Thank you for leaving these tags @pharawee! Without getting into any speculation about how Dead Friend Forever will actually end, I do want to address your question and talk about why most of us want to see severe consequences for these boys. The short answer: it's about genre expectations and the psychological catharsis of a good revenge narrative.
To get down to the really basic point: people who love revenge thrillers love them because they are a fantasy construct in which good people survive and bad people get what they deserve. In a world where bad things happen and we rarely have any control, a good revenge story can be exhilarating, giving you the feeling that justice prevailed, villains received appropriate comeuppance for their wrongs, and the protagonist seized control back and experienced much needed catharsis for their suffering. Real life is very much not like this, which is why it's such an appealing genre of fiction.
So how do we calibrate what "appropriate comeuppance" means? This is where genre expectations become really important, because the genre the revenge narrative plays out in sets the terms for where that bar sits. In The Glory, a recent world class revenge drama, we were in the psychological thriller genre, so revenge came in the form of Dong Eun playing mind games with her bullies until they destroyed their own lives. No murder necessary. Dead Friend Forever, however, is in the horror genre, and specifically began its story by planting itself in the slasher subgenre, giving us a masked killer and setting up expectations that these boys are being hunted. When you watch a slasher, you come in with the mindset that most of the characters are going to die and begin rooting for it and looking for reasons why they "deserve" it. And typically, in a slasher, it takes very little for a character to "deserve" a death--you often see people die for the tiniest infractions, like making a rude comment, telling a bad joke, or having sex. But DFF went much farther than that and gave us a multi episode flashback in which we got a detailed accounting of every wrong this group of boys committed against Non, increasing the audience's bloodlust and conviction that these boys needed to pay.
So why do so many of us want the bullies to die? Because the genre demands it, and the story set the audience up to expect it from the outset. I have seen some discussion of the way the show is blending different horror subgenres and not sticking strictly to typical slasher conventions, and that's true, and expected. Slashers are usually two hours max, and this show needed to fill 10+ hours of content, so it's doing a really interesting blend of slasher, mystery, psychological thriller, and other horror subgenres. But the bones of the story still hold, and despite the storytelling choice to give the villains some nuance and fleshed out motivations for their behavior, they are still villains who destroyed Non's life. If you're feeling overly sympathetic to any of these boys at present, I encourage you to go back and remind yourself how they behaved in the early episodes of this story, which took place after the events of the flashbacks. These are not genuinely remorseful kids who made minor mistakes and then got their acts together and became upstanding citizens; they just want to move on and avoid blame and accountability for what they did, while Non's entire family was irrevocably destroyed by their actions.
If this story ends without Por, Tee, Top, Fluke, Jin, and Phee suffering genre appropriate consequences for their choices that harmed and betrayed Non, it will be a letdown and many will feel unsatisfied. In real life, we may believe that forgiveness is the right path, and we know that Buddhism teaches unconditional forgiveness. But this is not real life. This is a fantasy genre that is specifically meant to provide an escape from the constraints of real life morality and obligations. No one wants to show up to a fantasy party only to receive a moral scolding. The most disappointing thing a revenge narrative can do is wimp out on delivering the actual revenge.

An interesting thing about the Monarch is that while obviously the entire gag is that he’s enmeshed in this postmodern weirdly formalized etiquette-and-code-of-conduct-based form of super-villainy, this notably does not translate to him being a Megamind-style functionally-benign-showman kind of villain-in-name-only. He kills innocent people constantly. There’s a running gag where he kills cabbies to get out of paying fare. This doesn't really seem to be a salient factor in the other character's assessment of him as a threat or moral agent-his ability, or lack thereof, to tow the Guild line and keep pace with the inside baseball is what actually makes waves, draws scrutiny. There's the comedy of that Season 1 episode where they basically call a time-out mid-death trap in compliance with Guild Law, but this doesn't translate to anyone outside the game receiving similar protections or considerations. He lets Dr. Venture leave midway through an arch to see his shrink and then murders the shrink so that those interruptions will stop happening.
And to me this feels like it’s gesturing at a very real thing that can happen in cape comics, where even the nominally harmless bit-villains aren't actually harmless even if they fail to kill the hero specifically, where even the really overtly silly ones have in fact likely whacked at least a few unnamed characters over the course of their 60-year publication history- only for this to sort of get sanded away as a morally salient feature of the character unless they become specifically known as One Of The Ones Who Constantly Kills People (Joker, Bullseye, Carnage, etc.) because security guards and people trapped in collapsing buildings aren't really real. The show is also attentive to the analogous thing that happens with superheroes with the weird moral myopias they suffer from, in the way that basically every hero has some insane instance of superdickery rattling around in their closet that's still technically canon but hardly relevant. The show is very very clear that as long as you correctly couch your behavior within the idiom, color within the lines, you're entitled to a certain level of carnage and collateral. Which is demonstrated in the second episode with the Revenge Society, where Phantom Limb and company are genuinely freaked out when a nameless slasher shows up to the try-outs. Phantom Limb constantly brutally kills people, but this guy in a bear costume with a kitchen knife? He's killing them in an off-genre way.

HI SNOOKIE ITS WALL ANON ummm can i get a slasher (any) dating someone with bpd possibly? if you do write this thank you so much!! im having a rough time rn and i just want a comfort fic <333 /p
AAAAH I'm so sorry this took me so long pookie!! Also since in your last ask you wanted Bubba and Billy and I only did Billy I'll do Bubs here, plus I just love Bubba!!! Now please keep in mind I do not have BPD and am writing this after doing research, if anything I write is wrong, inaccurate, or anything of that nature please tell me so I may correct it. I write for fun not to spread misinformation or villainous groups of people
- Bubba won't always get what's going on just gonna warn ya now, he doesn't even know what's going on most days besides his schedules but ya know he vibes and wants to help you vibe
-if you have days you wanna be by him he'll be happy to shower you in affection and loves when you two can find ways to do chores together to spend more time together
-on days you hate your bodies apperance he'll do your makeup like his pretty woman mask to help you feel pretty because he thinks your just so pretty after all and wants you to think so to
-When you get angry if you lash out at him he'll be a lil scared and need reassurance after the fact that you don't hate him or anything and want to help you find other ways to let your anger out
-this is when the family could help!!!! Not Drayton tho...he doesn't help. But the twins do!!! Be it one home and one at Vietnam or both you'll definitely find some symptom over laps here I think
-Especially Nubbins when without Chop Top he loves to partake in risky behaviors so you two will definitely influence each other same if it's Chop Top or both
- Expect a ear full from Drayton if he finds out but either way Bubba will patch you both up and such while babbling about how yall shouldn't do that and it worries him and if you are okay with it give you hugs and kisses because he worries
- On days you wanna be alone I'm sure Grandpa will be a great way to get quiet time. They love Grandpa but besides meal time they kinda forget about him- just tell Bubba ahead of time since other wise he'll start running around like a chicken with its head caught off to find you
-When angry Bubba will let you have some fun letting you get it out via killing or chopping up the house guests and try to give you pointers and encouragement
- When you have thoughts of self unalivment or hurting he'll try to distract you with the chores, or grafts! Make a face mask with him and always look pretty or maybe matching couples jewelry! (Him probably)
-Over all he won't always get it and will have a learning curve but he loves you, his family approves, and as such expect round the clock help for any feelings you have and plenty of attempts to help you feel your best

im sorry that freddy krueger conversation between jamie and ted is a nightmare 😭 yes your abusive father is just like the evil horror killer freddy krueger…but you know he was just a hurt person 🥺 no wonder he reached out to his father again after that (bad) ted is so obviously projecting his relationship with his father AND son onto jamie and he needs to stop giving him advice immediately 😭
I swear to God. I know that their (the writers') intention was that Ted meant well and was trying to give Jamie helpful advice, but it wound up just being an extremely bizarre piece of dialogue that did not land at all for me. No part of that made sense in my opinion. Like
1) Why would you start talking about Freddy Krueger sneaking up on people with his knife hands in this situation. So not helpful
2) Why in the world would you compare someone to a slasher villain who kills teenagers if your intention was to create sympathy and forgiveness for them
3) The "hurt people hurt people" thing didn't make any sense coming from Ted because Ted doesn't know anything about James. Obviously it's likely that James was also abused as a child but Ted doesn't know that and it's honestly weird that he would try to explain James' behavior by citing a past that he knows nothing about
And yeah exactly like. The issue with Ted and Jamie is that Ted sees Jamie as both an extension of himself and an extension of Henry, not as his own person

hello, sorry if this is too real of an ask if you're not feeling too well recently, but I've been meaning to ask if you have any advice when it comes to tackling really dark topics in fanfics?? I've been meaning to write a darkfic with the Kid pirates main 4 as slasher movie villains (think Jason Voorhees vibes) with a touch of yandere tendencies, so there's not gonna be a lot of comfort/fluff in this fic. this is naturally gonna be hard to write especially when it comes to wanting to write dark and disturbing scenes without wanting to glorify or romanticise abusive behavior or stockholm syndrome, not to mention not wanting to upset or trigger survivors, especially as one myself, so any advice would be lovely. thank you ^-^
I’m going to start this off with what I think should be your most important takeaway from this:
It’s okay to romanticize abuse in fiction.
It’s okay to romanticize horror, murder, etc. etc. in fiction.
Fiction is where we can do the really uncomfortable stuff. Where we can explore the darks part of existing, because it’s good to be able to go “I connect with this and I should consider why.” Or “this brings me comfort, how can I break that down?” Stuff like that.
Sometimes it helps us realize a view or understanding we had that we thought was good is inherently flawed. (I am reminded of viewers being very angry when they realized the character in The Boys they connected with was *not* a good guy and did not get redeemed.)
What we have to be careful about is not condoning such themes in reality.
Horror movies and books go into deep dark territory all the time, but often hobby writers can be held to odd standards by comparison, which gets a bit frustrating at times.
How to avoid that AND present dark fic properly?
On Ao3 and tumblr just tag your story - character death, gore, stalking, Stockholm syndrome, abuse, toxic relationship, dubcon, noncon as applicable, excessive descriptions of blood and gore, etc.
You don’t have to get specific - you don’t have to say who dies/survives. You can admit to “this has a bad end” if you want - I had a webcomic warn me about that and it was NOT kidding.
Some responsibility is on the writer for dark fic, yes, but honestly that’s just in terms of being sure you label it well. Avoiding and heeding those tags is solely on the reader - as long as you didn’t, say, write about disarticulation in exacting detail without warning “excessive descriptions of blood and gore”.
You can put additional warnings in the summary, or even as a heads up before a particularly intense chapter.
And, you’re not going to be perfect. If someone says “hey can you add [x] tag?” Be open to it - but don’t add any and every tag requested - sometimes people can be demanding in tag requests and you have the right to decide where the line really is.
For example someone might ask that you add a tag involving eye-trauma. It’s a squick of mine, people getting injured on, in, around their eyes, and I wouldn’t be upset with a heads up - but I also think it’s covered under warnings of gore.
Someone might ask that you tag a specific character’s death - personally? I wouldn’t. “Character death” is enough. “Slasher/horror” honestly should really be enough cause even though I don’t watch horror movies I have a keen understanding that you do not get attached to characters in a horror story.
As long as you hit the broad strokes, I think that’s enough. The idea is that no one wants to walk into a slasher when they were expecting fluff.
As for taking care of ourselves as writers while we write dark content, that’s harder to give advice on. I really have to be in a steady frame of mind to write dark stuff, but if I know there’s vindication in there somewhere it’s much easier. (There’s a stalker in A Light Touch that gets his due and as someone who has had more than 6, it was cathartic to write.)
But sometimes there’s catharsis in the bad guy winning too. You’ve got to understand those lines for yourself - I can’t really give you advice cause it’s so different for everyone. But listen to yourself.
If it feels like a slog, leave it.
If it’s not getting out of your mind, write it.
You’re not “weird” if you write your darkest shit when you’re happiest, or vice versa. What you need to do is just keep an eye on yourself - there is no world in which you should suffer in order to write “good dark content”.
For better or worse, that’s the best advice I have - I hope it’s helped ^_^

kinda wish nerdy prudes must die touched a little more on max’s life, like obviously everyone elses life improved after he died and he was a horrible person, but they planted just enough seeds pointing to how his home life was terrible that makes you pity him a little
like they outright say that his dad is abusive, they contacted the football coach about his death (no mention of breaking the news to dad), luring him to the haunted house and trying to scare him is the nicest thing someone has done for him? obv none of this excuses his behavior and i get that slasher villains often have tragic backstories but no redeeming qualities (bc theyre one track kill their enemy tunnel vision) but idk just some brain thoughts

If you are still willing to do the alphabet thing, Spock for A, C, D, F, G, H, I, L, Q, V, and W please? I'm sorry, I know that's a lot...
You bet I am! This gave me something to do when I had no service & had to wait for sunscreen to soak in after reapplying, so don’t apologize! Honestly you could send the entire alphabet for a character & I’d still answer every one nxbakshd
A: Aftercare | What is their aftercare like after a heavy round of tickling?:)
Spock is big on verbal affirmations in this situation. Tells them that they’re okay & that he’s done & how “fond” he is of their laughter all while sporting a green blush
C: Chase | What are their chances in a chase, both as a lee and ler?
Has mastered the slasher villain slow walk. He won’t run- he doesn’t need to. Even when his lee runs at full speed & is positive they’ve escaped, he’s right there in front of them somehow. But as the lee he’s so easy to corner cause he won’t stoop down to their level to give chase
D: Death Spot | What is their most ticklish spot?
EARS EARS EARS EARS! One of the only ways to make Spock shriek & completely lose composure. I’m sorry but it’s the LAW that anyone with pointy ears is devastatingly ticklish there. I don’t make the rules, I just enforce them
F: Fight | What is their behavior in a tickle fight like?
Still pretty cool & collected. He prefers to stay out of them, but tends to get dragged in fairly quickly cause everyone wants to see him cut loose & laugh for once
G: Gentle | How do they react to gentle tickles?
Grins like a fool & has these really adorable soft snickers & giggles. Squirms a lot but thinks it feels nice
H: Habits | As a lee/ler or both, do they have specific habits when it comes to tickling?
He loves nothing more than pointing out all the ways the lee was asking for it. He never fails to rat someone out if he can tell that’s what they want. & when they obviously get flustered about it & tell him to shut up he’s like “what? That’s what you want, so it’s only logical to let others know. Otherwise you’ll just be suffering in silence.“ it never fails to fluster & piss them off lol
I: Interrogation | How well would they handle a tickle interrogation?
He could hold out for a bit, he’s stubborn as a mule. But he’d cave eventually
L: Laughter | What does their laughter sound like when they are tickled?
He has a very smooth, calm sounding laugh, it’s such a nice sound. A bit on the higher pitched side but still has a nice tenor to it
Q: Question | Their response to the question ‘are you ticklish’?
“It would be most illogical to lie, seeing as you’d just prove me wrong. So yes. Was that the answer you were looking for?” (Sassy Spock supremacy)
V: Victim | As a ler, who is their favorite lee and what makes this person their ultimate victim?
Kirk, hands down. He knows he loves it & he likes making him happy. He’d never admit it but he thinks it’s fun too. He also likes to wreck Bones from time to time because the doctor is so grouchy & he likes to push his buttons.
W: Word | What is their reaction to the T-word? Can they say it out loud or do they get embarrassed?
He can say it, though he doesn’t necessarily like to lol. But if you squint you can see a hint of a blush on his cheeks. He gets just a tiny bit embarrassed. He’ll deny it as much as he can tho lol

Michael Myers is the funniest slasher villain because he's just some guy. Like, Freddy Krueger is a demon. Jason Voorhees is sorta human but he's actually physically died and been brought back to life, so he's still pretty supernatural. Plus he has the whole backstory with a motive and stuff.
Meanwhile Michael is just a dude. He's just a really really bad guy who really really likes murdering people and is difficult to kill for no explicable reason. He has no real motivation, he's not a monster, he's not a zombie, he's just some freak with a mask and a knife who has been shot so so many times and still keeps slashing. Queen of perseverance and self determination, honestly. Icon behavior.

having let it percolate a little, and having read some critiques/reviews of it, i have further expanded my complicated thoughts about dirty harry.
first of all, i definitely pick up a vibe of "harry callahan and scorpio have the same thing wrong with them, scorpio is just worse/has no morals whatsoever." mostly it's the reckless violence and the sadistic streak, but there's something else there too. they've both got the long hair, though scorpio's is longer. scorpio's outright bigotry and callahan's "i should throw a net over the whole lot of them" comment. i could even stretch this as far as some other parallels, like scorpio being a sniper and harry's voyeurism on multiple occasions, the fact there's multiple scenes of each of them getting beaten up/injured (at least once apiece at each other's hands, no less), the soft spoken demeanor (which granted scorpio doesn't show all the time, but the phone calls are the best example), the wild physicality of the chase scenes on both their parts–and, hell, cat and mouse plots always invite comparison, don't they. i definitely see at least a little similarity between the two.
second of all–and i think this is why i had the reaction of "this is so extreme that i really can't believe i'm supposed to think this guy is in the right"–harry callahan being a dirtbag is a pretty explicit part of the text. at the very least there's the voyeurism, which he pays for on both occasions; the accidental one where he's trying to find a suspect gets him mistaken for a regular peeping tom and (rightfully) beat up, and the intentional one where he then fucks up the entire stakeout. chico calls him on it, too, and he gets reprimanded in some form or another for most of his bullshit (hell, even his nickname is an acknowledgement). so there's at least a little acknowledgement.
then there's the whole deal with the arrest. first of all, the scene itself reads more slasher villain than hero–callahan looks fucking deranged, the music is creepy as hell, the camerawork makes him look super threatening. then we find out he didn't even save the girl, and because he broke damn near ever law in the book, scorpio walks. the kidnapped girl being dead definitely makes the violence feel hollow, but it's hard to say if the movie is blaming scorpio's release on harry's behavior breaking the law, or on the criminal justice laws themselves. i honestly think you could read it either way. the fact that the first stakeout going wrong is pretty clearly his fault makes me lean towards the film also portraying this as a callahan fuckup. then again–he seems really bewildered that what he did was illegal, and the "what about ann mary deacon, what about her rights? who speaks for her?" line carries such pathos i find it hard to believe we're not meant to be at least a little in his favor here. he also says "the law's crazy," which is an incredibly loaded statement, but once again i really can't tell if we're supposed to agree with him or not. i will note, however, that the film definitely isn't on the side of the mayor (who's insistent on paying scorpio off). there's definitely a "both approaches to this suck" reading in there, if maybe a shaky one.
for what it's worth, i have read that the director (and writers as well i think) were going for an angle of "blurring the line between cop and criminal," so i think both the parallels between callahan and scorpio + callahan being acknowledged at least a little as a shitty person are definitely intentional. i think the most generous interpretation you can give this is "they weren't outright trying to send a message that police should be above the law." the thing is that scorpio is such an abhorrent person, and that the narrative in the end is constructed in a way that it justifies harry's violent antics as necessary to take scorpio down, that i think in the end it sends that message anyway. and given how influential the film was on the detective fiction that came after it, much of which has carried that message wholeheartedly, i don't think it's really forgivable. or maybe forgivable isn't the right word, i don't know quite how to put it. it's still for the most part a very enjoyable movie if you go into it with the acknowledgement that it's deeply flawed, and with the intention of having a lot of fun watching two really fucked up guys chase each other around in glorious technicolor, but i don't think i'll ever be able to not cringe at the politics of it, however intentional they were or weren't.

We try not to write smut, but when we do, the post will be flagged for explicit content. We might incorporate a kink in a writing in a non explicit manner such as dollplay simply be dressing reader/character up, this will be tagged as a full kink. We occasionally will write whump, this can include topics such as non consentual bondage, non consentual kissing, occasional mentions of nudity both consentual and not, yet we will not write actual noncon sex (we do not feel confident or comfortable writing true noncon and most likely won't on this blog) and topics such as physical and mental torture. This blog will talk about unhealthy relationships through whump, if you are struggling with these in real life, know you are not alone and that there is help, such as obsessive behavior and some forms of manipulation, we do not write the majority of 'x readers' as abusive unless whump, of which we prefer to write softer whumps due to our inexperience with the genre. Most of our readers are gender neutral. We will always write for all types of fashions and presentations.
(We refer to myself as plural in the way a company does, we do not have a form of dissociative disorder that effects our number as of currently. although it is speculated there is a possibility that I do suffer from one form of dissociation. On that note, we currently do not plan on getting a diagnosis for several more years because DSM-5 pain owchie. I can talk as an 'I' or 'me', it's just that I enjoy feeling like some boss of a company.)

Also 💅🪓💀🔪 for the horror movie asks <3
💅who is the greatest horror movie badass bitch?
Either Ripley or RJ MacReady. Both of them have the "late 70s/early 80s horror protag thats taking no bullshit from the fucky alien" thing and they're both serve cunt for it. It's so sexy
🪓= ultimate final girl/boy/person?
OH THATS HARD ACTUALLY excluding the two above, either Sidney Prescott or Ash Williams. Sidney didnt have any tolerance the slasher movie bs and she absolutely KILLED it (ha) in the last scene. Ash on the other hand....come on. hes THE classic final girl. and of course they both fufill the most important rule of final girls: looking great covered in blood
💀= what horror movie scared you to death?
I don't get scared a lot by movies actually! Horror ARGs/Webseries and games yeah but not too many movies. But one that did actually scare me while in the theater was A Quiet Place. It's hard to explain but there has never been another movie theater experience ive had like the shared fear me and the other movie goers had while sitting in a dead silent theater of making noise. No one made a god damn move because it was dead fucking quiet and even eating the popcorn was too loud. it was terrifying
🔪= who is your favourite horror villain/antagonist?
Non-monster? Stu and Billy from Scream. Sorry im basic but they ate up that whole last scene together. Billy is kinda boring on his own but Stu made it so much more fun. I can't tell if the "peer pressure" reasoning was an actual answer or not what that implies for their relationship. either way i love evil homosexuals fr
but monster wise? Jean Jacket from Nope. Like its not even evil or a villain or malicious its just. an animal. It's a predator animal that was fed and got comfortable with a steady food source. It enters an agreement to coexist with OJ for like 6 months and he never even knew. It's scared by the flags because it associates it with pain. It's got a secondary form that looks like a biblical angel but it also looks like a jellyfish or a bird trying to intimidate another predator, because it was scared of OJ after knowing he had been able hurt it repeatedly and it doesn't know if it can win that fight. It's so well designed and every aspect of it both explains a lot of alien myths while also giving it a reasonable explanation with it's animalistic behavior. its great i love her

What do the Len'ens dress as for Halloween (if they even dress up)?
(After doing a bit of research on Halloween, I decided that Mugenri probably isn't going to have a Halloween equivalent. Or at least, one where people dress up. As a result, I'll only be doing the Outside World Len'ens here. But you are free to theorize for those others!)
Yabusame, I feel, would really like dressing up for Halloween! Their costumes are never consistent though. One year they're cosplaying as a character from their favorite anime, the next they dress up as some kind of monster. If there's any consistency to it though, it is that their costumes tend to have weird, dimensional effects added to them that unnerve people they don't know. Because they think it's fun.
Tsubakura doesn't normally dress up for Halloween. Not because they dislike the season or anything, but because they're too lazy to put in the effort of organizing their own costume. But when they do dress up, they usually play up the mad scientist look in both costume and behavior. It's just easier that way.
Kurohebi and Haru don't dress up. Kurohebi doesn't even really know what Halloween even is, whereas Haru mostly just thinks of herself as too old for such a thing.
Aoji and Hooaka both like to dress up for Halloween! Aoji typically goes as various D&D archetype characters, or as some kind of deep sea explorer, whereas Hooaka favors either typical monster costumes or embracing the classic magician costume. They also dressed up as a clown one year, scaring many children.
Kuroji and Hoojiro both have a...complex, relationship with Halloween. They used to dress up when they were younger, but in recent years found themselves preferring not to. Hoojiro from being overworked, and Kuroji from disillusionment. But when they did dress up, Kuroji typically went as something simple but also stylish (honorable mention to that time they went as a witch/warlock one year, an omen of things to come), and Hoojiro went dressed in mostly accurate period costumes (she didn't quite get it, but people liked her costumes) .
Clause is that one person who takes Halloween as an excuse to flaunt themself. I'm talking highly detailed stuff that wouldn't look out of place at a ball here. They're very pretentious like that, and naturally annoy everyone else with all their flaunting.
Suzumi... Suzumi dresses up. What they dress up as depends entirely on which personality is in control when they do. If it's Hamee, they go in very cutesy magical girl outfits to express their maidenly heart, as they'd probably call it. If it's Ardey, they go dressed up like the villain in a slasher movie. Yes, Halloween is a nightmare for them. (Even if Benny were super active, I don't think they'd really be eager to dress up. So they let the other two fight about it.)

Those rings around Adri’s neck are actually his broken halo :)
Tumblr media
(that’s right baby return of the halo from his first design but now its significantly edgier and sharper. Also these drawings are fairly old now but still hold up)
Tumblr media
Adri’s nanites are actually 10x bigger than the standard nanite size which makes them be able to fucking curbstomp any other nanites that try to pull bullshit, but it also makes him significantly heftier (hence the 15 tons of steel post from the other day)
Tumblr media
 -  Adri has a good few failsafes to getting caught/interacting with hostile people and one of them is to hold a conversation with them long enough for nanites of his to get into the other people’s lungs and then if the situation doesnt defuse he will tear them asunder from inside. He probably does this even in regular conversations too as a precation bc he is an ambient hazard and also a bastard
- Talas is actually able to fully communicate just through bioluminescence! Him and his fellow glowy bitches have a whole language going on for communicating under the water and without sound (which is more easily deciphered)
Tumblr media
For dragons!
- Cercerion’s beam attack makeover was inspired by this specific video (because it looks like that now)
- Alex, from my comic, is honest to god able to eat metal and does so fairly regularly. It probably wont come up in the comic itself unfortunately but like, he can just DO that
- Octane’s heart is basically a biological stellerator, so he’s fueled by plasma/thermonuclear fusion
Tumblr media
Midas is also a huge flirt when he Kills, and even tends to call people pet names like Sweetheart, Honey, and the like when he’s hunting them down
As an extra fun fact, whenever he’s out chasing someone and needs to store the knife somewhere to use his hands, he just stabs himself in the chest with it. Designated knife storage until its needed
Tumblr media
For Midas again, I actually yoinked him from a dream and I’ve mentioned this, but what I haven’t mentioned is that the dream involved him being the slasher villain in a videogame. And the game itself was SUPER unfair, so pretty much every letsplayer would ragequit because theyd get cornered unfairly by bad colliders, and midas would just walk up to them, let them barely get away, and then fucking BOLT to them like he hadnt done for the whole game and bonk them in the head with the machete. So when I woke up and remembered i 100% based his personality on that bit of bastard behavior :]
Tumblr media
Nereus is actually INCREDIBLY smart! They’re able to calculate ,store, and parse complex routes, maps, etc with a ton of info about the environment (like water temperature, composition, pollution, even seasons and the like)
So pretty much all their research is very heavily documented and they are fully aware of all of the science surrounding it. They just appear silly because they were never meant to communicate outwardly, so they do what they can with what theyve learned and pulling from their own code :]
Tumblr media
No worries, it’s Nereus! And as for the fact: It’s depth rating is absolutely ludicrous, around twice the depth of challenger deep ( -10,971m under sea level, here on earth) so it can pretty much go to the bottom of any conceivable ocean without breaking a sweat!
Tumblr media
I said they were solar powered, but I didnt say where the panels were: theyre Nereus’ whole underbelly. When they need to recharge they just float on the surface belly up like a cat in a sunbeam
It’s like this because their big head frill and their tail act as a keel and keeps them upright in that position over the waves, and it also makes it easier to get power back from hydrothermal vents by curling up over the hot ground. And also it looks cute as fuck

Out of curiosity, does Arlo ever get better? Like More Human is a weird way to describe a non-human being, but like does he get a cartoon villain redemption arc for his personality or is he always an incorrigible asshole
It's complicated. Arlo isn't just not a human, he's not really a person either. He's a piece of decaying spell work made to look like a person.
He's like the intersection of an intentionally vague book of laws and a computer program. His ability to change is heavily limited by how those laws can be interpreted and what his coding can do.
Arlo wasn't made to be a monster. He wasn't made to be cruel. He was made to love and give boons and make the world happier and more beautiful. But he's been broken and warped by pain and a mother and creator who's own perception of reality was twisted into something unrecognizable when she remade herself and brought forth her sons.
He can't see the world for what it is. He was kept so isolated from it that all he knows is what he was told. He was a monster in life too, but he thought he was helping. He thought their people loved him and his brothers. When their sister slaughtered them, rightfully ending their reign of terror, He thought her mind had been the one to be destroyed by an outside force. Not that she was the only one who saw the blood and suffering for what it was.
A lot of his violence and cruelty is born from that extreme naivety, anger at the people for betraying and rejecting his love, ruining his perfect and happy life and taking away his family.
There will never be a day the world doesn't warp around him, that's not even something he does intentionally, but he doesn't have to be so... Arlo.
He does change.
After Conall enters his life, hes finally able to learn more about the world and see it as more than a burden. His anger and hurt begin to subside when he once again has someone to call family and is given the support he needs to begin healing.
And honestly just getting a DVD player and frequent trips to the secondhand store to buy up all the shitty slashers they can resolves about 30% of his behavior issues. A library card handles another 10%, because for all his hurt, he was also just bored.

Wally anon: Oh yay, good. I never know with fans cause some people hate 3 soooo much & it's like damn calm down. (but omg, I know, Idk howwww the same Kevin Williamson who wrote 1/2 planned that shit for 3 & the people who sit around STILL wanting it + Stu to be back is like ???? For me, I'd say things are mostly held together well with 2/3/4 but then you get to 5 & 6 &, well...💀) Oh, I'm not a fan of Judy's kill at all fjdhsk. 🙈 I enjoy Wes's, but wish it had retained the chase element included in the script. Chases are forgotten so frequently & I don't understand howww when everyone always celebrates them when they happen.
Ohhh, I fully misread that lolllll. But guess that's another kink added to the roster for you. 🤭
Yup & it's so weird how some gay will, like...actively chase/obsess over them. Like, I know it's a complicated matter cause you can't help who you like, but...he don't want you. 😶 Especially when they're still able to make you cum even when you've lost the feeling in your legs. 🫣
Oh no💔 Hope you'll be able to bounce outta that 😓 Understandable @ time. I did see how there was a lot of hype for the newest Spider-Man when it dropped (but I fr don't know when the last game I played was I'm terribleeee with that 🫠).
Yupppp 🙌 (I'll see what I can do soon since I'm obviously a little more predisposed to smut lolllll) With such enticing options like Steve & Billy, who wouldn't be? 🤫 (Oh yeah, in general, I feel there isn't enough love for Jason. I understand why. cause some of his behavior, but in the same way that Eddie was reverse engineered to be an ~one season emotional death~ I feel they also. short-changed Jason by making him a ~one season crazy villain~ when it's like...we should be expecting a lot more when we know what this team can do when they try 🤔)  (fhdkdk I used. to be a 3 hater specifically. cause Jeff, but I obviouslyyyyy agree with you now from my placement of it in my ranking) I fr wish 3 had. been the end cause everythinggggg revolving around Amanda John & Lynn just WORKS & it is soooo devastating cause how much we had watched Amanda evolve from movie to movie (but no, we just had to keep going & going after that...) fjdhd tear the devs apart damn 😭 But that's good to know @ you still loving it despite issues. I've never played, just watched a lot of streamers/YTers play (since we've established I'm not much of a gamer), but I very much see the appeal. (But ooh. Makes sense with our ongoing Scream discussions. Who all are your favorite characters/killers in the game?)
It's to the point where terminology like "problematic" has lost all meaning for me cause some people will see the way someone eats a bagel & call it problematic (an exaggeration, but at the same time...is it?) like be fr. There are sometimes. where points are made, but with these 2, in particular, I'm like, "Hmmm, I think y'all are speaking too much on them & jumping to conclusions with their characters." 🧐 Yuppp, absolutely agreed with all of that. In general, outside some cases, when plots entirely. have to rely on extended flashbacks to fill-in information, it strikes me as extremely. lazy cause if Laura was supposed to be such an important character...why were we even spending all that time with the other counselors ckdhd? 💀💀💀 Oh yeah, voice. is to be expected cause that's unique to each writer, but when somebody is avoiding any & all attempts at letting readers know what they're in store for in a fic & basically describe themselves exactly as the "reader," it's like okay 50 Shades Of Grey 🫤
There's just tiny little thoughts so far. I'll have to let them ruminate. 👀 Oh that reallyyyy has me picturing him slapping his fat dick on top of the desk & sliding it back & forth over the paper, getting pre-cum everywhere. 😳
Chases are soooo🤭 idk it makes a slasher icon hot when they gotta chase after you. Like wowwww you want to gut them that bad?? Say less‼️ Plus it’s menacing as hell. Like that one scene of ghostface in the opening of the first movie is so well remembered because he’s literally chasing after someone and you see him gaining on Stacy (was that her name?? the blonde girl from the opening of Scream) and that was scary. Knowing someone is booking after you is crazyyyy
Yup yup, it’s my go to for superheroes because “genetic mutations” made them cum a lotttt and let’s apply it to ghosts
LMAO yeah the gay guys that can’t accept straights are straight are the same as men going for women who aren’t interested in them. Same things fr, same disrespect across the board. Exactly!! They’ve cum so much yet they’re making you still leak cum while everything’s weak😮‍💨
Yeah I’m playing some DBD to take a break from it. I do my best writing at night anyways, so I’m waiting for it to get dark and listen to music and all that🤭
Oh, i’ll take angst smut too🤭 that’s just as good whether it’s hatefucking or something more intense. Jason was missed potential tbh… but I think he gets overhated on a lot. Mostly because he was abusive and hurt lucas and max but like… he had no idea what was going on??😭 I like his representation of an actual outsider getting involved in the mess going on behind the scenes that the main group has kept hidden. It’s better than the Hawkins Lab villains being all basic and generic because Jason at least represents the average person.. 3 makes sm sense to be the end of the series because it kills the main guy making the traps. They could’ve (and should’ve) done a spinoff focusing on Amanda instead of writing her out too. I hate that they kept being like “well this person was shadowing john before this person who was shadowing john before this person…” it’s just so repetitive. In terms of Killers, Ghostface is an aesthetically pleasing character but he’s not my main because his power kinda sucks😪 (stalking but he’s too slow to make good use of it), Demogorgon was up there as my main because he can teleport and has a good ‘dash’ ability that lets him do a long range jump attack, and Tiffany (chucky) is really fun for the same reason as Demo (Michael Myers would be on here but I’m waiting for his rework because his power is so ass). Pig I already said was a favorite of mine since you literally put people in reverse bear traps. Trickster, Artist, and Dredge are probably my favorite original killers in the game. In terms of survivors, I just put who’s hottest as my favorite, and usually it’s Renato Lyra (wrote a fic about pookie🤭) and Gabriel Soma. For licensed survivors, I’d choose Steve Harrington or Leon, since they both have decently good perks and are just🥵 (in other source material, they’re just okay looking here but it’s like how fortnite Leon was adapted to fit the games art style.)
Honestly, that’s so real. Like, the bagel could be from a farm that supports X company and that company is bad because they did/said this years ago. It’s so just sksjsks. It’s like boycotts of massive companies and then “cancelling” people online for giving them money. I feel like most people forget that a lot of Americans don’t have the luxury to boycott some places because they offer affordable items, need it for work, etc. So annoying. Tbh I think with fictional characters, it really doesn’t matter about their actions. Obviously, anything fictional about real people is a different story (like yes, it is problematic to write DAHMER FANFIC?!/&/&/&.. sorry, i just still can’t believe it exists. weirdly enough, i complained about that in a fanfic circle and got banned for “yucking someone’s yum” like, excuse me??) The Billy stuff was particularly annoying because you could not say one nice thing about him without his relationship with Max or him being racist becoming a topic of discussion, but my thing is that he’s fictional and the topic of fics has nothing to do with either?? So no one’s glorifying that part of him or making it out to be good. FIFTY SHADES OF GREY IS SO REAL. EL JAMES IS MY ENEMY FOR MESSING WITH TWILIGht‼️ I know i write very dirty fanfics and smut about other peoples characters, but EL James writing Twilight smut fanfic, then publishing it as 50 Shades, then stealing several of Stephanie Meyers’ moves after publishing the book is so crazy.
Okay okay, I won’t take the cake out too early🫣 I’ll wait and excitedly check my inbox for these because they sound interesting👀 And yesss those papers are drenched and sticking together and he’s like “whoops. guess you’ll have to start all over again after you help me out with this.”
