(cough) I just realized smt, whenever Connor is connecting to an android or receives a case via digitally, he blinks and twitches rapidly—

^ (like in this scene-)

^ (and this scene with Hank.)
I don’t really have a built up expectation in my head but I was hoping maybe you could come up with one :> (edit: thought I could upload this anonymously 😭)
hello hello, tyvm for the ask bc i indeed have some thoughts about this very thing~!!!
so before we dive into headcanons, let's get clear about what the game's canon proposes. this rapid blinking by connor occurs first when he shares his authorization with the st300 and again when he receives a report at chicken feed. so we can extrapolate when he's sending and receiving data remotely, he exhibits this behavior.
do other androids exhibit this behavior when doing something similar?
not really. clearly the st300 receives the authorization, she barely bats an eye. when markus remotely pays for the paints at the store or calls the police, he doesn't blink like this either. when kara orders parts for the dishwasher the only thing blinking is her LED. so clearly, this is a connor-specific reaction to remote data transmission.
do other androids exhibit this behavior at all?
yes actually! the jb300s connor is interrogating at stratford tower rapidly blink when conducting a diagnostic scan. now, what can we presume from that information? well, a full diagnostic scan is quite an intensive process. for computers, it can take awhile because you're having to parse through all the data on a computer. for something as complex as an android to do it in a few seconds, it would take a massive amount of processing power.
i think the rapid blinking may be a byproduct of androids having their processors overclocking (basically going on overdrive). either it's a sort of glitch/bug that manifests itself when an android is processing a lot of information rapidly or it's a feature cyberlife included as a visual cue for humans to know that the android is in the middle of processing something and unable to respond until whatever it is processing is completed (kinda like a loading screen except the visual cue is the blinking).
according to this assumption, connor would exhibit this behavior when his processors are overclocked. but the thing about connor is that he's supposed to be cyberlife's most advanced prototype, right??? so why is he blinking like crazy over simply receiving and transmitting data that doesn't phase a st300?
it's because he's a prototype.
and as much as cyberlife touts him as being super advanced, i headcanon that cyberlife cut a lot of corners too. how else would they just have 10 bodies of this supposedly expensive android ready to go in case he got destroyed?
i think the r&d put into the rk800s was expensive and his software is super advanced, but his hardware... not so much. sure he's got the fancy mouth sensors for crime scene analysis, but just look at connor. he's clumsy (did you see him tumble through that window?? how badly you can fuck up his qtes???) he's constantly fidgeting with a coin for calibration purposes. basically they have this super advanced cpu but it's being bottlenecked by the rest of his hardware.
so what's that got to do with his blinking?
i just think connor's physical body can't keep up with his processing power so you get weird glitches and artefacts that don't show up in other androids. sometimes that shows up in needing constant calibration of his fine motor skills so he doesn't fuck up during combat. and sometimes it shows up in unnecessary blinking for a rudimentary data transfer. he's not quite at home in his body. it's new and his motor drivers don't move as fast as his processors think. he's out of sync with himself so he's not quite the perfect murderbot he's supposed to be (this is also the reason why i think markus who's lived in his body for so long can kick his ass despite being an older model)
at least that's just my headcanon! i could probably yap all day about stuff like this but i've yapped enough. thanks for the ask! love answering questions like this. apologies it took so long i wrote like 80% of this answer and then i disappeared from tumblr for a bit and forgot this was sitting in my drafts. sorry!

Thinking about a dark sbi post-apocalypse scifi AU where 3/4 SBI are androids and Techno is a human...
The apocalypse is directly related to the androids. Specifically, something going wrong in the software, like a bug that flipped the androids into becoming murder machines. A large chunk of the human population is dead and those that remain are in hiding, actively needing to do so for survival.
SBI are special prototypes of a new model of guard/caretaker/companion robots. The only three in existence of this model. The bug has a weird effect on their software. While it does make them murder machines also, it makes them extremely protective of the one specific human they're bonded to. Except, when the bug happened, they hadn't been bonded to anybody yet since they were still in development.
Enter Techno.
Techno is a human who has been surviving in this apocalypse, being smart and nimble and kickass to avoid being killed. He encounters SBI and for *reasons* (which means I'm still working on how exactly), they end up bonded to him.
They now see Techno as their human, the one their entire existence revolves around, the one they need to protect and take care of as a sole purpose. And thanks to the bug, SBI's software is still rather jumbled, and they're not hesitant about hurting anybody else or showing Techno they know what's best of him, no matter how much he complains.

Power Rangers Bolt Boosters
(Logo by WryytArt)
A brilliant inventor in Italy created a device he dubbed the Bolt Booster. The booster can store and release massive amounts of electricity capable of supercharging machines. However nobody would buy it due to the cost of production. One day he met a man named Alessandro Voltolini who agreed to fund the production of the Bolt Boosters. The inventor and his siblings went to work making the first set of the boosters immediately. One night however there was an accident when the main Booster overloaded and exploded, seemingly killing Alessandro. One year later though Alessandro resurfaced, now calling himself the Bolt Baron he exhibits electric powers and leads a force of robots all powered by Bolt Boosters to take over the world. Racked with guilt the inventor creates gear for him and his siblings to use as Power Rangers to defeat this threat.
Power Rangers Bolt Boosters! Ride the Lightning!

Red Boost Ranger- Enrico Cavalcante- A tech genius who gave up many opportunities to help raise his two younger siblings. He created the Bolt Booster system but was unable to find anyone willing to listen to him until he met a rich young man named Alessandro who agreed to fund his project. Enrico never told his siblings the truth of the accident. He discovered Alessandro was attempting to weaponize the Bolt Boosters and a fight broke out which led to the main Booster overloading. Out of guilt Enrico created the morphers and zords to combat Alessandro when he resurfaced as the Bolt Barron. Blaze Booster- Months after forming the Rangers, Enrico returned to the scene of the the accident and recovers one of his prototype Boosters. He deemed this particular model a failure due to it creating intense amounts of heat. With Lorenzo's help Enrico reworks the Blaze Booster into a battilizer, using the excess heat to supercharge its weaponry including a powerful blaster that shoots high pressure water. Face Claim: Vincent Martella

Blue Boost Ranger- Rinaldo Cavalcante- A software genius who can program or hack into anything. He tends to overthink during stressful situations but once he has settled on a plan of action he strikes. Face Claim: Luca Saviozzi Murphy
Pink Boost Ranger- Marianna "Mari" Cavalcante- A former car model who wants to prove she belongs behind the wheel instead of posing near the cars. Tends to take risks in order to get the respect she feels she deserves. Face Claim: Lucia Luna Laurenti Sellers

Black Boost Ranger- Giovanni Romano- A romantic who once dated Mari before the two had a mutual break up. Not long after she introduced Giovanni to her brother Rinaldo and the two began dating. He then became a ranger to help the trio defend people. In his spare time he is writing a romance novel called "Love at the Finish Line" Face Claim: Leo Gassmann

Orange Boost Ranger- Beatrice Valenti- A childhood friend of the siblings who spent most of her time at their home in order to escape her own broken home. After graduation she even lived with them until finding a place of her own. Hides her insecurities about not being as gifted as the others beneath a joking carefree exterior. Became a ranger to help repay the siblings for all they've done for her. Face Claim: Angela Giarratana

Violet Boost Ranger- Lorenzo Adesso- The illegitimate son of Alessandro. For years he hated his father for casting his mother and him out to protect his own image. One day not long after witnessing the Bolt Barron's announcement Lorenzo receives a package in the mail containing a Bolt Booster and a morpher as well as instructions on how to modify it. The package also included a note from Alessandro claiming that Enrico was to blame for the accident that turned him into the Bolt Barron. Lorenzo used the morpher to confront the Rangers only to learn the truth about the accident. Angered at having been used as a pawn by Alessandro he vows to avenge himself and his mother and finally get revenge for all that his father has done by joining the Rangers. Face Claim: Pietro Castellitto
The Red, Blue and Pink Boost Rangers are armed with the Bolt Blasters and Booster Batons. Mari often improvises using the Baton upside down as the Booster Basher. When in Boost the power can be channeled into this to shoot pulses of energy. The Black and Orange Boost Rangers are armed with the Bolt Axes and Booster Blades. The Violet Boost Ranger is armed with the Bolt Bow. All the Rangers can use the tires on their suits for travel or attacks. Enrico can also call on the Trailer Cannon which the Rangers load their cars into to launch at the enemy. The Rangers can release the built up charge in their morphers to access a Booster mode. This supercharges their bodies with electricity enhancing their speed and striking power as well as the ability to launch energy tires at enemies. They can only maintain this for two minutes without risking harm.
By using the Motor Storm Zord with their morphers the Rangers gain the Motor Storm Form in which they are able to summon any zord weapon.
Bolt Zords! Boost Up!
A series of special vehicles enhanced by Bolt Boosters. Each Ranger has multiple Zords Red Boost Ranger Bolt Trailer Zord- Forms the base of the Megazords Bolt Racer Zord- A blazing racecar that can ignite with powerful flames. Bolt Hot Rod Zord- A classic speedster that turns into a slashing sword Bolt Flame Rescue Zord/Blazing Lion Zord Bolt Flame Zord- A swift firetruck speeding to the rescue Bolt Rescue Zord- A powerful ladder truck that combines with the Flame Zord. Blue Boost Ranger Bolt Off Road Zord- An off road vehicle that turns into a lance. Bolt Aqua Zord- An aquarium car that shoots energy blasts
Pink Boost Ranger Bolt Wagon Zord- A quick car that turns into a hand Bolt Hunter Zord- A safari car that turns into a claw Black Boost Ranger Bolt Patrol Zord- A police car that turns into a spiked clamp Bolt Squad Zord- A police van that turns into a pair of pistols Orange Boost Ranger Bolt Digger Zord- An excavator that turns into a missile launcher. Bolt Dozer Zord- A bulldozer that turns into a hammer Violet Boost Ranger Bolt Formula Zord- A high speed racing zord. Motor Storm Carrier Zord- A mighty carrier zord capable of carrying all the Bolt Zords. Nitro Boost Zord- An auxiliary zord that turns into boosters for the Motor Storm Carrier. Bolt Booster Megazord- The Trailer zord combines with two zords forming arms and weapons to access various modes Bolt Booster Megazord RBP Tri Mode Trailer Zord Off Road Zord Wagon Zord Bolt Booster Megazord Red Warrior Mode Trailer Zord Racer Zord Hot Rod Zord Bolt Booster Megazord Black Officer Mode Trailer Zord Patrol Zord Squad Zord Bolt Booster Megazord Orange Construction Mode Trailer Zord Digger Zord Dozer Zord Bolt Booster Megazord Monster Mauler Mode Trailer Zord Aqua Zord Hunter Zord Formula Racer Megazord Formula Zord Bolt Racer Megazord Trailer Zord Off Road Zord Wagon Zord Formula Zord
Blazing Bolt Megazord Trailer Zord Flame Zord Rescue Zord Bolt Bazooka Formation Blazing Bolt Megazord Formula Racer Megazord All Zords Motor Storm Ultrazord Motor Storm Carrier Zord Nitro Zord Bolt Booster Megazord
Bolt Baron and his Lightning Legion
The Bolt Baron- Alessandro Voltolini- A man of great wealth and grand goals. He saw the potential of the Bolt Boosters the moment he met Enrico. Unfortunately that potential was to turn them into weapons of war. When Enrico found out the two fought causing the main Booster to overload and explode. During the explosion Alessandro's body was altered somehow allowing him to generate electricity from his own body. Fleeing the scene he hid in a secret factory he had planned to use to make the weapons. He spent months testing his new powers and using what he had learned from Enrico to build his own Bolt Boosters. He also built himself a set of powered armor to wear into battle. He then created a legion of robotic warriors to do his bidding.
BoomBlast- A robotic warrior capable of generating explosive waves from his body. His ego is stronger than his attacks. Thunder Tigress- A feline robot whose claws are charged with electricity. To the Barron's dismay she's just as lazy as a house cat. HiJax- A fixer bot who acts as Bolt Baron's confidant
Spirill- A warrior wielding a powerful drill and a drive to win no matter the cost. Created specifically to fight the Rangers. Rebuilt into stronger forms after defeats. Maddox- A repair bot who upgrades bots to increase their attack power. Recykil- A repair bot who can rebuild destroyed bots stronger than before. Jeevolt- A bodyguard for the Baron fashioned in the image of a butler. Bolt Breaker- A war machine built in the image of the Bolt Booster Megazord. BoltBots- Mass produced robotic warriors
Power Rangers Armored Boosters: A member of the Insetario still loyal to the previous warlord escapes stealing a Potenseto. They find their way to Earth where they steal a Bolt Booster and use it to boost the Potenseto's power causing both teams of Rangers to unite to deal with the threat.
Morphers: Bolt Morphers- Wrist worn Bolt Boosters. Red Blue Pink Hand Held- Black and Orange Gauntlet mounted- Violet Morphing Call: Boost Up the Power!
Morphing: The Rangers activate their Bolt Boosters and a ranger colored energy wheel is generated. As they activate it the morpher announces "Bolt" "Bolt Boost" "BOLT BOOSTERS!". They shoot it and when it hits a surface it speeds back to them. It then spins around the ranger from their feet up forming the suit before becoming the visor.

The MS-07B Gouf
In preparation for the invasion of Earth, Zeon forces modified a number of MS-06 Zaku-II F-types for use under the effects of the planet's gravity. The new "J-type" Zaku-IIs featured a number of internal hardware and software changes to enhance their viability on the ground.
The Zaku-II J-Type would be used as a testbed for new developments with the goal of creating a new mass-production mobile suit for use on the ground. And where the Zaku was intended for anti-ship and anti-aerospace combat, this new platform would be built to fight other mobile suits.
Zimmad and Zeonic would both begin working on this new project, directly competing with one another, but eventually coming up with very similar designs. Zeonic moved forward with the YMS-07A Prototype Gouf, and Zimmad presented the YMS-08A High Mobility Test Type.

While Zimmad's design failed to show a significant increase in performance from the Zaku-II J-Type, Zeonic's "Gouf" showed immense promise. The prototype would be picked up and would see a limited production run as the MS-07A Gouf.

The MS-07A was a pre-production model intended for data gathering. The final mass-production model would feature several additional weapon systems, such as an in-built 75mm machine gun in the left manipulator, and a retractable "Heat Rod" on the left forearm.

The Gouf was used to great effect by Zeon captain Ramba Ral, who went toe-to-toe with the Earth Federation's infamous RX-78-2 Gundam.

Among the Ace pilots who used the Gouf as their personal units, Viche Donahue, Silas Locke, and Norris Packard were among the most well-known. All three of these aces would become battlefield legends, with Packard's MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom becoming especially infamous. The machine's equipment proved so effective that it became a common alternate loadout for many Gouf pilots.

The MS-07 would be customized for a variety of roles and theaters, with many of these variants seeing further developments of their own.

Notable among these was the MS-07W Gouf Combined Test Type, which featured a miniaturized Dopp fighter serving as its cockpit. The development of the machine was heavily influenced by data gathered from the Federation's RX-series of mobile suits. Namely, their "Core Block" system.

The Gouf would also see another fork, being developed into the MS-07H Gouf Flight Type. While both prototypes made use of thermonuclear rocket engines, the final version used thermonuclear jet engines, allowing for greater efficiency in atmospheric flight.

The MS-07B saw further refinement into the MS-07C. While not much is known about its specifications, there are at least three known variants. A number of Goufs were acquired by Zimmad and used as testbeds for systems to be incorporated into the MS-09 Dom series of mobile suits. These Goufs were MS-07Cs.

And finally, in UC 120, nearly 50 years from the initial deployment of the original machine, Mars Zeon would develop and deploy the OMS-07RF RF Gouf. While externally resembling the MS-07B, the OMS-07-RF was a completely new machine which could also operate in space, unlike its predecessors.

The MS-07B Gouf was originally designed by Kunio Okawara for the 1979 Anime "Mobile Suit Gundam".
This article was a request! Requests are always welcome!
I am so terribly sorry for the delay in getting this post out! It's been a very hectic few months, but I'm hoping to get back in the flow of things!

Just a small project i´ve been working on
Inglés/English
When I found out that the G5 series of My Little Pony had been cancelled, I had a nostalgic attack and decided to watch the Friendship is Magic series again, taking advantage of the fact that it is complete on YouTube, to refresh my memory and then watch the "complete" G5, something I haven't done yet because I don't have the money to pay for Netflix and I don´t want to risk with a pirate site to watch the movie :P. The thing is that while I was watching the series at some point I got the idea that the adventures of Twilight and friends would fit very well in an RPG style game, so I started digging around the fandom to see what kind of fangames I could find (don't even get me started on official mobile games, I'm against the business model of those kinds of games), but the thing is that, apart from some horror games like those of Princess Luna or the one of Applebloom in the town without cutie marks, some MMOs, the games based on the Fallout Equestria fanfic and that filthy game with Trixie, I didn't find anything that resembled the idea I had in mind (Don't get me wrong, a lot of those games look really fun, especially "that one") so I said to myself "Hey, what if I made that game?".
With this idea in mind I started to fantasize about what this videogame would be like and I had the idea of making it in clickteam fusion, the same engine that the classic FNaF games are made in, a saga of which I am a fan, so I started to learn about the particularities of this software and to design prototypes for some mechanics that I want to include, such as a mission system and an inventory. What you see in the video is a practically finished version of a character customization system, which has several options so you can create the pony that best suits your personal tastes.
After much thought I decided to call this project "MLP: Harmony is Magic". As I already implied this is a fangame so it does not have the official license nor the support of Hasbro (hopefully not their wrath either). It will be inspired by G4, which includes the main series, the comics both canonical and non-canonical, some information taken from the books, and content related to Equestria Girls. In "Harmony is magic" you will take on the role of a pony who, along with his five friends, must face threats that will put the fate of Equestria in peril and overcome trials in which their friendship will be challenged. Explore this magical kingdom to meet and help its inhabitants and fight in turn-based combats against monsters such as Manticores, Little and Big Dippers, Vampire Ponies, Changelings and others that endanger the peace of the little equines, with the help of an enigmatic being that will not last long when it comes to lending its strength to restore harmony: the Tree.
I still have many things to work on, for example in the aesthetic section of the game, which I can tell it will be in a minimalist pixel-art style to resemble the aesthetic of the series. I also have to polish some mechanics and finish designing others, such as the special powers of each pony race or a cutie mark´s skills system inspired by Pokémon. When I have something more to show, I will return with another post; In the meantime, be happy, learn about friendship, drink water and whatever.
Meow.
=================================================Español/Spanish:

Sir Lionel Frost's Face
LAIKA's 3D-Printed rapid prototype faces are more often than not, split into two pieces: The eyebrows, and the mouth.
The reason?: The ability to Mix and Match. Fun, right? Yes, although there's one problem: A seam is visible across the eyes. While this can be left in for aesthetic purposes, LAIKA prefers to digitally paint out the seam, one frame at a time.
For Missing Link, LAIKA developed a tracking software to help accelerate the process. (To be fair, it does sound very very boring)

A helpful soul brought a very interesting source to our attention, WACV_dataset_sir_lionel on Github! Which demonstrates even more examples of the software in action, as well as some raw, unedited images of Lionel's face before cleanup.
Perhaps the most interesting thing included in here is this video, applying the tracking software to faces at different angles, within the modeling software... I think.
Regretfully, I feel like I don't know enough about how these films are made to confidently describe what's going on

I think I finally know what I want to do!
So, my autism already makes it possible for me to get "lost" in my own inner world. I can conjure whatever story, image, scenery and characters I want- evenmore so / even better if they're attached to a song / music that sets a mood, beat or simply conveys a strong emotion.
Now imagine if you'd be able to experience my "visions" and fantasy by visiting them in VR.
Ultimately, I already knew that I wanted to do UX for XR / VR, but I might have to turn this whole thing into something akin to an app or app add-on... Like making it some kind of special feature or world type within VRChat, that people could visit to experience a snippet of someone else's dream.
It's ridiculously ambitious and I would probably have to learn to use Blender, After Effects, Unity and some coding in conjunction with other software, platforms, libraries and APIs... But hell, I'll be damned if I don't give this a shot.
If you have any suggestions for me, please tell me what you think. I'm already diving into XR prototyping apps like Bezi, ShapesXR and now the newly released Bonfire app on Steam. I could also sculpt static 3D models directly in VR using Shapelab, Figmin XR or Zbrush (TiltBrush successor?).

A week after its algorithms advised people to eat rocks and put glue on pizza, Google admitted Thursday that it needed to make adjustments to its bold new generative AI search feature. The episode highlights the risks of Google’s aggressive drive to commercialize generative AI—and also the treacherous and fundamental limitations of that technology.
Google’s AI Overviews feature draws on Gemini, a large language model like the one behind OpenAI’s ChatGPT, to generate written answers to some search queries by summarizing information found online. The current AI boom is built around LLMs’ impressive fluency with text, but the software can also use that facility to put a convincing gloss on untruths or errors. Using the technology to summarize online information promises can make search results easier to digest, but it is hazardous when online sources are contractionary or when people may use the information to make important decisions.
“You can get a quick snappy prototype now fairly quickly with an LLM, but to actually make it so that it doesn't tell you to eat rocks takes a lot of work,” says Richard Socher, who made key contributions to AI for language as a researcher and, in late 2021, launched an AI-centric search engine called You.com.
Socher says wrangling LLMs takes considerable effort because the underlying technology has no real understanding of the world and because the web is riddled with untrustworthy information. “In some cases it is better to actually not just give you an answer, or to show you multiple different viewpoints,” he says.
Google’s head of search Liz Reid said in the company’s blog post late Thursday that it did extensive testing ahead of launching AI Overviews. But she added that errors like the rock eating and glue pizza examples—in which Google’s algorithms pulled information from a satirical article and jocular Reddit comment, respectively—had prompted additional changes. They include better detection of “nonsensical queries,” Google says, and making the system rely less heavily on user-generated content.
You.com routinely avoids the kinds of errors displayed by Google’s AI Overviews, Socher says, because his company developed about a dozen tricks to keep LLMs from misbehaving when used for search.
“We are more accurate because we put a lot of resources into being more accurate,” Socher says. Among other things, You.com uses a custom-built web index designed to help LLMs steer clear of incorrect information. It also selects from multiple different LLMs to answer specific queries, and it uses a citation mechanism that can explain when sources are contradictory. Still, getting AI search right is tricky. WIRED found on Friday that You.com failed to correctly answer a query that has been known to trip up other AI systems, stating that “based on the information available, there are no African nations whose names start with the letter ‘K.’” In previous tests, it had aced the query.
Google’s generative AI upgrade to its most widely used and lucrative product is part of a tech-industry-wide reboot inspired by OpenAI’s release of the chatbot ChatGPT in November 2022. A couple of months after ChatGPT debuted, Microsoft, a key partner of OpenAI, used its technology to upgrade its also-ran search engine Bing. The upgraded Bing was beset by AI-generated errors and odd behavior, but the company’s CEO, Satya Nadella, said that the move was designed to challenge Google, saying “I want people to know we made them dance.”
Some experts feel that Google rushed its AI upgrade. “I’m surprised they launched it as it is for as many queries—medical, financial queries—I thought they’d be more careful,” says Barry Schwartz, news editor at Search Engine Land, a publication that tracks the search industry. The company should have better anticipated that some people would intentionally try to trip up AI Overviews, he adds. “Google has to be smart about that,” Schwartz says, especially when they're showing the results as default on their most valuable product.
Lily Ray, a search engine optimization consultant, was for a year a beta tester of the prototype that preceded AI Overviews, which Google called Search Generative Experience. She says she was unsurprised to see the errors that appeared last week given how the previous version tended to go awry. “I think it’s virtually impossible for it to always get everything right,” Ray says. “That’s the nature of AI.”
Even if blatant errors like suggesting people eat rocks become less common, AI search can fail in other ways. Ray has documented more subtle problems with AI Overviews, including summaries that sometimes draw on poor sources such as sites that are from another region or even defunct websites—something she says could provide less useful information to users who are hunting for product recommendations, for instance. Those who work on optimizing content for Google’s Search algorithm are still trying to understand what’s going on. “Within our industry right now, the level of confusion is on the charts,” she says.
Even if industry experts and consumers get more familiar with how the new Google search behaves, don’t expect it to stop making mistakes. Daniel Griffin, a search consultant and researcher who is developing tools to make it easy to compare different AI-powered search services, says that Google faced similar problems when it launched Featured Snippets, which answered queries with text quoted from websites, in 2014.
Griffin says he expects Google to iron out some of the most glaring problems with AI Overviews, but that it’s important to remember no one has solved the problem of LLMs failing to grasp what is true, or their tendency to fabricate information. “It’s not just a problem with AI,” he says. “It’s the web, it’s the world. There’s not really a truth, necessarily.”

At the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, Porsche unveiled a unique one-off vehicle: the Porsche 963 RSP. Developed as a tribute to the legendary 917 and inspired by Count Rossi’s 1975 street-driven prototype, the 963 RSP is based on Porsche’s LMDh competition car but reimagined for public roads under special conditions.
The project was a collaboration between Porsche AG, Porsche Penske Motorsport, and Porsche Cars North America, with direct involvement from Roger Penske—whose initials form the RSP name. The concept was initiated as a design study and passion project, eventually culminating in a street-legal prototype unveiled near Circuit de la Sarthe.
The 963 RSP retains the race-spec 4.6-liter twin-turbocharged V8 hybrid powertrain, delivering up to 680 horsepower. Originally developed for the RS Spyder and later refined in the 918 Spyder, the engine architecture includes a flat crankshaft, short stroke, and Van der Lee turbochargers for optimized throttle response. The hybrid system uses a Bosch motor generator unit and a Williams Advanced Engineering battery, working with a 7-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox. For road use, the power delivery was remapped to be smoother, and the system was configured to run on pump fuel.
To comply with road operation under French regulation, the chassis was adjusted with raised ride height, softened Multimatic dampers, and revised software to enable functioning headlights, taillights, and turn signals. Michelin rain-spec tires were mounted on 18-inch forged OZ wheels. Unique modifications such as covered wheel arches, a working horn, and license plate mounts were added.
Visually, the 963 RSP is finished in Martini Silver paint—not a wrap—requiring a triple-layer lacquer on ultra-thin Kevlar® and carbon fiber surfaces. An enamel Porsche crest replaces the standard nose graphic, and 1970s Michelin branding adds a period-correct touch. The rear features a 3D-printed “963 RSP” badge.
The interior departs sharply from the competition car. Trimmed in tan leather and Alcantara, it includes a cushioned, leather-wrapped carbon seat, air conditioning, a leather-finished steering wheel, and even a detachable 3D-printed cup holder. Storage space is provided for a laptop, headset, and Roger Penske’s custom carbon helmet. Ventilation outlets mimic the 917’s engine fan design, reinforcing historical continuity.
While the 963 RSP is not homologated for mass production, it is fully operational and authorized for limited road use under manufacturer permissions. Following its debut, the vehicle will appear at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart and the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
This project showcases Porsche’s ability to blend heritage, engineering, and bespoke craftsmanship—all within the limits of a modern endurance prototype.

aight on today's episode of the "Things that Appeal to Me and Me Alone Show"
I really enjoy VOCALOID/vocal synth stories where the characters are actual androids instead of software programs or just regular humans. So of course my whump-loving brain suggested to me "hey we've already seen 'android pop idols', what if they were mass-produced companion androids that people could buy?"
As a luxury item, of course. Most would end up in the homes of people looking for a new toy or following rich-people trends.
The Hatsune Miku model explodes in popularity for a few years - at least until the market gets bored of them. Afterwards, you can find their skeletons and mainframes in dumpsters and garbage cans. Who cares? Miku models are a dime a dozen by android pricing standards.
Repairs are absurdly expensive in a bid to get customers to just buy a new one. The obvious side-effect of this is a bootleg repair community incentivized to pick apart unwanted models for parts. They may or may not still be active.
Oh, and the customizations people do on their androids? You're telling me all four of these ones are KAITO models? I can barely recognize them!
The models in the first 2-for-1 Kagamine pack were so shoddily constructed that Crypton Technologies put out a recall order within the first month of their release. People could've sworn that as they were being returned - whether by transportation truck or being taken to a store in-person - that their eyes seemed a little more lifeless than usual, with that kind of flatness you only saw in doomed men: that grim acceptance. They were likely just imagining it though, since they're so lifelike...
The only prototype for the unreleased Ring Suzune model wastes away in a History of Robotics museum, only activated during open hours to look pretty and greet museum-goers.
#these ideas are by no means exclusive to vocaloid characters but...I luv them...#whump#android whumpee#vocaloid#vocal synth#hatsune miku#kaito#kagamine rin#kagamine len#ring suzune

Software Development Life Cycle
The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a systematic process used to build software applications with quality and efficiency. It outlines a series of phases like planning, analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance that guide developers from an idea to a fully functional product. Each SDLC model offers a different approach to managing these phases, based on the project's complexity, goals, and flexibility needs. Understanding the available models helps teams choose the right path for smooth and effective software development.
Key SDLC Models:
Waterfall Model: A simple and linear approach where each phase is completed before the next one starts. It works best when requirements are clear and fixed.
Agile Model: Focuses on flexibility and iterative progress. It allows constant feedback and adaptations throughout the development cycle.
Spiral Model: Combines elements of both design and prototyping with a focus on risk analysis. It's ideal for large, high-risk projects.
V-Model: An extension of the Waterfall model that emphasizes testing at every stage. Each development phase has a directly associated testing phase.

“It’s a newer venture for Blanchard Tech, but one that we believe will be quite profitable in the future. We’ve only got a few select prototypes at the moment, sold mainly to personal acquaintances or those with elite interests.” Left unspoken— people with enough money to fund the research on them.
“But I’ve worked on them myself, and made myself well acquainted with their software and hardware. We hope to introduce a public line of them in the future, but they’re currently still susceptible to too many variables, which would be a risk in the average family’s hands.”
Salem made an agreeable noise then said, “Yes. They’re a bit… volatile, are they not?”
“They can be, if they’re not built professionally, and many on the market aren’t currently.” Nolan knew the speech his father told people when he convinced them to try on of their models, “But ours are manageable and fairly easy to maintain, even as an individual. If Blanchard Tech were to mass produce them, we’d want to build on that customizability, but make them safer for the average user.”
