Spire of the Centipede Compilation Post
The Maze is dotted with a number of trial dungeons, the final test of a warrior society now lost to the mists of time.  They took the defense of their greatest magical arts and weapons very seriously, and considered each of the sites within the maze to be a separate high-security vault to test the wit and might of those who would follow in their footsteps.  Where they all went, none know; rumor has it some unnamed crime brought the judgement of their god or gods down upon them.  The Spire is simply one such facility
The Crypt For the Living is one of the two original defensive mechanisms built to facilitate keeping the Dungeon and its prize safe, an immense vault of exotic beasts kept in eternal slumber until the Spire is intruded upon.  This means that they’re only released when their specific floor is intruded upon- and that if the intruders are quick, they can catch the territorial beasts still groggy from their stasis.
The Growing Rite is an ongoing ritual perpetuated by a group of near-immortal mushroom people deep in the depths under the Spire.  As the treasures are hidden at the spire’s pinnacle, going to resolve this matter takes would-be explorers out of their way, but it’s worth it- until they’re stopped, the mushroom people’s magic causes the interior of the Spire to grow vegetation riotously to interfere in combat and make exploration difficult.
The jungle delvers, on the other hand, are survivalists that live in the maze around the spire, venerating it as holy ground and only tapping its seemingly-bottomless vault of dinosaurs as a last resort or on special ceremonial occasions.  They’re intolerant of trespassers, as they consider the maze and Spire worthy of veneration, and while they don’t jump straight to violence, they will get there eventually against persistent intruders.
The dungeon’s Master, the Primordial Gnawer, is the spire builders’ final test, a sentient rune-engraved arthropod of immense size and hostility.  It takes its duties very seriously, as intruders are the only entertainment (and food) it ever gets; while it doesn’t experience hunger in the Spire, it does savor the taste of meat, and considers eating intruders something akin to a sacred duty.
The lesser reward for persisting through the dungeon’s trials is a gift of wealth and power: a treasure horde with a potent magical weapon at its heart as a reward for persistance and courage.  The wealth is in raw golden jewelry and art made from jade, turquoise, and coral; the weapon is a polearm or other thrusting or hafted weapon, planted victoriously in a dinosaur skull for display.
The greater reward is the Waterknot, a band of flowing liquid water that grants its wielder a number of abilities related to timelessness or stasis- water is ageless, and the builders considered it a symbol of eternity.  The wielder of the Waterknot can, by tapping its power, hold creatures, objects, and even time itself in stasis, once they’ve mastered the ancient artifact sufficiently.

Just had a wild friggin dream about Murder Drones. I honestly think it was about my AU but like not. Like the Corpse Spire was actually a huge skyscraper like tower thing instead and there were like Humans there still.
But like it started out with N crying because V died. Her core got got. It was after the finale though because Uzi could turn into a Solver Centipede and was gonna do anything to help N avenge V, but also simultaneously it took place during the pilot because Uzi wearing a dog costume had to like hide from N V and J in a flashback by pretending to be a plushie. And N V and J walked on all 4's like crabs
And I was either observing or taking the POV of my OC. It was so freaking wild.

Just poring over some of the new images. ◕‿◕ DA:TV spoilers under cut.
Tumblr media
in what seems to be an in-gameplay version of the more cinematic[?] group-fight scene we saw at the end of the character trailer, Rogue Rook stands ready to fight with Harding and Taash (toll...). Red lyrium mutated darkspawn that remind me of these guys from concept art, with red lyrium claws (! dangerous. and new I think?), run towards them. the structures around them are Blighted, covered by Tainted pustules and horrible growths. red lighting enhances the impression/threat of red lyrium spread and in general. also, I am really curious what these blue lamp things are? something to do with blue lyrium, or objects we can break to refresh our potion supply in the boss battle with this dragon and its darkspawn adds that is clearly about to go down, perhaps? the backdrop looks like a starry sky, and in the middle it reminds me of an eclipse 👀 (which is a prominent motif in DA:TV promo material and some previous lore. e.g. one, two, three), like the moon is blocking out the sun.
the scene compositionally reminds me of this key art, though it seems to be a different dragon, as this one's horns curl down and that one's horns curl up.
behind the dragon are the Evanuris head statues. maybe this fight occurs near the end of the game, and the team return to where it all began (Solas' ritual site in Arlathan Forest) to take down the final boss? maybe in that time red lyrium/Taint corruption overtook the area. or maybe this is taking place in the Gold/Black City in the Fade [it could be both, the Fade reflects the waking world sometimes]. as it also reminds me compositionally of the vinyl covers, Gold and Black. the dragon, the outspread wings, a figure/s in the foreground, the sun/moon/eclipse imagery in the background, corruption, the city surrounds. though this dragon's horns match neither of the dragons below hh.
Tumblr media
the spire-like structures with their points remind me of the spire-like structures of the City here on the vinyl art - namely, the timepoint on the right, when everything is corrupted and Blighted, like it is in the image above with Rook.
I wanna say that maybe the dragon in the image above with Rook is Elgar'nan in dragon form. The Evanuris Were [all] Dragons[haped sometimes], "Elgar'nan, Wrath and Thunder, strike the usurpers with your lightning, burn the ground under your gaze, bring Winged Death against those who throw down our work", "Light radiates from the eidolon’s narrowed eyes and its open, snarling mouth", "Elgar'nan, Sun's death, burn the ground under your gaze, grant the fire blessing, your people call out, for all things to end in flame." he's back now, and Ghilan'nain is also back but she wouldn't need to take dragon form maybe, she's already in a kinda monstrous form in the gameplay reveal video and for variety her boss battle could have her in the massive centipede-monster form instead, two.

Another Murder Drones Au Things
so another idea with episodes came to my mind
well...technically two
first one is called
Murder Drones: Home in Time
Ep 1 "The Past is our prime": due to a bit of timing, N, V, and J are all there at the spire as they come back, a lil madess and hectic quick thinking as J starts up the emp, Uzi fires at it, the blast of uzi's railgun hitting the emp just before it was gonna release, leading to a time vortex being produced from all the energy combining, leading our dear dd's back to place they never thought they would ever see again. the manor (also due to temporal energies, they are once more assigned back to tessa as admin...memories are unblocked for better or worse as well due to this), point of view of the episode is from N primarily.
Ep 2 "the cores hum in contentment": After a long while of thinking, they decide to go through the back basement entrance to enter, interrupting another cyn and solver chat, solver is of course gathering many data at the implications and cyn faces the music from a very different V, an as expected J, and a “not mad but disappointed” N that she’d do it, being forced to explain to a truly big brother and big sisters her origin, it does also belp calm v and j though that N is back to his protective nature, though there own convo is interrupted by…past themselves and tessa.
Ep 3 “Workshop Lullabies”: after lengthy conversations, tessa hooks the dd’s up back in a lil workshop of hers, turning on tunes to relax to while she helps herself to overlooking and blueprinting all the design differences in both code and materials used, listening to hums of relaxed cores of both the regular manor crew and the modified DD crew (also a lil headcanon, that while worker cores hum and solver cores thump like a real heart, dd cores are smack dab in the middle, they hum still but in the same on and off and off repetition as a heart’s thumps). Tessa finds devs notes from her original fixes that confirms it is indeed them.
Ep 4 “parents are away, now the real family comes to play!”: The elliott’s go on a business trip that they have decided does not need their tessa, which allows the potential future peeps to come up into the manor, tessa puts glasses on dd V, causing her to blush….she then puts two pairs on the j’s after they giggled simply saying “you aren’t gonna squint anymore, my jaybirds”, they blue-screen briefly but manage to recover. Cyn kinda just sits there, mainly cus she doesn’t like the future this shows her, even if their presence fixed it, she hurt them and changed them. Solver says “hey, that’s my work!”. Which on one hand, does help, on the other…still kinda does not. Though the N’s aren’t gonna let her do that, giggle big brother! Okay. Okay. i will accept. Piggy back. Rides.
Ep 5 “nightmares of things to come”: nightmares…they can recall the past and be stitched with memories, n, v, and j all have nightmares of the gala to come, but a question looms over all their heads when they awaken again “will they be able to save her?”
Ep 6 “A rich build-up”: The plans for the gala begin to happen, groceries orders prepared in advanced, things get set up for the right caterings, and many other things, the dd's explore the untouched area's of the basement, and discover the solver's new plan while trying to escape it's potential consequences in the form of it's own creations in a sense.
Ep 7 "would you really still love me if I was a monster?": a fully metal and industrial version of the centipede cyn, roams the basement, pacing around the basement an anxious mess because the solver left her looking like that since it couldn't enact the original plan as it hoped, not without leaving the dd's distracted, and this was it's solution.
Ep 8 "The Final Bow": It's the day of the gala, cyn(it's solver using holograms to present itself as her) is determined to enact it's solution upon earth, and it will complete....it....why does it hear boss music?
and with that one in mind, let's check out the other side of things, remember that during intermission that the food station is open and the beverage station is open *humming the tune of "let's all go to the lobby" (it's stuck in my head again lol)*
after all...we left uzi alone, remember? hehehehehehehheheeeeeeeeeee
Murder Drones: Dispersion Of Alteration's
Ep 1 "The shot that rocked the world": We follow Uzi this time for the POV, going through the usual stuff until the divergence from canon, holy [Parental Advisory redaction], she did it! She managed to somehow send the murder drones away, judging by the screams not kill them but probably sent them far away, haha her gun worked! though she was indeed sure that it had something to do with the Emp part mixing with it, she'd have to figure that out later, for now, she was gonna have to go home, who cares if no one believes her, she dealt with a problem once, she can probably figure it out!
Ep 2 "to the beat of your core": Lizzy and others attempts to genuinely bully her were falling on deaf ears, which doll notices, she was too elated after the last day, and why wouldn't she, she did end up getting a talk from her dad about the inner workings of doors (okay so maybe some of the mechanisms could be useful for things other then doors, she'd figure out how to translate this into her works, it had been a while since they last talked, she wasn't gonna admit it, but it was nice) but along side that, doll said she wants to have a chat again after so long. Meanwhile the solver looms....it knows something happened... checking it's home base's systems....temporal anomaly? trying to regenerate the trio brings up an error of them being both out of range and admins been given to....tessa. welp, that's another past solvers problem now. well, she had always wanted to send out these two anyhow, one of them took long....a preserved human mind was quite the transfer anyhow.
Ep 3 "A Gala or a Prom?" So doll and uzi have a...very long chat...they ended up having a sleep over, doll's place was a bit of a mess but that's fine, still groggy, uzi sips some oil. which leaves doll a bit...perturbed and wid eyed...it takes a moment for uzi to register why as she fully wakes up...though still drinking the oil like its coffee as the solver symbol flickers in her hand and she slowly sets the knife down that doll was planning to use "do you wanna talk about our moms...or am I gonna end up like the rest of the suckers?" doll, knowing how her mother and nori were friends from somewhere before they came here, feels like they were restepping old ground in a a new way. Lizzy helps the two get ready, if they both were gonna be there, they were gonna have a theme, causing both to blush at the prospect. as the prom goes on, two new dd's watch from the shadows over the targets, designations? C and T and PSU. (tessa/T is in a war mechanic outfit in the dd body, just take her old interests and apply that to her outfit, C/Cyn is in surprisingly comfy clothes for a dd body, sweat pants, long sleeved sweater that ends, PSU...hey yeah, remember the poor sap who watched as his buddy got STABBED by james with a fork?? yeah this is him, acronym stands for Personal Security Unit, man is there to ensure the other two don't fall out of line and stay alive, wearing what is effectively a trench coat and a fedora)
Ep 4 "The Mothers final hope's broken": if nori and yeva saw them now, standing outside the very place that they hoped their children would never have to touch again to get answers? they'd both understand but still be mad that they did it, doll and uzi explore the area of the cabin's searching for answers. But while they do so, the new trio ambush them, leading to a brawl between the two solver users and the new trio within the snowy landscape, the duo having to get creative with their new powers
Ep 5 "Memories are where the info lie": after realizing they could regenerate from just about anything, doll and uzi, try to come up with a new plan, and the idea of probing memories comes up. oh boy are they gonna see the origin of their interesting powers from three different views, yippee :D
Ep 6 "deep breath's, Everyone!": after a long while of this new trio coming to terms with...all of that. Doll and uzi bringing them along for the adventure into the labs, more secrets shall be unlocked, sentinels....tessa....tessa please....tessa. fine that one can be your dingo, but only one! oh and beau and alice are here too btw, don't forget those wild cards heheheheh
Ep 7 "Cathedral Bells toll": "you look familiar, do I know you?" "yes. nori. solver...thought I needed to. be on the front lines." "cyn?! oh that complicates things...um less talk more running!" meanwhile doll and Uzi and the others are dealing with prototype experiments that never saw the light of day till now, they get separated and the solver gals continue despite it
Ep 8 "Crimson and indigo is a lovely combo shade for the sky": The big battle, things have changed, but also not really, two solver-crossed lovers are a bout to fight a eldritch beast and win!
and thus that closes the over arching au's caused by this Divergence
the total thing called Murder Drones: Temporal Shift
I'd like some thoughts on it
hey @logo-comics and @silentmagi? I have another Idea to share with y'all if that's alright.

Saw a post saying that it didn't make sense that J died while N didn't during the pilot episode and then my Tumblr reloaded itself before I could snag the post link, so unfortunately no hyperlink or direct response to it.
But did want to point out one important thing regarding how the Solver works, being that regeneration of any kind requires materials. With that in mind, it makes perfect sense why N survived and regenerated while J didn't.
Look at the locations where they "died".
Uzi blew N's head off while they were near the corpse spires. He had PLENTY of material right next to him to use for regeneration.
Uzi blew J's head off inside the colony, where there was nothing near her that she could use. Insufficient material = no regeneration. It's further compounded in Episode 2 after she gets turned into the eldritch centipede thing. The Solver outright admits that it's slaughtering the colony drones to collect materials for J's revival.
So I mean, it checks out.

It's halfway through the year? Got any favorite albums/books/tv shows/whatever to recommend?
So for the first time I have actually been keeping a spreadsheet with the intent of ranking all the things this year to keep track of what I've read/watched etc and not rely on my memory so in theory this should be easy but in truth I've only been updating it for movies and books so I will have to rely on my memory after all.
Albums
I do not keep track of the albums I've been listening but I have been listening to Avantasia's discography lately and it's all been hitting for me, I think the Wicked Symphony especially was my favourite of their work.
I also listened to The Moody Blues' 'Days of Future Passed' just today so I'll mention that as well, I enjoyed it. (I fully intended to come back here and write some more later but I guess I didn't, it's neat I guess)
Judging based off my liked songs on Spotify I really liked most of Deep Purple's album 'House of Blue Light' and both of Savage Garden's albums.
For a perennial I still love The Bangles' third album "Everything", my first listen I had a few standouts like "In Your Room", "Be With You", "Something to Believe In" but I currently adore pretty much every track on there.
Have I listened to much modern this year? Alas no I am cursed by most of my current listening habits coming from deciding to check out whatever is being referenced in the current episode of Jojo that I'm rewatching and since I just reached Part 5 that means at best they'll be 25 years old.
Books
I've actually kept track of my books so this should be easy, 'Catch 22'; It's a classic for a reason, it's just really really good.
The Adrian Tchaikovsky zone; I read 'City of Last Chances', its sequel 'House of Open Wounds' and the final part of the Final Architecture trilogy 'Lords of Uncreation' this year, all phenomenal (2, 3 and 4 on my books of the year list), City of Last Chances slightly pips the others (and as the opener to a series is the easiest rec). You get a huge and diverse range of points of view all over a city under imperial occupation, great worldbuilding as I always expect from him. There's even a giant centipede what more can you ask for? (I'm also reading his Alien Clay right now, that's a stand alone novel starring a scientist exiled to a work camp on another planet because of his political activism, real good so far, love all the weird alien life it has. It'll probably be joining the Tchaikovsky zone unsure where at though yet)
Oh I've just noticed Bret Hart's biography isn't on my list so I gotta say "Hitman", incredible. The life of a wrestler is wild and Bret Hart especially has had quite the life. So much I didn't know about. The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be (but not the best on my list).
The rest of my top ten, CL Clarke's 'The Unbroken' and 'The Faithless', Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone's 'This is How You Lose the Time War', AK Larkwood's 'The Ten Thousand Eyes' and Garth Marenghi's Terrortome
Games
I feel like I've barely played any games this year. Slay the Spire is still the only Roguelike you'll ever need. I'll be replaying Slay the Princess when Pristine Cut comes out later this year so I'll throw that in here, that's an incredible horror visual novel, tons of branching paths, all voice acted to perfection. I'm in the middle of a Freedom Planet replay, so if you like classic 2D Sonic games this is a really good Soniclike
(Me from after I wrote all this) Oh yeah Hades II exists and I somehow forgot about it I have no idea how that happened. Yeah Supergiant (I always have to double check that in case I write Supermassive) always hits, every single one of their games is gold, Hades II continues that trend. It might still be Early Access but it quite comfortably surpasses release Hades I in content so I am incredibly excited to see how it grows.
Movies
Number 1 at my list is Godzilla Minus One, it's so good, I watched it last year, I watched it this year I'll probably watch it again in the Minus Colour version. I'm a Godzilla mark (I still have at least some objectivity Godzilla x Kong sitting at 12 hasn't even broken into my top 10, wait Oppenheimer isn't on here probably 13 then) and while I've definitely not even nearly seen of all Godzilla's filmography I think this is him comfortably at his best. As in all of his best films as a metaphor as well as a giant radioactive dinosaur.
I watched Rashomon the other day and it feels like a real basic thing to say but yeah Rashomon's really good, as with Catch-22 it's a classic for a reason. Not good enough to surpass a radioactive dinosaur apparently but what can?
And my number three on my list, Asteroid City, great framing device, great set design. Just a genuinely fascinating movie, had complete hold of my interest at all times.
The rest of my top ten in order The Banshees of Inisherin, Monster, Speed, The Menu, Happy Death Day, Scream, Scream 2 (Maybe Happy Death Day should be lower than the Screams actually) Oppenheimer is probably going to land somewhere in that top 10 as well.
TV
Delicious in Dungeon is good, everyone knows Delicious in Dungeon is good, everyone's watching it. World building, funny, great cast its all there, I should read the manga some time. I should definitely read more manga in general.
I've also watched The 8 Show, a Korean Drama show. Eight strangers are offered a chance to participate in a psuedo game show where they live on eight seperate floors and are paid money for the length of time the show goes on. The ones living on the lower floors earn less money and the ones on the higher ones earn more. (Shockingly it's a metaphor for capitalism). Things fairly rapidly degenerate. You'll obviously think of Squid Game watching this and its not as good as Squid Game but its still pretty good.
And obvs you know I'm still on that Buffy watch, on the cusp of finishing Series 6 of Buffy, the most frustrating so far in that it has some good ideas dragged down by a number of terrible decisions; magic becoming a metaphor for drugs, having to see those three nerds on screen frequently, that death etc etc.
Oh yeah I'm watching the Acolyte, I'm not gonna say its great but like its shockingly decent. Falls far short of Andor but aside from that its probably one of the best Star Wars shows they've made. If you like Star Wars this is one of the better shows to check out.
(Somehow I forgot I watched all of Hacks this year!?!?!?!) Great stuff, love those two. Hope they continue to be weird about each other forever.
Other
I'd love to rec a manga but I cantinue to only read two manga which are Hajime no Ippo and Jojo and they're both over 30 years old and still going and I cannot recommend something that long. Last time I mentioned Ippo was like at least six months ago I think I said it was slowly moving towards a conclusion it has moved no closer to a conclusion since then I think it's gonna be another decade. I still love it my favourite character is probably going to have his character arc finished by the end of the current arc, Mashiba's is going to become world champion, he is going to be respected rather than just feared, he's going to have friends, he is going to defeat the personification of the dirty boxing style that carried him through most of his career and he's going to stop being so overprotective over his sister. Either that or he'll get injured and have to retire from boxing forever in a karmic callback to his original sin in boxing when he broke Miyata's foot like thirtyodd years ago. Hopefully the first one.

The Painted Realms of Aether-Kyo
A Myth-Song of Ink, Flame, and Dream
I. The Paper Sky
Where ink meets silence, still and vast, A world is drawn, both first and last. Aether-Kyo—the realm between, Not quite a dream, nor quite unseen.
It lives in scrolls and ancient books, In manga folds and wistful looks, In nihonga, with graceful stroke, Where foxes dance and dragons woke.
There, dawn is brushed in crimson glaze, And stars descend in drifting haze; The clouds are stitched from calligraphic sighs, The sun is gold leaf in the skies.
II. The Creator's Grief
Long ago, before the screens, When tales were told in inked ravines, The First Mangaka, old and wise, Grew weary of our earthly skies.
He dipped his brush in sacred spring, And drew a girl with raven wing, A blade of starlight at her side— She breathed, she moved, she lived, she cried.
But stories twist like serpent spines, And fate was bound in paper lines. He lost her to his own creation, Trapped in folds of inked damnation.
So came the curse: what I imagine, Shall outlive me and know no haven.
III. Enter the Warrior-Muse
Yume no Hana, “Dream of Flowers,” Woke beneath the moonlight towers. She was a girl of brush and steel, Born to strike but taught to feel.
Her eyes held storms, her steps held grace, A thousand stories in her face. Her scarf was painted cherry bloom, That whispered softly of her doom.
She bore a mission she forgot— A name, a war, a master’s plot. But always near, she felt a string, A song the wind was echoing.
IV. The Painted Beasts
In valleys where the colors bled, The oni roamed, the yōkai fed. By dragon-bone and spectral tree, Their roars were old as poetry.
A crane of jade, with wings unfurled, Could lift and fold an entire world. A centipede with mirror eyes Reflected every hero’s lies.
Yume fought on with burning breath, Each line she crossed a dance with death. Each battle sketched in crimson arcs— The page alive with blazing sparks.
V. The Cyber-Samurai
From future realms of pixel dawn, Where steel and memory are drawn, Came Koji—marked with glowing seams, A manga child of shattered dreams.
A ronin born from neon strife, He wandered through dimensioned life. He saw in Yume something strange, A rhythm neither could arrange.
Their blades once clashed, then harmonized, Two stories that had synchronized. In Aether-Kyo, their fates entwined— A poem lost in space and time.
VI. Nihonga Heir
In temples high where ink won’t fade, A priestess knelt with brush and blade. She bore the last nihonga scroll, Its paper spun with heaven’s soul.
She warned them both of ending tides, Where manga's god no longer hides. "The Mangaka's grief bleeds through each tale— The realms unravel, thin and pale."
"If brush forgets its sacred trust, Then all returns to ash and dust. But if you walk the final page, You might unchain the artist’s cage."
VII. The Celestial Battle
And so they climbed the Paper Spire, Through burning ink and phantom fire. Past panels torn by chaos wraiths, Past ghosts of incomplete fates.
At top, the Mangaka appeared— Not god, but man, with soul seared. He wept as Yume held her blade, "No tale survives that I have made."
But Koji said, “Then make anew, Not from your pain—but what is true.” Together, they unrolled the scroll, And wrote the world into one whole.
VIII. The Rebirth
Now Aether-Kyo, once cracked and torn, Blooms freshly inked each lunar morn. Where anime and spirits blend, Where pages loop and never end.
Yume and Koji, side by side, Still walk the winds, with stars as guide. And in the east, the rising light Glows nihonga, soft and bright.
So child who reads beneath the sheet, With glowing screen and skipping beat— Know this, in every panel line, There sleeps a myth, old and divine.
IX. Epilogue: The Reader’s Oath
To every fan with dreaming heart, Who tears through chapters, part by part— Remember: fantasy is thread, That binds the living and the dead.
The ink you spill, the dreams you trace, Are whispers from a higher place. In manga’s eye, you’re never lost— You are both reader and the ghost.
So turn the page with reverent hand— You walk through more than storyland. Each anime is breath and flame— A shrine, a war, a sacred name.

The Antithesis of Fire
It was high summer when the lightning became weird Cold and dark, it set the ground on something that was not ablaze It settled on the dust and ash and woodchips And made new logs and wooden shapes that were fantastical and wild Not the original logs mind you Just one of the uncounted dendrite forms that could have made that pile of ash In some universe or nother
At first everyone was thrilled No energy crisis No climate change No oil wars And we’re still pretty happy, honestly, but also worried The not-fire spreads, you see The cold of it makes more cold and colder still As it builds sand back into rocks. If lightning strikes a forest or a wheat field, there’s not much more to say A few things are a little odd Newer, younger, stranger, but otherwise unchanged Nothing more than that
But if it strikes a blasted place, A mine, a parking lot, a war zone Well, let’s just say it has a lot of fuel It gets cold, colder than cold The opposite of heat and it builds Fractal crystals, mighty monoliths, strange blue landscapes filled with prism spires Blowing in a calculated wind Something is alive in there Web legged centipedes with gemstone wings Skitter at the corner of your eye And spiralled wolves of alabaster sing like steel Just behind the hill
With enough fuel Perhaps the atmosphere will be set unlight And unburn this whole damn world into god And so we meet the coldness of new lightning With our napalm and our fire And so again I sit in this old watchtower I search the rubble for a hint azure darkness And I listen for the sound of making glass

Personal room ranking:
1 - Subterranean: L01 2 - Metropolis: splitpath 3 - Metropolis: highestpoint 4 - Metropolis: longori 5 - Windswept Spires: C09 6 - Outskirts: A35 7 - Glacial Wasteland: B09 8 - Looks to the Moon: WALL04 9 - Desolate Fields: E03 10 - Arena Subterranean: Submerged
Extra comment: I don't even have to explain justify this, do I? The best options here are obviously L01, and the Metropolis rooms, and I'm fairly certain that I've already rambled extensively about all of these (and if I haven't, my other takes on some other rooms should offer more than enough insight into why I love these so much).
And the other ones are….. well, fine-ish? They all have their good aspects, but they're certainly not perfect, by any stretch of the imagination. But the only one that has actually made it through is WALL04, which I can accept. It's not a particularly interesting design, but from the ones below the top 4, it is certainly the most memorable one (if we discard all the times E03's toll has screwed me over, thanks to dumb inconsistent Scavenger AI). It's your first look into Moon's Wall, and it does leave a great impression.
Anyway, this one has a Glacial Wasteland room (…that didn't really get votes, despite it being a solid lead-up and/or exit from Undergrowth, thanks to its colors and visuals), which allows me to cover my final bonus room, which is…..
Tumblr media
D02! Welp, that's certainly not the biggest high note to end on, but it could have been way worse. On most campaigns, this room acts as a little swimming section with Leeches and Snails, as an obvious tie-in to Drainage System, the region that is extremely close by. It never really attempted to do anything overly special (outside of having an unlockable with a stupidly annoying placement), but it never needed to. Now, as for the Saint, it changes shockingly little, despite it being in the area near Undergrowth, which has had the most drastic changes out of all the areas in Glacial Wasteland. It just…. has a bunch of Spiders, which is honestly a rather bizarre choice. I suppose I shouldn't complain, since it would be a lot harder to avoid multiple Strawberry Lizards, Dropwigs or Large Centipedes, especially in such a tight room. But I just feel like Downpour has sort of overused Spiders. Rarity can make creatures a lot scarier, but because Spiders were put into a lot of seemingly random rooms (like this one), they kind of lost a large chunk of the fright factor that they had pre Downpour.
Again, I wouldn't put the blame on this specific room, and I get why the spawns were placed there, but I feel like they weren't really necessary. You already have multiple Large Centipedes (one of which is a Red) and a Spitter Spider nearby, it's okay to make this place a little more peaceful! But because it still works decently, I'll hand it a 7/10 (moreso on the lower end). After all, it did remove the Snails, and they've technically killed my Saint more than Wolf Spiders did, so the Downpour devs actually kind of did us a favor here.
Last thing to note, before I go - I did say that this is the final bonus room, but I'm still open to requests and questions, of course. Just be aware that if you hand me a large list, I'll definitely be taking my sweet time when it comes to covering it, just as I did with this one xd It was fun though, and I genuinely appreciated it! I just hope it's not a problem that I sort of trashed on some of the rooms that were on it. (But y'know, if a certain alcoholic cat has shown us anything, it's that compliments do hit better if one only gives them out when they're actually earned. And yes, I did watch Georgia Dow :3 )

Spire of the Centipede 1
The Maze is dotted with a number of trial dungeons, the final test of a warrior society now lost to the mists of time.  They took the defense of their greatest magical arts and weapons very seriously, and considered each of the sites within the maze to be a separate high-security vault to test the wit and might of those who would follow in their footsteps.  Where they all went, none know; rumor has it some unnamed crime brought the judgement of their god or gods down upon them.  The Spire is simply one such facility.

Congratulations are in order, for I have finally bested the big flying ice centipede in the Wind Temple. It took me ages to work up the nerve to go back there after it kicked my ass so hard on like my second day playing the game, and what made the difference was the Dusk Bow, which if you don’t know about it is really neat but somewhat inconvenient to get because it requires lots of stamina, whether from food or increasing your wheel by solving shrines.
If you fire yourself out the top of the Lookout Landing tower and glide over to the floating castle (this is where the stamina goes), then land on the tallest pointy spire (the bell tower), you can find the Dusk Bow wedged into a crack in the spire. I do not know how it got there, but there it is and you can take it. It’s got 30 attack power which is nothing to sniff at, and it “forcefully fires long-range arrows,” so this is sort of TOTK’s equivalent of that Golden Bow you could pick up in Gerudo Town.
If you then clamber down into the bell tower, you can use Ultrahand to grab the big bell and push it back and forth (I did this just because I wanted to see if it would ring) and it will indeed ring and reveal a Korok, so that’s nice.
If you then parachute down through the middle of the tower to the throne room/Sanctum, you can find some Royal Guard weapons on the ledges at the sides of the room - look for a big broken statue of a horse and you can find a bundle of ten arrows near its head, then round behind the base of the statue a bow and a couple of swords. Then go round to the other side of the room at the same level and you can find a matching shield and spear.
They’re just lying in the open which means they respawn with the Blood Moon and you can go and collect them each time (same goes for the Dusk Bow). They all have good attack power (the bow is 50!) and you can reach all of them without having to encounter any monsters. If you didn’t know about that, now you do.
Oh! And if you want Endura Carrots for stamina meals, Satori Mountain is still the best place to go. There are three, I think, growing at the base of the pink blossom tree next to the pool near the top. A little bit further down the mountain, near the location of the old shrine from BOTW, there’s a ledge where two Blue Moblins hang out. You can either fight them and take their horns for reinforcing weapons, or wait for night-time when they go to sleep, then just go down there and sneak around in a stealthy crouch pulling up more carrots. I think like five or six grow there reliably.
These are my little routines that I like to do after each Blood Moon. I also like to go to the apple orchard on Satori (and the new shrine is conveniently right next to it) because you can get a whole lot of wood and apples that are easy to sell for pocket money, but it’s not the jolly explosive fun it was in the olden days when we had magic blue bombs. I miss those so much. You have to use up a couple of axes just to fell all the trees and there are two or three Evermeans that you have to chop plus a little bitch of an Octorok to find. I suppose I could climb all the trees and pick all the apples but oh God how tedious.
Anyone knowing of a quick’n’easy method for harvesting the Satori orchard in TOTK is encouraged to let me know.

Wolqyyis is the Lesser God of Ascension and Sought Power.
Born as a mortal human, Wolqyyis sought to become something more and to extend outside the confines of human potential. Wolqyyis secured his place as his kingdom’s sort of court wizard, and used the position to levy all the supplies and research he needed to work his way to ascension. His research lead him into deep exploration of Nymauti Names and their role in the demon’s power, and eventually Wolqyyis did the unheard of - he created himself a Name.
Wolqyyis now exists as a large centipede-like monster that, by most technical senses, could be classified as a Nymauti demon. While now a lesser god, Wolqyyis is unable to leave the mountain in which he lives, bound to it by both errors of calculation and by his hidden human body that serves as a sort of binding to his demonic form. He serves as both divine and as the tyrant of the nation of Lányc Grala - a now considerably ancient country on the western tropical seaboard of the Cryngasth continent.
Those seeking Wolqyyis - be it for religious purposes, political purposes, or other - can find him in the Ascendant’s Spire - a lush jungle-covered mountain that serves as his home. While his cavern must be accessed closer to the top, a majority of the capitol city lies below. Wolqyyis is a peculiar deity and ruler, interested in himself and his goals almost exclusively. He seeks to further delve into the extent of Nymauti Names and find a way to rectify the errors he made with his own, as well as potentially free Nymauti from the threat of being Taken - or summoned through use of their name.
For all his selfishness and flaws, Wolqyyis is known for honoring his deals and agreements.

Green Ranger:
Name: Kris Miller (Formerly Kristine Miller)
Age: 17
Gender: Non-Binary (They/Them) [Bio Fem]
Height: 4’10
Nationality: American (Oregan)
General Appearance: Short petite body with fair skin and short brown hair. Usually wears a green puffer jacket that’s too big for them and black skirt shorts.
Personality: An intellectual at their core, Kris originally stayed with the Mythic Rangers out of curiosity for how the Rangers and MaliBeasts work, as well as the nature of the more spiritual aspects of their world such as the two realms. This desire for knowledge has caused Kris to frequently express excitement at the idea of understanding even the simpler things, like a MaliBeast’s attack.
In casual scenarios, Kris displays a naturally occurring sarcastic wit, not resisting to make a crack at even their own friends if said friends make a mistake. Despite this, those close to them know that they don’t make these jokes out of malice.
However, Kris often finds it difficult to make new friends, seeing new people as incredibly threatening and often avoiding them at all costs. Needless to say, this made them very distrusting of the Rangers they didn’t know previously.
After the battle with Prince Lunaron during the Season 1 finale, Kris began to feel entirely unconfident in their ability to battle, to the point of hoping to make someone else the Green Ranger. Eventually, with the help of their new friends, they manage to learn to feel confident in what they bring to the table as opposed to writing themselves off for being the weakest in combat.
Abilities:
Typical Ranger Skill and Enhanced Physical Capabilities
Forest Spirit Staff: A staff that allows Kris to channel the element of Nature.
Vine Lock: Several vines sprout out of the ground in order to wrap around and restrict opponents.
Misty Leaf: A conjured leaf generates a faint and pleasant mist that can help recover the stamina of other Rangers.
Wooden Shield: A conjured shield formed to protect fellow Rangers.
Bamboo Spire: Several sprouts of bamboo shoot out of the ground in order to pummel the enemy.
Thorn Blade Batter: Massive throned roots sprout from the ground and hunt the enemy.
Zords:
Leshy Cryptizord: Their primary Zord throughout the entire story. In addition to plant manipulation and camouflage, it forms the left leg of the Myth Master Megazord.
Bunyip Cryptizord: An Auxiliary Zord acquired midway through Season 1. This Zord changes into a Blade for the Myth Master Megazord to use, changing it to the Swamp Saber Megazord.
Omukade Cryptizord: A Zord acquired around the beginning of Season 2. A centipede-like Zord that scuttles across the ground and wraps around enemies, this Zord can combine with the Golem and Kuraokami Cryptizords to for the Myth General Megazord, useful for a double team with the Myth Master Megazord once the team unlocks the ability to sustain Megazords with fewer members.
Trivia:
Prior to becoming a Ranger, Kris was friends with Alex and Geoffrey.
Their primary hobbies prior to becoming a Ranger were coding, gaming and sewing.
Kris is aroace.

what about an adeptus reader who's under control of a cruel god and zhongli was on his way to negotiate w said god in hopes to gain an ally in the war only to walk in on the adeptus killing the god and therefore gaining the dead god's title ?
aWell this is a very intriguing one my dear Traveler~ I like this idea a lot! For some context this is right at the beginning of the Archon War so a lot hasn't happened just yet. I hope you enjoy the ride (。•̀ᴗ-)✧- Mod Kaeya

The day was grim, grim with colorless clouds allowing a colorless light to filter through the rain onto the muck spreading across the marshes from the storms that never seemed to end. The day was grim with the distant roaring of gods clashing behind him in a faraway providence that he had momentarily left to his newfound underlings to protect, the air still was eerily warm as lightning paraded through the sky like a pulsating snake. He feared for any mortals that were near the war grounds however he needed to press on in order to save them. His body ached a bone deep agony, he was panting so hard his lungs hurt as much as the tendrils of exhaustion began to eat at the edges of his vision but even still. He hoped Guizhong was dealing well with the others, war was never her strong front.
Underneath an ivory hood, Aurelian eyes shone out watching and waiting.
He wouldn’t be in this form for long as he only wanted to be able to survey the carnage around him in case he was followed but upon the spire he stood it seemed the only thing for miles were the corpses of minor deities who thought they stood a chance against the wyrm that lurked and writhed in the depths of the mountain range. The terror of the creature he sought to speak with was infamous among the gods themselves which explained the slight fear he felt nibbling at the back of his war forged mind. He didn’t have a choice really, even with all the power he had borrowed from the Adepti and Guizhong there were simply some gods he couldn’t defeat. What was concerning though was that this ever hungry beast he had come to avoid was silent for once. Morax leant down to touch his fingers to the soaked pale rock surrounding him; There was no shrieking across the rolling cliffs and hills, there was no buzzing rumbling underneath the surface of the rock.
It was quiet.
Why?
The god began to move across the mourning landscape cautiously but briskly. If something was wrong, if somehow the centipede god was dead he had little hope his little settlement would survive this turbulent war unscathed. Not immediately being greeted by the hundred eye insect was starting to cause goosebumps and hairs to raise on the back of his neck... Morax wouldn't have thought the creature to pass up a chance to fill it's mouth for even a moment.
Wugong was a god so ancient it's name became the word for the smaller, more harmless creatures that resembled it's unsightly appearance were soon called it's very name. It wasn't surprising that a hoard of the smaller insects were lurking around the ruined temple it called it's den were thrashing about violently at the entrance. A lot of them were dead. Morax’s brows furrowed at the omen, pulling his hood closer to his head and then making the trek into the tunnel carved out of the stone of the mountain. It was silent even in here it seemed. He couldn’t believe it, even as his leather boots squelched through increasingly deep pools of rouge liquid.
The coolness of the tunnel gave way to a grand hall with towering ruined marble pillars where normally the beast would be curled in upon itself over and over like a frenzied ball of vines trying to suffocate itself, perhaps even eating away at some of it’s legs to staunch the hunger while it waits for something less fortunate to pass through it’s territory. Some say Wugong had even eaten half of it’s body during a time of famine before. Instead of an esteemed divine creature starved of glutton he found shells upon shells of cobalt colored carapace with silvery meat still stringily hanging on dotted around the area, scattered around like snow and confetti as if blown apart. Slivers of flesh led him to the head of the beast before he found the source of what happened. Under the midsection of an opal colored carapace or two, half wedged into the walls and ceilings so hard they were forming cracks, the creatures heart lay in shreds somewhat akin to a bizarre flora arrangement.
And amongst it all there was a figure, just as mangled as it was covered in the gore of it’s enemy. The sound of his footstep resounding on the onyx marble floors caused a head to snap to attention followed by stumbling, desparate scrambling to get on two feet despite their shattered form. He stood still for a moment watching the slipping and sliding. Eventually, although a tad bit unsteadily they came to stand on their own.
He expected an adeptus to be fearful of what they'd done, if this immortal was they weren't showing it. Their posture was one of royalty, head held high and eyes zeroed in on him like a distrusting noble in court. Even the blood dripping down tattered clothes or exposed skin was abruptly not the signs of struggle but the crowning of a new regal force in the land he was battling for.
You were breath taking.
And absolutely a better alternative to the war hungry god he had come here to attempt to make nice with, he smiled courteously and bowed deeply in respect much to the  confusion of the injured adeptus across the room. "I'm sorry for my timing but may I request an audience with the new god under the mountain?"
There was a moment of hesitation and then a sigh of relief, "...I-I suppose so yes."
