I reach for the firewood, and light a shy flame in front of my tent

When I should be in a better position than this, and not firewood under a sun that steals my dreams, two years we have been crushed between the flames of war and the cold of exile, between carrying water and collecting firewood

While the world remains blind, forgetting that we have the right to life, warmth, education and work

Our Ramadan is smoke and fire, we barely search for a meal to satisfy our hunger while the world lights up its nights, and we search for a place to lean on our backs that have been bent from living in a tent.

أمد يداي إلى الحطب ، فأشعل لهبا خجولا أمام خيمتي

حين ينبغي أن أكون بوضع أفضل من هذا ،وليس حطبا تحت شمس تسرق أحلامي ، عامان ونحن نُسحق بين لهيب الحرب وبرد المنفى ، بين نقل الماء وجمع الحطب

بينما يظل العالم أعمى ، ناسيا أننا لنا الحق في الحياة والدفئ والتعليم والعمل

رمضاننا دخان ونار ، بالكاد نبحث عن وجبة تسد جوعنا بينما يضيء العالم لياليه ، ونبحث عن مكان نسند عليه ظهورنا التي تقوست من العيش في الخيمة .
