𝓈𝓎𝓃𝑜𝓅𝓈𝒾𝓈: When Kamukura doesn't do his due diligence of fucking you himself, you take matters into your own hands– by humping his foot.

“But, Kamukura…” You tried, the ache between your legs pulsing up your spine and you nearly fell to your knees as he denied you…again.
“I said no.”
You grabbed a hold of his leg as he walked up the stairs, his long hair cascading down his back as he turned to look at you. His targeted red eyes bore into the back of your skull, you thought as you gave him a pout. “Please, Izu– I’ll be good, I promise.”
“Y/N.” He was as stoic as ever, not an ounce of remorse seeping through his demeanor as he looked at you, your thighs clasped together as you tried to stop him from going up the stairs. Instead, he dragged you by his ankle up them and into the room. You didn’t dare let go of his leg as he sat down in the plush red chair that sat near the edge of the window curtain.
“Please fuck me… I’ll do you right, I swear.” You whined out as he crossed his one leg over the other and you couldn’t help but sit on the one that was level to the floor. You knew if he wanted, he could pin you down in an instant, away from him but for some reason he didn’t so much as lift a finger. He ignored you though and you couldn’t help yourself any longer– you needed him, you needed your Ultimate Hope.
You slid your panties over to the side and pressed your bare cunt to the cold material of his shoe, your senses tingling with ecstasy and a twinge of guilt. It hovered up your spine and you started to grind against it, the tip of his shoe digging into the swell of your clit and you muffled a moan with the back of your hand as slick trailed down the black shine of it. You hoped he didn’t notice, but why would you even think that? Of course, he noticed; the man was nearly a deity in your eyes and in the world of tragic despair– also he could feel your hips rocking against his person, you weren’t very subtle.
“Getting off on my shoe? How pathetic.” Kamukura said, a slight tease evading his tone but it was mostly snuffed by sheer irritation– honestly you couldn’t tell as you shoved his shoe harder against your cunt with a whimper, trying hard not to touch him besides his foot. Your arms stretched back to accommodate your balance and you thrusted up against his shoe as it came up further, the entire underside of it plastered against your heat now. You peered up at him and he had his arms crossed, with a lean to one side as you pleasured yourself against the heel of his foot.
His foot covered you whole and all you wanted to do was grab at his ankle and push further into the delicious pleasure that snaked through your veins, but you knew he wouldn’t let you touch him again– not when you’ve already disobeyed him on the staircase. He wasn’t that lenient usually, you’ve gotten thrown against the wall a few times due to your incompetence and it made you quiver against him, the power– his power that he held within his hands ready to dismiss you anytime he wished. Your orgasm approached as you felt a slight pressure from his leg and your eyes snapped open quickly, not even realizing you had slipped them shut.
Was he actually enjoying this…? You glanced up at him with clouded eyes, every nerve bundling up into your orgasm and threatening to burst as his slack eyes stared back at you with usual boredom.
“K-Kamukura…please.”
“Go ahead, do what you want.”

My Personal Weatherman Ep. 6-No Subs Watch
To refresh your memory, this is me watching through the link to an un-subtitled version of My Personal Weatherman and sharing my thoughts as someone whose command of the Japanese language is based on illegally downloaded Sailor Moon episodes circa 2002. Spoilers may occur, but it is UNLIKELY that they will be the result of dialogue. Let's go...
Tumblr media
-Mizuki with the glasses....that's so cute.
-Wow dude, you hide like fucking Scooby Doo. (Sidenote: does anyone actually believe that Yoh doesn't know the tracker is there? Especially if it's like the next day? He knows and he left it there.)
-Segasaki is so pitiful. Yoh is equally pitiful.
-Mr. Man-san is definitely just eavesdropping and pretending to read. I'm certain of it.
-And I was correct.
-FLASHBACK!!! Yay! I was so excited to see their beginning. I get it Yoh...We all get it.
-Goddamn Mizuki in these soft cardigans....I shall perish!!!
-This flashback is so cute, Yoh is drawing him, which is so precious, but it's also kinda crazy how they feel younger, especially Yoh.
-Oh no! Yoh has been perceived! It is the beginning of the end for him.
-I'm guessing this is some upperclassmen respect/hazing whatever, and they sent him to go buy snacks so they wouldn't have to.
-Haha...I'm pretty sure Yoh admitted to knowing Mizuki's name because he's been watching him. So cute.
-That whisper...I'm wearing headphones and I got shivers. But also...have we heard him call him Mizuki in the series before? I feel like he sticks to Segasaki, but I could be misremembering.
-This man's backpack straps are way too loose, it's distracting me.
-Segasaki (or his actor...both?) have the cutest lil nose.
-I am somehow now more frustrated with Yoh's belief that Segasaki doesn't really love him. That man could not have been more obvious 3 years ago.
-I feel bad for Segasaki, he hates this so much.
-Mr. Man-san feels so kind. I need them to start going on double dates as soon as Segasaki and Yoh get their shit together.
-Oh no....I fear a misunderstanding is about to occur.....
-Behind the fucking sheer curtain Yoh??? Both of you must be awful at hide and seek.
Tumblr media
-Well I can't wait to translate that onscreen text later, I'm sure it was hilarious.
-IDK what Segasaki said, but I'm gonna guess it's something like "Don't you know I've been worried about you?" We'll see if I'm right.
-Mr. Man-san....the only appropriate reaction my guy, honestly.
-Apology, I understood that.
-Their manga versions are so cute. I might actually buy the source manga.
-Hmm....that was an interesting reaction....
-I guess he didn't know about the tracker...my guy have you not opened your bag this whole time??
-I still kinda hate this weathergirl. I know it's pretty anti-feminist of me, but I just can't with her.
-Poor Mizuki looked like he was about to have a fit....and Yoh knows that was not his on-camera persona....I do love that they show how well they know each other, even if they can't communicate for shit.
Well this was fun. And far too short. I'm so bummed this series is only 8 episodes, I need at least triple that.
Oohhh...more flashbacks next week too....and rain kisses....hot.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER Embraces the ‘Devil’s Voice‘ in ’The Name Chapter: Temptation’ Teaser
youtube
With the release of TOMORROW X TOGETHER‘s forthcoming EP, The Name Chapter: Temptation, drawing closer, the K-pop boy group unleashed one of the many concept teasers to come from the project on Tuesday (Dec. 20) — and it’s an ominous one.
The short, 15-second clip features an animated drawing of a window decorated with a sheer curtain. From behind it, a shadowy figure appears and walks across to the other side as the window floats in space. By the end of the short, Korean text comes into view and reads, “The devil’s voice I met at the window at midnight was sweet.”
The new teaser comes after TXT confirmed the release date and official title of The Name Chapter: Temptation. The EP will be released on Jan. 27, but leading up to the mini album’s arrival, several concept teasers will be rolled out in early January. The mini album’s tracklist and official poster will be dropped on Jan. 19, while the album preview will arrive on Jan. 22. Two teasers for the project’s lead single will be shared on Jan. 24 and 25. Following the EP’s release, the K-pop group will perform a special showcase on Jan. 28.
The Name Chapter: Temptation will be the group’s first music release since the arrival of its fourth mini EP, minisode 2: Thursday’s Child. That project was a hit for the K-pop stars. It spent a total of 14 weeks on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, where it peaked at No. 4. Thursday’s Child achieved even more success on the Top Current Album Sales chart, where it spent 20 weeks on the tally and hit No. 1.
See TXT’s new concept teaser in the video above.

Warning: From here on out, the tone and plot are going to get darker than typical Robodoki fare.
Tread cautiously, and please take a break if it messes with you mentally! And for those ready to face sheer despair...enjoy the show.

ep16 (part 1): for some reason I didn't think it could get worse
15 is one of those eps that you need to follow with 16 asap so here we go
Tumblr media
BLOOD IN THE LOTUS PONDS. FUCKED UP
this is shit like the CR attack - lots of violent scenes fading in and out. effective as shit
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHY DID LITTLE ARCHER BOY DIE LIKE THIS!!! at LEAST give him a kill like this felt so pointless and empty from a narrative point of view. 'well sometimes in war people die randomly' I know that! but this is a story it's supposed to mean something. it was just to make this scene sadder and I for one do not appreciate that
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've seen that translated as 'my lady' in other services and I like that one better. more formality/feels more ancient fantasy setting
Tumblr media
and this bastard idiot man walks in and IMMEDIATELY gets stabbed. myu was holding down the fort for what could have been HOURS and this fool stumbles in and just dies within 30 seconds. GOD jfm you useless man
Tumblr media Tumblr media
swear jyl has some kind of gift that lets her portend when her family members are about to die
Tumblr media Tumblr media
there's a lot of horrible stuff that happens in this series but honestly nothing gets me as much as this scene. the sheer. idk. simplicity of it? unlike a lot of the convoluted storylines later on, this is something so straighforward that can and has happened to so many people. their home has been taken over and their family and friends have been murdered. they're watching the bodies of their shidis and shijies being lined up by a force that came into their home and destroyed it and insulted it and defiled it and will now claim it as theirs. and it's happening right in front of their eyes. it's just something so raw and in-your-face and impossible to ignore or sugarcoat. one of the worst scenes to watch
Tumblr media
and then THIS. honestly I don't really understand the significance of the hand-holding and I don't think it added anything to the characters or story. I don't understand why so much time was spent on it. what did they love each other after all? deep down? I don't really believe 'deep down' matters after what a mess their relationship was and how much it hurt their kids
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a long time ago I read a meta post about how jc hearing his mom publicly mocked for caring about someone who didn't care for her back is one of the reasons he's so fucked up about expressing affection to wwx and why he takes wwx leaving so hard. his mom is dead and humiliated on the floor, her corpse desecrated. I don't think he ever got over this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and wwx too obviously. just horrific trauma happening before our eyes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
going to say something controversial but I think xz is a better ugly crier than wcz. wcz is really good but more looks scared in most of his crying scenes, but xz just lets his face crumple with the force of his grief
Tumblr media
WITH THE CURTAINS??!!! GIRl
Tumblr media
damn...conquest is fucked up huh
Tumblr media
gorgeous shot 10/10 no wonder its always giffed
Tumblr media
I guess jfm had something he wanted to say before dying but idc.
Tumblr media
jc would be so dead without wwx...
Tumblr media
DID HE SLAP WWX. HOLY SHIT. after that scene with his mom and wlj and that line about servants knowing their place that REALLY sends a message. god damn, I'm really mad at him for that
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this strangulation scene went on for a terrifyingly long time. wwx had to struggle to breathe when it ended. really scary to watch
I don't believe jc views wwx as A Servant but I also don't think he really views him as his equal either because his behavior towards wwx is uniquely aggressive and disrespectful. wwx may be treated as a young lord by most of the world, but he's also not in a position to fight back or hurt jc in any way, and he can't really leave the jiangs when he's being mistreated because he feels he owes them a life debt
Tumblr media
anyway. gorgeous shot here
Tumblr media
oh god. he's so young
Tumblr media
I think wwx is keeping himself from crying because. he's not allowed. fuck
Tumblr media
shit, that's a lot

Part 10 via Pitchfork and inDepth look/review of Dirt One of the great hard-rock ballads, “Rooster” dramatically broadens the scope of Dirt and brings its themes into greater focus. It’s an album about hard drugs and depression, but it’s also about men trapped in terrifying conditions beyond their control and trying to negotiate their doom through sheer bravado, if not self-delusion—which, of course, are often one and the same. Cantrell has said that the song acted as a bridge to reconcile with his father after decades apart, and on an album that’s otherwise obsessed with misery, “Rooster” is the lone ray of light breaking through the tightly closed curtains. In 1993, music journalist Ann Powers caught up with Alice in Chains on the Dirt tour and found a group wandering the wilderness. The show she attends is a mess—Staley and bassist Starr are wasted and miss their cues—and she sees a band on the verge of collapse. “They’re like the kids in Lord of the Flies, stranded in strange territory with no clear rules of conduct,” Powers observed. “They’re trying to survive, but they’re eating themselves alive.” Soon, the band would fire Starr for increasingly erratic behavior, before spending the year touring the world, including a co-headlining slot on the 1993 Lollapalooza tour. Exhausted, they quickly recorded Jar of Flies, which sounded more like Zeppelin III than Master of Reality; nonetheless, it became the first EP to debut at the top of the Billboard album chart. But Staley’s heroin addiction never disappeared for long, and the band was forced to drop out of an opening slot for Metallica the next year, as well as the Woodstock ’94 bill. • To be continued • Photographer - AnnaMaria DiSanto (The “Saint”) —————————————————— #nehistripesseattle #LSMS #LSMSAiC #aliceinchains #laynestaley #chainer4life #mikestarrforever #1990s #seankinney #jerrycantrell #williamduvall #mikeinez #the1loveaic #grungeera (at Seattle, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/CkzamgHJ23f/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Heyo
What an episode, it was magnificent, I need more!
I needed to tell you a thing. I actually convinced a v good friend of mine to watch the show with me on Friday night, and she genuinely sobbed in my arms for 10 min straight after ep 5 and now we will watch each episode together in the future and just the power of this show, my guy.
I personally had a hard time really focusing on anything deeper than surface level for this episode because I think I was caught up Pat's chase, which is real rare for me to do, the sheer will of Pat went through the screen for me. I even had a had time focusing on the pov aspect, like which lens to watch it through. May I ask you thoughts?
But, I have got a future thought for now. The shot of Pat looking sad, walking from Pran's room back to his, very well could be a parallel to Pran in Pat's room in ep 2. They could be having a flirt-off in Pran's room and Wai + co knock, forcing Pat to hide now and Pran to distract. Just a possibility, mayhaps.
Also, in the end credit scene of Pat holding Pran's bag, why does Pran have a chain wallet? Like, why?
All in all, head empty, no thoughts ep 6 was sooo good.
Hope you had a good bad buddy day.
Reliable Anon
heyy, my dear reliable anon!! this episode was really good, and i'm very glad that you found someone to share the joys (and indeed heartbreaks) of this magnificent series with!
i agree with you, my first instinct also wasn't to analyze anything deeper about it all, and i think it's in big part due to the fact that - for the first time ever - we didn't really need to get into either of the boys' heads to see what's happening. pat was so open and honest about what he wanted, and pran was also more vocal than he's ever been (besides, even the things that were left unsaid we figured out episodes ago), so this time around we really didn't need to dig deeper to understand what was happening, which is why we didn't.
i personally think we are still in pat's pov, though the curtain isn't completely closed on pran's pov either. but what i think solidifies the fact that we are seeing things mostly through pat's eyes is that we haven't been shown the entire conversation pran had with his friends, and that we had this tense scene where we were definitely in pat's shoes, expecting the possibility of him being beaten up (though we did know a little more than him, and we had no doubt pran would come up with something to protect his boy, it was definitely still an anxious moment which we all shared with pat).
as for that future scene, perhaps you are right, but i'm annoyed just thinking about it because at this point i'm very annoyed by wai and louis ngl.
also, not you roasting pran's fashion choices kfjglkdfjglkfdgj a chain wallet can be convenient sometimes, ok? maybe they are on a trip away somewhere, and it's easier to carry money that way. perhaps the beach again? (what an adorable thought, though? imagine if that beach becomes a special place for them, and they return there from time to time?)

just ran into your art today and. would you like to elaborate on your gay lucky in love rewrite 👀
boy would i
as always shoutouts to @crystalfloe for pitching + workshopping w me on this, ESPECIALLY on this one since it was mostly her idea!
we open up with a shot of shadow circling through amity park, looking in the windows of various citizens. danny is face-down, fast asleep; valerie is repairing some gear; tucker is being a gamer; sam is watching a horror movie; paulina is also watching a horror movie. shadow passes by all these houses and gets more and more annoyed, until he peeks the window of a large, elaborate house:
dash has drawn the curtains, turned the lights off, turned a fan up. this is his deep dark secret. he’s sitting on his bed, face lit by the dim rose glow of his laptop. the volume is turned down so low but the viewer still sees and hears him whisper along to the movie: “but we could never be together, jessica...” “but... I love you...” he’s watching a HORRIBLY cheesy hallmark romcom.
but of course nobody can KNOW he’s into chickflicks and romcoms! he’s a tough football man and it would trash his rep if anyone knew he secretly craved those deep but silly romantic stories... the tenderness, the love...
shadow has specifically been looking for a romantic.
shadow slips in and ‘possesses’ dash. possesses in quotes, because, well, even though dash is dumb and therefore easy to possess, shadow is ultimately a glorified dog, and not a fully sentient ghost; he doesn’t have any total agency in dash, and the most he can do is mess around with his emotional and hormonal balance. shadow is DISMAYED, upon entering, that dash’s deep romanticism is so repressed, and so immediately gets to work digging it out of the recesses of his brain, putting it in the forefront.
(see, what danny and the audience will learn later is, shadow is a ghost that subsists off of love. romantic love especially. he first found a ‘host’ in johnny (before he died!) because johnny and kitty were madly, ridiculously in love, and johnny especially admired kitty beyond words. they still do love each other, of course! but like all healthy relationships, they’ve learned to take breaks, and they have a ‘break week’ once every few months.)
(this, naturally, drives shadow up a WALL; after a certain level, displays of romance become like dog treats, and shadow has been downright spoiled by the overabundance of love between the two. when they take a BREAK WEEK and aren’t constantly showering each other (and therefore him!) with affection, he needs to go find another host, because clearly they do not love him and have forsaken him. they kick miette.)
since shadow’s prime host for so long has been johnny, his understanding of a few... norms... are bleeding over. dash shows up to school with a leather jacket and a motorcycle (his family’s rich, of course he’s had one). his hair is slicked back and the cologne is overpowering. while danny and others think it’s just another asshole stage of dash, kwan (as well as the popular kids, but kwan especially) notices something’s wrong. it’s not quite... dash.
yeah, he’s happy-- well, he’s also strangely flirty with everyone (shadow is testing the waters, trying to find out who is the best match). and kwan LOVES that he’s happy. but he’s a little too daydreamy, he laughs a little too long. he is having horrible luck all day, but he just keeps taking it in stride. dash is concerned with appearances, but this is the first time he’s put in effort like it was for other people to see. he’s a little too suave. his eyes reflect just a little too much light.
and then-- luck of luck-- shadow finds the big name repressed crush.
fenton! of course!
danny did NOT want to deal with dash towering over him and slamming him into the wall, but he didn’t KNOW how to deal with dash leaning over him and telling him he looked cute. danny’s flustered! of course he is! well, yeah, dash is an asshole, he knows that, yeah he’s a stuck up rich kid, YES SAM, he knows this (sam is not fooled by a little hair gel and some high heeled leather boots), but you can’t deny he’s, well, built. and he’s weirdly suave? and nice. he’s actually being really nice. what no of course DANNY hasn’t had a crush on DASH this whole time or anything. shut up.
the fact that dash asks him to meet him in the woods at lunch (because sam, jazz, and even tucker are increasingly concerned with dash just making moves on danny, afraid it’s some new form of abuse; and lancer keeps perceiving it as bullying since that’s their dynamic and breaking it up) and he GOES is just. well. that’s unrelated isn’t it.
they kiss and danny is starting to maybe think dash just had a homophobic middle school experience like everyone else when- his GHOST SENSE GOES OFF. RIGHT HERE? RIGHT NOW??? (gee what could be causing it?) dash cracks a joke about him using too many breath mints and danny panics, bullshits an excuse, and runs off to transform and find the ghost.
dash thinks he’s been rejected and almost shakes out shadow’s possession from the sheer dismay, but shadow doubles down. no, no, we can find another crush. somewhere.
...oh hey! the ghost boy!
time to double down on the ghost aesthetics.
danny’s just finished fighting kitty (”where’s your boyfriend” “that’s none of your BUSINESS!”) when there’s a motorcycle rev underneath him. there’s... dash, again, but.... something feels very, very wrong.
danny lands, cautious. “hey phantom... you into biker dudes?” “don’t you have... a boyfriend...” “heee sorta dumped me in the woods”. and then danny gets close enough for his ghost sense to go off. and it clicks.
“dash, you’re possessed”
this is the ONE THING that shadow can’t have. this could be the perfect romance, and THIS GHOSTCHILD thinks he knows more about ROMANCE than SHADOW??? PSH. cue fight scene! dash of course is grappling with both not wanting to hurt phantom, but wanting this ghost out of his system, because of COURSE he’s possessed geez why else would he want to kiss FENTON of all people-- but shadow REFUSES to leave, slowly building more and more monstrous elements onto dash, darker eyes and claws, erasing his legs until it’s not dash as much as it is a large shadow monstrosity with dash at the center.
danny eventually realizes he needs a new strategy and runs for it. after a decent amount of bickering with sam/tuck, they realize that the only ones who would know how to tame shadow are.... kitty and johnny.
turns out, when shadow went missing, kitty NOTICED. (johnny didn’t! he was having a fun alone time working on his bike with loud music.) this is bad. why? well, johnny is NOT a very powerful ghost. in fact, he’s sort of the opposite. he and shadow have a symbiotic relationship of sorts; it’s shadow’s residence in him that gives him any powers at all, like the basic healing factor a ghost has, or phasing, or flying. without shadow he’s essentially a zombie, who can still be hurt in the ghost zone. NATURALLY, kitty decided to run off and retrieve shadow (because this isn’t the first time he’s run away on break week, always throwing a tantrum) before anything horrible could happen to Johnny; this is what she was doing in Amity in the first place
this is the part of the story where i reveal that the ending isnt fully fleshed out yet. in the rough conversation right it ended up with kitty and johnny trying to FORCE shadow back into johnny, and they’re getting annoyed by it, and kitty goes “well this wouldn’t be a problem if YOU weren’t so LOVING AND SENSITIVE” and johnny goes “well i wouldn’t LOVE YOU so much if you weren’t BRILLIANT and BEAUTIFUL” and they have a whole argument like that. its very funny. and shadow ends up still running away and possessing dash again.
ah, in typing this out, i have figured out an ending!
the above fight and run away happens, and there’s two endings: one where shadow possesses dash, and one where shadow possesses danny. in both, of course, the other party realizes the only way to get shadow out is through making shadow feel safe enough to leave, aka... flooding the room with romance. if dash is possessed, danny and co. realize that danny’s the prime candidate to... be the suave lil boy. if DANNY is possessed, sam and tucker begrudgingly explain that, uh, yeah, phantom might have a crush on you, he’s just really controlling of his emotions. (also kwan! kwan definitely plays a part if dash is possessed, maybe even in saying “uh... he has a bigger crush on Fenton. can you guys get him instead?” and danny. explodes)
blahlbahblah luring shadow out by being gay happens and shadow gets scooped back up by the 13s. as much as the previous argument is funny it might also be very funny if johnny literally noticed none of this, and kitty shows up like ‘you lost this’ and johnny is like. ‘...shadow? when did you leave’. anywho.
that’s the concept! the MAIN difference is that johnny and kitty actually have a very healthy and sweet relationship, and the conflict, ironically, comes from the fact that they love each other TOO much. i do love ‘dash finds out’ reveals but as far as an episodic romp goes, this might not be the best ep for him to discover the secret in. however in a oneshot or something of course you could slot that in there excellently i believe.

Please Don't Leave Me Chapter 6
Title: Please Don’t Leave Me
Author: SirenPrincess
Description: What if Aleksander hadn’t answered the door when Ivan interrupted the war room kissing? What if Aleksander and Alina had a bit more time to get to know each other before Baghra told her his true identity? Alina is the only one who can comfort Aleksander through his nightmares. Will she leave once she knows who he is?
This story is based on the show version and features a soft on the inside, hard on the outside Aleksander with an emphasis on emotional hurt/comfort and angst. If you are looking for lots of hurt!Aleksander thoughts, then this story is for you. Mal exists but pretty much solely to cause Aleksander some angst. Don’t worry. It will be a Darklina ending.
Chapter 1 is a missing scene at the end of Ep 4, and Chapter 2 takes place alongside Ep 5 and then diverges from canon there.
Pairings: Aleksander Morozova/Alina Starkov, bits of Ivan/Fedyor
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Grisha are oppressed in this universe, and I don’t shy away from showing the horrors of that. There may eventually be mentions of canon-typical torture (Fjerdan pyres), death of family members, and cruelty to Grisha children. It’s not the focus, but that backdrop is definitely there and comes up as characters discuss their past.
In this chapter: The horror of Aleksander's past combines with the recent trauma of Marie's death (which was almost Alina's) to haunt Aleksander. In other words, Aleksander's PTSD is causing nightmares.
Chapter 6
Aleksander glanced at the clock. It was a good hour after he was supposed to awake Alina for his turn for sleep, but seeing her sleeping so peacefully, comfortably in his arms, he just couldn't bring himself to do it.
The night before, she had softly reprimanded him for letting her sleep so long when he needed rest too, but she had stopped quickly when she saw his reaction. He hated to be chastised for caring for others. It reminded him of when Baghra had punished him as a child for caring too much about Grisha. He couldn't help but care for Grisha, even if their lives seemed temporary. And there was absolutely nothing that could convince him not to prioritize Alina over himself. She was needed. He was needed only to support her.
He could give her a bit more sleep. Maybe he could fall asleep on his own tonight and be alright. He had been doing so well since Alina had been helping him. If he could just hold onto that feeling of being enveloped in her warmth, maybe he could safely doze off. He was getting drowsy already. He focused his thoughts on their pleasure earlier in the night, the taste of her, the way her hips moved when he found just the right spot. If the happy thoughts could get him a peaceful sleep for even an hour, that was an hour more sleep that she could have.
He dreamed of taking Alina horseback riding again to their spot. It was quiet without all the interruptions of the Little Palace. She rode with him so he could feel her in his arms, smell the sweetness of her skin. Once they arrived, he dismounted and held up his hand to help her down. They could sit and talk and share dreams for the future. At their spot, it seemed like happy endings weren’t too rare to hope for outloud.
But then something changed. Shadows sliced through the air, formed a curtain, a wall. The Fold. It didn’t belong here. How was it so close? He quickly stepped in front of Alina to protect her as he stared at the darkness that had haunted him since its creation.
Something was coming out. To his horror, he realized it was Zlatan and he had brought his army. How had they crossed the Fold? It didn’t make sense, but there was no time to think on the how because Aleksander knew the why. Zlatan was there for Alina.
He raised his arms to make the blade for the Cut, but, no. No! He jerked and struggled. Someone had his wrist. How had they gotten to him so quickly? Not his wrists, not his wrists! He kicked and even tried to bite, but try as he may to turn to get to the man holding him, he could not even see him. Not the wrists. Anything but the wrists. He could not stand any pressure on his wrists. It was his worst nightmares come to life. The man had the other wrist now as Zlatan approached.
“Alina, run!” he cried. “Don’t worry about me. Just go!”
“Aleksander!” she screamed back as the army moved towards her.
His other wrist was wrenched painfully behind his back. The bar put between them was the perfect length to stop him from being able to touch his hands. He used every ounce of his strength and adrenaline to try to break the bar, but they were smart enough to switch to steel now. It would not budge. Maybe if he could dislocate his shoulder ...
“Aleksander!” Her cry broke through all thoughts. All that mattered was saving her, somehow. He would die if he could just get his hands free from their bonds for just a moment to protect her.
Zlatan was approaching.
“No!” he screamed, struggling against the cuffs around his wrists more and more. “Alina, it has to be you. You have the strength. Find it in you. Cut him down! We cannot let him take you!”
Zlatan swung his sword, and her head rolled to the ground. Aleksander screamed and screamed, the wail of someone so devastated by loss that there was no will to contain himself. Shadows erupted from him in every direction; he didn’t even know how with his hands bound, but he did not care if they consumed the whole world. Nothing mattered without Alina.
And then there was her light breaking through it all.
He blinked and he was no longer outdoors. Bed posts were in his view within Alina’s blinding light. He blinked again. His shadows swirled outside the ball of light, but they bounced off every time they came near her dome.
He gasped for air, but his throat was closed off. No air would come. He glanced frantically inside the light and found Alina, her head still connected to her body, hovering over him with worry.
“Aleksander?” she asked. “Are you back with me? Please stop the shadows. I’m not sure how much longer I can hold them off.”
He tried to move his arms to command the shadows to stop, but he found his wrists still paralyzed, frozen by some imaginary bar. He tried again for breath to focus on finding the strength to free him, but again no air would come. He gasped and choked and his whole body began shaking. She was alive. That was all that mattered. He could take the pain of paralyzed wrists, survive without oxygen, as long as she was alright.
“You’re hyperventilating,” she whispered. “Try to match my breath. Don’t go faster than me. Deeply in … and out …”
Was he? He felt as if his lungs weren’t working at all, but as he listened carefully, he could hear what she was saying. He was breathing so fast that his lungs weren’t functioning, but it was all from the sheer panic going through him. He needed to calm down to get the shadows under control, to regain use of his arms, but he was struggling to get the image of her head falling off her shoulders out of his mind.
“No, no, no,” she stopped him. “Focus on me. Only on me. Feel my light? Feel it in your skin? I’m here. Now breathe with me.”
His body didn’t want to give him control of breathing yet, but he tried to just focus on her warmth and her face and her concern, and somehow, after some time, his breathing slowed down to match hers. It was finally enough for him to move his arms and banish the shadows.
She sighed with relief.
Tears of shame flooded his eyes. He was humiliated she had seen him like this, and furious with himself he had let his shadows get so close to her. She would hate him after seeing his pathetic weakness now that she knew his shadows went through and through to his core.
“We’re okay now. We’re okay,” she whispered in his ear, and to his surprise, she cuddled into his chest.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered. Words were not enough, but he needed to say them.
“It’s okay. I’m here,” she said before directing the light towards him to banish away the last chills of the nightmare.

You don't have to publish this if you don't want, but I'm just still hurting. I've never been so shockingly disappointed by a show's finale before. I'm still in shock by it, and it took some time for it to sink in that that was it. There's no "maybe next week's episode will be better, retcon this, etc." Nope, it's over. It's still too hard to watch old eps and remember how excited/optimistic I was about endgame. This thing that meant so much is now kinda just a footnote in my memory.
I am so, so sorry.
I’m alternately infuriated by the finale, and in complete denial of its existence. There is no other feeling worthy of... whatever the heck that was supposed to be.
I hope you can find some peace, at least enough to engage with the rest of the series and remember what you loved about it, what brought you hope and happiness in the past. 40 minutes of bad everything shouldn’t cancel out 15 years of show that had begun promising free will and vindication for everything TFW had been fighting for since day one.
When the finale effectively demonstrates what the ultimate big bad of the entire series would’ve wanted, I think it’s only fair-- especially after the penultimate episode showed that big bad defeated in every meaningful way-- that we can acknowledge that episode as irrelevant, meaningless, and disposable. The final big bad was lampshaded as The Author directing the entire narrative, and his story should’ve been rendered moot the moment his power was nullified. And yet in our universe there was still one episode of story to deliver. Someone had to articulate the characters’ choices in a world truly liberated from Authorial Intent. What we saw was An Author making choices FOR the characters, not anything that any of the characters would’ve chosen based on *waves hand at the entire previous 15 seasons of character development and growth.* So for me it’s been remarkably easy and liberating to just laugh and completely disregard the finale.
I know it’s not easy for others. I know how much hope we invested into actually SEEING Sam, Dean, Cas, Jack, Eileen... EVERYONE really... actually free enough to make their own life going forward, finally liberated from Chuck’s endless rounds of suffering. Instead they delivered the worst possible outcome in every way, where nobody actually achieved the promise of their stories, or got to truly enjoy the freedom they’d fought their entire lives for. The sheer absurdity of the finale, the fact that it was Just That Awful, in some ways makes it far easier for me to dismiss it as irrelevant to the rest of the series. If it had been even moderately, reasonably acceptable albeit still depressingly sad, I would be having far more difficulty just flat-out rejecting it from canon. But they really worked overtime to make it suck balls, and for that I’m kinda grateful...
I know it might not help in reality, since fic isn’t canon any more than actor statements or meta analysis is canon, but there are a multitude of wonderful alternate ending scenarios already posted here and on AO3. The fact the show chose to show us what would’ve happened had Chuck actually won and got the ending he’d been trying to squeeze out of the Winchesters for years anyway, even after his power was stripped from him, I think that renders the finale just as much a bit of fanfic as anything any of us has produced. And that pleases me.
And while we’re here, a bit of shameless self-promotion (I guess this is the “here’s my soundcloud” equivalent from twitter?): the alternate ending fic I’ve been working on since the finale aired is almost done. Well, technically the “this could actually be canon and completely replace the episode” bit IS finished, but I’m writing an episode coda chapter because I can do what I want. And I’m leaving it as an open-ended ‘verse that I’ll likely write in for years to come, because this is what COULD have happened, if the show hadn’t decided to take the worst possible route.
We all still have free will here in this universe, and we all have the absolute right to declare garbage garbage. If store-bought sucks, you can make your own. :’D
I hope you’re able to find peace, either by acknowledging that ending was craptacular and rejecting it, or by finding a way around it in canon (and canon has left us innumerable ways to explain the entire episode away from nightmares to djinn poison to witch curses to alternate universes to french mistake style scenarios-- the list goes on and on. I mean, for all we know, Dabb actually got his hands on Human!Chuck’s Supernatural Fanfic and just chose to present it in canon in our universe. The fourth wall break at the end of the episode kinda gives us blatant permission to see it that way. So I blame them, since they chose to both present something so absurd AND to tear down the wall between SPN and our universe in one fell swoop. For me, it took any power from the entire episode, and again, I’m kinda grateful to that shoving the curtain aside.

More Last Holiday Musings...
I want to poke at that interdimensional geoscope a little more, because upon reading it over again, I think I splashed it up a little fast and there are a couple of points I’d like to be clearer about. I meant to queue this up to post last night but also want it to be up before Gimme Shelter so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is more blue curtains lit crit with a dash of folklore and an honorable mention for post-structuralism. And we’re talking about Supernatural after all, so this is sort of... well, it’s about endings.
Last Holiday was not a typical “filler” or even a typical MOTW episode. It felt extremely insular, possibly more so than any other episode I can think at any other point in the series. As opposed to the usual crowd of “locals,” a spate of victims, and a couple of red herring suspects, the only other people in this ep besides the Winchesters (including Jack) and Mrs. Butters were the two vampires and Cuthbert Sinclair. There was no “case” as in a usual MOTW-- there was no Chuck Struggle, either, and the lack of mytharc was strange against the lack of “filler” schema. That lack of “MOTW investigation” marked this episode also as being about “curiosity”-- the Winchesters all-too-quickly took Mrs. Butters for granted-- Dean even dismissed her as a “Magic Roomba” and that seemed to settle the matter. Furthermore, the moment that Dean spotted Mrs. B in his room, the stage was set for Antics ™ when she held up his goofy Scooby boxers, and indeed a zaniness, an almost manic energy drove the action forward at a breakneck pace. [Spoiler alert, we do get “investigation” in the next episode, 15x15 Gimme Shelter, as stills and the preview show that Castiel and Jack will be teaming up together, in yet another shake-up of the usual “MOTW” template, almost like we can expect the other side of a coin when Sam and Dean switch places with Cas...] These features set Last Holiday apart as not so much “filler” as “between,” as in there was struggle before, and there will be struggle after, but for a while there was cake. (Contrast this to the usual “peril of the threshold” that usually shrouds liminality if you’d like.)
At the end of Last Holiday, however, we finally get to find out what that old blue telescope really is, and with that name we get confirmation that there are no more alternate universes-- Chuck has burned them all. Viewers are left to come to the conclusion that in retrospect the telescope-thing could have changed the course of season 13 completely. The reveal is played off as darkly funny, but it’s also kind of a gut-wrenching moment, too. All the heartbreak of the last two and a half years, reviewed now through the lens of “if only.” If only they’d known about Mrs. Butters from the time they found the bunker, “none of this would have happened”… they’d have had monster radar, they’d have had the geoscope, they would have had supernatural help of a completely different level.
The temptation to read Last Holiday as a Chuck-free episode is strong, but fraught-- the threat of Chuck’s involvement has been established by a pattern this season (well the pattern is woven throughout the whole series really but Dabb has deliberately structured these last three seasons with an exponentially increasing frequency.) I feel like we’ve been conditioned this season in particular to hold ourselves in a perpetual flinch, to be afraid of what we’ll learn “in retrospect.” That geoscope was really_good_subtext, and it is entirely possible, even encouraged, at this point in the plot to take information we’ve learned from the naming of the object, examine our own conditioned response to this episode, and apply both things to the structure of the season so far and make a prediction as to what might happen in the main plot. That’s what I mean about subtext getting loud. We’ve been given the green-light to make a prediction about The Struggle and march forward with it, and see if we will be correct by extrapolating the pattern, or if that expectation will be subverted (the twist is set up to run either way, so either outcome is satisfying.) It is Melville-esque architecture of the highest degree;I could write another thousand words just about that. So I have a prediction that I’m hanging on to, because of what we’ve learned from the geoscope, and what kinds of clues were hung up in Last Holiday, and I’m super excited to either have my hunch confirmed or be frightfully and delightedly surprised. I mean, where the fuck did Jeremy Adams even come from? He’s like our own Mrs. Butters, showing up in the last quarter to run a couple game-changing balls into the end zone, it’s bonkers. I mean, I know writing mysteries is hard and requires still AND cunning, but damn, son.
But anyway, back to the geoscope…
I’m perplexed, from a very “lit crit” perspective, but this is where I’m at and why I referenced blue curtains-- if you shine too bright a light on subtext, does it evaporate-- like looking through an interdimensional geoscope and not seeing anything-- or is “subtext” sometimes not some ephemeral fever-dream that we as viewers conjure up through our experiential interlocution with the text but something a writer has steeped into the narrative as part of their craft? Or when you’re talking about an evolving iteration of writers, is it possible that one picks up a thread that another wove in for something else, repurposing or amplifying it? And, when perhaps is something deliberately instilled in the text in order to become “text” at just the right time? In Moby Dick, [spoiler alert lol] Quequeg’s coffin-- formerly one of many symbolic vehicles used to foreshadow the doom of the Pequod-- is repurposed as a life buoy and becomes the actual object that saves Ishmael’s life, transforming it from a portent of disaster to a symbol of salvation and then to one of Ishmael’s guilt for surviving Ahab’s madness-- the guilt that had been made text by the very opening line of the book, “Call me Ishmael.” In retrospect, the connotations of wandering, exile and salvation behind the name that the narrator gives himself become crystal clear. The problem that the post-structuralist model of “reading” as simultaneously “creating the text” has manufactured is that the idea that “subtext” can often be discounted as something dreamed up wholecloth by the reader, and thus inferior, imaginary, even delusional (and I use that last word knowing what a loaded term that is in the spn fandom, but this is not about a ship, even) where once it was considered to be a valid and measurable part of the text itself, like that dang coffin. It was the basement, the underpinnings, the catacombs below the opera house sure, but it helped to hold up the structure. And for some reason, putting subtext into a piece of media has become passe, or cringe? Anyway, not to be bitter on main but it didn’t used to be this way, at least not in the heady early days of postmodernism. So that green light? Critical hit against blue curtains. And while yes, some readings are going to be better supported than others, and the wild variety of checklists in this fandom mean that some conclusions have been drawn which can’t pan out, if you’re paying attention to the structure, the subtexts, the alchemical/psychoanalytical/postmodern themata, the ending will be very satisfying.
So. What was once speculated to be a symbol for emotional lows or turning points (among other things) in the bunker was textually hit with a bright green light, then Dean got curious about it in text, and we were told-- in text-- that oh it’s just a fancy spyglass, and now that the other worlds are gone, it has no purpose…. that’s what I mean about the geoscope now being “pure”-- it wasn’t clear whether the telescope ever had any function, subtetxtual or not, and now that it’s certain what it’s “function” was, it’s now freed up as a “symbol”-- unless like in Moby Dick it’s new “purpose” is revealed later, but right now it’s caught in this liminal place of not-quite-clue and not-quite-metaphor...
However, and I didn’t put this in my first post because I was trying to be fast and not a wet blanket, but I felt like finally naming the geoscope was an ending.
This is literally Singer, Dabb, and Co tidying up the house before locking it behind them.
I think when Dean said he didn’t see anything through the “telescope thing,” that we’re to understand that maybe this was the last hurrah of the cute, zany, campy “subtext” or even “metatext” if you’d rather that so many of us have been parsing and which has gotten so weird and bright since season 12/13. I think I said in one of the folklore posts that writing about some of the things I write about feels like making daisy chains in the endzone during the big game. Which is fun, that’s how I personally got through having to be in AYSO soccer for four years, by looking for four leafed clovers and eating orange quarters. And we got a wood nymph in this episode, textually even, so I could easily check the “folklore” box on this one. But the sheer euphoria of Last Holiday and all the sparkles it brought into the story aren’t meant to last. When you look back on fifteen years of text, a lot of it is bleak, miserable stuff. That’s not to say that episodes like Yellow Fever and Hunteri Heroici and Fan Fiction et al shouldn’t be celebrated. But I think from here on out, things are going to be less “golly gee, three birthdays!” and more “There she blows! --there she blows! A hump like a snowhill!”
This episode was a gift in many ways, not just for the sense of glee it transmitted-- it also did so much work and there are things I want to yell about in the way language was hit, the red versus green lighting, the way the backwards holidays worked, the projector as a metaphor for Mrs. B projecting her regrets and fears onto Jack, the amount of food that was created and consumed, how that smoothie was also an echo of “fairy food” or an underworld pact if you squint-- but the stakes are so high now. We haven’t been shown the next valley-- there was no final scene of Chuck rubbing his hands together like the villain from a melodrama, for example-- but the last image we got was Jack blowing out a candle. After the candle is blown out, the cake is dismantled and consumed. Once the story is over, all the themes that are so hard to grapple in a text like a television show can be gathered up and analyzed. (IS that all, though? After all, Dean made his own cake later, which, like, echoes of the “oh two cakes” comic lol...)
Since I really never want to leave anything I toss out on this blog on a last note of doom and gloom, however, I do want to say that I too understand what that last image meant. It meant, as Sam said, make a wish. Think of the future, think of free will, and hope for something wonderful to happen. (or do like me and wonder what the hell Jack wished for with dread and anticipation ha ha ha.)

Ask game thing! Top 5 DW episode and Top 5 aesthetic? (like reading a book on rainy day, the smell of grass in the cold morning. etc. if that makes sense)
OH HEY HELLO AGAIN!!!
It’s a pleasure to have you here. Exquisite questions, my dear ;)
Doctor Who eps. Ohhhh ohohohohohho boy, okay here it goes (please note that these are my personal top 5, there’s many others I appreciate and consider objectively ‘good’ even if they aren’t on this list):
1.     Turn Left
Tumblr media
I could go on for days about everything that I love about this episode, but I’m just gonna say “the most important woman in the whole of creation”. Plus an adorable Doctordonna hug :’)
2.     Midnight
Tumblr media
The sheer existential horror of this episode, the human drama… impeccable *chef kiss*
3.     The Runaway Bride
Tumblr media
God, I’ve rewatched it TWICE this week. For some reason, this special sparks so much unadulterated joy, it’s difficult to put into words. Donna smacking the Doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the Doctor showing both his dark and softest side... I’m in love
4.     The Christmas Invasion
Tumblr media
Baby, newly regenerated baby.
5.     The Impossible Planet / Satan Pit
Tumblr media
This two parter is simply flawless and I won’t take any criticism: the ood, the gritty space base, the devil... The Tenrose dynamic is heartfelt and funny and dramatic and also ORANGE SPACESUIT
Honourable mention to Partners in Crime and Tooth and Claw cos they warm my heart and they’re such good fun. God, I’ve also just realized almost every single one of these is written by RTD… well, ain’t that a surprise?
Aesthetics? Um, I’m not entirely sure, I think I might be misinterpreting your idea of ‘aesthetic’, but please forgive me because I love period pieces and styles:
1.     Victorian / gothic. I’m a haunted Victorian child at heart, what can I say? Gimme the velvet waistcoats, the long cloaks, the homoerotic tension…
2.     Roaring 20s. The whole underground cabaret/burlesque aesthetic, as well as the flapper dresses and the crossdressing… hmmmm sexy
3.     Okay, now I think I’m gonna mention some aesthetics closer to what you suggested, more vibes and feelings. Stargazing! Being in the beach at night, or in a field as you lay down on a towel and gaze at the spectacle above… bonus points if you’re with a friend/partner and start exchanging your deepest thoughts and fears in whispers cos you don’t dare disrupt the magical atmosphere
4.     Being all comfy womfy under warm heavy blankets in the morning, drowsy and numb after a good night’s sleep, with faint glimmers of sunshine peeping through the curtains
5.     I’m not sure if this counts, I hope it makes sense: cinemas or movie theatres when the film has just finished and you’re left with this ethereal lingering feeling, like you’re high on something indescribable and you still haven’t snapped back to reality...
