Before Tav and Astarion's baby is born Gale makes him a series of baby blankets that have warming runes in them so the baby doesn't get cold while Astarion's holding them. Once she's born he uses them EVERY TIME he holds her because he so badly wants her to be comfortable in his arms. One day Tav is out and the baby starts crying. She clearly wants to be held but he can't find any of the warming blankets Anywhere. She's crying louder and he's getting frustrated because he doesn't dare hold her against his cold skin. Finally, weeping in frustration he gives in. "look! I'm cold! I can't give you what you need! I'm sorry but I don't have the heat you're craving!". Then he looks down at her and sees that she's smiling and purring away (you can't tell me dhampirs don't purr). He sobs when he realizes that it wasn't warmth that she loved. She just wanted to be held by her papa. 😭
