Woven from undyed wool from heritage sheep breeds (Kainuu grey & Finnsheep) and coffee dyed Finnsheep wool using clasped weft- technique
The question I’ve gotten most about this blanket is that is it an art piece or a usable blanket. I reject the notion that it can’t be both. I inherited some handspun wool late last year - the warmer grey yarn and coffee dyed portions of the blanket - and wanted to do something special with it to pay a homage to the crafter who spun the yarn (and other very beautiful things like it)

I made a random necklace. I have been trying to figure out what to do with this big ass charm. I personally love a chunky necklace.

Le Monde Textile - the other 'World Wide Web'
Spiders symbolize weavers in many cultures and this evocative journal cover knits this symbol with that of science in the microscope. Absolutely lovely!

The challenge was to improvise something in situ with the scraps I found at the beach the last time I went to Cádiz, but then a bronchitis had me in a loop of cough and mucus and barely talking during two weeks. I got a bunch of green fabric, what else I could do? The handkerchief is made of pieces from an old blouse.

So, a couple years back, I got a new loom and liked it. And apparently, because of this, my dad went a bit loom crazy and got these at, like, antique stores and such, and they've just been living in the basement for a couple of years. I didn't know we had them because my dad kept meaning to clean them up/fix them before giving them to me, and procrastinated until we moved and it was suddenly my job to find space under my bed to store "my looms."
I have no idea what these fucking things are. They are not remotely like the loom I got for Christmas. I have no idea how to use them. If any of you can at least tell me what TYPE of looms these are so I can do some research, I would be very thankful
