I just stopped liking posts altogether tbh
this is assuming its on art you normally wouldn't jump to reblog. i myself only rb stuff i really really like so .
The 'rude/demanding' tone would be stuff along the lines of "if you like but don't reblog I'll [threat]" which i see surprisingly often, both serious and more silly

hi so a lil update. for those of you who don't know my whole thing is reading the oxford dictionary. like I'm not just picking random words on the internet, I actually plan to finish OED. I started last spring and I'm almost done with letter H (still haven't made the posts but I have the words saved in a document). it's going a bit slower that I wanted because I'm still in school but I want to finish it by the end of the year
there's also the problem with me not having an OED subscription which means that I can't see longer definitions. like the website only let's you see the beginning which sucks because I have a document full of definitions I need to complete. my plan is to wait until summer when I'll have more free time to pay for a subscription and search all those words. there's no way I'm paying for more than a couple of months I just can't afford that right now. because of it I'll probably start posting words starting with A again which is ruining the whole vibe of the blog but oh well what can you do
also when I'm done like DONE with everything I want to start making lists with words in different categories (like words that appeared in the 90s, love-related words, words starting with letter whatever, you get the idea). and maybe post some writing tips and resources as well in the meantime
I'm debating whether I should make a Patreon or make a blog with WordPress and earn money through ads. like on one hand I don't really like ads but on the other I know what it's like to be a young writer and rely on free resources posted by other writers and I don't want to put my stuff on Patreon and demand payment for other people to be able to read it, but I have over 3,5k followers and I had a link to my ko-fi for months in my bio and I haven't seen one dollar so relying on donations is out of the question
I spent over a hundred hours on this project and who knows how much longer it's gonna take me to finish it and I feel like I deserve to earn something after all this work. and also I need money. so yeah. tell me in the comments what you think
edit: I think I'm gonna go with the second idea and make a blog with WordPress or some other platform

Ok I am getting asked several times a day about this so I am going to break this down into steps and then pin this post.
How I Got a Job as a Travel Writer (aka the ten steps I took that eventually got me hired in the writing world)
I started writing unpaid for a magazine when I was in high school. I got a leg up because I knew someone whose parent knew the editor of an indie mag and gave me an email address. Unless you are lucky enough to find a connection like that, I suggest reaching out to indie mags and local publications to see if anyone will let you write for them for free.
Got a college degree (cultural anthropology)
Did an unpaid marketing internship one summer in college (it was at night so I could work during the day)
Did all the copywriting and marketing for a club on campus
Graduated in spring 2020, worked a bunch of dead-end jobs
Eventually ended up unemployed and directionless, lived off the government and savings and was generally lost and unhappy.
Decided I wanted a copywriting job but couldn't get hired. Spent months and months applying, never even got an interview.
Saw that several related jobs requested experience in stuff like SEO, html, Google Analytics, and WordPress. Took free online classes to learn those things. Also picked up some copywriting gigs from Upwork on the side to make some money and beef up my portfolio.
To practice WordPress and make myself seem more professional, I started a blog that functioned as a literary journal and published submissions from other young writers.
Found an opening at a copywriting agency and wrote some SEO articles on contract. This didn't pay enough to live on, but it was fun and made my resume way more impressive.
Eventually the agency work dried up and they didn't have any assignments for me, so I went back to Indeed with my new beefed up resume. I saw a job for travel writing and applied. I got hired.

Full text of article as follows:
Tumblr and Wordpress are preparing to sell user data to Midjourney and OpenAI, according to a source with internal knowledge about the deals and internal documentation referring to the deals.
The exact types of data from each platform going to each company are not spelled out in documentation we’ve reviewed, but internal communications reviewed by 404 Media make clear that deals between Automattic, the platforms’ parent company, and OpenAI and Midjourney are imminent.
The internal documentation details a messy and controversial process within Tumblr itself. One internal post made by Cyle Gage, a product manager at Tumblr, states that a query made to prepare data for OpenAI and Midjourney compiled a huge number of user posts that it wasn’t supposed to. It is not clear from Gage’s post whether this data has already been sent to OpenAI and Midjourney, or whether Gage was detailing a process for scrubbing the data before it was to be sent.
Gage wrote:
“the way the data was queried for the initial data dump to Midjourney/OpenAI means we compiled a list of all tumblr’s public post content between 2014 and 2023, but also unfortunately it included, and should not have included:
private posts on public blogs
posts on deleted or suspended blogs
unanswered asks (normally these are not public until they’re answered)
private answers (these only show up to the receiver and are not public)
posts that are marked ‘explicit’ / NSFW / ‘mature’ by our more modern standards (this may not be a big deal, I don’t know)
content from premium partner blogs (special brand blogs like Apple’s former music blog, for example, who spent money with us on an ad campaign) that may have creative that doesn’t belong to us, and we don’t have the rights to share with this-parties; this one is kinda unknown to me, what deals are in place historically and what they should prevent us from doing.”
Gage’s post makes clear that engineers are working on compiling a list of post IDs that should not have been included, and that password-protected posts, DMs, and media flagged as CSAM and other community guidelines violations were not included.
Automattic plans to launch a new setting on Wednesday that will allow users to opt-out of data sharing with third parties, including AI companies, according to the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, and internal documents. A new FAQ section we reviewed is titled “What happens when you opt out?” states that “If you opt out from the start, we will block crawlers from accessing your content by adding your site on a disallowed list. If you change your mind later, we also plan to update any partners about people who newly opt-out and ask that their content be removed from past sources and future training.”
404 Media has asked Automattic how it accidentally compiled data that it shouldn’t share, and whether any of that content was shared with OpenAI. 404 Media asked Automattic about an imminent deal with Midjourney last week but did not hear back then, either. Instead of answering direct questions about these deals and the compiling of user data, Automattic sent a statement, which it posted publicly after this story was published, titled "Protecting User Choice." In it, Automattic promises that it's blocked AI crawlers from scraping its sites. The statement says, "We are also working directly with select AI companies as long as their plans align with what our community cares about: attribution, opt-outs, and control. Our partnerships will respect all opt-out settings. We also plan to take that a step further and regularly update any partners about people who newly opt out and ask that their content be removed from past sources and future training."
Another internal document shows that, on February 23, an employee asked in a staff-only thread, “Do we have assurances that if a user opts out of their data being shared with third parties that our existing data partners will be notified of such a change and remove their data?”
Andrew Spittle, Automattic’s head of AI replied: “We will notify existing partners on a regular basis about anyone who's opted out since the last time we provided a list. I want this to be an ongoing process where we regularly advocate for past content to be excluded based on current preferences. We will ask that content be deleted and removed from any future training runs. I believepartners will honor this based on our conversations with them to this point. I don't think they gain much overall by retaining it.” Automattic did not respond to a question from 404 Media about whether it could guarantee that people who opt out will have their data deleted retroactively.
News about a deal between Tumblr and Midjourney has been rumored and speculated about on Tumblr for the last week. Someone claiming to be a former Tumblr employee announced in a Tumblr blog post that the platform was working on a deal with Midjourney, and the rumor made it onto Blind, an app for verified employees of companies to anonymously discuss their jobs. 404 Media has seen the Blind posts, in which what seems like an Automattic employee says, “I'm not sure why some of you are getting worked up or worried about this. It's totally legal, and sharing it publicly is perfectly fine since it's right there in the terms & conditions. So, go ahead and spread the word as much as you can with your friends and tech journalists, it's totally fine.”
Separately, 404 Media viewed a public, now-deleted post by Gage, the product manager, where he said that he was deleting all of his images off of Tumblr, and would be putting them on his personal website. A still-live postsays, “i've deleted my photography from tumblr and will be moving it slowly but surely over to cylegage.com, which i'm building into a photography portfolio that i can control end-to-end.” At one point last week, his personal website had a specific note stating that he did not consent to AI scraping of his images. Gage’s original post has been deleted, and his website is now a blank page that just reads “Cyle.” Gage did not respond to a request for comment from 404 Media.
Several online platforms have made similar deals with AI companies recently, including Reddit, which entered into an AI content licensing deal with Google and said in its SEC filing last week that it’s “in the early stages of monetizing [its] user base” by training AI on users’ posts. Last year, Shutterstock signed a six year deal with OpenAI to provide training data.
OpenAI and Midjourney did not respond to requests for comment.
Updated 4:05 p.m. EST with a statement from Automattic.

Does anybody have advice/experience/anecdotes about starting a semi-professional blog or personal website?
I have outlines/plans mainly to share media reviews and criticism, maybe some original creative work (poetry, etc.) - and I've looked at my options. I already built a Google site but there are serious limitations there and I don't want to have to get into coding to solve them. Everyone seems to recommend wordpress but I don't know if I need all those bells and whistles.
I mainly want to: write, allow comments, keep track of analytics, and mayyyybe make a little money (but I could always redirect people to Patreon, I suppose).
I don't know why I'm turned off by wordpress. Maybe I'm just being contrarian.
Medium sites always look embarrassing to me...
I do feel kinda silly that I have a substantial audience here. I could just... start posting longer posts. But when I do, they don't seem to get much engagement, so. Plus, I definitely don't want to redirect new audiences to this blog I've been running since I was 14(?).
Part of me wants to stick with the Google site and shrug off the no comments thing - because it's so easy to use and I can easily stitch in new pages/sites as needed. (And I have plans... schemes, even...) But if wordpress really is the best option for engagement, I guess I could get over myself.
Ugh. Idk. Thoughts???

Update on balaramerchela
So, I had to disable comments on the latest story on my Wordpress blog, balaramerchela.
Basically, even though I explicitly said that this is a multi-chapter story of eight chapters of varying lengths and that I will be publishing one chapter every Friday, the not-so-gentle readers are not happy. They complain that I don't publish often enough. They complain that the chapters are not long enough.
I've explained myself repeatedly that I am an adult with a full-time job and family, pets and friends. I do not make money from these stories. My stories are original works and take a lot of time to write, edit and proofread. No machine learning and AI are involved. I cannot keep churning new ones out week after week. So my only option was to stagger them out one chapter at a time. This also gave me time to edit them in between my job and travels. I would love to have the whole story up in one go (like I used to back in the day during the pandemic) but then I cannot cope with the amount of nasty comments I get about not publishing a new story immediately afterwards. I’m sorry that the readers think that it’s unfair but I think it’s unfair that I write novel-length stories but only receive comments expressing disappointment from my readers. I’ve been writing since 2009 and in 2014, two of my friends, who are also my proofreaders, urged me to start this blog. Things were going well for the past 10 years but now this blog and my readers’ expectations have become too much for me to handle, in addition to my full-time job and personal life. I did a LOT of writing in 2020-2021. I’m talking full-length stories every Friday because I was under lockdown at home with nothing better to do. Once I went back to the office full-time, I explained that I wouldn’t be able to keep delivering stories like I used to and my readers were very understanding. But something changed this year. The hateful messages and comments have become unmanageable for me. This blog is an enjoyable, but a very small part of my life. I cannot let it take up so much emotional bandwidth. I’m happy to finish publishing the stories I have but after that I will probably archive balaramerchela. I will obviously keep writing, but I will no longer publish my stories. My two best friends might continue to proofread them and I might narrate them to my sibling, but that’s about it. The cons of sharing my stories with the world outweigh the pros. I’m sure there are other, much more talented authors on Wattpad, Tumblr and AO3 who will be able to fill the void. Thank you for reading and supporting me for the past 10 years!

This blog should probably be on WordPress, and I should probably begin it on desktop because mobile app customization is limited and the stock tumblr page is unprofessional, but sometimes you just have to start, even if it's not perfect or you're not fully ready. I already spend most of my social media time on tumblr, so while I'm here that's less of an excuse to put off contributing to this, unlike my custom anthropology site...
I've been fascinated with fiber arts and the history of textiles for a very long time. My first weaving project was a small shoulder bag around a piece of cardboard for an Arts & Crafts class in high school. I still have it, hanging on my wall. It's always been in the back of my mind to pick it up again. Every so often I would think, "A loom would fit perfectly in that corner of my room," but then I'd think of the cost and labor and wave it off as fantasy.
Then my mom lied about having covid19, and I ended up exhausted and bed-bound for months. A year to the day later and I am still not better. I guess this is my life now =/ Out of any "reasonable" workforce, I finally have an excuse to seriously pursue crafts. There are too many issues to get into why arts and crafting rarely make a decent living, but maybe I can make enough to survive.
This adventure actually began with the desire to create unique fabric accessories. But how would mine stand out from the crowd? I could handweave the fabric. The cheapest loom is a backstrap, but it's also physically intensive to counterbalance the warp with your own body. Floor looms are too expensive. A rigid heddle would make the right size for what I need, but
But shaft envy.
I visited a local weaving guild, borrowed their rigid heddle, and got to work playing.
Still, I tried for two months to purchase a small RH loom off of FB Marketplace, but the seller always cancelled. I tried ebay. Now, ebay wants to be helpful in separating you from your hard-earned money, so it will shove related searches right in your face. So many different looms. A pretty table loom for the same price as a new rigid heddle, and then a sixty year-old floor loom for only fifty bucks more (plus the gas to drive to get it). I thought on it for almost a week, made sure I had transportation, and contacted the seller. 21 hours of driving and loading, a taco break, and more driving, and I had a new-to-me Fanny I counterbalance floor loom by leClerc, with a ton of bells and whistles.
Instead of putting it in my room, with only one North-facing window, I cleaned the basement and put it in a corner with South and Western windows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ain't she a beaut?
Putting it together was fun. The instruction manual came with it, so set-up was a breeze. I've spent the past few days reading it ("Warp and Weave" by Robert LeClerc), marveling at the craftsmanship, reinforcing concepts similar to rigid heddle style, and taking interest in their differences.
I'll start off by just doing a warp from beam to beam so I can have a foot or so in the front to play with and learn how she operates. I'm thinking basic 1-2-3-4 for twill, which will still allow for a plain weave combo for comparison with the lap loom.

When it comes to learning Digital Advertising, you have two main options: online or offline (classroom-based) courses. Both have their own benefits, and the choice depends on your personal preference, learning style, and schedule.
Online Courses
Online courses are perfect if you want to learn at your own pace. You can study from anywhere — whether you're at home, at work, or even traveling. These courses usually include video lessons, quizzes, and downloadable materials. Many platforms also offer lifetime access,
so you can revisit the lessons anytime. Online courses are generally more affordable, and some are even free.
Best For:
Working professionals
College students
People with busy schedules
Those who prefer learning independently
Offline Courses
Offline or classroom-based courses are great if you prefer face-to-face learning and personal guidance. These classes often provide real-time help from trainers, live projects, and team activities. You also get more opportunities to ask questions, network with other students, and practice your skills hands-on.
Best For:
Beginners who need step-by-step guidance
Students who want personal mentorship
People who find online learning difficult
Those who want to build confidence with group interaction
Tip:
If you want the flexibility of online learning but still want some personal support, look for hybrid courses. These offer online classes with regular live sessions, Q&A calls, and assignments — combining the best of both worlds.
Career Options After a Digital Marketing Course
After your course, you can work in roles like:
SEO Executive
Social Media Manager
Google Ads Expert

Tumblr media
Sul sul! Welcome to my tiny corner of Simblr, thank you for stopping by my blog c: My name is Tiger (or Rain, either is fine) and I've been playing the Sims for a long time. I created Rain Must Fall as my attempt at the Super Sim & 100% completion challenge - that is, to complete EVERYTHING this game has to offer.
In doing so, I started a couple other saves (Project Pisces & DovahSims) because I didn't think those achievements could be completed in my main save (or they would be a pain to do lol) There's also loads of challenges and scenarios I want to complete, and short stories I want to write.
Originally, I was posting on my WordPress of the same name. No one read my stuff but that was fine - I was posting it as an archive for myself. However, WordPress has a media limit (unless you pay to upgrade) and I found myself quickly maxing it out. I wasn't sure where else to go, so I came to tumblr! I hope you enjoy my sims and their silly little lives ♡
To block all of my non-sims posts, you can block the tag #Not sims. Also, I cuss like a sailor lol My asks are always open but please don't send me asks for money. I will assume you're a bot because you didn't bother to read this before messaging me and you will be blocked.
I wanted to make a new info post because the old one was before I came here to simblr (it was from my wordpress) c:

Why Digital Marketing is a Game-Changer in 2025 — And How We Can Help
Tumblr media
Let’s be real — if you’re not doing digital marketing in 2025, you’re pretty much invisible online. Whether you're running a local cafe, launching a new SaaS tool, or offering freelance services from your laptop, digital marketing has become the secret sauce to scaling your reach, engaging your audience, and driving actual results.
But wait — hasn't digital marketing been around for ages? Yep. But the way it works in 2025 is on a whole new level. And trust me, if you’re not paying attention now, you’ll be playing catch-up later.
So grab your chai or coffee ☕, because we’re diving deep into how digital marketing is changing the game this year — and how we at Digital Growth Byte by DR Digitalzest can help you crush it.
🚀 What Makes Digital Marketing So Powerful in 2025?
1. People Are Online More Than Ever
Let’s face it, we all live on our phones. From scrolling Instagram Reels to Googling the best pizza in town, your target audience is just a few taps away from discovering your brand — if you know how to reach them.
Stats don’t lie: Over 5.3 billion people use the internet globally, and digital ad spend in 2025 has skyrocketed. Why? Because online is where the money is.
2. AI and Automation Are Making It Smarter
Gone are the days of guessing what works. Now you’ve got AI tools that can:
Predict what your customers want
Personalize your website content in real-time
Automate emails, ads, and even SEO
In short? Digital marketing in 2025 is no longer just about effort — it's about smart effort.
3. SEO Is Still King (But It’s Smarter Now)
Google’s algorithm is savvier than ever. It rewards:
Helpful content
Fast-loading websites
Authentic backlinks
Great user experience (UX)
This means if your website looks shady, loads slowly, or offers zero value, you're basically ghosted by Google. On the flip side, if you’re investing in good SEO practices, you're winning — and we can help you with exactly that.
4. Content Marketing = Trust + Sales
People no longer trust direct ads alone. They want value. Blogs, YouTube videos, Insta carousels, case studies — these build trust and drive organic sales.
2025 content marketing is all about:
Telling stories
Solving problems
Creating relatability
Building authority
And guess what? You don’t need a fancy agency to get started — you just need the right roadmap.
5. Digital Ads Are More Affordable Than Traditional Marketing
Newspaper ads, TV spots, radio jingles — they cost a bomb and have limited targeting.
In contrast, a Facebook ad campaign with ₹500 can reach thousands of people who are already interested in what you offer. And that’s the magic of performance marketing in 2025.
😎 Real Talk: What This Means for Your Business
Whether you're a startup, coach, service provider, or a solo hustler — digital marketing can:
Put you on the map (literally)
Drive qualified traffic to your site
Generate leads that convert
Establish your online authority
Still not convinced?
👉 Here’s a detailed look at the core benefits of digital marketing in 2025 — backed by real stats and insights that prove why going digital is no longer optional, it's survival.

If you're not on YouTube in 2025, you're missing massive traffic. We assist with:

The tools are here. The audience is online. The opportunities are endless. All you need is the right guide to help you navigate it smartly, strategically, and profitably.
We’re here to help you do just that. Let’s take your brand where it deserves to be — on top.
