Structured as a howcatchem (or "reverse whodunit") mystery with the audience seeing the murder first, then the NYPD investigating the case of the week, the Kings' throwback to the network procedural crime drama offers an amusing watch from week to week.

Zallian's fresh but still cold-blooded take on Tom Ripley makes for an exciting remake. While the more methodical, episodic pace stretches certain plot contrivances about a man living double lives yet interacting with the same small pool of townspeople, Ripley makes the cat-and-mouse game of a con job with more than enough style and flair. There's an elegance to the strikingly pulpy European material.

I took a pause in doing commissions bc I'm still trying to find my groove while also dealing with chronic pain stuff. Doing requests takes the stress out of drawing things for others bc I don't have to think about money (a position I'm very fortunate to be in) but it also keeps me in the swing of things bc I'm still /technically/ doing stuff for other people.
