Il poliziotto salva il conducente privo di sensi dal camion in fiamme: "O morirò qui con lui o lo tirerò fuori".

Il dipartimento di polizia di Salisbury, nella Carolina del Nord, sta onorando uno di loro che ha dichiarato di essere disposto a morire nell'incendio di un'auto pur di salvare l'automobilista privo di sensi intrappolato all'interno. Il tenente Corey Brooks è l'eroe in questione, che ha visto un trattore colpire i guardrail lungo l'Interstate 85 e prendere fuoco l'8 agosto. L'autista, Michael Williams, era privo di sensi.

"Questo camion può partire in qualsiasi momento e stavo pensando 'o morirò qui con lui o lo porterò fuori di qui'", ha detto Brooks. "Quando ha colpito il muro mi ha spaventato perché non capita tutti i giorni di vedere un trattore colpire un muro così velocemente."

Brooks gli urla di scendere, ma si rende subito conto che deve rimuovere lui stesso l'autista, e lo fa dopo aver slacciato la cintura di sicurezza. Un altro pilota che indossava una maglia della nazionale di calcio argentina si è presentato all'improvviso per aiutare Brooks a trasportare Williams dall'altra parte della strada, che l'ufficiale in seguito ha definito un "angelo" e la cui identità rimane un mistero.

Le osservazioni di Brooks sul fatto che il camion fosse in grado di "andare" in qualsiasi momento non erano un'esagerazione, e pochi minuti dopo aver portato in salvo la Williams, si può sentire qualcosa esplodere dalla direzione del semirimorchio. Williams si è ripreso completamente e Brooks ha detto che il calvario è stato il momento più spaventoso dei suoi 25 anni nelle forze dell'ordine.

Seduta del CIPESS del 29 marzo 2023: si approvano una serie di provvedimenti in materia di infrastrutture e ricostruzione post sisma. Nella seduta del CIPESS - Comitato interministeriale per la programmazione economica e lo sviluppo sostenibile - che si è tenuta ieri ,29 marzo 2023 , presieduta dal Vicepresidente del Consiglio dei ministri e Ministro degli affari esteri e della cooperazione internazionale Antonio Tajani, con la presenza del Segretario del CIPESS, Sottosegretario Alessandro Morelli,  si sono approvati una serie di provvedimenti in materia di infrastrutture e ricostruzione post sisma. Il Comitato ha autorizzato, relativamente alla linea ferroviaria AV/AC Verona-Vicenza-Padova, il nuovo limite di spesa del secondo lotto funzionale dell’attraversamento di Vicenza, di 2.180 milioni di euro, congruito da Italferr S.p.a. a prezzi 2023, autorizzando l’avvio dei lavori del primo lotto costruttivo e assumendo, ai sensi della legge n. 191/2009, articolo 2, commi 232 e 233, “l’impegno programmatico a finanziare l’intera opera”, quando saranno disponibili le necessarie coperture finanziarie. Si autorizza inoltre, l'avvio della realizzazione e l’assegnazione delle relative risorse disponibili per il lotto costruttivo n. 3 “Tunnel di base (completamento)” dell'intervento Nuova linea ferroviaria Torino-Lione - sezione internazionale - parte comune italo-francese. Sezione transfrontaliera», dal costo di competenza italiana pari a 1.274,32 milioni di euro. Il Comitato ha espresso, anche, parere favorevole - visto il parere NARS n. 1 del 2023 -  in ordine alla proposta di aggiornamento del Piano Economico Finanziario (PEF) e relativo schema di terzo atto aggiuntivo relativamente alla concessionaria Società Pedemontana Lombarda S.p.A., per il periodo regolatorio 2020-2024. Viene approvata la variazione del soggetto aggiudicatore degli interventi connessi alla realizzazione del “Deposito e restauro reperti archeologici”, quale opera compensativa nell’ambito del più ampio progetto “Linea C della metropolitana di Roma – tratta T3”. L’attuale soggetto aggiudicatore, individuato in Roma Metropolitane, viene sostituito dalla Soprintendenza speciale archeologia, belle arti e paesaggio di Roma e dalla Sovrintendenza capitolina ai beni culturali. Approvato anche un Addendum al secondo “Piano annuale degli interventi di ricostruzione degli edifici scolastici della città di L’Aquila e delle aree colpite dal SISMA del 6 aprile 2009” di cui alla delibera CIPE n. 72 del 26 novembre 2020. L’Addendum, predisposto dal Ministero dell’Istruzione e del Merito e proposto al CIPESS dal Ministro per la Protezione Civile e le Politiche del mare, consta di 12 interventi di edilizia scolastica, aventi un valore complessivo pari a circa 50 milioni di euro. Deep down he knew these were positive feelings, the small jolts in his stomach and the intense heartbeat, the heat on his face. But on the outside he didn't want to admit it so easily because he was confused for himself and his character and the fact that he started to need that. Being all so independent and proud as he is, he needed his time and self reflection to understand his needs. Why exactly am I like this now? This is a completely new thing to me...

He felt like asking you one day, as you were having him lie on your chest, being comfortable with his arms wrapped around you, as you were caressing his soft ears. "Hey... I recently have started feeling things I never experienced before..." This question was actually a difficult one for him. He was keeping it in his chest for quite a while because he didn't even know what to say and the tension was building up in him.

That kind of scared you at first, knowing Leona, he probably wasn't comfortable with all this sudden affection and you stepped back from holding him this close. But you heard a growl as a response, and he grabbed your hand, placing it on his ears once again, as he was so relaxed by this.

"Look... It's not in a bad way... All I know is this but... It is still a lot for me to understand... I didn't know I needed this thing in my life, it feels like my problems are as lightweight as feathers like that... And I want to be like this forever... But it's slightly embarrassing at the same time, I didn't know I could be s- s- sensi- I can't say it..."

You remind him that there is no need to hold his feelings back because it will make him feel better to express everything now that he has his chance.

He does. He flips you on the bed and hugs you tight, pressing you down to his chest and cradling you. Soon, you can hear snoring. He fell asleep again... You roll your eyes and shift in his embrace. You also have some spare time for a nap...

La prima volta in San Luigi dei Francesi.

Percorro la navata per avvicinarmi all'ultima a sinistra, la celebre cappella Contarelli che ospita le tele di Caravaggio.

Nel frattempo, non posso fare a meno di soffermarmi davanti ai dipinti delle prime cappelle: tra i vari autori trovo anche Giovanni Baglione (1573-1646), sbeffeggiato dal Merisi, che ha lasciato un'Adorazione dei Magi (databile alla prima metà del XVII secolo): pregevole.

Ma subito, ecco le storie di San Matteo raccontate da Caravaggio: l'impressione è di essere passati su un altro pianeta.

La comparazione è talmente stridente che, d'un colpo, ho chiarissima la ragione del clamore suscitato da queste tele quando vennero presentate: non è solo una questione di stile e di tecnica, di soggetto e di luce, di naturalismo scenico e di drammaturgia in immagini.

Si tratta di una cesura, netta, con il passato.

E' un viaggio nel tempo, basta fare un passo tra la quarta e la quinta cappella. Un viaggio nel tempo che prescinde dalla datazione delle opere.

Eppure, Caravaggio aveva visto, e tanto, prima di trasferirsi a Roma.

Aveva visto i Carracci. Ma anche le opere dei fratelli Campi, tra le quali "I mangiatori di ricotta" (1580, Musée des Beaux-Arts a Lione) e soprattutto, il San Matteo e l'angelo (1588, chiesa di san Francesco a Pavia) entrambe di Vincenzo Campi (1536-1591). 

Sì, con Caravaggio si fa un salto d'epoca, il talento è mirabile.

Però, esiste sempre un "prima-prima" che pur essendo vicino, si trova molto distante.

E un "prima", un po' più lontano, che lo annuncia.

Niente è schema. 

Nella storia. 

Nell'arte.

Nell'essere umano.

Karatsu/Hatsetsu! (9.28.19)

Welcome to my best day ever. Words cannot describe the absolute JOY my weeb heart experienced by going to Karatsu. My hyper-fixation on Yuri on Ice has not decreased in literally 3 years and we flew into Fukuoka for the express purpose of taking a day trip to the seaside town they based Hatsetsu on.

The morning began with a quick stop to buy a present for Carlen I had my eye on yesterday. I’ve become extremely aware of how fast things sell out in Japan so I was anxious to pick it up before it got stolen away! Luckily for us it was still there! We dropped it off at our place and walked to the Hakata station to catch the train to Karatsu. The train was pretty simple to navigate once we figured it out. We had a tiny mishap where at one point we were supposed to transfer but couldn’t understand the announcement and only noticed when the train started going backwards? Brandi caught on to it quickly and we were able to fix our mistake without losing too much time. Finally we made it to Karatsu station! An iconic moment from the first episode played in my mind as we came down the stairs (in the show it’s an escalator). We were greeted with a couple reminders of why we were here!

Apparently it’s a pretty big thing to go on “anime pilgrimages” in Japan. It used to be super popular to come here for YOI but now a new show has taken over! They’ve replace my beautiful skate boys with some zombie girls! The good news is the extremely friendly tourist desk guy still loaded us up with some YOI maps (as well as literally 100 other maps) and a special stamp! He was really excited to help us on our journey. Brandi and I were feeling pretty hungry tho so we got back on the train to get to the Onsen for some famous katsudon! When we got off at the stop we were surprised to see that it was basically in the middle of nowhere! 

We joked that it was like the Japanese North Carolina. It was hot and humid enough to feel that way too! But we continued on until we found what we were looking for! The onsen looked just like the show! 

Inside we put our shoes in a locker and headed in for some lunch. There was paraphernalia from the show everywhere! You have to order from a ticket machine which was entirely in Japanese but the nice person at reception immediately knew how to help us when we said “Katsudon??”

It was so cool to sit on the tatami mats and enjoy our lunch! Once we were stuffed we made our way back to Karatsu station to hunt down more sights. Getting back to the train station we were forced to wait about 20 minutes for the train to arrive. Unfortunately for us the whole station was COVERED in enormous webs full of HUGE spiders! We were so freaked! We used our umbrellas as a spider shield and were both very relieved when the train finally came.

We made it back and took a quick pic with this lion statue! Karatsu is known for a huge festival they have every year where they make huge floats like this! In YOI it’s a squid not a lion. It still works because the most famous dish from this region is raw (sometimes still alive) squid. 

We walked through the cute shopping streets where Yurio scream VICTORRRRRR before finding a cool lion shirt. They still have the lion shirt up! The streets were kind of empty and weirdly playing some disney instrumental music? We took our photo and continued to Karatsu shrine where Kubo-sensie prayed for the success of her show!

Now fans come here to pray for a season two!

After the shrine we walked to visit the ICONIC maizuru bridge so we could yell VICTORRRRRR over the edge and also run like we’re late for practice!! It was so hot and humid out but we only had one stop left: The castle! Now there are two options. The first is to climb the hot humid hill full of spiders all the way up to the top...or pay $1 to take an elevator! Obviously we went with elevator. From the top we got a stunning view of the whole town!

Then we finished our photoshoot with the castle. 

We walked down the spider forest stairs and back to the train station. After a couple hours we were back home around 7! We stopped at 7-11 for some dinner snacks and after shoving some onigiri and soy sauce eggs in my mouth I promptly fell right asleep at 8pm. Like a happy baby who had too much fun at Disneyland. Brandi kept trying to wake me up but NO! It was bedtime for Deezle.

“Sensi, i know that it is sudden, but please let her stay here for a bit. I truly care about her, i love her, and she was kicked out because of me!” raphs begging eyes looked down at the old rat. He sighed. “My son, it is not me who you should be begging  to, your brothers will feel betrayed for not knowing such an important detail of your life.  Regardless, yes, she may stay..however, i need to talk to her later..” Splinter then turned, motioning raph to leave. (get the fuck out of his room so he can get the rest her deserves) Raph sighed again, heading towards the living room. “Thank you master splinter.” as soon as the door shut behind him he turned to 3 faces in his. “What was that about?”

“who was that pretty girl you brought in?”

“why did you bring a crying girl in here?”

Leo whipped around looking at donnie and mikey. “What girl?!”

when they just stared at him, he turned back to raph, anger in his eyes.

“What girl?! What the hell raph!”

he poked at raph’s plastron “ you know we aren't supposed to bring anyone in here!”

Raph growled, shoving his hand away. “She had nowhere else to go,i was there, and i'm the reason she got kicked out of her house!”

“oh, and why were you in her house hm? Jesus raph, i know your lonely and all, but you can’t just go following random chicks-.”

that comment made raph snap. “You fuckin-”

before raph even finished his own sentence, he slammed leo into the back wall, donnie and mikey backing up with wide eyes.

“Ya know, i know i aint the best guy in the world, but you really think that lowly of me leo?”

he pushed his hands against leo “ She's my fucking girlfriend, of 7 months. Is that had to believe ?”

his voice raised higher and higher “ hm is that so fucking hard to believe that my angry, ugly ass could get a human to  like me, you really fucking think that i would follow some random ass girl home and what?”

Raph wanted to go further, scream at him even more, but he saw the guilt that was now in leo’s  eyes. He let go of leo and turned to mikey and donnie.

“She’s gonna be around here for a bit. She’s been through alot. Just. you'll meet her in the morning.”

he paused, and turned to leo. “And im not fucking  going on patrol tonight, so don't come ask.” he started towards his door, hoping and praying that you didn’t hear him screaming at his brother. As he got to it, he breathed out, trying to calm himself.

He knocked on the door slightly. “Babe?”

He opened the door stepped inside and shut it. His eyes went wide, and then looked you up and down, like a lion and its prey. His breath hitched, seeing that only his hoodie was on you. HIS hoodie, and nothing else, it reached a bit below your thighs.his shock turned to a devilish grin, every angry thought from before melted away. That's what you did to him, that's what you always did, you could oh so easily just make his problems disappear, you calmed him, you were like a drug that he couldn’t get enough of. “What’s this sweetheart?” he approached you, looking down at you with loving eyes you looked back up at him, a slight smirk on your lips, you knew what you were doing. “I don’t know, i just kinda saw it on the pile and was like, ya know what Raph would find really hot?”

you paused, wrapping your arms around his neck, as you did so his grin got wider. “Me, with nothing else, but underwear, and his hoodie on.”

His hands slowly drifted down from your back to your ass, squeezing slightly and chuckling when you scoffed at him.

“Jump baby.”

You did as told, he held you up by your legs as they wrapped around him, his lips instantly going to your in a rough needy kiss. He pushed you up against the wall, his tongue begging for entrance, you gladly allow him ,and he immediately gains dominance.

He pulls back slightly, lust prominent in his eyes. “Ya know just how to get me going doll.” he went towards your neck, immediately sucking, and biting. You knew he was gonna leave a mark.. Or few, depending on how far you let him take this. He would never force himself upon you, you two had never gone the full way, sure you had done some..sexual things, but not like full blown sex, you were scared of that, and he was scared of hurting you, along with the fact, of he doesn’t know if he could get you pregnant or not, and he most definitely does not want little raphaels and (y/n)s running as muck..not yet at least. His kisses drifted to your collarbone, and you let out a light moan, making him grin, and bite harder. He pulled away looking at the work he had done. “Perfect. Now everyone can see that your mine.” he gave you one last rough kiss, before laying you down in the bed. He quickly flipped the light switch before crawling back in with you. You curled into his side, as his arms wrapped protectively around you. “Nite Raphie.” you snuggled your head harder against his side. He chuckled. “Night baby.”
