Quick thought on the lords in black, are they a commentary on the internet, beings created in a space of black (the screens of our phone) and white (the light that reflects back)? They represent the worst thats come from it- how quickly we are enflamed to rage (wiggly), consuming the fake pageantry (nibbly), watching us destroy ourselves and each other (blinky), keeping record of all the mistakes we’ve made in the past with no redemption (tinky), and getting locked into a singular opinion, or voice (pokey).
Then with Webby, she is the best to come of the internet, which is that it connects us all. She can’t save the citizens of hatchetfield because ultimately the existence of the lords and how they interact in hatchetfield is up to the them. The lords exist because they summon them and until they can find a way to take away their power, they’re doomed to keep repeating their mistakes.
Sidenote: i kind of hope the hatchetfield saga ends in an Into the Woods style musical, where they’ve pulled characters from all these different timelines. So we get the original Paul (who was pulled after pokeys reign and has his mind mostly back except he sings all the time now), stoner emma (or linda for that matter), pete spankovski (eventually freeing ted from his box), lex (and grace chasity as a villain), becky or ms. Holloway, green peace girl (and melissa for a joke), and general mcnamara (who’s the only one who knows whats going on). Et al really

Daredevil #266, Writer Ann Nocenti
I love this scene. Matt's really been through the wringer at this point (he nearly died, Karen left him, Mephisto fucked shit up) and, once again, the citizens of Hell's Kitchen come in to help pick him up when he's down.
I loved Nocenti's consistency in showing that Hell's Kitchen cared about Matt just as much as Matt cared about them. I've always found it so unnecessary when writers want to go out of their way to make it seem like Hell's Kitchen doesn't like Daredevil or what he does, especially when he's been around as long as he has.

Deeply peeved that Shadowhunters never took their openning to
a) have Alec pretend to be a warock and rocks heels and Magnus' wardrobe or
b) have Alec weild a claymore the way super tall dudes are ment too
Like there are good reasons to mess with plots and these are amoung them!

Daggerheart monkey boy
So despite having no one to play it with i have been reading the daggerheart open beta materials and took a crack at making a character to see how it feels. And let me say I typically prefer way more crunchier systems like 5e and Pathfinder and Star wars (All more or less the same system which shows how boring i am), so I thought i would find it quick and boring with no real investment. And it was quick, but in a really good way???
I quickly figured out what I wanted and with the tools available to me already feel like I'm making great strides, as compared with dnd5e where it feels like you have to wait till 3rd level to get juicy. This system is just fun out of the gate.
I made a Wildborne Simiah named Sage, and he is of course based around Sun Wukong the Monkey King. I wanted him to be hard to hit and hit heard, so I went with Ranger with the Wayfinder subclass, and at level 1 his Evasiveness was 14, and when I bumped him up a level to see what that was like I got it up to sixteen. And instead of giving him a shortbow like suggested I gave him a quarterstaff for the ~~vibe~~ and don't regret it. With my high agility score and I can quickly close distance, hit losers with a 2d10+ instinct weapon, throw on a additional 1d6 with rangers focus from my class feat, and uh oh I still somehow not do enough damage? I spend stress and yesss I did. Apex Predator allows me to never hit below their minor damage threshold. Oh and guess what? With the ferocity feat and one point of hope my Evasion is temporarily increased by how much hitpoints I knocked off an opponent. Meaning I just became that little kid in play fights going 'nuh uh you cant hit me I have super power shield blah blah blah' and then proceed to whack you with my stick.
I am level 2 and feel so much closer to the Sun Wukong fantasy with a ranger than I ever did with a 5e monk. Thank you Mathew and the Daggerheart team. I have created a terror that exists only in my mind and thats whats gonna get me through work for the coming weeks. I like to think of him as only 3 feet too. If that helps.
