He slid quickly to the wall, pushing himself flat against it as the shadows shot towards Morality instead. Anxiety was also slower than normal. Was this a side effect of the Creativity twins' disappearance? Again, another question for later. Logan reached up, moving the lock on the fire escape with his powers, it barely hung on. That was move two.

It still amazes me the number of people who see the juxtaposition between Nami and Usopp during Wano and their fight against Ulti as "Nami's devotion to Luffy is unmatched, unlike Usopp's" when she isn't able to say he won't be the king of the pirates but Usopp is telling her to lie.

I think most people don't have in mind, either, that Usopp isn't the one being directly asked. He is looking out for Nami and begging her to lie to keep her alive because he is scared to death they might lose her for something as insignificant as lying. For him, lying is a form of survival and it is not that big of a deal because he trusts Luffy enough to tell Nami to lie about her feelings. It is something that will only stay between them because he knows it is better to lie than to die and Luffy would want it that way too.

And that doesn't mean he isn't loyal to Luffy or his dream. He is just looking out for Nami's safety. And as I said-- He isn't being asked directly, either. It is easier to tell others to lie about something of the sort than to do it yourself, and if the roles were reversed I personally think he'd have the most awful of times with it too.

Nami refuses to say Luffy won't become the king of the pirates because for her, even if lying has gotten her out of messes, she puts her trust and loyalty in Luffy before her own instincts of survival because lying is what got her to push them away when they first met and this is the one thing she can't lie about because it would hurt more than death.

Then again, I think she would do the same exact thing Usopp did if she wasn't being the one asked. It is the whole point of the scene, actually. They both know the most rational thing is to lie so the one witnessing the scene will always be cold-headed about it, but the one having to lie is the one suffering the bitter realization of how lying about this and saying it out loud is way harder than it seems from an outsider's perspective.

So I am tired of seeing people criticizing Usopp for his decision during the fight against Ulti as if it were that easy for him to see Nami being about to get killed if she doesn't lie. Sorry for the guy to actually want to protect the people he loves instead of letting her be reckless and basically kill herself freely for telling a truth even Luffy would tell her to lie about if it meant living.

I just finished the 4.2 Archon Quest and i can't help but continue to be suspicious of Zhongli for being the only version of him to ever exists in Teyvat.

There are the nameless Bard and Venti.

There are Makoto and Ei.

There are Rukkhadevata and Nahida.

and now Focalors and Furina.

Every Archon has some kind of Double or Doppelganger, or simply a Mirrorself - someone who LOOKS and acts like the first or tries to live the former dreams, goals and ideals. They aren't the only one with their face, there were at some point two of them in Teyvat (As if they were twins, but only one remained...well, in case of makoto and ei that's literally what happend but you get it) There already once was someobody conscious with the Face the current Archon wears.

Except for Zhongli. He is the only one with a face that belongs just to him. There is no counterpart or mirror, no friend or sibling, he didnt split himself into two, his face is unique and yet he is also the only one who keeps it hidden in every cutscene...

World Tour Assistant Noah AU (where he is always an assistant):

After the gross kiss failed to stop Alejandro's flirting... Noah begs Duncan to convince Alejandro, that Noah is too dorky to date... but Duncan has an even better idea; make Alejandro jealous for fun!

(In this AU, Duncan and Courtney had broken up before Season 3, so Duncan isn't a cheater!)

Duncan: "Thanks for letting me return to the show, handsome.~" 😘

(Duncan kisses Assistant Noah's cheek.)

Alejandro: "Duncan, I will DESTROY you!" 😡

Noah: "I just want to be left alone!" 🙄

Wait hold on... hold on... this is just the premise of my favourite Dunnoah fic series but with an assistant Noah twist. And extra Alenoah flavouring. That's not to say I'm against the idea.

Though I can't really imagine Duncan ever committing himself to flirting with Noah unless the two had struck up a deal prior- Duncan's that specific brand of 2000s era bigoted where being seen as anything but straight is a social crime (despite the fact that Duncan is definitely a boykisser, just in denial), but he's also aware of just how much of a threat Alejandro is in the competition and the latino's huge obvious crush on Chris' personal assistant, so I think Duncan could push aside his own internal biases to at the very least propose a similar idea to Noah.

Really, it'd be beneficial for the both of them; Noah gets to subtly-not-so-subtly tell Alejandro to back off by responding to Duncan's advances but not his, and Duncan gets to rile up Alejandro enough to redivert his attention away from the competition itself thus increasing his own chances of winning. It's strategic, really, nothing more.

It's that line of logic that has Noah eventually conceding that, for all intents and purposes, it's a good plan. So he deigns to play along, at least for a little bit, just to get Alejandro off of his back.

And, canonically, they're both shown to be at least half-decent at flirting, so whatever displays they have planned to annoy Alejandro would be just convincing enough to really get under his skin. Especially since Alejandro's shown in canon to be the protective/possessive type (mostly in All-Stars, in how he reacts to José insulting Heather) and likely wouldn't take too kindly to Duncan swooping in on "his amor" or whatever Spanish nickname he'd substitute it with.

Which all eventually leads to the scenario you proposed; Duncan plants a wet one on Noah's cheek and Alejandro sees red.

Noah's already exhausted by default, but feels weariness seep into the marrow of his bones as a seething Alejandro glares poisonous daggers towards Duncan, who's committed enough to their little ruse to in turn shoot a wink and a pair of finger guns towards the assistant. Deciding that he isn't paid nearly enough to deal with the inevitable confrontation between the two idiots who've apparently taken an interest in him (Duncan's, of course, being a known ruse), Noah leaves to go and do his actual job.

...

And then, Alejandro confronts Duncan directly in the Economy cabin, claiming that he doesn't deserve to so much as look at Noah, and that he (Alejandro) was the one Noah kissed and therefore the object of his attraction so Duncan better lay off. This is news to the punk, and adds a whole new layer of complexity to their plan. And perhaps something he can later exploit to give himself a leg up in the competition.

But why does the idea of Noah kissing Alejandro make his chest tighten up with envy?

And then maybe Duncan finds the untamed passion of Alejandro's genuine fury kind of hot and he too enters the metaphorical boxing ring of feelings? Aledunnoah endgame? The intern server has been posting a lot of Aleduncan lately so letting those two get together (and with Noah in there too, as a bonus) just seems natural to my brain at this point.

A lawlight thing I don't think people talk about enough is the sheer amount of confidence Light has in L's competence.

(I'm not talking about the handcuff bits either—Yotsuba!Light actually has far less confidence in L's abilities than regular Light does, because Yotsuba!Light thinks L is wrong, and that every move L has made against him has been wrong. Yotsuba!Light only regains his belief in L near the end of the arc, when Light himself begins to suspect that L might not be wrong.)

But those little inner monologues we make fun of all the time, the ones where Light basically talks himself in circles trying to the find the best, most non-suspicious answer? That's him acknowledging that L is incredibly intelligent.

Light, before even properly meeting L, was completely sure that L would think of every single possibility, every single response to every single word Light could spout, a counterattack to every move he could make, even if he didn't know exactly what they were. And yes, you could say that it's Light simply being overly cautious, but Light is so sure of L's responses in those moments; his sheer belief that all L needs is for him to slip up once, even though that cannot possibly be true (one hint of suspicion wouldn't have been enough for the Task Force I don't think, not even compiled on the fact that Light fits their profile) is honestly....kind of staggering??

Light had no clue that L even existed before the broadcast, and the only true shows of L's ability that he saw before they met in person were the broadcast (a loss) and the cameras (annoying, but a win).

As soon as they meet in person, Light is thinking battle strategy. There's a moment of "Oh fuck" when L reveals himself, and that moment is because Light is certain that L would've been a fox in his henhouse if he hadn't.

But Light, again, doesn't take the moves that he can't be certain of the meaning of as proof that L is stupid—he takes it as proof that L is smart.

And at every turn, L proves him right. :)

I just think it's interesting that Light very much respected L's intelligence, even as he hated him. Light's faith in L's abilities was pretty much instant and I thought it might be fun to explore :3

sometimes i'm watching starsky and hutch and they do something (like trying to take a forgotten tag off a rented suit starsky is wearing to a party) in just the most unnecessarily touch-heavy way possible (instead of having starsky turn around or approach from the side, hutch leans in very very close from the front and peers over starsky's shoulder) and my brain will go, why! why would anyone do it that way! and then i have to tell my brain that we already know the answer. because we are watching starsky and hutch, which features starsky and hutch.

The Logical Exception!

Hello Everyone! I semi-recently reached 1,000 subscribers on YouTube 🎉 As a thank you to everyone who supported me I recorded one of my longer stories! It was a lot of work but I'm excited with the way it turned out. Not only did I record this story but I also commissioned some amazing artists to help with a few scene pictures! I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve had to do a quick double take to see if it was a tankie or a rightwing Republican talking. If you examine it and listen closely, it’s really amazing how much their rhetoric overlaps. Sometimes the Venn diagram is just a big ole circle, which isn’t surprising because both parties care about the suffering of others ONLY if they like the people being harmed. Otherwise it’s cool indifference or worse, because they’re good with authoritarianism, imperialism and colonialism, because “communism” ☭ or some such bullshit. Completely morally and intellectually inconsistent with the beliefs they espouse.

Indistinguishable from conservative rhetoric.

Ahaha, thank you so much!! Sometimes I really wish I could see what the stats on this series would be if it was one fic instead of a series, but it definitely works way better as a series so I'm just using the first fic as a benchmark, hahaha. I've been actively writing fic on AO3 for four years and it really skyrocketed up to my most popular works list! I'm just delighted to be having fun with everyone else enjoying it as well, hahaha. Hell yeah, fic wallpaper!!!
