Newtwo had sensed a familiar aura coming from a human campsite and decided to check it out. Newtwo was puzzled and horrified that another mewtwo had been created, until she got close enough and felt Okita's aura whilst she slept (facing up, in that moment).

It was her daughter. The child that was taken before birth. She wanted to get her brother to make sure she wasn't imaging it.

lim dahlia was born on the 8th of december in the year 2001, to lim jiyoung and beom sebin. her parents were fairly rich due to being being real estate developers. their lifelong dream had been to travel the world, and they had another addition to their team.

her toddler years were spent in s. korea, since her parents wanted her to make memories in the neighbourhood they had grown up in. dahlia's adventorous nature had resulted in a broken arm from climbing a tall tree in the park near their house.

they shortly moved to japan due to her father getting an offer to develop an estate in a suburb. dahlia had been only four when they had situated themselves in the country for this project. she had made friends with some children from her preschool.

a year or two had passed before they packed up everything and moved once again. the trio made a nest for themselves in the european country of the netherlands. dahlia discovered multiple dutch artist that guided her in learning the language, as well as famous singers from english speaking countries.

the rest of her child years were spent in the netherlands. her dutch had become better the more she spoke it, and her goals became clear to her one day when she saw a bagpipe player in the city. her interest in the musical instrument sky rocketed once her family went to scotland for her school holiday.

for dahlia's 11th birthday. her parents surprised her with news of them moving again. she had been feeling down after the news, since all her current friends were right there in europe. to calm her troubles, jiyoung and sebin took her to her grandmothers farm back in korea. dahlia was exploring the vast area, when she had run into a herd of cattle. the poor girl had been chased away by one of the bulls in the herd, a new fear developing from that incident.

the lim family settled in boulder, colorado. dahlia had made her parents promise that they weren't going to move for a fourth time. her wish had been fullfilled once they confirmed that this was the last time they planned to move.

the teen girl expanded on her interest in music by joining her schools music club. there she had learnt more instruments. in the year 2013, dahlia downloaded the app 'vine', where she started making relatable videos about her life.

she had gained popularity on the app a few months after downloading it. one of her videos had been looped about 5 million times and shared around the same amount of loops it had.

once the app had been shut down in 2017, dahlia tried to get into musical.ly, but didn't like it as much as she liked vine. in the latter year of 2017, dahlia went radio silent on her fans from vine and musical.ly, none of them knowing why.

no news of dahlia were heard, people hadn't even seen her in public after the sudden disappearance on her social media. even her instagram account had no updates, the number of posts staying the same, only the follower numbers increasing by the day.

in 2022, an anonymous video of a girl dancing to havana by camila cabello had been posted on every social media. the girl had a mask over most of her face, concealing her identity from the public.

people made theories on who the mysterious girl could be, but none of the claims were disclosed.

once girl from nowhere had revealed her identity on july 2024, people had mixed reactions. most fans were extatic that dahlia had come back to the music industry after being gone for so long. others were confused as to why she had showed her face now, and not earlier.

the girl went live on her instagram to address any questions. her reason for not showing her identity to the public at first was due to her concept of space and mystery. she explained that as much as people know about space, it is still a mysterious place we don't really know a lot about.

another reason was because she wanted people to focus on her voice and dance skills, ignoring whether she was beautiful or not.

Red and Blue: Badge 2

TimeLine: Nov 2023

Last time we both got our first badge from Brock, this time we’ll be making our way through Mt. Moon and to Cerulean City!

Ferel: After that madness at the Pewter City gym Felt endured, her and I started to get through  route 3, where.. Felt was more then tired after getting through the countless trainers there. Myself however tried to dodge and weave through them all to try and get my next team member, a Nidoran F who I named Hikaru via Felts cousins suggestion. We both made it to the PKMN Center next to Mt. Moon to rest after all the battles, until a strange man asked us if we were interested in a “Top Quality” pokemon, that being a Magicarp. I passed on the offer but Felt bought the lil guy for about $5, to which she then stuffed it into the PC before we left for the cave system. Mt. Moon for me wasn’t too awful since I managed to catch everything I wanted there, plus it got Shella and lil Hikaru some good exp… Felt though forgot her repels upon entering and after slightly getting lost, she eventually met up with me on the other side looking worse for ware. (cont.)

(cont.) We also ran into these weird people saying they were with Team Rocket? Neither of us had ever heard of the group so we just kicked ass and moved through the cave. As we were by the exit this other weirdo was freaking out about not sharing these fossils he found with us.. despite us not knowing those fossils were even there before he pointed them out to us. We both kicked his ass in our respective games and while I chose the dome fossil, Felt chose the Helix fossil.

Ferel: Heading through route 4 I stumbled across my third teammate in the grass near the next city, a baby Sandshrew called Slash, who I then trained a bit in the same grass before meeting Felt by Nugget Bridge, where she and I beat Gary in another battle. While making our way through the trainer packed bridge I started to feel as if I was being watched.. though Felt wasn’t getting this bizarre sensation, we both fought the Rocket grunt at the end and were about to head up to Bills place.. but something compelled me to go to the grass by the water on this route. Going over to the grass I didn’t find anything except when a trainer wanted to fight me, I suddenly was back at the PKMN Center??? Now at this point I was very confused and wanted to try and get back to Felt, though when I was getting back to the bridge it felt like time had seemingly stopped around me, upon stepping onto the bridge I froze… then heard a faint cry, something similar to a Paras but different… (cont.) 

(cont.) Suddenly a figure was right above me… it was.. a Mew?? It twirled upright and stared at me for a bit… then to the pokeballs on my backpack? I couldn’t understand why this was happening but before I knew it the Mew cried out again and appeared it wanted to battle! Upon seeing it was very low level I chose to use Hikaru and Slash to try and take it out, after fiddling it down I got the idea of throwing a pokeball at the pink pokemon, what should have most likely taken many attempts, I managed to catch the Mew! I walked over to the pokeball and right then and there I realized that time was moving normally again. Felt: I was making my way through the route ahead after the bridge, thankfully getting by the trainers without too much trouble. I noticed a small cottage by the sea, and decided to see if anyone was in there. I gave the door a knock, and sure enough, I heard a man say “Please come in”… Alright then. Surely this won’t turn into a traumatizing experience. I creaked the door open, poking my head into the home… and saw that it looked to be a laboratory of some sort with no one around… save for a Nidorino in the middle of the room that was looking at me. The moment I stepped in and raised my hand towards the Pokemon however… it suddenly stood up on two legs while still staring right at me. I stood there, frozen in absolute shock and horror as to what I was witnessing… but then it spoke. The Nidorino was speaking. It said its name was Bill, and that it needed help with turning it back into a human. It wanted me to fiddle with the computer to the side as it went into one of the capsules. Without getting to say a word, the Pokemon hurried over to the large contraption and went inside the container, as I continued to ponder what was even happening. Reluctantly, I nervously stumbled over to the computer, and took note of the prompts on the screen. By some miracle, I managed to set the contraption into motion. Bright lights blinded me as the room began to fill with smoke… until the other container suddenly opened up. A man with a chipper smile walked out and then greeted me. Bill thanked me for helping him out with his predicament, and then reached into his back pocket to hand me two tickets for the S.S. Anne, claiming he would rather let me and a friend of mine have them. I put on meek smile and thanked Bill, before turning around and leaving the home, before making a mad sprint back towards the city. Right as I reached the bridge, that's when I saw Ferel standing in the middle of the walkway, holding a Pokeball. I didn't even notice that they weren't with me the whole time... With that, we proceeded to practically explain the horrors the both of us had gone through... with Ferel more optimistic about the events that had transpired.

Ferel: After all…. That happening to the both of us, we both decided to hit up the gym nearby. Misty was the leader of this water type gym, where we both struggled a bit in the battle, mostly thanks to Mistys Starmie. Luckily though, Jack and my newest member, Clolo, were able to pull through. Felt and I both got our second badges and proceeded to move south of the region to the next city holding our third badge.

On Pokemon DNA

In all living things, there is a special polymer of nucleotides forming a double helix called Deoxyribonucleic Acid, or DNA. This is the basis of life. DNA is something akin to the instructions of life- It encodes instructions for cells and proteins to follow, and from that instruction, it builds the appropriate life form.

(I am aware that this is vastly oversimplified, however, I wish to put in an extremely basic understanding for those who left school to go on Pokemon journeys, and thus would not have even this knowledge base to work with. I will not be explaining each base or each role of each part. Please understand.)

DNA is passed down from parent to child. When two living beings conceive a child, the zygote receives half its DNA from its father and half from its mother, engaging in new combinations, before even factoring in mutations.

However, DNA is not perfectly efficient. Over time, transmission errors, mutations, and other such factors build up, and portions of the DNA do not code instructions. Some of this DNA has use- Even if it does not code anything itself, it may modify or instruct other DNA coding sequences. This is called non-coding DNA, or ncDNA.

However, there is further DNA- Fragments of ancient DNA that still gets passed down, or pseudogenes- that seem to do nothing at all. This is called 'junk DNA'. However, the study of ncDNA and junk DNA is rather limited, as because they are not actively encoding information, they are thought of as useless.

(There is a theory that Mewtwo is so different from all known records of Mew, not because Team Rocket intentionally augmented Mewtwo, but because they deemed the ncDNA as worthless and removed it from the genome.)

It is said that the human genome is as much as 99% ncDNA, and the active part that creates genes and creates the person is as small as 1%. That is, over our millions of years of evolutionary history, only 1% of what we still hold on to remains in use.

(Atavism, when a trait lost over the course of evolution suddenly returns via a mutation, is thought to involve the reactivation of some ncDNA. Such examples include humans growing tails, or a Torchic with teeth.)

However, while humans have as much as 99%, interestingly, Pokemon eclipse even that, with potential 99.99% of their DNA seeming to be ncDNA. The strange part is, this is true for most Pokemon- Regardless of its species or complexity, all Pokemon seem to have an incredible amount of ncDNA by any standards. The reason and method for this is currently unknown. Why Pokemon DNA genomes seem to be so long while so little of it is used, and why it is so consistent... Another mystery of Pokemon.

As mentioned above, I purposefully oversimplified things here to try to make it easier for those with no understanding or schooling in genetics to understand. However, I recognize I may have accidentally made some parts misleading or even incorrect in my attempts to simplify matters. If any experts on genetics wish to weigh in and add in your own thoughts and corrections, I would welcome this.

Hunter’s Pokémon journey part 3.

My team and I arrived in Fuchsia City and battled Koga and got the soul badge for winning. When I arrived Saffron City after catching more Pokémon, I saw Team Rocket harassing a woman, who happened to be the secretary of the president of the Silph company. She told me that Team Rocket took over the company because they want the master ball. After I went inside the company building, I rescued all the innocent Pokémon. One of the scientists even gave me a new Pokémon called Lapras. When we arrived at the company president’s office, there was Giovanni. I battled him and when I won, but he got away in the helicopter. After my Pokémon recovered in the Pokémon center, I battled Sabrina and won the marsh badge. Then I took on the karate master at the fighting dojo and won. He said I can choose one of the fighting types. And I chose Hitmonchan. After that, I arrived at the power plant to catch the legendary Pokémon known as Zapdos. After that, I went to the Seafoam islands to catch Articuno, another legendary Pokémon. After I caught them, I arrived at the Pokémon center on Cinnabar Island. After my Pokémon got healed, I flew on Fearow to the Pewter City museum and got an old amber. When I got back to Cinnabar Island, I had the old amber and the helix fossil restored. And I got Aerodactyl and Omanyte. After we explored the Pokémon mansion, I battled gym leader Blaine and my Omanyte evolved into Omastar! Then we beat him and I earned the volcano badge. Now I can go and fight the last gym leader.

(Also I’m using the black/bold for Ksante because tumblr doesn’t have yellow and purple for Alune because while I think pink suits her, Kayn already has it and no member uses purple)

Ezreal

-Kiriko and Moira main. Only picks the female characters because they have the cutest skins. Never actually healing you, and if he is, its only so that he can get ult and then solo DPS the entire team even though it never works out. Still 1v5’ing the enemy team even without his ult because he thinks it can look good on his tiktok montages (Yes he’s one of THOSE TikTok Moira’s) Went absolutely ballistic over the LE SSERAFIM skins and only spams their emote all game

Kayn

-Junkrat main, loves doing that cool thing that Junk players do where they jump into a group of enemies and ults RIGHT in the middle of them. Loves playing payload maps on defense cause he can spam the attackers spawn gate with mines and traps as soon as the game starts (That little shit) Very toxic in voice chat, will take his time to tbag every player he kills so it can look good on the kill cams, spams the “its snowing” voiceline everywhere (Overwatch players, you know what I’m talking about) will absolutely flame his supports for not healing them when HES THE ONE JUMPING INTO THE ENEMY TEAM IN THE FIRST PLACE (And yet only plays quick play/arcade modes because competitive players scare him lol)

Sett

-Ana main because she reminds him of his mama Unlike Ezreal, he actually knows how to heal his team. Occasionally finds himself tossing a nade at nothing accidentally or even worse, pressing Q out of panic and nano boosting the Lucio or smth. Got flamed by his teammates (*ahem* Kayn) and still feels really bad about it. Almost always caught in a 1v1 against the Widow or Ashe he thinks he can win (He does not) Never actually uses his scope and just shoots at people randomly to heal them, cause he’s too lazy to practice his aim.

K’Sante

-Zarya main, fits his vibe for some reason. He actually knows how to defend his team. Started off as a casual player, (isn’t that much of a video game person in general,) but liked how everyone else had fun on this game and wanted to do better for their sake. Got surprisingly good at it too. Very smart with his bubble and grav placements. The only one who actually plays the game normally, I swear.

Yone

-An old man who does not have time for video games, only plays because Ezreal and Kayn roped him into it and he couldn’t say no. Super basic, only playing Soldier 76 because that was the first character given to him by the tutorial and he’s too lazy to practice anyone else. Pretty good with his aim and left click but just…does not do anything else besides that. Does not sprint to try and chase people, does not use his Helix Rockets, does not use his biotic field, just..stands there spamming left click cause thats all he knows how to do.

Aphelios

-Casual support enjoyer by day, tryhard Genji and Hanzo main by night. Does the most INSANE Dragonblades with Genji, nano boost or not. Flanking entire back lanes with just his dash alone, deflecting ults like no tomorrow. Knows every map, every shortcut, every health pack location, its TERRIFYING. Even more so when he’s playing Hanzo, WILL one shot you from the most bullshit corners you didn’t even know existed WILL two tap you with storm arrow (Sometimes just one) and WILL somehow get at least a 3k from an extremely well placed Dragonstorm. Its insane. (Also he plays Kiriko as a support but with the way he kills people with her, you think he was playing a sniper. Ezreal could only dream to be like him)

Alune

-Mei main. Also just out of vibe. Almost always spending money on her favorite skins and emotes for her (Sprinkles is her personal favorite) Also a casual player. Really good at sniping with her secondary fire though, so watch out. Ults are also super satisfying. Knows the best places to throw them to at least freeze the entire team for its duration. Ice Walls are always perfectly timed to protect you from ults, including several RIP-Tires from Kayn (Much to his rage and anger) Has some scary combos with her ult and Genji blade from Phel.

Day 3 of My Pokémon Yellow Nuzlocke Challenge!

Today will be a bit shorter than others since I do the church thing and then use Sunday as a calm, lazy napping day. Still, I can see where the day gets me.

First up will be finishing up these trainers and then getting my encounter for the route.

Route 3 Encounter—Spearow/AngryBoi

You know, that’s not a bad Pokémon to have. Actually, in Gen 1 games, Spearow has better moves overall than the moves the Pidgey line gets. At least in the early game. And having another flying type for a while will be useful.

And now I’ve made it to the Pokémon Center just outside Mt. Moon. Here I have a conundrum. You see, inside the Pokémon Center is a man who offers to sell you a Magikarp. I did state that Pokémon offered as gifts are on the table but this isn’t a gift, I guess. Okay. No longer confused. Buyable Pokémon are off the table. Sorry Game Corner! (Not sorry.) But we may have to try something that requires an Abra that I may have to purchase from the Game Corner. However this would be just for fun though and not part of the challenge.

So…I took a few steps into Mt. Moon and what do I encounter? This freaking pest meme of a Pokémon:

I’m close to running out of MtnDew Spark. Dang. Tonight really isn’t going my way so far. And I’ve got a lot, and I mean A LOT, of cave to cover. For the most part it’s just trying to get out without being too fatigued and run out of health before the end. I’ll see if I can do it. I’m already on healing run 3 and I’ve barely made it through floor 1.

Oh, Lily tried evolving but I denied it for now because she’ll learn Poison Sting next level instead of in like 2-3 more levels. While I’m in Mt. Moon, I’m going to look for a Moon Stone to evolve her further soon. Oop! I immediately found one. Perfect! Having her as a Nidoqueen so soon will make her a super useful member for quite a bit longer.

I guess I was closer to the end than I thought so I’ll just grab my Fossil and beat up Jessie&James. This time I’m grabbing the Dome Fossil. I know, I know praise Helix. (For those who don’t know, that is a reference to a Twitch Plays Pokémon run many years ago which had a very useful Omastar that was originally the other fossil I’m not taking this time.)

Dang it you Team Rocket goobers! You’re not supposed to Poison poor Stinky! It’s just trying its best to beat your Ekans up. Good thing I have a couple Antidotes. Hearing nothing but echoing corridors, Gary Oak was sure he was done for after his trip into an infamous Aunuran desert Trapinch hole. With his head bound, he knew he wasn't out of the woods just yet. He hears a familiar craggy voice address him as he's pushed onto a chair and bound in an unknown room.

"Did you find what you were looking for?" Said the unknown voice, Gary's ears piped up as the man continued.

"Just as nosy as your grandfather in the pursuit of knowledge, rest assured your nosiness ends here."

After the statement from the unknown man, Gary's head covering had been lifted off, revealing a dark room with a spotlight upon himself. He knows this man… Not only from the Kanto region, but as the head of Rocket industries in Aunura, Giovanni.

"tch, well well, I knew that old man stink was bound to be you. This whole place smells of retirement home and failed yakuza." Gary quipped.

Giovanni, looking the same as he did back in the mid 2000's aside from the hair dye running down his face, leaned in from his wheelchair towards Gary to offer a deal out of this place alive. "I know what you've been digging up… Our team has taken the liberty of confiscating your 'findings'. Rest assured, you won't be publishing any of them; in fact, you'll do as I say or you'll end up more dismembered than that arm you collected."

Giovanni leaned back in his wheelchair, with a large grin on his face creasing his crows feet even more. Gary was unphased by the threat and smirked back at the acquaintance as he spoke back in a nonchalant manner, "I heard on the grape-vine you're getting back into the genetics commissioning game, and had to check it out for myself! Seems like whichever geneticist you hired this time can't even get one of those creatures to form properl-"

"Enough talk!" shouted Giovanni. "There's one more thing, seeing as you're so interested in our development"

Giovanni leant forward once more with a stern look on his face, as Gary remained stonewalled. "Your skills will be needed here one day, 'Professor Oak', I know you've been collecting and studying Arceus plates for medical research for some time now."

Gary's eyes shuddered in anger, "WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I W-"

"You despise the thought of pokemon in pain, and I'm giving you an opportunity to t-"

"Yeah yeah… So you'll put them in pain so I can take them out of it… Sounds completely ethical to do that to an innocent creature, Artificial or not…"

Giovanni paused and smirked as he leant back in his wheelchair. "So you know of the pokemon Mewtwo, and it's origins"

Gary Squirmed within his bound state in a fit of fury, "Why are you making so many!??! Some of them are still alive out there! The ones your disgusting cronies buried and chopped!"

"It doesn't matter, those ones are merely unable to form, as you put it yourself, Gary… We're nearly there, and I will have one obey my commands if it's the last thing I do on this Earth!" Givovanni coughed loud and hoarsely at the end of his statement. No one would tell if it was just his talking or the musty dark room that caused it.

Just as Gary was squirming around in his bindings, he'd been slowly able to get a pokeball to finally drop from his pants pocket, unleashing his Arcanine. "Grrrrwaarrh!!!"

In what felt like a flash, Arcanine chomped it's way through Gary's bindings and shoved Giovanni backwards into the wall with it's hind legs with no hesitation. Gary grabbed a hold of his Arcanine before using a teleportation device he refers to as 'Escape rope'.

Two Team rocket grunts charge into the room to assist the frail Giovanni as his phone rang, "Sir you need to see the medic! You shouldn't take thuds like tha-"

"I'M NOT AS DECREPID AS YOU ALL THINK!? Nghhh…"

Groaning from the incident, Giovanni reaches into his inner jacket pocket and pulls out a black rotom phone, answering it in a huff. "This better be good news! Have you found more DNA from the Unovan experiment, Drake!?"

Through the video call is a bright, curly haired woman with a piercingly defiant voice. Some of the team rocket grunts refer to her as 'the clown', as a smile has barely ever wiped off her face. Except for those few who tell tales of a grim reality behind the mask… "It's always good news! You just don't know how to take progress, ahahaha!!!"

Giovanni stared blankly into the phone's camera as she cackled, before continuing, "ahah… Well, not only did we get the rest of the samples, but we got the main cretin themselves here! Well, we let it go after we t-"

"YOU LET IT GO!?!?!? THAT WAS OUR CHANCE TO CLONE HUNDREDS OR THOUSANDS OF THEM, YOU FUCKING IMBI- what!?" As Giovanni began to unleash his tirade, the clown, known formally as Professor Kana Drake, showed him a fogged up glass and metal chamber with what appeared to be a nearly complete foetus of a mewtwo.

"I hope you're read to listen or you wont get your kitty cats!" She widely grinned and giggled through her words.

"We let her go, as we still don't know how she even got pregnant in the first place"

"P-Pregnant!?" Giovanni spluttered, "They're pokemon? They are meant to have"

Giovanni grumbled with reluctance, putting more faith in the eccentric genetisist. "Drake… Once you bring it back here, I'll take care of the other component…"

Giovanni had hung up before she even had a chance to finish. He leans forward again, almost lost in thought. A grunt goes to ask about his condition before they're cut off by Giovanni. "Have the Gym leaders of Symphony come to their senses yet?"

The grunt blankly stares at him before checking his watch in a hurry "a-ahh! sorry sir, right away! … … Their last email reads… uh…'Get fucked, we own the gym by law, no 'protection' money will be paid… Sincerely, Ai and Amare Spes… P S … How do you plan on forcing it from us? Giovanni must have been infected with the clown's disposition as his smile widened, wrinkling his elderly face as he looked at an email on his rotom phone.

Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA), from Augsburg, Germany, appears to have made a significant step toward the first vertical orbital launch attempt from the United Kingdom (UK). On May 16, RFA successfully conducted an unannounced first static fire of the first stage of its RFA ONE rocket. A video showing the test has since been released, with an accompanying update saying, “We hot-fired a total of four Helix engines, igniting one by one at four-second intervals. All engines ran simultaneously for 8 seconds with a total hot-fire duration of 20 seconds. The test ran flawlessly through start-up, steady-state and shutdown.” First fire! Snowdonia Space Centre, Llanbedr Airfield, Snowdonia, Wales In December 2023, the Snowdonia Space Centre was granted UKP820,000 from the UK Space Agency to build a Space Technology Test Centre (STTS) at its site on Llanbedr Airport, on the western coast of Snowdonia in Wales. The new STTS will have a full suite of spacecraft testing environments and the ability to launch small rockets out into the existing Ministry of Defence (MOD) range off its shoreline. Rocket engine testing facilities will also be available. This project is underway and is expected to open in March 2025. It will be operated jointly with Newton Launch Systems, a small UK company founded in 2011 to make spaceflight more sustainable. Llanbedr Airfield — site of Snowdonia Spaceport. Pokéchronology, Volume I: Yellow

Day 2

Things are really hitting their stride already. I'm finding and catching new Pokémon left and right, evolving them, adding to my type coverage, and doing a lot of battles. I can get used to this.

Something I'm finding as I go on however is that fighting every battle I come across, especially in a dungeon, is very taxing on my team and my resources, especially since some Pokémon are surprisingly strong and I don't have good counters to them yet. Money is limited and Potions aren't necessarily cheap.

Route 3

Something I forgot to mention in the last post is that I caught a female Nidoran before fighting Brock. Named her Prinzessin. She didn't help in the fight against him, I just realized that I had forgotten to mention her.

Anyway, LOTS of trainers on Route 3, which means lots of opportunity to level up. I focused mainly on getting Butterboy and Prinzessin leveled up, and occasionally BIRD UP whenever I felt they were suited to the battle. Butterboy had evolved into Metapod a little earlier and shortly after evolved into Butterfree. I knew Bug Pokémon typically evolve early, but not that early. But it's great that it happened because Confusion is proving to be a very useful move right now.

Prinzessin also learned Double Kick during the trainer battles, which actually would have been very useful in the fight with Brock. But of course, I didn't know that at the time.

Having fought my way through all the trainers, I entered the Pokémon center by the entrance to Mt. Moon and bought the Magikarp, which I named Ominous. Don't know why, probably because I thought it was funny to name the OG meme Pokémon something really edgy.

Mt. Moon

The first real dungeon. Mt. Moon is quite a trek to get through as I'm constantly harassed by wild Pokémon and taking a beating, not to mention the numerous trainers wandering the area. I picked up the Moon Stone and TM12 and caught three more Pokémon: a Zubat, a Geodude, and a Paras, which I named Nighter, Dwayne, and Mycoboss (that Paras was kinda strong when I fought it okay). Eventually I made it to what I believe is Team Rocket's Hideout.

I didn't get very far though as all the battles up to that point had drained my resources and I soon ran out of potions. With most of my Pokémon on the brink of fainting I decided to withdraw with the Escape Rope I had picked up earlier.

Time to prepare for another run. I decided I would use TM12 on Prinzessin to teach her Water Gun, adding even more to my type coverage, and evolved her into Nidoqueen with the Moon Stone I picked up. She's now an absolute unit, rocking 30+ in all stats and 60 HP at level 16, and ready to completely fucking demolish any Geodude who dares stand... or uh, float, I guess, in my way.

I pushed through Team Rocket's Hideout much easier than before, using Butterboy to clown on Zubat and Prinzessin to clown on everything else. Fully evolved Pokémon it turns out are pretty strong and make the game a lot easier. Caught a Clefairy that I named Fairyberry on the way to the end.

I chose the Helix Fossil after defeating the Super Nerd later in the dungeon, deciding that I liked Omanyte better than Kabuto. Shortly after, I'm challenged by that eternal dorky duo Jessie and James. Prinzessin swept away their entire team with little difficulty. Finally, I was able to exit the dungeon to Route 4, now on my way to Cerulean City.

Cerulean City

After wandering around checking the place out, I decided to head north to see what I could do before challenging the gym. Got spooked by Gary and his four Pokémon. I kicked his ass. Then I continued across Nugget Bridge, fought my way through the five trainers and got bamboozled by Team Rocket member #yes, but as usual Prinzessin cleaned him up pretty good.

I receive Charmander from the trainer with self-worth issues after the bridge, and catch an Oddish in the grass around the bend to the left. I named the Charmander Sicko and the Oddish Canteven. Then I proceeded to the east, challenging every trainer along the way to Bill's house. I realized I was REALLY soft to Psychic types while fighting one of the trainer's Slowpoke, which is a bit of a problem. Psychic is one of the strongest types in Generation I though, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I really need to get some good Bug type moves. Maybe Mycoboss can learn some, but I've been too busy leveling up Ominous to give them the attention they need.

Having beaten all the trainers in the area, I proceeded to rescue Bill and return to Cerulean City to deal with the Team Rocket member who stole the Dig TM, and once again, get destroyed because he has a fucking Drowzee on his team. But I manage to win the battle anyway and proceed to the south to see that the road is closed. I noticed there was some underground route to Vermilion City but dealing with that is for later.

It's time to challenge Misty. With my trusty BIG RAT by my side I felt I had little to fear, and while some of the Water types in the gym were surprisingly tough, I still dispatched them with ease.

Misty herself put up a bit more of a fight, as her Starmie is level 21 and has a considerable amount of health. BIG RAT could deal substantial damage but he also took a sizeable amount himself. I had to switch out to different Pokémon a couple of times to give him the chance to heal, and I have to say these 20 HP Potions are starting to feel a little inadequate. With Starmie having such high offensive and defensive power, I decided it was time for my trump card: Sleep Powder.

Sleep is kind of a stupid status. It can either be incredibly broken, completely disabling a Pokémon for five whole turns, or do basically nothing. Luckily for me, it was the former. I landed the move with Butterboy, took the opportunity to heal BIG RAT, and sent him in to finish off Starmie, defeating Misty. I'm surprised she only had two Pokémon. That combined with having effective types for the battle made her considerably easier to deal with than Brock, although I still had to use cheeky tactics to make victory achievable. But hey, all's fair in love and Pokémon battles, right?

Well, that's all for today. Another day, another gym. The game has continued to be pretty fun so far, I'm almost surprised how much I'm enjoying myself. I never used to think the core series games were something I'd be interested in, but I guess I was wrong.

Judging by the name of the next town, I'm guessing Lt. Surge is the next gym leader. I'll need to find some Pokémon that can deal with Electric types, and since I already know about Geodude and Sandshrew I think I'll go with them. Gonna have to train them up though, which could take a while.

Also, given my experience with Psychic types... I'm a little concerned with how that gym battle is going to go. But I'm sure I'll figure something out.

Hunter’s Pokémon journey part 1.

Once upon a time, when I was little, I watched Pokémon on TV for the very first time. It made me want to become a Pokémon trainer. So I did a lot of research and memorized all the facts. And I was ready to become a Pokémon trainer. First up, I played Pokémon yellow. I chose yellow because Pikachu is the starter in Pallet Town, just like Ash got his Pikachu in the anime. Professor Oak gave me a Pokédex and some Poké balls. It took some time, but me and Pikachu became best friends. Working together, we battled and caught many kinds of Pokémon in the wild. Such as Pidgey, Rattata, Spearow, Mankey, male and female Nidoran. In Viridian Forest, I caught a Caterpie, a Metapod and even a Pidgeotto. By the time got out, we arrived at Pewter City and we battled Brock. My Caterpie evolved into Metapod and then into Butterfree. After I won the boulder badge, we went to the Pokémon center outside of Mount Moon. I bought a Magikarp using some of my hard earned prize money. And met another trainer who was playing Pokémon red and he kindly traded his Weedle for my Pidgey. When I entered Mount Moon, I caught Zubat, Clefairy, Sandshrew, Geodude and Paras. Then I battled a super nerd who gave me one of the fossils. I chose the helix fossil. But then I battled Team Rocket. I managed to defeat them and recover a technical machine they stole and pressed on. We soon arrived at Cerulean City where a kind girl gave me a Bulbasaur. After that, I caught Jigglypuff and Abra. At that moment, my Weedle evolved into Kakuna and then into Beedrill. Then I battled all the trainers on nugget bridge and I met a boy who kindly gave me a Charmander. Then I caught Oddish, Bellsprout and Venonat. Then I did this really neat trick that allowed me and Pikachu to battle and catch the rarest Pokémon of all. And that was none other than Mew! Both Pikachu and I were very happy. After that, we met Bill, and then we battled against Misty and I earned the cascade badge. Then the following day, I met a trainer playing Pokémon blue and I traded my Metapod for a Meowth. After growing through more Pokémon battles, my Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur and Charmander evolved into Charmeleon! In between battles, I got the old rod from the fishing guru and I even caught more Pokémon along the way, including extras of the same species to trade for specific species of Pokémon that cannot be found in Pokémon yellow. When I arrived at Vermilion City, I received hidden machine 01 Cut from the captain of the SS Anne. My Spearow even evolved into Fearow and Rattata evolved into Raticate. After that, I taught Raticate how to use Cut. Then I battled and beat Lieutenant Surge and won the thunder badge. After that, a policewoman gave me a Squirtle and I used a bike voucher from Pokémon fan club chairman to obtain a bicycle and I cycled through rock tunnel to catch more Pokémon. And after I caught them, I continued my way through rock tunnel to lavender town.
