swan Queen is quite possibly the greatest queer-bait the world has ever seen (Although I don’t watch a lot of shows lol). Them being canon is all I could ever ask for, even though it will never happen. I just wanna see the Swan Mills family living happily ever after, they are soo cuteeee.

21. What are your thoughts on crack ships?

you know, i used to be really into crack ships. as obvious by the fact that i was into android!jarvis and bruce banner among others lmaooo and like of course just different crossover pairings from fandoms that had nothing to do with each other. nowadays tho i don't really get into that end of the shipping sandbox -- tho! when i do see a crack ship cross my path, i tend to smile [or grimace, tho that doesn't happen very often lmao] because the concept of a crack ship will endure

mostly i just think it's my brain fog/lack of creative juices outside certain things that makes me no longer be as enthusiastic about crack ships as i used to be

or maybe i just haven't thought up/come across one cursed enough to take over my brain like the good ole days lmao

20. What is the purest ship in the fandom?

Assuming ship means romantic and excluding platonic pairings... I'm not actually sure, because I feel like I have something to criticize about every ship (both in canon and fic). Part of this may be because I entered the series with Grave Peril, found the story generally frustrating and came out of it not finding any of the relationships especially well-balanced.

But anyways, I'm going to be predictable and say Thomas/Justine. Yes, they have a very problematic beginning (especially if you look at the timeline) but after Blood Rites and they sort out their problems, they honestly seem like a sweet couple. And when fics with them aren't being angsty, they make for a fluffy established relationship.

24. Would you recommend XXX to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes, but with asterisks. These books can be crazy fun but Butcher also started writing them in the early 2000s and I'm reminded of that every time I skim through one of the earlier books. His representation is at least well-intentioned but tends to be clunky (just look at the bi women). The lead sexualizes every woman he meets but it's also portrayed as a flaw and the women are full characters in their own right. Despite my criticisms, I do also love (most of) the characters, and even if a reader doesn't really gel with the main cast, there's bound to be a supporting character they can latch onto!

So, yes, a reccomend but probably a warning about some of the other stuff.

Danzo. IDK who he's shipped with, but do you really hate the character that much? Why would you ship them with him? Also, Hagoromo.

Sasuke. Not just because he's my favorite, though! It's mostly because almost everyone either hates his guts or has a crush on him. Hating him can lead to interesting plots/dynamics. Like, I've gone down to reading fics for ships for Sasuke that I didn't know were even a thing.

I'm bullheaded af. if I hate a ship, you'll have to rearrange all the tectonic plates on Earth to convince me to reconsider it.

13. Unpopular opinion about (Din)?

(2AM is for debating whether or not my opinion is about the canon or fanon character and if I'm actually answering the ask, fucking rip) His seemingly reactionary character growth from the end of Season 2 to the end of TBOBF was deeply unimpressive and did absolutely nothing for me. Won't lie that I have some apprehensions about Season 3 but it's fine, I'm fine, we're fine, it's all fine!

16. If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?

I assume we're still on the Mandalorian/Disney Wars TV shows train, right? Right?

I have fucking BEEF with TBOBF. There isn't just anything to change, there is EVERYTHING to change. Get rid of the Luke, Ahsoka, and Grogu scenes. Cut them out entirely. When Din leaves Tatooine on his midlife crisis space bugatti, don't show where he goes. Just show him coming back. Make us fucking guess what he did. Or don't have him go looking for Grogu at all! Have him and Peli work on the space bugatti and then he gets roped into Boba's shenanigans! Don't reunite Din and Grogu in Boba Fett's fucking show. And for the love of fuck, introduce Cad Bane in Episode 1. FAVLONI & CO I AM IN YOUR HOUSE, I AM IN YOUR WALLS, I AM SCREAMING AT YOU DAY AND NIGHT FOR YOUR BAFFLING CREATIVE CHOICES WITH THIS GODDAMN SHOW.
